Quotes: The silly, the strange and the questionable
ChibiHorsewoman replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in General Discussion
Great, now I've got popular stuck in my head. =p I really need to talk to you and chibi more often. Galinda: You still riding that old thing? Elfeba: Yeah, well not everyone can travel by bubble! xD That's my favorite.
Yeah, that song is catchy and it reminds me of another quote. And yes, you do need to chat with Chibi and I more often (is not refering to herself in 3rd person Nya!) Also I can't believe I forgot that line- it was funny. I wish I didn't have a headache when I went to see Wicked. Flip, flip- Galinda from Wicked during the song Popular. It was really funny- it was funnier when Elphaba tried it. It's Glinda now, the Gah is silent- Galinda- oh excuse me Glinda again.
Me: Moose! Jon: Was this moose in a room? Me: Nope. That means it was not, in fact, on a candlestick. Jon: Was it on the back of a car? Me: xD (( -
This reminds me of the furniture store in Killeen, TX that would constantly have adverts about their political veiws. No one cares when you're a ruddy furniture store that you like the president and hate the Dixie Chicks. I wish I could see some of this first hand, but living in the North and vowing never to go South again will probably mean I'll never see it close up. Truthfully I think it's funny. And although I'm a Catholic I will say that unless you believe there is really no valid way to prove God exists to someone who doesn't share most of your views.
You don't need to fit it all! It's in your sig!:animesmil And yes, yes we do!:catgirl:
Yeah, but I meant the parts that aren't in the signature. Like how we got on the topic of the amish. And how you wanted to see the Amish because you've never seen the Amish. Seriously girl I think if you go out towards Williamson or Williamsville It's off of 31 I think... well I think you'll see some Amish. But I don't think they'll want to dance in this weather. But hey wait a few months and you may get some rootbeer. Yeah, I think you may just scare the Amish though. But at least you'll have fun- Me to Chibi during our conversation on the Amish. You know you wish you were there. God was too busy today protecting our soldiers who are protecting your right to talk stupid and act like an *******. So, He sent me- the punchline of a joke one of my friends sent me. This was really funny I should share it. I'm an Air Force officer just like you are, Colonel. And just because my reproductive organs are on the inside instead of the outside doesn't mean I can't handle whatever you can handle.- Cpt Carter from Stargate SG-1. I've always wanted to find a way to fit this into a conversation. Sadly I'm not in the Air Force nor am I an officer? Wait did I say sadly I meant to say thankfully. Totally harshing my mellow- Jude Lizowski 6Teen. No real reason, I just wanted to use the quote. -
Okay, the first is Raiha, then CHW, then me when I spar in Karate.
Yeah, sadly that picture does fit me. I need to find one for you now don't I? Eh... let me search now

