While out dress shopping Sunday I found the perfect 'hideous brides maids' dresses'. Too bad the picture is on my mobile.

One of my cousins wants to celebrate her 30th birthday by jumping into Lake Ontario on Valentine's Day for the Polar Plunge. In her defense it's for the Special Olympics, but seriously now!
Both! :D I was sorely tempted to learn the words and sing that instead of my Alma Mater for my graduation, but I was good.
Here ya go, in both languages: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzuOSaN5CQU&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0Y3L0s1m2o&feature=related I just hope the tags work because I can't get them to work most of the time :animesigh
I want it to snow again. ._.
I'll send you mine you won't even have to pay for shipping.
I just can't keep up with you. What does chocolate pudding have to do with your landlord's responsibility to keep the sidewalks clear?
My bad, the chocolate pudding actually went along with the crazy guy in my off campus apartment. Before he'd left he'd squirted our dishwashing liquid on the kitchen floor, tore up the small living area and then threw pudding. Yeah, community colleges have their nut jobs and I did in fact press charges since the guy wouldn't leave when he was asked to do so. I threw him out physically. Also my landlord wasn't happy that we'd gotten the cops to come in the first place. Too friggin' bad.
Lucky you. I don't know the words, but I sure as hell know the tune. It's the exact same as my Alma Mater. -_-
I know the words- do you want French or English? The French is completely different from the English even down to translation. And it doesn't go Oh Canada oh Canada how lovely are your maple trees like one of my co-workers thought. Don't ask

Okay so it's less than two weeks now til the opening ceremonies of the big game being played in my in-laws' province of British Columbia and well nothing is up here yet. So I've decided to try to breathe some new life into this forum with the Olympic thread. The most interesting part is that the premier of British Columbia has been doing so much to get Vancouver and nearby Whistler ready for the games and has been doing some money raising by making special edition license plates- I saw my fair share of them in the Central part of the province. Well those and a bunch of stuffed animals in the Zeller's department stores. Now I'm kicking myself for not buying a few. There's also a problem with the weather. Both Vancouver and Whistler have been too warm and rainy to create snow- no snow means no out door sports. Maybe they could take a plane up to Ft. Fraiser? They've snow up there. And mountains that'd put the ones in Whistler to shame. One strange thing about the torch run when it got into British Columbia (although maybe it's not strange since this is only the first time I've been talking to people in the area where the Olympics will be held?) is that the torch has almost been making a circle around the province. I talked to my fiance on Tuesday and he said the torch runners came by his school in Kelowna which is 4 hours north of Vancouver and when I talked to his mom she'd said they were running it through Canoe which is five and a half hours north of Vancouver and Friday I heard it went through Kamloomps which is 3 hours north of Vancouver. Ah well as long as it gets there in time. So I guess I'm wondering if anyone has any controversy or just wants to talk about the games when they do happen. I just can't wait to see the hockey games and see if the games were worth the tax hikes.

The Princess and the Frog (Dec. '09)
ChibiHorsewoman replied to The Spectacular Professor's topic in Noosphere
*hits revive* Okay I saw this movie twice- with my daughter and we both loved it. There were of course some racial undertones, but those were used to give more of a setting to the film itsself IMHO. Also to add a little bit more to the racial insesitivity and the stereotyping thing- a lot of the Bayou dialect is more Creole/ Acadian IE:Raymond (Ray) the lightning bug. It was nice to have CG used just as an added feature instead of for the whole movie because while it's nice to have those (Finding Nemo= ♥) but the old 80's kid in me craves the oldfashioned animation. I'm glad that Disney finally created a princess for the newer princess generation who was doing something for herself instead of sitting around slaving for others and saying: Some Day my prince will come. Nope Tiana got up and worked her butt off for her dream. Oh and the Ne-yo song - Something I Never Knew I needed and Ma Belle Evangeline are 2 great songs that I can't get over. -

Here's another good one; my fiance and my ex husband keep asking me about things I'd either said or did anywhere from 3 years to 4 hours ago and most of the time I've no bloody idea what they're talking about. Like a few days ago my ex sent me an IM wanting me to fill out this form that I'd appreantly filled out for my '06 taxes or '07 taxes. I'm like well I don't remember the form but OK send it over. I forgot about the form til today because I'd gotten my W2s from all my jobs and was about to do my taxes- so I showed it to my mom and looks like my ex sent me the form where he'd get to claim our daughter (I'm like he's got 2 other kids claim those!) But I still don't remember saying I'd sign whatever form he was sending me. Then tonight when I got back from ice skating my fiance IMed me and asked me what I was asking him about earlier today. Honestly I don't remember. -

