I for one, don't think much on that subject. But whenever this comes to mind, it makes me wonder very much. I guess that we will never know the point of life until we die, assuming we get to go "some place" else. But it makes me wonder, will everything I did or didn't do worth something? Are we here learn so our soul can take a step further and be complete? I know this may seem very relion based, but I'm not thinking on religion. I just wonder what will happen next. Is a little sad and at the same time ironic to think that once we die, everything else ends.

SPIKE TV! First Network For Men! Have you seen....
Ani_Freak replied to Ryoko T.D.C.'s topic in Noosphere
Yes, I've been seeing this show MXC for like a month now, and it's plain hilarious. I mean, how can this people take so much hurting? And the voice overs are great too, just too funny. Father Laffy Pants, Pen-Dejo(wich is a bad word in spanish), the names go on and on. A very good show. But I guess it's just no fair that they make fun of Japanesse or Chinesse people this way. They are obviously not saying what the translation is, so that's a minus in my point of view. "Remember, Don't get Eliminated!" -
Way too much Gran Turismo...... Well, I love mustangs, and since everyone is jotting down other cars they like, I'll have to say that I'm currently in the process of buying another car. I currently have a 98 Mustang GT modified, and since I will continue modifying it for racing, I'm taking a look at two cars I like very very much. One of them is the Infinity G35 Coupe 6 Speed or the Mazda RX-8. I also took a look at the Infinity FX SUV, but it was a little too expensive in the auto dealer I found it. I guess that, to me, the G35 wins, since I don't want a car to be fast, but to be luxurious and also very comfy. To get a Mazda RX-8 I will have to wait till 2005, since it will come in a turbocharged model with DVD system in it.

Well, I have to say that the most awkward and embarassing experience I've had would be getting to the mall and meting by coincidence a girl that graduated from high school with me. We saw each other at the local mall, and began talking about how things turned out, since we haven't seen each other for like 3 to 4 years now. We finished talking and she closed on me, grabbed my butt and kissed me in the lips. I mean, in front of everybody in the mall. And she wasn't like that with me, never. I'm still trying to figure out why things happen like that...

I guess that people should vote if they see a candidate that fits their expectations on what a good candidate should be or do. It's more of a personal thing for me. Voting for the sake of voting is like not voting at all. You are not getting what you'd like. After all, voting is a right, not an obligation.

Well, the series that I'm interested in following are Onegai Twins, since I think Please! Teacher is one of the best romantic comedies I've seen, and .Hack//No Udewa Tsogare Densetsu, obviously, because I want to end the Project .Hack once and for all. I was also looking forward to seeing Kiddy Grade, but since it will come out to US this February-March, I guess I'll wait.

Well, mine would have to be a '99 Mustang Saleen S351. It's just an awesome car. The thing is that I have a modified mustang, and I saw this car once and it was just plain awesome. I also like the '93 Mustang Cobra. I drove one and I was hooked by the power it had. It didn't had that many mods, but it sure could run. What I like most about these two is the sound they make. i remember when I was little, camaros or mustangs passed by with that roaring sou d and I would run to see them. Now I have one. Pretty cool.

I have to agree with some of you in the fact that NOIR is not a show for the first time anime viewer. I found NOIR to be a fairly decent show, despite the fact that it begins too slow just showing the two girls killing people episode after episode. But then again, that's what the series is about, assasins. I found the animation to be pretty good, most than many anime out there. One thing that kept me watching was the music. I love music, and even though "repetitive", it's still very good music, and it adds up to the series. Think of it, how many times do we hear from episode to episode, the song "B.T." and "Key of the Twilight" from .Hack//SIGN? For a suggestion to a person that has never seen any anime, I would give them Ghost in the Shell, Robotech, Ninja Scroll (movie, no series), Please! Teacher or Real Bout High School, depending on the persons tastes.
Originally posted by maladjusted Interesting thought, but I don't understand how the
killing of Rei I by Ritsuko's mother
really distinguishes itself from the actions by other characters in the anime.
Maybe because it was her lover's..clone-thing? O_o.

Well, I beleive that Ritsuko's mother killed Rei I out of jelousy and anger.
Remember in that episode that Rei was calling her to be an old hag and that she is worthless. And what mostly pissed her off was the fact that it was Gendo who said all those things, Rei I was only repeating them. She realized that Gendo was using her. Another thing is that she looks just like Yui, Shinji's mother, that she just couldn't handle it.

