What TV shows did you watch as a kid?
ChibiHorsewoman replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in Noosphere
I actually remember playing power rangers. I was the yellow ranger just because the pink ranger seemed too happy all the time. Now that I think about it, they were all too happy all the time. Oh, another one nobody has mentioned yet is Animaniacs. I loved Animaniacs. But it was so strange. Yakko had pants but no shirt, Wakko had a shirt and a hat, but no pants and Dot had a skirt but still no shirt. That was the funniest show ever on TV I really miss it. I can't decide if I liked the songs or some of the skits better. One of the best tho was when they played Little old Lady from Pasedena and had Slappy Squirell driving like a maniac. Oh, and the time she was at Woodstock. There just are no good shows any more, I wish they'd bring some of the old ones back. Even the Chipmunks would be an improvement. Can someone please explain how a human ends up adopting 3 talking singing rodents? And why they're all boys but wear dresses? Nobody else, except for the Chipettes is a talking animal. And no other guy wears a dress. Go figure. Okay I have to go watch SailorMoon then go to bed now. -

I'll probably get in some kind of trouble for this, but here are my next ideas for reality TV Who wants to marry my Hygenically challenged, crazy mother? Sort of like Who wants to marry my dad? but the woman up for grabs hasn't had a shower in a few months and her only toothbrush is in its original packaging. Infact, I don't think they make the brand of toothbrush anymore. The 'winner' gets to spend a week in a padded cell with the woman to try and see if he realy wants to go through with the whole ordeal. Married by the Mofia Exactly what it sounds like. We get some mofia people together and have them chose a guy to marry our chosen woman. Added bonus, there won't be any of that uncompatibility after the show is over because if the guy doesn't marry the girl, he gets a pair of cement shoes and some sleep with the fishes. Last American action Idol standing Even more painful than next action star. Even more nasty tasting than fear factor. And even more grueling than Survivor. Contestants must do dangerous stunts, eat nasty food, sing, and build their own shelter out of whatever materials they can find. All in the space of a few hours. Winner, or last person to be standing on his or her own two feet gets a million dollars and a recording contract. Well, that's all we have for today, tune in next week when I come up with a theme for Who wants to be president.
Well the Supreme Court just found in favor of your statement. Also, don't take the Geneva Convention as the word of god. There's quite a few things in there that everyone breaks.
Actually the supreme court descsion was that the detainies would be allowed to seek justice under the United States Judicial system, not international law. They determined that a person cannot be held indefinately without a trial. As for holding the Geneva Conventions as the word of God (or whomever) the way I see it is they're basically guidelines. But You can't just go along making up your own rules because someone else keeps breaking them or you don't like how the rules are set up. That's what I felt Bush was doing with Guantanimo and what he may also be tryingto do in Afghanistan.

Do your parents make you do everything!?
ChibiHorsewoman replied to mononoke_man's topic in General Discussion
My sister has a son who's almost 3 years old, and she'll never watch him. She always has to go somewhere, and either me or my mother will have to babysit. When she's home she lets him run around and ruin the house. Then she won't even clean up after him. She says she can't afford a babysitter, but that's because she's always spending her money by going out with her friends. She's 21 years old and still can't spend her money wisely. She always wants me to get something for her or her son, even if I'm in a hurry or I'm in the middle of something, when she's perfectly capable of getting it herself. If I say no, she'll beg and whine like a 5 year old until I say yes. Sometimes if I say I won't babysit, she'll just leave her son and go out anyway, knowing that I'll babysit him.
I know this is completely off the original topic, but why don't your parents try to get custody of their grandchild since your sister obviously does nothing for her son but try to go out and party. I'm 22 almost 23 and I still have some trouble saving my money, but I know enough to pay my bills first before I go out with my friends. I also understand that with being a parent comes responsibility and it sounds from this post that your sister didn't think about that when she was 17 and now at 21 with her parents taking responsibility of her child she'll never learn. Maybe you should just get up and leave the house when she comes around looking for you to watch her son. That way if she leaves her 3 year old un supervised she can get in trouble for parental neglect and she can find out what it's liek to be grown up the hard way. But that's just one person's opinion. ONe of my cousins lost custody of her daughter to her parents for the same reasons. And she may just be turning around now. Maybe it would work for your sister. -

WWE The Great American Bash: Worse. PPV. EVER!

