1. Kaise, I don't think you've made a single post on OB that wasn't somewhere along these lines. We've got nothing to say to help you as long as you continue to refrain from helping yourself.
  2.
Voodookanaka was the gorgeous one, no? If anyone has an archive of one of the older Otaku Pictures Sites you'd know what I mean.
There ya go, sir.
  3.
I defend myself in a very substantial post and people still think that i'm the killer? I hate to say this but all of you who think it's me will die in this game - not by my hand either.
Yeah. When you say things like that, that's where your substantial defense falls apart, homes. And I think you're taking this a little too personally lol. This is the first round, and we all know that we don't have much to go on. But even if you're not the killer--and I'm not saying you are, because simple probability would suggest you're not--then you should still go back through your posts objectively, and you'll see where you seem to have made a mark of yourself.
  4. If you're not one of the killers, Tekkaman, then you're at least making yourself look very suspicious. :P
  5. All good points against Tekkaman. One that occured to me was the degree to which he stretched his argument against MistressRoxie when he said she'd kill a woman just to "show the power" of women. On the contrary, if that were the case, I'm sure Roxie would have killed a man to show their weaknesses. Also, remember not to put too much stock in the "guilty dog barks first" argument. Someone's got to cast the first accusation, after all.
  6. Awesome idea, but it seems to me that the whole thread will get real sloppy real quick if people are making posts just to propose edits to previous posts. On the contrary, what if a public account called Otakupedia was created and people could write the posts in it, while still discussing articles and edits in the same thread in their own username. Otakupedia, I'm sure, would have to be given some special priviliges (such as making sure the password doesn't get changed or deactivating the password completely, if possible, and probably the permission to double-post, since that would just make good sense sometimes), but really nothing major. I think it'd be worth it.

  8. Boo's criticism was hardly trying to "rip you apart". Quit being so jumpy, Sandy. :)

    PlayStation 3

If someone takes a picture of themselves and a group of friends setting up a 360 outside a vendor and having a blast on it right in front of all the campers, I will personally send them a check for thirty thousand dollars.
  10. Why do you think being Mafia would be the best? More chicks. Why do you think being Townspeople would be the best? If you're not given a specific profession like the other three character groups, you can be anything you want. I call dibs on ice cream man. 8D Have you played a version of Mafia before? Yes, but it was somewhat short and un-fleshed out (which means I still don't have a great grip on the game), and not many people got into it, sadly. If so, did you like it? See above. But the concept is great enough.
  11. Further still:
  12.
Most people I know don't even realize it's Thanksgiving until they see a few extra turkies popping up in the grocery store... Why is it even celebrated anyway?
A question I'm not surprised to hear coming from you.
  13. A politically themed forum would be a breeding ground for flame wars and gangups, and the very existence of it would encourage even more drawn-out debates on topics wholly deviant from the original discussion. That would rock. Let's do it.
  14. I'd critique some of the problems with the shapes and proportions you used, but I really can't imagine that hindering the drawing at all, as it's sidewalk art. Seeing that kind of stuff ever so occasionally makes me happy enough that neither the subject nor skill can generally hamper it. As I see it, the point of things like this isn't to be great, it's to be there. To add something to someone's walk, give 'em some color to appreciate for a second. That said, the only thing I would've done if I were you is omit the signature. Anonymity is the vessel that draws the viewing passerby closer to humanity when he sees the drawing, and I doubt anyone will be so lame as to claim it as their own work anyway.
  15.
I don't have wax, nor can i rush out and buy some.
Then just wait until you can, homes.
  16.
What debate do you speak of?[/font']
The one over increasing amounts of health food. The one that didn't exist until he started it, thus putting himself in the minority. lol
  17.
In no way is he a minority! OMG! Walk into a walmart and see how much junk food you see as apose to health food. You'll quickly see that he is indeed in the majority. The only difference from now and the past is a slight loss in the majority and a slight gain in the minority. I guess that's all it takes for some people to start complaining though...
You're right that he's not a minority in the general realm of healthy/unhealthy eating, but he is when it comes to the actual debate over the foods. The rest of us who eat crappy foods are content to do so with the acceptance of some products changing to suit a group of people who want to improve their health. In fact, Hedonismbot is probably the only person I've ever heard seriously complain about this. lol
  18.
It's really, really depressing. I respect that some people don't want to eat food that's bad for you, and it's really annoying that my own personal decisions - that taste > health - is not being respected.
And the world just keeps on a-spinnin'.
  19.
Spam is spam, no matter how it is from. Besides, your reasoning dosen't explain how the N. Korea debate thread turned into a discussion regarding the humane reasons of bombing Hiroshima.
Um, no. No it's not. That's not what this thread is about. There's forum spam and there's automated ad spam. They're completely different, and this thread is about automated ad spam. kthxbai.
  20.
Many have suspected it for years but just recently it was proven. Phar Lap was poisened by the Americans, he was fed arsenic..The question is why? Was it because America couldnt stand the though of an Australian horse winning on their home tracks?
Blast! We've been foiled, gentlemen, after all these years! Looks like our moustache-twirling, track-dominating days are over. If it weren't for you meddling Australians and your stupid horse!
  21. What's with the unusual level of automated phishing/spam threads popping up lately? Have there always been this many and I've just not noticed (or they've been deleted faster)? Or has Des finally sold us out for an advance copy of Twilight Princess?
  22.
October 1-19 2005: 3194 posts October 1-19 2006: 1881 posts
It's not quite fair to measure by the current month, though, since we're only two thirds of the way through it yet. And of course, a lot of the long-term drop in posts is probably due to the raised quality standards.

