1. Hm. It seems that for a long time, specifically in the year Generic stated, there was a lot of controversy and talk about all children's programs. Teletubbies, Blues Clue's, Barney, etc. Now, I have 2 nieces, and they absolutely loved Blue's Clues and Teletubbies. I didn't mind Blue's Clues; I actually enjoyed it, and hated the people who tried to peg that show for being anything more than a children's program. Teletubbies on the other hand frightened me. There is just something about them that freaked me out. It wasn't only because of that feeling that I didn't like this show for my nieces; it was because the program just wasn't as educational and helpful to a child's mind developement as Blue's Clues or Barney. The baby gibberish doesn't help a child speak much better. And its a proven fact that if you talk to your child [at toddler age] on a normal, adult level, that your child has a better chance at speaking properly. Talking all baby-like doesn't do anything for their speech development.....Anyhow, the whole controversy around Teletubies could be true. It could be some producer who couldn't make it with a certain idea, got pissed off, and decided to get back at people. It's been true for so many movies, television productions, and most definitely in music. Controversy or not, Teletubbies was not a good show for children; be it because of the sex, drugs and horrible messages, or lack of proper child development.

  3. Dude, I've seen girls smaller than me (I'm standing at 5'2, weighing 120lbs) rip it up in the pit. It's kinda scary, lol. I guess, you just want to jump and lash out with the music--especially, if you can relate to the music/songs. When you get into a song, you sort of just feel it, and it takes control. Some people will tell you that they like pain, some people will say that they have a lot of anger to release, and the pit is a very good place to release it. Or, some people are ***holes and want to hurt other people--I've seen that too.

  5. Eh, my humor isn't as wacky, absurdly random, or silly, but I'll give it a shot. Code Name / Call Sign- Baby Punk Gender- Female Location- Born and raised in Venice, California--wound up in Gatorville, Florida (explained in history) Age- 17 Personal Appearance - Kate Carmine, aka ?Baby Punk?, stands around 5?5?, weighing in around 115 lbs. Evenly proportioned, her body is complemented with long, slender legs, curvy torso, and a graceful neck. Living most of her life on a surfboard and skateboard, Kate?s chocolate brown hair has been bleached by the sun and salty air into a light, dirty blonde; her natural hair color can only be seen from root of the hair to about three inches down. She normally keeps it in a very messy bun on the crown of her head, with a few chunks dangling right under her chin. The loose chunks of her hair are usually dyed funky blues, greens, and pinks; accenting her aqua blue eyes. You?d normally see Kate wearing pleated, faded and worn blue jean skirt, a pair of hot pink spandex shorts underneath, a pair of neon orange, sheer knee-high stockings, an over-sized, loose white T-shirt with a local band?s logo, and a pair of old school Vans skate shoes. Her face, which earned her the nick name ?Baby? because it is so delicate and child-like, is speckled with light brown freckles and silver piercing. All together, from her face and body, Kate has 5 piercing. One in her bottom lip, one in her tongue, two on her nose (one for each nostril), and one in her belly button. Find it odd that she doesn?t have her ears pierced? Well, that can be blamed on her best friend for trying to pierce her ears with a knife. Since that day, Kate?s been terrified to let anyone go near her ears. Personality/Behavior- Kate has that stereotypical ?surfer? attitude. She?s happy-go-lucky, fun-loving, lazy, but energetic. Surfing and skating, listening and playing music, partying and hanging around is a typical day for her. Though she doesn?t like to steal the spotlight, Kate always draws the attention whenever she enters a room full of people. Perhaps this is why her band chose her to be the lead vocalist. Personal History- Kate was born to a mother, Pamela, a ?one hit wonder musician, who made many pathetic attempts to come back, even changed her image but still failed, and is now too old to come back but still tries?, and a father who lives off of his wife?s benefits and has become the ?housewife?, Clyde. The first few years of Kate?s life were composed of constant traveling, living in a tour bus and off of room service. Tired of this lifestyle, Clyde decided that it was enough and left his wife at the bus station