The Libertine

So, apparently, this movie was made in 2004. However, I don't remember this movie at all. What happened? Why was the release held off for two years? Was it shown overseas only for the past two years? I'm so lost...but it looks amazing. If anyone can really explain this to me, I'd appreciate it, lol.
2.
But the thing is he's very sensetive. :animeangr
I know how it is. Robert was very sensitive about it, too. But it's something that had to be done. It sounds crude, but you just have to do this for yourself. Don't get all worked up on what will happen to him. Of course it'll be painful for him, but he'll get over it. If he doesn't, then that's his issue; not yours. Don't put yourself through hell on his part. It's not worth it, especially if you don't like him that way. Now, if you did, then that's a totally different story. Since it's not in this case, take/think about our advice.

4. I'm a blend, as is most of the US's population. Heritage includes: Irish, Italian, German, Russian, and Scotish. And I very well represent every single one, heh. I look Italian and Russain, have the German stubborn, Irish temper and drinking tolerance...and..Scotish--we'll just say my mother inherits most of the Scotish trait (very, very red hair). Some people have told me that I'm a dangerous personality, lol. I have no idea why.....
5. When I was 15, I was stuck in this situation. There was a guy [Robert] who had it bad for me, and kept pushing himself onto me. I didn't like him that way, and no matter what I said or did made a difference in his mind. In fact, I had liked his best friend, Daniel--and I later found out that he liked me back. Anyway, Robert knew this, but Daniel told him that it really wasn't anything too serious; and that he [Robert] should ask me out. This put me in a pinch because if I said "no" to Robert, it would indirectly affect their friendship. And I didn't want to split their bond, as well as ours. People told me exactly what Sara has said to you, but I didn't listen. I ended up dating Robert, and it made a huge mess of things--because I dated him out of sympathy/pity/to get him to leave me alone. Eventually, things got so hairy, I ended up dumping him; and our friendship was never the same. Had I told him straight out "Dude, I can't like you that way. I can't date you, I like Daniel.", things might've been better. Sure, if I had said that, it would've hurt him--but he would've gotten over it, and our friendship might've been different. So, you can either drag it out and cause misery, or you can cut it off right now, cause a bit of pain, to save you (and your friends) from despair.
6. Chabi, you've had this banner/avi set since I can remember. It's always made me giggle, and if I ever just saw your avi before the rest of your posts, it was always recognizable to be you. The banner is done nicely; and the phrase is comforting. The avi is probably where I'll criticize the most. The kittie's face is perfectly grained and contrasted well. But the rest of the kitty, around the edge of the body, is too fuzzy and looks like it's been blurred too much. 8/10
7. I work in a chocolate store now, and absolutely love it. Though, we don't do too much making chocolates; that makes me sad. I would like to learn about making chocolate, and perhaps open a shop of my own some day. I've been watching a lot of Food TV lately, and it's been mostly about chocolate. I knew that there's a lot to making chocolate, but not as much as I had origninally thought. However, this just makes me want to learn more.
8. I wasn't sure if I should post in the Class Time thread, so if you feel this needs to be merged or something, please do so Retri. (congrats by the way, lol) Anyway, I've never toyed with ImageReady in Photoshop, and was wondering if for those artists who use this could sort of teach others. Firstly, I'd like to learn simple things like putting text/phrases in banners.
9. Appleseed: Redux The year 2131 was a year to be remembered amongst mankind. It was a strange and frightening time for humankind. A non-nuclear war, called the ?Global War? had swept over the world years before; crippling the Earth?s stability. Then, as hope would have it, the war ended suddenly; no one won. Instead, the war had left the world in ruins and economic crisis. It seemed the human race would consume itself. However, a brilliant scientist created a guardian angel to protect and stabilize humanity once again. The ?guardian angel? was not a spiritual being, but a laboratory creation of human-like beings called ?Bioroids?. They were not mechanical, but perfect clones of humans whose main function was to protect the human race. Bioroids were limited to their emotions to simulate a euphoric environment. Meaning, they could not feel anger, love, or jealousy; any emotion that could lead to a conflict. Not only were their emotions deluded, Bioroids were genetically altered to be baron and sterile. Reproduction was not of their DNA make-up. Most of the Earth?s population resided in the city Olympus where nearly half of the population was composed of these ?perfect clones?. Even though Bioroids were unable to harbor hatred, that?s not to say humans couldn?t refrain themselves. The Regular Army grew angry with the popularity and the ?arrogance? of the Bioroid race. The commanders of the RA protested against the need, and swore that the Bioroids would turn against human beings. Soon, the serene balance swayed, and the RA began to seek the means to destroy the clone race. Olympus? best SWAT force struggled to suppress the opposing Army. However, further events in Olympus would prove that the Regular Army?s theory was correct. Olympus? central intelligence and the handler of the Bioroid?s programs, Gaia, would soon fall victim to manipulation by the ?7 Elders?. This group of wise men were Gaia?s counsel. The Elders would debate and form unbiased solutions with Gaia; any decisions Gaia produced were final. Eventually, the 7 Elder?s anger towards humanity?s disruption of balance between human and Bioroid flooded into Gaia; forcing the super intelligence into deciding human beings needed to be annihilated. Before they could carry out their plan, they needed a way to enable Bioroids to survive and reproduce. They needed ?Appleseed?, a program that contained the data to give the reproduction genes back to Bioroids. This is where my mother, Deunan Knute, came in. Deunan Knute was the best soldier, and had the ability to survive and find Appleseed. But she was betrayed by the Elders after retrieving the program. Furious and desperate to protect the human race, my mother demolished the Elder?s plans on