The harsh smell of sterilizing agents attacked Trenton's nose as he walked out into the corridor. He paused briefly before continuing down the corridor to his left. It didn't take the sergeant long to find the room he was looking for. Trenton paused in doubt before rapping on the steel door of room twenty-six. Unlike most of the Solaris' personnel Tanya was entitled to a private room in the event that she become injured. This was one of the many perks of being an officer that Trenton had experienced too many times himself. The door slid quickly into the wall beside Trenton, he peered tentavily into the room. Tanya opened her eyes slowly as she realised that she had company. 'Hey.' She croaked groggily. 'How ya' doin'?' Trenton asked gently and continued into the room. Tanya sat up a little, the affects of the medication beginning to wear off. 'Well I feel like shit and I think my arm might be broken.' She paused and looked down at the machine attached to her arm. 'So pretty normal I guess.' 'All in a days work.' Trenton chuckled. 'Have they told you how long its goin' ta' take to fix that one?' Trenton continued with mild concern. 'Naw, but I reckon it'll be around three hours.' Zero replied to Trenton, talking from experience. The small robot continued to work at the slender woman's arm, deciding the best way to deal with the damage. 'This one's not bad, you can at least recognise it as my arm this time.' Zero motioned with her free arm. 'We've finally been assigned to another special op.' Trenton studied the look on Tanya's face as he spoke, trying to read her emotions. 'Its a recon to a teraform facility not far from here, nothing special but the others are looking forward to it......' -

OOC: I just realised that I refered to Caspian as a planet in one of my earlier posts. Sorry Warlock, I didn't realise that you meant a ship when you introduced it. Most of this post probally should have been in the recruitment forum but I hadn't thought of it then... --------------------------------------------- Trenton was standing at a desk on the Medical Deck of the Solaris. His briefing with Commander Briggs had finished some time ago and he, like his team had a couple of hours to kill before they were due to depart on the mission. When he had learned that Tanya, call sign Zero, had been injured in the skirmish Trenton decided to go see how she was doing. So here he was standing at one of many reception desks scattered around the deck, waiting for a young woman to tell him the room number. Like Trenton, Zero had been left on the Navy's door step so to speak. With less than a year between them Tanya and James quickly grew quiet close. Going through training as soon as they could the pair made an unbeatable team. Their paths seperated for many months when Tanya specialized as a pilot and James moved into Special Ops, although they kept in contact their relationship grew more distant. When both Zero and Trenton were assigned to the Solaris on active duty, however, their friendship was rekindled and is stronger now then ever before. 'Room twenty-six, level ten of this deck sir.' The young red head turned to Trenton as she looked up from her terminal. 'Thank you ma'am.' Trenton continued down the corridor beside the desk and hailed one of the elevators at the end... '....Lieutenant Jackson is to report to level fifteen of the Officer's Deck immediatly.' 'Mr Reilly's presence is requested on level twelve of the Docking Deck.' 'Flight Commander Welsh is required on the Navigation level of the Bridge.....' The heavily filtered voice of the ships onboard computer echoed through the corridors of the Solaris, pausing occasionally in wait of a fresh list of announcements. -

The lift hummed softly, gently placing a weight on it's occupant's shoulders. Trenton watched the numbers roll past on the panel above the door, still ignoring the chatter of his unit. The pressure on their bodies stopped suddenly and the doors slid open. Trenton walked quickly through onto the officers deck, continuing all the way to the end of the ajoining corridor this time. He walked swiftly through a door at the end, his team following close behind... 'Nice of you to join us on time for once sergeant.' commander Briggs sneered as the team of seven came into the briefing room and quietly took their seats. 'As you know we have some important issues to discuss...' The commander continued into his briefing while the highly trained specialists sat around the table, a tech of some form or another occasionaly jumping up and detailing some device or another, Trenton sighed, at least something was happening.... -

