Your MATURE opinions on homosexuality
DeadSeraphim replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in General Discussion
As some of you already know, I'm muslim. Hence, I believe that homosexual acts are forbidden and hated by God. God created men and women to be companions for eachother, and it angers him when either sex ignores them gift of companionship that he has given them. I was exposed to the idea of homosexuality before I even learned that it was wrong in my religion, before even learning the story of Sodom. Even then I felt that it was wrong and unnatural. I believe that homosexuality is simply a preference, just like how some people like coffee and others don't, just like how some like broccili and others don't. But some preferences are not good (like alcohol for instance), so people should avoid them. I honestly don't understand why people don't see homosexuality as a problem. I'm not saying that we should hate or shun people with homosexual tendancies, but why doesn't our society at least see it as a problem and that these people need help (no offence to homosexuals here). Technically at least, (I'll leave morals out of this), homosexuality is wrong. It goes against the very nature of humans.
I think you have very little understanding about sex. It's not just an act to make children, it's the ultimate act of unity and bonding for couples, no matter what the sexual preference. By allowing homosexuals to love each other, but not consumate that love, you deny them that chance at unity. If someone were to tell you were allowed to love your husband and be with him, but not allow you to consumate that love, how would you feel? It's a fine line. You either don't tolerate homosexuals or you do. You can't say "It's okay for them to love each other, but keep it in their pants", because that concept just doesn't work. A loving, healthy relationship contains both love and sex. So fess up. Do you tolerate homo sexuals on all levels, including tolerating their sexual practices (which do not affect you on any level whatsoever), or do you not tolerate them at all? -
Really, if you're looking for drug references and in general screwed-upness in a kid's show, Teletubbies are barely the tip of the iceberg. I suggest everyone who found Teletubbies disturbing hunt down H R Puff and Stuff and you'll see just how 'tame' Teletubbies is by comparison.

1. Life on Mars - David Bowie I honestly haven't listened to the Bowie stuff I have to describe this. lol It's Bowie though, so it must be good. 2. Slide - Dresden Dolls A good band (it's only two people :o) but again I don't remember this song. I don't listen to them often, they seem to depress me. Heh. 3. Stoney - Local H An... odd instrumental. Almost Industrial, heh, but we all know Local H is pure rock. 4. Hey Daddy - KoRn Not my favourite song by KoRn. I don't like much of Issues in general though - Untouchables is the album for me. 5. Last Party - Voodoo Glow Skulls A fantastic skacore song. It's great, I love it. Voodoo Glow Skulls in general are pretty awesome. 6. When You Thought Nothing Was Happening - The Herd A laidback song. I don't listen to it much, because I prefer punk to hip hop, however. 7. Flirt - Zeromancer I love all of Zeromancer's stuff. All of it. I prefer material on Eurotrash to Clone Your Lover though. 8. Piggy - Nine Inch Nails Slow, soft. Not my favourite NIN track, heh. 9. Gimme Stitches - Foo Fighters The pace and melody tend to get me down. It's alright though, I guess. 10. Feel Good Hit of the Summer - Queens of the Stone Age Insane. Madness. But oh so good.

These are my CDs. I'm not especially content with it - I think I could (and should) have more. You can see I've had a lot of these CDs a while, Eiffel 65 in particular, lol. I think I was 11 when I bought it, and had to borrow money from my step mum to afford it. :p The ACDC albums were my first albums ever, a gift from my Grandad, heh. They're most likely hot, but they're 10 years old now so it doesn't matter. Anyway, yeah. (mature discussion) Your Opinions on Sex Change
DeadSeraphim replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in General Discussion

I think Shinji's first line sums up most of my thoughts on the procedure of gender reassignment, those that want to go through with such a course of action obviously need psychiatric help. I honestly don't know what to think of people who find themselves in the situation where they believe they have been born the wrong gender, it just seems such an unlikely condition, and perhaps condition is an inaccurate word to use to describe it.
You know, interestingly, people have to undergo psychiatric evaluation before getting a sex change. They have to be observed for a period of time, while on oestregen and living fully as a woman, before psychiatrists deem them mentally fit to undergo the procedure, and decide whether they're serious or just ******* around. Obviously this is only for m2f patients, I've no idea about f2m. That's a whole other ball park, honestly. As an occasional cross dresser (shock, horror, etc) I've looked into this thing somewhat, and have a, I think, reasonably sound opinion on the matter. If someone wants to do this kind of thing - I mean, really wants to, then go ahead and do it. Obviously, if they're insincere, they'll get caught out by the psychiatrists and psychologists, and that acts as an effective enough net to catch those who could be making a potentially irredeemable life altering decision, so it ends up that only those who want it - really want it - end up going the whole nine yards. I think what some of you need to realise, is that it isn't a light choice that these people make (except, perhaps, in some Asian countries which make the decision far too easy to make - I'm looking at you Thailand). Coming out of the closet as a cross dresser is hard enough as it is (I should know) - being honest enough with yourself, your family and your friends to say "I feel I'm the wrong gender and would like to change it" would be one of the hardest decisions these people ever face. Telling them that they need to seek 'psychiatric help' is somewhat insulting to them - it would take a lot of courage to even admit it to yourself, let alone let a surgeon irreparably change their genitalia. All that said, I'm, personally, not interested in the whole procedure. I'm proud of my masculinity, and wouldn't sacrifice it for the world - I cross dress because I prefer the clothing, not because I'd like a vagina. -
Unrelated to this debate... Allowing swearing doesn't mean you'll suddenly get a flood of profanity, nor does it mean people will use it to try and look mature. Even at places where it's acceptable (the slower Gaia forums, for example) it's used as it is here - sparingly. I've gone to the Gaia tech forums for 8 months, and rarely do you get any sudden horrific outburts of swearing like you all seem to be anticipating. It's used in the way most people would use it - to add further emphasise to a point, or in a way that's decidedly not derogatory at all (think Bono saying "This is ******* brilliant"). I mean, people say 'damn' and 'hell' all the time in the same way here. They're just words, and they only have as much meaning as you're willing to give them. It's not like you can't change the censor system as well - yet again, look at Gaia. They have an optional filter. If you turn it on cursing is filtered - turn it off and it's not. It's just a small preference, and is on by default. You could put in the same system here, I think, with little hassle. It'd placate those who would prefer it to horrid asterixes, and make sure those who don't like swearing don't see it. What it won't do is create a swearing epidemic, especially with OB's emphasis on quality.
Dragon Warrior is my favorite game series, so I just did. Not much to tell from there. People often mistaken it just that I really like dragons. Hah, dragons are cool, but I guess they just don't realize it's an actual game saga. I've considered name changes, but I thought it was a nice goal to keep the same name I've had since OtakuBoards Version 1[/b'].
Too bad the series name was changed to Dragon Quest, hey? This s/n is just my all purpose username. It's apparently some hardcore band too. I didn't know that at the time.