destroying the human race; creating peace once more. Until now? The year is now 2152, twenty years later after Deunan Knute saved the human race from extinction. Men and Bioroid lived peacefully, as if nothing had happened. The only evidence left to show the events of the past was construction that still continued in many parts of Olympus. Other than the occasional traffic jams and job delays, nothing upset the beautiful utopian city. Bioroids were able to reproduce just as humans, only they could reproduce with other Bioroids. The population steadily boomed, forcing construction of the neighboring city, Zeus, in the year 2145. For security, Deunan and Briareos moved into the infantile city. The plans for this great, innocent city were to recreate Gaia stronger and impenetrable by any force, mankind or machine. Gaia would not be manipulated as mercilessly as it was all those years ago. Olympus would still hold the original Gaia, only its use was less concerning as Zeus?. Gaia for Olympus became the city?s source of energy and programming; just like a superconductor and supercomputer. Soon after population, Zeus became plagued with an underground terrorist organization who call themselves ?Black Death?. They are the remains and offspring of those who still oppose Bioroids. Their sole purpose is to bring down everything that is Bioroid and related. For the past few years, Black Death as put thousands of family?s lives at risk. Black Death was convinced that history would repeat itself, and to prevent this, they would destroy the race and the humans that protected them. And they wouldn?t stop at living things, they would also destroy any data or laboratories aiding in research and hospitalization of Bioroid-Human cooperation. Zeus, still virginal and weak, desperately fought against these terrorists. The city eventually called for its brother, Olympus, to help. This is where I come in. My name is Sasha Knute. I am the daughter of Deunan Knute and Briareos, my cyborg father. Ever since I was old enough to eat on my own, I was trained to be a soldier; just like my mother. After the sudden death of my parents, due to terrorists, I became reclusive and lived in the ruins of the ?old world?; training myself to be tougher than my parents could ever expect of me. I wasn?t building myself to take my mind off of the pain, I was building myself into a killing machine. I was going to have my vengeance. All right folks, for those of you who know this story, I hope I did it justice and didn?t really ?Hollywood? it up. I tried to keep true to the story, and think I did a good job. The RP is futuristic, but not too much. Cloning is perfect, hovering vehicles, technology has advanced greatly, reflex responsive mecha units, but still no teleporting. So, don?t go all crazy with writing about being able to think of a place then suddenly ?poofing? there. Lol The plot? Sasha Knute has returned to Zeus to form a militia to go against Black Death; her militia is called ?Aequitas?, Latin for ?justice?. If successful, Sasha will have rid the city of Zeus of evil and keep the peaceful balance. Not only restore harmony, but re-secure her parent?s legacy. So, Sasha needs you! *Sasha Knute will be played by your?s truly, me. :p Sign-ups Name- Age- Gender- Appearance- Race- [human, Bioroid, or cyborg] Alliance- [Black Death= terrorist; Aequitas= militia of Zeus; ES.W.A.T= Olympus new military] Bio- Any questions, feel free to send me a PM. I?ll start an Underground thread sometime in the future, depending on how well this RP goes.
10. Shogo's smirk faded. The young ninja's chakra levels began to soar. Most impressive was Daisuke's spirit. Somewhere in the back of his mind, Sho knew Daisuke wasn't weak; but not exactly abrassive. This was just as he wanted, to provoke the inner beast and see what the Genin had within themselves. Ginmaru's ambition and inner self was not a surprise, but a relief to see him come forward. Sho was worried that he may have gone postal and blew up everyone in his sight. With three sharp edges aimed at his heart, Sho clapped his hands together and bowed. Without a blink, Daisuke was the first to lunge. Swiftly, Shogo flipped backwards, dodging Daisuke's sai and landing a foot on his wrist. A single sai sailed through the air. Just as the Jounin landed, another, more precise blade glinted straight for his neck. Ginmaru's chakra hit Shogo like a brick, knocking him to the ground. "Impressive," he uttered before rolling away from a ounce from Daisuke. Sho sprung to his feet and backflipped a few swings from both Ginmaru and Daisuke. Landing once, Shogo sunk to the grass and swiped his leg under Ginmaru's feet. The silver-haired shinobi growled, reaching into his coat to throw a kunai. Sho countered with one of his own before barreling to the left, avoiding a stab from Daisuke. Quickly, Shogo reached behind his back and into his small pouch. Aiming for the ground underneath the advancing Genin, the sensei tossed several makibishi. The spikes of the makibishi caught their sandals. "Gah!" the boys screamed aloud as the small, spikey balls dug into the bottoms of their feet. "Always be aware of what your opponent is doing," Shogo jumped into a nearby tree, "You'd better stop for now before you bury those makibishi deeper into your foot. Otherwise, you'll never be able to pull them out." "That was a cheap shot," Daisuke grunted, wincing in agony as Imi helped him slowly pull out a makibishi. "Doesn't matter, Daisuke-kun," Ginmaru bit at his lip as the spikes ripped out from his sandal, "We should've seen that coming." "You should have. After your feet stop bleeding, we'll start training. You two have proved you are ready to start. I needed to see if you could disregard that I was your sensei, regardless of my little speech," Sho sat down on the limb he perched upon. "You would wound your own subordinants, just to see their anger?" Imi tilted her head. Her red hair danced as a gust of wind picked up. "Not to see their anger, Imi. To see if their conscious would allow them to attack a figure that used to be friendly. Because when you get to the Chuunin Exams, your best friends will be competing against you. If you cannot get through your mind that they are no longer your friend, your teammate, you'll fail miserably. That is why I ordered you to attack Ginmaru," Sho gritted his teeth. Imi's face flushed in embarrassment, Ginmaru taunting her with his gaze. The three Genin continued to doctor themselves as Shogo contemplated the first step in training. Ginmaru and Daisuke will be able to handle themselves with little help. Imi-chan, however, needs to break barriers... "Imi, come