I have learnt the hard way that you can take a horse to water but you can't make him drink. I understand that people have their own faiths statutes and beliefs and reasons why they do not believe in God, and I respect that. If you are not interested, I will not force my faith upon you. I am human, however, and I must admit it hurts me when people say or suggest my religion is based upon lies and that I have been brainwashed. It doesn't happen often, but it still hurts. That's why I stopped reading these threads in the first place.[/FONT']
I don't think I would go so far as to say that LDS (or ay other religion) is based upon lies, but they are not based in truth either. Religion is a matter of faith in your beliefs and understanding that there are millions of people that each believe different things. Everyone can't be right. For the above reasons I am not a part of any religion, organized or individual. I don't really have set beliefs, but I definately do not believe in god. I especially can't stand god as described by most religions. The term hypocrite comes to mind. Most religions are based on believing in them or going to hell. I find this fact very disturbing and utterly ridiculous: What "just" god would do such a thing? In conclusion, I find religion pointless. There is no way to find the right religion since to non-believers it sounds, well, stupid. It has been created by regular people, and who's to say that they weren't just manipulative or crazy?

I was looking through my past threads, and what did I find?
We've had many Where Do You Live? Threads, and I always thought that we needed a better solution. So now the days of sifting through page after page of people is over! You can now post yourself and see where others that use Otakuboards live conveniently at http://www.frappr.com/otakuboards[/URL'].
I would agree to sending them no money. Not only were you ordered to be there an extra night and informed of such inapropriately, you were also under the assumption that the last two days would consist of you working, so you lose those 2 days to any real plans. Extra, unavoidable, spur of the moment time at any other workplace is in the neighborhood of double, and you are entitled to such.

Quite Possibly The Most Useless Piece Of Legislation, 2006
Morpheus replied to Morpheus's topic in General Discussion
My whole point was for the personel in libraries to actually do their jobs and monitor kids. This may be something that could help in some minimal, statistical way, but congress has much better things to do than vote on this. -
Link. Not that I don't agree with the purpose that they are aiming at. I do. This just won't help one little bit. If kids can't get onto myspace at school, then they'll just get on at home. If they must, they'll find new sites. This isn't something that Congress should deal with. If you are a teacher or a parent, do your job. Problem solved.
DOPA would instruct the FCC to ban commercial sites with personal profiles, personal journals and direct communication between users. Some estimates indicate that the number of sites fitting this description could easily be in the hundreds, possibly more.
Hundreds? Someone obviously hasn't a clue what they are talking about.

They're scaling down for one simple reason: The people that they are cutting out don't really matter from an industry standpoint. Sure, it's cool to go to E3, but you really don't matter at all compared to game reviewers and other industry personel. We'll still get the same news. I just see this as ridding of the completely useless floor show.

Cheesy Mac

Seeing as the regular Easy Mac tastes quite like the stove top version (dull), I decided to spice it up a bit.

What You Will Need

Package of Easy Mac Cheese (I prefer sliced of American, but any cheese wil do) Milk

Instructions

Prepare the Easy Mac according to the label. As soon as you mix in the cheese sauce mix, break up a slice of cheese (or simply add shredded cheese) and turn the macaroni until the cheese is completely covered. Let sit for 3-5 minutes (varies). Mix up the now melted cheese and the macaroni. Add milk (about 2 seconds at half pour should do nicely). Stir and Enjoy! Voila! You have created true Macaroni and Cheese!
I know. I mean, I'd rather have someone experienced. ;D And most of you guys don't want smoker or drinkers? What fun is that? I know you Otaku like to party.
A little drinking here and there is fine, but smoking, I can't stand it. I live in Kentucky, and we have a lot of smokers, and it drives me crazy. Smoking is idiotic. Let's put carcinogens into our body 'cause it's fun! How 'bout NO.
The Middle East?[/I'] Don't, don't, DON'T point a finger at a region and accuse it of something a few people did. If you'd watch the news, you would see that there are Arab countries disagreeing with Hezbollah's actions. Saudi Arabia. Syria. To name a couple.
He was refering to the fact that the middle east seems to have a habit of waging wars against Israel. Well, more like attempting to wage war. Israel should not, for any logical reason, be as dominant in war as it is. Hamas attacked Israel with terror, and Israel lost. They gave The West Bank and Gaza to the Palestinians. Now Hezbollah is trying the same, and after 60 years of failed negotiations and constant fear, Israel is ****ing pissed. And at this point, they have a good reason to be fed up with ridiculous idiots bombing their country. They just want to be left alone, and it seems that a show of military might is the only way to get them to back off. Seriously, Israel could obliterate any of the countries that attack them. They're eventually going to go over the deep end and flatten a ****ing country.

