You know that usually when one sees something like this instead of whomever does 60 minutes you're watching Jerry Springer and the people have a much different accent.:animesigh Nice to know this doesn't only happen in the deep south. Except it kinda does since they live in Australia.Ya don't get much more south than that. Okay so now that I've said that I can avoid the whole warning about character limits when I sum this story up in one word: EW! Kai thanx bai!
Well then there's the issue of a wife with epilepsy not being able to afford her medication which is hilarious because my friend is on welfare AND has epilepsy and somehow manages to forego food he doesn't need to pay for his meds that he DOES need so he doesn't seizure and blank out while going bankai driving.
YEah I do have to laugh at that as well. My ex mother-in-law is on welfare and has epilepsy and not only can she afford her medication, she can also afford to buy cartons of cigarettes and cat food for her six cats. Of course she only weighs about 92lbs (can't quite convert that into kilograms or stones) and says she can't work due to the epilepsy and the rods in her back (which is bull since one of my cousins has a rod in her back and works her behind off) perhaps she's just too damn skinny to work. :animesigh I think it's sad that someone has to say that they can't afford to live on what is roughly 44K$ a year in USD. Okay I don't know much about the economy in England, but I assume that could make a dent in it if one person would get a job. I hardly make half of that and yet the government in New York says that I make too much to qualify for public assistance. They'd rather you try to sit on your butt and collect welfare instead of work and get some help. Bloody moronic government.:animeswea Okay so I'm no saint, I'm overweight and don't always eat right, but I also excersize either at the gym, with my daughter or while at work. So some of it is just pure laziness. Maybe that girl and her family should buy up 2 seats a peice on an English airways jet and cart themselves over to this side of the pond and join Biggest Loser Families. Seems they're a prime candidate for that show.

The Easter/Passover/Spring Break Thread!
ChibiHorsewoman replied to chibi-master's topic in General Discussion
Chibi 2 statistically speaking you've a better chance of your car crashing than your plane crashing. So at least you've that to look forward to :catgirl: No big deals for Spring break, I still have to work so I can get hours to get money and hours to save up for my vacationing. However Passover is a different story. I work per-diem at an assisted living community connected with The Jewish Home of Rochester's Jewish Senior Life program so about forty percent of our residents are Jewish (a few of them are from Europe and at least one of them survived the concentration camps) so the entire staff is going to be observing Passover while at work. This means that we can't bring our lunch in to work, the residents who keep candy in their apartments have to have it locked up, the vending machins in the breakrooms have to be emptied, the fridges have to be cleaned and all three kitchens (they have 3 kitchens there to make sure all the meals are Kosher)in the two buildings (full care and assisted living) have to be thouroughly cleaned and blessed by a Rabbi then the same Rabbi has to bless the dishwasher and the plates and such that they use in the kitchens for Passover. Since this will essentially be my first Passover I have to go to an inservice on Passover tomorrow morning. After that I will probably make a long post about Passover. Easter, now I've no idea. I still don't know where we're having it or if I'm working. I just know we'll have Ham and Lamb. -
Worst Food Service Experiences
ChibiHorsewoman replied to chibi-master's topic in General Discussion
First off I didn't even know we had Dairy Queen's up north. I've yet to see one up here. Second Oh man, the food service experiances... *sigh* Well you're not in fast food because you're the sharpest knife in the drawer, you're there to make money. Okay my worst ever Fast Food experiance was probably at the Tim Horton's near my daughter's babysitter. I'd stopped in there to get well... something and the one lady at the counter was actually over near the sandwhiches chatting on the phone. I stood over at the cash register and probably said excuse me four times before the girl- a bit younger than me wearing a lip ring which is a no no in food service- finally looks up and says in a very rude tone that I should shut up and be more patient. I told her I hope that after I call her manager she gets a lesson in customer service and then use my mobile to call the store manager's number. To make the story better the guy calls me back a few days later, not because of my complaint but because I'd put in an application at that Tim Horton's and they want to interview me. I said thanks, but no thanks because there's a good chance that if I worked at that location I may have to work with that girl again and I could end up punching her.:animeswea Another bad experiance was also at a Tim Horton's, I was between assignments and trying to get some lunch. I stood in line for like ten minutes before the idiot at the cash register finally tells me that he doesn't know how to work the credit card thing and even if he did it wasn't working today. Yeah I guess I should just stay away from Tim Horton's, but damn it all if they don't make good coffee. -
Spring break is a variable holiday Chibi (hint, hint). My St. Patties day ended up rather drab. Instead of kicking it at a local pub I ended up helping my fiancee study for her final today. I guess some things are more important....but did she have to pinch me after I offer to help?
Yeah, my Spring Break isn't until this September. Yes! This fall I get to have my first real vacation (holiday) in about 6 years! And Drizzt, she did have to pinch you if you weren't wearing green. It's the rules. :p Okay so now that St. Patrick's day is over, when is the Easter/Passover thread Chibi #2?

