1. I like "1985", but I love "Girl all the Bad Guys Want". I'm not a big fan of Bowling for Soup, as a matter of fact. To me, they sound Simple Plan-ish; and that particular vocality and music annoys me. But to go as far as to accuse BFS as being "posers", is going too far. If you want to call that Avril Lavi-whatever a "punk", then you can just kiss your knowledge of punk good-bye. I'm not disagreeing withthe fact that Bowling for Soup is not "true punk", but honestly, neither are bands like Simple Plan or singers like Avril. But, that's another discussion for a different time and thread. So as far as BFS goes, I only like their two hits; favoring "Girl all the Bad Guys Want".
2. Name- Sylvia "Max" Maxington Age- 25 Gender- Female Appearance- Maxington Position- Stealth Ops. Weapons- The blasters in her hands are equipped with short, rapid bursts of electrofying atoms; capable of taking down a Black Hawk from flight; These are used in combat or as a last resort. -She pistols in her breast holster and thigh holster are miniature versions, however there is a special feature about them; they are silenced. -Unseen to the viewer, are assortments of blades (mainly hidden in the cuffs of her sleaves and boot straps); assortments include 2" to 4" smooth or jagged blades. -Her boots. Yes, her boots are weapons as well. Two 2" blades are mechanically crafted into the soles of her boots(one blade per boot). With a swift stomp, the blades snap out of their incasement to point out unnoticably from her toes. Bio- Sylvia doesn't remember much of her life before the A.I androids reigned down their fury. She was thirteen years old when the attacks began; starting off as just malfunctioning computers, super computers, hybrid vehicles, and so on and so forth. Eventually, within the short span of a year, these "house-hold" appliances spread into masses of destructive machinery. Everything in their paths was obliterated. Soon, the weakened government dubbed the raging battle "AI" or as most people know "Artificial Intelligence". Sylvia's family, being everyday civilians had no defensive action whatsoever, and were quickly taken over and slaughtered before her eyes. As smoke and debris crashed and burned around her, Sylvia managed to escape the flaming entanglement of metal and bodies. However, her fleeing was cut short when she was captured by "human" forces. Sylvia was taken into a lab for a quick inspection by groups of emotionless and perfect humans. Lost in confusion of the purity and silence of this group of "people" , it was made clear to Sylvia that she was, infact, not in safety of human care. No, they were AI androids. Machines made and built to look like and function similar. They sedated and experimented on the frightened and confused thirteen year old girl. When she woke, she told her story about the unkown A.I androids. But no one would believe her, until it was too late. Ever since, Sylvia has dedicated her life to the silent life of stealth and swears to avenge the real humanity by destroying the mainframe of AI. And to never get caught.
3. Okay Corey, I promise you, I'll be here for this one ^_^ By the way, beautiful entry. Name: Vivian D'Andros Age: 24 Appearance: Height- 65cm (5'5"); Weight- 120lbs; Vivian is normally seen wearing tattered, worn-through garments. A simple pair of grey, pliable and very warm thermal legings (kind of like tights, but thicker), boots, a thining, dull jade sweater that is oversized, and a pair of fingerless, brown gloves which are also slightly oversized. Her hair, choppy and pitch black, is always dishelved. Months of insomnia and malnutrition resides in her eyes, hollowing them slightly into her skull and forming dark circles beneath them. Short Bio: Vivian was born and raised on Earth, lived a normal life, went to school, college, the normal American life. She received her Masters in Satellite Systems/Communications under NASA's newest form in schooling, AstroNASA University. During the recent missions of the Blade Runner, Vivian was assigned to a brand new laboratory and communications settlement on Deimos. Without hesitation, Vivian took up the mission and was meritoriously awarded the rank of Captain. She, nor any of her commadres, had any idea as to what was decided to go through Deimos. After the Blade Runner mission was complete, Vivian and her crew were scheduled to switch with an auxiliary team back on Earth. However, the mission did not carry out as planned. This leaving Vivian and her crew in a very tight disposition. They were left on Deimos with barely enough food to sustain them for two years and weak transmissions from the settlement to Earth. Those were rare occasions. Months passed and her crew grew restless, or insane; attacking one another for "food", betraying one another, and even mutiny against Vivian. Several attempted assassinations on her life forced Vivian to escape elsewhere in the