Well, I have to say that my favorite character is Bear. He is very much as I am. I don't tend to talk about the things I don't know until I do a thourough investigation. I also like to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, I like helping people out, and that's it. Another thing is that he is the mature one, the down to earth person that regardless of all the troubles and problems he faces or has faced. He is still very much focused on what he likes to do and have to do. I can very much identify myself with Bear, even though I too feel sometimes like Tsukasa.
Originally posted by Dagger IX1 Interesting indeed. Read or Die's storyline is rather quirky and over-the-top--to say the least--and I'm willing to bet that certain people would be turned off by its relative lack of realism. I personally found the OAV very amusing. Its artwork and engaging characters allowed me to suspend my disbelief and simply enjoy the ride.... humor, drama, bizarre enemies and all. Am I, by any chance, the only person who saw strong shoujo-ai hints between Yomiko Readman and Nancy Makahari (the two main characters)? ~Dagger~
Well, to me, ROD is one of the few OVA's that I found to be just plain perfect. I loved the plot, wich is like one of the most original plots I've seen. Yes, it's very unreal, but that's one of the things that makes this Anime great. From the characters to animation to artwork this OVA is simply amazing. I loved Yomiko, bacause she is your not so average heroine. The animation is just superb. Come on, how about the last showdown a la Empire Strikes Back? Simply great, very detailed. About the little shoujo-ai relation between Yomiko and Mrs. Deep, the way the plot revolves makes you at first think there is something going on between the two. But at the end, I kind of got to see what I expected. It's one of those relationships like the one Kirika and Mirielle of NOIR had.

Well, I guess the dub is very well done. I mean, to hear Monica Rial do Lila, and keep her voice so low is definetly hard work. I just love Monica Rial doing VA's work, she is amazing with voices. I beleive that overall, the dub work in Najica is great. The only problem I had was, as Inuluvr1 stated, trying to hear Lila. I had to hear her on a very high volume and then lower it when the gunshots began. It was a pain, but the show is enjoyable nonetheless. Definetly, hearing the series in Japanese with subs is a must. It ads a whole new twist to the series, since the Japanese voices to me, are funnier. It's the same with Amazing Nurse Nanako, you hear it in English and it's not so great, but in Japanese, it's hilarious.

I guess that they've already done another "season", but in a different type of media. The PS2 games follow the story that .Hack//Sign began. Project .Hack is a very long story, told in different types of media, DVD's animation, OVA, games, manga. I don't see why they should do another .Hack//Sign season, and maybe they wonn't do it anyway, since the whole story has been projected to be in different media types from the beggining.

I'll say that it begins to be much more interesting at around episode 8. I have the DVD's that are available right now and they pretty much have the same from episode to episode.
These first episodes are just cases that the STNJ take. For each episode, a new case.
But things start to pick up at around the episore I just mentioned. What made me take interest in this series is the gothic feel it has and how it looks. I read on a magazine some of the story and kind of wanted to check it out. As far as the series goes, its a pretty descent show, worth following.

No it's not bad or anything MetalSonic700. I don't know how old are you but the show has a 17+ rating so, unless you are over that age, you are supposed to skip it, unless of course, there is an adult with you.
It does have many more panty shots then BurnUp and Aria. I mean, a lot. Ani_Freak, I think it is a pretty good show, but we all have different opinions about it. But I agree saying there are better shows then Najica out there.
Well yes, its a good show. I liked it. The fact that I wasn't impressed with it maybe because what I read, made it a little overrated. I was expecting something else. It has many interesting and funny moments. For me, its definetly a keeper, but it's not a show for everyone.

Well, I mostly buy anime DVD's at DVD EMPIRE and they have a huge selection of anime titles. These stores offer from anime videos, imports, memorabilia, in short, anything that you can think of. Check them out and see what are the best prices at each of them. Robert's Anime Corner Store Anime Nation The Right Stuf Those are the sites I visit most for all my anime needs. They have very good prices too. I hope I could help. If you need anything else, just let me know. oops, yes, sorry, I forgot that advertising isn't allowed. Well, I was just trying to help. Thanks for the reminder AzureWolf!
Originally posted by WW2 Well I've seen the trailer for the series, and it seemed to have more panty shots than Aria and BurnUp combined. Heh, I guess thats the major premise of the show: Super spy, panty shot, action. They've even gone so far as to add a special pair of panties to the Najica Blitz Tactics box set, released by ADV. Thats...um, a bit freaky.:therock: But thats just my opinion.:D
No, don't guess it has more panty shots that the ones you mentioned, it definetly, positively has more panty shots than Aria and Burn Up. I got the boxed set, without knowing of the panties included(which I was thinking to give to my sister) because I read once that it was a good show. I wasn't impressed with it, its a funny show but not even close to be a good one. I beleive the most exciting and funny thing it has it's the Audio commentary with two of the VA's of the show. It's like hearing them talking about the show on acid. The best I could say is that if you're looking for something new, that features the most panty shots out there, get it, but there are definetly more enjoyable shows out there.

Well, as of now, I'm listening to Cyber Slum of the .HACK//SIGN OST 2. I mostly here at work listen to this music. What I love of most instrumental soundtracks is that they keep me calm. Although this one has many songs that are very loud distortion full, I keep calm. If I'm not listening to an anime soundtrack, I'm most definetly listening to any Dream Theather album. I mean, they are just awesome musicians. I play drums, and if you know the band, you know why I like them very much. Hell I even went to a drum clinic the drumer Mike Portnoy held here in Puerto Rico. Big fan I am!

