1. Alright...for what I believe to be the third time now, I'm resurrecting my poetry thread. I'm trying to actually start posting more on this site again, though I've been extremely busy. I was searching through my poetry folder and found this poem I wrote a while ago. I just thought it would be nice to post up, so that I can get comments on it. I thought it was unique, since I wrote it with every other line in each verse rhyming. I edited it where I thought it was necessary. I'm going to write an entirely new poem later, but I'm not really in the mood to at the moment. Shadow These endless nights grow ever colder I just don't understand these lies My suffering is the beholder Of my screaming, painful cries The blood within my veins runs slow Until it freezes from lament It's so hard to deal with all the woe And unceasing, dark torment Poison pulsing through my soul Eternal knawing in my heart I've relinquished all control Helpless as I'm torn apart Every piece of me is broken Lacking strength to make it end Losing many words unspoken That I could not comprehend The venom surges deeper still Feeding off all of the untruth Destroying all remaining will Making hope seem so uncouth My tears flow, never ceasing And they leave me blind to all With my sanity decreasing Nothing stops me as I fall Last of all the final light That dream I held most dear The hope that shone most bright Starts to fade and disappear Soon the final glow goes out And with no wish to remain With nothing left for me to doubt I choose to end eternal pain I'm not sure how much I like it, but then again, I did write it a long time ago. Leave a comment if you wish, and I'll post up a new poem later.
  2. I like the .hack series, personally. The anime, manga, and game all tie in well and connect to each other, and that's something I like to see in games based on an anime/manga series. I enjoy .hack's storyline, and though I can't say the games are the best I've ever played (I find going around to get Virus Cores extremely tedious), I'm motivated to play them by the storyline. I have yet to complete .hack//QUARANTINE, the final installment in the line of PS2 games, but I've seen all of .hack//SIGN and have read up to volume two of .hack//Legend of the Twilight, and I'm basically just madly in love with the .hack story.
  3.
I already did that. It's not the disks, it's the system. And i called them, and they told me it would cost 90+ dollars to get it fixed. Besides, it's not under warranty anymore.
I'm not sure why they would charge you over $90 to get it fixed. My PS2 had a problem a while back where it wouldn't read any disks at all, and, like with Semjaza Azazel's brother's PS2, they told me where to send it after I answered some basic questions, and that they'd fix it for free. Mine was also no longer under warranty, and, like Semjaza Azazel, I only had to pay shipping and handling. Unfortunately, I didn't get mine back for a month or so...I guess maybe my problem was harder to fix or something. Either that, or they had a lot of others to fix. However, I did get it back, and it worked like new. So, really, I don't know why they'd charge you for it. Maybe you should try calling again and try to find some way to reason with them so that you could get it repaired for free. Just state what the problem is, and if they're supposed to fix the lens for free, then they should. Who knows, maybe the person you spoke with on the phone was new and didn't know about the policy too well, or was just in a bad mood or something.
  4. I really like the way .hack//Legend of the Twilight is going at the moment. Like everyone else, it seems, I'm eagerly awaiting the third volume. I'm very intrigued by the story. As everyone's been saying, it's a very comical addition to the .hack series. It's a nice contrast to .hack//SIGN, which was almost too serious. I like the use of actual techniques and skills as seen in the .hack games, like Shugo's use of Thunder Dance against the Lich Lord in volume two, and Mireille's failed use of Dek Lei against the Pumpkin Head in volume one. That brings me to another thing I like about .hack//Legend of the Twilight - the use of enemies from the .hack games, as well. The appearances of characters from the game is a nice surprise, as well. It's nice to see how they've changed. I really want to see what happens to Shugo and the others in the third volume. I actually got rather upset when Kamui
had her way and got Shugo, Rena, and the others thrown in jail. It was, however, funny to see the after-effects of Shugo's Data Drain of Komiyan III. It was funny to see Data Drain actually be used by Shugo on another player.
I just need to see them escape! Personally, I think it would be funny if Shugo used Data Drain on Kamui, but I doubt that would happen.