I'd just like to say that girls for some reason seem to be generally incapable of finding what they want. They seem very adept at identifying the qualities they desire, but tend to date the "fun" guys and relate their emotions to the very guys that they say that they want. This brings me to a question I'd like to pose to all of the girls: Why do women choose such bad guys? Isn't it possible to realize that you are dating losers and, you know, STOP?
At one point I had 8 or so tabs open at one time.
Pansy. Going through Wikipedia, I sometimes have enough tabs to go off of the side of Firefox. Some tabs aren't shown, and one half occupies the space for the Close Tab button. You achieve the half and half effect at 34 tabs, and the unseen ones beyond that number.
I want to get laid sometime between now and Christmas. It's been too long.[/color']
I think we all do. Anyway, I want to find some sort of motivation to read the 3 books I have to read for school. I have 16 days (so I'm not strapped for time), but I doubt I'll ever develop the ability to care about reading about horses ever, much less in 2 weeks.

While the graphics were great (especially the animations), I never could get into God of War. It felt like it had no soul. The gameplay was repetitive even for a hack and slash. Press one button over and over to kill your enemies, and the bosses just add a "Press this Button!" mechanic. And the puzzles made me angry. Trying to push a box slowly while dodging arrows is not fun. I'm glad I never bought the game. This game will go into my memory along with Halo and all of the other games that were hyped as being awesome and ended up being a really pretty, boring game.

I would hope Bungie improves the gameplay. The first 2 made me feel as though I had played the game years before, and that it hasn't aged well.

Gaming EXTRA! PS3 Games Prices May SURPASS $59.99! Read all about it!
I really don't see PS3 getting a profit any faster than the original Xbox.
I agree with you. The PS3 will never pull a profit; the marketing sceme doesn't work. -
I use Firefox, primarily because I'm a tab whore; I don't really take advantage of any of its other features. Most of the time when I'm online, I have at least eight or more tabs open. But I sometimes stick an IE window on my secondary (and significantly worse) monitor, so I can check how things display and so forth. ~Dagger~
You know, there is an extension that allows you to open an IE window in Firefox: IE Tab..

Because my parents are cheap and hate me.
I'm guessing you have a "Family" computer? I'm only 16, but my parents can barely figure out computers, and I like it that way. I really feel bad for you, and I understand how controlling some parents can be. But look on the bright side: In 4 years you can leave with the comfort of knowing to never do that to a kid. And anyway, hasn't AOL finally given in to letting you use different browsers?

I personally use Firefox. To make this a worthwhile thread, there is a question I'd like to pose: Why On Earth Do People Use Internet Explorer Or AOL Explorer? I would say ignorance, for the most part. Most people assume that, since it is named Internet Explorer (or in AOL's case, literally "It's the Internet button!"), it is the only way to access the internet. There seems to be a large group of immensely ignorant computer users (apparently 80% or so source). Of course, the reason I say 80% is that 85% use IE (no numbers for AOL), and while I would say the vast majority use it for the aforementioned reasons, some do actually like IE and AOL, albeit for reasons unknown. Anyway, does anyone have any other theories as to why people use IE or AOL?

Morpheus replied to Tatsubei Yagyu's topic in Noosphere
I also think it's important to point out that the prices listed here are deceptive in one important way: currency values change. Today's $59.99 would have been worth significantly more ten or fifteen years ago. So although old games may appear more expensive on the surface, they actually aren't, as a result of currency value changes. So PS3's games could easily be the most expensive ever, depending on which way Sony chooses to take their software pricing strategy.
You're right on the point James, but you've got it backwards. The old games that cost $60 or $70 seem expensive, and when you factor in inflation, are even more expensive, since the dollar is worth less now than it was 10 years ago. Sony's games aren't the most expensive ever by a longshot compared to these. -

The problem is that while CDs, DVDs, and HD-DVDs are inexpensive ($.25 or less) to manufacture, Blu-Ray disks aren't. A Rewritable Blu-Ray disk retails around $20, whereas the crafty consumer can get 50 DVD-Rs or 100 CD-R's for about the same. The price point is it's real fault. Sure it can store twice the data of an HD-DVD, but the jump in quality is minimal at best. I mean, an upscaled DVD is nearer to HD quality then one would think, and Blu-Ray just can't justify a high price for a slightly better picture.
