I started reading Mars when I got an issue of Smile back in July 2002 (or maybe earlier) the whole story line looked rather interesting. I've only read 1-9, but there are 15 actual novels. The story is fast paced and a bit deep. I don't really have a favorite character from there, but Kira does seem to make the biggest change in character throughout the story. So, what are everyone else's thoughts on this manga?
Also, the deceased wasn't just suicidal/depressed. Apparently he let the cannibal slice off part of his body and they both ate it together, before the cannibal killed him. At least, that's what I heard on the news. So, based on that...I don't have a huge amount of sympathy for either person. They were obviously both completely crazy.
I really didn't need to hear that James! Okay, as for a real post: PETA's probably going to use this to say hey, if you eat people, why not animels? Or maybe it'll be the other way around. Yes, there are tribes in countries around the world who probably eat their prisoners, but that's their tradition. Which is most likely why it's not on the news. Most people don't go around eating other people and having it video taped. For that matter, most people also don't ask to be eatten and take a bite out of themselves in the process. It's not only not socialy acceptable, it's also disturbing in a modern society. Sure, kids shooting kids in the face is common place, but I doubt anyone eats their shooting victims. Just for a bit of history, during WW2, the Japanese army did eat some of their POWs.
I started studying Celtic magick after the Celtic mythology unit in my English class. Sad, but true. If you would like an author who writes wonderful books. Silver Ravenwolf.

The only reason Justin did it was to prove that he was really on stage with Janet Jackson and not Michael Jackson. That said and done, I think people have been giving this whole episode a bit too much attention. Honestly, this has gotten more media attention than the Super Bowl. The Patriots won their second Super Bowl ever, but all that everyone will remember is that on the Second of February, 2004 Janet Jackson along with Justin Timberlake got together to flash America. As for the parents complaining about the indescent exposure-excuse me, but that was a school night and wasn't the Super Bowl on until about 9:30 in the EST? If you're so worried about your young children being exposed to indescent sights, maybe you should put them to bed at a descent time. You're the parent, not them. Don't say that the kid doesn't want to go to bed, make them. Okay, I'll give up my soap box to someone else now. So long!

Well, his music definately bites, and that's really all I can say on this subject. Since I can't seem to force myself to listen to bad music even for the sake of an educated reply. I can also picture this news brief this summer: Fifty cent was gunned down today by new commer $2.75. $2.75 then proceeded to rob fifty for $5.00. Full story at 11:00. Yes, that was probably in bad taste, but can you really blame me?

I don't know if this really qualifies as much of an accomplishment since so many women can do it, but I'm really happy about it so I'll just say it: I'm pregnant, I think that could be some kind of accomplishment. Of course if after the parents this child has said child doesn't grow up seriously despising me and seriously twisted I'll consider it a real accomplishment. Other than that, I really can't say too much else about my accomplishments. I never finish anything I've started. I dropped out of college and I almost had to repeat 12th grade. Of course, I've probably accomplished more than any of my classmates thought I would. So I guess perhaps that could be an accomplishment of being better than anyone else thought I could. Which is nice and now I can't wait for my 10 year reunion-even if I disliked most of my class. Oh wait, I know an actual accomplishment that I thought was pretty cool. My first ritual that I did on my own! Yes, that was one big achievement even if I did switch the sun and moon's genders.
Originally posted by AzureWolf I've got a really cool Celtic Font on my computer. Is that part of the practice? If so, that'd be really cool if you could learn that. You'd probably win handwriting awards for it if you could (and if there were handwriting awards). I like the Celtic Font.
If I had a Catholic Font on my computer I doubt that would have anything to do with the Catholic faith. Ah well. Sorry, but I had to say something! Okay, now with that said and done, I can get on to the real subject: I follow an ecclectic path which as you know basically means I pull whatever traditions I like the most and use them. So I really can't help you and your brother too much in that respect. Like Oshi said, the path of Celtic magick is full of traditions. Have you studied on other traditions and decided that this one is right for you? Or does someone in your family also folloow the Celtic path? If the later is the case then maybe you can ask that relative for some help. The best advice I can give as an Ecclectic witch is try your local occult shop and see if they have any books on the Celtic path or traditions. I really can't think on any titles at the moment tho. If you don't have an occult shop near you, or your occult shop doesn't carry books on your tradition you could try a local bookstore such as Barnes and Noble, Walden Books or, Borders. There's a good chance of finding something in the New Age section of these bookstores. Well, that's about all the help I can give. Blessed Be- Chibi Horsewoman

