Incidentally, I would never let my kid see any TV until they are at least five. Those early stages are when the brain is doing all its low level formatting, and setting partitions. :) I'd rather play with him, talk to him, stimulate the little tykes mind; not see him zone out on Telletubbies.
There are literally hundreds of shows that can be used to stimulate a child's mind; what you're saying is a rash generalization.

I would vote for Obama at this point. I agree with him on almost all issues and he really is a great orator. I prefer him to Hillary, but I would vote for her over any of the republicans. Too many things irk me about the republicans at this point.
My bible says man was created by Him. That's good enough for me.
Not to prance all over your beliefs, but this in and of itself is a problem. Blindly following anything is just pointless. At least weigh the facts and looks at the options.

It's finally time. I will be graduating from high school in may, and it will without a doubt be the most bittersweet moment of my life so far. I'll lose so much and yet gain so much more. I'll experience new things, move out of my parents house, and finally move on with my life. But that's beside the point. I still have around four months of actual classes left, and I don't care. Not one bit. I've always thought of high school as being an impedance to actually getting on with my life, but now I really don't care. I thought I had senioritis in the first semester, but it's nothing like that that I feel now. Everything I do has little meaning after this year and I could fail all of my classes except for my required English class and not care in the least. Having taken a Psychology class last semester, I am only more intrigued by the phenomenon. So, to get the ball rolling: What are your experiences with senioritis? Di it hit you all at once or gradually like it did me?

Elizabethtown Kentucky is known for: The movie of the same name: Our Musuem And that's about it.

Today I was all set to buy a Blu-Ray player from best buy and take advantage of their 5 free movies in store deal. The ad says that the offer applies to all blu-ray players that are not PS3s or computer drives. I decided to get a player that was on clearance(it was just the player, remote, and instructions. No box.) and picked out my movies, but when I got to the counter I was told that I could only get the deal if I was willing to pay full price for the player, which was $300 more than the discounted price. The associate told me this is what his manager told him(even after I pointed out that there is nothing in the ad about the player being new), so since I was unclear on the validity of such a ruling and I didn't want to erupt on the associate 10 mins before closing, I left empty handed. The question is, can a company do that? Just add stipulations in store to stay profitable*? *This is what I was told. They referred to it as double dipping/keeping the transaction profitable.

I've had it since it was released and it is definitely the best of it's kind. A few annoyances are present, but the setlist is amazing and playing with 3 friends is nothing short of spectacular. Guitar Hero 3 is pretty terrible by comparison, even to the older GH games. It just has the feel of being thrown together and was in many ways a step backwards from the precedent set by Harmonix in the first 3 GH games. Neversoft proved that they didn't have a clue when it came to actually making the games. The song selection was mostly a poor attempt to make the game really hard and the covers were terrible.
I do not agree with making prostitution legal. It will promote the problems that make people turn to it. Even if people choose it not out of desperation but by choice, it's promoting the wrong ideas (going into what "wrong ideas" pertains to is unrelated to anything you addressed).
Here lies a big problem with your argument: you assume that the "wrong ideas" are worthy of laws slowing their spread but neglect to even mention them. And whose to say that your ideas are right to begin with(or that this issue is so black and white)?
It's really quite sad that our current society's idea of freedom is simply the lack of morals and dignity and respect.
Lets see here. A guy cheats on his girlfriend of four years in her house and she catches him in the act. Immoral? Yes. Undignified? Yes. Disrespectful? Yes. Worthy of being charged with a crime? I'd challenge anyone to say yes here and provide some reasons why.

Okay, here's the situation: I failed a class. The first semester of it at least. And no one knows about it. Yet. I still have to tell my parents and my "mentor" (she proctors the class. It's online.) I know they will all be pissed off badly by it, so I plead to the OB: How have you handled this situation in the past, or how would you if you had to? Facts -I am a senior in High School -I live with my parents -The failing was my fault because I got too far behind -I got an A in the other online class I took and have A's or B's in all of my other classes. Ideas -For my parents, ask them to be distant and let me deal with the situation since I will be attending college soon. Also tell them that it is good to get this wakeup call now and not when I get to college and it costs money. -For my mentor, tell her that I did it to myself and that if I work very hard this coming semester I can easily bring the grade up. Also offer for her to check my progress anytime she pleases and then immediately go to a chair and read for the class.