Quotes: The silly, the strange and the questionable

Okay I have to keep this going. I have a new one: Stop that crying Don't you want to see Auntie Em and Uncle what's his name again? And what's the matter with you? Putting on a dead woman's shoes? Were you raised in a barn or something?- Elphaba from Wicked. That was probaby one of the funniest lines in the show- well here are some more Nessa Rose What are you doing here? Elphaba Well you know what they say, there's no place like home You know that couldn't be avoided especially in a musical based off of the Wizard of Oz Do or do not, there is no try.-Yoda You can't just be all 'oh, I'll try to do this' you have to be willing to go through with your actions 100% or they all come to nothing at the end. Plus, I get points for the Star Wars plug True friendship is never serene- Marie le Cevigne This one is very true because unless you test something you never know if you're just floating along. Friends fight, but if you can't remain friends after a fight, then you weren't meant to be friends in the first place. Me- So you have to draw naked people? Lee- Yeah and they're ugly Me- Look when you have to touch them and clean them up, then you can have my sympathy. But until then shut up This was my conversation with my boyfriend about his life drawing class. He was upset that the models weren't really that good looking. As an RA at a nursing home who has to clean people up- I don't really feel sorry for him. Yes. If I ever drive by an Amish person in the future I shall roll down my window and say. "Aww so Cu ute do a lil dance please?- Chibi Master on the Amish. It was a really funny IM. Too bad I couldn't fit it all on here. We have to do another one very soon. -
I get the feeling Gavin might get angry at me about this one, but... THINGS YOU DIDN'T HEAR AT THE OLYMPICS "...And it's a Gold for Ireland!" - Andy Parsons
Yeah, you won't hear that in 2010 either, sorry Ireland. Makes me mad though because I thought they'd at least have a good equestrian team. Anyways, I'm glad that at least one thing went right today, okay back to quotes. Meg may be mean, but at least we know she's honest- My dear friend Lisa because let's just face it, I'm brutally honest sometimes. Oh well at least I've friends who understand. Boyfriend in BC- Yeah I had a meeting for financial aide today and I got a hair cut me- Oh that's good Lee, now I can use my web cam and see you again. Boyfriend in BC*slightly annoyed*- Why do you only want to see me when I look my best. But you don't want to see me when I look my worst? Me- Look, until you're here and stuff the best you can do for me is look athstetically pleasing. Okay not the nicest thing to say, but it's a sad but true fact when you're in a long distance relationship if someone has to look at you they want to LOOK at you looking good. Go ahead touch that stove, bet you won't do it again. Go ahead put that fork in that light socket, bet you won't do it again- My brother to one of his neices or his nephew Oh Hell no! What do you mean he wanted to go to the Forbidden City?[/'b]- My friend Angel (who lives north of Edmonton in AB) ranting about my boyfriend wanting to go to school in Calgary before he started school in Kelowna. The Forbidden City is her 'special name' for Calgary. I have a dream And in it something eats you- Happy Bunny Oh man, I'm weeping like a hubcap here- My friend Nisa. The reason they have the boarder between the US and Canada is because that's the cut off where the people in the US can't tolerate cold weather- My various Canadian friends about the boarder. What I'd like to know is how do they explain Alaska? ☻Irish quotes!☺ An Irishman is never drunk as long as he can hold onto a blade of grass and not fall off the edge of the world- This is so true, I mean how else do you explain my nearly Brother-in-law Do not regret growing old, many are denied the privelege- Working in geriatric care has proven this point time and time again. Also watching the news and seeing all these people be shot or killed in wars and bombings. It's a blessing to grow old. There are two kinds of people in this world. The Irish, and everyone who wishes they were Irish.- Anyone who's Irish can appreciate that type of pride. Or cheek, either way it's still a good quote.:animesmil May those who love us always love us. And for those who don't love us, may God turn their hearts. And if He can't turn their hearts may He turn their ankles so we may know them by their limping- This is just funny and something I wish would happen at times. -
Of course if there are any meaningful ones you'd care to share go right ahead. I would like to appologize ahead of time for the quality of my first post because I'm rushing this out before I leave for work. I'm just bored and looking for ways to cure it. Here are some quotes of late. Feel free to add yours to the fray, but please explain why you like them and where they're from if you can.: Being a hero is great, but being an action hero is better- My boyfriend on why he should have the Halo 3 Theme song as his ringtone. He's never said it out loud, but one of our friends says he's a Halo fanboy, and dammit all if he isn't at least a closet one. If I ever see an Amish person. I'm gonna ask them to do a dance- Chibi Master. Okay I paraphrased, but it was just too funny. No one can make you feel inferior without your persmission- Eleanore Roosevelt. This one is very true because it's not up to other people what you feel about yourself, it's up to you. That's all from me until tonight. I hope someone comes up with better ones than mine.
I live in the greater Boston area, in Massachusetts, in the US. The town I live in is pretty quaint, they're so determined on keeping it small and self-contained but they're failing (Panera is coming, Panera is coming!). The Boston Marathon starts in my town, which is like the one big event for us. Our other claim to fame is the Entwistle murders, which happened right down the street from my house. My town is about 40 minutes away from Boston, which is very nice when I want to take the train in to do some Photography projects. All in all, I don't mind it, but I'm not sure if I would want to come live here forever. I'm a city girl, yo!
I had to giggle at the Panera Bread comment. I love that place even though I haven't eatten there in a while. We have one in the small shopping area across from my town's post office and the town Walmart* where the people in customer service get a nice big FAIL. I could add that my town was named after General Horatio "Granny" Gates from the American revolution. But the guy kinda ran off during the battle at Waxhaw (is that the correct spelling?) so I won't go into it. Like most towns in the Greater Rochester Area, we're older than the actual city (which will be celebrating it's 175th birthday this year.) it's actually quite different from most cities in that respect (grr stupid space bar, I'll fix this later) If I could afford it, I'd move to Pittsford which is located on the Erie Canal. It's where I do most of my work and it has a lot of history and a cute village.
Augh...that...made me physically ill!:animedepr Seriously! I got to page 5 and had to sprint across the hall to the bathroom! Th-that was one big mess of a thread! Though I have to say, that John person was being a little brutal and harsh to the fiery CHW...
Yeah he was. *Sigh* I was such a beyotch then. I was going through the divorce and then I just got upset. Dear Starfire. She's the only one on here who really does know me. Wish she still came on here. Reading that though, it makes you realize that sometimes it;s best to keep strong emotions to yourself