with me," Shogo snapped out of his thoughts and jumped to the ground below. "Looks like someone needs a tutor," Ginmaru wrapped his feet in muslin. Imi hissed, but bit down on her tongue. Her anger and embarrassment swelled under her pride. It was the perfect opportunity to lash out, he was wounded and she clutched the kunai Sho launched at them earlier. She looked towards the Jounin and immediately knew the opportunity would show its face later. Striking a man when he's wounded was very dishonorable. And Shogo's stance looked ready to pounce if she had made her move. "You two," Sho called out over Imi's shoulder, "Once you're done nursing yourselves, seek us out." The sensei lead the way into the lush woods. After a couple of silent moments on the path, Sho shifted his course and drifted off of the trail. He weaved in and out of the trees as if he planted them as he went. Confused and a bit frightened, Imi kept her nunchucks unholstered. The sound of birds and the wind slowly melted away from earshot. The temperature dropped steadily from a mild warmth to an almost uncomfortable cool. Green around the two ninjas was no longer bright and vibrant under the sun, but dark under the shadow. Whatever sunlight shone through the tops of the trees got caught up in the heavy air and lingered high above. Still, Sho lead on until the colors of the forest turned grey and lifeless. Finally, he stopped in the middle of a grassless, shrub less area. Whatever vegitative plantforms were in the surrounding area seemed to be wilted and decaying. And to Imi's dread, Shogo stood right on top of a mass of what she hoped to be animal bones. "Shogo-sens-" Imi started. "You can call me 'Shogo' now," the blind ninja turned to face her, "I'm no longer your sensei." "Right, Shogo," the girl stammered, still trying not to call him 'sensei', "Do you know where we are?" The Jounin turned his head to the left then to the right, "I don't know, you tell me. You're the one with eyes." "It looks as if we're standing in the middle of a graveyard. Can't you sense that?" Imi nearly shrieked. "Well, not exactly. I can sense anything that can give off chakra. I sensed we went from an area full of life to a sudden baron, lifeless are. Does this upset you? Death?" Shogo stretched out his arms. "N-no, I was just wondering how you knew this place was here," Imi chuckled, shrugging half-heartedly, "It's like you knew where to go. And if you couldn't sense it, I was just curious." "I come here from time to time, to think," he began, kicking a skull out from his way, "It's the perfect place to meditate." Grunting lightly, Shogo sat down on the pile of bones, folding his legs. Imi blinked impatiently and in shock that the Jounin would disrespect the deceased, even though they were animals. "Meditate? Is that what we're doing for my training?" she huffed, slouching against a branchless tree. "You'd be amazed at what you can see in meditation. You sort of have an out-of-body experience, allowing you to use your mind as you'd never used it before. You can see further, you can feel more deeply of what's going on around you; basically, you open all the doors to every sense," Sho explained, picking up a femur and waving it around like a sword, "Meditation is the best way to get in touch with the world around you. It allows for a more reflexive prespective. You'll be able to sense what is coming to you, and prevent it. Sit down." Imi sighed lightly in annoyance and sat across from Shogo. "Now, close your eyes and tune out everything in your head. Forget about Ginmaru, forget about the Chuunin Exams, forget training, forget you're a ninja," Shogo instructed. "I don't un-" "Just shut up and concentrate on relaxing. Focus your energy onto the sounds of the forest," Sho interrupted, "Don't even think what you're thinking. 'But there are no sounds, Shogo-sama.'" Shogo mocked a girlish voice and scolded Imi again when she giggled. Imi tilted her head down, letting her unruley hair dangle. She exhaled heavily as her entire body weighed down. For a moment, she searched the forest for birds, then for crickets. She heard nothing. Not a sound of life. But the feeling of Shogo's threatening chakra forced her temper to subdue and search some more. After several minutes, the sound came softly to her ears like a soothing summer breeze. It was a distant trickle from a brooke. Soon after was an array of movement in the forest floor. Imi ruled out to be wildlife scrambling around for food because small squeaks of squirrels accompained the rustling. Taken back with all the sounds she caught with just following the brooke, Imi's body toppled over gently. "See. Once you found one sound, you were able to branch out to the area around it," Sho smiled. "Wow..." the red-head breathed. "Meditation is very useful when on espionage missions. Practice this enough, and your sense of hearing will be so sharp, you'll be able to hear Ginmaru's mask shift when he smirks at you," Sho laughed at Imi's sudden flare from trance to anger, "Now, you're going to use this ability to defend yourself." "What? How do you mean?" Imi repositioned herself, closing her eyes. "You'll see," Sho whispered as Imi relaxed once more. With her red hair covering her face, Imi settled into the meditative state. Shogo picked the minute, and tossed a pebble at Imi's head. Her hand snapped into the air and caught the stone in mid flight. "Wha-!?" her eyes shot open wide. She examined her fist, opening it slowly to reveal the stone in her grasp. Smiling proudly, she looked to Shogo. "Beginer's luck," he blew a raspberry, "But you understand what I meant by using it to defend yourself?" "Yes! I was able to hear the scraping sounds you made while picking up the pebble. Then, I heard a soft rubbing from your bandages as your arm went back to get a good aim," she exclaimed, her face beaming in delight. "Exactly. But tell me what you heard that you were able to catch the stone just before it would've hit your head." "I heard," the joyful girl paused, "I heard a whistle." "Good job. You can also utilize this technique to sneak up on your opponents, as well. Perhaps we can make use of this approach to surprise your teammates when the come looking for us," Sho smiled and instructed Imi to continue meditating.

12. Right. Moving on, I just want to inform everyone in Cell #3 that Shogo is taking a turn for his true personality. His sudden attitude and personality change isn't anything personal against the three Genin. But if anyone feels that I might be belittling their character, or feel something I write may be too far out there, please PM me or catch me on AIM and discuss it with me.
