1. Hehe, that's amusing. And very well done. It'll grab people's attention far better than the ordinary poster/flyer. Just put a little disclaimer on it, like you said, and you'll be fine. ~Dagger~
2. Shakespeare's plays are really beautiful, but you have to be in the right mood to read 'em. I think that most people dislike Shakespeare because their only experience with his work is through school. Although Shakespeare wrote a decent number of plays, he re-used the same few plot devices in just about all of them. So while the storylines of the plays may not be staggeringly original, the language more than makes up for it. Ares, not to be nitpicky, but Shakespeare didn't write in Old English. It would be impossible for any of us to read, much less understand, true Old English. Beowulf (untranslated) is Old English. Chaucer is Middle English. Shakespeare, odd though it may seem, is Modern English. ~Dagger~
3. My grandmother is diabetic.... I agree, you should definitely go see your doctor. Even if you don't have diabetes, it sounds as though you're coming down with something. If you're really stressed out or not getting enough sleep, that can also have a surprisingly severe effect on your health. So try to take good care of yourself, and ask your doctor about your symptoms. I hope you feel better soon. ~Dagger~
4. ?I know everything there is to know about Ma?Uriith,? Anubis replied softly. ?More, perhaps, than the king himself.? He cast a penetrating glance towards the smaller man. ?In any event, it?s unwise for such a powerful healer to waste her talent on one such as yourself. If you wish to feel better? I can take care of that.? ?Wait,? Leile interrupted. ?Yes?? Something about his tone of voice stuck her as being subtly condescending. ?I don?t think it?s a good idea for you to interfere with Aissa?s work.? she told him. She knew that she didn?t sound very polite, but she doubted he would care. Anubis gave her yet another enigmatic smile. He turned, locking eyes with Muis-ka, and whispered, ?Etherus nefas.? Leile stiffened. For the briefest second, the air around them seemed to bend?yet the sensation vanished almost instantly. Once it ceased, Muis-ka straightened up, staring curiously at his hands. ?What happened?? he asked, his voice hoarse with astonishment. ?What did you do?? ?No need to worry,? the mage assured him. ?It?s still there? it will still consume you, given enough time. You feel as though you?ve been cured, though?and isn?t that what counts?? Muis-ka sat down at the edge of the fountain, his breathing slow and unsteady. Leile looked back and forth between them, more than a little unsettled. Anubis simply held out his hand. ?I think we should go find that girl,? he said calmly. ?Aren?t you interested?? ?Who are you?? she demanded, determined not to budge. Muis-ka certainly didn?t look any healthier. ?Me?? the mage inquired. His smile widened slightly. ?Oh, that matters little. I simply want to help.?
5.
*****EDIT***** Dagger, did you even read the news article? It isn't a caucasian only group. Read the news article beofre making claims. Please. ****EDIT*****
I did read the article. What I meant to say was that IF she had wanted it to be a Caucasian-only group, I would have serious doubts about supporting that. But since she said the membership would be open, I don't really see any problems with it. Sorry if my post was unclear. ~Dagger~
6. At my school, anyone is allowed into any club. However, you don't find many black people in the Latin American Club, Hispanic people in the Asian Student Association, or Caucasians in the Black Student Union. So I don't think that open membership necessarily defeats the purpose of having an ethnic club. I don't really see any problem with her creating a Caucasian club, but the idea of Caucasian-only membership makes me a little uncomfortable. ~Dagger~
7. His life is more important than anything else. I think you should definitely tell an adult, and ask him/her not to say who informed him/her. If he's serious about killing himself, then you may end up saving his life. If he's not, he clearly has other problems that need to be addressed. Even if he does find out that you told someone, and becomes angry at you.... well, at least he wouldn't have the chance to hurt himself. If he does injure himself--or, heaven forbid--commits suicide, you don't want to have to feel guilty about that. ~Dagger~