Wow well, I guess that the first kiss I've had was when I was 17(talk about late). It was with my friends sister. We kind of met during a Christian encounter in the school I was at that time. I was in eleventh grade back then. Anyway, I was at his house doing the usual: playing basketball, videogames and such and then we kind of began to talk for some hours. When I was about to leave, she called me to "tell me something" (talk about bold). When I arrived she said to me:"aren't you going to say bye?" AS IF I would never see her again. As dumb as I was, I said, "well, yeah". She leaned over and we kissed. Not a deep throat or anything like that, just a simple, lips to lips kiss. We continued kissing for like 5 minutes, as I recall, and to tell the truth, the two of us fell in love with each other. As of this day, I've never been able to erase that kiss from my mind. It was very simple and soft but at the same time, very passionate. I guess that those types of kisses, for me, are the best ones.

I mean, this is one of the stupidiest things I've heard. I guess this is more of kids messing around and the the whole saying when out of proportion, as the article Q.A. posted. Here in Puerto Rico, there was a rumor between young people that girls who wore(as in wear ok!) a ring in their belly would be a 100% chance they would have sex with anyone. There was another thing that spread out that if someone had a ring on the thumb are homosexuals. This is what people, and mostly kids, say just to try and be funny or to call up the attention.

Thank you very much Qukey. Definetly a great help you have given me. I'll try the begining of all Gundam, I don't like to be lost if I begin from another point in the story. But I will most definetly get Endless Waltz, I liked that movie. The first time i saw it was on Cartoon network and really liked it. Thanks again for all the help PS: I had to print your post, I don't want to loose any name of the series. Thanks again

A 4) OtakuBoards has a friendly atmosphere. B SECTION B Please try to keep your answers relatively short in this section. 5) How often do you visit OtakuBoards? Every day, although I don't post much 6) Do you feel that the rules are too strict/not strict enough/fine as they are? I think they are fine the way they are 7) Should we continue to uncensor the creative writing areas on OtakuBoards? It should be up to the writers responsability to post some type of warning on their posts/threads. Mods, should be aware and vigilant on all posts to be kept friendly and not out of place 8) Would you rather a decentralized forum system on OB (more forums, less activity per forum) or a centralized forum system (less forums, more activity per forum)? Less forums, more activity per forum 9) Would you like to see a closer integration of myOtaku and OtakuBoards? Yes 10) Are you signed up to myOtaku.com? Yes 11) If you are not signed up to myOtaku.com, do you plan to sign up in the near future? N/A-see above 12) Do you read Announcements at OtakuBoards? Yes, that would be nice 16) When we offer a next generation version of OtakuBoards, should we continue to provide semi-regular community events in our Event Arena or a similar forum? Absolutely. They are to my knoledge one thing that would keep existing and new members to keep coming to OB 17) If you could add one new Category (Category, not Forum) to OtakuBoards, what would it be? N/A 18) If you could remove one Category from OtakuBoards, what would it be? N/A 19) If you could add anything to OtakuBoards (in terms of a new forum, a technical tool/feature, etc), what would it be? To be able to edit or change the title of a new thread one make. It's for me frustrating to see a gramatical error or another type of error on a title and not be able to correct it. But then again, constant changings of the title of a thread could turn out to be annoying 20) On a scale of 1-10 (1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest), how would you rate your experience at OtakuBoards since you registered? 10. A very good and warm experience

Well, I've been interested for some time to see more of the Gundam series. The thing is that, there are many Gundam series out there, and frankly, I don't know where to begin. What sparked my interest in the series was that I saw just a few minutes of Gundam Wing-Endless Waltz and I liked it. I would like to know any suggestions on what MSG serie should I begin with. If this thread is to be closed, please, PM me with any information and suggestions. Ani_Freak
Originally posted by Queen Asuka ...I figure it's one of those series that only guys would enjoy since it tends to offer alot of fanservice.
Well, you are actually right. It doe offer some fan servise(I mean, not as much as Hand Maid May, which is a very nice OVA) but the thing that I like the most are the fighting scenes. I have not seen the manga, but I was looking forward on buying the anime, since I read some reviews that said that it was very good on the fighting aspect. I bought the Boxed set of the series and I was very impressed. The artwork is very good, very pretty drawings and nice character designs. The fighting sequenses are well made, and detailed. What had me a little dissappointed was the story but overall its a very good anime. Fanservice? Yes, I have to admit I like fanservice in anime. I don't like Hentai though, but series that are ecchi are quite good. It adds that funny and real aspect of male characters. Ani_Freak

Well, I bought my XBOX last year, so I beleive it has one of the drive models. Is there any way I could change the drive or do any modification to it to solve the problem? or should I trade in my XBOX for a newer model? I really like KOTOR, and its a little annoying that the game keeps freezing everytime. In fact, one day I played and my character didn't even had a head. I played headless for like 4 hours, even though the game loads when you exit a level and enter another one. Thanks again for the help. If the thread happens to be closed, PM me with any help. To Mod: If you feel this topic should be closed, please do so. I understand this does not generate too much disscussion.