Well, let's see, I'm going to be watching my aunt's dog this weekend so...uh, I'll feed her dog and go to Buffalo. I'm a very exciting person with a very exciting life. I may even watch the Anime on Demand channel that night and see if my husband will call me! Wow, don't you all wish you could have my exciting life? Oh, did I mention the dog? I get to play ball with the dog! Of course, the day after I'll buy half priced chocolate!
Originally posted by Milo Glad your surgery went well! Mine come out next week. I'm extremely nervous, for no good reason. I KNOW I'll be knocked out, completely drugged. Won't feel a thing. Yet...still. You know how it is. Your story eases my fears slightly. :( I said slightly.
Lucky you, you get to be knocked out. all I got was novacain because my insurance wouldn't cover nitris oxide Damn them all! I hope you've decided to get them all taken out at once instead of two then two or whatever because it's easier to get them all out of the way at once-mostly for you. OOh, the pain after the first stuff wears out is not fun at all. Luckily tho, you get Tylonal with codine which is one of the best inventions ever:wigout: Also, your face puffs out for a few days and you look like a chipmunk. Just remember, no bending over, no drinking thru a straw and no spitting. When you brush your teeth, let the toothpaste dribble out of your mouth, Not a pretty sight, but something to keep in mind so you don't get a dry socket. Oh, and most people can't eat solid food for a few days. Get yourself some pudding, baby food and applesauce! Of course, I got mine taken out on a Saturday and was carefully eatting chicken wings on Wednesday, but I was so desperate that Monday I tried to cut up a Twizzler and eat it so what do you want from me? For the record tho, I got mine taken out in April 2001, All 4 of them, and they made a really unpleasent crunch pleasent crunch when it happened. But on the bright side, I was all over the pain on Sunday, but had to miss my riding lesson-wait that was teh bright side?? Dammit! Ah well, good luck!

A question for the ladies: Chivalry
ChibiHorsewoman replied to DeathBug's topic in General Discussion
Originally posted by Milo But I believe chivalry is dead/dying out. At least in my school, even the more "mature" boys in our school are real jerks to girls, using impossibly pathetic intimidation methods. Seeing guys do this makes me ill. Also makes me want to trip them down a flight of stairs, but that's 'sides the point, isn't it? :p
Sounds fun, can I help? Most of the guys around my age have gotten over the ape phase of their puberty (atleast the ones I hang out with-which may not count since one of them is gay one is dating my best friend and the rest are married ) and treat woman with respect since if they didn't they wouldn't get any. Okay, that was wrong, but true. Of course, I know that my best friend's boyfriend's idea of chivalry is changing a dirty diaper, but hey, sometimes you really can't argue with a thing like that.:whoops: -
Originally posted by Milo Is there anyone out there who ENJOYS washing dishes?? (Doubtful.)
Oh, I love washing dishes. I love washing dishes about as much as I love changing diapers! Let me tell you! I've said what my first job was-my brother's was slightly better. He worked in the Seafood department at Tops. Every night when he went to his girlfriend's house, her cat wouldn't leave him alone. Everyone else would leave him alone, but not the cat!:rotflmao: Go figure!

I think I completely missed the point of this post. Could you possibly run that by me again. You know in a manner that wouldn't get this topic shut down, like it will be.

What's your opinion on Valentine's day?
ChibiHorsewoman replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in General Discussion
Originally posted by Swordsaint Hey! I'm a guy! I Remember Valentines day! I started planning for it last week for my girlfriend. *Does the victory dance* I'm all set for it! Sorry, but not all men forget about things like valentines day. And no I'm not refering to gay guys. Straight men remember things like that too.
Saint, you are one of the few men who remembers V-day without help. My husband remebers too tho. Last year he took me to dinner and a movie. The other two times he sent me a card and tried to call me. I think I'll probably get a call this Saturday, maybe a card. I'm gonna send him an email and try to get ahold of him tonight tho. As for actual things being done this 14, February 2004. I'm going horseback riding (jumping, using a crop so I show my love for PETA!) I'm bringing the horse heart shaped snacks. After that I'm going to Buffalo with my mom. Then I'll make my friend's hang out with me, even if Tommee did find a guy who'll give him a free tan! 15.Feb, 2004-Chibi Horsewoman takes all the 1/2 priced chocolate from Wegmans for herself:laugh: -
Originally posted by Rockstar Haruko Do some of the people in Germany actually eat other people? If so, this was a mystery to me.
There were a few German exchange students in my high school, but none of them ever expressed a desire to eat any of the student body. This may sound cynical, but I don't believe any of this ever happened in the first place. WHat person in their right mind would volunteer to be eaten by another person in the first place? And second, what sane person would take someone up on this offer? Something like that just doesn't sound logical.