13. "The mission went--" Hokage hesitated, trying to find the right word, "rather well. The Genin handled themselves impressively." "Of course they would, they're my kids," Sho beamed in delight. Several images flashed in his mind; Daisuke becoming assertive, Imi drop kicking the nutcase in the face, and Ginmaru's stunning performance. Although Shogo was a bit short with him afterwards, the coy sensei couldn't help but admire the drunken Genin's accuracy under the influence. Hokage hung his shoulders, sighing slightly before handing Shogo a bulking scroll. "Anyhow, Sho-kun, that contains your instructions for the Chuunin Exam," Hokage grunted as he rose to his feet. Shogo waltzed to the Hogake's desk to lay the scroll flat. Running his fingertips over the specialized paper, the Jounin's face dropped its playful demeanor. Slowly, Shogo stood straight and directed his concern-ridden face towards his respected leader. The tired Hokage shook his head and raised his hands in defeat. "I'm sorry, boy," he started, making his way to put his hands on the Jounin's tensed shoulders, "but it has to be done. If we turned our backs, the Hidden Leaf may have stood in jeopardy. With the Exam there, we may gain the trust and ally. You, of all people in Konoha, should understand this." Sho remained silent and rolled the scroll. Thousands of dreadful thoughts swarmed around in his skull. He left Hokage's office quietly to find his Genin. The turn of events just took a sudden left from a child-like anxiety to a morbid worry. The Chuunin Exam was never easy, but for this generation under Sho's command, it was going to be the '9 Hells'. Some time after wandering around the village in search of the three, Shogo finally found them. Naturally, in their usual condition; Imi and Ginmaru ready to tear each other's throats out, and Daisuke trying to keep things from blowing up. With his keen eyes, Daisuke was the first to spot his Jounin atop the hillside. With a roll of his head, which would be his eyes if he had any, Shogo tucked the scroll under his arm and reached into his pouch to pull out two kunai. He launched the daggers just as Daisuke got the two ferocious rival's attention. The daggers made a small tuff of sand at their feet and Shogo started down the hillside. "At it again like an old married couple," he chuckled at Imi's fuming chakra, "I'll never understand it. C'mon you three, I have something to tell you." He walked between Ginmaru and Imi, throwing a demand to pick up his kunai. Daisuke reeled in his fishing line, pouting something along the lines of never catching a fish with such noise. Imi shot him a raspberry and strode up to Shogo's side. "Is it about the Chuunin Exam? We do get to go, right?" Imi's curiosity flared as fiercely as her red hair. She did her best to conserve her excitement, but as a result, her restraint joy burst through her "badass" facade. "Patience, you nut," Ginmaru murmered, keeping his distance behind the three. "The day I need your advice, jerk, is the day I'll be in a pickle," Imi hissed over her shoulder, running into the very calm Jounin. He growled and turned to face the young ninjas. "That day will come sooner than you think, Kagami Imi," Shogo's tone froze the three Genin in their tracks, "So, I suggest you two drop this immature, wannabe rivalry act before it sinks to a low you wouldn't be able to crawl out of. Because, let me tell you all something." Shogo took the scroll from under his arm and shook it at Imi and Ginmaru. They stood stiff as totem poles. "This Chuunin Exam is nothing you could ever prepare yourself for. This Exam is going to be the one test that will change your lives forever. The Genin Exam is a fu-" Sho caught himself and straightened out, "The Genin Exam is an elementary playground compared to what you're going to face next. Kagami, I want--no, order you to attack Ginmaru right now." Shogo sat the scroll on a boulder and motioned for Daisuke to step aside. Imi shifted her stance a bit, blinking at Shogo then at Ginmaru. The silver-haired ninja folded his arms across his chest, one hand secretly gripping tightly on his katana's hilt. Imi looked to her teacher. "A-Are you serious?" she half-believed. "Do I look like I'm jerking you around? Quit blinking at me, and do as I told you. Stab Ginmaru," growing impatient and angry at Imi's hesitation, Shogo boomed, "If you do not attack your rival, whom you are so desperate to squash, you will not see the Chuunin Exam. You want him to suffer, here's your chance, Kagami!" Daisuke's heart pounded so loudly, he held his hands to his ears. His face nearly matching the pale white of his eyes, Sho ordered him to sit down. Ginmaru's cold eyes flared to life, waiting to see Imi lunge at him. The red-head reached behind her back to grasp one of her nunchucks. Ginmaru stood still, his chest rose and fell softly but inside, he was dancing. Imi's eyes spoke all, and he was feeding on her feelings. "I'm going to give you ten seconds," Shogo started, his voice colder than ever, "And if you aren't swinging that chuck at him, then I'll swing my axe at him." Imi's eyes bulged as Shogo pulled one axe from its customized holster. "10....9....8....7.." Imi's face twisted. She really wanted to hurt Ginmaru, but not like this. This wasn't the way she wanted to accomplish her victory. Shogo stirred more terror in her as he twirled his axe, reaching for its twin. "6....5....4....3..." "Imi," Daisuke covered his face. "..2...." Sho's lips curled into a snarl, "....1." In less than the time it took to blink her eyes, the petrifying Jounin launched an axe at Ginmaru. "NOOO!!" Imi's scream rang out, and she sent her nunchuck flying just in time to catch Shogo's axe and take it across the field. With her breath staggering and catching, Imi fell to the ground and hung her head. "I've said this before. And I'll say it again," Shogo unzipped his vest and laid it next to the scroll, "This is just the begining." Daisuke started for Imi, but Shogo grasped his shirt and jerked him back where he was. Ginmaru smirked under his mask and released his katana. "This, my children, is where your real training is to begin. No more horesplay, no more Mr. Nice Sensei, and no more empty threats," Shogo cracked his knuckles and rolled his shoulders, "When I tell you to do something, I expect it to be exactly as I said. If I tell you to murder Hokage, it better be done." Daisuke and Ginmaru flinched, but nodded. Imi still shook softly, never looking up at Sho. "Do you understand, Kagami?" "Yes, Sensei," her voice meak and so soft, it was barely a whisper. "The Chuunin Exam is going to challenge your consciousness harshly. Even more than how I just challenged Imi. Genin have went into the Exam with much confidence and come out completely insane. If they even came out at all," Sho perched on the boulder, "If you wish to survive, you have to learn survival. You may end up facing who you think to be your best friend, but in fact, they don't see you as your best friend anymore. Instead, you are in their way from surviving; you become their enemy, their rival. And they will not hesitate to take you down. The Chuunin Exam is to take place in the Hidden Eye." "But..I thought," Imi started. "The village is rebuilding itself. The new Hokage has requested the alliance of the Hidden Leaf for protection, and help to rebuild the village and economy. With the village in such a brittle stage, they are most vulnerable. Hosting the Chuunin Exam will provide great protection," Sho explained, "Though, as friendly as this may seem, keep your senses aware of every little detail going on around you. You are going to meet hundreds of new faces, faces who don't trust you to button your pants. Any seemingly harmless word could spark a fight you may wish you had never have started; and depending on the opposer, you might not be able to finish what you started. From here on out, I am not your sensei, or your protection; I am a mimic of your enemies. You will fight me, whether you like it or not. If you cannot match me, or strike an impression, then you will not last five minutes in a Chuunin match."
14. A week or so ago.. Well, I'm sure this will bring more attention since it's Naruto :p Currently, Ezekiel is gracing us with a Naruto based RPG, and I just had to let a demon loose. He's a creation that mainly sprung up on me, but my hubby, Parabola, also threw in ideas for his background and design. The character is a blind ninja named Zankokusa Shogo, and if you want his history, look at my sign-up in the Inn. I might've posted his original photo a while ago, but I'll do it again. I also drew up a couple of pictures of what he looks like in the ninja vest that Chuunins and Jounins wear. *click on the images to enlarge ^This is the original drawing done last year. It's a full frontal which really shows what he looks like with his facial scars. ^A back shot of Sho sporting his vest and what it'd basically look like when he dons it. Yeah, he's not a normal Jounin and has his own style. The axes are not what I orginally have for him, but for the sake of Jamie's RPG, I changed the weapon he actually carries to the axes. He, in my story that is in development, carries a scythe; obviously seen in the picture before this. ^And this is just a fun pic I drew. Just basically giving a taste of his personality.I didn't draw the axes on his back simply because at that position, it'd be a curse, lol. Besides, the picture has a lighter feeling, so why weigh it with heavy weapons. Well, they're not really heavy, but any weapon would've just cluttered the vibe, I think. Feb. 8th, 2006 This is a quick sketch all done on the little, 4'' Wacom tablet I have been using in Photoshop. Also, it was a request for Jamie. However, I promise Jamie, I'll get you a better detailed one later on. But, was bored, and wanted to challenge myself to see if I could draw on the computer. And here's the end result. 15.
