1. :bdance: Yes, I know, the jokes for this write themselves; I just needed a reason to make Bowser fans mad. :)
  2. Yeah, I was also thinking about thermal sensors when I thought of how this technology would be countered. Frankly, I don't think it'll do too much to change the general state of the world. As technology becomes more available, and criminals get ahold of the cloaking technology, policemen will also be issued cloaking devices, along with heat vision goggles for their everyday patrol routes. Same will go with military, and some day even the public. What I'm getting at is that eventually, we'll all be like this: The future is going to kick ***.

  4. "Dammit, Snake, you're a stealth operative! Stealth!" "Oh, lighten up. You can't tell me it's not interesting to find out you can do that to a bottle of soy sauce."
  5. I liked this chapter the best so far, presumably because the action's really starting to pick up now, I guess. As is the humor, heh. Characters were well done too. Hell, I suppose I just like this one the best overall. :P All the chapters have been enjoyable, but I think you really took all the elements (at least the few I'm apt to notice >>) up a notch here. And although I don't want to seem like a nagger, the one part I can't say I was too keen on was the conversation between you and your mystery man. It seemed kinda... I don't know, I just wasn't nuts over that part. Still my favorite chapter so far, though. ^_^
?Hey, how come you guys get comfortable chairs?? he pouted. ?Did you not just hear me?? ?When?? ?Just now!? ?Yes, you said ?Did you just hear me??? ?NO! The part about stop whining and telling us what you know,? Simplicity dropped her hands to her side.
XD That was a great way to kick it off.
  6. Girl in the background: "But anyway, I guess we'd better be getting back inside, and... um, I'm over here. No, turn around. Just listen to where my voice is coming from. No, ok, you're getting colder... colder..."
  7. "And we put that there, and... damnit! I still can't pick up All My Children!"
  8. Prince of Space was probably my favorite episode, heh. The quotability in it is amazing, as you displayed in your last sentence there. :P Although other fantastic ones are Quest of the Delta Knights ("That's muh pee!") and Space Mutiny ("Did you see my butt?"). As for Joel vs. Mike, I'm more partial to Mike, myself. For whatever reason, he just comes off as a lot wittier, and he interacts with the robots much better than Joel, I think. I never did like Joel's inventions of the week too much, either.
  9. I think there's bigger issues at hand, yeah, but this is definitely one of the biggest. Bigger than sending a new space probe to Pluto, that's for sure, lol.
I was setting a mood talking about the whale. Many people are saying that it has brought to our realisation the fact that we as humans are abusing the seas and not doing enough. Not much to do with the whale, but rather what impact it had on people - how people grew attatched to a creature that otherwise would not have caused them concern. I suppose juxtaposing an anecdote was too much of a mind bender, eh?
Either that, or you suck at doing it. Next time try mentioning some semblance of a connection between a dead whale in a river and the importance of the ocean instead of just assuming anyone who reads it will figure out something so ambiguous themselves and insulting their intelligence when they don't.
  10. Mm. I think I've got this one: Boredom by Buzzcocks. What's so great about it is that it's a full 30 second solo, but it only consists of two notes played over and over again. XD Just to see how awesome it is, click here to download it.
  11. lol. Now that was some humor with skill there. You two didn't just stop with cats and dogs falling violently to the ground like most people would, you made the connection to the supposition that cats always land on their feet as well, and used that to throw in some reaction and some guilt, which is always funny. Gold stars to you.
  12. *slams back the new dose of BB before any withdrawal has time to take its toll* This chapter was nicely laid out, I daresay. I also see what you mean about the more subtle humor. I do appreciate that more than random craziness, despite the merits of both. ^_~
So yeah, I'm doing my best to keep you all on your toes ^_^
It's working. ;_;
  13.
If they're politically competent than yes... it should be like a special-cases-only type of thing, were somone who truely wants to vote and be examined and if they're found to be competent than they can vote. But not widespread, no. [/color']
Problem is that that wouldn't work, because America is way too big to even attempt something like that. Of course, I guess you could always put a quiz, consisting of questions about the topic up for vote, into the voting machines, and make people take it before being allowed to vote. The results are tallied immediately, and if they don't get something like an 85% on it, they're deemed not well informed enough about the issue to cast a vote on it. In fact, that doesn't sound like too bad an idea. ¬¬ But in lieu of that, then no. sixteen and seventeen year olds should never vote, and frankly, we're already pushing it at eighteen. There may be some that are informed and concerned enough to be responsible voters, but not nearly enough to compensate for all the awful ones. They can stick it out for another year or two.
  14. Won't work. Your friend may be willing to let you stay at their house for however many years, but their parents won't. Like Boba Fett said, running away, whether or not it's the right thing to do, is going to rapidly end up failing on you. You're right, the police will find you and take you back to your dad, and things will only be much worse then. Since you say you've already tried getting help from social workers and found none, try getting some proof. Pick up a voice recorder (if you're worried about your dad not letting you get one, give the money to a friend and have them pick it up for you), and keep it with you around your house so you can turn it on next time he starts having ****-fits. I seriously doubt a social worker can ignore you with that kind of evidence. In any case, if you think running away or death is the only option, you seriously haven't thought this through nearly enough.