8. I don't believe that we have the technology to "make" a living human.... not yet, at least. One big debate in the scientific community is whether or not viruses can be considered living things. They aren't made up of cells, and they can't replicate on their own--but they do replicate and evolve. ~Dagger~
9. Yes, as Arch said, the best thing to do is to talk to the teacher, even if you don't like him or her. Do you take part in class discussions? Teachers often get to know their students through what they talk about in class.... so even if you're well-behaved, not speaking up may end up counting against you. ~Dagger~
10. Dammit, Maia thought. I can?t draw anything from this angle.. She would have to move into the audience?not something she was desirous of doing, but she would gladly endure the extra body heat, if it afforded her a better view. Maia slipped through a side door and moved stealthily amidst the crowd, seeking an open spot. She found one next to a pretty Ethai?En girl, and after balancing the pad on her free arm, began to sketch. It wasn't easy to work this way. ?Hey! That?s really good!? She jumped, surprised, and made a stray mark. The Ethai?En winced. ?Sorry . . .? she whispered, her voice much more subdued than before. Maia scowled down at the paper. Did she need to have ?antisocial? branded on her forehead before people would decide to stop making small talk? Well, there was little point in continuing this exercise in futility. She?d gotten a few good drawings out of Shrai?i?s act, and the other dancers seemed to be far less skilled. The show wouldn?t be over for at least another hour, so she might as well get some fresh air. Maia wound her way outdoors, stuffing the sketchbook back inside her coat. It was a gorgeous evening, gentle and cool. As a thief, Maia was accustomed to working in the dark, and she was familiar with nearly every constellation that glittered in the clear spring sky. Breca had taught her to navigate by the stars. And as an artist, she loved the grandeur and beauty of the dark heavens above. Maia gazed up at the sliver-shaped moon as she walked, wandering aimlessly from street to street. Her infallible sense of direction would eventually lead her back to the bar, but for now, she was content to simply kill time. She blinked to clear her vision, and muttered the names of celestial bodies under her breath as she went. Several minutes had passed when a pebble struck her square between the eyes. Maia yelped and whirled around, whipping out one of her knives. ?Hey!? she shouted, brandishing the blade for emphasis. ?What the hell was that for!?? A tall, dark-haired man was walking past her, kicking at stones in the street as he slouched by. He seems familiar? Maia decided to ignore this unwanted thought, and instead chose to glower in the Tal?Iiren?s direction. He remained thoroughly oblivious. She noted with some bemusement that his tail was drooping. ?Weird,? the girl muttered. But her annoyance soon got the better of her. That rock had stung. ?Where do you think you?re going?? she demanded, trotting up to him. ?C?mon, at least say you?re sorry!? He paused and turned towards her, tail twitching in bewilderment. Maia shot the man a quick, resentful stare and pointed her knife straight at his nose, her eyes gleaming golden in the dim light. A split second later, she recoiled. What was Mr. Popularity doing out here? ?You hit me,? she said accusingly, suddenly feeling extremely foolish. ?I mean? one of your pebbles hit me. You kicked it, and it?? Though he was confused, the Tal?Iiren had to try not to smile. Maia was beginning to gibber rather badly. ?I get the idea,? he cut in. The girl looked first at him, then at her dagger, which still hovered an inch or so away from his face, its razor-sharp edge shimmering in the moonlight. She sighed and stepped back, sheathing the knife. He continued to watch her, now more curious than irritated. Maia tugged nervously at her braid as she thought. Why did his tail insist on drooping like that? Just looking at it was making her depressed. By her reckoning, at least three-fourths of an hour remained before she would have to return. Maia crossed her arms. Where?s the fan club when I need ?em? she wondered. If they?d come, I wouldn?t have bothered pulling a knife on him or anything. I certainly wouldn?t have given him a second glance. ?Let me rephrase that,? she finally said. ?Don?t you work at the bar? What?re you doing out here, anyway??