  5.
I think it would do the country good if we told the other Athiests to shut up. This land was made under God and thats how it should be. With the debate on taking the ' One Nation Under God' out of our pledge than it would be the 'In God we Trust' out of the money and I dont even want think of what else. We beleive God is the one taking care of us, and if we turn our backs on him, what ifluence would that be on other countries, cause I know some countries look up to us as a leader. They admire us, and taking any kind out God out of anything of ours would just be wrong. So yeah, tell the other 14% to Shut the he** up!
Your religious ignorance is astounding. Since I'm questioning my religion at the moment, I cannot help but comment. Just because you're a Christian doesn't mean that your religion is the only one that matters. Times change, and this country was founded in a time when Christianity was considered to be, for the most part, the dominant religion. However, that is no longer true for this country. Now we call ourselves "the land of the free." However, how can this be possible if the pledge, which all students at the very least have to stand for, contains the phrase "under God"? I know there are others who share in my opinion when I say that I'm very uncomfortable to have to listen to and recite most of a speech swearing to a deity I'm not sure I believe in every morning. Couldn't it be revised to be more open to everyone? I don't care quite as much about the "In God we trust" on the money, because I don't notice it, but it's still there in this no longer predominately Christian country. Have you also considered that those opposing the aforementioned sayings are not just atheists? What about Wiccans? They don't believe in the Christian God, so why would they want those sayings either? There are numerous other religions that could be against the "In God we trust" on money and the "under God" in the pledge. Who are you talking about when you say "we believe God is taking care of us?" Take a note: generalization is bad. You're referring to yourself and anyone else who that would apply to, not the entire country. Not everyone believes that God is taking care of us. And, might I add, that you're being a hypocrite in your religion by saying "Shut the he** up?" Even with the censoring asterisks there, saying that is using hell in the context of a swear, which is going against what is written in the Bible. What does taking out God have to do with other countries admiring us? First off, I'm not quite sure what countries you're talking about, seeing how I can't think of any particular examples of countries that admire us. More to the point, however, I don't believe these countries of which you speak admire us because we have "In God we trust" printed on our money. Do you really think that if we took that off, other countries would stop admiring us? Goodness. Countries wouldn't admire us just because we believe in God. If that were the case, then every country in the world would be assaulting France with gifts of candy and roses.
  6. Thanks again, Mimmi! So...last night, I was really upset, stressed out, and depressed, so I ended up writing this poem. 7. Thanks for your comment, Mimmi! I've been waiting for someone to respond to my poetry so that I could put up this next one. It's my first attempt at a non-rhyming poem, and I honestly don't think it came out all that great. It's short, too, but I'd like some feedback on it anyway...since I do tend to judge myself rather harshly. Prison Sanctuary Every day the one before it Safety in solitude That leaves no hope for something more. What is the life outside the circle? Painful, wasted happiness Tainting all thoughts So eager to move forward Yet terrified of change. Exhausted yet unable to sleep Staring blankly into darkness So full of nothing Feeling so empty. Awakening to dreary light The new day begins, Same as the one before it Forever repeating. The prison sanctuary An illusionary haven Providing all that is needed Lacking all that is wanted.
  8. Personally, I love Linkin Park. The band is one of my favorites, mostly because I enjoy and can relate to most of their songs in my own way. My favorite song by them is Breaking The Habit. I really like the way it sounds, and it sort of reminds me of the way I used to be. It's also given me inspiration for scenes in stories I write, as do Numb and Points of Authority, my other two favorites. The angst in their songs sometimes helps me deal with issues going on in my own life at the time, and I waver with my enjoyment of some songs based on my mood and the events going on in my life at the time. Although, as much as I like all their songs, the only ones I really listen to any more are the three mentioned above. As Manic stated, they tend to get redundant after listening to them too often. I just think that Linkin Park should come out with some new songs, because they're getting to be overdue in my opinion.