I never had a week long school vacation because of snow, but back when I was in 4th grade we had an ice storm and they closed the schools for a week. The downside was that our cable went out, people lost power heat and phone service and my 89 year old aunt stayed with us for the week:eek: Also we couldn't go anywhere. But it did warm up by the end of the week and we got our cable back on Wednesday. And we didn't lose any other service. Also, I didn't kill my brother!
Originally posted by Heezay Can you imagine a terrorist listening to Jay-Z while waiting to sniper someone?
I think the terrorist would off him or herself instead of the people if they ended up listening to Jay-Z. That makes me want to add, maybe they MP3s will only record bad music with hidden messages that makes them want to off themselves. This is quite possibly one of the strangest ideas I've ever heard of-and now I keep having these images of people trying to switch tracks in their MP3s and shooting themselves in the head instead which is probably why this whole idea will never go over.

First I have to say that I love Watase Yu's work. Fushigi Yugi was my third anime ever and I enjoyed every minute of that. Even when it started to get a bit well-dark.
Nuriko dies!!!!!:bawl:
Ayashi no Ceres (which kinda translates to Premonition of Ceres) or Ceres the Celestrial Legend) Is quite dark from the beginning which starts out with that mummified hand and Aki getting wounded. Then the rest of the Makage family starts to hunt down Aya. (I know I can say this w/o spoilers because this is in the first episodes and parts of the manga) My only greivence with the dub and the translated manga is how they traded the famous Japanese pop stars for famous American pop stars. Aya can't seem to decide if she's J-Lo or Jessica and I'd rather they stuck to the original singers. The plot of Ayashi no Ceres is much deeper than Fushigi Yugi in my opinion and everything is a lot darker from the get go. I can't really say much about the anime since I only saw 3 dubbed episodes, But I've read a it of the manga and there's some seriously twisted stuff in there. I can't wait to read the rest.

Anime Which ANIME character would make you weak in the knees?
ChibiHorsewoman replied to Sweet Pie's topic in Otaku Central
Oh, I have to answer this question very carefully! You see, I really think Duo Maxwell from Gunadam Wing is one of the best drawn Bishies in either anime or Manga. You can all dispute my beliefs, but I'm not going to budge a centimeter. He has is all. The hair, the eyes, the sense of humor. Unfortunately he doesn't have the height. I read somewhere that if Duo were real he'd be only 136 cm which translates to 5'2 for the metricly challenged and I'm 5'4 so there goes my dream. So now for a tall guy-Rei Kashino from Mars. He's also very nicely drawn and taller than me (hey I'm strange about things like that) So I'd have to say that he definately makes me weak in the knees. Well, untill Sesshomaru came along-he is the best drawn demon I've seen in a while. Well, okay, my time's up. and You know that I need help! Love, Chibi Horsewoman -
I got this idea after reading and replying to the Emmy's post. So, if you ran the Emmy's and helped get the votes and everything, who would you pick as the winner? as for myself-and mind you I'm not all that good with music and such: Best J-Pop artist Hamisaki Ayumi best interpretation of actual music Brittany Spears-any of her music Best new Punk band Third Estate best new album by a group that's been around for a while but just became mainstream Evenescence-Fallen Best female Rock band The Donna's (if they're not really rock, I'm sorry) Best female country singer Sarah Evans Best male country singer Alan Jackson So, does anyone else care to share their nominations?

