A short time ago (a couple of days ago), I caved in and bought a DS lite. I must say that I am very impressed with the design and the sleek graphics. I think that the touch screen is a great idea and I do want to get more games. At the store, I bought the new DS and the New Super Mario game. I am pleased with both a lot, although I was thinking I should get a new one soon. In a couple of weeks, my family and I are voyaging a 9 hour plane ride to hawaii. Yes, I know that I am a lucky bastard, but that is besides the point. I am looking for a game that is fun, uses the touch screen, and is long or has a lot of replayability. I am just asking for your advice on this. My sanity and cure for painstaking boredom is in your hands. thanks

Hmm, what do I get out of metal (or at least what I consider is metal, anyway)...well, it kind of depends on when I am listening to it. I listen to all kinds of music (exception of rap and country), so I listen to some soft rock, hard rock, etc. The only few times that I listen to really powerful metal it when I am at the gym working out, or am running the lovely (sarcasm) five and a half mile run around my neighborhood. I guess that the metal and the fast pace guitar riffs fuel my adrenaline(?) and more or less motivate me to keep going. I guess... I never really thought about it. Hopes this helps

I listen to a lot of metal, and I know a lot of people who hate metal due to the "Constant Screaming" or "Inhumanity". I believe that this is not the case at all. True, there are some bands that scream a lot (As I Lay Dying, Bleeding Through, etc.) but a lot of bands that dont really scream that much (Disturbed, Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie, The Union Underground). I believe that the main reason why a lot of people associate screaming with either hostility or lack of talent is that they truly dont understand what is going on with either the lyrics or the feelings behind the song. If they sang some "screemo" songs but instead made it more like fallout boy, it would seem so out of place, it would be unbelievable. If you ask me, I love metal due to one reason besides kick *** guitar solo's...it is human emotion in its rawest form.