  9. I can see that you haven't lost your knack for poetry since I last used these boards. I love both of these poems, and I can relate a lot to both of them...at least, my interpretation of them. First, for Halfway:
Halfway in love Caught between below and above Halfway between happy and sad Something so wonderful, why does it make you feel so bad?
I know that feeling only too well. It's a feeling I get whenever I start to like anyone; I'm happy when I'm with them, but also sad at the same time because I know that there's no chance for them to feel the same way about me. That is an interesting question: How can something that should be wonderful, liking someone, make you feel so badly at the same time? I only wish I had the answer.
Middle is a painful place to be Thoughts are clouded and you can't quite see The right decision is never clear Caught at halfway, held back by fears.
Middle is indeed a painful place to be. The emotion of liking or loving someone is both a blessing and a curse; with no way to tell if the person in question feels the same or not, it feels good and hurts at the same time. It feels good because of the possiblity of being able to have a chance with that person, and it hurts because of the thought that the outcome may be the opposite of what is desired. Whether to ask the person out or try to ignore the crush is a decision that always has a highly unclear result until a choice is chosen; and then there is no turning back. Fear is the reason for the hurt that goes along with the good feelings of love, for fear of rejection is what causes the pain. And now, my comments for Wasting:
Fill you up with nothing Doing things over and over that had already been done Watch the hours tick Wasting away in the sun
I know this feeling very well...because it's what I feel every day; empty inside. Each morning I wake up knowing that the new day will be relatively the same as the last; the only difference is the change of date.
Stupid things meant to make you think you're amused Life fades faster than words washed in water While you sat there waiting Wondering why you bothered.
To keep yourself busy, you would do whatever possible to keep as entertained as possible, pretending to be fine. However, you really know that the useless activities done to keep amused are truly pointless and unproductive. Inside, you know that your efforts are futile, and are trapped in an endless cycle, waiting for something to break you out of it, while knowing that nothing will ever happen and a change from this repetition will never occur.
Nothing became your everything The photograps came out blank And all the memories we shared Wasted away, and slowly sank (to the bottom of oblivion.)
What you thought was something ended up not being anything at all, and you were seeing things that were never really there in the first place. However, before realizing this, you had already devoted yourself to what you believed was there. The memories of the way things used to be seem distant, floating away, never to be felt or known again. Well, that's what I got out of your poems. I'm not sure if my interpretations were correct; what I took from the poems were lines that touched me based on what I'm feeling right now. And since I made my interpretations based on my feelings, I'm not sure if they're right. But, no matter what the case, both poems are amazing. Great job, Karmi! I can't wait to read more.
  10. Guess who's back? Yeah...I've finally come back to stay for a while. And this time not just for a day or so...at least, I hope. I'm going to try to stay updated now. And you have Bio to thank for that...whether it be a good thing or a bad thing. But it's good to be back. Well, I don't really have any new poems, except for one...and I don't know how good it is. I just figured I'd post it up so people could have a look, and I'll write a new one later if inspiration comes to me. Children of the Glass Trapped in bitter fantasies Lost in worthless dreams Locked in unreality Where nothing?s what it seems Enclosed within unknowingly Caught behind the mirror Though everything seems false It makes things so much clearer On the wrong side of the looking glass View all that?s real and true The one and only catch is that There?s nothing you can do Yell and scream for all your might Cry ?til your tears are gone The others will remain unable To awake to reality?s dawn No one will heed your warnings Not one will hear your call They cannot hear or see you Behind eternity?s wall There?s a price to pay for knowledge Truth carries a steep toll For to be able to see the unseen Costs no less than your soul Take one final look behind Then forsake yourself alas And join the unforgiving ranks Of the children of the glass
  11. Well...I've finally returned. Sorry about my extremely long abscence. Thank you to Rockstar Haruko, DerelictDestiny, Ellester41, and KarmaOfChaos for your reviews. I'm glad you all like my poetry, and I finally have another one for you...although it is very depressing. The style, too, is different from my other poems, so I don't know how it will sound. Goodbye I cannot feel your presence here Your tender love has disappeared Depression locked in misery Only death can set me free Life?s a weight to hold me down In this suffering I drown And after all you?ve put me through I?m losing everything I knew Lost in my world of tears and hate It?s up to you to choose my fate Do I live or do I die Is it my time to say goodbye? How can it be that you can?t see All the pain you bring to me I?m lost in shadow on my own Trapped in darkness all alone My death approaches ever fast I don?t know how long I can last Was all this of your own intent? Or is it me who must repent? The knife will not cease to persist It?s up to you to slit my wrist Do I live or do I die Is it my time to say goodbye? Betrayal and your selfish lies Darkness in the light?s disguise Your life to which my soul is bound This tragedy is most profound All I believed in was untrue Yet my heart stays attached to you The redeeming gift of suicide After all the tears I?ve cried There?s nothing left for me to do But put all of my faith in you Do I live or do I die Is it my time to say goodbye? Well, that's all. Tell me what you think...and I'll be sure to post other poems more quickly now.
