The only pickup line I've ever used was provided by none other than Bender Bending Rodriguez. "Hey baby, wanna kill all humans?" Success rate so far? 100%.

I've not met any celebrities, but my friend Brenton had lunch with John Birmingham, who is a pretty awesome author we both love. The guy even paid for it, which was awesome of him (and provided Brenton boasting rights for months). Otherwise I live a pretty lowkey, celebrity-free life.

CDs, bro. You can't go wrong with music. You haven't been involved with each other for a year yet, so don't overthink it just yet. Wait until you're into year two of the rel. at least before pulling off the grand amazing gifts.

Argh. Double AFI. Eww. Red Hot Chili Peppers - Stadium Arcadium It doesn't need a lot of introduction. This was a fantastically solid album with very few skippable songs over the entire 28 tracks. If you can't find something to like about it, you're either an indie hipster who's too cool to like anything not on "Cheap as Free Records" or dead. Try: Make You Feel Better, Storm In A Teacup Deadsy - Phantasmagore This was years in the making, but it was worth it. A lot heavier and less synth-heavy than Phantasmagore, but awesome anyway. Try it if you like: Bands that don't suck. Try: Razor Love, Book Of Black Dreams Hilltop Hoods - The Hard Road A lot jazzier than The Calling, and fun as a result. Tight rhymes (except by the British rappers) and great beats make this a must own for any hip hop fan of the Australian description. Try: The Blue Blooded, What A Great Night Dresden Dolls - Yes, Virginia... A lot more upbeat than their debut, but not bad as a result. A bit more accessible, with some catchy songs and awesome lyrics Try: Delilah, My Alcoholic Friends

Also, I forgot to mention before, but as a veteran of 4chan before desu desu desu became a meme? It's... it's not funny. I'm sorry. -

I see your sig, and I think... Why is a 13 year old plugging 4chan? 4chan is the arsehole of the internet, where racism, sexism, and image macros combine into a juggernaut of hilarity. It is clearly inappropriate for those of the 'junior high or lower' disposition. When 13 year olds are at 4chan, the apocalypse isn't far behind. And I was just getting used to the word not being blown to bits by an orgy of destruction and stuff, too. -
It's great for music. That's all I have to say on the matter.

Reporting to the authorities doesn't matter if the girls won't talk about it to the authorities, and as they haven't already, you'd be in for a tough time convincing the police he's a rapist. "My female friends said he'd raped them!" "That's great kid, but we need their testimony." Encourage them to pursue charges, but just be there for them and don't make a huge thing of it in the meantime.

If she considers you a friend, that's a pretty huge gift for just a friend. Just a t-shirt would be understandable from a friend perspective, but the entire series on DVD? That'll make your feelings known for sure, but it's likely to backfire; either because she'll find it excessive for someone who isn't even dating them, or because they'll feel guilty they can't give you anything of that magnitude in return. Presents don't win hearts, unless they're shallow. A poem might help, but if she considers you a friend, it might just weird her out (if the entire dvd boxset of Invader Zim already). Why don't you just talk to her?

If only that old lady didn't get burned by some McCoffee...[/FONT']
While that case brought up a lot of scam cases, it was actually pretty legit. The coffee served in that McDonalds was FAR above the generally accepted heat for instant coffee, hot enough to cause almost-instant 3rd degree burns when it had soaked into her clothing. People bring it up as an example of a scam case all the time, but it's not really. While the circumstances weren't ideal, the company really was at fault there. -
Don't encourage him guys. Honestly. He thinks he's better than all of you for "thinking different", and you can't rationalize him otherwise. It doesn't work. Give up while you still have your sanity. For the longest time I took solace in the fact that my teddy bear was a constant. All through my life, the teddy was that one inanimate object that was always there. Oddly, when I gave it to my ex (who lives overseas), and we eventually split, not having that object seemed to spur change. I'm a much different person now than I was when I actually had blue ted, and I think I prefer it. Of course, it can't all be put down to the bear being gone, but it's loss is style a definite marker of a turning point in my life.

If you have a fear of public speaking, there isn't much you can do to 'distract' the fear, short of overcoming it. Imagining in underwear doesn't work and taking drugs is just an awful idea to begin with, so I'd suggest just learning your speech to the best of your ability, faking some confidence, and delivering it as well as you can. I mean, honestly, fear of public speaking is primarily a confidence thing (not confidant in your speech/looks/ability/whatever), so if you can figure out why you're afraid of it, then isolate and fix it, you should be able to kick it for good... but that's much easier said than done, so I'm not sure it's gonna work in the short term. In any case, good luck.

Anyways, my problem is with my MyOtaku account. Becasue of my inability to notice new links on the backroom page, I just noticed this morning the link to "Post Styles".
That must be a pretty debilitating disability. That link has been there for over two years.
Haha, you kids make me giggle. Charles, I'll make sure to post some lesbian pictures some day. ;) Ahh, my first kiss was brilliant. The dude was on an acid trip, we were in a smokey basement, and some drunk girl had just thrown up on my shoe. Go drug parties!
Oh, romance.
I'm not sure why everyone else here had a crappy first kiss, mine was pretty awesome.
Mine was pretty awesome too, but you know, speaking for the majority and all. We're in the minority, man.
HE kissed me on the cheek todaY!!! I figured things out between us. I'm shy about love and he's romantically retarded!!! I decided To throw a signal. So when we hugged goodbye I asked if that was all, Just a hug. And he was like I don't know. And so I was like Oh my god! He's a total idiot. I'm waiting here for him and hes not even doing anything. We get to the bike rack, he says goodbye, hugs me and kisses me on the cheek!! It's not much but it's a start.
Ha. Thank God that's sorted out. It's okay people, return to your homes. Nothing to see here.

I know what it is. My point is that what it is is unnecessary. Your first kiss is important, sure, but why is it any more important than the second? The second has a greater potential of being a better kiss, because at least this time you have a slight idea of what's going on, and probably not as nervous either. Sentiment should have no value before an event takes place. You can't or shouldn't place sentiment on that which has not yet happen. The reason being, ya never know what'll mean more to you until you have time to look back. Your first kiss could be horrible. But maybe your 5th kiss could be amazing and all it's cracked out to be. In that case you should remember and place sentiment on the 5th. Which came first is or should be unimportant.
But you don't. I don't remember my fifth kiss. I don't remember my 32nd kiss. I only remember my first kiss, and that's how it is for most people. Yes, it's awkward, and yes, it's never fantastic, but it doesn't matter, because people still place sentimentality on it. I repeat - you only get your first kiss once. If someone has relationship issues with someone, and they're not sure they want to waste that moment on someone they're not even sure about, why encourage them too? It's not "just a kiss", it's one of those defining moments of your life. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying to hold it up as some sort of unachievable goal, I'm just saying, in light of the fact she's not even sure about this dude, she shouldn't throw away that moment unless she's totally sure she wants to. You can say "the fifth will be better!" all you want, but hey, who cares? That's just a fifth kiss. It's not a first. People only ever remember their first.