'Don't you think it's odd that they are so close to the core sectors?, I mean its kinda' weird that there has been no word of them before now.' Ghost raised the question as the small group walked along. 'Yeah they must have come through the outskirts to get here.? Jet continued. Trenton ignored the banter as he lead the team down the corridor, stopping halfway inbetween the hangars and the mess hall to wait for an elevator. It was then that he spotted the freelancer walking casually behind them, apparently making his way back to the hangars, and realized all to suddenly that his team of specialists might just have given away important secrets. None of them were any wiser, continuing to argue as they waited for the lift car. Trenton started to reach out to stop the man but hesitated. What could they have possibly given away that was so important anyway? Besides the freelancer was probally going to end up tagged onto the end of his team and find it all out in the end. The out of place freelancer continued down the corridor, apparently unaware ofr the sergeant or his team. Trenton hefted his assualt rifle to the other shoulder and pressed the call button on impatiently, his mind pondering what might lay ahead? -

Trenton found the rest of his team lounging in the mess hall on the docking level of the Solaris. He decided to grab a plate of food and join them before they had to going to the briefing. ?I got good news people.? Trenton slid his tray along the table and sat down next to Ghost, she turned to look at him. ?And whats that sir, another week of patrol?? The sarcasim was heavy in her voice. ?No, I have just been informed by Commander Welsh,? Trenton paused as a civialian walked into the mess hall, he scanned him briefly then continued ?that we have received word of alien forces in the area.? ??Bout time something happened I don?t think I could take much more of this, we haven?t been out on a real mission in weeks.? Tallin, the units newest recruit, piped up. Ignoring him the Sergeant looked dismally at his food. ?I hate being out here for this long, the rations they give us are foul.? He looked around the room, the only people in the massive hall besides his unit were four pilots and the civilian. Following his gaze Ghost leaned closer to her officer. ?You think they?re going to give us another tag along?? she said softly. ?Probally. Its cheaper than scouting the area ourselves?? Trenton stopped and looked down at his watch. ?We had better get going, we?ll be shot if we?re late again.? He joked. The seven comrades stood up and began to move towards the door. ?Yeah well as long as this one can fight, I?m sick of filling in paperwork on how another idiot was roasted by a Bassilain or shot up by the Trynians...? Ghost continued as they walked out of the hall?. -

OOC: Do you want me to do the navy's actions? I can, but only if everyone doesn't mind. I mean like the ones on Planet New York that are of any significance. ----------------------------------------- The chaotic skirmish of ships was starting to slow down by the time the U-shaped ship glided into the Solaris?s docking bays. Trenton was pulling the pirate captain over to the door even before the landing gear had been engaged. There were several teams already waiting to escort the prisoner to his cell. Trenton groaned as he walked down the ships ramp, fed up with what he considered to be pointless missions. 'The Solaris is now awaiting civilian persons. All personnel are to remain armed and cautious.' another announcement echoed down the corridors of the cruiser as Trenton walked back to his locker in the block A change rooms. They were doing it again, using civilians to as bounty hunters, offering much needed funds as a reward for a job the specialist teams could easily do. Trenton shook his head in thought as he walked. ?Special Operations Team Sergeant James Trenton is to report to the officer block immediately, you will be given further instructions upon arrival.? Great what now? The officers? deck could only be described as clean and regimental. It consisted of fourteen corridors, each containing twelve offices for a total of 168, a mess hall and the usual toiletry facilities found on every deck. Linking the fourteen corridors were another 2 passages running across the others, they provided access to the rest of the ship. One wall of one of these passages was clear, looking out over the docking cavity. Trenton barely noticed that a large segment of hull had slid over the all too familiar view beside him as he walked down this corridor, it was standard practice to lock down the ships view ports four several hours after a battle. He turned down one of the corridors and paused briefly before rapping his knuckles on the door. ?I was requested sir.? Trenton walked purposefully into the room, after being invited, and greeted Flight Commander Welsh. ?Good afternoon sergeant.? The commander looked up from his paperwork, seemingly unaware of the skirmish outside. ?We both have a lot to do so I?ll be brief.? He paused, choosing his words carefully before he continued. ?As you know we have been sent here to?remove?the pirate presence from this sector.? ?Yes, I know this commander but it is not the responsibility of my team or myself?? Welsh cut off Trenton. ?That is why you are here sergeant.? Welsh said shortly. ?This morning we received a transmission from scout team Delta that confirms the presence of hostile alien forces not far from here,? He paused with a smirk, ?that I think is one of your responsibilities sergeant. ?Yes sir, sorry