Would you rather? version 3.0
ChibiHorsewoman replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in General Discussion
Would you rather... Lose your vision and be blind for life? OR Lose your hearing but still be able to see? I know which one I would choose...
Okay... steering clear of DB's post *shudders* I'd rather lose my hearing. There are a lot of benefits to sign language, you can talk about someone else and they'd never know it. Plus I can still draw, read, ride horses and watch my daughter grow up. okay so would you rather: Go on America's (Or Britain's) Got Talent and show the entire country that you don't have any Or Go on American Idol and be reduced to tears by Simon? I don't know which one I'd rather do. -
I miss this thread and I wanted to bring it back. So I decided that I'd do it. You know the drill. You have two choices and you HAVE TO choose one. And then you should try to tell everyone why. So without further ado Would you rather: Have your personal life videotaped without your knowledge then posted on youtube for everyone to see? or end up at a sporting event buck naked and have to sing your country's national anthem for everyone to see? Yes, I'm sorry that these are the choices.
ChibiHorsewoman, Ireland rocks, and it might be contagious after all, which isn't so bad; Gaelic is one of my better accents. Oh, and we obviously don't share the same taste in television.
I'll have to tell my friend who helped translate this phrase that Quebec French is basically universal. I'm learning French right now. My accent's pretty good, but my pronounciation leaves much to me desired.... I think. Plus my friend doesn't like my spelling most of the time. :animesigh I'll do someone else later, I'm late for work. Vive les Irlandaise!

Okay bear with me, I'm tired so I may not explain this correctly. But what I'm trying to have done here is that the next person who posts will try to guess what my stuff says about me and then we'll see how close they get and everything... then someone else does the same thing. The process is very simple... I hope. Okay let's get this show on the road.

I have to do this thread because one of the local car dealerships runs the most annoying low budget commecials ever! Their most recent one involves this skinny guy with a guitar playing that rally song off key while the fat guy keeps chanting Huge. It's not only dumb and annoying, it's also off key! So now i have to ask, what are some annoying commercials that you (due to complete lack of live tv and the ability to fast foreward through commercials) have had to sit through?

No I'm not posting in the wrong forum. I was in Best Buy today and found two DVDs for Peach Girl. First I was in shock, then I was bummed because I can't buy them until Friday. But I'm glad that it finailly became an anime. For anyone who doesn't know...(what were you hiding under a rock?) Peach Girl is about this girl Momo Adachi who gets bullied for a while by her supposed friend Sae Kashiwagi and the entire student body except for Kiley Okiyasu. I'm really glad that it's finally an anime and I intend on buying both DVDs this weekend and watching them. If anyone else has seen this anime, go ahead and share your opinions.

Now when I say old movies I don't necessarily mean the black and white films, but I do mean anything from the early 90's and back. Maybe even ones that were filmed before you were born. Or even before the invention of the VCR- which for many of us is about the same thing. :catgirl: As for myself: 1.) Some Like it Hot staring Marilyn Monroe and Jack Lemmon I haven't seen this one in a while so if anyone sees the DVD somewhere or knows where I can get it let me know. The jist of this movie is that in order to hide from these two gangsters (I think that's what it was) Jack Lemmon and his friend disquise themselves as women and join an all female band. I think what you had there is one of the first movies with cross dressers 2.) Clothesline Alley with Mary Pickford I can't remember the entire title of the movie, but I know it starred Mary Pickford and it was a silent movie. It was the first silent film I ever watched. I just wish they showed more of the lines because you know that the actors were saying more than: Oh look Mary's getting gay with some fella. 3.) Young Frankenstein- I don't know who was in it This was just a hilarious take on Mary Shelley's (?) Frankenstein. I hope TCM or AMC airs it again 4.) E.T. Staring Drew Barrymore (which I can't spell) Who doesn't love ET? Or remember that bike scene or tried to heal someone with their finger. Phone home! 5.) Pretty Woman Staring Julia Roberts, Richard Gere and Jason Alexander: This was my first R Movie. Of course watching it now and comparing it to what passes for PG-13 it's hard to believe that this was an R movie. So, what are some of your favorites?

I've finally decided to post in my own thread again. I even found a picture of my cat.. well two of them. I'm sorry if they're bluirry, but they were taken with my web cam. I'll try to find more of the dogs. And for the record, I was not trying to trap Aaryanna and Lunox.. My brother's dog totally pwns your dog.

