1.
Originally posted by Amity Ahhh!!! You did?? That must have sucked big time!!!! I thought it was so cute! Anyways, where do you guys/girls think this is going? With Tristan being a monkey and the love triangle between him Serenity, and Duke? Also, what happened to Marik? Did they forget about him? Another question, why did they name the saga Enter the Shadow Realm when they're just ina virtule game made up by a snooty brat named Noah? There are so many things I want to as about this!!! It's quite confusing. What is the interpret of this saga? Getting taken over by the Big Five? If you have the answers to my questions, please, feel free to answer them. I need clearification on them.
Relax, Amity. I'm going to try to answer all of your questions to the best of my abilities... -Where's the love triangle going, you mean? Well, personally, I'm rooting for Tristan. ^^ He's had a thing for Serenity even before Duke met her. -Nobody could ever forget Marik. They'll probably have a few "Meanwhile, back on the blimp..." episodes with Yami Marik and Isis (I LOVE her Japanese name; why didn't they keep it????). -"Enter The Shadow Realm" is probably the best title they could come up with for the current story arc. It's definitely not going to be just a few episodes long; it's probably going to go on until early summer of next year, depending on how often they play new episodes. But the bottom line is, they felt that they needed to take a break from the previous story arc just to do this. And here's why... -What is the interpretation of this sage? Simple: the creators of the anime probably thought that the whole Battle City Finals epic is getting a little too scary for kids, what with Yami Marik being so... cooky. But that's most likely why they made this whole saga up, because as far as I know, this story arc with the Big Five was never in the manga. And that also explains why the first few duels had such cutsey characters like Kuriboh and the penguins. It makes perfect sense now, doesn't it? I can't tell ya when we're gonna get back to Battle City, but I can tell you that by the time we get there, this story arc will become just as interesting. At least I hope so... I think we might be getting a little off track in this thread; we really should just stick with the coupling subjects...
2. Kaiser Seahorse, as far as I remember from reading a spoiler, is a Level 4 monster with an ATK and DEF of 1600. It's effect reads (not literally; again, I'm translating this from memory), you may summon a Light-type Monster whose level is 7 or higher by offering only this monster as a Tribute.
3. Cyber Jar Attribute: Dark Type: Rock/Effect Level: 3 ATK: 900 DEF: 900 Flip: Destroys all monsters on the field (including this monster). Bith players then pick up (not draw) 5 cards from the top of their decks, and show the cards to each other. Immediately Special Summon any Level 4 or lower monster among them to the field in either face-up attack or face-down defense position. The rest of the cards picked up are placed in rhe player's hands. On to the next one... Name: Penguin Soldier Level: 2 Attribute: Water Type: Aqua/Effect ATK: ??? DEF: ??? Flip: You can return up to 2 Monster cards from the field to the owner's hands.
4. Shadowfire is right, though I kind of take offense of him/her calling them "stupid" cards. They've actually won me duels several times, so don't knock em till you've tried them. Sorry; go ahead, shadowfire.
5. Her Deck Master was Goddess of The Third Eye She played: -Forgiving Maiden -Lady Panther -Marie the Fallen One -Then she used Goddess's special ability to use a free Polymerization effect to summon St. Joan I believe those are all the cards... Q.) I like that fill in the blank thing; I'm gonna try one too. Monster: Gray Wing Attribute: Wind Level: 3 Sub-Type: Dragon ATK: 1300 DEF: 700 Effect: (?)
6. It's English name is Mystical Repetal (spelling error?), and I believe its Japanese name is very similar to that... uh... I don't know what it is. I know this isn't the full answer, but I had to at LEAST make an effort by breaking the answer in half. Sorry.
7. It will be, when Kaiser Seahorse comes out in English. It might work well in a Light Beatdown deck, and Kaiser Seahorse will make up for the two tribute summon for it.
8. Oh, can we PLEASE get to a new question soon? I know we didn't officially say what Mai and the Labyrinth Brothers' names were yet, but... come on. This is turning into spam.
9. He lost memories of Strings and Arcana; to both of which, he said he never really cared for them (more specifically, he thanks Mai for erasing his memory of Strings). Q.) In Tea's duel again Big Five Member #2 (Crump, I think), what card combo did Crump use to do away with Tea's Mirror Force?
