Gam had been in the fray, though not being overly active for either side. She saw that they demons were taking the upper hand and was welling with joy. Just a the momentum was with them, the clouds opened up and revealed Angels, legions of angels. Among them she was surprised to see Artimus, the rogue. Not just among them, but leading them. Gam was staring up at at the sky and she thought she'd caught of glimpse of Nymphanine...It was Nymphanine! At this realisation, she dove into the Hell-Mouth before it closed. Her destination was the palace. Her Lord must be informed of this turn, God has given his support to the Half Dragons, and he had been betrayed!

What is the true meaning o f Christmas? I'm actually glad this thread is here. It just shows that the holiday means so many different things to everyone. To me, Christmas is a time to spend with loved ones. I miss my family and I am glad to get to see them. It also means a lot of food. My family grazes all day. Presensts are cool, but I actually prefer to give than get. I love to see faces of people when I give them things. It's really gratifying when they llike what you've given them. Now, on to the meat of the questtion. I am not a particularly religious person, but I believe that Christmas is to celebrate Jesus' birth. It doesn't matter to me that he wasn't born on that day. It is a day that the church has decided to set aside for it, seeing as it would probably be hard to pinpoint the date at this time. I love to go to Midnight Mass. It's one of two times a year I go to Church, I think the service is really beautiful and joyful. There is not much Christianity left to Christmas in the public eye, it is something you keep for yourself, if you so desire. If Jesus isn't your thing, then someone will probably give you presents anyway.

Gam was torn. Just by coming, she knew how many of her kind were loyal to God. What's more, she could let them go off to battle and all be slaughtered by her ally, Gekanisel, and rid her master of a plight, going beyond her call. But these were her brethren, her own kind... and what if the battle goes awry and the dragon is defeated? She would have disappeared, making her untrustworthy to her target if he survives the battle... Gam went into the mountain to start a fire... She was trying to contact Lucifer. Lord, I am amongst the army of God. There are at least 3000 half-dragons here, in the span of a day... They are marching on Gekanisel... Be warned! Defend her. I march with our enemy, but to further our cause. She doused the fire and joined ranks and flew into battle on the side of her enemy. She did not want to fight Gekanisel... It would be a losing battle, she knew already. Even with another 1000 half dragons, they were no match for the immortal soul of a full dragon.

Gam looked up to Delnorath. She was on a mission. She spread her wings and broke rank. She flew up to meet him. "this is quite a gathering in a short time, Sir. All of these are God's faithful in this war?" "This battle is not in God's war. This is a battle for our kind." Delnoreth was rather short with her. She persisted to him. "I came here under the impression that this was an effort to help the side of heaven in the war. The Spirit of the last dragon has turned to darkness. So, we are fighting for God?" "It is true, what you have heard. We are trying to defeat her to help ourselves, though. God will not give us assistance in our own fight against the demons because of her." "Has He told you this?" "He would not see me." Delnorath looked shamed at these words. "Sir, my name is Gamaliel. I wish to be helpful, to serve you, and God to the fullest extent. I am a skilled fighter. I wish to work close by your side." "I shall think about that. Thank you for your dedication." With that Delnorath turned and flew away from her. Gam had once againbeen put off by this male...Twice in one day...it didn't happen often, and she was rather vexxed by it. She had missed two obvious opportunities, and if something didn't happen soon, she would be punished.
-
Gam reached the encampment for Delnorath's army. He had taken slight notice of her, but not as much as she would like. She joined the ranks, near the front where she could see him, try and manuvuer close the him...perhaps save him at an opportune moment. She looked around her at the swelling ranks and found herself very uncomfortable. Never before had she been in the company of so many who were sworn to God. She shrank inside, not knowing what to do with herself. She felt as though they all knew she should not be there...they were all staring at her, she could feel it.

As Artimis took flight, Gam to to the underworld. She went to seek counsel from Lucifer himself. As she arrived at the palace, Satan addressed her mind. I have seen you were accosted by the Fallen One. He will not come to me. What did he tell you? "Please, Lord, if I may just see you, we can speak of it..." I have no time for a weakling who cannot get the job done. One who is afraid of one such as he. What did he tell you? "He told me not to seek Delnorath. My Lord, what am I to do?" Continue your search. Delnorath is angry at God, and fertile ground to plant your seed in right now. You must find him, he is the key. "Yes, Lord. I shall bring to us." With that, Gam left the realm, feeling dejected and angry. As she reached the surface, the glare of the sun made her wince. She continued on to her home, where she meant to rest. Rest she would not, though. There was someone waiting for her there. It was a minor demon, but she was furious to see him there. She drug him in, out of site as quickly as she could. "What are you doing here. Don't you realize that I can only work if no one is aware of my allegiance? What do you want?" "I have seen him, Lady...The one you seek. He is starting to muster troops in the west to fight Gekanisel, an ally of our Lord." "This si most helpful." Gam left her house without another word and headed west to join the call against Gekanisel. Delnorath will be mine.

