Date Movie. Worst 110 minutes of my life. And I had to pay $12 for it, too. So I basically paid at least $1 for every 10 minutes of ****. Never again.
That's when you go up to the ticket people and say: Hey, I know it's not your fault, but since you all can't give me those minutes of my life that I wasted and will never get back thanks to that movie, can I please have my money back? It works every time.
Twenty Eight
I'm only twenty-seven, can I still dole out the fashion do's and don'ts? Eh anyways on topic again.... I was probably a princess more times than I can count when I did go trick-or treating, I was also a witch one year when my brother was a devil, a bunny, a kitty a few times (my brother once went as a dog when I was a cat, a clown (now I have bozo phobia so no clown for me) and once I was Shy Violet from Rainbow Bright. My mom made me the costume and I still have it. Too bad now it's almost irrelevent because my mom made me the costume when I was five and now my daughter is four and I think she'd be able to wear it. I just need some purple yarn for a new wig, some white framed sunglasses, and some purple knee socks. She'd make such a cute color kid- I can even draw a purple star on her cheek. Yeah let's see for her first halloween my daughter was a duck. My mom had found a yellow fuzzy onesie in Pheonix. It had a hood with a duck bill on it and on the bottom it said: Quack and there was a cracked egg. Then another year she was a lady bug then for the past two years she was a kitty witch thanks to a costome I'd found in THe Children's Place. She even had rainbow print leopard print tights and a Halloween basket that was shaped like a cat. I have no idea what to do this year.
Well, alrighty then. it seems as if a lot of people aren't dressing up, that's sad...........so what's your favorite holiday and why? it seems to me that some people didn't say so.:animedepr
I can't say if I'm dressing up or not because 1.) I don't know if I'm working on Halloween or going out and 2.) I don't know the company policy for dressing up Favorite holiday? Well Valentine's day sucks and it doesn't matter if I'm married, single or dating because even my own boyfriend can't remember to get me something-not even a card! The day after Valentine's day is best because of discount candy. When I was in elementary school I thought that halloween was the best day ever because you got free candy and there was one house on my street that gave out king sized snickers every year. :animesmil Thanksgiving- at least the American Thanksgiving is good because you get to eat a lot and yell at the guys on TV. I don't know how Canadian Thanksgiving is because I have to miss the one at my boyfriend's house this year which is okay with me since I don't feel like being put on display (Come see the American! Swear to God that is what my boyfriend's mom will tell her neighbors) So maybe that's my favorite holiday because except for the food it doesn't stress you out and ruin your credit like Christmas can.

Well I'm thinking of dressing my daughter as a princess this year since she's become obsessed with princesses right now. :animesigh Must be the age/ For myself I haven't decided if I'll dress up or not since I'm probably working that day. I could just add a headband with something on it or wear a crown to work with my uniform. I'm not really sure how they do things at work yet sicne I've only been there for 2 months. So we'll see what happens. As for favorite holiday... I'll get back to you on that.

Okay I'll play, then I have to go watch that episode of Ellen I DVRed yesturday Catergory: Cartoon This character was left a record company and an orphanage/ shelter for girls by her late father. The house where the shelter is housed is falling apart around their ears so she goes to get money from the record company only to find out that it's been taken over by her father's less than honest business partner. There she meets her soon to be rivals. That same day getting home she finds someone has left a pair of earrings- which reveals that her father left her a super computer and the ability to create 'holograms' This gives her the idea to fight back and start a band with her friends thus launching a story that spanned three seasons, a shed load of music videos along with dolls and other merchandise. Answer:
Jem/ Jerrica Benton (Jem and the Holograms)

