Ironicaly, Rodney was in a corner. Joey came around and thumped him on the head. "If you fall asleep without me, you'll regret it for the rest of your life." "Yeah, yeah..." he stood up and found his hat. When he came back into the first room, he saw Jiea laying there, aparently exhausted. "Hey... you're the one got us up." Rodney said without needing to point out what he was talking about. Jiea looked over and sighed. "We've gotta do something about these murders..." Rodney couldn't help but laugh at that. "What do you expect us to do? Go find him and kill him in his sleep? The police can't even..." "Stuff it Rod." "Ok, OK..." Rodney rearanged his hat and straightened his shirt. "How do I look?" He said. Jiea tried to hold in laughter, "Ambiguous." "Oh, ha-ha..." Chy then came back in with Rone.

Jerid didn't notice the growing cloud until it seemed it was too late. He continued to dodge around Yuki, figuring the twins were still worn out. Then he backed up and saw the cloud about him, popping with static. He loked back at Kristen and Kayin. Oooooh, crap... was all that went through his head. On instinct he jumped as high as he could (a rather formidable distance) and grabbed the top branch of the nearest tree. The intense static was already running along the trunk, and he was forced to jump to another. Everything was going completely wrong. How could he let himself be defeated by these..... rebels? He had no alternative... he fled. But before doing so, he unleashed a final burst of flame, gathering and condensing all the oxygen around him and throwing it at the trio as hard as he could. That shoul give them a few good-bye scars.

Ah yes, a vry good book, if not slightly childish in some ways. Oh by the way, you might want to increase your post size before the mods come after you (they can be scary when they're ticked). Right... I picked up Artemis Fowl in... 5 grade I think, witch was quite a long time ago, so I don't remember too many details on the first one. The second one was still good, and though the third one was pushing it, it was still entertaining... it had lost a certain level of suspense though. Whoe knew that fairies were so advanced? lol

Didn't see another thread for this one, so why not? Right, who else absolutely loves this manga? I picked up volume one in Borders one day, and instantly loved it. Not only does it have lots of awesome fight scenes, great humor, and the occasion plot-shock, but being about a bunch of high-school kids, it deal with some of our own problems! (well... I'll be in high-school next year, so technicaly they aren't my problems yet...) The characters are developed incredibly well, and nothing ever seems to come out the way you expect it to! Now I have volumes two and three as well! They're so awesome ^.^

OOC: seder...? IC: Rodney burst into the room a little while later, thuroughly startling (not to mention annoying) Hunter. "How ya feelin?" Regaining reason, he replied, "Better than I was..." Rodney sat down in a chair near the bed. "Not too chatty aye?" Hunter didn't reply that time, "Well I've got good news. Kris is fine, she's already up and around. The only reason she's not here with you is because the nurses won't let her out with knowing why she passed out. Heh, think they'll believe it?" Hunter just stared at the cieling, obviously lost in thought. Rodney put his face right up to Hunter's, "Knock knock." Hunter snapped into the current again and looked at Rodney strangely. "Hey Rod... back at the school... that spell... how...?" "Hey man, don't look at me, it just happened!" Hunter was referring to the flames that had somehow coem forth from Rodney's hands. Seeing Hunter drift into thought again, Rodney descided it would be best to leave him be.