Besides if you do kill me my daughter goes to the crazy side of the family and YOU DON'T WANT THAT! (It's bad enough to make me type caps) And it could be worse, you could get 'Oh Canada' stuck in your head! *hugs Chibi#2 for dear life* Oh my ex mother in law has 9 cats and feels a need to get more. She's also on a lot of government money and has teeth that remind me of grout. Yes I am in fact a mean person. :smirk:

I almost forgot: College Freshman year- Beware the crazy stalker guy you're overly flirty roommate invites into your apartment. Chocolate pudding will indeed stick to doors and your landlord is in fact an *** and won't be thrilled by your voicemail message insisting that he salt the sidewalks so you don't fracture your ankle on your way to class. And Tape person, yes we did this thread a few years ago. But I need a cure for boredum.
I can't make heads or tails of what you're saying here. Also, re: your signature, necromancy is not the same thing as necrophilia.
My fiance woke me up at midnight and I was having a heck of a time getting back to sleep. But the basic subject of the thread is: Have you ever stopped to think and forgot to start again. Or been somewhere where you forgot something that should've been obvious. Like 5 years ago when I was pregnant with my daughter I went into Sprint to get a mobile phone and with all the phones around the store I completely forgot what it is I was in there for. Thankfully my 7 month pregnant belly explained the sometimers for me. Also I copied my signature from something a friend of a friend said on her Facebook page. I don't know if anyone was trying to make sense. -
Okay after this I swear I'm going to bed. All this thread is about is the thirteen things (more or less) that you've learned during your 13 years (more or less) in school. If you went to daycare or pre school or college you'll have more. If you didn't or you're still in school you'll have less. If you attened school outside of the US please be kind and explain some stuff for us thick headed Americans. Here are mine: 1.) Daycare: Being in the daycare next to the ice cream place doesn't always mean you'll get ice cream 2.) Pre-School: Everything is a portrait- be it badly drawn trees or a funky looking porcupine. 3.) Kindergarten: (Neil Armstrong) Even if no one cares that your foster brother is now your real brother tell them. Also screw it if your teacher tells you you're supposed to draw a circle around the object not outline it. 4.) First Grade: (Neil Armstrong) Mean teachers can totally ruin school for you but hey at least you get to go to a new one. 5.) Second Grade (Nazareth Hall) You go to school with your brother now, uniforms suck and there is in fact a bus hierarchy. Uniforms for gym and class are yucky. 6.) Third Grade (Nazareth Hall) Some teachers will tell you about all the bad things they did when they were young, there's class hierarchy too.Ducks look really freaky when they're first born. And the best way to clean off your eraser is on the carpet. Uniforms for gym and class are still yucky. 7.) Fourth Grade (Nazareth Hall) It's not weird to have your aunt's teacher as your teacher. And the 'Miss America wave' is more appropriate than saying you need to pee. Uniforms still yucky. 8.) Fifth Grade: (Nazareth Hall) Girls can be meaner than boys no matter what anyone says. 9. Sixth Grade: (Nazareth Hall/ Hillside) Eleven year olds don't really think of Karma, but it does suck to be the odd one out. Time outs are odd, but you could be in one soon. It's hard to explain to people where exactly you go to schoo. 10.) seventh grade: (Hillside) It's still hard to explain to people where you go to school. Having no homework will come back to bite you in the butt and cursing a lot can get you suspended. 11.) Eighth grade: (Hillside) Being in a small (6 person) class where the guys are usually suspended for days at a time is actually in your favour. Here comes homework. 12.) ninth through twelfth grade: (Gates Chili) No matter how many times you explain it to the idiot down the street the special ed kids aren't in the non existant school basement. You don't have two lunch periods either, but he's too dumb to know that. Some popular people have way too many insecurities but they don't like it when their target stands up to them to point it out. People are dumb enough to think that you can be both a lesbian and stealing someone's boyfriend (seriously get your rumors cross referenced kai?) That head principal and you will meet again and Karma will be good to you- you just don't know it yet. Your 9th/10th grade math teacher is indeed a moron and so are most of the school heads- especially when they think that having your class go around in a circle to say why they hate you is a good idea and you shouldn't get mad at that. That ex boyfriend of yours will one day become a crazy stalker. Being the smart one in a class of boys can make everyone upset. And putting up with four years of crap can make you admirable and a better person. (Provide you don't do yourself in and have a great friend to vent to) 13.) Freshman year of college FLCC: Believe it or not your classmates will complain to your roommates about the fact that you ask questions in class then your roommates will complain. 14.) Two week NYS HHA certification class: Asking questions and being a talkative people person can be in your favor. Not studying gets you a 98 out of 100 on your New York state certification final but studying probably would've gotten you 100. So there's mine, I'm going to bed for another few hours. TTFN.