Bored, watching a video of Where Were You by Alan Jackson which made me think of the Museum of New York History in Albany New York with the 9/11 exhibit. So in order to get off that kick and start a new thread I decided to talk about museums. This can be local museums or museums you've visited. But yeah museums, seldom discussed but often visited. I guess as you all may or may not be able to guess the first museum I'm going to talk about is the Strong National Museum of Play because it's the only museum in the states dedicated to the study of play and it's a short drive from my house so I go there a lot (The season pass doesn't hurt either) my daughter and I love this place. It was originally just the Strong Museum and housed a toy museum (as mentioned in my Barbie vs Bratz thread) One History Place which is set up to be a turn of the last century kitchen (complete with a cast iron wood burning stove, pump sink and old style crank phone) an attic (with a lot of dress up clothes), a turn of the last century palour and a train complete with a ticket booth (And some model trains)- which takes some explaining, a Seaseme Street Exhibit and in the early 90's a replica Wegmans (local grocery store chain) Also upstairs with the toy museum was a time lab and an exhibit called When Barbie Dated GI Joe Growing up in the Cold War. In 2006 it got a complete overhaul and a lot of new exhibits including the Feild of Play which has a dual DDR game that you can play for free, Story Book Land/ Fairy Tale Land which has everything from sluething to HArry Potter to Cinderella's pumpkin and the Giant's house from Jack and the Beanstalk (and a lot of history and other stuff in between) and a butterfly garden called Dancing Wings. In December of this year they're getting a larger salt water fish tank. The Strong National Museum of Play is one of my favorite places here in Rochester especially in the colder months when it's nearly impossible to find a parking spot past 12 noon that's not in East Jesus. The place opens at either 10 or 11AM and is usually open until 5PM except for Fridays when it's open until 8PM. I can definately stay in there all day with me daughter- and not only to perfect my DDR play- which is still bad, but I am getting more coordinated. I guess the most interesting part of the museum is definately the different collections of toys and where they're housed. She'Ra Princess of power is not only on the second level in the toy museum- she's also in the feild of play as a super hero. One of the most recent additions other than the Bratz dolls have been Beanie Babies, Elmo and Sailor Moon dolls. Yes, Sailor Moon, right in there with My Little Pony and Barbie and the Rockers. Sadly no Jem and the Holograms. Oh man, now I've gone on like an advert for this place. But I do highly recommend it to anyone wishing to come for a visit. Eh I guess in my next post I won't be as exhuberant, but I will talk about more museums, including living history ones. So, anyone else?

