1.
There should be more to having a child than a desire to pass one's genes on. I'm going to assume you mean that he wants the opportunity to be a father. Otherwise, for a woman to have a baby just so his 'genes' can be passed on is silly and degrading to the woman in question. As a parent, it's important to take into consideration whether or not you have the time or means to take care of a child. And one would hope that people take that into consideration before getting pregnant. Though I'm sure many do and take precautions to prevent pregnancy. But I'll tell you right here and now, there's nothing worse than forcing motherhood on someone who is not ready. Being a parent is extremely demanding even with a full partner to help with raising the kids. And I've been in both situations, married and divorced. Having kids to raise as a divorced mother is not easy. And I only have one left at home! But remember, though things are changing, more often than not it's the mother who gives up many of her aspirations and dreams to become a mother. It's something I'm happy with but for others it's not so simple. I'm going to throw the ball back into your court guys. If you want to be a father that badly, then you had better be sure she wants to be a mother as well. Not every woman out there wants to have children, it's not the ultimate achievement like it's often portrayed as in religion. So just as someone so crudely put it about not opening one's legs in the first place, I'll be equally as blunt. Don't be so quick to be the guy who is between said legs.
I'm just going to second what Aaryanna's mom said. Because it's the truth Having a child is a huge responsibility. And if you're not ready for it then you'll get overwhelmed beyond belief. Trust me I know- and I never had the benefit of an extra set of hands to help me directly with my daughter. Yes, bringing up a child is an amzing thing because you get to watch them grow and contribute to their up bringing. But there are times where you just want to sit in a corner and start rocking because you feel like you're about to lose your mind. There I finally poked my head back into this chat.
 2.
Yeah, you'd wonder what would happen if they were exposed to a real celebrity...
I know. Hey, I know that they're really from the UK and everything, but would you consider taking the Beckhams back and giving us Sean Connory?
 3. I agree with Meggido that 'Still a kid' Is a very generic term. Because there are a lot of anime (Princess 9, Sailor Moon, Fushigi Yugi, Magic Knight Rayearth Ect ect) where the main characters are still considered kids. But since there's no set defination, I'll just do the best I can. 1.) Naruto (From Naruto 12-13 in part one 15 in part two) 2.) Chibi Usa (Sailor Moon- 8 years old) 3.) Pudding Fong/ Mew Pudding (11-12 years old in Tokyo Mew Mew) 4.) Kinomoto Sakura (Card Captor Sakura- Ten years old in the beginning of the series) 5.) Kuruta Sana (Kodocha- eleven years old) There I even threw a guy in there.
 4. Don't laugh but I did think of one thing I'm superstitious about... Whenever I say something is or could happen which would be a bad or negative thing I knock on wood. But I don't feel too bad because the lady who was my lawyer for my custody case is the same way.
 5. I'm about to add a new band to this list. Gym Class Heros Ugh! I hate them so friggin' much! And they get an over abundance of air time here in Western New York because they just happen to be from Geneva which is 40 minutes from Rochester. They give New Yorkers and western New York bands (IE Goo Goo Dolls- yeah make fun of me , but I like them) a bad name. Really guys, no one cares about your girlfriend who isn't much of a girlfriend so shut up and go tip some cows or something. Thus ends my rant. I have to go back to work
 6.
For some reason, I got a mental picture of the flag raising scene at Iwo Jima reading that... Even creepier, my birthday is on it's anniversary...
Well happy belated birthday Gavin, but your timing is off... the flag raising was prior to the opening ceromony. Gah! Now I'm doing it!
 7.
Oh, we're also the murder capital of the United States. Love from the Big Easy.
Oh damn. And we're (Rochester) Only the Murder capital of New York
 8.
Those Don't forget ... Chris Daughtry .
Oh God! Can I just say that I made this huge mistake of buying that one CD of his... every single friggin' song sounds the same and it's one more whiney ballad after another. Oh damn... I would have been better off wasting that money on gas. I think someone should just stick him in a box with Celine Dion and mail them to Nunavut or some where else far away.
 9.
That's weird. I was just comtemplating going to the DMV this fall to get a Michigan driver's license. Thing is, I don't have a permanent address in Michigan (I live in a dorm, since I'm a college student.) and live overseas. Would having a dorm address be enough to get a license? And how many months would I have to wait?
I'd advise getting an MI state license just in case you're pulled over and the cops want some kind of ID. Even if you're not technically a resident of the state you're living in it's a good idea to have one of yuour current adress so you can avoid being ticketed for something stupid. It shouldn't take more than a few weeks- they give you an interim licnense between that time- and having a dorm address is enough. Because think of it this way, a lot of military personnel live in barracks instead of off or on post housing and a lot of single ones like to get new vehicles with their paychecks. But you have to have a license of the state you live in to get a car. So if a barracks address is adaquate then so is a dorm address. But just a little FYI you have to surrender your current license because you're not allowed to have a license (or other State ID) in more than one state. I hope this helped
 10.