sir.? Trenton apologized, even though they both knew he didn?t really mean it. ?A briefing is being prepared as we speak, you and your team will be briefed in half an hour from now. That?ll be all sergeant.? The commander dismissed Trenton and returned to his paper work. About time, Trenton thought as he walked back down the corridor towards the elevators, he knew that the rest of the team would be just as relieved as him to get off this ship and do something more meaningful then flight duty?. The small dusty orb known as Caspian hung weightlessly in the void below the Solaris. Walking briskly, in the hopes of not being stopped by any officers, Trenton passed numerous groups of techs, navigators and pilots on his way to the mess hall. Unlike him they were constantly busy catering to the massive ships needs, their jobs were constant and never varied, always the same. The hall was half full when the sergeant arrived, most of the infantry had just been woken up and were having their first meal before they began training. Trenton collected his meal and joined the rest of his team at a long, steel bench savoring every bite... *** 'I'd like to be able to finish my meal at least once this week.' Hammer complained as he clambered into his fighter. 'Stop ya' bithchen' and get ready, we're going to need some cover.' Tanya replied lightly to her commrad. Trenton listened idly to the chatter over the comms as he reloaded, checked then rechecked his weapons. Now decked in a full tactical combat suit he was responsible for the capture of the captain of the approaching pirate ships. Deciding to focus, the sergeant switched his comm back to a closed frequency checked the atmoshpere seals on his suit. He quickly scanned his team as he felt the small transport lift off and manoveure its way out of the docking bay. Kyle, a new recruit, sat cooly on the bench opposite his officer. Trenton knew that Kyle probally wan't going die, he looked too nervous to carry out a capture, despite his facade. The U-shaped transport glided swiftly through the pandemonium around it, fighters were scrambling frantically out of the Solaris to meet the on comming wave of scrappy ships sent by the pirates. Intense flashes of light left searing lines across the vision of those stupid enough to look as they exploded out of the cruiser's weapon batteries into the larger ships of the rag tag force. The U-shaped ship continues to cork-screw towards the largest ship in the small armada, a large cargo vessel that had been modified and turned into a make shift gun platform, a perfect place for any commander to run his attack from. The scream of metal tearing through the flesh of the platform filled Treton's ears as the pilot of his small U-shaped transport rammed the enemy's vessel. Designed as a ramming craft the two forward prongs of the U-ship were made of near solid metal, the weak hull of the modified pirate gun platform had no chance of standing up against them. A door located in the middle of the U-ship slid quickly back into the walls around it and Trenton, followed closely by his team boarded the crippled ship, a fresh atmosphere being pushed through behind them. The small seven man team moved quickly and professionaly through the rag-tag ship, compact assault rifles tearing apart all those who refused to surrender. They now stood outside the twin doors of the ships command room, Trenton's objective was just inside... Debris was blown every where when the explosive went off, there was nothing left of the pathetic ship that once lead the raiding party. Trenton and his team were saftly aboard the U-ship as it docked in the Solaris' massive gut, the objective lay still on the floor as what was left of his force was chased down and destroyed.... -
OOC: I'm kinda' bored by it myself, so lets wrap it up... --------------------- Kaelin couldn't stop to see if Elle was alright, or even if the pole had actually hit her, before he was forced to dodge a kick from one of the pixies. Side stepping to get around the kick he tried to slow himself down, tripping forwards and landing on the ground... Kaelin's face was barely an inch off the ground as he swung his body through the air. Supporting his weight on his arms he managed to land a kick to the side of a pixie's head, unfortunatly he over balanced and landed heavily in the dirt, rolling over just in time to see another pixie looming over him... Softly the clouds opened up, letting their delicate contents spill out upon the earth below. Gliding softly through the air thousands of small silvery droplets crashed into the Gloobly village, slowly increasing in intensity until the small group of friends were completly drenched, along with the rest of the small town. Kaelin closed his eyes waiting for the pixies to hit him, he could feel the earth around him soften as it mixed with rain and fruit juice. SMACK! Kaelin opened his eyes to see Flare landing on his feet, the pixie lying in the mud. Suddenly smirking at Flare Kaelin rolled his legs back over his head and tumbled to his feet. Quickly scanning for the other two pixies as he did....