The world of a kid can be pretty hectic. We all know that. We've all been there, or perhaps we're still a kid, hmmm? In any case, many, many stories could be made of a child's life and imagination, if only we had the mind to make them. And so the saga of a child's life begins... but when? At age five? No... much too baby-ish. At nine? Hmm... how about eleven? Yes, eleven is perfect. A child changes at eleven. They experience feeling that younger kids do not... we still have these feeling with us, do we not? So we begin at age eleven... at an elementary school not to far from where you might live. The name? Ah yes... Horizon Elementary School. You, my friend, are eleven, in the fourth grade. You should be going through puberty just now, and your life takes many exciting, stragne turnes from here on out. No longer a childish baby like the third graders, but not yet a young adult like the fifth graders. So we begin. If you haven't figured it out already (in witch case you probably shouldn't be in the Adventure Forum), this RP is about a childs life... but not ordinary children. Well, they are ordinary, but perhaps their world is different. Anyway, this shall be revealed soon... in the meantime, if you decide to sign-up, you are eleven years old, and in the fourth grade. You attend Horizon Elementary, and may have friends there. However, at this point in your life, your body is changing, witch means new feeling you may not be used to. It occured to me that this is the perfect time in a kid's life to base a story on, due to these new and unfamiliar feelings. So, here's the sign-up... Name: an average name *age will not be included... you are 11* Gender: male or female Nationality: cocasian, african-american, asain, etc. Personality: what are you like? you may want to include how your character feels and/or reacts to his/her changing body. Appearance: pics are excepted, but a small sentence or two should be included anyway. remember, pics must be of children! Bio: what has your life been like up until now? Weaponry: that's right... this is what makes this world different from ours. However, I don't mean real weapons... you can use anything from a yo-yo to chewing gum, but each 'toy' has an alternate use as... self-defense? OK, here's mine! (hope you're still interested at this point!) Name: Aaron Deresin Gender: male Nationality: cocasain-asain (his father is asain) Personality: Generaly happy and playful like most children, but more of a thinker than most of his classmates. He has slight ADD, witch means he get's distracted easily... especialy during class. Not very athletic, and sometime hard to tear away from his book. As for puberty, he's still very shy and unsure of what to do... up until now, he's never viewed a girl as he does now. Appearance: 5'0'' and rather scrawny, even for an eleven year old. Aaron has bright blue eyes, messy brown hair, and a small nose. He wears jeans, a dark blue shirt, and a blue cap that say 'Alaska' across the rim (he usualy wears this back-wards). Bio: Aaron moved to Horizon Elementary's town only two years ago, and is still struggling to make friends. His mom is often not home, and he spend a lot of time with his father, who teaches him Chinese sometime. He isn't very popular among the other kids, but manages to earn some respect during reccess. He constantly wonders why he's feeling so... friendly towards girls all of the sudden. 'Weaponry': A pocket full of 'Atomic Fire-balls', witch can be thrown or spit out as little, well, explosives. A frisbee... use is obvious. Go get 'em guys!

D-Warrior's flash-back idea is good, or you could always just do a few short pages on his past, then get back to the main story. It would be like seeing him as a child, then as an adult... or almost an adult (however old he is). As for witch plot, they both sound tempting... however, it would be very interesting to see the main character on the run because of his father's robots. Or you could compromise and have him doscover his fahter's death, and get blamed for killing him or something like that... it's your decision ~_^

"Seems even the dragon couldn't handle you." Kristen was now beginning to awaken, suddenly alert at the sound of Jerid's voice. "Wake up, oh mighty lightning warrior... we've got unfinished business." Jerid said mockingly to the sleeping Kayin. Withing ten seconds, both Kristen and Kayin were on their feet, and Yuki looked just a bit worried. "Look, we don't want to fight you again... just go back to where you came from!" Kayin nearly yelled at Jerid. "Sorry, I've got a promise to keep." Without another word, Jerid ignited a ring of fire around himself, burning away oxygen. Though a little surprised, Yuki got a sly look on her face. She had the water element... surely she could take care of this guy? Kayin and Kristen took a fighting stance, static electricity building around them. Jerid threw the first wave of fire. All three hopped out of the way, and Jerid took the chance to jump into a tree, leaping back and forth. His goal was to confuse his prey, but the three of them combine was going to be a bit of a challenge. Kristen and Kayin looked at each other, thinking they could form another storm cloud... but they were both too drained for such an attempt. It was up to Yuki to douse the flames. As Jerid hoped down and spread a wave of fire in all of their direction, Yuki unleashed a burst of water. It hit the flames, and had an affect for a moment, but more oxygen ignited, and the inferno continued as if nothing had happened.

OK, can't resist this... has anyone else seen the news lately? There's aparently some kind of theory that a child watching too much TV causes ADD... my answer? BULL-SH**! They're just trying to find another excuse to diagnose kids with ADD, I swear it... who else has an opinion?