I've already had cosmetic surgery. I got two cysts about the diameter of a dime removed from next to my right eye. Before you think bad things about me, the one closest to my eye was still growing, and within another year of me having it, it would've pressed up against my eyeball and I'd have more problems. It cost me a grand total of $15. :)
Wow you vain little diva you. I meant more along the lines of I don't understand why perfectly gorgeous people decide to get something tweeked. Necessary surgeries I understand. For example, one of my aunts is a mail carrier and a few years ago she was attacked by a dog and had her leg bitten up so bad that she needed plastic surgery to make it look somewhat normal. The scarring is still there, but the leg looks better than it did when the stitches came out.
 11.
Well, I would've included those verses, but I actually believe that part of leviticus, everyone knows natural bodily functions and emissions such as menstration are disgusting and unclean.
Yeah I'd better cancel that trip to Toronto in October. Wouldn't want to make it a double sin. :animeblus
 12. Hmm Well known anime and Manga/Anime artists? Damn... I'm not going to score well on this one. 1.) Watase Yu (She's been around since the early 90's and has created such Manga/anime as Fushigi Yugi and Ayashi No Ceres. Other Manga include Alice 19th and Imadochi) 2.) Hayao Miyazaki ( Created Spirited Away, Kiki's Delivery Service, and Princess Mononoke among others) 3.) Clamp (Creators of such works as Rayearth, Card Captor Sakura, Clover, Angelic Layer, Chobits and X/1999) Yeah and I can't think of any more. Unless I cheat.
 13.
So there you have it. Eating Shellfish, wearing clothing of mixed materials,Tattoos, Shaving your sideburns, and eating meat with blood in it (Im sure some of you fundamentalist Christians occasionaly enoy a rare steak) are also condemned in Leviticus, but no ones gives a **** about them.
Hey, you forgot the verses about menstrating women and not touching the skin of a pig. So that means that all (American) football players are sinners... not just that one who was arrested for dog fighting.
 14. Oh Lord I am watching a show about America's Obsession with plastic surgery right now and I have to start a thread on it because I'm curious... yet again. Besides I think this may be one of the few topics we haven't done in a while. The show started out talking about teen age girls getting boob jobs instead of cars for graduation. It's like dear El how vain can you get? And it just kept escalating- like when they ended the show by talking about women who lunch and surgeries to shorten your toes so you can fit into your shoes. Now I'm not going to say that I've never considered cosmetic surgery (and the rest of you had better be honest about it) but I'm not so obsessed that I'll go through with it. For one thing the recovery time varies and for another cosmetic surgery is just that- SURGERY! I'm not against it, but I doubt I'll ever go through it. Unless someone gets me on Extreme Makeover. Although for me I think Biggest Loser is more my thing. So thoughts?
 15. I'm about an 8 right now. Mostly because I won full custody of my daughter yesturday and I did this funny picture of my boyfriend to perk two of my other friends up. The only reason I'm not at a ten is because I'm having a big fight with my friend of twelve years who insists I shouldn't be mad at her for feeling like she's been letting me down a lot lately because as she says she has a life. Well excuse me I have one too, but I'd try to be more supportive if I knew she was having issues and I try to call more than twice a month. Also I've been gaining weight... I need to stop that.
 16.
Do you also follow the passage that says you can stone disobedient children?
You can do that? Damn... and here where I live you can't even spank a kid without getting dirty looks and a CPS investigation. Personally I don't care what people do in their personal lives as long as it doesn't harm anyone. Love happens. You can't choose to who you're attracted to because it's a genetic thing. And Break God didn't destroy Sodom and Gommorah because of their homosexual inhabitants. He destroyed them because of their treatment to some prophets and visitors. PS I like repeat threads because sometimes people's veiws change on a subject and there are new members who missed the last thread on this topic.
 17.
Anyway, I personally try not to hold my opinion toward the members of a band in regards to how I think of their music.
I agree with you on that DB. For example, I don't exactly like Faith Hill as much as I used to after she said some really nasty things about Carrie Underwood at last year's CMA's and not too fond of Toby Keith because of some things he's said about Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks (as well as the fact that he doctored a photo of her posing with Saddam Hussein after the comment she made about Bush in 2003) But I still like most of their music and personal comments aside to some of my other favorite artists, they're probably decent people. And now I have to go to work... Dammit late again. PS Thanks for a few pages back.
 18. Oh I can do this! Really.... I hope. 1.) Kino Makoto/ Sailor Jupiter (Sailor Moon) 2.) InuYasha (Inu Yasha) 3.) Hiiro Yui (MS Gundam Wing- The guy reset his own leg!) 4.) Goku (DBZ) 5.) Vash the Stampede (Trigun) 6.) Aang (Avatar the Last Airbender- Ok technically not an anime, but I wanted to throw it in there.)