in Tallahassee, Florida to head back to Venice, California. He took only enough money to get home, and his daughter. Though their marriage was hardly a marriage at all, Pamela sent money each month to support her family. Clyde finally found a small job in a local convenient store and gave Kate all that he could. But, no matter how much money, love, and affection he gave her, Kate still resented and needed her mother. There were just some things that only a mother could offer. Despite her mother?s absence, Kate grew up happy and full of friends. At the age of 13, Kate and a few of her close friends banded together to make, well, a punk band. Kate became lead vocalist and lead guitarist, and got the idea to become better than her mother. For the years to come, Kate never went one day without practicing and striving to get to the top. She got a lucky break at the age of 16 when her band, named ?The Bleach Chicks?, were offered to headline for the most popular punk rock band on the West Coast. Talent scouts quickly snatched them up, and offered the world--until they discovered Kate?s background. The record label was cancelled, and all the bands? hopes were shattered. Angry with Kate, the band dispersed and went their own ways to land deals. Kate was left with nothing but a solid ticket of being the laughing stock of Venice. The embarrassment was too much to bear. Kate withdrew all the money she had saved, packed up in the middle of the night, and ran away to Gatorville, Florida. Why this place? Well, Kate had overheard a fellow musician chatting about the infinite opportunities to land it big time. Soon after moving in, Kate changed her name to avoid anymore embarrassing and disappointing rejections. She goes by the name Katie Blackburn by day, Baby Punk by night. Kate (as we?ll continue to call her) still struggles to survive, not many Southerners took kindly to her extreme punk, airy, open California personality. During the day, Kate holds down a retail job. Her nights, she performs a solo act in several different show rooms, bars, high school proms, and the such. She?s formulated a band, not much, but something. They called themselves ?The Bikini Bandits? (okay, so I loved that title >>;; ). Soon, crime started to filter into the peaceful part of town where Kate and the band lived. It began to get so bad, that the band couldn?t get gigs because the bars were forced to close early. Restrictions of where the band was allowed to perform also came into effect. This, was the last straw, the Bandits decided. It was time to take action and rid the once welcoming city of its crippling plague. Kate turned her band into a small group of ?crime fighters?; they are named??The Bikini Bandits?. Their sex appeal, punk attitudes, and bad tempers was a force to be reckoned with. The group was put in the spotlight one day at a bank robbery just blocks away from the police station. You see, the Bikini Bandits showed up in their array of bathing suits--all just three minutes too late. The police did do justice and saved the bank, but were interrogated, and soon fired, after taking the girls into ?custody?. Special Skills or Abilities- Being just a human, teenaged girl, Kate has no mutations or magic skills; but it is said that her guitar riffs can shatter glass and deafen a person. Of course, that is a rumor................>_>; She usually carries her guitar in a sling that is slung around her back. Also, her punk temper can be violent in the form of ?moshing?, if you?ve ever heard of it. When in a crowd of people, and her anger surfaces, Kate lashes out with her legs, arms, and body. It?s simple and popular to other young punks, but it is effective to get the job done when it is necessary---and sometimes unnecessary.
  6.
"...You need to get your eggs from myOtaku Town, which is only so far from here.?
That line just made me chuckle. So much behind that line that makes it ironic. Anyhow, I'd like to personally say that your parody's are getting better each time. Not that anything before this wasn't good--they most indeed were, but this one really suckered me in from the get go. Normally, I have to force myself to read any stories in the Anthology. I think I like the balance between Dusty DW and White the Kid. On one hand, you have the laid back jokester, and on the other you have the serious thinker. Without one or the other, I don't think this story would be as even and smooth as it is so far.
  7.
What is the deal with everyone going against everything i put down here? OK just post if your gonna tell about any concerts or tours. and any more band bashing and i'll take it to your band.
