When I am a famous multi-millionaire business tycoon, I will proudly proclaim that the secret to my success does not stem from an article in a titty mag.

Music from King Crimson, Kyuss, T. Rex, Toadies, or Soundgarden. Any of them are great GH material. Also, a solo mode (like I've heard Guitar Freaks has) would be great, as well as a way to import songs and convert them yourself. Of course, the latter is probably pretty unlikely to happen due to both horribly dickish copyright laws and having to separate the guitar part from the rest of the song (you could get by this by just having the entire song fade in volume when you're not hitting notes or something of that like, but it would obviously be a pretty ghetto way to do things).

It's always a better idea to keep the money around until you blow it on games you really know you want, if you ask me. Except Guitar Hero II like G/S/B Master said. And an extra controller. Always a good idea, that.

If you know her email, I'd shoot her one anyway because she'll probably eventually check up on things at a library computer or some such, yeah? Tell her how she can contact you and stuff, ask her how you can find/contact her. And don't feel nervous about wanting to find her. You may think it seems like you're trying too hard and making your feelings too obvious, but that's probably only in your head. Any friend would want to find another one that they'd lost contact with but is still around town somewhere.

Who's nifty? That's right. John's nifty. John and the Ess Oh Eff.
I?m amazed that you even feel that it?s necessary to point out that you don?t care. Or why you feel you have to. Unless you really don?t care about your friend being hurt either.
But flippant indifference and lack of social aptitude are all the rage! D:

I think what makes OB different from other offshoot forums is that there is, oddly, no forum dedicated to theO and discussing it. This might be something to think about while we're already in the middle of big forum section changes.

Vanguard: Saga of Heroes is out, oh joyous day! I haven't looked forward to a game this much since Hellthrone: Crystal of Eternitia, Ravensword: Prophecies of Dungeon Strife, or Elfthunderhammerstrike: We Promise It's More Fun When You Hit the Level Cap!
I really can't make a good judgement until I've played it, but don't try and tell me I'm not in the ballpark.
All-time favorite? "Red" by King Crimson. It's one of my favorite songs in general, and probably my favorite intro of any song. In fact, it's probably the only time I'd recommend listening to a sample of it on Amazon or somewhere (as long as it's from the intro, not the middle). It'll hook you if you do.

Let's Abolish Profanity in Adventure Square/Reform thread
I propose that another section be added. One that is for Otakupedia, a section that is solely for the history of the boards. It is nicely tucked into the Otaku Lounge at the moment, but combined with the idea that Sandy presented about The OtakuBoards Records, I was thinking that the two threads along with two threads for members to input suggestions would make a good section. I suppose if you created it the current Otakupedia thread and the one for suggestions could simply be moved over to it.
*high five* -

Yeah, I'm wondering why all the pics Des has ever shown of himself before this contest suck so bad, when these are so fantastic. (And if this round's pic weren't so amazing, I'd scold him for not seizing the opportunity to make a Link-themed one.) -
I accept that oppinion, but that's what people should say up-front instead of being snide and disrespectful with meaningless and cruel posts that I can't help but wonder how they aren't against the rules.
Snide? Maybe. Meaningless? Obviously not.
:animeblus Do you think schools should sell candy grams personality I don?t think they should because it would hurt the other person?s feelings who doesn?t get one?
... ... What?
Oh, and another question, does anyone have any ideas of how to get large furniture to a 5th floor apartment?
No easy method. XD If you don't have enough people strong enough to carry it up all the stairs, you'll probably need to find some good helping hands. Really though, most of the stuff you're asking about is stuff that your parents probably know how to work out anyway.
-
Your excatly right because my mom like to fight about how bad I am and my dad disagrees with her. So not only does my mom get mad at me, but so does my dad because he had a fight about me.
I see no response to any suggestions that you should be the one to try change first, and can only assume that you really don't intend to get this problem solved if it inconveniences you in any way. So someone give her the answer she wants and we'll let this end.