10. I have a friend who uses Masked Beast in his deck because it's one of his favorite cards, but sadly, he has only been able to summon it once, and even then I was able to defeat him. Ritual decks can be fun and casual, but in serious duels, they are hard to pull off. Every duelist that runs a ritual deck MUST use 3 of the following cards: Sonic Bird (gets the ritual magic card in your hand) and Senji of A Thousand Hands* (gets the ritual monster in your hand). [*I might have been mistaken with this card; I apologize if I am.] With those cards to worry about, plus all of the anti-magic running around, not to mention the difficulty of getting at least two monsters on the field whose stars equal 8- believe me, it's harder than it looks, unless you're running a harpy deck- it might seem to be too much work for most people. Now like the previous reviewers said, this guy's only positive factors are that he's Dark, a Fiend, and really strong. If you want to special summon an incredibly big hitter, it'll probably be easier to try running Black Skull Dragon, who's just as powerful but can be summoned by fusing two monsters from your hand, not field. Of course, if you want to run a masked theme deck like Lumous and Umbra, you're welcome to try. Dark/Fiend Deck: 5 out of 10 Beatdown Deck: 4 out of 10 Casual/Fun Deck: 8 out of 10 Overall Rating: 5.5 out of 10- Tough on the field, tougher to summon
11. It increases the ATK of one of his monsters, while every other roll decreases their ATK. I think this is the answer; if so, I'll proceed, and if I'm wrong, skip my question: Q.) Name every card that was used in Bakura's duel against Bones that was used in previous Battle City duels (extra points to whoever names those duels).
12. Black Skull Dragon is a fairly overlooked fusion monster, in my opinion. You can't deny a monster with an ATK of 3200, plus your chances of fusing it now look good- though an extra Red-eyes might not be a bad idea... From what I understand, you can fuse two fusion material monsters from your hand, not just your hand and field; therefore, even if you have no way of summoning Skull or Red-Eyes, all you need is them in your hand plus Polymerization, and you're in. I could be wrong about this, but if I'm not, then go for it.
13. Scapegoat is a good card (and so is Blowback Dragon, but I really can't comment on it as of yet; we'll have to wait and see how they're going to change it- which they better not- when it comes out in english). But back to Scapegoat: Pros: -Quickplay; can save you from an opponent's army of monsters when you have none on the field -Cannon Soldier + 4 Goats = 2500 direct damage (counting the C.S.) -Amazon Archer + 4 Goats = 2400 direct damage -Keeps Unfriendly Amazon on the field for at least 4 turns without another monster's sacrifice -Maha Valio + 4 Goats + United We Stand = Maha Valio at 4050 ATK -One Goat in attack mode + Creature Swap = possible direct damage attack with high-ATK monster Cons: -No tribute summoning means no high-level monsters for at least one turn -Mad Sword Beast, Spear Dragon, and any other trample monster eat these Goats alive -Magic Jammer and Shield-Type 8 eat these guys up too Scapegoat belongs in a deck that can support it. I've tried it many times with Amazon Archer, and the results have been good. However, you can't have too many magic/spell cards unless you don't have enough monsters. My suggestion would be to use it in either a burner deck or a stall deck. Burn Decks: 7 out of 10 Stall Decks: 7 out of 10 Beatdown Decks: 4 out of 10 Overall Rating: 6 out of 10 (Not "Baaaa-d")
14. Gee, thanks for the spoiler! :-P I guess we Americans will have to wait a week or so to be able to answer this question!
15. Okay, thanks for the response, Domon. Now for my official review of this monster... Pros: -2400 ATK -Can suicide Jinzo (and any other 2400 monster) and live -If destroyed, you can return a monster on your field whose return effect might work in your favor (Serpentine Princess, a flipped Immortal of Thunder, uh.... anything else?) -Lord of D. can summon and protect it Cons: -Not searchable -At the most part, it's last effect won't help you out -Hades has first dibs on it -BB and DP get power-ups from it (Can you tell I'm at pojo.com a lot? LOL) Kaiser Glider is cool-looking, indeed. Looks almost like a golden baby Blue-Eyes to me. And nice ATK, too; unfortunately, I don't see it as a staple. It's probably most useful in a Light deck, because when you have Luminous Spark out, 2400 becomes 2900. Now only a Blue-Eyes (and hard-to-summon Ritual/Fusion/Effect monsters) can beat it! In a Light Deck: 8 out of 10 In a Dragon deck: 6.5 out of 10 In a Beatdown deck: 5 out of 10 Overall Rating: 7 out of 10 (high score goes to its ATK and suicide-survival effect)
16. Doesn't that card say you can return one card and return it to its owner's hand? Doesn't that mean you can return an opponent's card to his/her hand too?