settlement. The other crews of different missions paid her no respect as a woman or as a Captain, casting Vivian further into depression and into the depths of the settlement. Several more months passed, Vivian lived in solitude, feeding off of what she packed (MREs mostly) and dropping in on her section of the settlement. while the remaining crew were asleep, to steal whatever she could. The last espionage to the crew's sector, Vivian found the area completely empty. No shread of evidence that a crew had lived there at all. No papers, no clothing, absolutely nothing. Confused and cautious, Vivian crept about silently. Scatters and clicking echoed throughout the abandoned sector. Vivian just shrugged it off as her imagination. A slight fuzz filled the musty air, interrupted with crackled frantic shouts and cries. It was a transmission from the second mission to Deimos; their ship was plummiting straight for the settlement. 4. Hmm, interesting. First of all, I did not know it had such a low budget. So, I will give it some credit. Second, I was not aware of the first rating. I wonder why they changed it; like Syk3 said, they didn't show anything too grotesque. I also agree that there were some things that should have been thought out better. I like seeing everyone's thoughts on this. It makes you think a little further and appreciate hidden aspects. But I have one question, it may seem naive; where did they get the name "Saw" for the movie? I mean, there were saws in the movie, but is that why?
5. Oh, this is an interesting idea. I've just recently started getting into Teen Titans. Surprisingly, I actually like it and although I don't know much about it, I would be quick to sign-up. Perhaps it is because within the next year, I am going to be acting in a friend's Batman, Nightwing, Robin, etc. movie series as the new Batgirl.....o.O
6. ]Hm, well, I'm going to have to say that the most painful encounter I have physically endured would be getting seven teeth pulled.....don't ask. Another thing, fire. It really hurts. Don't get burned. I used to be a volunteer firefighter (until I moved) and I got swallowed by a tornado of fire. Yes, a tornado. If the atmosphere is right, a fire can create its own weather system. So with that system comes random gusts and shifts of wind. Well, I and another firefighter, were trying to put out a line of fire in a wheat field when a shift of wind changed and it blew up underneath the truck. A twelve-foot mass of spinning flames rolled over the truck. I nearly lost my life. Don't play with matches.
7. I'm sorry to dissappoint everyone who had signed-up for this RPG, but due to the lack of people, I'm not going to start this one up. Everyone's character was great, and I'm kind of glad that I don't have to sift through them (it's a very hard pick of grapes). Besides, school-type genres were not all that good for me ^_^;; So, once again, I apologize.
8. Okay Kitty. Note that this is my second banner and my first avatar. And you're the first person in which I've made a banner/avi for. So..here are the links: Kitty's banner Kitty's avatar Now, I know they aren't from the same pic. But they are both IZ. Let me know what you think.
9. Wow, thank you Ruby..well, I only know you as Ruby ( hope you don't mind) and thank you Juu and James. The compliments are really appreciated, and so is the border advice. I must go play with it now. ^_^* (blushy face)
10. "A kick scrotum" RPG idea? ^_^ That was cute. Yes, anyone is capable of accomplishing gems such as Kill Adam v1, v2 or Black Horizon. It just takes a little bit of thinking to turn an idea into your own vision, with a few extra spices of your own. Rather than just plagiarizing someone else's story/idea. I won't deny that alot of the RPGs these days are cliche` or that it is tiring. Sometimes, it's just hard to create an "original" idea.
11. I went to the movies last night and saw the "suspense/thriller" movie Saw. Now, the movie wasn't all that bad..but it was not good. It's sad, because there were points and scenes in the movie that could have been changed that would have made the movie awesome. The thing that compelled me to roll my eyes at this movie was the acting. The actors, on the exception of one, are really good actors. However, it's not the quality of the actor's abilities; it's how they are directed to act. The direction for the actors was pathetic. The theme of the movie is really great. It's sick, twisted, and had great potential. But it just couldn't show through the midst of insanely corny acting. The writer of the story did an amazing job. The twists and turns, and the way the "killer" planned out his "murders" is just...wonderful. Why did I quote those two words? Well, I don't want to spoil the movie. I wouldn't pay eight dollars to go see it, but it was much better than a few thrillers I've seen in the past couple of years. Has anyone else seen this movie?