Hey ya'll Happy St. Patrick's day. Today is my friend Tom's brother's birthday- the kid is coincidentally named Patrick  Anyways it was supposed to be a happy St, Patrick's day for me because I was supoosed to work the 7-3 shift then have the afternoon (the gorgeaous 60 degrees (15C) and sunny afternoon) off to spend with my daughter. Unfortunately our original HCC quit and the LPN we have over from Buffalo is a bit of a stubborn old nag. Yeah, they even expected me to work Friday after I have a root canal :animesigh. So long story short I get to wear my shamrock socks and my Everybody Loves an Irish Girl t-shirt. (Too bad I don't have one like the one on my banner because that would kick butt!) and work with my resident director who really doesn't like me too much. :animeswea Ciede Mil File ya'll!

ChibiHorseWoman - You can't ever mistake her not simply because she always comes up with interesting topics in the lounge, but because she hasn't changed her font or color all this time. I have to share this now because I actually have the TV on. I'm watching Desperate Housewives and I can sum the series up in three words: Best Show EVER!
Desperate Housewives is an American television comedy-drama series, created by Marc Cherry, who also serves as show runner, and produced by ABC Studios and Cherry Productions. Executive producers, as of the fourth season, are Marc Cherry, Bob Daily, George W. Perkins, John Pardee and Joey Murphy, David Grossman, Larry Shaw and Sabrina Wind. The setting of the show is the street of Wisteria Lane in the fictional American town of Fairview, Eagle State. It follows the lives of a group of women, seen through the eyes of their dead neighbor, as they work through domestic struggles and family life, while facing the secrets, crimes and mysteries hidden behind the doors of their—at the surface—beautiful suburban neighborhood. The show features an ensemble cast, headed by Teri Hatcher as Susan Mayer, Felicity Huffman as Lynette Scavo, Marcia Cross as Bree Hodge, Eva Longoria Parker as Gabrielle Solis, Nicollette Sheridan as Edie Britt and, from season four onwards, Dana Delany as Katherine Mayfair. Brenda Strong narrates the show as the deceased Mary Alice Young. Since its premiere on ABC on October 3, 2004, the show has been well received by the critics as well as the audience. The show is a multiple Emmy, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild award winner, and in April 2007 it was reported to be the most popular show in its demographic worldwide, with an audience of approximately 115 to 119 million viewers
BUt yeah suffice it to say I like the show.

Chibi Tsk! Thirty-one times is child's play. When you listen about forty times then you can brag.
I did that with The Hand of Sorrow by Within Temptation.
Sorry I couldn't find an actual video but this one is pretty good. I'm listening to When God Feaing Women Get the Blues by Martina McBride. Love this song!! It's got this whole: 'Don't get me angry because I will get me a Mustang and drive it around town, run up all your credit cards and get the heck out of town leaving you with the bill, 'ya hear?' feel to it. Plus you can dance to it as well. I saw Martina McBride perform this live when she opened for Reba McIntyre at the Girls Night Out Concert tour in 2001. Oh and PS don't let the opening of the video fool you, this is really a music video not a news report
There's a statistic Chibi(horsewoman) that I can't quote off the top of my head, but I'm sure that at least one person on here as heard of it or knows it. It's an outrageous amount of people claim to have Irish blood, though actually don't have any. Mostly for the "joy of being Irish" I suppose. I know I'm some sort've super low number like an eighth Irish or something to that effect. Nothing worth saying "Hey I'm Irish" because there's too much other stuff watering me down. I'm a mutt and proud of it.
That statement was said in sarcasm and with the idea in mind of the Irish saying: There are two kinds of people in the world: The Irish and everyone who wishes they were Irish. Plus I'm mixed too Irish and first nation! And my daughter is a Heinz 57! Wee! But still, I'm proud of being both.

Students post videos of brawls online
ChibiHorsewoman replied to Rachmaninoff's topic in General Discussion
Such a true statement. People think the worlds going to hell...though not far fected, many things that the new generation does that is "evil" are things that were done before. I blame YouTube itself for allowing things like this. How far will the videos they allow to post go before somebody puts a stop to it. "YouTube takes a strong moral stance against Pornography" but yet some poor kid getting the hell beat out of him is okay.
I have to agree with you there. And seriously what did the people in those eras have that we don't now? Race riots and lynchings which were broadcast on national and international TV. Seems some hstorians or whatever need to look again at history. And I blame youtube as well. I wonder if we could start a petition to get this banned. Hey it';s a thought. -
According to my co-worker Shalisa I'm a Big to the 10th power (actually she said big like ten times so I started smacking her on the back) klutz. Friday right before lunch in the rush to get the drinks out I dumped an entire pitcher of lemonade on the floor. Then there was the time I fell on the floor face first. What had happened there was a bell going off meaning one of the residents was hitting the door and one of my other co-workers (Ed) and I were coming in from outside and the ground was slippery. So I heard where the person was trying to get out and started running that way on the linolium and took like 3 running steps then went flying foreward. I hit my head and my left elbow and my left hip and Ed kept being like are you okay do you need to get sent out? I finally sat up and told him that the only reason I was still on the ground was b/c I was laughing too hard to get up. :animeswea Yeah I'm pretty bad. IF we keep this thread up there will be more emberassing stories.