This is exactly why I don't pay extra to watch shows on TV. Especially wrestling. Why bother they'll just show the high lights on MOnday. Everyone knows that. Besides, what would be the point, all I'd do is add commentary to those guy's boring speeches -

If you were a evil megalomaniac villian. Super or otherwise.
ChibiHorsewoman replied to Rei_Man's topic in General Discussion
I wouldn't make a very good tyrant, I'm not quite evil enough. Anyway, my way to take over the world would be quite quick and painless since I watched Pinky and the Brain on Animaniacs. First, I'd try to become president. I'd make very good speeches and justify my ideas with hypnotism. If the first plan didn't work, I'd make up some kind of device which would reek havock on people's sinuses. Why the sinuses you ask? Have you ever had such a bad sinus infection you just wanted to chop your own head off? Or a migrain. I'm not sure what causes migrains, but I know they're worse than sinus head aches since I've had both. This plan probably has the best chance of succeeding because people would be in too much pain and nausea to resist me. Besides I'd promise to give everyone teh cure once I was seated in power. I find that I'd be a fair and just ruler since I'd legallize all sorts of things that our government doesn't allow. I haven't decided my take on capital punishment yet, but I find that public humiliation could do the trick as well as a night in jail. Yes sir, stick a person in the stocks with a posterboard saying what they did and watch the produce fly! -

Anime Battle of the Pairings (Canon/Yaoi/Yuri/Cross-Series etc)
ChibiHorsewoman replied to Patronus's topic in Otaku Central
Has anyone besides me had the strange idea of pairing InuYasha with Miroku then seeing what would happen? I mean I know it never could work out very well infact I think it would end up in the thread involving anime divorce, but I still think it's an interesting concept that not many people have thought of. Now if I could only figure out why I thought of the whole idea, I think I'd be all set. Another one of my twisted pairings would be Koga and Kikyo. Hey, it could happen right? After all, Kagome is nothing but Kikyo's reincarnation and Koga isn't all that bad right? So, you just put two and two together and poof, instant couple. A really strange one would be Relena (Whatever her last name is at this time) From Gundam Wing and maybe Chichiri from Fushigi Yugi. She's a strong woman, he's a really cool monk, And if she annoys him he can always dissapear inside his kasa. Plus, I think Chichiri really deserves a chance at happiness -
Your vary name suggests a pathetic immaturity that completely surpasses the Queen of Idiocy, the CHW.
Normaly I wouldn't respond to something like this, but my character has been insulted. I'm not sure how to respond to this sort of childish name calling except to point out that I've responded directly to your posts pleanty of times and have yet to find a hint of logic in anything you've posted. Nor have you come back to argue your stand effectively like other people have. I don't agree with your points of view, but I don't regress to name calling .
Don't you realize that they have found million and millions of pounds of warheads, armaments, and biological delivery weapons in iraq? (I will post citation of the article as soon as I find it again)
Like my mom said when she read your post. Where? I've been reading the paper, watching five different local news stations plus CNN, MSNBC and Fox news and looking online to find out if Bush may have been telling the truth. Big surprise, he's been lying since March 2003. People are being killed over there for a lie. How does that make you feel?
Do you care about the United States at all? If your answer is no, get the **** out of my country.
IF this was indeed your country I would get out of it, then request an air assult on your country to stop the stupidity. However, this isn't your country. This country has this novel idea of freedom of speech, which is why you're allowed to make assinine statements about people you know nothing about and other people are allowed to not want someone elected as president because they feel that he has done a poor job the past four years he was in office. Like my US History teacher said: I may not agree with what you say, but I'll let you say it. So unDefeated think of that the next time you get some idea that you're going to call someone immature for their thoughts on a subject. Well, that's said and done with, next order of business: I'm finding myself leaning more and more towards voting for Kerry based on quite a few things that have been brought to my attention. 1.) Refusal to grant POWs protection under the Geneva Conventions by Bush's cabinet namely Donald Rumsfeld. It is my firm belief that no country, no matter how powerful it thinks it may be, should be allowed to adjust international laws to fit their tastes. 2.) We were lead into this failing war on terror by lies and deceit. That hasn't changed yet. We've lost over 800 people since the beginning of this war. Today I learned from my husband that a guy in his unit got hit in the face with an RPG (Rocket Propelled Grenade. people don't get hit with Role playijng games) And for what? An ill conceived plan to force a person's ideals on a country which hates us. I've lost faith in my government pretty much. I don't care about surplus deficit or economic gains. My main focus for the next presidential candidate will be one that gets my husband out of that hell hole. Don't tell me I should or shouldn't feel a certain way towards Bush because the truth is, I have a pretty good reason to hate him. Because of his war mongering, someone I love very much is in danger pretty much every day and I haven't seen him since February. Now, unless something ground breaking comes along, I'm going to take Death Bug's lead and take a hiatus on this topic