12. Ah, Tyler. Long time no see bud ^_^ I'm going to start brand new on this story.. Name- James Van Howerdel Age- Has the appearance of a 24 year male. Gender- Male Description- Darkness master, James, stands at around six feet tall and weighs close to one-hundred and eighty-five pounds. He's just as dark and intimidating as his element he wields. Quiet, collected, observative, calm, and has a hint of arrogance. Cocky? No, James is anything but self-absorbed, but can be very blunt and, sometimes, cruel and will shed no tears of remorse for the weak. Element- Darkness Spells: Shadows Fall- Fear, anxiety, terror; all words related to phobias of darkness. A person can feel one of two ways about shadows: they love it or they fear it. Once James casts this spell on the oponent, they have to decide of those two options; to love the darkness, or to fear the darkness. Say the oponent chooses to love the darkness and remains calm, he/she has a better advantage of fighting the spell. Rather, if the oponent fears the darkness, it will consume him/her with whatever their fear forces them to hallucinate (ie, monsters, being slaughtered, being alone, etc). James can use this spell as an attack or a defense. The situation persuades his decision. -This spell can be used/manipulated with James' energy. Flames of Peril- The spell is what it sounds. When casted on an opponent/object, black, smoke-like flames spew and ensnare the target of the spell; enveloping the opponent/object and searing the target into ashes. -This spell can be used/manipulated through either James' hands or his katana. Raven's Claw- Controlled by James' thoughts and self-control, dark energy surrounds the opponent/object and envelopes the target into a save-haven for James to control. Now, this can be good, and this could be really bad. James has control over what is glowing an ominous blackish purple. He can easily move you to a safe place; mold a protective barrier; crush whatever's inside with unimaginable dark energy and gravity. It all depends on the situation....and what he wishes to do. -This spell can be used/manipulated with James' hands and mind. Weapon- A three and a half-foot, katana. It is nothing special as it lays, just a normal blade. However, it is James' power behind his dark-based attacks/spells. Bio: Not much is known about this dark character. He's very mysterious and very keen on keeping his emotions/feelings/and past locked away inside of him. The little that I can give you on James is that he is the only survivor of his entire family tree. No one is left for him. His five younger brothers and sisters, his loving parents and grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins and adopted family, all wiped out under the Rain of Fire's merciless fury. In addition to losing his relatives, James lost the only piece of love in his heart; his four year old daughter, Elaina. Strange things began to happen to James soon after the Rain of Fire stopped. His body never aged in the eleven years after. He never grew hungry, nor had the desire to. He soon learned that he was gifted with a magic that he had never heard, nor seen. What caused this drastic change is unknown. But it made no nevermind to him, during the eleven years he used the magic to his advantage and taught himself to master the power.
13. Whoo hoo! This is the first banner that I made. I think it came out pretty well, so I used it for my sig. The banner is a clip of the same picture that my avatar was made from....I don't need to post the link, just look at my sig. Please give me your opinions....and if it's possible, a little advice on how to make borders ^_^;; (don't hurt me Syk3)
14. Well, I'm back again for a comment. I am sitting here listening to one of the best, if not the best, female vocalists ever: Billy Holiday. The pain she had to endure throughout her entire life is just belted through her syrup-like voice. Such emotion, such a powerful voice, such an amazing woman. If anyone listens to Billy. All of Me All of me, why not take all of me? Can't you see, I'm no good without you Take my lips, I want to lose them Take my arms, I'll never use them.. Your good-byes, left me with eyes that cried How can I go on, dear, without you? You took the part, that once was my heart So why not take all of me.. All of me, why not take all of me? Can't you see, I'm no good without you Take my lips, I want to lose them Take my arms, I'll never use them.. Your good-byes left me with eyes that cried How can I go on, dear, without you? You took the best, so why not take the rest? Baby, take all of me... That song was probably written after her love died.
