So, anyway... Hilary, I know a while back, in the midst of the recession Bill was campaigning to have the amendment that limits presidential terms repealed. He obviously had no luck, but hypothetically, if he had, do you think he'd be re-elceted and if he were, do you think it would help or hinder Hilary's politaical career?? Hilary Clinton will appear on the Daily show on Wednesday, might be interesting... Vote Drix, Ice cream for everyone!!

"It seems we've got a lot of stuff to talk about. First, not that I care, but are you alright, man?" Garm asked Dango zto start the meeting. Dango was pulled back to the room. "Yeah, yeah. I'm fine thanks to you. Can we start by talking about those glove-things?? What are those? and how did you fix me all at once like that?" "We'll get to that later." Selenay interrupted with drinks. "I am glad to see everyone here. I want to talk about lot of stuff." She gave a sincerly happy smile to the room. Rue's ears pricked up as he lay on the floor. He went to the window and Metta followed. She was joined by Terra. They saw an image that looked human-esque, then it disappeared. By the time everyone else noticed them at the window, it was gone. Metta and Terra were the only ones to see it. "It was probaly just Matt or one of his gang," Dango seemed sure, but Metta insisted it wasn't. Terra agreed, although she had not been present for the altercation. "He was just so menacing...and then he just disappearred, he didn't walk away, he disappearred."

As for scholarships--you can find them through other sources than just the school. Often local clubs give them to graduating seniors, like the Kawanis and Churches and the PTA. Also there are a lot of private business and organizations that offer scholarship contests. You can find a ton of them online.

I am currently an assistant manager for a vidoe store mega-chain. It's ok, I rent for free!!!!! but customers are jerks with bad taste in movies, "Hey, man, let's watch 'Old School' again, how many times have I rented that one??" Then they alway think they know more about the store that I've worked in for three years than I do. It's ok, but definitely not my dream job. My dream job would be theatre performance, on stage, lights, lines, the whole nine. If that doesn't work out I'd like to be a talent scout for a record label...

Stupid things you thought of or did when you were young
Maully replied to DragonArcher's topic in General Discussion
Let's see, I stuck a rock up my nose when I was five and I had to go the hospital tp get it removed. One day when we were in Wal Mart, I was throwing a huge temper tantrum. My mother, while she was dragging me out of the store, told me that I had just showed everyone in the store why some species eat their young. another time in the store, when I didn't get what I want, on the way out to the car I started yelling. "Help, Stranger!!!" oh man, did I ever get it for that. -
Catching up/// By 6:30 everyone had arrived and so had the pizza. Garm brought the meeting to order. He looked around the room at his 11 companions. This may seem spammy, but I don't know what the meeting should be about, but I thought it was necessary to put EVERYONE in the same place and time now. Just a reminder of all the characters so they can all be incorporated and not left out. No one answered. "Well, if we're not, they will come to Selenay's house to see about the 'prank call' but if we're here, there's npthing wrong with you now, they'll be suspicious. I suppose we should stay and say we over reacted, and the car drove away." Garm agreed, and they heard the ambulance approaching. Garm quickly hid has claws. The paramedics were amazed at how unscathed Dango was. They took all four of them to the hospital, where they were met by Dango's parents. Selenay's mother had called them as well. the phone at Selenay's house rang. " Hi, mom. I'm at the hospital with Dango. They wanted to keep him overnight for observation, but he's fine. We'll all be home soon. Is everyone still there? Yes, good. Can you order pizza for us, and we'll be there soon." Selenay turned off her cell and turned to Garm, "Are you still up for a meeting? Everyone's at my house and Mom's getting pizza. Besides, I think we should definitely discuss those claws, they're great." And so, they all set off to Selenay's house for the meeting. edited so Dango could go to the meeting too -_~

"Toan, I wish to share your quest with you. I have my own things I must do on this journey, and I do not like the idea of traveling with the rest of the others over there, but I feel that you and I are destined to defeat the King, together. If you want to travel with the others, then I shall go with you, if you wish to travel alone I will jonor your wish, but you must let me know." "The wizard told me I needed five companions, and I would be honored to count you among them. I know it is not a coincidence that we are all here tonight, it is destiny. Ungaga, I want to go with them, and you shall lead us. I have heard of you skill as a fighter, and I am afraid we'll need you." "So be it. We should talk to the others in the morning about a plan. There are five companions here, with the giant's apprentice, do you think these are the right companions the wizard told you about???" Toan was asleep before the end of Ungaga's question. Do not worry Toan, by my life or death your village and my family will be restored and the king defeated. I cannot say what is to come, but it will be long and hard, so sleep now.

confusion abounds, guys... we are all on different pages. Please read everyones' post carefully, we are losing flow. If you'l notice, Garm showed up out of nowhere, that you for the save Metetron, and there is nobady at the accident anymore because Metta took everyone to Selenay's house and then went back. I don't mean to be picky, but we have eople at three places at once... Metta arrived back at the scene to see Dango sitting up and Garm at his side. "How did this happen??" "Something new" replied Garm, "and useful." "Useful is right," coughed Dango, "how in the hell did that happen? I was gone and then I was back..." "The ambulance is coming. SHould we be here when they get here?" Metta asked a question no one else had thought of.