Oh man I cannot believe I forgot this guy but Linkin Park Otaku... okay that was his YIM name and now I call him Will... I forgot his Screen name on here :animesigh but he's in the Air Force. Actually now he's a daddy! But yeah I talk to him every once in a while on YIM. And yeah since right now I can't think of his name I guess I can believe that I forgot about him. Poor guy.

I am currently watching the chat iwndows on my computer screen. I've got my friend in Alberta talking about random things my boyfriend in British Columbia talking about his dad's job situation. My friend Stationed in Northern Iraq talking about how he can't bring himself to tell his girlfriend that 7 out of every 10 soldiers killed in Iraq are killed at his FOB then switching to country music discussions. My friend from work talking about our kids and birthday parties. ANd for about three minutes I was talking to Japan about how we found the OB (Slimey yet satisfying) I'm also looking out my mom's office window for the mail to come. No I am not being a pest nor am I at my mom's work. My mom's training in Texas and I don't work til 3pm EST so I'm sitting in her office on the computer looking out the window- facing the front of the house and I-390 way in the back of the houses across the street. waiting for the mail to come since I have one more thing that I ordered for my boyfriend's birthday. So yeah no movies, or TV shows but I should try to watch Life On Mars later, I need to watch the ep from last week before this week's ep. And I also have to catch up on Desperate Housewives because I think someone got stabbed. And Nicolette Sheridan's character was supposed to be leaving since she's leaving the show.

Sounds like fun. I really should try to have a social life, but I don't :animeswea so I'm usually in and online around that time. So yeah I'll be there.
He-man .:)
I watched both He-Man and She Ra and liked them both when I was younger. It's funny though that they shows you loved when you were about six or seven drive you up a wall twenty years later. Like when my friend bought me the She-Ra box set for my birthday a few years ago and I had trouble watching it because I was so focused on the fact that no one was wearing pants! Don't ask me why I focused on that, but it was the main focus. The fact that no one had pants! I started to wonder if it chafed when they rode horses. Yeah I am that bad. :animeswea Moving on... Animaniacs. I need to buy those DVDs! Maybe next month I'll do that or I'll just ask someone for them for my birthday. My brother and I used to bug the heck out of eachother quoting the show. Jem and the Holograms I can't help but wish that they'd do a new version of this show because the old one is just so dated. But Hannah Montana/ Miley Cyrus has nothing on Jem/ Jerrica Benton and the Holograms. At least in my humble opinion.
Awesome, CHW, but we actually had a thread for this one already. :p So I'll just plop you over there. Hopefully I'll be hitting my third Asimov this week.
*Shrug* I don't really need one day to make me appreciate a culture I live in every day.
I think I have to agree with Gavin here. I don't need a dead guy's feast day to remind me to have pride in my heritage. While I don't live in Ireland I do live in my culture every day. Well most of the time. For one thing I wear a name tag for my jobs and my first and last name are both of Irish origin. I'm pretty obsessed with being Irish- I can tell you the name meaning of my surname. On the 17th of March I just wear green and wonder how many people wish they were Irish.

Man another thread by me, Chibi Horsewoman. I think I need a life... and to go make my bed and get ready for work. But before I do I will make a new thread. This one was all because of the What did you want to be when you grew up thread (shameless plug) and mentioning a show I watched in the eighties. Because let's just face it I'm from the eighties. So now I'm wondering what shows did you like to watch when you were little and growing up. As you all know I liked to watch Rainbow Bright. Sadly I don't remember why or much about the show even though I did see it a few years ago and could probably find it on youtube because that's how I watch Jem and the Holograms. Which I will get into later. Yeah craptastic first post. I'm off to read and get ready to go to hell... I mean work. :animeswea