  12. Eh, I have some catching up to do when it comes to reviewing. Lollipop Wrappers I love it. That's exactly how I feel almost all the time. Just the little, insignificant thing that can bring others joy if I hurt myself doing it, and who is tossed aside after its purpose is fulfilled. I liked it a lot. Paranoia Pill: Another good one, though I liked "Lollipop Wrappers" more. This one I can't relate to as much, but I still loved the way it sounded. And yes, I do feel the paranoia now. Simple: This is a beautiful poem. It's very deep, I think. I, too, would like the honest truth...but unfortunately, all that most people ever seem to be able to do is lie to me. Oh well...I guess sometimes the truth is just too much to expect from people. Oh, and I want my own pagan Mountain Dew demons. ^^

    Characters

My favorite character from .hack//SIGN is Tsukasa. He's a lot like me, and I can relate to his situation. If I was in his situation, trapped in "The World," I think I would like it. Like him, I'm kind of depressed, too. I'd love to have an escape like that, to be able to get away from reality. But, I don't know if I'd like so much to be controlled. Plus, it might be a little scary, seeing how you don't really know what would happen if you died. Regardless, I'm sure I wouldn't mind being trapped inside a video game. The fact that Tsukasa is a Wavemaster also appeals to me. I always like being the mage characters in the game best, and having magic would be fun. Unlike Tsukasa, though, I'd probably use my magic more often.
(And in addition, yes, I know Tsukasa is really a girl. I'm just referring to the character as a "he" because it's what I'm used to doing.)

  14. Well, I didn't post anything yesterday because no one commented on my last one in time. But now I can, thanks to Arch. Thank ya. I would try to lighten up my poems, but my best ones tend to be darkest. I wrote this poem yesterday, and was going to put it up, but...well, no one commented. Now I can. Masquerade The everlasting struggle Within the lost one?s mind Searching for the secret place Where light and dark collide The forces battle evermore For the quest with which they're tasked Seeking answers to their questions That should never have been asked Unheeding words of wisdom And the knowledge of the sage Taking action so impulsively Gone blind with senseless rage The two sides so opposed Their strength begins to fade Yet both continue singing in Destruction?s serenade Falling prey to wicked trickery Their emotions so afflicted By disease and darkness in their hearts True nature contradicted As the numbers wither slowly down And remaining will grows weak The answers to their questions They continue still to seek When the final specter breathes its last Knowing soon that it will die Comes the ironic, last epiphany They were fighting for a lie I tried to incorporate some symbolism, but I don't know if anyone will see it. It's hard for me to find it, myself. But, maybe it's there... Anyway...tell me what you think.
  15. Whoo! Yay for imagery and metaphors. I should try to incorporate something like that into my poems. Now that it's been explained, "The World's Fantasy" makes much more sense to me now. As for the new poem, it does remind me of "Tin Angel" and its symbolism, like you said. I like it. It's a nice, peaceful poem. Short and sweet.