 19.
She said unintelligent things about music, I pointed her out. Does...anybody actually know what emo is? It's screamo. Wowwwww. Research. Wiki. Sorry, ChibiHorseWoman, but you shouldn't have said anything like that without actually knowing what the hell you were talking about.
So we go back to where since I don't like your music I'm unintelligent. But I shouldn't get mad when you say that right? It's just an opinion. If I called you ill mannered because you don't like country music and tell you to do research you shouldn't get mad because it's my opinion. Let's see what else... oh don't tell me that I'm not allowed to form an opinion on something I don't like before doing research. How do you know that maybe just maybe I did listen to metal for a while and have decided that I don't like it. And this ends my defending myself.... I have bigger things to worry about than someone I don't know say that I don't know anything about music Hey can I say I hate elevator music? Or Soft rock? It puts me to sleep. Certain pop music makes me want to throw up... Oh yeah! I know a genre that I hate... Children's music. Anyone who has a toddler can probably relate with me. So far the only decent toddler songs are from my daughter's Philadelphia Chicken CD... and two other ones from the same publisher.
 20. Jello Sugar Free chocolate pudding has my vote. It's almost as good as Green Tea... almost. And Buttermilk biscuits are slowly making a comeback. Those and the Garlic cheddar ones they have at Red Lobster... I can make them myself just as good. Okay I'm making myself hungry. Must forage.
 21.
My parents use the term "got his foot stuck in a bear trap". Obviously, you don't anything about music, and you have the nerve to degrade anything by the way of it's singing? Not to mention that you refer to it as metal. Cough* Cough* Typical* cough Cough* Tsk. Tsk. Actually on the issue of RJA, the rest of the album is still bad, yet way better than Face Down or False Pretense. Which album have you been listening to?
Wait? Because you can't see that I changed paragraphs and I don't listen to what you listen to means that I don't know anything about music? That's a bit rude. And I didn't degrade, I gave my opinion. If you don't like it, fine but you don't have to get your shorts in a knot over it. I never refered to RJA as metal... if anything they're another Emo-esq band with bad hair. And if you want to call me out on that too then I think you need a new outlet for your anger. But I never said they were metal so don't get up on your little pedastal and act like you know everything. Opinions happen. Heh anyway... trying to think of who else I don't like... mostly it's more various songs than actual artists. Aside from the screaming and the growling I'm quite open minded.
 22.
Not really, there are three local stations and a few nationally broadcasted ones and each of them don't really have a set genre which they draw music from. The closest one to me is mostly listened to by rural people, hence it's getting more and more country music playing.
We have a few stations like that. Since a lot of Country music (like some of the stuff I listen to) has become cross-over (IE: Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, Faith Hill - had to put those in together) some of the pop and mix stations have been playing country music. One thing that sucks about my city- other than the fact that the college station (90.5) doesn't come in too well and neither does the new country station. Our Alternative station plays two different talk shows Monday - Friday. So you get the 90's from 1100-1300 then some recent mix of stuff from 1300-1400 and finally more music from 1700 on.
 23.
Perhaps it's accepted, but that doesn't make it right. The unborn kids in those cases have done nothing to deserve execution.
That's a fair statement Gavin, I'll give you that. But I think abortion in cases such as rape or incest is considered acceptable because it has a chance to lessen the psychological problems that would occur while carrying the child of your attacker. Yes, the unborn child didn't do anything to warrant the abortion, but the mother also didn't do anything to warrant being raped. So why should she be punished for it? Okay adoption, can I have a show of hands for how many members on this board are either 1.) adopted 2.) Parents and/or 3.) adopted and a parent? I don't know how relevent this topic is to the discussion, but I'm adopted and I've gone through nine months of pregnancy and labor (twelve hours and I highly recommend an epidural ) I can't immagine any harder decision (other than abortion) than giving a part of yourself up for adoption. I bet it takes a lot of soul searching and a lot of thought to willingly give up a child either way.
 24.
Country and western is played way too much on my local radio station, seriously you'd think you were in Texas rather than Ireland.
So you don't have specific stations for country? My city finally has two different stations but one doesn't come in too well. That is actually one thing I miss about the south- each city had four or five different country stations. So do some of the more rural areas up here. I'm about to say 'What about Keith Urban?'... but he's from Australia.
 25.
(Man, I wish we could decide whether or not to have our periods.:shifty:)
If you take one of the many birth control pills out there and skip the placebo pills you can avoid having a period all together. Also some of the other options such as implants have about the same effect. You may experiance some spotting, but nothing too major. This reminds me that I need birth control.... a 6 day period is just too much for me
