I can appreciate not being a fan of her music or her show or her message or anything else you wish to not be a fan of but people seem to have taken this really far and I'm curious as to why. Did I miss something?
I hate that she is just another celebrity's kid trying to be a celebrity too. So that's more of hating a circumstance more than hating her. I don't waste my time hating her personally, but you know how I love to hate things. Her music is awful and I wouldn't want my daughter (if I had one) thinking she is a role model.
Anyway, uh, sort of along the same lines as Dilandau, I like Ladd Russo from Baccano! The main draw with him is just that he is so gleeful about doing what he does best -- killing people. He is always so loud and boisterous when murdering someone. Totally horrible, reprehensible guy -- even among the killers and thieves of the Baccano! cast -- and yet I get a big grin on my face from watching him do his work. Russo just loves his work so much. Don't you wish you could be that happy going to the office every day?
Lemons, I LOVE Ladd Russo for the exact reasons you mentioned. That and while being completely simple, he still seems to put a lot of thought into things. In the opposite vein, I love Graham Spektor too simply because he is so loquacious and philosophical and then his abrupt
stop to all things in the nefarious plan when Clair shows him up is amusing

This, children, is what we call a "clever marketing strategy". If you don't mind being a week behind everyone else, then you can watch Bleach (or any other ongoing anime) for free a week after its original release, but if you want to be on the cusp of new episodes (not to mention get them commercial-free), you're gonna have to fork over the dough. Considering that you only have to pay about $7 USD a month and you get access to all the anime on the site commercial-free, I say it's a great deal, but the spoiled-rotten anime/manga fanbase (as Gome/Vivian put it) whine about that, despite how catered it is to them. If I could afford a subscription to CR, I would definitely get it, but with the recession and whatnot, it's just not feasible. Perhaps once things recover here in the U.S., people will be more willing to listen.
I'm not even sure it's so "clever". It's one of many lessons in Capitalism that the Egalitarianism of the web-based information flow seems to have made people forget. Supply and demand seems to have shifted in some minds to demand and be supplied (at no cost). $7 USD isn't bad at all, but I'm in the same spot as you.
By the way, Yuko is a terrible girl to date. I spent half the game getting her social link up, lol.
I never bothered to build up her link. I figured that is the kind of person I don't want to date in life, why waste my character's time with a vapid, useless relationship.

Shin, I love your movie topics. I can barely remember the last 2 weeks of movies, but I'll try. I almost never make it to the theater, but I watch a ton of dvds. Is this movies we see for the first time in 2008, or do movies we've seen over and over again go here too? SUNSHINE I'll watch anything by Danny Boyle, and throw in Cillian Murphey and I'm putty in your hands. Yes, I liked it. A group of scientists flying through sace to reignite our dying sun. Sets are breathtaking and the acting by a cast of people almost all of whom you'll recognize. 3:10 to Yuma I enjoyed this one, but it wasn't as grand as I thought it would be. Russell crowe was incredible and Bale was good. I love Ben Foster, and I'm glad that he had a major part in this one. Shoot 'Em Up I love Clive Owen, but what in the hell were all these people thinking. Any movie that starts off with a birth scene in the middle of a shoot out either should be awesome or awesomely terrible. This one was neither. Rio Lobo I think. Some old John Wayne movie. It's very much like many others... He was the good guy and saved the day.

