Alright, judging's cool. Will do. You don't have to give me credit for the banner contest, by the way, I really don't care, I was just teasing. Can I come up with the criteria in judging? I'll pm you.
-
Don't ask me why I made this... I don't even WATCH Trigun. Just found a pretty picture, and had been wanting to use this background I made... and whabam, here it is.
-
A little vague again... needs criteria for judging, like how grades are done- 25% originality, 50% workmanship, 25% style, etc. Also, why distinguish between things drawn on the computer and things colored on the computer? I think drawing on the computer takes far more talent. If anything, it should be that drawing AND coloring are not allowed. Just for reference, the banner contest was MY idea... Nate stole it... :p

I've changed my mind- I think I'd rather be a judge. Can I?

My favorite mangas are Dragon Knights and Kodocha. I haven't read too much on the manga scheme: Shonen Jump, Ranma 1/2 on the scan-sub project site they had a while ago, occasional Inuyasha, Demon Diaries and Minto No Bokura (on another scan site), Dragon Knights and Kodocha are just about it. I don't usually like reading the manga for an anime I've seen- it's either the exact same thing, so there's no point, or it changes and ruins something for me.

I like Dragon Knights. Especially Rath and Karl. Fun stuff. I've been following it since the first one came out, and my friend and I own all the ones since. It's good, but as said before, the plotline is way too detailed and confusing, and the characters a little undistinguishable.

w00t! Fansubs rock. Except for some really stupid ones. I want to bang my head against the wall every time I watch a Yu Yu Hakusho episode where the butthole who subbed them got Hiei's and Kurama's names mixed up. I mean, how can you miss it every time? Yusuke shouts "Kurama!" and it'll read "Hiei!" at the bottom. *Sighs* But fansubbed Inuyasha episodes are the only way to go. *Shudders at Kagome's dubbed voice* 'Nuff said.

Hey, I was going to do this... Oh well. I'd rather be a participant anyways. I'll post again when I get a banner worthy enough to enter. But you need guidelines on how it is to be judged- creativity, text, etc.

This I did at school, though it's not a sketch. It's of me and my friends. Arrrg! We be pirates!

Purple noted, but I didn't want to over pink things. I needed a diff shade of pink, so I did lean a little toward the purple side. And I don't know why I didn't think of Kurama. I'll have to make another version with Kurama included. ^_^

Nice, but I like color a bit better. Even if you just tinted it a different color, or used luminescence (if you have paint shop,) I think it would help it a lot.

Interesting. Looks like something my portfolio teacher would make us do. My art assignment this time is to make some kind of sculpture out of STICKS.
-
At least I do. I laughed while making this.

I looked at your entry, and I think I can understand a little why you weren't picked. Your artwork was good, but didn't follow very true to manga style. Neither did your storyline. In fact, I think your storyline was a little weak, contrived, may I say unoriginal? The plot lacked development. You could have done better, I bet. There's always next time.

Guy. The eyebrows are too heavy, and the arms too muscle-y.

... yeah, my major accomplishments in school include getting a five on the AP Biology test (score is one to five, three being a passing) fours on the AP English Comp and AP US History, getting a 16/15 on a pop quiz I didn't read the material on so I pretty much Christmas tree-d, writing a 10 page story in one day, and, well, I guess getting a 1400 on my SATs. I play piano pretty well, but that may be because I've been learning it since I was very young. I taught myself the basics of guitar in one night, and I haven't picked it up but twice since. I'm really lazy. This is kind of a dumb thread just to brag about stuff you do. So, I'll shut up now.

First Name: Jessica Age: Just turned 17 Hair Color: Light brown Eye Color: A weird bluish green Height: 5'9'' Wardrobe: Umm... Clothes? I dunno, generally just a t shirt and jeans, and then there's the rare occasion when I decide to shock everyone by wearing a skirt. Very rare indeed. Personality: I'm intelligent (I say this without bragging), and my grades are important to me, though I know just how much to slack off to just barely get an A, and when a single grade isn't worth the stress it causes. I'm generally fairly laid back, occasionally amusing, often weird. Some people see me as the calm, reliable one, and others as the odd, off the wall zany type, so I guess I can be both. A little cynical and sarcastic, I will admit. Most people just see me as the artistic, smart person that's always drawing those "japanimation" things. Hair Style: Really long, wavy, very fine hair that everyone seems to want to play with. I generally wear it down. Favorite Music Type: Christian Rock, Alternative, and a little Punk Favorite musical Band/Artist: I'm not big on choosing favorites. Hobbies: Reading, Writing (both stories and poetry), Drawing, Drama, umm, doing a lot of stuff with friends Edit: Oh my gosh, I didn't read over my post before, and I had copied and pasted from someone else's, and so I accidently left some of it and feel really dumb.