Name: Special Operations Sergeant James Trenton Call Sign: JT Faction: Navy Special Operations Forces Age: 21 Appearance: JT keeps his sandy brown hair cut at a little over an inch, he has stern blue eyes and high predominant cheek bones. JT wears gloves with his tactical suit but wears a casual outfit when he is not on mission. Bio: Given over to the United Earths Navy as a young child by his parents; they were forced to give him up; Trenton was trained as a close combat recruit, specializing in the boarding of hostile craft. At the age of 12 he was moved to active duty where he quickly impressed his superiors and was recommended for special ops. training at 15. After acing the training courses Treton was moved into active duty where he served for 5 years before attaining the rank of sergeant. Trenton is currently serving on the Solaris, a large cruiser in the navy, but is expecting to be reassigned soon after witnessing several...unauthorized...actions from the commanding officer. Ship Name: Solaris Weapons: I'll leave this blank for now and let everyone determine them when we come across the ship during play. Appearance: As massive oval shaped vessel, the Solaris is unable to land. Rather all repair work and retrofitting that needs to be done to the craft are performed in orbit, usually on one of the large space stations surrounding Mars (or what ever it is now). The only feature noticable from a distance is a large D-shaped chunk missing from the hull, the walls of this hole are surrounded with openings to the Solaris' main docking bays. The bridge of the ship aslo looks out into this. -------------------------- PM me if there is a problem with any of that.... SKEDY -
The bright orange sphere hurtled through the air straight at one of the pixies, unfortunatly Flare; dodging out of the path of a knife blade; dived right in front of the melon. SMACK! covered in purple juice, with a soft hum and dull throbbing sensation in his ear Flare hardly had time to scowl at Elle quickly before throwing a punch towards the pixie.... Trying not to laugh at the sureal scene below him Kaelin lobbed the last couple of melons into the crowd; unsure what they hit; his friends or pixies; he flew back down to the near empty street and grabbed a long wooden pole laying on the ground beside a half built stall. Never landing on the ground Kaelin flipped in the air and pushed off of the the wall with his legs, like a swimmer racing from the edge of a pool, he flew back into the ever shifting group of people. SMACK! Kaelin had lined the pole up with two of te pixie's heads, they both went flying forward and landed heavily on the ground. Unable to move the pole so it would miss Flare and Finny Kaelin threw into high into the air instead, it flew straight into Elle's face. 'Oops!'....
-
Kaelin scrambled along the ground trying to get away from the group of Pixies. Fortunately they were all busy yelling and jeering at Flare and Finny to notice him. Making it out of the swirling mass of bodies Kaelin ran for a nearby stall and grabbed an armful of fruit before flying above the fight. "Well, it worked last time..." Kaelin muttered to himself uncertainly. He grabbed one of the fruits from his arm, a bright orange melon the size of his fist, it was soft and juicy to feel, and pelted it towards the nearest pixie. SLAP! The fruit exploded around the side of the pixie's head, covering it in pink ooze. "Oi!" The pixie turned to looked at Kaelin, forgetting Finny was only a couple of feet away, and waved his knife furiously...

