1. So yeah, that's [ASCENDED] Belial in her new Tormentor armor, dyed black. The Ascension mission was no cake walk for me. Not that it wasn't hard, it was just--a nightmare. Basically, if you don't know about GW, when you go to ascend, you fight your mirror. Whatever skills you take with you into battle, the mirror uses against you. It took me loads of times to "trial and error" the whole thing..but being a pure caster is difficult. What ended up happening was that I tossed ALL of my Mesmer skills, and used only 2 Necro skills. That's right, only 2. Take that and stick it in your back pocket. Now, mind you, I had decoys...and to my joy and victory, the plan worked. Necromancers have several skills that require a certain percentage of health points to take their affect. This would be bad for me if I used them. Because I would be more vulnerable to getting more damage, and health points taken away. However, I took three skills that required sacrifice and set them at the end of my skill bar so I wouldn't accidentally use them, and hoped he would use them. Then I took 3 other skills that did direct damage. Used Skill Set 1.) Shadow of Fear- Hex Spell. Target foe and all adjacent foes attack are 50% slower for the next 20 (flexible depending on attributes) seconds. [Curses] -->Used once. 2.) Vile Touch- Spell. Touch target foe to deal 49 (flexible depending on attributes) damage. [Death] -->Used several times, close combat. 3.) Vampiric Gaze- Steal 54 (flexible depending on attributes) health from target foe. [Blood] -->Used several times, close range or ranged combat. Bait Skill Set 1.) Demonic Flesh- Enchantment Spell. Sacrifice 20% max health. For 56 (depend on attributes) seconds, your maximum health is increased by 184 (depends on attributes). [Blood] 2.) Chilblains- Spell. You become Poisoned for 5 (depends on attributes) seconds. Nearby foe is struck for 20 (depends on attributes) cold damage and loses one Enchantment. [Curses] 3.) Dark Pact- Spell. Sacrifice up to 10% max health and deal 43 (depends on attributes) shadow damage to target foe. [Blood] So, my loophole was in the very begining. He immediately casted Demonic Flesh on himself, then Chilblains. Baaad move. I then struck him with Shadow of Fear, and continued to pelt him with an alternation of Vampiric Gaze and Vile Touch. It was a topsy turvy dance, and I got soooo close 2 times. But what do I always say? Third time's the charm. Yes...that third time, he and I were both down to like double-digit (LOW double-digit) health, and my V. Gaze was my salvation. I saw my health going down and couldn't stop it, but the V. Gaze recharged in the nick of time. So, I repeatedly hit the designated button, and casted..he dropped, I got my 1,000 points and skill point and went on my merry way. Tra-la. So the moral, he poisoned himself and sacrificed his health, to death. Poor him.

Hehe, I didn't see it on T.V, but James sent me a link that played the [audio] of the show where they announced MyOtaku.com as the number 1 live journal website. It's crazy to listen to it and try to keep a cool; I nearly flew up out of my chair when I heard it. I mean, I've been a member of MyOtaku.com for 2 years, and to hear that it got that much recognition to be on television--it's just awesome. A phrase from the audio is in my signature XD It's just a thrilling feeling.
3. There's no reason to be too concerned with the ratings. They are there because 1) it's required and 2) it helps members decide whether they'd like to be a part of the content within the RPG. Now, I see where you were going with the [M-SLV] tags, and no harsh content. People slap that tag on there for the possibility of adult content. The RPG doesn't necessarily have to use sex or violence for every post to qualify for the [M-SLV] tag. If there's a possibility that the RPG migh contain that usage, then it's best to let members know. Sometimes an RPG doesn't need that sort of usage, then sometimes it will. It's just a scapegoat, or a crutch. I could make an RPG that might contain sexual content, or very brash/grotesque violence, but not throughout it. I'd still want to put that [M-SV possible] sticker there. I don't want to get into the middle of the RPG and finally have use for that sticker, then offend someone with it, understand? It's a warning for either jumping into the sex, violence, and language straight from the get-go, or later on in the story. Edit:
Maybe there should be a more clear explanation of how you rate threads. That, or the moderators themselves should check each thread and add ratings to it. Lots of work, but it seems to be necessary if you want to continue on using the rating system
That's asking so much time from the moderator in charge. There are several RPGs that get created within a day to few days time, it would be a tough job to go through each and every one. Then, deciding what should be rated as "mature" or not...time consumption to the max. I think this was an issue when the rating rule first went into act. It would just be so much of a hassle.