11. I wanted to make a banner that showed all three of Sephiroth's incarnations--in FFVII, Kingdom Hearts, and now, Advent Children. I think I like it, although I wish I could've found a better screenshot from KH.... there just wasn't much to choose from. ~Dagger~
12. Haha, great last line. Very..... punny..... Math does weird things to one's brain, but I do like this poem. ~Dagger~
13. I like that a lot.... it looks really cool, and because there isn't too much color, the yellow really stands out. The text fits especially well, too, and the background helps to give a sense of motion. Nice work! ~Dagger~
14. The "guy who resembles Sora" is holding the "Promise" Keyblade (or whatever it's called.... anyway, if I'm seeing correctly, it has the charm that Kairi gave Sora in KH). The other guy's hair looks more reddish than pink to me.... and I agree, his weapons seem very cool indeed. Sora appears a bit older/more mature. Or maybe it's just that he's wearing darker clothes. ^_^;; ~Dagger~
15. Good: Yu Yu Hakusho. Despite the fact that they altered a lot of the dialogue, I like this dub, because all of the English voice actors are exceptional. They sound a lot more natural than those in many other dubs. Kurama's English voice is quite different from his Japanese voice, but both portray him well. Voices of a Distant Star.... the single best dub I have ever seen. I actually prefer the American voices. RahXephon. Although I didn't like Chris Patton as much in Full Metal Panic, he made a perfect Ayato. ADV really hit the spot with this one. Worst: Yu Gi Oh... *cringes*.... I don't even want to talk about it... it's just too painful... Vampire Princess Miyu OAVs. The most hideous dub I've ever had the misfortune to hear. Maybe it's because these OAVs are from the 80s, and so they were dubbed earlier than many other shows. Either way, the English acting is painfully bad, and NONE of the voices suit any of the characters. They have a middle-aged woman voicing a young, pretty schoolgirl..... and it just goes downhill from there. In between: Inuyasha: Some of the voices are good. Inuyasha's English voice actor, Richard Cox, sounds exactly like his Japanese voice actor. Kagome's voice actress, however, is absolutely dreadly to listen to. She sounds too young, too flighty, and overall makes Kagome a rather unlikeable character. Full Metal Panic: Ehh... all the English actors are talented, there's no questioning that. I just don't feel like they captured the spirit of the original Japanese voices. Maybe there was something lost in translation... I dunno. Read or Die: This dub is actually pretty good, except for the fact that Yomiko's English voice is way more whiny, and therefore more irritating, than her Japanese voice. ~Dagger~
16. This has never happened before. Aissa thought, struggling to remain calm. She had complete faith in her healing powers, and it shook her that this thing?whatever it was?could interfere with what came to her so easily and naturally. Leile watched Muis-ka, her eyes bright and anxious. If only she could help? Aissa frowned, focusing on the air around her. That presence had passed by her once again, so swiftly that she?d barely sensed it. All the same, it had definitely been there. She offered her patient a reassuring smile before turning to face Leile. Her words, low and even, masked her growing unease. ?Could anyone be ?. watching us?? The smaller woman shook her head, making her hair ornaments tinkle like so many tiny bells. ?Not that I can tell,? she said. ?What do you mean?? Muis-ka whispered, glancing nervously from side to side. He shifted beneath Aissa?s hands, clearly agitated. ?You may as well give up hope.? All three jerked, startled. A powerfully built Ethai?En stood before them. He held a mage?s rod, but his arms were covered in tattoos of the blackest ink: words written in all manner of languages and long-dead scripts. And though the man was cloaked, the clothing that lay beneath did little to conceal his well-sculpted form. He gazed down at them, smiling pleasantly. Aissa stared back, unsure whether she should be angry or frightened. He carried a sacred staff, the kind gifted only to the most powerful of white sorcerers. Yet?there was something deeply wrong about him, and it disturbed her that she couldn?t place her finger on it. Leile straightened up and spoke, surprising the other woman. ?Who are you?? she demanded. ?There?s always hope. You?ve got a lot of nerve to tell Muis-ka otherwise.? ?Mmm,? he murmured, sweeping a graceful bow. ?Point taken, young lady. You may call me Anubis. It seems that you could use my help.?
17.
Originally posted by Sephiroth FMP is good, I'm waiting for FMP2 to be released, should be good, jolly good! Chidori is a good character, her and Sagara are a good comedy combination. The only thing that I am slightly disappointed with though is the action, it's simply too short (or maybe I was expecting Gundam style fight's  ).