maladjusted, you have very nice drawing style, and I really envy that you can do FOLDS in the clothes, something I have yet to master. The one thing I dislike about your drawings is the messy shading/coloring. I don't know whether it's because of lack of decent drawing materials (I HATE Crayola colored pencils) which sometimes can't be helped, or not spending time enough. Your pictures would be so awesome if you spent a little more time on the shading/coloring, or found some good colored pencils. I suppose since this is merely a school SKETCHES, I'm being a bit nitpicky, but I hope you won't take my "constructive criticism" wrong.

99% of my drawings are done in class. But, for something on notebook paper, I'll give you a comic strip I drew of my friends and I in our AP classes. I started penning it and didn't finish, and it's really messy, but we seriously act like this in class. I'm the one with long hair that's down and no glasses.
Originally posted by Double_B_Daigo Wow, you guys are lucky. Specially you, Avalon. I'm not related to any famous people, but my grandparents own a large hotel in Rethmemno Crete in Greece and my uncle owns "Pizza Time" in Bennetsville, South Carolina. It emblem is a pizza with clock hands. I'm sure none of you have heard of it, so well....crap... My family line is Greek, so they probably gp back to Greek warriors. I think my grandpa showed me a family tree of some sort and it showed a Greek Warrior in the old days, so, hey, Heroics!
*Gasp* You mean middle of no where Bennetsville, South Carolina? My Aunt and Uncle own a bed and breakfast there. No one ever seems to know where it is... And Vash's girl, my middle name is Lee as well, though not because of my connection with Robert E. Lee. It's from some friend of the family I never met before she died.
Originally posted by Stick Fairy I almost hate to say it, but saying the "Christian God" implies that there are more than one, and that you believe that there are more than one. Sorry.
If I said, "Allah is the god of Islam," is that any more incriminating? Yes, I believe there are more than one god, God himself commanded us not to worship any other gods, meaning that there are others. It doesn't mean that they're real, or have any power. Things can exist simply in the minds of people. Sorry Drix, I was being kind of a jerk... but I do get tired of people who call themselves Christians, but have want nothing to do with God or the Bible. Sorry if I kinda falsely put you in that category.

There are only two supernatural forces, one for good, one for evil. All that is good comes from God, all that is evil comes from Satan, therefore anything that is not from God is from Satan. Wicca, though seemingly harmless, is under that category because it supports idolatry and confuses the ideas of good and evil. It's just another good thing (respect and love for nature) that has been twisted into something wrong. The Bible spoke specifically against sun/moon worshippers, I believe. Another thing, you say you believe in "God," and by that I assume you are referring to the Christian God. However, your ideas show that you couldn't possibly believe in the Christian God because if you did believe in an all powerful being who created the universe, you would realize it's foolish to worship the creation and not the creator. Call it what you want, but this "God" you speak of is not the one I know. I don't know much about Unitarians, except that my youth group leader was one. A very active one I might add. I wish I knew more, but all I know is that she realized what a trap she was in and became a Christian. It wasn't easy for her, and there's quite a story behind that. Drix, for all your Christian arguments, your signature disturbs me. I am aquainted with Jonny the Homocidial Maniac through secular friends, as well as Interview with a Vampire, though I've never read an entire Jonny Comic or seen the Anne Rice movie or read the book, I know enough that they aren't very good influences. Also, the Bible is clear about gay relationships, so why are you in a yaoi fan club? I'm sorry, I don't mean to be critical or to condemn, but that doesn't show the Christian character that you display in your arguments.

It's a no show... how I hate that little x...

I can cook so long as there is a recipe. I used to think everyone could do that, but after taking my school's beginning cooking class, I see I was wrong. I like all sorts of food, especially fruit. Too many to choose, in fact.

Writing Today's Poem [M -- As a Precaution]
Megumi replied to Heaven's Cloud's topic in Creative Works
Here's something I wrote a while ago. Not my best, but I like it. Pages In this bookcase On these shelves Lie bits and pieces of my life In these pages The beloved words A thousand lives lived A million friends made Each paragraph an epitaph For the death of moments Spent immersed in these pages I laugh, I cry, I chew my nails I tear through til the last With the end comes fulfillment But sorrow lies on the final word Books will always end And we go on with our lives I've met and lost each friend I made On these bookcase shelves