    O Rly?

  16. *decideds 50 is a good number to come in and comment on* These are all pretty funny, heh. This most recent one is hilarious, though. Non-sequitur humor is love.
  17.
Oh, and for John: Are you refering to the[/i'] Ottawa, or is there some Ottawa I've never heard of. Ottawa, as in the capitol of my beloved Canada, is hardly a 'town', so I was wondering if this was a misunderstanding :animesmil
Yes, Ottawa is also a town in Kansas. I was wondering if someone would get confused about that, lol. I'd love to go to Ottawa, Canada one day though.
  18. Changed again. :bdance: As an initial note, I really wish I could've shown more of this strip (or just that particular panel) in my sig, because it's fantastically done, and seeing the whole thing really adds just a little bit more to the meaning. That said... DNAngel360: 8/10 Not much to say about your avatar. I don't particularly like it a whole lot, but I see nothing wrong with it. I initially liked your banner a lot, but when I read someone's response to it, I saw that they mentioned a face on the right side of it that I had never seen there before, lol. It seems obvious now, but before, I had no clue it was there. And now that I know it's there I really don't like your banner quite as much. ={ It really busies it up just a tad too much. I think it'd be an improvement if you took it out, and filled up the space with more abstract design, if necessary. The picture on the left is definitely enough for the banner, and other than this problem, I likes it a lot. On a side note, Annie, is that image something from Guild Wars? EDIT: Argh, I'm late. >.< Simplicity: 9/10 The hearts in the A in your avatar are very cleverly placed, but I can't say as much for the ones in the S in your banner. They kinda look squeezed in there. The butterfly trails on either side there are cute, but the real kicker here is the "I hate pink" below it. XD Good job and such.

    O Rly?

Yeah, I accidentally left all the frames at zero second duration. Fixded.
  20. Haha, very imaginative. XP I liked how you handled the artwork, especially. I always liked the books without words the best when I was little. Frankly, I think they're more conducive to learning than books where the child is told precisely what's happening. What's that font you used called? I like it a lot.

    O Rly?

ASCII art's great. ^_^ I'm not quite sure how this one came to mind, but I
  22. lol. As with the other two, quite entertaining, and a very clever plug of your own stuff in there. >:P But I gotta say...
?And I?m Humpty Dumpty. Now, Alex, come down here and put me together.?[/b']
Shame for that joke. Just, shame. XP
  23.
?Do you really want to take this job, you jerk? I mean, I?m only reading the fuckin? cue cards!? -Alan shakes his papers at the cue card man, John.
...I feel exceptionally fuzzy inside. :love2: Very entertaining work. Now I'll have to add the original Bikini Bandits to my already huge list of required reading for the Anthology. +_+ *drains his blood onto the floor and hooks this thread up to his veins for life support* Make the chapters come swiftly. My life depends on it.
  24. Were these done over different periods of time? Because they really look like they're all done with different levels of skill (although there's not a bad one in the bunch :P). If so, then the only criticism I can give is that on the first picture, the change between the buzzed and grown-out hair isn't as well done as it could be. That still doesn't detract from the whole thing any, though. Lots of style there, I'm liking it. :smoke:
  25.

Aquabats--Captain Hampton

Ehem, anyway: Pixies: Debaser I'm not really a big Pixies fan, but I'll concede that this is a great song and everyone should hear it. Rob Dougan: Clubbed to Death If you've got ears and you've seen anything about the Matrix, you've heard this song. The whole album (Furious Angels) in general is great, especially the Über Duber Special Edition, which comes in a huge, book-like package with big pictures all through it. Ghoti Hook: Cowboy This is just a fun song, lol. I especially like the whip cracking, heh. (As if anyone knows what I'm talking about, lol.) Muse: Apocalypse Please I can't think of anything to say for this one, really. It's Muse, and Muse is fantastic rock. Since the album (Absolution) revolves around reactions to the end of the world, this song kicks it off very well. Tatu: Not Gonna Get Us I like the damn song, dammit. Pavement: Blue Hawaiian What happens when Pavement and a lounge DJ get in a fight, and Pavement wins. Soul Coughing: Murder of Lawyers It's pretty standard-fare Soul Coughing, but with a lot more sampling and crazy instrument bashing, sort of comparable to Sonic Youth. Del tha Funkee Homosapien: Mistadobalina Del's a great rapper. Go worship him. Audioslave: Cochise Audioslave, while not quite as good as Soundgarden or Rage Against the Machine, is still a worthy successor to both, in my opinion at least. Elements of both bands sneak in there and mix together, along with some interesting new stuff of its own devising. Brian Eno: An Ending Good music, in a weird way. As ambient music is supposed to be like, you can either listen to it in the background of other activities, or actively enjoy it by itself.