First I used to hate running and I still hate running, but now I have to run because if I don't a resident could get outside then we have to file an incident report because that classifies as an elopement. Okay,I deal with the elderly and right now my sole focus is Alzheimers and dimensia- so there's a very good chance that my advice is wrong, but the fatigue could be due to iron deficency, which is common in women and can be solved with a supliment and a diet with more iron. You could also try to get more sleep which is what I tell most residents when they complain about being tired. I also add that running around all night doesn't do them much good either. The pain in your side- I'd say it's just from the running and maybe being out of shape with cardio? I know it happens to me a lot because I still don't do enough cardio. But like I said since you're not a geriatric, I have no bloody idea what's really wrong with you. For all I know you have a flesh eatting disease and if that's the case stay the hell away from me. -
Anyone who can afford it...
Okay, but just so you know there is no way you could afford me. So I can't love you and you most certainly can not love me.
Putting all the cynicism in this thread aside... the whole point of getting a job that pays more is so you can actually afford to do what you enjoy when you have time off. If you can also have a job that is what you really want to do then even better.
This could be why America is one of the least happiest countries in the world (Canada isn't that far behind) because we're stuck doing things we hate because we need the almighty paycheck (BTW- mine sucked and this coming week I only have 24hrs- anyone want a used PS2 and a DDR game w/ pad?) to pay off our bills and the debt we've ecrewed (is that the correct term?) while in school learning to do what we loath so we can make a living, pray for the weekend, and work ourselves into an early grave. (I almost did that last year doing what I love which is being an HHA- but 70 hours a week can be hell on you and your vehicle) I think the best thing that our government could do for us (besides increasing the minimum wage which would in turn increase everyone else's wages from hourly pay employees to salaried employees which would in turn increase spending and boost the economy) Would be to do what they've done in Denmark- besides the nationalized health care and bonuses for joining clubs and oh yeah the mandatory 4 weeks vacation- is to impose a mandatory 62% tax on everyone... I think I'm getting this right please correct me if I'm wrong, but in Denmark everyone everyone no matter what they make has to pay a tax of 62% on their earnings- which keeps everyone equal and avoids the whole 'keeping up with the Jones's ' syndrome. Yeah in purple and grey it sounds terrible, but Denmark is the happiest country in the world and this could be one of the reasons why.
When will you all understand? The almighty dollar rules your life. Surrender to it, worship it. Take a high paying job, even if you absolutely despise the work. After your long day at the office, drive home miserable and ragged in your Benz to your estate in Westchester. As you walk into your house, remember how much you regret marrying a dumb trophy wife. Then remember you can't divorce, as she'd take 50% of your assets, and how much it would tear apart your children. Eat your dinner (cooked with premium ingredients!), entertain your family with fake smiles and thin laughter. Maybe you get tired of them and take off to your country club, where you talk with other men who too hate their lives. Once you get home, you try to scrub your soul's emptiness away in your marble bathroom. Slide regretfully into bed, and realize you have no interest in your trophy wife and roll over in self-loathing. Wake up the next day at 5am, throw on your Givenchy suit, and stagger off to work. Your mortgage, country club membership, car note, and tuition (for your children) won't pay themselves, will they? At least you'll look hella good in your misery, hm?
Plus you can actually afford to buy the name brand anti depressants instead of those generics the other poor souls are popping. *sigh* Thesbians
I have a work-study job at my college, it's great. I sit there and do homework and get paid 8$/hour for it.
And to think some days I actually pwn you- I make 9.25$ an hour and usually I just talk and watch TV. Plus I don't have to pay for meals. Right now I'm pretty lucky- I have a job/career that I actually enjoy and it's very stable even in this economy. Which is really saying something. Okay I wish I made more money, but like James has said earlier the more money you earn the more responsibilities you have. So when you go into that thought you really have to wonder if the money is worth the stress and possible therapy sessions. My mom makes a lot more than my dad, but with that income also includes a lot of traveling sometimes on a few weeks notice and a lot of time away from home which meant having to give up one of her hobbies. She's also under a lot more stress than my dad. That's not to say that I at my hourly rate job don't have a lot of stress. Believe me I do. I don't know how many of you go to work every day wondering who you'll have to convince to come with you after trying to go through an emergancy exit or if you have to file an incident report because some resident broke your finger while you were trying to do personal care. But I do, but like I said I really enjoy my job and I feel like I'm making a small difference for people which is why I like health care. I'm also under the realzation that even something else I'd love to do and get paid for wouldn't make me a lot of money- whih is part of the reason why I don't pursue it any more than necessary. I want to try and write at least one book. But I think writing is a lot more stressful than cleaning up a naked man.
I guess I care very much about many of my friends, but I can't say I love them. Yes I know there's a difference between platonic love and actual love, but since I can't exactly define the line between deep care and platonic love, I'm going to say that I don't love them. (Just because I've always assumed that love is something you just know. Right?)
I tell my friends I love them in a purely I would never try anything except give you a hug kind of way. Which is probably about the same, but not directly how I feel for the residents at the senior living community I work at. Because my friends won't usually forget who I am the next time I see them- except for Becky but that's because I haven't seen her in like a year and we got into a huge fight back in March about who knows what.:animeswea I never really stopped to think about the different types of love. Romantic love is great and right now I have that, but you can survive without it. But love from your family or close friends is something that you can't really get along with out. And of course both kinds can be reciprocated. It's nice to have both, but it's easy to get along without someone who loves you just because you make them tingle a little.

New Members: Introduce Yourselves Here

Okay I'm going to pretend I'm social and say hi too. Welcome to the boards. -
I don't know why I wanted to do this thread- except it was in my head and wanted to come out during my shift tonight. So I held it in and waited for now to do it. I guess it's obvious just tell who you love and why. And I guess you don't have to just state the obvious. Just I don't know... give it a shot? Okay let's do the obvious first: I love my parents because they paid for me to come home with them. Actually that's a true statement because they adopted me- yeah, you see I was chosen... kinda. I love my daughter because she loves me no matter what as long as I pay attention to her and buy her things once in a while. YEah she'd probably love me even if I didn't buy her that pink umbrella with the butterfly on it, but I wanted to. I love my boyfriend- Lee because he tries his best to get along with my friends and he likes playing with Abby. Oh yeah and because he understands me. Finally I love who ever decided that Ballet FLats were a do because I really can't walk in heels and you can't ALWAYS wear sneakers. I love my ballet flats- I have four pairs, gold, grey, black and dark purple patent leather. So anyone else?
Prom Night,
Oh man I remember that movie my roommates in college made me sit through that movie. I thought it was going to be scary, but it was just... dumb the ending... yeah it was bad. I also thought the Hours was pretty bad- it was the first time I'd ever fallen asleep at a movie- I think I passed out for like an hour and when I woke up it was stiil on so I went and got my money back and ended up watching Dare Devil which wasn't much better IMHO. Let's see, I didn't like Blair Witch either- it could be because my friends and I were pretty much sitting with our noses to the screen in the theater. We were told by Amanda's brother that it was a good movie- but instead my friend Becky got motion sickness and when the movie was thankfully over we all went back and yelled at Amanda's brother. Lesson learned- don't trust your friend's siblings.
I love that you whipped out the dictionary to school my ***. I sincerely ask for a clarification on something that you said and you condescend to me. How typical. =P You still think that the christian faith has changed a reasonable amount since its creation... ok, why? Keep in mind that 2000 years is a long long time. ...Actually, nevermind. I really don't want to argue this point with you. It would be completely fruitless and i haven't got the time.
Hmm...:o sounds like you just dont want to reply since you've been PWNed... As for Christian faith it depends on the denomination and the follower's own personal beliefs as much as the religion itsself. But that discussion is for a different thread. *steering back to topic* I stil say that Comprehensive sex education in schools is a necessary evil that should be mandated because right now one in every four teenagers will be diagnosed with an STD (or STV if you prefer) So obviosly there needs to be more done than to just talk about STDs, and abstinence aren't enough. Schools need to be made to teach comprehensive sex ed in health classes for all ages. Of course as I've said before it's not soley the school's responsibility to teach students about sex. Parents should also be involved in it as well. I'd say that would be one of the main reasons that there's a rise in teen pregnancy and STDs