I'm just going to come out and say it. right now my theme song is Guilty in Here by Miranda Lambert. It'd take too long to explain my reasoning. But here are the lyrics "Guilty In Here" God knows I tried everything I could To stay inside tonight But that boy's like a sore in your mouth That you just have to fight This number one is shakin' hands With numbers two and three Is it guilty in here or is it just me I made a point of not mixin' Love and pleasure in my life Daytime boys and nightime boys Usually don't see eye to eye But I've been on a roll of late And they're all on their knees Is it guilty in here or is just me What became of all the boys Who only want one thing Will someone tell me what I'm doin' wrong 'Cause the good ones all got wedding rings And the young ones are just too dumb I don't think I have any more Room underneath my thumb Maybe after all the ends do justify the means Is it guilty in here or is it just me [Chorus] 'Cause the good ones all got wedding rings And the young ones are just too dumb I don't think I have any more Room underneath my thumb Maybe after all the ends do justify the means Is it guilty in here or is it just me Is it guilty in here, maybe it's just me
I also regularly wear my hair in pigtails and top it off with some cat ears. *thumbs up!*
Yes, and I have red hair and freckles and go out to get drunk every weekend and hunt leprechans. Hmm foriegn languages. My family is 5th generation Irish/Dutch/German so I don't have any alternative languages. I have had different clients though who were either from Germany or Italy and still speak in their native tongue or had parents who constantly yelled at them in Italian. But that never happened to me. However I do try to speak Italian and German (my scant knowlege of it) with my Italian and German clients. And I try to speak Spanish with my daughter's babysitter. I'm currently trying to learn French. But right now my only teacher is a friend from Quebec. So any help with that would be greatly appreciated.

I Forgot What You People Look Like (Image Heavy)
ChibiHorsewoman replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in General Discussion
Oh man, do you really want to see this? Heh, oh well... okay let me find some stuff. Me and 1/8 of my gang I'm the one in the purple shirt. -
Hmm top five anime known for their comedy? 1.) Azumanga Daioh- There's really no plot, one of the characters (I forgot her name) is convinced that Chiyo chan's pigtails come off or that she can fly with them, there's that perverted teacher, and the girl's homeroom teacher is strange too. 2.) Comic Party- I just know it's an anime. I've only watched it once. 3.) Avatar the Last Airbender- While technically not an anime, it has a lot of the same qualities. And it is very funny. 4.) Kare Kano (His and Her's circumstances) 5.) Slayers-

Oh yeah, I have pictures of my dad's and my brother's dogs. None of the cat tho. Here's one of my favorites. Fudd and Guy I'll have to try and find more of my brother's dog. He's stupid, but really cute. He's also strong. Last winter he got himself tangled around the clothes line and unded up pulling it out of the ground, cement and all. And just so you know. Fudd is the Beagle and Guy is the big white dog with his head in an unfortunate position

While taking pictures of my animals and sticking them on deviant art I realized that I never once asked this question. Who has animals... Dogs cats... a doormouse? As for myself I have two dogs and a cat. Technically the cat is the only animal that I actually own since I got her in the divorce (I'm willing to return her) The dogs are my dad's and my brother's. But I walk them and let them out for bathroom breaks. So anyone else?

The Inevitable O-Lounge Blondes Vs Brunettes!
ChibiHorsewoman replied to Andrew's topic in General Discussion
Well, I'm a brunette and my daughter is a brunette . There for brunettes are just better. Besides, you don't have any dumb brunette jokes like they have dumb blonde jokes. Plus, the gene that gives a person blonde hair is recessive so one B on the chromosome and *poof* brunette. So we're dominant. As the Sunsilk commercial says: Sorry blondes, I guess you'll just have to wear shorter skirts. And as for guys. I've never dated a blonde... made out with one once, but never actually dated him. I stick to brunettes and we all get along just fine. -
Oh my guilty pleasures? Okay fine I'll list them for you all. 1.) I still buy dolls. Usually the Winx ones when I can find them. I also buy the Bratz and Barbie clothes so I can change the clothes around and take pictures to post on my deviantart page. 2.) I still draw. Mostly fan art. It's not too bad, in fact there are some things that I'm proud of. But it's the fact that I do it that just seems odd. 3.) I write fanfiction. My current interests for that are Winx Club (RAI version mixed with the crappy dub) Naruto and Avatar the last airbender. 4.) I have a 2-D crush on Sokka from Avatar the last Airbender. No I don't go overboard and create a Mary Sue character for any fanfic I've drawn of him or declare that I'm gonna marry Sokka. But my friends and I joke around with ownership of the chraracters and I do have him. I also have a 2D crush on Riven from Winx Club, but it's about the same deal. 5.) Finally something slightly more adult. I have an obsession with underwear. I have about fifty pairs, many of which I don't wear, and I am always on the look out for more. You and I both know I have more, but I have to get ready for work.