OOC: fun time ^.^ [in my head-- :naughty: ] IC: Rodney sat up sleepily. "Ugh... is it time to face reality already?" "Afriad so." Jiae said, proceeding to find another pillow to chuck at anybody still asleep. It being early, Rodney hadn't realized she had just kissed him. "I need some air..." he said, and walked out into the street. It was hardly light, and last night's parties were still dying down, drunks and people high on methenphetamines still roaming the streets. He looked around bleary, doing his best to take in a piece of the polutant-heavy air. Rodney felt someone grip his shoulder, and turned to see some random guy leaning on him. "Hey babe... wanna.." He never had time to finish, as Rodney said, "I'M A GUY, DAMN IT!!!" Already sick of it, he walked back inside, just intime to see Jiae hit right on target with another pillow.

The rest watched as Hunter took the unconcious Kris up to the desk at the hospital. A worried look crossed all of their faces, but none more so than Hunter. The lady at the desk looked up and gasped, hurrying to call a cart down for the unconcious girl. Rodney thought it was actualy rather romantic, seeing them like that... even if Kris was unconcious. Lost in thought, he leaned over to Clesia, who was standing next to him, and rested his head on her shoulder. A little surprised, she looked over to him, seeing a distant look on his face. In his head, Rodney was thinking about all the past years. He had been the class clown, and all around crazy person for almost his entire school life... but had never gotten a chance in between the insanity to be romantic... now something in his soul longed for that.

RPG Numb, Theives Trail [this may get a little bloody ^^]
Muad'Dib replied to ArunueShekamari's topic in Theater
OOC: I think your mouse is in a danger zone... IC: Poe, who had been flying some ways above the group, came swooping down, landing on Kitcho's shoulder. Kitcho mumbled a little greeting to the raven and kept walking. Unfortunately for Mitzo's mouse, it was still on Kitcho's head. Poe noticed the mouse and looked at it a little strangely. Not to mention a little hungrily. It wasn't often a raven got a chance like this. Poe's head drifted closer and closer to the mouse... WHAM Mitzo smacked Poe off of Kitcho's shoulder, sending him squawking into the air. Mitzo quickly gathered up her mouse and held the frightened rodent in her hands. -
RPG Numb, Theives Trail [this may get a little bloody ^^]

OOC: hey... that's MY job! lol IC: "Hey! Wake up kid!" Kay kicked Kitcho lightly. Kitcho sat up sleepily. He was used to not getting much sleep, but this was rediculous. "Where we goin'?" Everyone rolled their eyes. "You're pretty stupid when you're not awake, you know that?" Shotoken said, walking ahead of the group. Kitcho just mumbled. "C'mon you... let's go!" Mitzo jumped onto Kitcho's back, nearly causing him to fall over. "Do you have to be up there?" He said sleepily. Mitzo thought a moment... "Yes." -
Ah hell... might as well... hey, that rhymed... Name: Itsure "Shadow" Gender: male Age: 23 Type: Outcast Weapon: Naginata (much like a halberd) Description: 6'1'' with black hair, blue eyes, and a nimble, but by no means weak, build. His eyes are determined and often dark. He wears a grey shirt underneath a black, tunic-like shirt, and slightly baggy, dark colored pants. He is sometimes barefoot, and wears padded boots when he's not. Element: Shadow (duh...) Personality: Perhaps not a very strong 'sense of purpose', but he is very determined. Itsure is often critical of others, though he may not show it. He is good at fitting in, but stands out rather baddly when he acts like himself, wich is a suspicous, critical, slightly paranoid, amd silent outcast. Bio: Itsure hails from the far East, and was never very comfortable around others. Though he had nearly mastered the art of naginata-jutsu, westerners didn't accept him as who he was. Despite constant criticism, witch he gave back with a vengeance, Itsure did his best to fit in. It worked... for a while. As the society began to change under the new high-preists, it seemed there wasn't much room for someone like himself. He became an outcast of society, and hated it. But that didn't stop him from having a little... fun. He had always been good with tactics, so Itsure attacked random people who crossed any road he happened to be traveling, witch was often quite a few people. This leads to how he earned his nick-name as 'Shadow'. The rest, as they say, is history.