Blinks a few times to adjust my eyes. Ma'am how are you? I hate blacking out and while this white space is sure nice and quiet (beats the shouting and arguing of four kids under six- remind me to drug my husband and get him fixed later) it's weirding me out. Plus I'm quite sure the babysitter is waiting for me. Okay since you've asked nicely: Name: Elizabeth Annamarie Cartier Age: thirty, but sometimes I feel like I'm forty, other times I feel like half my age and I want my mother. Gender: Seeing that I've given birth three times (yeah, twins- BOY twins.) I'm female. In my next life I either want to be male or a nun! home planet Earth. Western most Canadian province. Apperance Mussed. I'm five four with green brown eyes. I used to have time to put in my contacts, but now I wear my glasses pretty much twenty-four seven. Dark brown hair, straigh and to my shoulders held in a pony tail as usual so I can run from being a pediatric nurse to being a mom. Yeah it's not that I don't like kids, it's just moms get overwhelmed. Thank you.

Eh I'm kinda Meh about Valentine's Day right now. I found good cards for two of my friends, but there isn't anything right (IE: anything that isn't going to give someone diabetes) for my boyfriend. I'm not mushy, sentimental and romantic. That's his job. Seriously, he cried when I told him I loved him. He's also an insane perfectionist which is why I never even got a card last year, what he drew didn't look right for him. Thank God this year I just asked for the Canadian quarters. However, I do love the whole chocolate and gifts. Plus Indi's post is filled with chocolate coverd win.
I watched that preview on television a week or so ago and I'm sort've on the fence. I've liked all of Tim Burton's animated features (and yes I know this isn't Tim Burton, but it seems like it's in the same genre). I'll probably take my niece and go watch it the weekend after opening (I love having a younger niece, keeps me from feeling like the creepy old guy going to watch kids movies.
Coraline isn't exactly a kid movie since it has a PG rating, but then again Kung Fu Panda had a PG rating and I took my then three year old to see that. I guess it's all in the parent's perspective. I could go see it in 3-D since I have the IMAX theater near my house, plus my sister-in-law is a manager there so if I ask ahead of time I can get free passes. I've been watching the previews for it for a while now, and my daughter (who is four now) did seem to like it when we went to see Diaspereaux (which By the way was quite darker than I expected, but she seemed fine) I seriously need to live near people my own age
I'm in Phoenix, AZ now. I've only been here for about 3 weeks though, so I'm still getting used to things. I used to live in Wilkes-Barre, PA, which is about 2 hours north of Philadelphia, and has absolutely nothing to do. Gorgeous scenery if you want to drive a little bit, but nothing whatsoever to do.
I've been to Phoenix once and I would love to go again. I've a friend who lives in Chandler- she claims it's closer to Tempe, but I really don't believe it. Phoenix though is not for me because it gets insanely hot and by early May they get their first days in the 100's. But it is really pretty there (once you drive past the inner city places on what I think is rt10. The Camel Back mountains in Scottsdale are nice- infact all of Scottsdale (Go to PF Chang's at the Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall- it's the first one ever) is very nice, but you can pretty much smell the money. Another good site is the Cactus Gardens (maybe they're Botanical? Look both of them up if you want( that I have forgotten the name of, but they're next to the zoo. By the way if you go to the zoo I recommend only using the pedal carts when it's cool out. Other than that the way to go is either on foot or on the tram. Other than that... no ruddy idea. But I guess you can go to the Grand Canyon. And I feel left out. Anyone else from Upstate New York on here?