I guess it's my fault for not making things apparent enough... my bad for having you make a piece that's not used. So it's still your turn, unless you'd like to be skipped.
No, it isn't your fault; you clarified exactly what was needed to be clarified. When I was working on it in Photoshop, it was the correct dimensions. But when I uploaded it to Photobucket.com, it resized my picture. I didn't realize this until just a bit ago. My sincerest apologies. Anyway, hopefully imageshack.us does me better. Here, round 2.
16. Here's my shot. Not sure if it flows well--but, it's what I could come up with. If you don't like it Retri, let me know and I'll try again. Oh, Stuart..you are so great to play around with ^_^.........er, in Photoshop, that is.
17. That's beautiful, Jameh! I probably won't have my submission up until late tonight, or tomorrow. Please be patient, and don't expect typography. I don't do very well with font art. >>; If no one responds after my post, I'll be sure to edit this one. So, keep an eye out.
18.
thanks guys; i know what you are saying would be the smart thing to do. He is getting ready to graduate and he is just very busy, but i know he loves me. But i think for now i will let it go on, we are still best friends which makes it even more complicated in my eyes. thanks again, especially Athena that really puts things in perspective for me.
You're welcome. I know how it feels to be in that spot, and I know it's not an easy decision to make; but I assure you, it's for the better. Like I said, I would end it now....and if he does really love you, then he'll wisen up. But until that day, you should do whatever's best for you.
19. Okay, I'm going to come out with this. If anything I say upsets you, then I apologize now. I was in the same sort of situation a few years ago. The guy and I fell for each other, but he was involved with a girl. He was attached to her, but kept coming to me. And like a naive idiot, I kept accepting him. During the months and months of this, I started to get more unstable; but I kept going to him because of this "hope" that maybe he'd come to his senses and realize that we should've been together. But, alas....it didn't happen and it only hurt me. As much as it sucked, I came to my senses and realized that I had to end this. It wasn't healthy, it wasn't going to work. It tore me, but it was for the best.... So, my advice to you is to save yourself the pain. End whatever it is...it'll be better for you in the end. He'll realize he was stupid sooner or later, but it'll be too late for him to win you over.
20. "Formal wear?!" Imi shrieked, nearly jogging to keep up with Shogo's pace, "Sensei, you really aren't going to make us dress up, are you?" Sho stopped abruptly in the middle fo the hall, causing the three straggling Genin to run smack into him, and each other. Groaning with sheer annoyance, Sho turned to face his students. Their faces pleaded, even Daisuke's, for him to save them from the agony of formal clothing. The Jounin didn't like wearing tuxedos as much as the next ninja, but it wasn't his decision. "Listen, kiddies, I hate--hate--wearing nice clothes," his hands shook, emphasizing his hatred for this idea, "But we have to follow Hokage's orders. Look at it this way, if we were to just stroll into the party looking like ninjas, it would cause a scene we really don't need. People would get concerned, and we may end up with more of an issue than we already have." The three Genin glanced at one another, nodding in agreement. As much as they hated to admit, Shogo was right and maybe wearing the tuxedos and gowns wouldn't be too bad. At least for one night. Imi still looked unsettled, Daisuke noticed. Working up enough courage, he nudged her lightly. "You okay, Imi-chan?" he whispered. "I'm fine," she shrugged, giving a half-hearted smile. Daisuke wasn't satisfied and started to open his mouth to disagree, but Ginmaru held up a hand to save Daisuke from getting pounded. A brawl in the middle of Hokage's office building wasn't the best idea for them. Shogo would probably slaughter them all. The group made their way outside and down the streets of Hidden Leaf. "Imi-chan," Shogo scooped his arm around her shoulders, "you need to tell me, at least, what's really bothering you. I need your full focus tonight, and if anyone's bothering you, we need to get it straightened out." "Well, Sensei," Imi rubbed her arms, squirming a bit under Shogo's arm, "It's just that...I'm the only girl in this cell. And the Hokage said there's going to be a lot of men. Drunk men..." Her voice barely audible so that Ginmaru couldn't hear her subtle fear. Shogo smiled and gave her a bit of a playful shake. "Don't worry, kid. No one in this cell would let anything happen to you," he tried to reassure her. "I'm not so sure, someone," Imi turned to glance at Ginmaru over her shoulder, "would be protective of me." "Yes, he would," Sho's voice trailed, "No matter your differences, Gin-poo would fend for you. Deep in his cold complexities, he wouldn't let someone hurt a girl. Besides, if he's that much of an asshole, you still have Daisuke and myself." Imi snorted, trying to stiffle her laughter. Shogo smiled and ruffled the red-head's hair. The stopped outside of the ramen shop when Shogo proposed he'd treat the cell to dinner. "My treat, guys," he pulled the curtain back. "Ah, thanks, Sensei!" Daisuke entered first, followed by Imi then Ginmaru. The three sat in their respected order; Ginmaru to the far left, Daisuke in the middle, and Imi on the right. Sho smirked and felt that the small ramen shop was too small for Imi and Ginmaru, and he sat down between Daisuke and Ginmaru. "After we eat, we'll discuss tonight's mission," Shogo picked up his chopsticks. "Shogo-sensei," Daisuke started, his mouth full of ramen. "Don't talk with your mouth full," Sho stated, smacking Daisuke on the head. After a few minutes of chewing, Daisuke spoke again, "I didn't get a chance to ask earlier, but are you going to teach us the '9 Hells' no Jutsu?" Shogo finished the noodles in his mouth and set his bowl down. All three students looked up from their bowls. The Genjutsu was incredibly dangerous to teach to young Genin. It almost killed him when he first attempted the jutsu. These three Genin were no where near in control of their emotions to learn this technique. "I'll think about it," Shogo flashed Daisuke a silly smile. "Aw, that's something my mom would say," Imi grumbled. Shogo chuckled, twirling his chopsticks in the noodles.