Aside from the obvious things like having a job, a kid and a few other outlets to bide my time with I don't see how being or not being a college student would affect my OB time any more than it already is. I know come the end of September until I actually figure out how to do a schedual will be a bit of a hassle, but other than that, look forward to the same biting reality that comes with the political posts and the comic relief that I dole out the rest of teh time.

Article 4 A. Prisoners of war, in the sense of the present Convention, are persons belonging to one of the following categories, who have fallen into the power of the enemy: 1. Members of the armed forces of a Party to the conflict as well as members of militias or volunteer corps forming part of such armed forces. 2. Members of other militias and members of other volunteer corps, including those of organized resistance movements, belonging to a Party to the conflict and operating in or outside their own territory, even if this territory is occupied, provided that such militias or volunteer corps, including such organized resistance movements, fulfil the following conditions: (a) That of being commanded by a person responsible for his subordinates; (b) That of having a fixed distinctive sign recognizable at a distance; (c) That of carrying arms openly; (d) That of conducting their operations in accordance with the laws and customs of war. 3. Members of regular armed forces who profess allegiance to a government or an authority not recognized by the Detaining Power. 4. Persons who accompany the armed forces without actually being members thereof, such as civilian members of military aircraft crews, war correspondents, supply contractors, members of labour units or of services responsible for the welfare of the armed forces, provided that they have received authorization from the armed forces which they accompany, who shall provide them for that purpose with an identity card similar to the annexed model. 5. Members of crews, including masters, pilots and apprentices, of the merchant marine and the crews of civil aircraft of the Parties to the conflict, who do not benefit by more favourable treatment under any other provisions of international law. 6. Inhabitants of a non-occupied territory, who on the approach of the enemy spontaneously take up arms to resist the invading forces, without having had time to form themselves into regular armed units, provided they carry arms openly and respect the laws and customs of war. B. The following shall likewise be treated as prisoners of war under the present Convention: 1. Persons belonging, or having belonged, to the armed forces of the occupied country, if the occupying Power considers it necessary by reason of such allegiance to intern them, even though it has originally liberated them while hostilities were going on outside the territory it occupies, in particular where such persons have made an unsuccessful attempt to rejoin the armed forces to which they belong and which are engaged in combat, or where they fail to comply with a summons made to them with a view to internment. 2. The persons belonging to one of the categories enumerated in the present Article, who have been received by neutral or non-belligerent Powers on their territory and whom these Powers are required to intern under international law, without prejudice to any more favourable treatment which these Powers may choose to give and with the exception of Articles 8, 10, 15, 30, fifth paragraph, 58-67, 92, 126 and, where diplomatic relations exist between the Parties to the conflict and the neutral or non-belligerent Power concerned, those Articles concerning the Protecting Power. Where such diplomatic relations exist, the Parties to a conflict on whom these persons depend shall be allowed to perform towards them the functions of a Protecting Power as provided in the present Convention, without prejudice to the functions which these Parties normally exercise in conformity with diplomatic and consular usage and treaties. C. This Article shall in no way affect the status of medical personnel and chaplains as provided for in Article 33 of the present Convention.
To read more click on this hyperlink: http://www.unhchr.ch/html/menu3/b/91.htm The above is an excerpt from the Geneva conventions which have been in place since the 21 of October 1950. However BUsh and his people have declared that these conditions can not be applied to the POWs being held at Guantanimo Bay since 2002 because they 'represent no nation or formally organized military organization.' That said these POWs are detained indefinately without the hope of a trial by the military or even a civilian court judge to find out if they are or are not guilty of plotting against the United States and its interests. Also, with these POWs being denied protection under the Geneva Conventions the guards are allowed to tourture them to obtain information, something which is forbidden under the Geneva Convetions. My question is do you think it's right for a country which prides itself on the concept of innocent until provent guilty and Justice and equality for all to consider withholding international laws? Furthermore, do you think that it's even possible for one person or one country to skirt around international law to fit its own purposes? Then turn around and be alarmed to find out cry against its administration? In my opinion Bush is asking for trouble by attempting to re-work the Geneva Conventions to suit his own purposes. Not only for himself and the possibility of his reelection. But for our men and women over seas.