    Wii
And good luck, White. I'm sure that there will be people with the same idea as you though, camping outside the store well before one hour prior to its opening. Even if you don't get a Wii on launch day, it shouldn't be too difficult to fine one shortly thereafter though.
And if worst comes to worst he can always activate the mall fire alarm and then pop in first in line when the customers are allowed back in. 24.
I don't see what you expect, really. You're holding FFVII up to standards that few games ever actually reach, and you're discounting the fact that FFVII was a lot of people's original RPG and as such they love it anyway. Besides which, newsflash: It's a videogame, not Shakespeare. I don't see how you can honestly expect Shakespearean characters out of any but the most intricate of games (like MGS, as stated). The characters are cliche? Okay. MGS is so much better, OMG? Yes, we get it. All the rhetoric in the world isn't going to make people not love the characters, though, especially when the gameplay was very solid and the plot was pretty interesting (even if it was cliche, it was still memorable). It's okay if you don't like FFVII and it doesn't reach your massive standards man (and really, those standards are gargantuan), but don't expect the world to follow suit because you can break down character motives. :p
He was never attacking the game itself, only the plot and the characters, both of which have become undeservingly popular. If it was the superior gameplay that became so iconic instead of the characters and story (which are much more quantifiable, and at the brass tacks, simply more easy to market), then there never would have been an Advent Children, Dirge of Cerberus, or all the other moneypumps related to the game. But characters are easier for people to engrave into their consciousnesses than something more abstract, like a system of gameplay. And really, most all characters in any modern fiction are distinctly Shakespearian. Shakespearian characters and situations are, almost by definition, very basic categories of most of the things existing in fiction today. Thus, when a writer (unintentionally) creates a basic, model Shakespearian character and fails to go any further with it, their subconscious is just scraping off the top layer of character devices that society has told them are effective in writing, and is therefore an unsuccessful writer.
  25.
Final Fantasy VII was a classic. The characters were cliched? A cliche of who? Note the game was produced in 1997 and there was no way near as many RPG games as there are today. RPG characters are often the cliches of FFVII and other games before them. Do some research into the industry and market a bit more before you make statements like these. It's a cliche by today's standards, but back then, and especially for me (being young and experiencing nothing like it before) it was nothing of a cliche. P.s: I managed to say the word 'cliche' five times... now six. AHA!
Even if Papa Smurf was wrong, and these characters were original for their time, Square Enix can only be held in burning contempt for the horrors that the Vincent Valentine cliché has since perpetrated.