21. I left a more comical reply on dA, but I just have to tell you that the picture rocks my socks. You captured Sho, and everyone's characters look just as I'd imagine them. Wonderful, girlie~! *hug* My cell has pretty much introduced themselves. But, you being one in the cell, should know this. I really hope some people start posting more :p Not to mention anyone's name. I was wondering, it seems that since we all have our own cells, there really isn't much interaction with other characters. Will there be more character contact between cells later in the story? I'm going to assume "yes" because they're going to have to fight each other for the Chuunin exams...so, eh, I just eliminated my question. >>; *lurks off*
22. Chapter 5- Don?t Shoot! Slow, heavy footsteps echoed in the seemingly abandoned Anime Archives. Years of inactivity made this forum feel more like a graveyard than an archive. And taking on the graveyard role, most members stayed away. But, in these times of n00b invasion, it was ordered that no part of the OB was left unexplored. Here, in the eerie and silent forum is where Parabola?s secondhand man carried out his search. Even though the mask covered most of his face, his identity was quickly recognized by the disobedient strands of silvery hair whisking gently as he moved. His hard and ever-skeptical eyes scanned the perimeter, looking for any signs of n00b activity. Unborn Lord Xion, pausing briefly, waved his right hand to motion his group to flank out. ?Debilitate anything that moves,? muzzled by the mask, his deep voice sounded rather nasally, ?But remember to keep them alive long enough to get information. Failure to comply, destroy them.? The two members behind him nodded in understanding and strayed forth. Now, most of everyone in the platoon used rifles of some sort, but ULX favored a sword. He believed it to be more of a personal abrasion by sword rather than a pistol. And he made it a point to prove that each time he unsheathed his blade from its scabbard. ?Sir! I think I?ve found something!? a member waved his rifle. ?What where you?re flailing that thing, Rifles,? ULX scorned, rushing to his side, ?This isn?t recess, you know.? ?Sorry, Sir. I get excited,? RiflesAtRecess squirmed, half-way pouting. ?Well, what have you found?? ULX kept his left hand gripped around his sword?s scabbard, his right hand clutching the handle. RiflesAtRecess disarmed his weapon and pointed it at a trash receptacle. ULX, giving Rifles a look of slight irritation, but realized that Rifles wasn?t pulling a prank. His face turned, Rifles shook his head softly. ?What the fuck..?? ULX stumbled back, looking at Rifles then to the trashcan again, ?Dump it, Sergeant.? ?Please don?t make me,? he pleaded, dropping the arm holding his weapon. ?That?s an order.? Sighing heavily, Rifles turned and kicked the trashcan. Several deleted posts and threads tumbled out; along with Stuart?s body. His face was discolored and there seemed to be several lacerations and lesions covering his body. ULX knelt down, fearing the young moderator was as dead as he looked. Rifles rubbed at his forehead and began to pace. If Stuart was dead, how were they going to tell Kitty? What would happen to the OB if an actual ?murder? had been committed? Would James shut the OB down until the investigation concluded? Biting down on his bottom lip, ULX removed the glove from his right hand and brought his index and middle finger to Stuart?s neck. There was no pulse. ULX froze as a brick of sickening emotion hit his stomach. He swallowed hard, trying not to let the others that had formed around him see his dread. ?Is he..? DDG pulled off her mask, revealing her worried face. ?He can?t be. This is just too heavy,? Rifles thrust his gun to the floor. The rifle, believed to be unarmed, fired a shot through Stuart?s foot. Rifles looked to DDG, DDG looked to ULX, and ULX was glaring flaming daggers at Rifles. -Somewhere else on the OB- ?Any contact with ULX and his crew?? Parabola turned to face his partner in crime, Mugen. ?No sir, no word from ULX. But we did receive a transmission from John just seconds ago,? Mugen pulled out a small notepad, ?He reports that he has a n00b in custody that may contain information as to where we might find Retribution. John, White, and KKC are holding the n00b captive in the Rules.? ?Good, good. Send Annie the info so she can take care of the interrogation, ? Parabola waved Mugen off, and motioned for the third party of his crew to follow, ?Nomad Tical and myself will be scouring the Anthology. We?ll meet you in the Square, copy?? ?Roger,? Mugen saluted and left to make contact with Annie. ?Let?s go, Tical,? Parabola armed his blaster, ?I?ll need your sharp attention to the threads in the Anthology to sniff out some n00bs.? ?Yes?sir!? Nomad Tical jumped and trotted behind Parabola?s long and swift stride. -Back in the Anime Archives- ?YOU IDIOT!? ULX bellowed, throwing a punch into RaR?s leg. ?I didn?t mean to! I thought it was disarmed!? Rifles exclaimed. The two began to wrestle and plant blows at each other. ULX swung his sword, but Rifles back flipped and picked up his rifle. ULX drew his blade and shot Rifles a challenging smirk; Rifles smiled back, edging him on. The two lunged at each other; ULX?s blade glittered and clashed against the metal of RaR?s barrel. DDG dodged a few misaimed kicks and swings from ULX?s blade, tripping over Stuart?s body and falling to the floor right next to him. With a shriek, she scampered backwards, her eyes still fixated on Stuart. She looked over him then realized there was no blood. There was only a white hole where Rifles shotgun had gone off. Tilting her head curiously, she crawled back to him to examine his foot. ULX and Rifles had lost their weapons, and struggled to get out of each other?s constricting pins before realizing what DDG had discovered. ?Why isn?t there blood and bone?? ULX dropped Rifles to the floor. ?Because,? DDG stood, holding Stuart?s alleged body up to her height, ?It?s not his real body. This is just a Photoshoped file.? As DDG dropped the look-a-like, it crumpled into a mass on the floor. ?We were dooped. That must?ve been who Mimmi and Ezekiel saw in the Lounge when the n00bs attacked. The two were pretty beat up by the n00bs; the frenzy was too much for the Photoshop Stuart to handle, and he got torn up,? she concluded. ?Damnit! I?m tired of games,? ULX growled, picking up and sheathing his sword. ?Well, I guess we should have expected something like this,? Rifles checked the chambers of his shotgun, ?We are dealing with a Photoshop pro.? ULX sighed and decided to make contact with Annie. He reached to his mask and switched on the communications link. ?Annie, ULX reporting,? he started. -Back in