I actually liked the action. Sure, it's short, but the rest of the show isn't exactly boring. I'll take short, creative, well-animated fights over endlessly long, repetitive battles any day. Not to say that Gundam style fights aren't good--I like Gundam quite a bit. But I was very impressed with FMP's action sequences.... they're almost cinema quality. ~Dagger~
18. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that you
kill Hojo
during the game. Anyway, it's not like the original Sephiroth would have aged very much over two years.... if he had somehow survived, there would be little reason for him to look any different. Remember, if two years passed, Cloud would only be 23. ~Dagger~
19.
Originally posted by ssjBrolli Sorry I was in a rush. I just heared this from a reliable source. The video's: Deep Dive and Other side, Other story they both Have nothing to do with KH II. Is that more clearer? I was in a rush to get to class.
Er.... what "reliable source" are you referring to? I'm a little dubious about what you're saying. After all, why would they make the Deep Dive trailer if it actually had nothing to do with KH-II? ............. I don't think Squenix would go to all that trouble just to make people confused..... ~Dagger~
20. Hmm. I like the idea, but the anime and game images don't blend very well. If you can, I would suggest finding a game character sketch, or a less fuzzy image (such as the one in your avatar). The background is eye-catching and creative, but it would look better if you used a simpler font for your text. The font effects yoru have right now detract a little from the rest of the picture. Aura is a fairly colorless character (that's a weird way of putting it...), so you might want to consider toning down the background a little, just to see how it looks. Right now, it overwhelms the pictures of her a little bit. Anyway, great effort. It's a lovely second banner. ^__^ ~Dagger~
21. I agree with maladjusted. Much like flattery, groveling can get you very far indeed. I do have friends who are into video games and anime, but all of them are guys. My female friends just think of my interest in VGs and anime as one of my quirks, which I suppose it is. It's a shame, though.... there are times when I'd love to have another fangirl to squeal--er, to discuss things with. ~Dagger~
22. Just ask her. Smile, be nice and courteous (when you don't know how to act, it's always safe to play the gentleman). If you have confidence in your sense of humor, try to make her laugh. That always helps to break the ice/ease the tension. Anyway, it's not such a big deal. All you need to do is ask. ~Dagger~
23. So the shadow has spread? He could feel it down to the core of his being: an odd, tugging sort of sensation. Others might fear the sickness, the darkening skies, but Anubis was a black mage?one of the strongest?and though he?d left Ma?Uriith, the curse still called him. He stood silently amidst the chattering crowds of Tal?Ebot?s largest marketplace: a tall, elegant figure who might have gone unnoticed, were it not for the elaborate designs tattooed upon his hands and arms. Unsurprisingly, Ethai?Ens tended to have excellent hearing. Anubis may have enhanced his with a spell or two? yet if he did, it was a subtle magic, and was not discovered by even the closest Frae-Rens. He gazed meditatively at his staff, listening to the various conversations that were taking place around him. ?I hope, for Ma?Uriith?s sake, that you can help me?? A rough, weary voice. Interesting? Anubis glanced up, his eyes flicking towards the ornamental fountain that stood a short distance away. The speaker was another Ethai?En, who could easily have been around his age. Yet while Anubis appeared calm and strangely ageless, this man seemed worn, broken, ravaged by some nameless illness. The mage smiled, his lips curving in a subtle expression of what could have been mirth, fascination, or something else entirely. He made his way towards the Ethai?En and his two companions. The tattoos began to shift, their patterns growing darker, sharper, wilder. But no one was watching. For the moment, he went unseen.
24. That's a really good idea, Debresko. Thanks! Once I make a nice-looking avatar, I'll try it out. ~Dagger~
25. I strongly doubt that Mickey is the main character, although he probably plays a much larger role than in the first Kingdom Hearts. Just looking at the pictures and the Deep Dive trailer, I don't see much to indicate that Mickey would be the main character. It'll probably be Sora, or possibly Riku. ~Dagger~
