I just have to find something cheap and easy that won't scare the elderly repeatedly ( I work at an assisted living community for people with alzheimers and dimensia.) Clearly the angel of death is out. Any suggestions?

Who Will Win the Presidential Election?
I'm not American, but if I could, I would vote Obama.
It's not odd that you have that opinion Vicky. A lot of my non American friends would also vote for Obama. My friend Angel is Canadian- she's tired of seeing Harper kissing Bush's *** constantly My boyfriend is also Canadian he says that he'd vote for Obama because he wants to try and talk to other countries instead of just attacking everyone. Plus he says that if we elect Obama maybe people will like us again. -

Islam Is The Light: Baby Doll Mayhem.
ChibiHorsewoman replied to Raiha's topic in General Discussion
I've seen this doll in a local Target as recently as this afternoon and the closest to words I could understand from the dolls (yes dolls, plural more than one, like four or five) was mama gurgle gurgle coo. And this was afterreading the thread last night. I believe the 'Islam is the light' thing is from someone's over active imagination -

Who Will Win the Presidential Election?
ChibiHorsewoman replied to Mr. Blonde's topic in General Discussion
Oh, I'm not really looking for polls as such. I'm looking for a list of subjects and a comparison of each candidate's view on that subject. I'm sure these exist but I'm not sure which is the best one to go with (since any comparison written by either side is going to be inherently weighted to that side).
This is the best I can do at nearly 2AM Rochester Democrat and Chronical I really don't know why Democrat is in our paper's name.
http://www.foxnews.com/ :D
It's 1:30AM and I should be asleep- I couldn't resist. James, I guess you could always check to see if some of the local papers in the states have bi-partisan polls. Of course I watch CNN and mostly my local news- I'm never around a TV long enough to watch anything though except for Desperate Housewives or Little Bill -
I came here to revive the thread. Two of my friends have been talking incesantly about Ouran High School Host Club and I have yet to make time in my schedule to get into it. I probably will end up doing so next month because I'm visiting one of the two friends who is obsessed (to put it mildly) with that anime and Ed from FMA So I guess I should try to get into it so I won't be reading emails with a confused look on my face. Anyone want to help?

Who Will Win the Presidential Election?
ChibiHorsewoman replied to Mr. Blonde's topic in General Discussion
Ah but remember, polls consistently oversample Democrats and otherwise unoccupied people that still pick up land line phones. Most Republicans never get polled properly because a: they're all busy working and b: Hence they aren't home to pick up the phone anyway. Well it's the same point but it's hard to point out that inconvenient fact when discussing polls.
(I'll probably regret this after I've had some sleep and see a reply tomorrow, but right now I'm insulted.) Yeah, that's exactly what my parents, my brother and I are doing all day and night not working. Yes, Raiha, I spend 8 hours a day making 9.25$ an hour to support my 4 year old and taking over time when I can get it taking care of the elderly because I DON'T WORK. Here's a napkin to wipe off the sarcasm. The polls couldn't be different because maybe a Republican works a regular nine to five and a Democrat either works a graveyard shift (11-7) or an evening shift and just happens to be home at that time. No, it couldn't be anything that logical, it has to be because Republicans work and Democrats don't. Come to think of it, Obama must be a Republican in disquise because he's working to become president. Okay sarcasm and rant aside I'm voting for Obama. I think McCain's a nice guy and everything and I respect the fact that he fought for our country, but that really shouldn't be the sole deciding factor in who to vote for. I also don't try to only vote for one party. But I tend to lean more towards the Democratic party because they seem to have a lot more of my beliefs than the Republican party. Also I've become an adult these past 8 years and a parent in the past 4 and it scares the crap out of me right now to think of bringing a child up in this country and this world the way it is right now. The bad economy and poor foriegn policies and poor foreign relations all stem from an 8 year Republican administration. Also Obama has a better plan for health care and with my ex supposedly getting out of the Army this June I really have to wonder about health care. -
I voted that I totally dig 80's music. But then again I like most music. I have The Essential Cyndi Lauper CD and grew up learning how to 'Walk Like An Egyptian' Sometimes it's strange to admit it, but I really love a lot of 80's music. But hey now in this thread I can say it an no one can really think I'm too wierd- well weirder than they already think I am

Islam Is The Light: Baby Doll Mayhem.
ChibiHorsewoman replied to Raiha's topic in General Discussion
Personally I think some people just have overly active imaginations and way too much time on their hands. Really I've seen the doll and tried it out in a few stores (Yes, I play with dolls in the store :animeswea) and all it does is gurgle. Nothing big. I think everyone is just going overboard over nothing. It's like a few years back when Jerry Fawell decided that one of the Tellatubbies was gay because it carried a purse. Really aren't there more serious issues to worry about? -