Define near. Because there are two amusement parks in my area in about a 30 to 90 minute drive. The closer one is SeaBreeze. It's a rather old (125 years this year) amusement park near Irondiquiote bay. They have this 90 year old wooden rollercoaster called the Jack Rabbit. They used to have this old carosel too, all hand carved and everything. But there was a fire there back in '94 i think and the Carosel burned down. There's also a train that goes through most of the park. And a water park. This year they've also gotten a few new rides. I haven't been there in almost 4 years, infact the last time i went was when I tried to hook Becky up with Lincoln and my ex almost puked on her because he got sick on the tilt-a-whirl. Now there's a memory! The other one is Six flags Darien Lake. It used to be just Darien Lake, but then a few years ago they changed it. The most remarkable thing about Darien Lake is probably the Ferris Wheel which is pretty much the first thing you see when you come up the last road to the park. Or atleast it was the first thing until the Superman ride of Steel. Darien Lake has this ride called the sky coaster which is basically a bungee jump where you and three of your friends can fly over the park and the pond where innocent people who have rented paddle boats are paddling around. They also have four other rollercoasters (excluding the Superman which is shut down this year) including the Boomerang which flings you back and forth. The predator which gives you whiplash the Viper (first one I ever went on) and a suspended one that I can't remember the name of right now. Of course there's a waterpark which is included in the park and Grizzly run which is this raft ride that gets you soaked no matter what you try. Darien Lake also has an onsite hotel, two swimming pools and a camp ground. Their end of season event is the halloween thing at the end of October. I may be able to go to that this year. Finally, about a four hour drive East is Valley Forge in the Letherstocking region of the Adirondacks. But I've never been there, so I can't really say what's there. However, next year I plan on going to SeaBreeze and Darien Lake about three times. Maybe I'll even make it out to Valley forge.

Has your mom tried to leave at all? That would probably be the best for her. She could either go to a family member's house a YWCA or some women's shelter. Doing that is for her own good. You mentioned that your dad is cheating on her. I don't know what your religion says about things like that, but I think that would be grounds for a divorce. It doesn't matter hwo long you've known him or that he 'claims' to be 'born again'. My mother-in-law knew my husband's father for ten years and he beat the crap out of her, does that make a difference? A girl I knew in Texas had been with her husband for a while too, but she didn't hesitate to move back to Germany with some of her family when he got too possesive. Hell, there have been pleanty of killers who claimed to be Christian to, so what about that? If he lays a hand on her, I would call the police. But I'd make sure they did something like put him in Jail for the night where he belongs or get you and your mom and some siblings to a safe house. You said your father or whatever, had been in jail before, obviously he didn't learn his lesson last time around. I'm not to sure what else to add to this piece of advice. Except try to convince your mom to leave the guy. She should probably seek some legal advice if she plans on doing that. You know, incase they co-signed on a house, or both of them share payments on other things/ She should also consider opening a private savings account incase he tries to take money out of a joint account they may already have. That's all I have to say, and don't ask how I came by all that advice.

I'm into people with a sense of humor, but that's just me. I really love cross country jumping, it's one of my biggest obsessions since I learned right after Christopher Reeves had his accident. Nice timing huh? I find the jumps to be an exhileration much like flying, or driving about 95 MPH down a practically deserted back road in Texas (which I've done  ) Out of the activities I can't partake in because of my pregnancy, that's the thing i miss the most. I can't wait until my six week appointment when my doctor tells me if I can start back up or not. I know some of you may think I sound a bit selfish since it was my idea to get pregnant, but in all fairness, I missed out on an entire year in Texas so I think I can still morn the loss of my riding for seven months or so. I also like to ride my bike along the bike paths on the Erie Canal. I plan to take that back up as soon as I can. I can't do it right now because both my doctor and my best friend say I'll lose my balance. And my husband is a bundle of nerves about the baby. Oh and amusement parks like SIx Flags. I love the rollercoasters! What I can do right now that I enjoy is write off beat fanfiction. With strange topics like Trowa Barton from Gundam Wing wearing a school uniform from T*A school for girls because he has to protect Hino Rei from SailorMoon. Go figure. I can also feign insanity and I like to offer my input on different topics. All and all I'm generally a crazy person who's fun to be around. At least in my personal opinion.