4. Customizing your signature is a luxury we have here at the OB. You can always link your website to your signature ^_^ Edit: Looks like you already did that :p But as far as a forum goes, I don't think it would happen. There are forums where you can discuss websites, like Petie said. Having a seperate forum would probably start to breed tons of spam.
5. Ima has a point. The shadows/highlights on the girl against a pitch black background just doesn't mix, da'ling. The direction of light hitting the girl sticks out because the background doesn't give a source of either light or a shadow of the girl herself. Other than that, the quality of the picture is fabulous. I love browns and neutral colors, and having so much flat/plain colors come out as clearly and clean mesmerizes me every single time. Loverly job.
6. I think the point of Attimus's intentions with this discussion has blown far past relevance. Being minor until the age of 18 is not a big deal. Most of today's youth start progressing towards adulthood when they get their driver's liscense. That is a teen's first, and terribly important, responsibility. I find it reasonable to have the "21 to drink alcohol" policy due to the fact that if it were allowed for younger groups to drink, the toll of fatalities caused by drinking and driving would drastically climb; simply because a 16-year-old wouldn't have much experience behind the wheel as it were, then add toxins to that? Heh. So, the restrictions are there for a reason. But does that make someone an adult? Not necessarily. The answer lies within, and it's been repeated and beaten, maturitiy. And on an ending note:
These last few posts are irrelevant, and consist of only one or two sentences. This is a warning. Please remain on the topic at hand, and increase your posting quality for this thread. This is directed towards Attimus331, and Ilium, but it goes for everyone else.

7. I used to live in Oklahoma, and lived there for over half of my life. I don't have pictures or anything, but there is a town in Northeastern Oklahoma that has the same name as my last name: Geary. Yeah, I remember I was in OKC one time, and saw a sign for it. It's kind of creepy, and makes me wonder about my heritage. And I hope my family history had nothing to do with Oklahoma, lol. But that would be crazy if it did. Geary, Oklahoma. And I never visited.
8. 18 is the legal age of an "adult", however, I don't think anyone's an adult until they can take care of themselves and accept the responsibilities of adulthood. Some people at the age of 30 something still can't take care of themselves, and I'm not meaning by a genetic disorder, or some other hendurance that they are not in control of. I am meaning people who are fully capable of taking care of themselves, but choose to toss the responsibility baton to other people. I don't feel there is a specific age for being an adult, but the law slaps it on 18 because it is the age where you are sent out into the world to become an adult.
9. Hm, it sounds like your boyfriend doesn't want to "overpower" you in-game. Maybe he feels that if he plays to his potential/his rules, it might upset you or discourage you from playing. It's that, or he doesn't feel challenged. I'm sorry if that sounded rude and cold of me, but those are the only two reasons I can think of. And I don't like bull-facing people. Perhaps you should talk to him, ask him why he doesn't like playing with you.
10. Awesome, it's good to hear from you. Take care of yourself. What are you doing in Washington? I thought you were stationed in North/South Dakota..?
11. Chobits was wonderful. I thoroughly enjoyed the manga series, and I've only seen 4 episodes of the anime; but that will change some day, heh. Clamp is an amazing company, and I love the manga that I'm collecting from them. I've got the entire Chobits line, and I'm currently collecting Tsubasa: The Resevoir Chronicles and xXx-Holic. Both of which coencide with each other, and are pretty fun. I suggest those two if you haven't picked them up already.
12. Hello there, thank you for sharing your art. I'd like to tell you that I expect to see you around more. Also comment on this piece. I'll start off by letting you know that I really appreciate black and white works, and simplicity. Your piece looks simple enough, but I know it wasn't easy. And it also looks like a cover art for the manga; as if it could be the artwork in between/introducing chapters. My only beef with this piece it the back of the chair. The lines go straight up and off of the top of the page, and gives no definition of it being a chair. If you had given it that finished building block at the top, I would be more convinced that it was a chair. There are visible outlines on his feet, but are barely noticible, and aren't something you should stress about. The quality of the entire piece makes up for it. Very streamlined and crisp, non-fuzzy which is hard to accomplish with such harsh contrast. My favorite aspect is his right hand. Hands are extremely difficult for me, and to many other artists. But you've captured perfect proportion, and posture with this right hand. The seam of the glove along the inside of the hand--wonderful. Now, the left hand looks a bit smaller than it should be. I feel that one could've taken a little more time. The good outweighs the bad, trust me. Very impressive piece, and I look forward to more.