Gam had heard of the slaughter of the half-dragons at the hell-mouth. While glad of the victory for her own side, she was still angered by the fact that her own kind were sacrificed to see the allegiance God paid to those willing to fight for him. Lucifer had his answer: none What's more, she had heard rumor that Delnoreth had some trouble conjuring the pearly gatesa to open. SHe smiled at her own good fortune. Not only can I milk him for information, he is ripe for corruption... Se set off to find her new prey, not even knowing where to begin. She took to the air to search. First she went to the scene of the battle, but found no living creature there. She decided to check the Temple of God, but still did not find him. She came upon a gathering of other half dragons, and stopped to inquire of them, "Do any of you know of Delnorath? I heard he witnessed the slaughter, and I would like to speak with him of it." "Yes, lady, we know him. He's not been seen since the battle, though he was not found among the dead. He is probably communing with Our Lord." Damn, the one place I cannot seek him out... " I thank you, sirs. Is there any thought to when or if he may return?" Her question was answered with a shrug from the group. She took to the air again. As she soared away, she became aware of a presence behind her. She dove towards the surface and found whoever it was to be following her. She landed gracefully to meet her stalker head on. As she turned to see, she found a surprise waiting for her. Artimis, the cast-out Angel had sought her out. "You seek Delnoreth." "I do. Can you help me find him?" "No, he was unharmed in the battle, he needs no help from you. I know where you've been, girl. You mean him ill will." "I do not know of what you speak, Majesty. I only seek information on the slaughter of my brethren." "Do not use you lies on me. I have seen you come and go from the hidden gate. You are a servant of the dark one." Artemis drew his sword. Gamaliel felt very threatened, but could not mave for her weapons. "I mean you no harm, yet. But this sword is for you if you continue to seek Delnorath."

Indeed, Lucifer was true to his word. He sent word to her of her new base by nigthfall. She was slightly surprised when her fire flared in her hearth and then died suddenly, leaving only a scroll of paper. Very nice... she smirked. She followed the directions to find the most lavish living quarters she'd ever seen. She then found that was not it, it was in the forest behind...a mall woodman's cottage. Nice trick. She entered the cottage and found things to be already in order, a file cabinet, some furniture and a hearth with a fire already burning. She sat on the bed and looked at a dosier sitting in front of the fireplace. Delnoreth: A half-dragon male. Severly loyal to God. Likes to thinks he's in with the angels. Furious in battle, never gives up. Enjoys private visits with God, very interesting... Hmmm, no picture. How the hell am I supposed to find him? I guess that's what they pay me for. I wonder why there is is only one dosier. Doesn't leave me with a lot of options. I will need to think of a contingency plan if he doesn't work out. She decided to go back to her own house and try and figure out a way to meet this Delnoreth.

Legato is so dependant...After losing Knives, he would need someone to be his master, if he were to survive. Have I seen that he and Wolfwood are still alive in the manga? I never remember what the differences are at this point. WHy not Milly? I just found it to be a fresh idea, even if you don't like your execution, hehe. I always enjoy a new, fresh take on things. Besides, I love Legato and find him really interesting, so I like things that delve into his story. Okay, here's a bit of a hotpoint, what about Knives/Vash? Knives wanted to live out his life with Vash alone, and while it is a longshot and is perhaps a one sided relationship, I think this could be twisted, and I emphasize twisted into a story.

"Gamaliel, my lovely... Thank you answering, but I see you took your time." Lucifer smirked at Gam. "I was employing stealth, my Lord. I'm sorry I made you wait. What is it that you ask of me?" "As everyone knows, a war is forthcoming. I need to know the numbers of your kind that are joining the side of God. I would like to set you to recruiting for our side, but you seems to prefer to work underhandedly as a spy." "It suits my nature," Gam said with a smirk. She straighten her back and spread her scaly wings as if the ability to lie and manipulate people were admirable traits. "So, you are asking me to infiltrate God's army? Or to just befriend a known recruit?" "Whatever suits your needs, my dear, but I need to know quickly. Is there anything you require that I can provide?" "I think I am well set, though I have seen in your armory a quiver that supplies endless arrows, it would be helpful." "Consider it done." The quiver appeared on the floor at her feet. As she bent to pick it up, Lucifer continued, "Is there nothing else?" Gamaliel turned the bend into a bow, "No, my Lord. I shall take my leave then." She turned toward the door she had entered through. As she started to go she stopped adruptly and turned again. "Sir, might I make another request after all?" He nodded in agreement. "I require a residence. I have no homebase to collect information at. My own home is not going to work this time, as that is a lot of information, and I do get visitors." Lucifer laughed at her as if she were joking. "That is easily done, I shall send you word of your new quartes by evening. Now, if there is nothing else, I have others to see." Gam left the realm without incident, already planning her stategy for her assignment.