Vib Ribbon is another music game made by the same people who did Lammy and Parappa. It's a reaction based game, and you can use ANY of your own music in it. It's kind of fun for a novelty game, but it gets old fast, heh. If you can find it cheap though, or rent, try it.

Except Pearl Jam came first and are the source of the sound.

Yeah, like Stuart says, it's an elaborate joke. No need to worry too much about it. lol

zOmbëe. Nu-metal stereotype through and through. :p

Name: UDen? Sounds somewhat Unreal Tournament-y. lol Combined with your sig, could I guess you like your FPS? Maybe a deathmatch... with rocket launchers... and sniper rifles... and RCP 90s.... *nostalgic gaze* Err... moving on.... Your pic is Bass, who is from Megaman! You either like the character, the series, or just thought it was a cool image. lol
I'll start out with DarkSeraphim because no one commented on your banner/avatar/sig.
Dude, it's totally DeadSeraphim. Get with the picture man, geez. :p Tatsubei Yagyu: Japanese name that you explained. Way to ruin the fun man. Your avatar and sig images match though so I'm betting you're into that particular anime, yeah? (I wouldn't know which, anime is vile, repulsive, etc). The quotes in your sig show you like sharing things you find cool with people. And yeah.

On another note, the Voodoo Glow Skulls are on Victory, and they rock. One of the best ska bands around today.
You knopw Wikipedia is written by users right? lol never listen to Wikipedia.
Of course, that's why Victory Records has no mention of Black Dahlia Murder on its bands page. And Metal Blade does. Seems like Wikipeda was right, shock horror. You knopw forum posts are written by users right? lol never listen to forum posts.
-
If Black Dahlia Murder are on Victory, who is this on Metal Blade? In fact, the Wikipedia article for the band says they've only ever been on Lovelost and Metal Blade. Hmmmm.

Industrial Metal is one of the only variants of metal I can listen to and enjoy regularly. Probably because I like industrial so much to begin with. lol If gODHEAD in my sig, and Zeromancer lyrics in my custom title doesn't prove it, what does, honestly. That said I love punk and ska about as much (good punk and ska - Leftöver Crack and Apocalypse Hoboken own your ***), and KoRn and Marilyn Manson even more than those entire genres, so whatever. lol KoRn's recent shift into more 'industrial' influenced music is much to my liking.

Most people don't care about riffs, or symphonics, or whatever. They here heavy distortion and aggressive, loud lyrics - and that's the accepted definition of metal. Furthermore most people don't care enough to look further into it. You can argue till you're blue in the face, but most people don't care. They live in pop culture, and pop culture says heavy distortion + aggressively delivered lyrics = metal. You can try and educate people, but really, like I've already said, for the vast majority they don't care enough to listen. Also, unrelated, I have to buy some stuff by The Kovenant soon. /relevant input into discussion

Avatar: Angsty goth looking dude smoking? Possibly you've got a morbid and dark disposition? In fact I know you do, cause I'm cheating. Muaha. It's a very nice avatar though, 10/10 for editting. Screenname: You're a goddess in your own eyes, and believe you deserve respect in all things. Sig: p+g... very sweet. A romantic gesture that totally undermines the rest of my superficial observations as to your avatar and screenname. You're a very sweet person. :)

Don't do it Tony, Baron is a pervert! Who knows what he'll use those photos for... though I suspect innocent reminiscing won't be part of it. -

Honestly what was the point of spamming up this thread?
Because watching metalheads argue over semantics is hilarious.
Interesting, most interesting. Unfortunately FlipHKD you can?t actually delete your own account OtakuBoards, as it?s a power available only to Administrators and used only as a severe punishment when simply banning isn?t an option. I suppose you could ask you one of the Staff to delete your account, but I remember last time this request came, James wasn?t all that for the idea of deleting someone?s account for them.
Gavin: In the world of OB, there is fates much worse than [strike]death[/strike] deletion... Sciros had it done for him. He just asked an admin. I suggest that's what you do, FlipHKD.

I think we should all just stop arguing and admit it - Limp Bizkit is the heaviest and best metal to ever be composed. Fred Durst says so!