13. I just want to throw in that Riverside Province mission/and bonus rocks the game. That was the funnest mission I've ever done in the game as of yet. Alex, Neil, and I grouped up to do the mission. The first time was horrible. We had this monk slash wannabe ranger, who constantly ignored what Alex and Neil tried to say. He drew us into consecutive ambushes, and denied that he was trying to tank. I died twice because of his ignorance to heal when I needed it, and Alex was too busy trying to save his and 2 other's skins to cast Well of Blood--no thanks to this monk. I swear, I thought I was going to blow my cap--and Neil as well. But the monk left with the note "you guildies suck, i'm out", or something of that nature. Not like his absence was noticed. In fact, the three of us made it a good decent way before getting mobbed. The second time around was a better experience. In fact, it was this time around that we pwnd that mission. We had a primary Mesmer (which rocked my socks) with a secondary Ranger, and a Warrior/pothead, lol. That guy was so funny. I don't even remember his secondary profession, but this guy paused us once so he could take a drag XD He was really mellow and surprisingly on top of his game. Those two really helped us out a lot. We completed the bonus and the mission. But what I really think helped us out a chunk were Neil's strategies, and the other two member's willingness to listen and attack on command. Neil pulled us through what seemed to be an impossible attack with quick thinking and planning ahead. He saved us loads of stress, and managed to watch everyone's backs. Very impressive work, thanks Neil. Belial Hades made it to level 20! because of that mission, and a wonderful team. Also, Neil made it to level 20 as well. Not during/after the mission, though, so we had to go outside of Sanctum Cay to kill a dozen or so beasts. Last night was a happy and joyous time, a sour start turned to sugar.
14. Hey Jeremy, your PM option is on the side bar menu to the left. It's right under the default "Welcome, [member name]" and when you last visited greeting. Just click on that, and it's going to take you to an inbox, where you'll see more options in the side bar menu. That's for that...however, to "apply" to the GFX, you have to e-mail Retribution why you would be interested, and if you'd be up for battling. You can find his e-mail in his profile..and to do that, all you have to do is click on his name to view his profile. ^_^ I hope that helps you out.
15. Woo! More artworks! Me likes. These Hands are Devils- Absolutely love it. I'm a huge fan of simplicity, as the rest of the members of the GFX Club will tell you. It's a simple picture, but not too simple as to where it's drab and boring. I love the colors, so surreal and dizzying. The swirling is not overbearing of the picture, which is beautiful. Overexaggeration is a turn off, major. The Concubine Logo- All I see when I look at this is machinery. Gears turning and grinding. I like how it melts together--the font and the "gears", as I'm going to dub them, lol. House of the Living Dead Logo- I'm not particularly fond of this one. Not because of the gore and junk like that, but the quality of the graphic is kind of weak. The chains really bug me ^_^;; They're really pixelated and too "stiff". The bone that is flying outward is kind of out of place..like, it's too big to have come from the body, and is just out on its lonesome. The last thing is the font. I feel it's too blurry, and is hard to read. It's an ominous style, but the fuzziness is a no-go. I'm sure Helba's got a hold of you already, and I would like to see more from you. Keep it up, and stick around.
16. Even if it doesn't seem like much has been done, I'll commend you on them. Why? Because the quality is pretty damned good for Paint. I've tried to make banners from Paint, and failed miserably. They always came out pixely and choppy. The only one I didn't like was the first attachment. The circles and shapes that were put in there just stick out and kind of make my lip curl. But, other than that one, amazing job.
17. 'ello there, I'd first like to say thanks for posting your artwork. I find it fascinating. I'll explain why: Dragon- I'm more fond of this one in particular because it's like a puzzle for the eye. The swirls and squigglies that make up the dragon's body isn't anything one would see every day. Well, at least me. I've never seen this type of style. It makes me smile and get little tinglies to see all this eccentric and crazy work. It confuses me, and intrigues me. Like, I can't really make heads or tails of the dragon's skull..and are those arrows stuck in the "stomach"? Very fun, bravo. Shoot- Honestly, the only two things that bothers me about it are the feet, and the right hand holding the gun. Specifically the left foot. The angle at which it's turned is a bit stretching it; a bit of exaggeration. The hand, now, I can't bash too much on hands because they do suck to draw sometimes. Especially when you're trying to achieve the position in this drawing. It's smaller than the left, and looks like it's bent at an impossible angle. But like I said, hands suck. Again, bravo. Oh, and I like the dress ^_^ Octipussary- Now this is hilarious. A marine animal being pwnd by machine. I don't know why that's so funny to me, but it is XD I love how the robot's one arm is totally taking control, and how the octipus (bleh, spelling sucks when you're tired) has his tenticles prying around the robot's arm. Also, the expression on the robot's face is the best. It says "Who's your daddy now, biatch?" Wonderful, fun, and fresh. Keep it up, and let us know how you do this, what you use, la la la.
