Actually there isn't a disagreement. I just happen to believe that once they write a good proposition that handles the subject of homosexual partnerships without managing to stifle/offend/etcetcetc heterosexual partnerships I'll be happy to support it with my vote.
Yes, it's been ten days but what they hell: . Sorry, but I don't see the big deal about it. Legalizing gay marriage isn't going to kill anyone. At least not out right. I mean yeah a few peple down in Arkansas (where they also passed a ban on single people adopting children- but hey it IS Arkansas) might keel over from heart attacks. But seriously how is a little gay marriage stifling or offending your little hetero partnership. Connecticut decided to allow same sex marriages and the world din't come crashing to a halt. Heck Canada allows same sex marriages and they also have one of the lowest crime rates in the world and a conservative Prime Minister along with a conservative parliment. No one has suffered irreversible damage from a same sex marriage. If anyone is being stifled right now it's homosexuals. They can't expect to have the same civil liberties as everyone else because certain members of society are offended by it. In my humble opinion a constitutional ban on gay marriage is UNconstitutional and it retards our country's growth.

Hey serious congratulations. It's really wonderful of you and your boyfriend to make it possible for someone to start a family of their own. Really it's a wonderful gift that the two of you are giving someone. Whoa, hand that off to Hallmark and give me the royalties will ya? So anyways, aside from the missed period, what else has she noticed? Sensitive breasts, nausea at certain times of the day. (Morning sickness is a seriously misleading phrase.) Being very tired is also a sign of pregnancy. Of course she could do it the old fashioned way and buy a pregnancy test then go to her OBGYN. But again congratulations. And I think it's great that you two will be able to be involved in the baby's life. It's like an open adoption, but with no forfeited parental rights.
Eh, Canadian Thanksgiving goes back just as far (if not further) as the American version. And we too have a football event every year (The Thanksgiving Day Classic). It's just not a huge deal because football sucks and everyone is watching the hockey game. :)
I'm only saying that because my boyfriend is from British Columbia and had to ask his brothers if they had football on Thanksgiving. Then I told him that not having football on Thanksgiving is un American. To which he simply replied he wasn't American he was Canadian :animesigh Like I needed him to remind me, I can always just look at his passport. And Football does not suck. It's just as good as Hockey. Plus aside from the Winter Classic last year and that other one in Edmonton back in 2000 something all the NHL games are indoors. You want Hockey to kick *** play outside more often.