Firstly, calm down, man. So people don't like SoaD as much as you do; everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Having a fit over it isn't going to help the situation. Secondly, I would like to say that I find SoaD's radio aired stuff to be not so great as their older stuff. But, I work at Hot Topic, where I get the pleasure of listening to whatever I want; and it's usually loads of SoaD (depending who's all working), and I will say that their albums [all of them] are pretty damned good. I'm not one to bash a band based on one or two songs. Yeah, one or two of their songs I'll find annoying and played out, but that's still no grounds to shame them. So, all of SoaD's stuff is bittersweet. Some of it isn't too good, some of it is awesome. You take the good with the bad. Easy as that. I like SoaD, it's a band that I can find challenging to listen to. I mean their lyrics are a mix of very serious issues, and happy-go-lucky comedy. But, also there is a lot of things to look into in their music/lyrics--which is what is draws me into music. Moving on topic, I listed in my previous post what bands I know of that are touring in my area, don't think it really helps you out though =/
  8. I just found my guilty pleasure today. It was at work [at Hot Topic]. One of my assistant managers and I discovered this together because it is her guilty pleasure as well--and we'd be the last people whom you'd ever peg for this. We like Fall Out Boy, and we listen to the entire album at least once a week when we work together. But, we aren't stock raving crazy about them. We are not fan girls. We just happen to like the music. :animesigh EDIT- Haha @ CHW, I'm glad I'm not the only one.
  9. ;_; That was tragic. It was so sad to see Trevor and Jamie die like that--but true love took them both to a better place. And you shot me, you bastard! XD Kidding, of course. I'll agree with Jamie, the writing has gotten better through the chapters. I think you're starting to pour your emotions into this story, and that's how a writer becomes great. That's how stories become heart-felt, not just by the author, but by the readers. Keep it up.
  10. I'll refrain from stating the obvious, and what's already been said. I've been only to a few shows in my life, but the most recent one was to see [The] Misfits. There was like 5 local bands opening for them, and the concert was in The Chance in Poughkepsie here in NY. Now, if anyone else is from this area of NY, you might know that The Chance is sooo small. The "pit" area is really tiny, and that night the pit area was overloaded with people. The entire area was just one, huge, and very violent mosh pit. I'm telling you, people came out of the pit with broken legs, ankles, and coming out concussed. It was pretty bad. But the concert rocked the house. That place was way over-stocked with people. It was madness. Another concert coming up in this area is Avenged Sevenfold. I'd not planned on going--and I'm still debating on it, but I know a couple people who are and I can only imagine how the pit is going to look for that show. Let's see, Hatebreed is supposed to be up here, too. I can't remember who's touring with them.
  11. Call me crazy after reading this, but here is my list of crushes:

Maynard James Keenan-- of Tool and A Perfect Circle
Brandon Boyd-- of Incubus
Gerard Way-- of My Chemical Romance
Marilyn Manson-- of Marilyn Manson
David Havok-- of AFI
Trent Reznor-- of NIN
Dustin Kensrue-- of Thrice
Jared Leto-- of 30 Seconds to Mars
Kurt Cobain-- of Nirvana
Glenn Danzig-- of [The] Misfits
Some, if not all, of the musicians in that list are my crushes based on their music, voice, and/or personality. Granted, some of them are very physically attractive, but as you can tell--some really aren't, lol.
  12. I am 20. The youngest I've gone is my current relationship with Parabola. We're in a three year difference; you do the math. He's made me so happy, and I would wait for all eternity for him. Love has no boundaries. I fell in love with him, not his age. If he were fifteen now, I'd still wait for him.
  13.
Wouldn't trade him for the world....Except for Annie, of course! Sorry, D!
:catgirl: I feel so special! (sorry, Dennis >>;; ) I met my best friend in second grade. I had just moved to Oklahoma, and was feeling a bit lonely. I remember I was in the town playground, on the merry-go-round and was just sort of sitting there. Then, some girl walked up and asked if she could play with me. Her name was Melissa, and we were best friends from that moment on up until our sophomore year in high school when she stabbed me in the back. Since then, I don't think I've ever been so close to any other person than Joe.