Derald's banner is insanely cool and almost frightening. Kudos -
Darkness, sweet sweet darkness. I love the feeling of snuggling up to a pillow when you know that you don?t have to be up for several hours. Just to have a basic idea of how much time I have left to snooze, I gaze lazily over to the alarm clock. Its red letters strike fear into my heart. 5:40 AM. I blink for a few seconds, thinking that this might be a mirage. No, even after wiping my eyes a few times with my blanket doesn?t help. I am going to be moving in five minutes. Even though my efforts are fruitless, I try to make the best of it. Five minutes...I could fall asleep in five minutes. I hate Mondays. No, sadly, I don?t get a wink of satisfaction before the Satan noise of my alarm goes off. It is the stereotypical "bat out of hell" noise. Kind of like a "BREE!" mixed with a foghorn. I hate it, but better than my sisters old Minnie Mouse alarm clock. I really hated that thing. I slowly get up and fling my still active alarm clock against my closet door. The noise stops on impact, which satisfies me. Then I let out a string of profanity that would make "Little John" cringe. It was time to seize the day. Today was going to be a bad day. I knew it from the very beginning. I put on my lucky Irish boxers on. They have little clovers on it and the words "good luck!" printed on it. Even the boxers know that they're lucky. Then I put on a plain white muscle shirt and some jeans. Today is going to be interesting. I go downstairs and find that my sister, Lauren, has her nose buried in some book. It is "Running With Scissors". I have not read that, but would like to. I pour myself a bowl of honey-nut cheerios. I hate that stuff, but for some unknown reason, I keep eating it. I get in my car and wait for my sister to get in. We have a red Honda civic. It is my baby and I would kill for it. We then drive out to get my sister's boyfriend, Jamie. Jamie is a cool guy with really red hair, but isn?t Irish. This disappointed me at first, but then I realized that he is pretty cool, regardless to his heritage. Apparently, Jamie and Lauren are in a fight, for they aren't talking. This makes me uncomfortable, so I put in some metal. "Disturbed" would be good right now. Of course, I have to make all of the noises that the lead singer would make right in their faces, due to the fact that I?m evil. Anyone who has ever listened to Disturbed knows the noises I am talking about. We get to my school and find a decent parking lot. I put my CD player on immediately and put in "Iron Maiden". I was going into school head banging, looking like a retard, but it was nothing new. My school is called Richland... RICHland. So almost everyone had an iPod or some expensive cell phone that has video recording, picture taking, message sending, game playing, unlimited talking capabilities. I look down at my cell phone that has a cool background...that?s about it. Also, something weird about my school. It is in Pennsylvania, so it is about 99.98% white. I am white also, and I have nothing against other people, but its kind of creepy that we are all the same color. Hitler would be proud. First period is Theater. My favorite class. The only problem is that it is right early in the morning. Regardless of my sleep problems, I am still directing a piece for the "Spring Showcase" that is in two weeks. The showcase is where an actor picks a book or poem, turns it into a play, casts it out of other actors in the classes, works props and lights, and shows his work to an audience. A lot of work. I am doing Anthony Burgesses' masterpieces, A Clockwork Orange, and that is a hassle trying to censor everything...very tricky. Second period, Biology. I am in the class with the scum of the earth. I don?t know exactly how I got in this class, nor do I care. I just hate all of the children in my class, they are all evil children of a motherless whore. My hate for them is so great, it cant be put into physical words, just a series of grunts and hand gestures. The class itself is easy, but its the people that makes it a living hell. Then comes band, luckily, we had a study hall today. My day was spent talking to friends about anything from the French to Hinduism. I also listened to my CD player and slept on those uncomfortable folding chairs. Gym, my favorite period of the day. Filled with barbaric rituals and throwing volley balls at little geeks. Ahh, memories. Today, however, we are playing Frisbee? What the ****?. Frisbee is not supposed to be in Gym! I make the best of it and try to do matrix moves without too much success. I guess bullet time isn?t meant for "ULTIMATE FRISBEE". Anyway, this isn?t important. What happened in the Locker room was the most exciting thing of the day. For some reason, I am prone to fighting. It is not a daily thing, more of a "once every two weeks" thing. And today was one of those days. Apparently, some kid got me confused with someone else and decided that I stole his girlfriend or something weird. I don?t associate with Freshmen, so I kind of shrugged him off. Now, I?m not going to say who threw the first punch, but I threw the last...lets just end it there. Then comes world cultures, the class with not one, not two, but three ex-girlfriends, who all hate me, because I broke up with them. It never ends well, I learned. The day was full of strange glances, bookwork, and me laughing at stupid people when they ask dumb questions. My favorite was when one blonde (not being mean) said that "The Nazi party was a Dutch group....right?" I don?t think I need to say anything. Then comes lunch. Today was taco day, which makes me happy. My circle of friends are treating me like an outcast for some reason. This confuses me, for I am a usually nice guy. I have my mean streaks, but I can be OK usually. However, they are treating me like a leper. After some yelling and painful interrogation, I find out they were just being jack***es. I punch one kid in the arm. English, a good class with good people. Mainly Alex, who is my best friend in Pittsburgh. He broke his leg, so I have to make fun of him and steal his crutches. We are reading Caesar in English, so I try to understand what is going on when other people try to act, but fail miserably. I laugh at their misfortune and lack of friends. Then comes Art, a class that I realized was a waste the first time I went in there. I am not saying art itself is a waste, I just didn?t realize how bad I was until there were other people there. Ashamed, I hide myself in the back. I assumed the nickname "Gollum" due to my uncanny resemblance to him and our love for raw fish. Math, the last period of the day. It was a Good News/Bad News class. GOOD NEWS!: substitute, the teacher wench is gone, everyone celebrate! BAD NEWS!: I have a 67% in that class. I stare at the note, maybe it is a mistake, but no...67, wow. As soon as the final bell rang, the entire class sprung out to the door like a stampede of wild animals. I was at the very front, and I was beating my challengers for my alpha male slot back as I race to my locker, grab my stuff, whip out my cell phone, and call my sister to tell her to get her *** in the car. I peal out and we are the first ones out. VICTORY. I pull into the garage and I see him in the garden doing who knows what. I trudge up to my room like a man going to death row, take off my backpack, and sit down. I just sit in my chair for about five minutes, staring off into space and wondering what has just happened. I go downstairs and toil away over a hot textbook and I can feel my mind decaying with useless knowledge about vectors. I decide that I?m going to go for a run. My favorite run is to run Emmett road, which is about 7 miles down the road, where there is a health club I am a member of, then I run back. This is no pansy run. This is like a biblical trek across the Sahara. The only thing strange about this run was that there was another runner following me the entire time. It was a middle aged man in a professional running uniform. I run faster, so does he. I slow down, so does he. I sprint the rest of the way. After some exercise I begin the trek back, and there is no creepy stalker this time, although there is something else kind of strange. There is a hill right next to my house, and there were a bunch of bikes on the side of the grass going down. I look down while running and I see a kid down there. I slow down to see what he is doing, and he CLIMBS INTO A HOLE. I have no idea what this hole is all about, though I?ll check it out later. So here I am, sitting still in my running clothes, and I?m dying to take a shower. I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it. ~Matt