Sexuality: What's right or wrong?
ChibiHorsewoman replied to chibi-master's topic in General Discussion
I get very angry whenever I hear someone say "that's so gay," or call someone a "***." It's common in high schools, I'm assuming everywhere. I don't understand how that could be funny. It's just ignorant and disrespectful. What else is new. But people IN MY FAMILY'S CHURCH say things like that often. That infuriates me even more than the church does already. The sunday school teachers are always going on and on about "taming the tongue," but do absolutely nothing when some kid calls another gay. What the hell.
I don't get the phrase 'That's so gay' It's as dumb as Paris Hilton's 'That's hot' I just have to throw in what Wanda Sykes said in a recent PSA for one of the Gay rights organization: How would you like it if I thought this napkin holder looked stupid and I said 'This is so teenage boy with a cheesy mustache.' Gay is such an over-used adjective for so many inanimate objects let's find a more relevent one shall we? Personally I vote for: That is so G.W. Bush. -
Oh! I love P!ink!!! Especially "So What". :catgirl:
Ookay there's a 180. Yeah 'So what is a great song. I also liked 18 Wheeler off of her Missunderstood CD and 'Hey Mr Presiodent with the Indigo Girls from I'm not Dead
The chart was a general observation, so it goes under the disclaimer too, I guess. I didn't want everyone saying "PERSONALLY I really don't like their music and think it is worse than normal pop stuff" because it would start to get annoying.
So... how dead would I be if I admitted I like Brittany Spears' new single? Not enough to buy the new CD, but I do like the song... I also liked Lucky. UH... and I like P!nk... I plan on buying her new CD
Don't lie, it's true. Disclaimer: this isn't aimed at anyone in the thread, just talking from experiences I've had with people when they find out I'm a JB fan. I understand why a lot of people hate the JB, mostly bc their fans are obnoxious and crazy as hell, but other than that the other reasons are not very valid. Saying they are "just another creation of Disney" is such a dumb argument, because that can be applied to most popular artists now except you replace 'Disney' with whoever their record label is. And it's not even like all music companies actually suck artists' souls away, it's something people like to say and run around with to justify their hate. Ngl from personal experience most people who say this to me annoy me, as they think they are superior and awesome because they listen to ~Radiohead~ or something. lol Lol seriously, people blow up about how crappy the Jonas Brothers' music is, but it's on par with most of today's popular artists' music. Granted, that still makes it mediocre music, but I love how people act like JB music is much worse than it really is. I've gotten a lot of looks of "wtf" and disgust when I say I love the Jonas Brothers, and it just annoys me. And then they find out that I also like "good" bands and the fact that people can enjoy a variety of music blows their mind. Also, to repeat what Clurr said. Calling any artist "talentless" is obnoxious.
I'm not going to lie, but I will say for myself it's just because I don't like the music. It's a presonal preference for me. I'm not going to shun you or make fun of you for liking them. I mean everyone has to have fans right?

Sexuality: What's right or wrong?
ChibiHorsewoman replied to chibi-master's topic in General Discussion
Right now the two sides are: 1) As homosexuals cannot procreate, sex is done purely out of lust, and gay marriage would be promoting lust.
Hey as long as you practice safe sex I'm all for promoting lust. Here's the deal: Homosexuality is going to happen whether you like it or not. Some people just experiment and move on. Others decide it's for them and logic and procreation be dammed. I say live and let live. Yes not my most thought out reply, but maybe one of my best. -
But wait, why the heck is this subject even in this topic. Here, let me try to fix the derailment.
I have to agree with the graph (and ignore the other stuff, because even though I hate Spongebob I do let my daughter watch it when I want some 'me time') The only time I've voluntarily watched the Jonas Brothers is when they were on Ellen.
Sorry, I just had to bring this up because I have recently become aquainted with some scientific facts that clearly refute this. You say you believe life begins at conception. A three-day-old embryo is a collection of 150 cells (a blastocyst). By comparison, a fly's brain has over 100,000 cells.
I have to agree with you on that. A fetus can't survive on it's own until near the end of the 2nd trimester around five months when they can breathe on their own and could continue to grow in an incubator. I'm not advocating abortion. And I'm not saying that premature babies face a lot more health issues and have under developed lungs as oposed to full term baby, but I'm saying that at five or six months of age the fetus actually resembles a human baby and not a tadpole or- as my newly pregnant co-worker explained it- a kidney. That's all I have to add on the subject... kinda. Seems that North Dakota has a vote on the ballot next month to be the first state to officially ban abortion except in the cases of rape or incest- I have to go back and check if the health of the mother is a factor. Anyone have an opinion on that?