17. I think you're right, Tom. Keep the ball rolling.
18. Okay, first of all, you called all your magic/spell and trap card magic cards. There's a difference in how magic/spell and trap cards are played. Second, way too many tribute monsters. And with just 30 cards to play with, your odds of getting any of them out are slim. You seriously need to build a theme here, cause almost none of those monsters go together. What that means is, they all need to compliment each other (type or attribute) so that you can strategize your magic or trap power-ups/backups for them. Sorry, but I'm giving this deck a very low score: 3 out of 10. It's not a bad start for a newbie, but you'd get trampled in a tournament.
19. Well, we need Digital Monster to referee and say which of us is the one with the right answer... either him, or Solo.
20. I have a friend who wants to ask this question, so I'll ask it for him. Let's say one player plays last turn, and my friend draws and summons a Jowgen the Spiritualist to Last turn's effect. If my friend were to pull off Jowgen's effect, would he automatically win? Or does Last Turn only allow the monster with the highest ATK to win?
21. Let's see... I think I did this question before, so I should know the answer. These answers are in no particular order: -He used his own Dark Magician to destroy Yugi's, which was brought back with Monster Reborn -He used Beckon to the Dark, which Yugi countered* -He used another card, which I think was called Mystical Giotene (spelling error?), which Yugi also countered* *I'm almost sure that one of these counters was with De-Spell, which he called Curse Breaker. -Finally, Arcana took Yugi's DM out of play with a card whose name I forget.... So the answer should be three. If I'm wrong, I'll skip the next turn.
22. I wasn't sure about the head's ATK, so if Masterdramon knew it for sure, he should go next.
23. Okay, I think I remember this... First, Yugi stalled the dragon's attacks with Kuriboh + Multiply; the first time he ever used this combo. Then, he used Living Arrow + Polymerization + Mammoth Graveyard, to fuse the mammoth with the dragon, and according to Yugi, the fusion was un-natural, which explained why the dragon began to rot (though I forget how the Living Arrow fit in). Then, eventually, he summoned Celtic Guardian to chop off one of the dragon's heads... And at that time, each of the dragon's heads were at 300- except for the one that got reborn with an ATK of 3000. Now if all of that is correct, I'll continue.
24. I honestly didn't think that Yugi and Tea were originally meant to be a couple. I thought that it was one of those situations where the lead guy and the lead girl were only set up in the English version (like Gundam Wing with Heero and Releena... *shudders*). They seem cute, but I dunno...
25. I'm sorry, but this is going to sound like a rant. I feel that I have to say this, because I'm one of exptremely few collectors/duelists who does not want to go nuts over Dark Crisis (or Magician's Force, for that matter). If I offend or anger anyone in anyway, my humblest apologies. I just want to say, yes; Dark Crisis will change the game indefinitely, just as every set that came beofre it and will come after it will, because that's the whole point. LOB brought us Exodia; Magic Ruler brought us the better fields; Legacy of Darkness brought us Yata; Pharonic Guardian brought us the killer combo of Ring of Destruction and Barrel Behind the Door; Magicians Force is giving us Dark Paladin among several other "must-have" cards. I don't want to dismiss anyone as being greedy, but it's starting to look to me as though some duelists feel that it's mandatory to throw out their old cards for new "better" ones as soon as they come out. (I remember when SomeGuy at pojo.com gave us all his list of cards in his original- yes, ORIGINAL- Dream Clown/Gravity Bind deck, and weeks later, it was everywhere. It made me shudder.) It makes me feel sad, because that's a lot of money that's being wasted, and at such short time too. I miss the days of old when we spent months waiting for Pharoah's Servant to come out, and when it did, we were all about that one set alone. Now sets seem to be coming out of people's ears by the weeks (well, it feels that way anyway), and I can no longer keep track of which cards come from which set anymore. I don't even remember most of the cards that came from Labyrinth of Nightmare. Now don't get me wrong; I've been advised just last night to ditch my Magic Jammer for Shield-Type 8, which really is better (why waste one of my cards when you can waste yours?), and I really want to get Barrel Behind the Door so that I CAN abuse my Ring of Destruction. And yes, when Chaos Emperor Dragon finally comes out, I will go bonkers for it. But my mind is already made up when it comes to what cards to put in my deck, and I hope I'm not the only one. I especially fear all those parents out there who have to pay big bucks for their salivating kids who want every single rare card from EVERY SINGLE SET! They're gonna have a field day when DC comes out, I'm sure... But I'm not accusing all of you as being greedy. I'm just saying, the game may change with new monsters and such, but the "old school" cards are just as good as the new ones. You just have to use them wisely. Change is good... but not everyone must change. There, I'm finished.