Oh man. Thanksgiving... American Thanksgiving which of course equals watching football. Not the counterfeit Canadian Thanksgiving where they don't do football. :animecry: Well I'll be working on and off. I start by working from 11pm-7AM from the night before to the morning of Thanksgiving. Then I get to have some sleep since everyone is off and my dad is home from hunting so someone else can keep an eye on my daughter until like 1PM or so (I think that leaves me with about 6.5 hours of sleep since it takes 1/2 an hour for me to get home) Around 2 I think we go to my mom's older sister's house for the meal. It's pretty traditional and I think my brother and his wife should be there too. I hope my sister-in-law can be there because we hardly see her. Then around 6:30 I go back to work from 7-11pm because I had to argue to not come in at 3PM this past monday. And then I get home and on Black Friday instead of shopping I'm pulling a double from 7am-11pm. Oh yeah and then Saturday it's 11pm-3am. I think I like my job. Oh I just like the money. Yeah, I'm boring. And since my ex husband and his family are staying down in Texas again instead of spending money to see his daughter here in New York just like last year (He hasn't seen our daughter in person since May of '07 and thinks he shouldn't have to pay child support) there won't be any drama. He hasn't really had a holiday with her since Christmas '05 and during Thanksgiving '05 when he came to pick our daughter up from my aunt's house (in his class A's no less- please I'm from a family of war veterans who does he think he's impressing?) my aunt had to go up stairs so she wouldn't punch him out. Frankly I can't wait until he actually tries to be a father to our daughter (he has a step daughter and a son from this marriage) because that will be when the real good stories start... ooh better warm up the blog incase he shows up for Christmas!
That was that really young guy everyone seemed to be swooning over correct? That's not funny at all, that's the biggest fear of every man in America. That's why I will never have a pool or hire a boy to clean said pool.....that's of course overlooking the face that I couldn't currently afford a pool. Edit: Is there an award for using the word that to start every sentence in a paragraph? Because if so I won that one hands down.
Yeah I guess. And I do know that the cheating thing is a big fear for everyone. And you mean to tell me you can't even get one of those little inflateable kiddie pools that you empty every night to keep out the mosquitos? Hmm, I don't know if there is an award but if there is you win it.
I assume Carlos must be Eva Longoria's Pool boy...lucky bastard. I also am assuming he's moonlighting as the green ranger?
No no no. Not even close! Carlos is Gabby's (Eva Longoria Parker's character) husband. He went blind in the last season after there was a tornado and the mayor... well it won't make sense unless you watch the show. However she did have a fling with her high school aged gardener in the first season. Damn was that funny!
Carlos? Are you watching Power Rangers on Telemundo?
No, how can you be so blind??? They're watching Desperate Housewives
I dunno why all the republicans think they'd like it any better over here =P Our conservatives are liberal by your standards xD
Because not only is Steven Harper a conservative, most of parliment is conservative. So they think they have a chance. But I was telling my friend in Alberta tonight that it looks like Harper needs a new butt to kiss because we have a new president and she's like yeah poor him. Anyways the election tonight was all that was on the TVs at work and as soon as the electoral votes were being counted. We were holding our breath since the first ones were tallied. And i kept using the walkies for updates. :animeswea Oh and we made a woman leave to go vote. I think pandamonium broke out when everything was finished because the majority of my co-workers all voted for Obama. And I sure as hell don't envy his new position. I do have to say that McCains concession speech was very touching and that the antics of the people gathered were very unappealing. You do not boo someone who is surrendering gracefully it's rude and just makes you all look like a buch of sore losers. It makes me think that McCAin is a good guy despite his politics and probably would have made a great president if he had won. It's just sad that his party can't be the mature kind of person that he is. Oh and as for voting. Very boring. I woke up and dropped my daughter off at daycare then drove over to my church to vote. I had to vote in the 16th district and it just figured that the 16th district was the one that had the line. No one else had a line. I showed my Driver's license to the poll person and signed my name (I also saw that my mom had already voted before I got there and my dad hadn't been there yet) signed my name then waited in line and voted for Obama. That's the only one I voted for (well that and the military bill proposition.) I didn't really see anyone else I cared about because everyone else had been slinging mud for weeks in the local and state congress. And after I voted I went out to buy some shoes.

It's 8 minutes to midnight here in New York, I voted to day. I've been watching the election coverage at work since I got there.
I like the way you think, Raiha. XD That is an interesting way to look at costumes. @Chibihorsewoman: Sure, tell us the story behind Robin Da Hood if you don't mind. Halloween stories are fun. And I had no idea you had a daughter. Her costume sounds like it was very cute. How old is she? Working on Halloween though isn't the best. I hope you made the most of it.
Well My co-worker kinda looked like a Leprechan pimp because she had this emerald green fedora with a feather in it. The hat matched the dress she was wearing perfectly and she was carrying a bag with a dollar sign on it. She claimed the costume was supposed to be Robin Da Hood. That's what the package said. Yes, I definately have a daughter- she just turned four back in September. I talk about her a lot. And yeah, working on Halloween isn't always fun. But when you work somewhere that allows you to dress up and have fun it makes it a little better. I've just learned to deal with it.
-
I worked on halloween 6am-2pm then 5pm-9pm. I did dress up though. The first eight hours I stapled some sponges to a t-shirt and was self absorbed. I also was forced to listen to some woman that work had hired to entertain the residents. I swear I thought party music was supposed to be upbeat and happy. And I thought we were supposed to keep the residents entertained at a party. Most of this woman's songs were like something to induce a coma by- one guy left. The second shift I borrowed a costume from my mom and was supposed to go through four hours as a renessance (can't spell) princess or something. But the sleeves were too damn itchy and I had to do a shower. So I changed back into my uniform. Some of my co-workers dressed up too. The human resources lady was a devil, one med passer was a 1/2 angel 1/2 devil and the other one was Robin Da Hood (loong story, but if you want I can explain later) Then second shift another one of the med passers was a Cosmopolitan. That was kinda cool. My daughter went Trick-or-treating with my mom if anyone cares. She was Cinderella. Then when my mom brought her back home she helped hand out the candy. She kept saying 'My kids are here' when the trick or treaters would ring the bell.