OOC: OK, me confused, so I'll just jump in then... IC: Isaac heard a gunshot, quickly followed by a scream... a mental scream? It must be them... the ones he had smelled earlier. He turned toward John and Kayin, and they both nodded. The three headed towards the sound, Isaac ahead of the others, resembling a wolf in his stride. It wasn't long until they reached the source... right outside the library. The three boys looked around, taking in the scene. Two girls and a boy stood at one end, one with an outstretched hand, a path of burns and smoke going all the way to what might be a corpse. At the library entrance, three more girls were standing, a look of surprise on their faces. "What the hell just happened?" Isaac said in his scratchy voice, still bent low to the ground, as if expecting someone to pounce.

That may be an example of someone who was diagnosed with ADD but doesn't actualy have, hence her reaction to the medication. Or maybe it was just some weird side-effect... you may never know ^__^

OOC: this is reminding me of Real Bout Highschool, but without the fighting... IC: "Aye! What's up guys?" Jacob called from the bottom of the bleachers. Skye and Kiruna look down and wave. He makes his way up to them and sits down, watching the school football team practice. "Anything new today guys?" "We're gonna go see the new movie.. wanna come?" Kiruna asked him. "Heck ya!" Jacob replied, still watching the team pummell each other. Today had gone pretty good for him... and his mom was in a good mood, wich increased his chances of being able to go. Skye leaned over to him, putting an arm on his shoulder. He blushed a little and ran a hand through his messy hair.

Very nice! It's got that determined look Yusuke always has. One thing though... I'm oretty sure Yusuke has green eyes! Not that it matters, but I remember seeing the cover of the Yu-Yu-Hakusho manga, and he had greenish-blue eyes... oh well!

They stood several yards away from the library entrance, each one of the group tense with a mix of fear and excitement. Foot by foot, the three neared the door. They could see some kind of suppressed glow underneath the door, as if someone had lit a fireplace already filled with ashes. Being the closest to the door, Clesia shoved it open slowly, peeking inside. She gasped and pulled back. Maria and Rodney didn't need words to tell that Hunter was in there... probably in a very bad state. Rodney put up three fingers, taking the mdown one by one, mouthing three... two... one. On one, all three burst through the door. It was a gruesome sight. Hunter could be seen near the center of the library, a small circle of faded figures around him. Immediatly, the ghosts looked in the direction of the intruders. Two of the spirits started towards them, a woman and a man with a large axe. Something told Rodney to defend himself, even thoug hhe didn't know how. He stuck out his hand, and the book Clesia had found began to glow slightly, lifting a few inches away from her hand. The two spirits were now only a few feet away, and from nowhere, flames burst out, causing the ghosts to reel in shock and float back a several paces. Rodney looked at his hand, even more surprised than the ghosts. Was this the power of the spells?

Oh hell... I'll join too! Name: Aaron Clydeki Age: 21 Gender: male Emblem: Friendship--- An outstretched hand of indescernable color, the greatest sign of friendship. Special Attack: He can amplify the power of any close friend by touching them. If they're a very close friend, he can do it from a distance. Weapon: A bow and arrows are his main weapon. A long dagger is secondary. Appearance: 6'0'' and a strong, if not slightly femenine build. He has jet black hair, and bright blue eyes. To be honest, he looks a bit like a girl. Especialy at a quick glance. But that can't be helped... he wears a dark brown shirt that goes down to the tops of his legs, a light green vest over that, baggy, earth-tone pants, and padded boots. Personality: Generaly happy and light-hearted, but he is sometimes very aloof, with that 'I don't care' attitude. He enjoys seeing other people happy, though he keeps that to himself. Bio: For msot of his life, Aaron had to put up with being mistaken for a girl, but he didn't mind too much... most of the time. Among other children, he usualy fit in perfectly, and was recognized for an uncanny ability to mend friendships between others. His parents were often away in other places, so he stayed with his aunt mostly. He had no problem finding girlfriends, and he acredits this to his feminine look... not that it makes him happy. His attitude towards others was usualy 'if you want me, come get me, if you need help, just call, if you want trouble, leave me alone'. A simple philosophy, but it served him well. He enjoyed the company of others, but there were some people he couldn't stand, namely abusive and/or hateful people, and the guys who mistake him for a girl. Through the years, he grew accustomed to other people's reactions, and became a little more aloof. His aunt saw this as some kind of sign, and thought it would be best for him to get out a little more. When Aaron was seventeen (17) his aunt took him on a boat headed out to sea for trading. He fell in love with the water and started looking for as many opportunities for sailing as possible. When he was 21, he boarded a boat headed through one of the swifter rivers. The boat accidently hit shallow water, rocking it back and forth while scraping the underside. Aaron fell over the side, and though the water was shallower, the current was still swift, and he drowned. He has been dead for nearly five years now. Until now...

