1. Bubonic Vermin does have an effect; when one is destroyed in battle, you may special summon another in either face up attack mode or face down defense mode, and then shuffle your deck.
2. I'll say! But hey, you've got the monster that I was thinking about. But since others have made very good points as well, I'll let the three of you debate on who goes first...
3. For one thing, 7 Tools can only negate and destroy a trap card that an opponent activates, and it works on all traps as far as I know. And as for Red Moon Baby, I believe it keeps the control of the Special Summoned card until it's removed from the field. I dunno about the Jinzo question... The first card off the top of my head that can destroy him at first glance is the quick-play card Offerings to the Doomed.
4. Actually, I was thiking about another card. I thought it was only one whose ATK was changed. You guys are on the right track; in fact, I might give this one to Takuya, cause he/she made a really good point about the way they handled Gate Guardian's stats. Tom, you get my props too. But I was really looking for one of the first cards they used.... I'll give you a hint; it didn't even get a chance to attack.
5. Thanks, Solo. Now, as for my question, another monster's ATK was wrongly dubbed in the anime, and this one was featured in the Paradox Brother's duel. The question is: 1.) What was the monster? and 2.) What was its dubbed ATK, as opposed to its official ATK in the card game?
6. From Pojo's site: PGD-106 Nightmare Wheel ---Ultra Rare Trap Card: Continuous Select 1 monster. As long as this card remains face-up on the field, the selected monster cannot attack or change its battle position except by the effect of a Magic, Trap, or Effect Monster Card. This card inflicts 500 points of Direct Damage to your opponent?s Life Points during each of your Standby Phases. When the selected monster is destroyed or removed from the field, this card is also destroyed.
7. This is a guess, but I think I know it. I believe his ATK was wrong; the official Cannon Soldier is 1200, and they made him 1100 in the Yugi/Rebecca match. [I know for a fact that they made this mistake with another monster; I'm gonna make that my next question if this answer is correct.] I'm not sure what the other mistake was, though...
8. Okay, you probably got that one right. If you don't wanna ask the next question, please let us know!
9. Seto has pretty much been his old self from the beginning- of course, the big change came when his "evil side" was banished to the shadow realm by Yami. But he did seem to be much more noble in the first season than he is now, primarily because he only entered Pegasus's tournament to save Mokuba. Now that Mokuba is free, Seto is now free... to do whatever he wants. A friend of mine is a big fan of his, and I wish I was too; but I hate seeing him as such an arrogant jerk. But my friend and I both feel confident in thinking that he will change for the better soon. I guess all he really needs is a good kick in the pants, and to realize that magic (at least in his world) is real, and so is his past in ancient Egypt. Then, maybe he'll start to change only because he doesn't want to be the old slimeball that he was long ago.
10. If a deck wins a couple duels, then it can't be totally bad. :) That's just my opinion. I just think that most beginners think that they can pull off things that look so simple, like summoning Tribute monsters on the fly, and getting the biggest baddest monster of all (if there is such a thing). I know, I had the same ideas when I got started. And then I found out, the best way to find out if a deck works or not is by testing it in a duel. I love my deck, but I never really settle with a strategy (except maybe the Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon summoning) because I might discover one that'll be better. The reason why I'm saying this, is to reply to the last two decks. Like ssjBrolli said, those decks look pretty good. I've made tips to others, mainly because the cards were all mismatched and scattered, but the again, they might work. Whatever works for a player... just works, period. ....Yeah.
11. Heh... Sorry about that. It's just that my friend always beats me, and that's one of his ways of doing it.... Anyway, on to the question. Whatever monster he destroys, the controller of him gets to choose whether to keep that dead monster in the graveyard or put it back on top of the opponent's deck.
12. The reason why she's been hiding, is because she knows exactly when she's going to duel. Plus I think she's hiding from Marik, to try to save him by his Yami form not knowing about it. As for her dueling disk and all... that's a mystery. Obviously, she's been dueling but no one was supposed to know about it until she showed up at the finals.
13.
Originally posted by MeNaCe no,your opponent cant use elogent egotist on your harpie lady,it has to be his/her harpie lady for it to work
YES! I KNEW IT, I KNEW IT, I KNEW IT!!! [rolls around on the floor evilly] Oooooh, my friend is gonna be sooo sorry he ever did that to me and my harpies! REVENGE IS MINE!!!! [dons a black cape and jumps out the window like some cliche villain]
14. The producers of US edited anime shows sometimes cut episodes like this to make both of them more "exciting." Best example, "Escaflowne." If you ever saw the butchered-to-no-end Saturday morning version of it (which of course, never had an ending cause they pulled it >
15. I have two questions concerning two cards whose text seem very open. 1.) Coffin Seller. It says, "Each time your opponent's monsters are sent to the Graveyard, inflict 300 points of direct damage to your opponent's life points. Now, does that include monster Tributes? 2.) A friend of mine sometimes uses HIS Elegant Egotist on MY Harpy Lady, saying that it allows it to happen because it says, "If there is a Harpy Lady on the field, you may Special Summon one Harpy Lady or one Harpy Lady Sisters from your hand or deck to the field." Now, is he right in doing that?
16. Thanks, DM, that's very generous of you. Okay, here I go. Q.) What were the two magic or trap cards that Arcana used to try to destroy Yugi's Dark Magician, and what cards did Yugi use to save him? (This was before Arcana used another card to put Dark Magician out of play for good.)
