I saw an AMV for this at the meeting of my local Miso Anime Club last night, and it got me interested in it. I'm thinking about giving it a whirl, but I hear that the ending is rather abrupt and this makes me hesitant. Maybe I'm just suffering a Blue Gender hangover(the ending to Blue Gender was crap). Has anyone here seen this? If so, what are your thoughts on it and did you think the ending was abrupt?

Main characters: Yuri, Fee, Hachimaki Just got volume 1 in the mail today. I thought it was well-done, though I have a couple of minor gripes. The first is a plot point involving Yuri I thought was resolved too quickly. But they went back and touched on it again later. The second had to do with the artwork. For the first part of the manga, Yuri's hair is dark and Hachimaki's hair is light. Halfway through, they switch. The manga has interesting storylines. At one point a group of outer-space terroists makes an appearance. Maybe they'll be featured in other volumes. There were also some good comedic moments. All in all, Planetes is a good read. A word of warning, though: Don't get between Fee and her cigs!

I just finished watching episode 26 on AS, and it was very confusing. I got lost right about the time Yuji stepped into the beam of light. I heard him say something about being reborn in a better place, but what exactly happened? And what was up with those guys blowing second earth to heck? Can somebody explain that to me, please? Thanks. I've got some more news on the new episodes, I've been surfing the net and found out they might be a hoax. The schedule at Adult Swim's website doesn't show any new eps. Please do not double post. Just go back and edit your original. Thank you. *QA*

If you haven't already seen it, watch Trigun. It's got a bit of everything, action, comedy, drama, rolled into one. It has the ability to go from funny to dramatic and back in an instant, and I consider that one of its greatest strenghts. If you're looking for light-hearted adventures, watch the first few episodes. If you want dark, serious, drama, watch the last few episodes.

I got the information here: http://www.tvtome.com/tvtome/servlet/ShowMainServlet/showid-4605/

Trigun's my fave out of those. It is a great anime-it does indeed have it all, one minute it's serious, then it's funny, then it's serious again. I consider the fact it is able to switch between extremes so easily one of its greatest strengths. Blue Gender is second. Out of the animes listed it and Trigun are the only ones I've seen and really liked. I really enjoy the concept behind it. I thought episode 7 was pretty weak, but it's the only episode I've seen that I didn't like. I actually could have won a DVD Box Set of the Series a while back, Anime News Network had a contest where they were giving away 5 box sets of the series. You had to write a poem, essay, etc. about what it would be like to go into hibernation and wake up in the future. I'm pretty good at writing, I could have had a shot at winning that. But I found out about the contest the day after it ended.

If you're talking about Episode 26, that's not the end. 12 new episodes begin airing on Nov. 3. As for my opinion on the series, I enjoy it. I saw most of it during its first run and am now watching it again. The early episodes really impressed me, except for episode 7, which IMO, was a bit of a letdown. I know Dice was out there to destroy that Blue to avenge his loved one he couldn't protect, but they didn't really go into it. Who was it?, etc...

My little brother enjoys YuYu Hakusho and Rurouni Kenshin. He also watched Gundam Wing and Dragonball Z, but my dad made him stop watching Z. I think my older brother is into Cowboy Bebop, but after that I don't know. My parents don't really understand what's going on, my mom has turned down repeated invitations to watch Trigun with me. She and my dad do have to endure my rantings about Trigun, they listen, but don't really care. They did get me the Trigun box set for my birthday though, so it's cool.

Anime's had an influence on me as well. I kind of try to model myself after Vash a bit, I think, seeing as how he's my fave character from my fave seriers. He's also the result I get most often when I take a Trigun personality quiz. Also, if it weren't for anime, I'd have nowhere to be on Wednesday nights. Now, I do have a place to be: my university's asian film/anime club. I'm also considering learning some Japanese because of anime.

Trigun is simply my fave anime. Got the DVD box set. Please try to elaborate more on your posts. -Shy Edit: Okay, people say that Trigun has it all, and simply put it does. It has the potential to go from funny to dramatic, and vice-versa, in an instant, and I consider that one of its greatest strenghs. Some people may scoff and say its unoriginal, but I ask them, where else have you seen a 131-year old genetically engineered plant/human hybrid? Hmmm? And sure, there may be lots of things that seem out-of-place on a desert planet, but that's the beauty of it, you don't realize it until you stop and think about it.(at least that was the case for me) So have I elaborated enough? I do have a question, though. I've heard that episode 18 takes place two years after episode 16. But nowhere in the anime have I heard this confirmed. When is this mentioned? Thanks!

Anime Somebody's suing Cartoon Network (FLCL related)
VashRocks replied to Senor Ding Dong's topic in Otaku Central
Does it actually say anywhere in there she plans to sue CN? Yes, I read the article. -
For any Blue Gender fans here, I learned yesterday from www.tvtome.com that there are more episodes to Blue Gender than the 26 adultswim.com has listed in its episode guide and were released on DVD. I hope these are included in the box set. Edit: I just checked TVtome and learned the reason these episodes are not listed at adult swim is because they haven't aired yet. They start airing Nov. 3.

I loved Ronin Warriors back in the day, but I didn't really get into anime until I started watching Trigun.

There's one here at my college. We're currently watching Ping-Pong Club.