They all looked at each other nervously. "She aint... dead, is she?" Rodney looked a little pale. "No! She just passed out..." Paul checked for a pulse just to be sure. "Ummm... to the art room then..." Joey turned and headed for the school. They all followed. Paul had to carry Kris over his shoulder and hope that no one noticed them on the street. It wasn't too far, and it seemed strangely silent... there should be teachers and staff members everywhere. But there wasn't. They stepped into the hall cautiosly, on guard for anything suspicious. The art room was practicaly on the other side of the school. This wasn't exactly a comforting thought. Somehow, the group made it there without incedinte, but they could swear there were people around corners, or in the shadows of empty rooms. Now the door to the art room stood in front of them. It's very presence gave off waves of... evil. Or something of the sort.
-
OOC: Si amigo! That's about all I know... my mom taught me one phrase, but I forgot what it was... oh, and por-favor IC: "Damnit, Paul, what's she saying?" Rodney said almost quietly, not wanting Kris to hear, though she probably would anyway. Paul only shushed him and said something in spanish to Kris. Rodney just kind of stood there, with no clue what he should do, while Joey paced franticaly, and Clesia got an extremely worried look. Paul began to talk to Kris again, wich translated into, "Calm down Kris! Tell me what happened!" Kris calmed down a bit, but only barely. "The spirits... they..." Kris could hardly suppress her sobs, "they took him away... they..." Kris collapsed into tears. "Rrrgh... this is hopeless!" Joey half-yelled. "We can't help unless she tells us something useful!" Paul looked up at her sternly. "She probably doesn't know anything useful. We'll have to go on what she does know." Rodney still stood there, but a dawning realization came to him... "The school." "What?" "Where else would they take him? That's where these spirits are from, right?!" Rodney resisted spinning around.
-
That night, Rodney called everyone, most of them a little ticked at first. However, after hearing what had happened, they softened up and agreed to go. Fortunately, Rodney's mom wasn't home, and his dad was a very heavy sleeper. The next day was a bit uneventful compared to the past few days. Then it was finally time to meet everyone. On his way, Rodney watched some kids play ball across the street. As one of them fell down, he paused a moment from instinct... and a heavy branch from a nearby tree fell with a loud 'whump' right in front of him. If he had taken another step... it would have been lights out. Almost everyone was already there... except for Hunter and Kris. Kris arrived scared and out of breath. "They... they got Hunter!"

Heh, knew this discussion might get good... Right, anyway... I guess it's true that a lot of people use things like ADD/ADHD and similar disorders as a cover up for simply hyper and/or bad childeren. Well, not that you can truly call a kid 'bad', but that's another discussion... But that's not always the case. Well, obviously... anyway... a friend of mine has ADHD, meaning he's very hyper most of the time, and you can TELL. I think he takes pills for it, but he's still pretty crazy most of the time. Not a trouble maker, just.... happy. Ironicaly, he was one of my first friends in a new school a few years ago... OK, I'm throwing the discussion off a little, so I'll go ahead and stop talking... I mean typing.

"Somethin' up with Kris...?" Rodney asked Hunter. Hunter got a worried look, talking into the reciever. "Kris... Kris, you there?" He put the phone down. "Crap!" Without another word, Hunter grabed a jacket and headed for the door. "Yo, wait up!" Rod ran after him. But just as they got out the door, Kris ran in, thouroghly scared out of her wits. Hunter ran over to her, putting an arm around her. "Kris, what happened?"
