Wow, it seems like everyone's backing out. :S I'm definitely in it, mostly just to get my name out as an artist here. I'm a little tired of all my threads being completely ignored until they sink into the mire of dead threads from days long past. Sorry, I'm just a little peeved at the moment. I'm trying to find a good picture to copy right now, so expect my first entry in by tomorrow or Sunday.

Meh. Sorry to be the one to say this, but it's just a bunch of squares to me. Personally, I'm not fond of "modern art." It's there to make you try to find a meaning in something that was created to never have one. :edit: I just realized what it makes me think of: tetris!

More artwork from yours truly! I think I'll stick to this thread for a while, and just update here. The first is another failed self portrait attempt. It looks nothing like me, except maybe the eyes and hair. The second is of a chinese girl in a National Geographic. She was pressed against a dirty window- why it's a little fuzzy in areas. My scanner cut off some of it, and I cropped off a little because it was shadowed. Constructive criticism and comments are much welcome. Please, just SAY something, so I know people actually bother looking at this.

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking... I will say that people at the fanart section are less than fair most times. I think most of my pictures deserve a much higher rating than what they have, but whatever.

Not bad. You've got the transparency of the glass pretty good. I don't know whether it was that light on purpose, or if the scanner killed it (I usually add some contrast on any pencil picture I scan because so much of the detail is lost otherwise) but darker shading would be nice.

o.o Where did you get the bandwidth to keep an AMV? I have two I've been wanting to get out, but can't find a place to put them...

Eh, one more question... can we use stuff we've drawn in the past? Or does it all have to be new? I hope you don't start the contest too soon, because now my mom took the digital cam with her on vacation for a week and a half, and I don't even have that. XP

Kagome's neck is a little long, and the way her knees are bent seems awkward. At first glance her eyes seemed wrong to me somehow, but the more I looked at it, the more I liked the style of it. Inuyasha's cheeks are a little TOO red, which makes it look less like blushing and more like he has Indian war paint on or something. XD I'm very nitpicky, but this is actually quite a good picture. I like it.

yeah, the lips would never come out right, but they look better on the original. The smeary effect has to do with how I had to add all this contrast in order for the pictures to be seeable... I want a decent scanner. :_:

Je parle francais un peu. I'm not very good though, I took two years of it in high school with a really bad teacher. I picked up as much as I could.

I thought it was really cute, especially the little quote thing. It would look nicer if it wasn't jpeg. Yes, there was that mispelling, bu other than that, for a first banner it's really good.

I like the first, the second is alright, the third one I HATE her faceline. The fact that they are on notebook paper makes them less attractive.

I finally got sick of waiting for the school to fix their blasted scanner and/or buy a new one, and took a few pics with my didgital camera. I know the quality sucks, but I tried to clean it up the best I could. I really wish I could, but I don't have a scanner. :( I have a digital camera, but that doesn't quite work the same. If my school's scanner is magically fixed before this is over, I will enter. :Edit: I changed my mind. No matter how crappy the digital pictures may be, I'd be upset if I didn't enter this. How many rounds can we enter in? When do we post our pics?

I've noticed you have a rather unusual shading technique. But it suits him... it's so dark and rough looking. I like it.

Will's eyes... they scare me... I've been doing some POTC sketches meself lately. Must say, Orlando has weird lips... impossible to draw right. Anyways, I love them, they're very nice.

It looks like it has a bow in its hair. Hence why it looks like a girl. Also, work on defining the face a little more- separating the nose and mouth, instead of making it such a vague shape.

... already I hate it... it's either a self insertion type thing, or written about an otaku. No matter which, it just almost never works to mention anime IN an anime.

Also, the hair's too flat. Anime characters are known for having really big hair.

I kinda like it myself, but I was testing a theory that if you insult your work, you get more attention drawn to it. :p Honestly, though, I hated how fuzzy that picture was, but it was the one I had to use. I considered making a border, but I like to break away from the norm. I wanted to make this a greeting card, but the pictures weren't big enough, and when I enlarged them, they looked too grainy. So, I added it instead to my small collection of banners.

Woo, the _square-ness_. I think this is the first animation by you I've watched that wasn't banner shaped. So... he never gets a job? I mean, what's up with that? Yes... I too noticed the misconception of Gollum's hobbitiness... It's good to know there are others as geeky as me. ^_^

Eh, I'm bored. So I make this. I liked the concept, but I only had two crappy screen shots from this episode that I could use. It has absolutely nothing to do with Kagome in particular, she just happened to be wearing the princess dress.

The coloring.... it's so pretty.... o.o I love the coloring style, how it has a watercolor-y look. And all the font styles you used.... it's really beautiful.