The Prefecture- Annie, the Bandits, and a couple of OB members spread out over the forums. Her, Mimmi, and Arcadia braved the Lounge once more; Sakura, retired Bandit, Revelation, and Syk3 searched Music, Movies & TV; Simplicity and Ezekiel stayed put in the Art Studio along with Kitty. ?..Ul?.repor..ing,? the small radio on Annie?s hip fuzzed and crackled. Not expecting it, all three girls jumped and clinged to one another. ?Where did that come from?? Mimmi whimpered softly, letting go and looking around the Lounge. ?Who dares?! Let me at ?im!? Arcadia climbed onto a thread. ? ?guys..there?? the crackling sounded again. Annie spun around, throwing her hands up in some strange kung-fu-wannabe-stance. The radio dropped to the floor at her feet, causing her to leap back and making the most unnatural of noises and spinning her arms to defend herself. Then it dawned on her, and she hung her shoulders in shame. ?Don?t worry girls, it?s just the radio Parabola gave me to get in contact with us,? her face burning red, Annie picked it up and pressed the button, ?Hello, this is Annie.? ?It?s about damned time. DDG, RiflesAtRecess, and I stumbled upon what appears to be a Photoshop file modeled to look like Stuart. It?s all beat up and showed traces of n00b letters, so we assume it was what Mimmi and Ezekiel saw in the Lounge earlier during the attack,? ULX?s voice weighed with disappointment. ?I see. So, Stuart?s real body could be some place else. He may not even be on the OB,? Annie rubbed her face. ?Well, let?s not jump to that great of a conclusion. Did you check Who?s Online?? ?I haven?t, no,? Annie looked up to Arcadia. ?I?m on it like white on rice,? Arcadia jumped down and jogged for the side menu options. ?Arcadia?s checking it out right now. Have you heard anything from Parabola?? ?Negative.? ?Thanks, continue with your search. We?ll get back to you if we find anything,? Annie clicked off and looked around the Lounge. It was still a mess. Mimmi and Annie began to clean up when Panda and Raiyuu arrived. The two wore looks of distraught but started to sift and sort through the threads. ?Mugen calling Annie and the Bandits,? the radio sounded again. ?Go ahead, Mugen,? Annie spoke into the small device. ?Yeah, hi, Parabola wishes to inform you that John is holding a n00b in custody in the Rules page. He gave word that the n00b might have information on Retribution?s whereabouts.? ?Good job. Thanks Mugen, as you were,? Annie threw the radio in the air and caught it, giving Mimmi a smile, ?We?ll wait for Arcadia, then head over to meet up with John.? ?Right-o!? Mimmi saluted. Annie chuckled and helped Panda move dozens of old threads. Raiyuu kept going on and on about ?damned heathens? and how much he?d like to ?fry some n00b toosh? with his mod rod. Each random outburst came with his hand in the air, shaking it towards the Heavens. Panda went on to shush him by tossing a single-lined post at him. ?Annie!? Arcadia burst through the doors, her face flushed and her chest heaving for breath. ?What?! Are you okay?!? Annie and Mimmi rushed up to their comrade. ?Oh, nothing. Just wanted to scare you two,? she laughed, clutching her stomach. Mimmi and Annie: -______-??
23. OOC: I forgot to include a minor detail in Sho's history, and wanted to let everyone know I will include it here. Also, it confuses a bit because the Sharingan was present in his village. Although, it was highly rare and it wasn't worried much about because (as I'll mention in the post) the Hidden Eye village was completely wiped out. So yeah...if it still confuses anyone, please PM me. Well, isn't he intersting.. Sho scratched at his eyebrow. He felt a cold stare from Ginmaru; not necessarily in anger for forcing him to reveal his true ambition, but almost as if he'd lost himself in his morbid thoughts. Sho sighed, appreciating Ginmaru's honesty. "No, sensei, mind telling us about yourself?" Ginmaru snapped out of his thoughts, and bringing Sho out of his. "Of course," he remained crouched before the three young ninjas, "You all know my name, but I'll say it anyway. I am Zankokusa Shogo. You will address me as 'Shogo-sensei' or just 'sensei' until I see you fit to call me anything different. Is that understood?" Sho stood up, and waited for the Genin to respond. Daisuke was the first, followed by Imi. Ginmaru tucked his hands under his arms, snickering slightly. "Gin-kun, did you suddenly become a mute? I didn't ask the question to hear myself talk," Sho demanded. "Yes, sensei. I understand. Could you please not call me 'Gin-kun'?" Ginmaru asked with a bit of a groan. His silver hair pasted itself to his face as he leaned back on the stone. "I'll call you whatever I like. You three are mine until you pass to Chuunin, or fail," Sho's tone dropped from a mildly serious to ice cold, "Firstly, I am not a native to the Hidden Leaf. I am from the very far, and very grim village of Hidden Eye. Before you ask, yes, that village is non-existant now. It was destroyed several years ago, soon after I arrived here." "Why was it destroyed, sensei?" Daisuke jumped in. "Because of a rare, and unexplainable occurance in a certain bloodline; the Sharingan. No one knows why or how the Sharingan showed up in our village, but it was certain that whoever was born with this bloodline would immediately be rid of it. The Hokage at the time of my birth would make visits to each family's house soon after an expected infant was born. If the child possessed the eyes of Sharingan, he would sieze their eyes so they would not be able to use the technique. The night of my birth, I was smuggled out of my household in hopes to spare my eyes. My father and mother believed the Sharingan, being so rare, was a gift; not a curse. For the first four years of my life, I was able to disappear from the clutches of the Hokage. My adopted mother and I lived in peace, and believed the Hokage had given up search for me." Shogo paused, his voice trailing off. His right hand clutched a kunai. He played with it mindlessly as he continued. "However, one afternoon, I was out fetching a pale of water when I was approached by Hogake's Anbu. Just one. I remember it as if it happened yesterday. I will never forget my fear and anxiety. I will never forget his voice. He spoke empty promises, but I being so young and naive believed his words. We left the little shack in the dead of woods. He took me back to the village where the Hokage had my eyes ripped from my skull," Shogo's hand tightened around the kunai, drawing blood. The three Genin winced; Imi brought her hands to her face, tracing under her eyes with her fingers. "So, for the lack of eyesight, I had to force my other senses to 'see' for me. As you can imagine, mastering chakra was absolutely