Put Down That Sea Kitten You Monster!
ChibiHorsewoman replied to Raiha's topic in General Discussion
This whole thing does nothing but tempt me to make sea kitten patties shaped like a cat. I'll just use a cookie cutter like this: Cat to get the shape right. I already have the fish since I tend to use it and chicken more than red meat. Also... lol@Gavin =P
You know what? If you do 'sea kittie' patties with a cookie cutter like that, it'll look like you're taking a bite out of Luna. More likely than not Sailor Moon will come and punish you- or sit down and eat depending on how hungry she is. Gor, that was a horridly disombobulated post. I do appologize. And if PETA really wants a cause we can believe in, they're more than welcome to protest the chipped beef with potatos that was served at work on Tuesday. -
Nezzyjean, Atlanta sounds interesting. My mom's company is based there so she travels down there from time to time, but I've only had lay overs there on my way to Dallas or Augusta. I've heard the driving is horrendous. And for what ever reason when I see Reading I think Pennsylvania not England. Ruddy Hell. Okay so I forgot to mention that Rochester has one of the oldest public cemetary in the US, Mount Hope Cemetary was founded in 1838 during a Cholera epidemic and is final resting place to people such as Susan B. Anthony and Frederick Douglass. Susan B Anthony's house is also open for tours. Rochester is also home to the Strong National Museum of Play which is the only Museum dedicated to play. I go there a few times a month. I'd also mention Kodak, but they've laid off about as many people as we have in the cemetary, so really why bother? I also lived in Killeen Texas for a year. It wasn't that exciting and the only reason it's even considered a city is because Ft. Hood- the largest military base in the free world. I lived down there in 2003 when Bush got the bright idea to invade Iraq. I don't know who else knows this, but Ft. Hood is home to First Cav. and Fourth ID and first First Cav was supposed to be the first over to Iraq, but then they changed and sent Fourth ID instead (ID is short for Infantry Division) It wasn't too bad living off base and having to do everything on base. Except when Bush would come to visit the base. Then they'd shut everything down. I was late to a doctor appointment once because of Bush, come to think of it that's why I ended up pregnant.
So I did, no need to apologize over it though. I'm the one who got it wrong. I do agree with your verdict on the post. =P But then I'm biased, I'm engaged to be married and I simply do not see relationships as a waste. I wouldn't have it any other way.
Yeah I'd've replied to this one as well, but as I've been divorced once and am engaged, but without the ring and the official asking, I don't know if I'm biased or not. I do believe that any relationship no matter if it ends in a spectacular array of craptastic or lasts til you're too old to remember where you are is not a waste. The bad ones are merely stepping stones. Which is why henceforth I will refer to my first marriage as a starter marriage. After all I did get a child out of the whole deal. And Tallgeese, maybe it just seems like a waste of time and money because you keep on serial dating and are afraid of commitment.

Illinois House impeaches governor
ChibiHorsewoman replied to Rachmaninoff's topic in General Discussion
Well I got to see more of the show last night. He was on Letterman of all places trying to prove his innocence. What's next? Leno? If you're so bloody innocent, then why do you have to keep proving it for sobbing out loud? -
I think the better question is, why is a 14 year old being tried as an adult?! Anyway, if the cop doesn't die, then it's not murder. Tragic as it may be, if it isn't murder, then I see no need to kill the boy. Life in jail, probably.
Excellent question Chibi, glad you asked. He's being tried as an adult because he acted as an adult. I'm learning more now from the news. He's already been a juvenile offender since- oh you'll love this- the sixth grade. Now on this station they're not saying how he's being tried. But I would like to know if the opinions of those who believe in the death penalty have changed when the attacker is so young and this wasn't in self defense

Hey ya'll. Well I'm bored and I think we need some more life in this board, so I think I'll bring up an oldie but goodie and ask where everyone is. But this time it's a twist because I think you should also put in what your area is known for or what's worth seeing. Also, if you've lived in other cities, states or even countries you can fill everyone in on those as well. Okay so maybe it's not the best thought out post, but it's something right? Okay then, I'm in Western New York State living in the snow belt.I live about fifteen to thirty minutes away from Lake Ontario depending on which beach I want to go to. And we have one of the oldest Amusement parks in North America. The closest city is Rochester which is now calling themself the Center City for some reason I haven't caught yet. In my humble opinion the best time to come visit is from May to September when we have all our festivals starting with the Lilac Festival which proves why Rochester is known as the FLOWER City (We used to be the Flour City because of our location on the Genessee River and all the flour mills) OF course the Taste of Rochester Fest is good too. They have all sorts of food there. Yum. Yeah that's it for now. I'll fill you in some more later.

Okay. I'm just going to ignore most of what has happened and give out a new scenerio. So over the weekend this new cop (twenty-three years old) on the RPD was shot in the back of the head after he responded to a drug complaint in the city. Today the person who did it turned himself in and get this, he's fourteen years old. They've been saying on the news that the officer is showing some signs of progress. He's responding to his parent's voices, but he's still in guarded condition. His attacker is as I've said a fourteen year old boy. This young man has been charged as an adult with attempted murder and assault. If the young police officer dies, what should the verdict be for the attacker?