I've never really thought too much about Wolwood/Legato... It's an interesting though. I shall have to muse over this one, first thought though, I find it very intriguing. As for Wolfwood/Milly pairings, I see it as plausible, but unlikely in the long run. I don't think he has the patience to deal with her all the type. He would lose his mind, lol. Vash and Rem, Vash loves her, truly... I don't think it was the same for Rem though. IMO, she saw him as a little boy and had more of a motherly love for him. As a pairing, I don't see how it would work. My favorite pairing I think is Knives/Legato, even though I don't see it as working in a healthy menner, and maybe that's the appeal. I did find you Milly/Legato pairing interesting though...
-
I could definitely see the Wolf/Midvallry pairing... It's very easy to support if you want to see it. It sticks out really easily to me. As to K/L pairings...I could see it working as an abuse form from K to L...Legato searching for meaning or more and Knives just trampling his spirit. I find it difficult to picture Vash in any pairing, really. He's just so Eodipal towards Rem. even the affection towards Meryl that is alluded to is not convincing for me.
-
Juat when I fear the worst, you come to the rescue....again, MillieFan. I can see a pairing between Knives and Legato except for one thing. Knives hatred for all humanity. I don't think that Knives would "lower" himself to the level of any kind of realtionship with on, except one like I picture the GHG, a vehicle to use to destroy his brother... I think the W/V is completely unfounded... It's just some idea that fans enjoy, but it is not supported by the plot of the series.

Gamaliel sat against a tree on the surface of the planet, staring up at the sky. The surface is not an awful place...I wonder why no one spends more time here... She stood up and stretched her wings. She put her belt back around her waste and prepared to go on her way. She walked a short way before taking to the sky, making towards the mountains in the west. She was making towards a gateway to the Realm of Lucifer. She must be secretive, and not seen. As she entered the darness, heat welcomed her. She tried to avoid beings, even here...You never know who may be a spy for her enemy. She slinked her way towards the palace. Lucifer had sent her a summonce the day before. She watched as Nymphanie and Legnakrad left the palace. She spread her wings and flew up to a tower and entered there. Once inside, she too a corridor straight to the throne room. Knocking once and not waiting for an answer, she entered. "You sommoned, My Lord?"

Hope I'm not too late... Here's mine... Race: Half-Dragon Name: Gamaliel Gender: Female Age: 1856 Appearance: Lovely, though strong. Long brown hair and green eyes that match her wings. She wears a black tunic beneath a form fitting metal breast plate, green leggings and black boots which contain a matching pair of daggers, just for emergency Side: Lucifer Persona/Mannerisms: Quiet about her alligiance, she is a spy for the darker side of the war. The innocence and youth of her looks work in her favor. She is manipulative and treacherous Weapons: A broad sword and a crossbow, both well used, though she'd never tell what she used them on. BIO: Gam is young by the standards of the warriors in this fray, but learned to fight in the way all her race did. Taught from birth to be a warrior, she is fierce when needed. Her parents were mysteriously killed on a mission from god about 150 years ago. It was Gam, though no one supspect this. She is a high ranking official in Satan's army and got there through sneeky treacherous means. Other: can't think of anything for this part...