necessary for my survival. Despite my criple, I wanted to be a ninja. I wanted to become an Anbu. My training was more intense than others, and insanely difficult. At the age of ten, I was able to call forth Hidden Eye's most powerful and infamous Genjutsu," Sho ignored the blood from his hand, it would be soaked in his bandages, and spun the kunai around his finger. " '9 Hells' no Jutsu," Daisuke breathed. "You've heard of it? Interesting. Even though I'm physically blind, I'm pretty good aim," Shogo smiled at Ginmaru and Imi, "with any weapon. I favor these," he reached behind his back and unsnapped the buttons of the holsters on his vest and pulled out two axes, "Though I use more Jutsu, these babies have saved my life numerous times. I believe that every ninja must rely on other sources rather than Jutsu. There are times where you will not be able to get one word out, so weapons are very valuable. I specialize in Genjutsu because I get the advantage in battle. I've mastered my blindness, I've lived with it for so very long. But for someone who's used to using his eyesight his entire life, and it to be suddenly taken from him, he becomes hopelessly disorientated during certain Genjutsus. Taking advantage of that, I can easily maneuver and take out my opponent." Sho twirled his axes in each hand before swinging them back into their holsters. "Now, my expectations for you three are extreme. I plan on dragging you through filth, blood, danger, and pain. You three, if you weren't strong to begin with, will be after I'm done with you. You will be unstoppable, untouchable, and incredibly capable of becoming Chuunin. This ain't no picnic, this isn't basic ninja training, this isn't the Academy," Shogo jerked his thumb over his shoulder to point towards the building, "Your training will be streneous, rigorous, and endless. I want, and won't settle for less, you to put aside your differences and work together. This is the real shit out here, kids.I understand the rivalry runs deep; but I promise you on my soul, if you cannot work together, you will fail--by death, or near death." Imi and Ginmaru locked eye contact briefly. " My job is to make the best ninjas that Konoha has to offer, not to babysit. You all are expected, as ninjas, to protect your village and Hokage with your life. What good are you to us if you die, or if you fail? And I'll say it again, I swear to you, if you cannot work as a team, you will fail. I do not show mercy to those who ignore my commands, or who make hardly an effort to improve and be the best they can. If you prove useless to me, you fail. If you act like a child, you'll fail. If you disrespect myself, any other Jounin, and each other, you'll fail. I ask for your obedience, trust, respect, attention, and confidence; deliver, and you might survive." The three Genin looked at each other. Sho sensed their minds scrambled to put together what he just laid on their shoulders. "Questions?" Sho walked behind Ginmaru to prop himself against the memorial stone. He looked down and amused himself by testing Ginmaru's patience with a blade of long grass tickling his ear.
24. Daisuke shifted in unease. Imi and Ginmaru wrestled around a bit; Ginmaru trying to kick her off of him, and Imi retaliated by putting her weight on top of him. Their faces changed from pink to red, and were now deepening into a shade of purple. Daisuke looked up to Sho. The blind Jounin brought his arms to his chest and folded them comfortably. The fingers of his right hand tapped gently, patiently, on his left forearm. ?Shogo-sensei,? Daisuke finally spoke. ?I?m curious to see what color their faces make next. Aren?t you?? Sho smiled and held his hand out as if he were examining his sharp fingernails. Most of the Genin, and some Chuunin and Jounin, he?d come across found him even more bizarre for having such long nails. And not just because they were long and sharp, but they were also painted black. Finally, coughing noises broke the silence between Imi and Ginmaru. Sho laughed as Imi tumbled down, first onto Ginmaru, then rolled off of him into the water. Ginmaru?s body, which he?d been desperately trying to keep on the seat of the fountain, dropped to the pebbled ground below. The two didn?t move. Deciding it was enough play-time, Sho nodded and looked down at Daisuke. ?Right,? he started, rubbing his hands together, ?Daisuke-kun, grab Ginmaru and follow me.? Sho leant over the bench and scooped Imi from the water. Daisuke struggled to lift Ginmaru?s dead weight, but found the strength to wrap one of Ginmaru?s arms around his shoulders. Daisuke ended up dragging him, mostly, but followed his eccentric sensei into a meadow behind the Academy. Sho stopped in front of a large marble memorial stone and lay Imi on the grass. He motioned for Daisuke to rest Ginmaru against the stone. The conscious Genin looked around, waiting for the two to wake up. Sho crouched down beside Imi and reached into his back bag. He pulled out a small, linen pouch and held it to Imi?s nose. She immediately snapped up and scampered backwards. ?Egh, what is that?!? she rubbed feverously at her nose. ?It?s an herb I acquired in my journeys. The locals in the area called it ?waking the dead powder?. The odor of the herbs can wake you from your heaviest of sleep. It?s even more potent when you grind it up. It comes in handy for waking up the unconscious, and poisoning,? Sho explained while waddling to Ginmaru?s side, wafting the pouch in front of his face. ?I?ll get you, you little---? Ginmaru flailed his arm and landed a punch directly in Sho?s palm, ?Oh, apologies, Shogo-sensei.? With a light chuckle, the Jounin rose to his feet and shoved the herbs into his pouch. Daisuke relaxed as he watched Imi and Ginmaru wake, and, to his relief, stay at a safe distance from one another. They didn?t even make an effort to lunge at each other again. Perhaps it was because they were still trying to get the horrid smell from their nostrils, or the towering Jounin patting his left thigh. ?Well, I don?t believe I?ve heard from you, Gin-kun,? he teased, ?If you can calmly introduce yourself--with no interruptions,? Sho turned towards Imi, and began to pace, ?then I will ask you to do it now. Once Ginmaru?s said his bit, I?ll properly introduce myself, answer whatever questions you have. I will then proceed to explain what is expected of you three and what you three will have to expect for your future. That is,? he stopped pacing, ?if you have a future.? The three Genin glanced at one another, then at the Jounin. A hint of confusion glistened in their eyes. Sho crouched down and intertwined his fingers together. A smile formed once more, and his sightless face focused dead on with Ginmaru?s face. ?Let?s hear it, kid.?