Random Malicious Zombies Are Attacking Your City

The state prison is not far from here, provided I can get adequate transport, I think I might go there. Yeah, there's the criminal factor, but you've got lots of weapons, and high walls and a kitchen and laundry. As far as church, with the points you made, it sounds good, but think about people. If disaster strikes, many of them turn to church as a safe haven. I would think that churches would be one of the first places to fall after hospitals. I want somewhere more desolate. Population breeds danger in these situations. -
Out of the 20-something people who are legitimately running, you can't find anyone to get behind? Me either, really. At least not out of the front runners. I live and breathe politics a lot of the time, but I really stopped paying attention to the primary runnings. In my state of Kansas, registered as unaffiliated, until this year I could not even vote in a primary. This year, Democrats finally allowed independents and unaffiliated registered voters to take part. The Republicans did not follow suit, openly saying that they thought it would skew the results too much and that people would vote in their primary just to be troublesome. *shrug* I was really surprised when people started announcing so early that they were running. Now I'm a little burned out. I also have missed many of the debates. I do have general opinions on some of the candidates, but I find myself sadly under-informed from what I should be at this point. Rudy would spend us into the grave, not to mention, his political career is built on selling times square to disney and being Captain 9-11. He did show leadership skills in a time of tragedy, rallying to results. If you're a republican, at least fiscally, I'm not sure what makes you look to him. I do agree with many of his stances, but they are the ones that make republicans bristle at him such as his opinions on gay marriage right and being prochoice. Hilary-- I have never liked Hilary, and I cannot pinoint why. She has always seemed shady and underhanded to me. I do have to say, I admire her conviction to make sure that everyone in America can afford to go to the doctor. I do think that her idea this time around is actually better than HilaryCare. She's smart, I give her that. I don't like the way she became a Senator, Buying a house in NY state she lived in for 3 months and sold once she was elected. I also don't care how once the talk of presidential races came around, she started being less concrete in her statements about things she'd always stood for before to appeal more to the center and right, like gay marriage and being prochoice. Obama-- I really like this guy, and I am really upset at anyone who puts forward his inexperience as a reason to not run. He's progressive and straightforward, funny and smart. He has some really great ideas and views on issues that resonate with me. One reason that senators and congressmen who have been in office for a long time don't get elected is that with thousands of votes to their record, there are sure to be inconsistancies. Look at Kerry "the flipflopper" anyone's record will show that sometimes people change their minds. I think that now is a great time for him to make a move. Now to contradict myself... not necessarily this move. I think that Obama needs to attach himself to someone quickly and un as VP or be a strong cabinet member for whoever does get elected. 2008 is not going to be his year, and I think that 2012 or 2016 is for him. It may sound strange, but in order for him to be elected, he may not want to make the big leap on the first time out... In order to discuss any of the others in detail, I need to do some research. My oldest Nephew will be 10 in a few months. That makes me feel old. I also feel really old when I talk about tv shows from when I was kid, Like Gem and the Holograms or Land of the lost or Smurfs, and kids and teen say, "I've seen that in YouTube." if it weren't for that, they wouldn't know what I was talking about. Crazy Kids, heh. I laughed til I wept a few weeks ago. I went to the State Fair here and it was the day the marching bands were invited to perform. I looked at the high school kids and marveled at how young they look. I wondered if I looked 15 when I was 15. The absurdity of the thought was just beyond me.
Molly cause we need to visit a zoo, .
Somehow it makes me happy to be on someone's list, let alone Alan's. I guess all that effort I put in way back when paid off... I'd love to meet Alan. We can go to the zoo, as long as there are penguins. I also want to meet Tony. When I used to post a lot I was always in awe of well thought out and intelligent posts, although I'm too shy to initiate anymore chats with him. James, because he's so levelheaded and deals with everyone with the insight of a sage. I wanna meet Mimmi cuz I already love her to DEATH and Anomoly since she's a fun girl. I also love jazzlady22, someone who does not come here anymore. I don't remember if this is her SN anymore, but anatema. She's incredibly eloquent and creative. SOLO, I want to meet that lovely Englishman. He's polite and delightful.

I have 2 dogs. One is big and dumb and the other is medium-sized and pretty smart. Damien, my larger dog, is a gorgeous mixed breed dog that we got from the Humane Society. They said we was a lab/mastiff mix. I'm not totally convinced of this, but meh. He's a year old now, and still kind of hyper. My other dog's nameis Esther. She's a 2 year old Australian shepherd. She's an incredible escape artist and loves to chase squirrels. Both dogs are affectionate to almost an obnoxious degree... but I love them. I used to also have a cat named Kyo, but when the dogs moved in, Kyo moved himself out, and I haven't seen him since. That makes me a little sad.

I have a self-professed obsession with zombies, so I felt a compulsion to see this movie. Not to mention the fact I LOVED the first one. I found it thought provoking and incredibly well made and I'll pretty much see anything theat Danny Boyle attaches his name to. Okay, enough with the first one... I saw 28 Weeks Later tonight and I really enjoyed it. I have to say, personally I enjoyed the first one better. I found it deeper, except maybe the doctor and the soldier. The personal and professional choices by those two characters were a nice case study. I really want to just dish and dish, but I'll give all kinds of spoilers. I have to agree with James, though. The re-introduction of the virus was totally believable.
I don't quite know how she would have actually escaped, but... I will believe it. And as much as I adore him, I did get tired of Robert Carlisle popping up everywhere and being the perpetrator of everything. I also had to suspend disbelief that his ALL ACCESS pass actually gave him access to the military quarantine
. As a zombie geek, I will say that there are flaws in the idea of zombie invasion movies. Please, let this also spark discussion, if a zombie BITES you, you turn into a zombie, but throngs of zombies EAT people, so how do the zombies continue to pertetuate themselves if they eat all potential zombies. I realized SOME are going to escape, but REALLY? Moving on from my very random though I had during the movie. I found the American presence completely believable, and the parallels to current military action I can't imagine are an accident. The movie even used the term "Green Zone" for the small area of the city that was thought to be safe. That's what I got for now, but I'm totally open afor any discussion.