Also known as sometimers. My friend from my old job and I were talking last night when I told her about having to work at both jobs tomorrow and she asked me 'when did you start having two jobs. I've worked at the same assisted living home for a year as a per diem worker and she also helped watch my daughter for me when I had an interview with that place. So she was like: Oh... yeah I forgot you know how it is when you work where we work. (Which hey, it's true.) When I reminded her. So now I'm wondering- yet again because it's twenty to three in the morning here and I need to go try to get back to sleep so I'm too lazy to make a new topic- has anyone else ever had moments like that? I had one the other day where I was about to ask one of my Italian speaking residents how she was doing but I completely forgot how to ask in Italian and ended up asking her in French instead- yeah she looked at me funny. But hey in my defense speaking bits of proper conversation in three languages can be confusing.

Now I love Chibi #2 as much as the rest of us, but Chibi you know you've said some really crazy stuff. *cough* Cakesters from under the bed *cough* BUt we still wuv you. I don't know why, but the questions the boarder guards ask always crack me up. Especially since they're holding your passport which has all the information they're asking. But this was the most recent: Tuesday my daughter's pre-K class went on a field trip to a pet shop and when I picked her up from school she told me "Julia got bit by a rat" I figured okay yeah- she also said she was going to be "Jofes" in the school Christmas pagent. So then Wednesday I took her to school and one of her teachers was saying she'd loaded the pictures. The mother of the girl who got bit (who was taking it pretty well since obviously it was an accident and her daughter's alright) asked if the picture of the rat was taken before or after it had blood running down it's face. For some reason I found that funny. Also there was an incident back in September when Lee's cousin told me her mom was worried about having a cook out when I was up in British Columbia because she wasn't sure if they babecued down in the states. I almost fell on the kitchen floor laughing at that.

Am I allowed to beat my fiance for waking me up at midnight just because it's 9pm where he lives? I've now been up for 2 hours! Oh and in other news we got the recovering from GI virus residents drunk at work today :catgirl:

My daughter likes to plan ahead. She's already packed her suitcase for our holiday in British Columbia. My left calf FINALLY stopped hurting non stop for about a week (after bugging me since Thanksgiving) then decided to start up again TONIGHT!
You needn't worry about such things. As I explained earlier, the Mega Wal-Mart is on its way. I'll talk to the bossman about getting you a reserved parking space though. No promises.
We have a ghetto-fied Super Wal*Mart down from where I live. It's in the same plaza as a Family Dollar, a Staples and an Eckerd. The randomness comes when I tell you back when I was a kid the parking lot was a mini mall and where the stores are was an itty bitty playground. What can I say? I live in the ghetto-burbs. My friend Cheydelle thinks that someone needs to create a video game where your sole purpose is to run people over. No missions, no penalties, just running people over. Of course this is the same girl who told me that after a month of playing Grand Theft Auto and just running people over she got the sudden urge to do the same thing when she was out driving with someone. Maybe that wouldn't be such a good idea, but I am so glad she only has her learner's permit. :animesigh

Anime What has anime taught you?

Building on vlad chan's post: Even if you're a genius or insanely famous you'll still settle for going to a regular public high school with people whose breakfast has a better chance of passing an entrance exam and who are as ordinary as dry toast- Mostly Sailor Moon, but I'm sure other anime will also fit this lesson. Switching genders or pretending to be another gender is completely acceptable and understandable if it's necessary for the plot- Sailor Moon and Ouran High School Host Club No matter how much school you miss you'll have no trouble catching up and passing all your classes- Inu Yasha -