This cake...isn't a lie, unfortunately.
ChibiHorsewoman replied to Sangome's topic in General Discussion
Would you like a list? 'Cause that could go on for a while... Why on Earth do parents give their children such ridiculous names?! Are they BORED?! Did they just want to see the look on peoples' faces when the kid was introduced?! Ugh...the world is infested with morons...
Too lazy to do the pretty font. Celebrities have been giving their kids goofy names for years (Rumor WIllis, Apple, Coco, Tru Denym) For the love of all things sacred Tom Cruise named his daughter after a town in England and spelled it wierd. It's just caught on to the general public. Case in point, my ex wanted to name our daughter Lorna... and I said oh hell no. Now he has a kid named Liam, and his mom is pronouncing it Lie Am... . Plus I know of a woman who named her daughter Arab. Yes I am quite serious. ARAB. Seriously though, you can't just remove a child for a bad name. But for school records you should just stick with the not as horrid names. -
Th-thank you!!!:animecry: *clings to you like a wet beach towel* Well, Nerdsy, I was going to offer to help you with those posters, but as you can see, I now have a Valentine!:p But I nominate...Darren (the werewolf one) to be your Valentine of you want! And no, Darren, you get no say in this.
Uh you're welcome? Just don't expect anything except a polite e-card because I'm about to buy a new cell phone, so I'll be broke. I'm just glad I could help out. Nerdsy, I second the nomination of Darren. But I was thinking that maybe on Valentine's day all of us without dates (for whatever reason- and I feel I should be included since geography has left me single on V-day) We should have a single chat- just for the purpose of stuffing our face with expensive chocolate from cute heart shaped boxes. We can do it on AIM. Who's up for it? Okay before I close off I have to ask, why is Valentine's Day so romantic? It's a Saint's Feast day which means that the guy was probably killed in a rather gruesome fashion. Not exactly my idea of a romantic gesture. I guess if you were to combine the pagan festivals of this holiday it'd be okay. But do you really want to share your signifigant other with others? IMHO, I believe that the Japanese have it right when they celebrate White day and give out chocolate no actual romance involved.
Normally don't care about it... ...but this year a very lovely cockney (cockney cockney cockney - you just fall in love with the voice) is taking me out for a meal for free. She's also 21 which is damn good. And pretty as anything. And nice. And bought me a rose. But we're not in a relationship and don't intend to be in one, so I'm technically single =p. Not sure what else we have planned, possibly just the meal. I'm probably just going to make her talk all day and try and force her to teach me some rhyming slang XD.
Damn you Vicky. I would love to be around to just hear someone with a cockney accent speak. Or maybe any accent barring Central Texan (yes that is its own accent) and Quebec (Gor! It sounds like a bad cross between Pepe Le Pew and Robin Hood from Shrek) Yeah just one night I want to be around someone with an accent (Canadian doesn't count as an accent!) I wonder if it's an American thing.

Damn it's that time again? I still have to mail my cards out- last year I found the best one for my friend Lisa which included some guy named Adam being drowned- Adam is her boyfriend of eight years. This year I'll be celebrating with my daughter and my online friends. My boyfriend is away at school and one of my friends who lives locally is married which equals plans that night. Last year I did the same thing... except maybe I worked too, I forget. Last year my boyfriend didn't get me anything because he said that they card he was making me didn't look right so he threw it out so this year I opted for asking for Canadian quarters- I want July, April, Summer, spring, British Columbia, and the 2010 winter olympics (FYI Canada did quarters like the US state quarters, but lacking the fifty states the did the provinces, the seasons, the months and then last year they also released a quarter for the 2010 Winter Olympics being held in Vancouver BC) It's cheaper than flowers, chocolate and shoes. He can't complain though, this year I got him a CD, last year I made a mixed one to help with his school project. Now all I need is a card. Chibi, you can be my Valentine too if you want.
Hold your horses dear. Rush Limbaugh did not make up lies saying he would make changes right away. Unless you have a direct quote that you can show us from a reliable source, such as the transcripts of his show, you have no right to claim such a thing. And also, Rush is being quoted entirely out of context. He doesn't want Obama to succeed because, like me, we believe that it would mean principles and ideas that we don't believe in have succeeded. So before you jump on the 'let's take everyone that disagrees with Obama out of context' bandwagon, be careful.
Ican sum up my thoughts on Rush Limbaugh in one nice three syllable word: hypocrite. That said, any normal person who voted for Obama knows that change won't come about in even the first one hundred days after the inaguration. Sadly most of the bi-partisan honeymoon has worn off already and it's only been a week. The Republican Minority is already telling everyone not to pass this stimulus package. Okay I just say go back to the drawing board and maybe take the money from those Wall Street jackasses we bailed out. We can allow them to live on about sixty thousand a year and see how they like it. And even if they don't tough cookies. Okay now, back to the original topic. I heard about this on CNN this afternoon. I think it's another interesting way to learn a new language. And it's definately a plus for the US foreign relations.