The Grammy Awards: Biggest disappointment of the year
ChibiHorsewoman replied to Transtic Nerve's topic in Noosphere
I only caught the duet between Beyonce and Prince (or is that the Artist formerly known as prince, formerly known as a symbol now known as Prince again?) I didn't see the rest of it. I did see the clip of Justin Timberlake on CNN this morning. It's kinda off how they banned Janet from the grammy's yet let Justin go anyway since they were both to blame for the Super Bowl Fiasco. I have to agree that the Emmy's are nothing more that an awards show for popular music. You know the stuff played over and over until it turns to meaningless crap in your head. I don't understand Pink being counted as a rock star-if the Donna's were nominated for a Grammy that's the catergory that should've won-but I don't have the money to take over the Grammy's so.... Oh, where was i going with this? Oh, yeah I don't watch the Grammy's because i think everything's a conspiracy theory. I'll just leave it at that. -
T-Shirts and Bumper Sticker Sayings
ChibiHorsewoman replied to JC Goodwin's topic in General Discussion
I saw a shirt like the one amibasuki mentioned above, only it said: Crap, it's snowing! in white letters. Other fun shirt sayings: Sorry, I haven't been to church. I've been busy practicing witchcraft and becoming a lesbian {owned by one of my lesbian friends) My psychiatrist says it's all your fault My cat can beat up your cat Your cat's a liar because my cat said so. I wish I was a kitty Only my cat understands me If you can read this, please put me back on my horse (the writing is upside down) My mom went shop lifting and all I got was this crummy t-shirt Fast, Easy, Cheap. (this was on the back of a t-shirt I got when I ordered some college books online. The service wasn't fast and that's how I got the shirt) And now it's Mallard time (It's the caption of this shirt my dad has. THere's a bunch of ducks drinking beer from a cooler and behind them is a dead hunter) Of course, if I got a shirt made for myself it would say: Yes: I am a witch. No: I can't turn your ex into a frog! -
Originally posted by Phantom yea the cartlidge (sorry spelling) is more painful and yes there is a crunch :)
Most definately on both accounts. It hurt more than my tattoo and sounded like semi-soggy corn flakes-I can't wait to do it again!:wigout: I've also had my eyebrow done, that didn't hurt too badly, but it swelled up and turned lovely colors. Also you have to keep it clean with anti-bacterial soap and you can't really sleep on that side of your head for about 2 weeks. Oh, and you have to take it out for sports and food service jobs. But the same is true for any peircing but your ears and tongue in that respect. I have three other holes in my ears, but the third one on my right ear closed up again. Three of my friends and my husband have tongue rings. They pull your tongue out, clamp it down and stick a needle thru it. After that you can't really eat for a while. It's also not recomended to rinse it out too much because it won't heal as fast as it should. Oh and your tongue does swell and make you talk funny. Naval rings are cute, but they get infected real easy, even if you clean them out as directed they can still get really nasty, so I don't advise getting one of those unless you're willing to have it done over and over. Nipple rings hurt like hell-or so I've been told. My husband said that was the most painful piercing he'd ever had done. He said it hurt even more than the tattoo on his shoulderblade. My friend Barb said the same thing, so unless you like pain, I'd stay away from those. My friend Tommee has his ariolla (that's the chin right?) done. It looks pretty cool, but he has to take it out for work. NO clue if it hurt or not. I want to get a Marylin MOnroe-that's a piercing by your upper lip, but I've been also deciding against it since I think it would look kinda goofy in the long run. I did date a guy who had one tho. And I know nobody's said anything about body mods yet, but those are just nasty. Who'd want to pierce their back in the first friggin' place? Ew!:drunk: Well, there's my dollar's worth, Stick with tattoos!

I'm going to go with the general concesous and say, put the cat to sleep, because it's just the humane thing to do. Yes, that's right I said euthanizing the cat is humane! I know how it feels, I've had a few animals put to sleep in my lifetime and it really hurts. I don't really remember the first dog we had very well, since I was a baby, but she was a dauchschund and her name was Heidi. My parents had to put her to sleep when she was five because she had slipped disks and couldn't walk very well so they put her out of her misery. Sandy was our other dog, she kept getting benign tumors as she got older and had trouble walking. As she grew older she had trouble going outside and would deficate in the house instead. But she lived longer than Heidi and was about 14 when we put her to sleep. Finally was Pouncer, our second cat. He had gotten into a fight and lost a lot of blood so the vet had to euthanize him too. Another animal I was close to, but wasn't mine was this Tennessee Walker gelding named Ivan. HE was a retired police horse and was about 35 which is pretty old in horse years when he died. So yes, you'll be sad when you have to put your cat down, but it's for the best. Sounds cruel but it's for the best. However, if you want to remember your cat, just take one of his/her toys and a picture of him/her and put it on a shelf to remind you of better times with the animal. It does help to do something like that. Condolances, Chibi Horsewoman

Anime What's your favorite anime quote?
ChibiHorsewoman replied to ElrickOtaku's topic in Otaku Central
In response to Elrick I think the best ones from the TEnchi Movie 2 are: funny Did we scare you, did we hurt you? I'm so Sorry!-a Teddy Bear poignentAzuha is Azuha and Miyuka is Miyuka-Miyuka Just plain out there I'm sorry, but no matter what the provocation, I don't allow killing in the house-Tenchi's grandfather just plain amusing Maybe I'm Miyuka's mommy-Sasami Ooh, another Sailor Jupiter Quote, this one's from Sailor MoonS: I won't forgive you today, I'll pound your Spirits! Stil the best one is ChibiChibi in Sailor Stars with: Erotic aren't you? -
I possitively adore this show, both versions of it. True the British verson makes me search for some definitions, but it's still funny! My favorite actor on the American version is Wayne Brady. He does some of the best impressions and it's funny when they have him do songs on a moment's notice. I wish they'd come out with some new shows besides the re-runs, for all I know, they have but I work B shift so I wouldn't know if they have or not. So, does anyone else like or hate this show? Or even heard of either version?