17. I have a feeling that this thread is going to be closed very soon, due to the fear of spam, but I'm going to go with an answer for it anyway. I'm going with the Dark Magician Girl, not just because she's a girl and that she's cute, but also because of her effect. I mean, let's face it; Dark Magician is a good fighter, but he's just too hard to get on the field. Sure, some people have pulled it off, but for some reason they'd prefer to use "better" Level 7 Monsters... like, say, the Blue Eyes White Dragon? Enter Dark Magician Girl, a level 5-6 Monster that only needs ONE Tribute, and could possibly be up to 2900 ATK, depending on how many Dark Magicians you have in your deck. Having two Dark Magicians in your deck is enough; DMG will go up to 2600 in no time (especially when you use cards like Card Destruction, Painful Choice, and Cheerful Coffin). Her effect makes her much better than another beast with a similar effect, Harpies Pet Dragon. The Pet Dragon is a level 7 monster that can only be powered up by Harpy Ladies on the field. How long do harpies last on the field? Let me tell you: NOT LONG. The fact that DMG gets powered up by monsters in the grave makes her far more playable than any of her Dark Magician counterparts. So yes, there's me answer. Hope you enjoyed it. :)
18. I doubt it. First of all, if she had been raped, I doubt she'd have the strength and spirit to go on with the tournament. It's just too devastating... Besides, Japanese anime companies usually save their hard core stuff for their movies or adult-oriented shows. Of course, I've seen the Japanese version of "The Vision of Escaflowne," and that was pretty bloody for a series. Still, I'm pretty sure it wasn't meant for kids, like "Yu-Gi-Oh!" is. I have yet to hear reports about nudity, sexual situations, or even bloody violence when it comes to the Japanese version of the show. Then again, I could be totally wrong. Maybe "Yu-Gi-Oh!" really was meant to be seen by young adults. But again I say, I doubt that Mai was raped. Instead, they probably just cut out her duel with Panic.
19. Dark Witch was the answer I've been looking for; I shoulda have been more specific, asking for a "generally used monster." Excellent work, shadowfire! (love the name too!) You go next.
20. Okay, I think I know this... The first was the duel between Yugi and Arcana. The one with Seeker doesn't count 'cause he didn't know he was gonna be banished to the Shadow Realm. Anyway, Arcana had himself and Yugi leg-locked in a ring that had these spinning blades that got closer and closer to them, depending on how many life points each player lost. The loser would be touched by those blades, and thus banished to the shadow realm. The second was the second duel between Yugi and Kaiba, and Lumous and Umbra. At the end of their life point count, the glass floor of a player would break, and they'd go tumbling down a long pit, staight into the shadow realm. The third was between Yami Bakura and Bones and his pals. He secretly brought them to the shadow realm, and only if they could defeat him, they's escape with their lives. They didn't beat him, so they were lost in the shadow realm.... possibly forever. Okay, if I'm right, I'll go with the next question. What is the very first NON-harpy related monster that Mai ever played in the anime?
21. I believe that is the correct answer! You go ahead with the next question. ssjBrolli? For the record, I'm a she. :)
22. Hey, I'm starting to like Odeon (not really sure HOW they spell his name; I might just call him Rishid from now on; that's his Japanese name) too! Ever since I saw him growing up with the grave-keepers, he was just really cute! Not... handsome cute, more like I-wanna-hug-him-like-he's-a-teddy-bear cute. I liked his deck strategy too, it showed just how devoted he is to the ancient Egyptian culture. But I was also thinking that he was going to use a Gravekeeper's deck, cause he really is a grave-keeper. Heh... So, I know what's going to happen to Mai; no surprise there. But I don't know what happens to Rishid; I hope he makes it.
23. It's not a bad start, but I see that it's torn between monster types and attributes. That's the first thing I noticed; a lot of Earth, Water and Wind monsters that don't usually work in the same deck together. Like I said, it's not bad; it just dowsn't leave you enough room for special power-ups that only work for specific kinds of monsters. I also noticed that you have Burning Land. It has a good effect, but... what if your opponent doesn't have a field card to destroy? If I were you, I'd take one of the field cards out there like Rising Air Current or Gaia Power (depending on which attribute you wanna dominate the monster field), and then you can make Burning Land destroy your own field card and let the -500 LP countdown begin. What you also need to do with this strategy is give yourself LP gaining cards like Dian Keato, or something. Another one I noticed was Bad Reaction to Simochi. That's a great trap, but what if your opponent doesn't have a lot of LP gaining cards? Here's the answer to both Burning Land and Bad Reaction to Simochi: Rain of Mercy. Think about this: You activate Burning Land, and Bad Reaction. You and your opponent are starting to lose life points, right? Well, play Rain of Mercy next, and you gain 1000 LP while your opponent LOSES 1000 LP, plus 500 more from Burning Land. Evil, isn't it? Of course, there is a monster you might wanna go with for a strategy like this: Fire Princess. She makes the opponent lose life points every time you gain them. Add the trap card Solemn Wishes in there, and lookout! Anyway, the point I'm trying to make here is, if you're going for a direct attack strategy, I'd add these cards to your deck: Monsters: x3 Fire Princess Magics: x2 Molten Destruction (a power up for Fire Princess and other fire monsters) x3 Rain of Mercy x3 Tremendous Fire x2 Burning Land Traps: x3 Bad Reaction to Simochi x2 Solemn Wishes
24. I know that he possesses the Milennium Key and the Milennium Scales, and he uses the Scales to judge the souls of people by putting a feather on it, and weighs their souls. If they fail, they are immediately banished to the Shadow Realm. The only thing I'm not sure is his real role, but I'm guessing it's not good. Shadi is... shady. lol
25. Yes, it is! Proceed with the next question, my good man! ...Er, woman... Whatever you are. :)