What do you usually eat for breakfast?
ChibiHorsewoman replied to Neptune's topic in General Discussion
I do not drink coffee. I don't like it at all. It makes me uneasy. If i'm ever tired and drink coffee i never feel more energetic. I just go a period of time feeling slightly uneasy then i'm tired again. Crap, i must be drinking the coffee wrong.
Sugar and flavoured creamer- preferably Irish Cream or Hazel Nut. Any other way and you are drinking it wrong. I never really got into drinking coffee until I got into health care- actually I remember exactly when I started- it was two years ago when I was jumping between working nights at the airport then my two week course for being an HHA- I needed something to get me going and found coffee. I also got offered it a lot when I worked in Home Care- one lady's husband used to make French Press every morning :catgirl: That was good. Off topic sometimes if we have it in the house I'll eat a pulled pork sandwhich for breakfast or jasmine rice with honey when I have the time and patience. -
I eat coffee. Lots and lots of coffee - slices of coffee. There is no such thing as too little coffee.
Rose is that you??? Sorry a resident yesturday told me that her coffee took priority over me vaccuuming up a mess on a carpet. I do agree that coffee is a very important part of my day- if my day starts anywhere before 9AM or if I have to pull a double. Which reminds me after this post I'm leaving to buy some coffee because I have to work from 3PM-7AM. But anyways without coffee life just has no meaning. Usually breakfast depends on me- if I'm hungry and lazy I'll have cereal or a toaster waffle. If I'm working the day shift at work I eat whatever the cook prepared for the residents and staff (Last Saturday he made omlets and bacon) If my daughter is up and in a good mood I make her 'cakecakes' because she can't say pancakes yet. Sometimes I do tend to skip breakfast- but that's only if I slept through the morning- like today prepping for my double I woke up dropped my daughter off at daycare then came back home and slept til noon. -
How'd you come up with your username?
ChibiHorsewoman replied to Lunar's topic in General Discussion
My user name is a throw back from the days when I was still married- yeah I think after this post I may beg for a name change, except I use it on Fanfiction too. Okay the name Chibi horswoman is from when I started watching anime and my ex-husband decided that since I'm shorter than him he'd refer to me as Chibi- the horsewoman thing is just because I ride horses and I'm a woman. Ha ha ha Now that I think of it the Chibi thing is some kind of oxymoron since I'm taller than some of the women I work with and a lot of the residents I take care of and I have an inch on my boyfriend, but I guess it will still fit. -
Exactly what everyone needs to do, and not just 30% of the population either. I know protests are still ongoing, but, they don't go anywhere, there is more that we should be doing, bigger protests that give a far more clear sign that we will not take it anymore. Like I've said, I don't expect something like that to happen, not without some serious stimuli.
Actually the 2004 election had one of the highest turn outs ever- the only issue with that was that they were mostly conservative republicans who were brought out to vote on an issue that the government has no business being in. I think that if you continuously try to make changes- maybe start small like in your own community as Obama did then continue to move on to a national level and get more and more people involved in what you want to do and make your issues known that you can indeed make progress.