18. I'm going to get straight to the point: Sean- Although your graphic was clearly creative, I'm going to agree with Sun. I've seen your works, and I know you could have done better. The concept, as Doc said, is really entertaining and it's nice to see that you are comfortable with attacking yourself. However, I feel that the graphic itself is not up to par. The placing of the font is too "default". What I mean is that to get the better affect, it would have been better to size in alternates. The three sayings is what I'm talking about here, that are placed in the middle. It looks like you didn't have anything else to do, and just stuck those phrases where they are. Imi- That little skull looks out of place. The outline of it is really bold and pixely and just kind of sticks out like a soar thumb. And that's the only bad thing I have to say about this graphic. The color is great, the subtitly was achieved, and I love the fonting. The anime theme was a good choice, and this graphic looks like a poster for a teen jewelry and accessory store; like the ones you see in malls. Retri- Splendor. That's the first word that pops into my head. It's relaxing, very soft, and mature. The contrast is flawless, and the picture is so clean. It's just a breath-taking picture. I don't like Katie Holmes, but she was a good choice for this graphic. There is, however, one thing I'm not thrilled about; the font. The choice and the color is good, but I feel that the placement kind of overlaps Katie and it might look a bit more comfortable just a smidge lower. But other than that, a beautiful logo and very convincing. Reminds me of those Neutragena (however it's spelt) commercials; how they use many actresses or female stars to promote the product. So, in conclusion, my vote of elimination is on Sean. Good job guys.
19. Yeah, heh, never idle in the Guild Hall. Anyway, in the past two days, I've quested a lot with Des, and have concluded that he is my lucky charm. Why? Because in these quests, I've picked up on 7-8 Runes. Five were straight in a row, in one straight run of quests. We were doing the Iron Horse Mines trilogy, as I like to call them. 2-3 Runse I've kept for myself, but here is what I'm looking to sell/trade: Elementalist Rune of Minor Air Magic Upgrade component -Improves Air Magic Ranger Rune of Major Marksmanship Upgrade component -Improves Marksmanship -Health -50 Monk Rune of Major Divine Favor Upgrade component -Improves Divine Favor -Health -50 Monk Rune of Minor Healing Prayers Upgrade component -Improves Healing Prayers Mesmer Rune of Minor Illusion Magic Upgrade component -Improves Illusion Magic Warrior Rune of Major Strength Upgrade component -Improves Strength -Health -50 Warrior Rune of Minor Absorption Upgrade component -Reduces damage from attacks Whew, I believe that's all for now! PM me or grab me in game if you would be interested.
20. >:( Okay, well..imageshack is being a duche right now, so I'll edit my last post with the image attached. Thanks for letting me know ^_^
21. Aww, thank you ^_^ I'd continue to update, if people continued to post, ahem. Lately, I haven't had the motivation or inspiration, so my graphic works have fallen to the way side. Anyhow, yes Helba, the John 5 symbol is something that flows within my graphics..or at least I've tried to put into every piece. Something I picked up half-way into making graphics. So, I've come up with something! Not a graphic, but a drawing! Dun dun dun..I guess I'll show you, and explain where it came from, hehe. As you might have guessed, this is our newest moderator Hack Helba. The dead give away is that silly jester hat he wears. I just think it's adorable; some mods have mod rods, but Helba's power comes from that jester hat. The reason behind the pic? Well, I eventually want to make a crazy graphic of this jester hat-wearing mod, but on Saturday, I wasn't at my computer. So, I drew a picture to get an idea of what I might be looking to do..it didn't turn out how I had originally thought up. But I really love this picture, and it was so fun to draw. He's sitting in a computer chair that has a piece of paper that says "dunst" (but you can't see the entire word because it wraps around the chair). As for what he's playing with......it's a baby toy. You know how in the begining of The Simpsons, Maggie is acting like she's driving? Yeah, that little toy is what Helba's playing with in this drawing. I don't know why that got put in there...but it just ended up in his lap. It's my understanding that this pic circulated through a few people over AIM. But I'd like to see what you have to think here.