OOC: Um... I was trying to avoid finishing the combat myself guys, so I'll give it another day or two then finish it I guess. Need to keep it moving... Oh! and this whole thing with Roxanne needs to be cleared up, Geist can you please let us know what is happening. ____________________
-
OOC: Hey thanks for telling me about that short post thing, and please point out anything else that I do wrong. Oh and don't be scared to tell me if my posts are too corny... ------------------- "Jeez, its just melon juice. I didn't even mean to hit them, I was aiming for that group of travellers." Kaelin explained to Flare, pointing to the mounted group disappearing into the town, the pair continued towards the pixies, looking as intimidating as they could. The pixies jeered and threaten them. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to hit you, I was aiming for those travellers and...." Kaelin stopped short as the chain flew past him, narrowly missing his head. "Okay have it your way then." Kaelin flipped up into the air, with the help of his wings, and landed on the otherside of the knife weilding pixie. With a lightinig fast kick he knocked the weapon out of the creatures hand, it landed several feet away. Now he hesitated, as the realization of what he had just done set in. "Hey, I..." Yet again Kaelin was cut short as he slammed into the ground. The chain weilding pixie had wrapped the chain around Kaelin's leg and pulled it out from under him. "Help!" Kaelin called to Flare from the ground, holding his leg.
-
OOC: Oh, sorry. I'll make my posts longer, but I hate the idea of using other peoples characters..... ----------------------------------------- Grey storm clounds clung to the horizon as the small group of friends played around in the village of Gloobly. The air was heavy and moist, a soft breeze was beginning to weave its way through the stalls of merchants. "I'm bored lets do something fun?" Kaelin winned to Finny. "Your back scratcher gizmo is cool and all but hardly my idea of a good time." He turned from Finny to the rest of the group, only to recieve several blank expressions. "I heard there was some interesting junk in the ruins by the lake, we could..." Kaelin trailed off and began staring as another group of travellers came riding up the road. There were about a dozen humanoids dressed in rough cloaks and travel gear riding through the stalls of merchants, they were making their way to the taverns on the other side of town. Most of them had their faces covered with tattered pieces of cloth. No doubt they were looking for a place to settle in and enjoy the festival. "How funny do they look?" Kaelin pointed out the travellers then began mocking them to his friends, luckly none of them saw him. "Hey watch this." He darted over to a nearby stall and paid for several large, purple melons. Kaelin then flew around the corner of a nearby building and out of sight....
-
Kaelin paused to swing his arm in the air as Kari flew up to the group. "Hey-ho!" He then proceeded to attempt a back flip, only to fail again. "Hey, its a back scratcher!" he continued from the ground. "No it's an ExtendOr, reach things that you can't reach before. You attatch it to your arm and it acts like an extendable hand doing the same movement you hand does." explained Finny as he put it on his arm. "Does it work or should I run for cover?" Kaelin teased Finny playfully as he flew up to the nearby ledge of a building in a mock run, giggling all the way.
-
As the small group of friends moved down the street, Kaelin began darting back and forth between stalls set up by merchants, ready for the festival. Trying to fly backwards while lying down, Kaelin plows heavily into the ground several feet in front of his friends. "I'm okay, I'm okay." Kaelin pulls himself up and trys not to let the red show in his face. "Soooo where are we going any way?" He says, obviously just trying to change the subject.
-
Here goes.... ____________________________________________________ Kaelin had spent his morning springing around Gloobly delivering letters to its residents. The mail load was especially large today, with the festival nearby and all, but Kaelin had finally wittled the pile down to the last letter. He paused to check the name on it: Merle, Finton. *** Thud. Kaelin landed in the soft dirt of the street not far behind Finny. "Hey-ho!, Guess what I got." He calls down the street to his friend....
-
This is the first time I've done this so cut me some slack if I screw it up. ______________________ Name: Kaelin Runnalls Age: 14 Gender: Male Description: Brown coppery hair, blue eyes, not so pointy ears (but still pointy), well tanned skin with see-through and black wings. Kaelin wears a loose, tan colored tunic and a pair of baggy black breeches, he always carried a small leather bag of oddities with him. Background: Kaelin is well known by the citizens of Goobly, well known and generally disliked. As a child he spent most of his time running around town relocating people's possesions, jumping out of shadows and generally freaking other Gooblians out, unfortunatly he still does. Kaelin didn't make many friends growing up and holds the few he has close. When he's not running around town on errands for the postal service (let me know if this is a problem, I can change it.) he is bouncing around Gloobly rooftops looking for fresh people to fool. Quiet often Kaelin is the first person travellers see comming into Gloobly because unlike the Glooblians they don't know about Kaelin's antics, yet.... [Hope that's okay]