I am on my way to work right now, so I don't have time to say much. I'll edit it tomorrow, though, I promise, it's not spam. I was never required to read Beowolf, so I know little about it except that is is famously hard to read. I do, however, enjoy Homers works... to be expanded later... I really like this thread. I think it makes people take a second to try and look past the negativity in society and try to see honor and nobility out there, like the lady in front of me at the grocerie store today, the cashier gave her a ten instead of a five in her change and she gave it back...It made me smile. The little things can help restore one's faith. Unlike the guy who tried to rip me off for $10 a couple of weeks ago saying he gave me a $20 and he gave me a $10. Luckily I don't put $ in the drawer until after i give the change...some people

Toan, wait.I wish to speak with you some more, without the others, will you stand watch with me tonight? Toan - "I am tired Ungaga, I don't think I can stay up for watch..." "That is not important," Ungaga interrupted, " I shall keep the watch. When we are done speaking, you may sleep all you like." Toan - "Then yes, I will stand with you. Strange, even with only you on watch, I feel safe. It is no accident that we have met, Ungaga." With that, they clasped hands. They returned to the fire where their new companions were talking about food and how hungry they were. " I saw some store in on the those buildings over there. Toan, may we have them? You are the only left from the village to ask." Ungaga said. With Toan's permission he and Goro went to get some food. "Where do you hail from, giant, and what exactly brings you here? " WHile Goro spoke, ungaga found his mind wandering back to memories of his family. Can they still be alive as the boy said? It is too much to ask for. What if I go on this quest and find that he is wrong? I could not go on living knowing they were not avenged properly Goro was yelling," Hey, I asked you a question!! You weren't even listening. I said, 'what makes you think I am a giant?'" "You just have such a grand stature..." They returned to the fire without exchanging anymore words. Goro was obviously angry about being ignored. Xioa was once again interrogating Osmond, and Toan staring at his crystal orb again. They ate and Toan and Ungaga went to stand watch.

GuardianStorm just PMed me to say she's grounded, so she'll be back in a week, and has commissioned me to fill in Selenay, so in fear of going out of character, for my part, Selenay may be minimal over the next few days... Rue loped along playfully as Metta walked the others to Selenay's house. She had left Selenay to tend to Dango under protest, but she knew those bullies may be waiting down the road for them. "Rue!! Rue," Metta knelt down to the dog," I want you to go back to Selenay and make sure she's alright. Come get me if they need help. GO!" Rue ran off to find Selenay. Meanwhile the group was nearing the house. Everyone stopped on the porh as Metta rang the bell. Selenay's mother answered the door and gave Metta a surprise hug. " Metta dear it's been a while," always with a motherly smile. "Come in and have some cookies, children. Where is Selenay?" "I need you to call an ambulance, Dango has been hit by a car and Selenay and Rue are with him. It's about 7 blocks away. I just wanted everyone out of the chaos, they would only make it worse. If you don't mind, now that they are safely here, I am going to returnto them." "Of course, dear." Metta left and Selenay's mother called the ambulance and tried to make sure everyone else was comfortable.

A howl was heard from down the road and Rue quickly came into site. Selenay cried, "Metta, How'd you know we had a meeting??!!!" Matt turned to see who selenay was speaking to. He Faced a rather imposing girl who stood two full inches taller than he did. "What's you problem?? Whay are picking fights you cannot possibly win?? Let me tell you why you can't win. Even, if by some slim chance you could take on any of them, let alone all of them, if you have a problem with them, you have a problem with me. If that's not enough trouble for you, if you have a problem with me, you have a problem with Rue." Rue gave a visciously low growl, right on cue. "I don't even know you, why do you have a problem with me?" Matt stammered. "Leave now and I don't." She locked him in a stare from which he eventually broke. "Come on, let's get outta here, but this isn't over, once your freaky friend is gone, we'll see." Rue set to chasing them away down the road. "Euri sent a message on a breeze. I almost didn't hear it. Once I got to town, it was just up to Rue to find you to find the meeting." Metta flashed a rare smile. She was actully happy to see Selenay, it had been a long time since she's been in one place for a more than a couple of days, and Selenay would always have a place for her if she needed one.

How can you say that the BBC-BRITISH Broadcasting Corp. is unAmerican?? Did you not notice Tony Blair charging into war right behind Bush??? I know Blair has nothing to do with the BBC, but the was a sizeable following for it in England (please, correct me if I'm wrong, please). I happen to share the opinion that NPR gives a very liberal news, but they also, at least on my station, play the BBC late at night. I like to listen to that to know what is going on outside of Washington and LA and to get a foreign viewpoint on what is Happening in America. It is like taking a poll, info from here, here and here, compare and see if they match up. I live in the Bible belt Midwest, everything here is conservative, except me...Hooray for Kansas. I actually have to seek out my liberal daily dosages. Thank God for newspapers online.