Hi everybody. If you may not have noticed, but I have no avitar because it "Cant be found for some reason", I was wondering if you guess could help me get a new image. I recently bought the game Black. It is a first person shooter with a heck of a lot of guns and explosions. It is about a group of the government, "Black Ops", which basically takes down terrorists by any means possible. The cover of the box is a bunch of bullets and shells littering the floor. All different types, from AK-47 to Magnum bullets. I was wondering if anyone could help me out with this difficult order. I would like the banner to be black, with the words "BLACK" on the bottom right-hand side. I would like it to be the same way as it is on the cover with the bullet hole in the "B", but if that is too difficult, I understand. Also, I would like the words: "All Guns Blazing" on the majority of the banner. With the Avitar, I would be content with it being a simple black avitar with a few bullet holes filled into it. Thank you for all of the help ~Viper

About 5 monthes ago, I founded a band with a group of guys from work. I teach lessons at a Guitars Plus. I am the youngest one by five years, but I dont think they mind much. We have two Guitarists (me being lead) and I do some backup "singing" (screaming in my case). We have been to the Battle of the Bands of my school. It took some careful persuading to get them to be in it. Next friday, we are going to play from 6-11 at the hardrock cafe. I am terrified. I still dont know how we got to get there. Name: Access Ramp Genre(s): Metal, Nu Metal, Hard Rock, Twang, Grunt Metal, Irish punk Location: Pittsburgh, PA Influences: Disturbed, System of a Down, Slipknot (not so much), Rob Zombie, As I Lay Dying, and more

When the movie House of 1000 Corpses came out (HO1KC), I saw it in the theaters, and I was disgusted. I thought that it was sick, twisted, and had no plot whatsoever besides basic gore. I am usually a fan of gore, but this was almost too twisted to be possible. Then I started listening to his music very recently. I started off with the CD The Sinister Urge , I loved his style of music, very industrial with a hint of metal. Then I bought Hellbilly Delux and American made music to strip by. I realized then that his movies were, more or less, just a homage to all of the old "campy" horror movies. Sort of like an even more disturbed Tarantino. Then I saw HO1KC again, and I actually liked it a lot more the second time I saw it. I dont know if it was because I was used to all of the cliche's in his music, or if it was that I didnt think of him as a madman, but more as a genius? Then I saw the devils Rejects, and liked it even more than HO1KC. It wasnt scary, it was more like a revenge tale in the Old West. Sounds stupid I know. I was just wondering what your opinions are on Rob Zombie? Does he have issues or is he ahead of his time?

In my opinion, I feel that it depends almost entirely on the game itself. I dont really see much art in games such as Halo, Grand Theft Auto, Black, etc. Now, even though those are amazing games, I still dont regard them as something that should be considered art. True, it might look amazing to see the hookers corpse in lifelike resolution on the pavement while you are beating her with a police baton, but it isnt really artful. Or to see the bullet holes in a covenant's skull. True, these are cool, but not artful. However, there are some games that just look like a masterpeice. My two personal "artful games" are Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. Also, I dont think that it is just the visuals that make those games like art, but it is the rich storyline and "fairytail-esque" atmosphere. Other games that are artful to me are the Max Payne series (suprised?) and the Metal Gear series. They both have an incredible presentation and atmosphere to it. The story and characters are amazing and some of the enviroments look like they should be in an art catologue. Now, maybe I just think that the atmosphere is what makes a game artful, but maybe its the storyline? I dont know. Just my opinion Best of luck to you ~Viper~