Assassination attempt, first of many?
ChibiHorsewoman replied to Drizzt Do'urden's topic in General Discussion
Do you think this is a reason America's not ready for a black president...though a great man said "He's only Half-Black America. Just vote for the white-half."
But I wanted to vote for the beige half! If I can't have that then dammit all I'm not voting. Okay stupid random outbursts aside I think that this kind of thing is bound to happen because the United States is still filled with idiots who think that anyone who is a minority or has different beliefs ought to be hanged. It's a sad fact of life, but unfortunately we don't live in a utopian society where everyone gets along so something like this will happen sooner or later. The good thing is that these people were caught and since it isn't the 60's they will be tried with a federal offense of trying to kill a presidential nominee. The story I read in my news paper (which was in the very back of the global news section) was that they were going to kill eighty-eight people beheading fourteen of them because fourteen and eighty-eight are important numbers in the Neo Nazi movement. I don't know why, maybe if we still had that white supremisist member from two years ago he could 'enlighten' us. I don't know why we're so focused on race, or sex or religion (Case in point a few rumors going around that Obama is a Muslim) Would it make any difference if the guy was Atheist, Gay? Transgendered? Do those things really make you a better or worse president? A better or worse leader? History proves that this is not the case, so why are we as Americans who are supposed to be citizens of the most accepting free country making such a big deal about it? -
Right now I picked a bunch of favorite videos from youtube and am listening to them (currently as I type it's Canadian Idiot by Weird Al after that it should be Simple and Clean by Utada Hikaru.) I'm just bored and need something to inspire my writing. I think I also stuck Truth Beneath the Rose by Within Temptation and End of the Innocence by Don Henley in there.

Who Will Win the Presidential Election?
ChibiHorsewoman replied to Mr. Blonde's topic in General Discussion
I saw half of a documentary last night which looked at the histories of Obama and McCain (with a lot of interviews and behind-the-scenes footage). I have to finish watching it tonight. But I must say, in this election America is lucky. Rather than choosing the lesser of two evils, you're able to choose the better of two great candidates. Despite the individual disagreements people have with one candidate or another, it must be said that both McCain and Obama are incredibly talented and I think both make strong candidates. I'll have to double-check the name of the documentary; it's well worth watching and it seems quite un-biased.
I think I may know what documentary you're talking about or have watched a simular one a few months ago. I just remember working an over night shift and watching CNN since there was nothing else on TV. A co-worker and I ended up watching this documentary on both Obama and McCain. Then last month 20/20 did two separate one hour shows both about Obama and McCain. I have to agree with you about the candidates this year neither one of them is a bad guy- I just don't happen to agree with most of McCain's policies. It's not that he's evil or vindictive- I just don't want him to be president. His International policies scare the crap out of me and he wants to ban abortion. That in itsself is enough to turn me away. We won't even touch Palin. -
Hmm. I have a short list. But I'd do myself for sure :P
I'm wqith you there, I'd totally do me too. And I wouldn't even have to bribe myself with dinner and a movie.