"We are not going anywhere, not tonight. I see many of us have travelled great distances, and I would like to know you before deciding to make you my travel companions." Toan - " Ungaga, that is your name, right, Ungaga?" Ungaga nodds in agreement, "Ungaga is right, it is already late and I am weary. Besides, the Wizard said I needed five..." Ungaga - "Five what, lad? It doesn't matter, you cam tell me tonight as we sit at the fire, speaking of which, we need to gather some kindling." The group splits up to search what is left of the village for kindling, which is about all there is. The task proves too much for Toan who decided to resume his seat. Ungaga takes the opportunity to look around and investigate. All the buildings of the village are reduced to rubble or seemingly missing. There are also signs that a large group on horseback had been here, but it is long since that they have past. To Ungaga's relief, he saw no bodies. I am falling behind. I shall never catch up to those marauders, especially with this group holding me back. That boy, my god, that boy. He is so young, and there is no one to protect him. If the King's men were to find him, they would surely kill him. He reminds me of Holja, my Holja... A tear slides down Ungaga's cheekand he takes out a small shoe form his pack. My son, my only son. I shall protect this Toan-boy, in memory of my son. If it is his wish to travel with this party, then, I shall go with him, if not, and he wishes to travel alone, then I shall adhere to his wishes. Ungaga returned to the square to find the entire group had already returned and a fire had been started, which was good since he had not gathered any wood. As he approached the spot where they were Toan saw him and motioned for him to meet him a little ways away from the others. This is not part off the story, this is just a little hint... You guys don't have to pick up exactly where the last post left off, carry on with your character, like the next post can start with another charcacter and what is going on with them while they are out looking for firewood. Develop your character, the story can kind take care of its own chronology. respectfully submitted, the mole

"I do not think it is chance that we are all here at this time. My name is Ungaga. I seek revenge upon the king for the murder of my family. I will not rest until they are avenged." Ungaga looked around the strange group, a young boy, a girl with cat ears, a creature Ungaga does not recogize that fell from the sky a giant and his apprentice and himself. As his eyes circled they rested on Toan, This boy is so young, surely he cannot think to share this quest. Toan - "I, too, seek the king. this used to be my village and Xioa is my companion." Ungaga. What happened here? Tell me now, son, and why are you not harmed?? Tell me how this came to be and what this orb you hold is. Toan put his dagger to his side, and looked at the large man. Not knowing whether he should trust him or not he stands to face the man who stands head and shoulders above him. Xiao, sensing the tension stands as well and starts to circle the large man...

Ungaga had taken a long journey. A messenger from the King had arrived at his home. The king had heard of his exceptional fighting skills and he was to report to his castle. Told he could not refuse, ungaga travelled the four day journey to the castle. The king revealed a malicious battle plan to destroy the peasants in the land. Ungaga refused and tried to leave. He was attacked by the kings men. He escaped and rished home, only to find his home destroyed and his family killed. He vowed revenge, but knew he could not attack the castle directly. While Ungaga was travleing home the King's evil scheme was put into play. Minions were travelling the lands, destroying villages and people. Ungaga decided to tail the carnage in order to attack minions and learn of the strategies of the king. One day he came upon the ruins of a village. He expected to find nothing out of the ordinary, but there, in the middle of town sat a boy staring at a small crystal orb...

That may be because while lots of words tumble out of Hillary's mouth, it often happens that she never SAYS anything. She, along with Mr. Bill, are some of the greatest double talkers and backtrackers American Politics has ever seen. Vote Drix Hooray for Ice cream trucks!!!;)

I agree with James, absolutely about FoX news. As much as they claim fair and balanced, they are as conservative as anyone else is liberal. The trick is to look at everything and sift throught it and learn to think for yourself. This is where a lot of people find trouble, because they are not use to thinking about things and not just eating up what the television says. I, personally, watch CSPAN and watch what the actual politicians say and then decide what I think...but to each his own. Actually, I get all my news off mock news shows like The Daily Show with John Stewart *snickers*. Actually, I do watch that show a lot, and they make absolutely no attemp to hide that John stewart is VERY left-wing. It amuses me. Any-who, if the FCC has its way, what ever bias the corporate media has is only going to be made worse, what with them allowing corporate conglomerates to own larger shares of local markets...

I had also noticed that the conversation had turned to money, which I think I may have inadvertently started *sorry*, but the two should not go hand in hand. I meant that society doesn't hold some honorable positions, such as teachers, at the stature I feel they should. It was stereotyping for my to say that everyone is trampling people on the way to the top, but... I don't know how to finish conveying this thought. I will freely admit, not all rich people got that way without honor, or they don't have any now. Bill Gates just gave the largest medical research donation EVER for Malaria research in Africa, and just look at all the charity work of Ted Turner, and the fact that he challenges others to do so. In essence, honor is not dead, it is just not the held norm in the mind set of society.