Hard game...very hard. I am working on it on Double Hurricane Pack 2, at least I think its called that. Anyway, my tip on that is: 1) Keep moving...nothing quite like being pounced on and thrown around the room 2) use the Vagoorian (sp?) flails to take care or the "dung" beatles a.k.a. Pill bugs. using combos and charge-up techniques should help. Also, stay on the walls. Or just use Nimpo. Especially the fire wheels. 3) Tips for killing the "Dino Feinds" a.k.a. Gallas: Hopefully, you'll have Unlabored Flawlessness most of the time that you have to fight these creatures. Flying Dragon Falling Slash will make you almost immune to them as it stuns them perfectly, and they'll stand up to be hit by the aerial attacks of the combo. However, Ryu does not possess an attack that will interrupt the Bite animation, so watch out. You can cheaply do Divine Cicada off of a wall and then immediately Wind Path off of them onto a wall and repeat. This will interrupt even their Bite. Unfortunately, they can use their Flame Breath to knock you out of this. These Fiends can damage you greatly from off screen. Use Flying Dragon Falling Slash, and immediately roll away upon its completion. Unfortunately, not even Earth Splitter will kill these Fiends outright. Remember to keep moving and to not give up. I have broken 3 controllers over this game and I have the pieces to prove it. good luck.

Im Matt I disappeared from the board for a while, but Im back Im 16 years old Im in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and I probably hate it more than anything I used to live in Saint Louis Im in a Band called Access Ramp (metal mostly). I am the lead guitarist and backup singer (screaming mainly). Our first "real" show is tonight. At the hardrock Cafe. Im scared. I have one older sister, who is going to go to Penn State next year. In 3 weeks, Im getting a puppy golden retriever whos name is still up for suggestion. Brandy maybe? (PM ideas if you have something good). I wear a brown jacket and aviators every day, even in the summer...I dont know why. I am scared of clowns and Chupacabras my favorite place in my house is on the roof, (I take my girlfriend up there to look at stars). I do like videogames, although not as much anymore. Favorite has the be either Resident Evil 4 or Conkers Bad Fur Day for the X-Box. I am very insecure about myself, even though I act cocky. I dont trust the government. Watch this to see what I mean I smoke, although Im trying to quit I dont do that well in school, not because I am dumb, but because I am to busy daydreaming or not caring I plan on going to Britain to act professionally even though I want to be an actor, no Im not gay My favorite band has to be Rob Zombie favorite movie: the Boondock Saints I am secretly not a big fan of manga or anime I have dated 17 girls...and I have broken up with all of them, and I still dont know why. I doubt anyone will read this many things about me, most people would probably stop way up there. I dont have a social stereotype that Im in, so I just say I'm "eccentric" I am an athiest I work out every day, for 2-3 hours. I am scared that I wont have a future I curse more than any other man I live in my basement, practically. My father told me that santa didnt exist when I was 3 I dont trust that many people I am running out of things to say. Thanks

I realize that I created a thread on a question about Conker, but I created this one just to talk about it. Personally, I love L&R (Live and Reloaded). I was a huge fan of the first one as well for the N-64 version. The only problem is that the developers at RARE took out the original multiplayer which I loved so dearly. I showed this game to my sister's boyfriend, who I would think liked it. Instead, he was disgusted by the "crude humor and insulting jokes". I personally dont think it is this bad. Is anyone else offended by L&R, or was it just him? Here is a screen or two, to show off the beautiful graphics:

I am a huge fan of the Oddworld games, and I have been since Abes Oddesey. One time (I believe while watching G4-Icons), I heard that Oddworld Inhabitants, the manufacterers (I know I cant spell), were dropping oddworld and their wonderful characters. I was very much crushed, and I sent myself into a weeping hysteria. Later, I was being nistalgic and I saw an add for Oddworld: Hand of Odd on a site. The site was www.depthsofoddworld.com (which now doesnt work, so dont try). Hand of Odd was going to be the first steps into the RTS genre, and it would be out for xbox and PC. I was confused, because Oddworld Inhabitants broke up...or did they? Does anyone know anything about the game? Or does anyone know what is the real story behind the creators of Oddworl?