15. Might I suggest something that would have to do with the main topic of the RPG..How about Project: Haven, or something to that extent. Now, you can ask anyone who has discussed RPG's with me, I'm horrible at coming up with titles for my stories. I'll have everything written and organized, but it takes me forever to think of a title ^_^; If I can help you out any further, please let me know.
16. This unbelievable topic reminds me of this one day I was hanging out with my best friend and all of her little emo friends. They decide to bring up the idea/question of: If you and three of your closest friends were in a car accident, and one of you would die, who would you want it to be? I sat there, in awe, listening to this ridiculous conversation. How could someone wish that..and not only did they have to pick one of their closest friends, they had to give a reason why that friend should die. That's horrible. The point of my story? I cannot believe what goes on through teenager's heads in today's world. It's absurd and, frankly, frightening to know that America's teens would take up the opportunity to "blow" someone's brains out if the chance was given to them. Very sad.
17. I just found it utterly amusing that someone out there actually sits down and thinks this stuff up. Makes you wonder about the personality and the mental state of that person.
18. Oh, I like the avi ^_^ Thank you, Steff. I'm sorry to say that the banner is not quite what I was looking for, but I will most definately use the avi. Thanks again...and I'm still looking for a banner. To give a better insight, I am not really looking for Yuko-sama's entire body (as a whole) within the banner..I was thinking more along the lines of her hip with the hand that holds the spine of the fan, then the feathering out of the fan. To take up that empty space..perhaps a collage of clips of Yuko-sama's body (eyes, lips, hands, breasts, etc). If that's possible, great. If not...use your imagination :p Have at it..
19. Whoa. Just...whoa. I don't even know if I have the words to actually write about my thoughts. I wouldn't shoot anyone unless my life, or the life of my loved ones, depends on that option.
20. Errr..I just realized that my Queen already has a Chobits theme for her banner and avi T_T SO...I'm going to change my motif. I have decided on a bit of xXx-Holic
21. This is my desktop background. Sexy, isn't it?
22. Whoa, Her Black Wings, you read my mind. Well, sort of. I can't give an exact song that really awes me. But I will say that the band that writes the most beautiful lyrics is going to have to be A Perfect Circle. Now, I' m a big music lover. I've listened to alot of different varieties of music, but A Perfect Circle's music and lyrics just capitvate me. The poetry in the lyrics is really rare in music these days. I listen to bands like Godsmack, Yellow Card, Gorillaz, Mudvayne, and so on and so forth. A little bit of everything. And all of their lyrics are just words to me. It doesn't seem like the mainstream bands have much intelligence in their lyrics anymore. The music is what I listen to in those bands. But A Perfect Circle...Maynard's vocals and poetry just demands my attention. I just cannot find anything wrong with them. His voice and the way he sings his lyrics is absolutely beautiful and sexy. That's all my opinion, though. A Perfect Circle.
23. Murphy's Law actually has a formula? I might be wrong, or misunderstood something, but the Murphy's Law I know doesn't have an acutal calculation. From what I was taught from the military, Murphy's Law is described as anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. Am I confused with a different variation of Murphy's Law, if there are any different variations?
24. @.@ -is still in a dizzy from Ilovefluffy's signature- Those smilies really should be regulated...Getting back onto topic; What do I want for Christmas? Hm, considering I already got my laptop..and that's what I wanted..I guess what I want is Photoshop so I can make my banners and avatars. What has been my strangest Christmas present? I can't recall anything out of the norm....Actually, one year, I had my two nieces over for Christmas and the eldest one gave me half of her mauled PB and J sammich oO...very soggy.
25. I like the idea of shrouding this futuristic city in constant darkness. I don't think I have seen this idea here on the boards. Interesting. And just like Lore explained, stay away from the off-balance caps in writing an RPG. It just doesn't make a serious story seem all that serious. It kind of makes it look as if it were chibi-like and childish, and will more than likely ruin your hopes of casting a mature and successful RPG. (knows from experience) But all around, I like the idea.