Quotes: The silly, the strange and the questionable
ChibiHorsewoman replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in General Discussion
I have just one thing to add to this since people are forever mistaking my dog for poodle... Seriously... She's a BICHON. Get it right! Poodles are hyperactive little pain in the butt yip dogs! Bichon's on the other hand... RULE! :D *cough* ANYWAY... I wonder if other dogs think poodles are members of a weird religious cult. ~Rita Rudner HA! XD
Two things: 1.) When I get Yorkie ( in like two years after I wear my boyfriend down about how I want one and small dogs aren't that bad) it will PWN your Bichon (but I will admit Bichon's are cute. One of my friends had one and we called it a Bichon Frizzy because its fur got all weird in the humidity) 2.) Your quote is very funny. And from the look on my brother's dog when ever you walk him by a poodle, it's definately a fact. However not all poodles are insane yip dogs. A co-worker and a resident's daughter both have poodles that they bring in and although the resident's daughter's dog does run around like she's on an expresso fix, they aren't all that annoying. That said new quotes: Ex Mom in law: Half brother, what do you mean? They have the same father. Me: Yeah, but I'm her mom. They have different mother's. Ex mom in law: Still, I don't get it. Yeah that much was obvious. *shakes head* Yeah I know I sound like an outright Beyotch, but my daughter's step mom keeps trying to have my daughter call her mom and tells my daughter that her kids are her full siblings. So in that effect I feel I'm in my right to clarify when it comes to relations. Major Wickham: Would you like to jump out of a plane? 2dLt Walford Michaelson: I suppose, if I had a parachute This was a funny line from one of the guys who was in the Black Devil's Brigade. I just figured I'd share it. Going into battle, 'bout to pitch a fit. Lord if you listenin' get me out this ****- Peewee Gates from Fallen Angels by Walter Dean Meyers. Great fiction book on the Vietnam War. I highly recommend reading it. There's some swearing and some bloody bits, but it's a great book.
Meggy (3/9/2009 12:29:44 AM): A girl should not refer to herself as dude! Mama! Angel (3/9/2009 12:29:52 AM): LOL Meggy (3/9/2009 12:30:38 AM): Welcome poor man to our world of crap! Angel (3/9/2009 12:31:03 AM): *shakes head* You're finding Ouran clips on Youtube again huh Meggy (3/9/2009 12:31:24 AM): out takes rock! Angel (3/9/2009 12:31:32 AM): DUH Angel (3/9/2009 12:31:40 AM): I've been saying that for MONTHS Meggy (3/9/2009 12:31:44 AM): *head desk* Meggy (3/9/2009 12:31:50 AM): I know Meggy (3/9/2009 12:31:54 AM): I have finally seen the light Angel (3/9/2009 12:32:01 AM): Nobody ever believes me... Meggy (3/9/2009 12:32:31 AM): I believe you Meggy (3/9/2009 12:32:36 AM): *hug* I do! Meggy (3/9/2009 12:32:41 AM): I BELIEVE!! I BELIEVE!! Meggy (3/9/2009 12:32:52 AM): AMen Halleilujah I believe! Angel (3/9/2009 12:33:21 AM): AH she's going CHURCHY on me~
Yeah that one was a little long, but it was a really fun incident last night scaring one of my friends. I should do it more often. If only to be evil about the whole thing. And I didn't know that Churchy was a word. You learn something new every day. People begin their lives at once when they learn to live for something other than themselves- I think that was Einstein, but I'm not sure. BUt I liked the quote and I think it's true because before you find someone or something that means more to you than yourself it's a sign that you've grown as a person. Okay now seriously I still have things to do. -
Just browsing through the forums and I figured I'd give this one a shot. So today I got one of the books I'd ordered for my boyfriend in the mail and I started reading it . Then I decided to just go and make a thread asking peopel what they're reading and what they've read. Because who knows what you could end up looking through that someone else hasn't heard of and may want to read too. Also explaining why you picked up the book and a little of what it's about would be nice too. So anyways I'll start (as is usually the protocal for when you start a thread :animesigh) Right now I am flipping through and looking at The Black Devil Brigade; The True Story of the First Special Service Force by Joseph A. Springer The book is an oral history of the men from the Devil's Brigade (Black Devil's Brigade) which was made up of men from the US and Canadian Army. Since I haven't really started reading it for real I can't give an accurate description of the book. But the reason I picked this one up and started thumbing through it is mostly because it's sitting next to me. Then because my boyfriend is really into World War Two history (and a little upset that the Canadian military doesn't get enough recognition, but he's Canadian so that could be why) and I figured he'd like this book for his birthday. So far it looks very interesting and I'm glad I don't have to ship it out until near the end of the month. Okay so now I'm off to read and get ready for work. The rest of you can hopefully reply to this thread.

Well I have my playlist on scramble while I write and chat so right now it's on (don't laugh) Morning Glory by Be for U. My friend got me on to the song... which my daughter refers to as a chipmunk song she says the same about Honey Punch which is by the same band. In my car is another mixed CD right now although I do have Taylor Swift's new CD but I haven't gotten around to listening to it yet.

Intelligent and witty conversation of course. I can't think of a better reason than that.