  14.
Merry Christmas! (rather than 'happy holidays' which could be any time of year and celebration. -_-)
You never know who all could get offended or dislike the "Christmas". Some people don't believe in Jesus Christ, some people do. It's easier to say "Happy Holidays" as to please [obviously, almost] everyone. Here's another submission. I am actually happier with the way this one turned out, than my last two attempts.
  15. Oh, wow. I had fogotten these pictures, and what some people looked like. Even what I looked like back....2 years ago? Daaang. ....my long hair ;_;
  16. Well, for those of us who don't have an image in our signatures, it'd be cool to see what people have to say about whatever is in their signatures. But, let's get this party started. CHW- Your avatar screams colorful and energetic. Also, the girl is very pretty, and almost has an air of narsasistic personality. Doesn't make her arrogant or rude, but a bit playful and full of things to talk about. Your banner "Drive it like you stole it" says adventurous and not afraid to tackle anything that comes your way. I hope that helped to get the ball rolling. I should be pretty easy to cover >>
  17. Well, the most annoying time of my life was quite recently, and still proceeds to plague my thoughts. I moved out last month with a person we'll refer to as an aquaintence. She, wasn't the best person to try and live with. The one month I lived with her was the most stressing and annoying event in my life to date. I quickly found out that there are just some people who should remain friends you hang out with, rather than a friend you see every single day, and that you have to try to live with.
  18. Eh, well, I'd love to go with you--but I'm afraid I have no idea where you are anymore ;_; Or if my character is near you. I was gone so long, and I know I'm so behind. But if anyone needs help, and I can help, send me a message via Guild chat or PM (GW or OB).
  19. Buy a calling card, maybe? Parabola and I have been together for 2 years and 3 months on the 28th. I know exactly how hard it is to express how you truly feel. Joe and I talk all the time on AIM and by phonecalls. It can be rough, but just when things get a bit "out of sight", he always comes at me with those intimate conversations of how much I mean to him, and how much he loves me. I tell him all the time how much he means to me, and how much I love him. Sometimes, I feel that must scare him every now and again :animeswea Anyway, the point of my advice is: don't be afraid to just up and talk to your partner about how much they mean to you. You never know, maybe they're having a hard time and you telling them how special they are may give them a smile, and something to look forward to. Inspiration, motivation, attention, affection, and hope are all things you can bring into your relationship with just simple conversations. That's how Joe and I have kept going all these years.
  20. Sammy's head buzzed with thousands of thoughts. Michael's intense, relentless gaze and throwing of napkins did little to keep his mind focused. Bianca's words still echoed in his ears, Leah's anger still kept his ears warm. "Earth to Sammy. I'm growing tired of trying to help you out if you're not going to pay attention to me, man," Michael threw his arm over the back of his seat and chewed aimlessly on his straw. "I'm sorry, Michael," Sammy finally broke his gaze from the window and folded his hands behind his head, "My problem isn't so much with Quincy. Sure, I'm a bit jealous that he caught Bianca's attention. But that's no reason for me to be all pissed off at him. He's a good guy. My problem lies within Leah and her response to all of this." "What does she have to do with anything?" Michael's head tilted slightly, a bit confused and surprised. "Well, she had a crush on me. I really didn't think much of it ever, before today that is. She basically asked me today if I liked Bianca, like..really cared for her. When I said yes, she went all bananas on me and Bianca." "No way?" Michael's straw tipped and fell from his lips. "Totally, man. You know, I really don't care if she hates and resents me for the rest of her life, but it really upset me that she is