42" 1080p LCD Television I've wanted a new tv for quite some time but never really found what I wanted at a price I could afford. With my birthday and christmas 3 weeks apart, I combined them together and came up with just enough money to get this. I can pick it up from Sears on Monday. Other than that, I bought a printer at Office Depot today like I do every year.

What retailers only support Blu-Ray? Blockbuster is the only one I can think of, and one rental chain isn't much of an advantage, especially factoring in it's small selection and hundreds of stores that carry both formats. The most important store in the format war is, at least in the US, Best Buy. They keep a large and diverse stock of both formats. As an interesting anomaly, Blockbuster's exclusive deal with The Weinstein Company for rentals and the companies exclusive support of HD-DVD makes their movies unavailable for rent in HD. *I also remember Gamestop, but they seem to only have 5 or 6 titles at any one time.
-
HD-DVD is looking to push ahead with the exclusive support of The Weinstein Company, Dreamworks, Dreamworks Animation, Paramount, and Universal accompanied by a much lower price and smoother, better functionality. HD-DVDs entry player increased it's market penetration by 35% in 3 days when the price was dropped to $99. The PS3, Blu-Ray's main player, was even outsold last week in japan by the Xbox 360, a console that has never sold well in japan to begin with. On the topic of digital distribution, it won't materialize in the next decade if ever for 3 main reasons: 1. Storage Constraints- Only a certain number of movies will fit on a HD before another cumbersome drive is required. 2. Download Speeds- Most people just don't have the connection to justify digital distribution. People also like to use the internet freely without a huge download bogging down the connection. 3. Resale Value- Digital distributions have none, and people like to have that safety net. Much more relevant for video games, but still relevant here.

Mooching? She was basically the co-president for 8 years. -

ever deadly cancer sticks (thread for smokers)
Morpheus replied to Metalcore501's topic in General Discussion
Jumping off of cliffs also has been shown to have a higher rate of long-term suffering physically and psychologically. Many studies into the ramifications of jumping off of cliffs shows that it's much, much worse than smoking and can lead to death, broken bones, phobias, wounds, and pregnancy problems. I mean, really, smoking is very tame by comparison so I think most of us should get off of our high horses.
I agree. If there's any logic that is sound 100% of the time it's that there is something worse that's not occurring. Let's say, for example, that I am contemplating whether or not to stab myself in the foot. Stabbing is bad, right? But I can do it fine and well, since shooting myself in the head would be much worse. Stabbing myself in the foot will certainly kill me slower, right? Same concept. There were worse guys than Hussein out there, but that didn't make him a saint. -
The Host was horrible. The CG was beautiful but the dialog was terrible, the plot was full of tractor trailer sized holes, and some of the shots had no point. Not to mention that everyone in the movie is an idiot and the political commentary is way too over the top to be dramatic, and yet it fails to even think about being funny.
Also, the archer girl irked me. It's a huge lizard that's 20 feet in front of you. ****ing shoot it.
Lost Kingdoms was an amazing and overlooked rpg, and if you have a few friends and gba with the gamecube link cable Pac Man Vs. is very entertaining.

The church has about as much chance of winning this case as if I sued Mcdonald's because I detested yellow. It's just a game, and they really need to stop whining about this and work on the people getting shot in their own backyard problem that they seem to like to emphasize. That sounds like a worthy cause.

Several wonderful shows were recently canceled (Stargate SG-1, Veronica Mars) but, even with no new episodes from them, I can't see how you could call TV horrible. You can't possibly watch everything there is to watch and make that rash of a judgment, especially since from the sound of it you don't watch enough to even successfully evaluate the major shows. Anyway, this is without a doubt the greatest commercial EVER: Captain Morgan Rum.

The best would be The Beatles. They have some competition in the area in the same way that Elvis has competition in being Elvis: Try as they might, no band has been able to muster the amazing sound and sheer influence The Beatles have. Ask any band today what the pinnacle of success is and each member will answer in unison that, in a perfect world, they would be just like The Beatles.

Jack Thompson is an amazing attorney
except in Alabama where he was deemed way too ****ing insane to practice law
. Manhunt 2 will either teach children to ruthlessly kill their classmates in cold blood or be effectively harmless just like a thousand games before it. Which seems more logical, inane biases or factual precedents? The former of course. Seriously, the man is trying to create another Red Scare out of something people just won't ever accept, because it's illogical, unprecedented, and laughable at best.