22. Propaganda, a wide range of art can be/is based on this word. Obviously, you two saw this word the same, but completely different. It's interesting, and a tough vote. Retri- You chose more of a serious tone. The busy traffic of writing balances well with the excitement of the shots of tanks and people. Even for someone who wouldn't understand Russian or Chinese, they would be able to look at this graphic, and tell that there's something important going on. It reminds me of when you watch a war movie, how there's that one scene that is composed of just radio broadcasts, newspaper flashes, clips of old war footage, explosions, and so on and so forth. Portraying both Russia and China only says one thing to me: communism. And coming to that conclusion, this graphic's idea is to promote communism. Or rather, express how it was something that was being pushed and enforced during the World War eras. My favorite part of this graphic is the Chinese soldier. It's great how that side of the graphic is bursting with activity, but his expression stays calm and almost playful. But I'll agree with Doc that the font is blurred and fuzzy. Though, this might not have been able to avoid, so I can't bark too much on that one. Helba- You seem to have chosen more of a light-hearted tone with fun little messages. The picture makes me giggle. It screams "bribery" and "desperate" at me. I personally like the border and imperfections; it looks more vintage and worn out. Which is basically how the situation of this war--it's getting worn out and played out. Thus, giving no motivation for new blood to circulate through the veins of the United States military forces. This piece delivers the message of how lately, it seems that the US has been trying to get the people to join the military, or at least try to help with getting this country above the surface. And it's funny because the US is considered the "big brother", yet it's having to struggle to keep its people from giving up ambition. Again, I agree with Doc on the usage of the font. It is out of place for the era of this picture. However, it's clear and vibrant. There's one thing that I can't get past; the "mmm" bubble. It just doesn't feel right at all. --This is most difficult to decide, for me anyway. The message of "propaganda" stands out firmly in both graphics. I was looking forward to seeing the message actually radiating from a graphic, and not necessarily the quality. Though, of course, the quality of the graphic is important; just not key. You both did an amazing job of flooding the graphic with a strong understanding of history and the meaning of propaganda. So, for the sake of the tourny, my vote has to rest with Retri. The power behind the elements in your graphic blow me away. Helba, your graphic is absolutely brilliant, but it just didn't get enough of me. Phenominal job you two!
23.
I used to be Catholic but then turned Buddhist and now I'm turning back to catholic. Is crazy because I changed religions more than 9 years ago and the fact that my mother is Buddist helped but there are not so many people that believe in the same principles and well not so many guys that will like a Buddhist girl.
It's not crazy to change your religion. It's just saying that you're still not very sure of where you want to be. I went from Baptist, to Catholic, to agnostic, to Satanist, and to whatever I am right now. I really don't know for sure where I'm at in religion. However, your last remark kind of set me to think. Is that really why you changed your religion? Because you wanted guys to like you? If so, please don't feel that religion has to do with everyone. And if a guy doesn't like you because you choose to be Buddist (which from my understanding seems to be the most peaceful and caring), then that guy's got issues of his own to deal with. But, we're not talking about relationships ^_^;; So yeah, I don't think you're crazy or whatever for changing your religion. It's not a cake walk, and it's something no one can fully understand in their lifetime.
24.
But how can someone be a Satanist if they don't believe in God? :animeangr
They believe that there are higher powers, and that there may be a God, but as Baron said, the don't worship or acknowledge God's existance. Why? To Satanists, they feel that "God" [and all his worshipers/followers] is/are conniving and casting false hopes over people. Satanists are people who feel that God has failed them, and they feel that Christianity shouldn't be pushing their beliefs onto people just to lead them into disappointment and pain. They worship/follow Satan because they feel that he is honest and accepts you for whoever you are. IE, Satan doesn't care if you fell in love with a member of the same sex, or whatever God tells you you can't/shouldn't do. To Satanists, they are free. Edit- Silly me, I strayed from the topic. I am not Christian, I am not a Satanist, nor am I in the belief that there is no God. I guess if I were to be labled, I'd call myself "agnostic". I feel that there is something there, but I don't believe in "God" or "Jesus". My reasons are too complicated, that even I'm not sure if I believe what I believe. I'm going through a rough time religiously, and I'd rather not label myself as anything, even as being agnostic.
25. Oh, don't worry Retri. I critique Syk3 in other ways.