being so nasty towards her best friend," Sammy shook his head and picked at his fries. "So, you confronted Leah?" "Yeah. I did." There was a small silence. Michael stared with his "Oh god, what did you do?" face. Sammy groaned and shrugged. "I didn't go ballistic or anything. I may have raised my voice. But, this whole situation is what's up with me," he took a sip of his drink, "What about you? You've got to have better news for me." "Well," Michael stretched and rubbed his fingers on his shirt, "I finally worked the nerve to talk to Brandi Morgan." "Hah, you dog! It's about damned time. Tell me, you going to the dance with her?" Sammy chuckled and leaned into the table. "Oh, yeah. Man, I was so nervous. I am surprised I didn't drop her drink," Michael's face flushed a bit. Sammy laughed softly and looked at his watch. Stretching himself, he stood up. "Well, congratulations. I think I'm going to go hit the sack," Sammy dropped a couple of dollars for his share of the dinner. "All right, man. Look," Michael stood up, "Don't let this whole thing get to you. I hate seeing you upset; it makes me upset. You still going to the dance tomorrow night?" "Eh, I guess." "Taking anyone?" "No, I'm just going to show my face, say 'hi' to some people, then probably leave. I don't know, we'll see how tomorrow goes at school," Sammy and Michael exchanged their handshake they'd made up years ago. Walking out into the busy town, Sammy grabbed a cab and headed home. After the seemingly long ride home, Sammy entered his house as quietly as he could. "It's late, Mr. Carter," his mom's voice came out of the darkness. "I'm sorry, Mum. Michael paid for dinner," he cringed, waiting for the "what are you doing eating that junk?" lecture. "I see. Well, don't let it happen again," his mom turned on the living room lamp and shook her finger at him playfully. "Yes, ma'am!" Sammy mocked a salute and ran upstairs. He entered his room and plopped down on his bed. Without removing anything other than his shoes, he curled up and tried to calm his mind to get some rest. Today was full of excitement, and he knew tomorrow was only going to get even more complicated.
  21. "Who the hell does he think he is..Eh, whatever. I'm done with this. If Leah wants to hate me, fine. If Alex wants to hate me, fine. I just hope Leah and Bianca make up. I don't care who ends up wanting to kick my rear in the end, I just don't want to drag Bianca into this mess..." Sammy sighed heavily. His angered stride soon slowed to a melow saunter. He stood at a street light, waiting for the right time to cross the street. He wanted to see Bianca, but was afraid she'd get upset if she saw the look in his eyes. In any case, Sammy reached into his pocket to grab his cell phone. "I suppose I should call her, though.." he thought, dialing Bianca's number. He waited a few rings and started to cross the road. "Hello Sammy!" Bianca's voice perked, "Are you okay?" "I'll be all right, I suppose. As long as you're okay, I'm fine. You still at the cafe?" "Well, I'm just about to leave. You going home?" Sammy hoped the curve and weaved in and out of the crowd of people. "Yeah, I'm giong to head home. I was going to stop by the cafe if you wanted me to walk you home." "Oh, I would love that," her voice sounded soft, so soft that Sammy wasn't sure if she was hesitating, or being sweet. "You sure? I don't want to be all up in your space or anythi--" "Sammy, I would love it if you walked me home." Sammy smiled, he knew Bianca was sincere. Saying his goodbye, he hung up and turned back to trot back to the cafe.

The high school I went to has NJROTC [Navy]. I was a part of the NJROTC for 2 years, and in that time I went from being a low rank to an officer and command of a platoon. That was roughly around 150 students I was in charge of during that time. It was pretty fun, our commander was really awesome.
  23. So, the whole idea of the teachers going psycho is out of the question? Or...what's really going to happen, lol. I tried to push that idea through with an after-school meeting, but that didn't seem to fit in with other people's posting.... I say we all gather together somehow at this dance, and figure out what we are going to do.