I'd have to say that my favorite anime hero is Vash the Stampede from Trigun. I loved that guy. I still do. He was a big goofball until he had to get serious to fight. One of the best things about Vash though is the fact that he'd go out of his way not to shoot anyone. I think that's a good message to some of the younger people who watched that. It was like he went out of his way to stay out of fights and getting violent. But he was still a goof.

. Wow, that's a lot of ... oh wait I can't type that... :catgirl: Dear Andrew Lloyd Webber We have sent our top representatives to work out an offer you can't refuse. Write Cats the sequel. Or we'll hack up hairballs on your Tony. Yeah, crap. But what do you want at midnight?
-
Well, here are my answers 1.) Mizuno Ami of Sailor Moon: That 300 IQ has GOT to be good for something. 2.) Chiyo Chan from Azumanga Daoih (Can't spell tonight) Yes, she's quite young. But she's a young girl in High School 3.) Ferio from Rayearth: He can smooth talk people like it's no one's business. 4.) Sesshomaru from InuYasha: Yes he's ruthless, and vicious... perfect for Washington (I'm an American) Plus I would predict not only a high turn out for women, but a lot of gay men might vote for Fluffy. Probably the highest voter turn out in history 5.) Kakashi sensai from Naruto: He's even trickier than Ferio.

Anime Favorite 'old school' anime
ChibiHorsewoman replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in Otaku Central
O_o since when are the 90's considered oldies? Though i guess as a modernist I should adopt the mentality.
True, the 90's aren't considered ancient history. But that's when I started watching anime. I think that may be when a lot of people started watching anime. But to be fair if you want to discuss real old anime how about Speed Racer? That show was just.. I don't know. I just wanted to drive a race car for a while. Does anyone besides me remember when Mtv used to air it after Beevis and Butthead? Another good 'older' anime is Slayers. I loved Lina Inverse and all the not so subtle comments about her lack of a chest. Damn could that girl eat! -
I was home from work today and decided to unearth my Gundam Wing Endless Waltz VHS (yes... VHS :animeswea ) and got into it again. I watched the whole thing- I didn't even think about fast forwarding through Relena's incesant talking. So that got me thinking what older anime do you enjoy or have you enjoyed? Maybe it's one that got you started on anime or something that you still watch. For me another anime that stuck with me, besides Gundam Wing is Sailor Moon. I started watching the crappy DiC dub back in High school and my biology lab partner and I used to write fanfictions instead of notes. Yet for some reason we always managed to pass our labs and quizzes. I still have some of the comics and my mini Sailor Jupiter doll. Come to think of it, I think I still have a few DVDs. Maybe I;ll watch it tomorrow. So who else wants to share?

What does love feel like? (long rant lol)
ChibiHorsewoman replied to tachiKC's topic in General Discussion
Well I'm no expert, but I think love can feel like a lot of things. It can feel like someone just punched you in the stomach. Or it can make you float. Sometimes it can even be butterflies. That's what my friends say to look for. The butterflies. And hey Baby girl, how have you been? -
Anime Anime Picture Caption game Part deux
ChibiHorsewoman replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in Otaku Central
Sorry for the wait. I don't get updates for some reason. Anyways out of all the Yoda shout outs, I liked Jeremiah's the best, so he wins. If he can't come up with something in three days tho, it's Anomaly's turn... because that was just too much. -
Inspired by the rebirth of the Picture Caption game in the lounge, I'm bringing back the Anime picture caption game. Same rules apply. three days go by I pick a winner. If the winner doesn't post in 3 days then it goes to the runner up. And without further ado, here's the first picture: For those who don't know, the little frog thing is Jaken and the anime is InuYasha. HAve fun.

I'm just gonna go all old school and say: DiC Sailor Moon opening. It was a mishmash of the 1st and 2nd season openings and it was really dumb of them to mention all the senshi in the beginning of the show when they haven't all been introduced. Also both the closing for Gundam Wing... Ye Gods! Like the song wan't bad enough, but they had to have Relena tormenting animals as well?