2004 Re-Elections [a.k.a. Is Bush a Good President?]
Maully replied to eleanor's topic in General Discussion
Is this the way the thread is going to go? Quite Frankly, CS, your posts are tedious... I agree with TN on every aspect of what he's said in this thread, but I am above petty squbbling until right now. Your posts are inane and you are not making any points with your "bring it on atitude". You make 2 page long post, which you point out yourself, and yet there is little point to them other than to try and pick a fight with TN. That is not what this is about. I realize that you politics clash, but there are civilized ways to go about them, and you seem to have so much animousity and anger. You points are lost in your attitude. Try poting something of a mangeable length, then maybe people wouldn't skip over it and lump your posts into a one sentence reply... Now, on to my opinions: As to the American Patriot Act, I hate it. I think it is an outragiously overboard effort, and I don't want to be put on a list somewhere because of what I check out at the library or what I talk about on my cell phone. I am not a terrorist, but with my reading lists I could be tagged and probably already have. The people in Guantanimo Bay: They are being held without charges, without counsil without trial dates, and without being able to contact anyone. It's not just the Australians that are raising a stink about it either... I really don't have anything else at this time... -
2004 Re-Elections [a.k.a. Is Bush a Good President?]
Maully replied to eleanor's topic in General Discussion
My land's people... That took me an hour to read the whole thing at least... I don't think I will try and rebut anyone in particular, I'll just tell you my thoughts and have them eviscerated by everyone else. I voted Bush in 2000. I really thought he was doing well, then came 9/11. That was an event that would have happened no matter who our President was. I like the demeanor Bush took afterwards, but wish there had been more thought put into his words, and later some actions. I thought it was good that he told people that America was not going to bow down to these attacks, that we weren't going to be susceptible to them. There were all sorts of ideas and few real actions. Now, there are fewer airport screeners than ever, the immigration system has seen little reform, almost none positive, in my opinion. There are still people being held without representation in Guantanimo Bay. The economy is more the fault of the terrorists than Bush as well... They took the legs out from under the travel and tourist industry, the airline industry and the plane manufacturing industry. Living in Wichita, KS or even near it, every person I know feels those losses in some way or another. While I know that is not the whole economy, those are pretty big parts of it, and the one I experience daily. I know Bush is not stupid, that makes him more of a threat in my eyes. People trust him, he's a Blue Collar sympathizer... The man has never worked a bluecollar job in his life... He targets the "Nascar Dad". (who else hates that term?) I feel that he has a hidden agenda of some kind in a lot of his actions, and he's smart enough to hide behind looking dumb. I don't agree with the size of his tax cuts, while I don't mind tax cuts, I don't think it needed to be that large. I would much rather have books in my school, thanks... I think we were a little hasty going into Iraq. More than that, actually, but now that we are there, I do not favor pulling out at this point. We can't it'll leave a place for another Taliban. We know that Sadaam was a tyrant and he killed many people, Something needed to be done. I agree with that. I wish that it had been the reason for going over there... I hate No Child Left Behind; PT summed that up pretty well. I think it is, in it's current format very detrimental to the education system. Education...Isn't that the ticket Bush rode to the White House on?? What else has he done there??? Let me know, please. [edit]I won't be voting Bush in 2004. I haven't decided who I will be voting for though. the Democrats are not putting forth anyone who can beat him I'm afraid. So, let the tear up begin, I know I didn't site facts and so forth, but this lays the ground work for my portion of this discussion. -
I have actually put a lot of thought into this. the conclusion I have come to is that I will take his name. It's short, it's nice, and I'll move up quite a bit in the alphabet... It's never been too much of an issue for me. I put some thought into it, but I couldn't find a reason not too. I am myself whether I have my name or his.

Better and better, Solo. *hangs head as a newbie* I found the whole thing hilarious, if not scary. You're attention to detail about the characters is awesome. I think my favorite part is where they are burping smilies.

Plastic Surgery: Good Idea, Bad Idea?( please mature audiences only!)
Maully replied to Emme888's topic in General Discussion
I used to be very against plastic surgery. i thought it was for shallow people who needed the approval of other shallow people. I am kind of changing that opinion. I think that, for some people, it helps with their self image. You sound like you have an attractive figure. Don't worry so much about attracting boys, in the long run, it's not going to be the breats that keep them around, you know. Look into yourself and ask why you really want this. Also, look into other way you could be happy with yourself and improve your self esteem... Keep in mind, you are 15, youmay still grow... -
On Thanksgiving my family goes to visit my grandparents on my mom's side. This just means a whole lot of grief for me, as I don't get a long with them. My grandmother makes rude comments to me all day about my hair color or my eyebrow peircing... No one there talks to me like a person, let a lone an adult, and I am almost 23. Thanksgiving to me is a headache, but bring on the turkey and football

Well, I evidentally killed this thread with the prospect of intelligent conversation. Sorry. Didn't mean to run you guys off. How about this? I lOvE lEgAtO!!!!111 Nope, can't do it. Vash--That goofy donut muncher. When I first watched Trigun, I though he was kind of annoying, when he would goof out. Now, it's grown on me, you know. He seems two-demensional, shallow at times. The depth of the character at times is good though. I think that the Vash/Knives conflict is well compared to Jacob and Esau (sp?) almost. Twins, one favored by the mother (vash Rem being the mother, of course, and Jacob) the other banished to lead his own country, or gang. Think about it, really...
-
I am not straight ticket either way. I am registered unaffiliated. I don't get to vote in Primaries, since they're party only, but I am also not party pressured to vote one way or another. My political views are pretty moderate, but from time to time I skew very far to one side. I agree with Vegitto4, register whichever, but vote the way you feel, not just on your partylines.

Do any of you remember Fear Street books by R.L. Stine? Well, R.L. Stine was the head writer for Eurika's Castle...nifty little fact there. I used to watch all these show as a kid, except Power Rangers, I was a little old by then. But my favorite has to be The Mysterious Cities of Gold. It was on Nickalodeon... I loved it! It was about these three kids, trying to find the cities of gold before the conquistadors... It was great.