  24. It's hard to get good pictures of Christmas-y anime/manga. But, here's my whack at the anime style. I might spin out a couple more when I get more time. I'm just not that great with loads of colour >_>; ^Has sentimental value. 25. OOC: That part where Leah said she didn't think they were friends anymore really screwed me up, lol. I just went through this situation, quite recently, and it's infuriating. But, this is okay, hopefully it'll give me inspiration. Sammy was fumming. Never, and he meant, never had he been so angry with a girl. "What in bloody hell is her problem? She's acting so childishly about this," Sammy slapped his hand on the bar, shaking his glass and scaring Bianca. "Sammy, you can't be angry--" "And why not?! I've apologized. You've apologized. She's obviously got a thing for Alex. So why should this be such a problem? She should be happy. Why do you and I have to be the ones to struggle with it while she's off making up for it with him?" Sammy just about clothes-hanged a passing teenager as he pointed sharply towards the door. "I know this is infuriating, Sammy. But, we did keep it a secret," Bianca tried to calm Sammy, holding onto his arm. "Secrets, huh? She never mentioned Alex to me, did she slip it to you at all?" Sammy's eyes glistened with a bubbling anger. Bianca stared back, her face flooded with concern. "I didn't think so. I'm tired of this crap. Here me? Sick of it," with that Sammy jumped onto the bar, "Everyone, listen up. My name is Sammy, I'm 18 years old, and I love Bianca with all my heart." Sammy pointed down at a now cherry red-faced Bianca. She tried to force a smile and wave, but ended up tugging at Sammy's pant leg. "Get down from my bar, Sammy. Before you get thrown out," Michael urged, nodding towards the bouncer, "Please, I don't want to see you tossed like a rag doll." Sammy nodded and jumped down, planting his palms on his face. He felt Bianca's tender hand run up his arm. He looked up at her, pleading not to tell him "This will all be okay". She only rested her face against his shoulder. Even through his shirt, he could feel the intense heat of her cheeks. "Sorry for putting you on the spot," he finally managed. Bianca shook her head and sat back to look at him. "Do you want to hang out later? I'm going to go confront her," Sammy stood up. "Uh, I don't know if that's such a good idea," Bianca stood also. "No, it's a brilliant idea. If something doesn't get done, this is just going to fester and turn into a monster. A monster that's just going to eat and devour our happiness, and hers," Sammy paid for their drinks, and anyone elses he ruined from jumping on the bar. "Well, you do what you feel you have to do. Give me a call afterwards, okay?" Bianca poked Sammy in the chest. "Of course, be careful going home," Sammy leaned in and kissed her on the forehead. He turned and started down the street. He caught a glimpse of the couple as they exited earlier, and went in the direction they had. He was a bit behind, but his long strided pace made it easier for him to try and catch up. He jumped to look above the crowd and spotted Alex's head. A rush of excitement and adrenaline rushed through him, and in no time, Sammy was trotting in front of them. Leah's eyes glared ice daggers, and if looks could kill, Sammy would've fallen down instantly. "You want to hurt me some more, Sam?" she spat, stepping up a few feet towards him. "You know what, yeah, I will," Sammy folded his arms, "Listen, I don't appreciate this attitude you're giving me. But most of all, I can't tolerate it being directed at Bianca. She had nothing to do with this. She had no idea what my feelings were until about an hour ago. So whatever animosity you have towards her needs to end right here. The last thing she'd ever want to do is hurt you," Sammy dropped his arm, as if he were ready to pounce, "As for me, I really don't want to have these hurtful and hateful feelings towards you. I want to see you happy, I want to see you laugh and smile." Sammy placed his hands on her shoulders, softening his tone of voice. "It upset me when you said I lied to you about Bianca. How could I lie if you asked me today, and I told you the truth? How could I lie when no one else knew? How could I be so horrible for this lying, when you never told me about Alex? Not that it matters now, but the point is, don't hate me for lying--when you do it too," Sammy let go, pushing her back slightly, "If you don't want to be friends with me anymore, fine. Whatever. As long as you're happy, I don't care. I just want this hate to end. Bianca wants this to end. And I know, deep inside your stubborn self, you want this to end." Sammy took a couple of paces back and turned to walk away.