I didn't read the entire topic, but to try and bring a different arguement to the screen, just because a movie is rated R does that actually mean that less children will see it? I was just at an R rated movie tonight (28 weeks later) and there were 1 infant and 2 children under the age of 10 in the theatre, presumably brought by the parents. Another example, when I was in colege, The Exorcist was rereleased to theaters. I went to a midnight showing on Halloween, and it was like a freakin' daycare. I actually told some lady who brought her 4 kids under 12 that if she couldn't afford a babysitter, she couldn't afford to go to the movies. Kinda harsh, but I plead the fifth. Anyway, back to the point, is rating a movie R going to make less kids see it? I don't think so. Yeah my parents kept me sheltered as much as possible, but sadly many parents pay little attention these days.

I want you to think about this real hard, which is worse, prison or Bel Aire? You've been sent to a different kind of prison, one with sunshine and beaches and bikinis.... Oh, wait. Nevermind. *mourns DeathKnight* Just take the car to the carwash and ask everyone you see to help you wash it in a very frantic manner, tell them it was just a dog. I bet strange things will happen. Blame Shinmaru

Really, I don't understand why there hasn't been a revolution in this country. I understand that we are in a capitalist economy, but most of the other first world countries in the world, even the capitalist ones, have Socialized medicine. The bare bones fact is that, with a fear of sounding ethnocentric, drug development costs a lot of money, and many drug companies are counting on the prices paid by Americans to pay for the bulk of their costs due to the price regulation in other countries. I am not on their side, mind you, but there is an excuse for a SMALL amount of price differences. As for generics, that research has already been done, it just needs to be produced... A lot of companies that make the generics do not do new drug research, they just manufacture. I totally agree that the cost of medical care is running out of control, and it's incredible what we, as consumers, get charged to sit in a room for 45 minutes before we see anyone and then a 10 minute visit, probably with a Nurse or PA. Not to mention the fact that you are not often told the cost up front, you only find them out AFTER the services are rendered, therefore not allowing you to shop around. What other industry can that happen in? Answer me that. EDIT: As for Birth Control prices and BUSH and the Catholic Church, I think that line is a little disjointed. Neither the President or the Church have direct control over those prices unless they are directly legislated. I can agree that Bush has done NOTHING to help the basic American, but the price of The Pill is not his fault, neither directly the result of Pope Beneict either. I know you were making a point, and I don't mean to be picky, but Bush is not Catholic, nor is he in the Vatican's pocket.

Shin, it's not very responsible of you to let this mount up. Let's add mine to the tally. As the High Priest of Molly-ism, Shinmaru pledged to build a temple to glorify his Lord, and personally finance it himself. Well, I co-signed for funding. Having a congregation of worshippers does wonders for the credit rating, you know. Anyway, 23 million in loans and 13 million in real estate later... he may lead the movement, but I still haven't seen a cent EDIT: I am in love with the pete and pete avi though. You're still not forgiven.

If You Could Fly, Who Would You Spit On?
Maully replied to DeadSeraphim's topic in General Discussion
From 100 meters, would it be fatal, like a penny off the Empire State building? I think I might choose random bald heads, since they'd know what was going on. It sounds like fun. I'm feeling very much like a pigeon when I think about this, bald people and newly washed cars. I want to find my old boss's escalade and drop pebbles on it. -
I used to be crazy involved with the boards. I'm a lot like everyone else who has posted here, I lack the time I used to have, and I either would just be beating a dead horse or have no interest in the topics at hand. I find myself thinking, "If there's nothing interesting to post about, start something interesting." Sadly I am also boring and cannot think of interesting topics to start.

I always found that if I asked, I was rarely denied. But those same boys that said yes when I asked, never made any move to ask me. I find no problem with girls asking boys, or vice versa. If you want something, go for it. The worst that can happen is rejection, and while that sucks, it should make you stornger in the long run. I'm terrible at being humble, other than that, I'M GREAT. Back to reality. I'm terrible at self motivation. I can just let things sit there and not get done forever. I can't type very well either. I always end up with typos, even when I've had a double look. I'm terrible at keeping in touch with people too.