Two words: garage sale.
-
Yeah I make mistakes, but doesn?t everyone.
See, that's what convinces me that your mom's probably right, to some degree. As soon as you admit you have problems, you justify them immediately to shift the blame of the situation off you. I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that this is also the justification you've used to your parents when they confronted you about your problems. Now, I'm sure this situation isn't just your fault, and it's quite possibly not even mostly your fault (because your mom sounds like she's got some problems of her own), but I am inclined to suspect that you're making a major contribution. Instead of asking how to deal with your parents, you should start by changing how you act. Otherwise, nothing at all will change for the better.
The popular theory among my family is that he is in fact
Satan himself.[/spoiler']
As you'll recall, we've already
seen Satan in "Bluesklok". Unless that guy was just the "blues devil" and nothing more. But I don't think the writers would want to confuse the theology up that much.
The OtaKuties- Critiques/Betting Thread [E]
In my defense, the only "shopping" that I did was setting the color depth of my picture to two. We were supposed to have a black and white photo, so I literally made mine only black and white. But thanks for the compliments. Much appreciated!
I didn't mean that you actually did too much, just that what you did altered the picture too much. ;) By the way, can we see the original just for shits and giggles? -
The best supporting character on the show is obviously Charles Foster Ofdensen, the band's awesome manager. Though Dr. Rockso probably did hold the title up until the season finale.
And I love the show for the most part. There are some great metal inside jokes and great references to bands (black metal bands in particular, i.e. "Marduk's Putt Putt Extravaganza", or the movie producer by the name of "Mr. Grishnackh").
And Finntroll's, the grocery store. And Burzum's, the fast food place. :D
What sucks about it is that it's being marketed at Hot Topic, meaning the mallcore crowd will pick up on it and... well, you know how that ends up. :animesigh
Good thing the show rules enough that it would take more than that to ruin it.

The OtaKuties- Critiques/Betting Thread [E]
John replied to Dragon Warrior's topic in General Discussion
Behold my mini-critiques of scattered contenstants:

Boo is wearing a gas mask and looking through moose binoculars. That's a compliment.
cancer, like many on here, seriously needs to either get a friend to help out with the photo or invest in a tripod. But I can admire the trait of finding it hard to be cruel.
White apparently took on the tremendous task of actually hand-painting a self-portrait, with almost photorealis--wait, nevermind. Nice try, you phony.
As per usual, Shindisplays no artistic ability but a keen wit. Normally I'd insult him playfully (but bitingly), but this was way too good to not just give him props.
RiflesAtKevin's semi-transparent outline is out of place, but he has a great, intense personality. Gives great body massages, too.
Ezekiel shouldn't have flipped her picture. Thar be distracting backwards text about, kid.
Desbreko's a freaking master.
Darren is either very frightened or very refreshed. Either way, he has a great poker face.
Sinistra's picture never loaded, and I am holding them personally responsible for that. They also related DDR to actual dancing, and not in a negative way. You better get your act together, damn whippersnapper.
Anomaly finally changed her username, and she was spot-on with the Fresh Prince parody. Two gold stars to her. Unfortunately, the white-person-faking-gangsta joke is capable of wreaking havoc if it's not done right. I hope my body can take it.
Mr. Maul has one of the best photos in the contest, but he 'Shopped it to hell. Ultra-high contrast can be great, but I don't think it was very needed here.
Sara's picture is amazing. I long ago stopped expecting any less from her when she creates something. Still, her dead animal photography habits start a war in my head between wanting to love it and being creeped out.
The shadow cast by nezzyjean in her photo makes the person behind her look like some unknown, frightening figure who wasn't actually actually supposed to be in the photo. Call the police, woman.
Veritas's photo also isn't showing up for me. Once again, I put the blame on him. You people need to get your acts together, geez.
Kazuko should've done another Guitar Hero picture.
Roxie's photo rules.
Katana is a talented dramatic pauser.
-
I didn't contact you because, really, I didn't contact anyone at all that I didn't know was innocent. Perhaps I would have, but Tekkaman made all of those contacts anyway which made it unnecessary for me to.
