What could you not live without?
ChibiHorsewoman replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in General Discussion
Well I would love to say that I could not live without horses, but unfortunately I haven't ridden since November. I love my daughter more than anything, but at times I have to learn how not to live with her because Abby has to go see her daddy every so often. I can't live without books. I love reading whether I'm reading a book to my daughter or reading one myself I have to have books. I'm as obsessed with books as I am with CDs/ Music. Give me music and books and I'm happy. I also like to write, but I have writer's block at times so I can't finish what I started.. or is that ADD? But another thing I can't live without is humor. And talking... but ya'll already knew that. -
Ooh I learned some more stuff from anime. 1.) Always be kind to animals. You never know when that random cat you save could be the key to your entire existance. Plus free gifts! 2.) Villains will always wait for you to transform into your battle uniform before continuing to fight. 3.) Be wary of small children falling from the sky. They usually have guns and could be yours. 4.) Falling down a well usually leads to an alternative past world 5.) The above is also the same when you fall into a book. But with the book you are surrounded by Bishi and risk losing your best friend. 6.) Grandfathers are full of excuses for why their grandchildren are absent from school. 7.) In the future young homicidal and at times suicidal men will be the key to saving the world in their nifty mecha thingies. 8.) Short old Shinto priests are usually lechers. 9.) So are young Buddhist monks. 10.) Watch out for guys wearing baboon pelts. 11.) It is entirely possible to fly on a feather. 12.) When you turn sixteen there is always a chance that your family will try to kill you because you are a reincarnation of some sort.
Who buys CD's?
The poor people (IE myself) who can't afford iPods because they have to spend money on dumb things like rent and diapers. I like my CDs I can play them in my car- or my parents' vehicles... and depending on which ones I bring I can play them in my friends' vehicles as well.
North Koreans are forced into joining the military for a certain amount of years after they graduate from high school. In the military i'd imagine it wouldn't take much for a normal North Korean male to be totally brainwashed into thinking that Kim Jong Il is next to God. Have you seen videos of them marching through the streets? It's pretty scary stuff, but to them it's life, it's reality. I personally believe that the North Koreans are very very different from the South Koreans. My mother is South Korean and that's the impression she has of them....but who knows? Maybe you're right and me and my South Korean mother are wrong....::shrug::
Man I didn't know that part. Although I should have guessed considering what a paranoid person Kim Jong Il seems to be. I heard that back in the early part of 2000 he actually ordered a set of triplets to be taken away from their parents fearing that they meant the end of his regime... I forgot what happened to them, but he's really not a happy person. I've seen some investigations aired on CNN about North Korea- which is very different from South Korea. Although near the DMZ at some bases you get the usual protesters shouting go home US and how they want communism- but the DMZ is right near the boarder so what do you expect? North Korea is virtually bankrupt and has to rely on the aid of other countries. Yet when this aid- usually from UN food banks- arrives it's auctioned off instead of evenly distrubuted to everyone in the country. It's not unusual for people to be lying dead in the streets from starvation and yet Jong Il is insistant on having everyone in the entire counrty believe that he is next to God and that things outside the country are much worse. He has all these little ceromonies and stuff so he can be assured of the country's good will. And if he doesn't have it then heads will roll- literally. No one in North Korea is allowed to know about life outside the country and they can't travel freely. That is a lot different from South Korea.
Who came up with Kim Dong Il? Is that a joke or do you guys really think it's Kim Dong Il? Later.
Not I said the duck. I've been typing Kim Jong Il for who knows how long, my links all said Kim Jong Il and all the news people are saying Kim Jong Il. **Looks at her keyboard** Heh you can't even blame it on key placement.

Yeah fun thread huh? I know that you can go without food for about seven days and water for three so don't give me those kind of obvious answers. I want the interesting funny ones that say that without this my life would be unbearable and give me a reason why. Ok yeah to be fair it can be more than one thing, but I want to know why. For me it would be music. Life is simply not bearable when there is no music, even if it's my tone deaf self singing in the shower or the car or doing laundry I have to have music I live for music even though I can't carry rhythm at all. So what about the rest of you?

This news insert is seven minutes old at the time of the post:
TOKYO - A defiant North Korea test-fired a long-range missile Wednesday that may be capable of reaching America, but it failed seconds after launch, U.S. officials said. The North also tested four of shorter range in an exercise the White House termed "a provocation" but not an immediate threat. The audacious military tests by isolated communist nation came despite stern warnings from the United States and Japan ? and carried out as the U.S. celebrated the Fourth of July and launched the space shuttle. None of the missiles made it as far as Japan. The Japanese government said all landed in the Sea of Japan between Japan and the Korean Peninsula. "We do consider it provocative behavior," National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley said. President Bush has been in consultation with Hadley, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld. The State Department said Rice will start conferring tonight with her counterparts from China, Japan, South Korea and Russia. Hadley said the long-range missile was the Taepodong-2, which failed 35 seconds after launch. Experts believe the Taepodong-2 ? Korea's most advanced missile with a range of up to 9,320 miles ? could reach the United States with a light payload. The State Department said initial intelligence indicates that the four smaller missiles included a Scud and a Rodong. The Scuds are short-range and could target South Korea. The Rodong has a range of about 620 miles and could target Japan. The launch came after weeks of speculation that the North was preparing to test the Taepodong-2 from a site on its northeast coast. The preparations had generated stern warnings from the United States and Japan, which had threatened possible economic sanctions in response. "North Korea has gone ahead with the launch despite international protest," Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Shinzo Abe said. "That is regrettable from the standpoint of Japan's security, the stability of international society, and non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction." He said the first missile was launched at about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, or about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday EDT. The two others were launched at bout 4 a.m. and 5 a.m., he said. Meanwhile, the North American Aerospace Defense Command ? which monitors the skies for threats to North American security ? went on heightened alert, said NORAD spokesman Michael Kucharek. "There's a lot going on," he said. "The safety of our people and resources is our top priority." If the timing is correct, the North Korean missiles were launched within minutes of Tuesday's liftoff of Discovery, which blasted into orbit from Cape Canaveral in the first U.S. space shuttle launch in a year. North Korea's missile program is based on Scud technology provided by the former Soviet Union or Egypt, according to American and South Korean officials. North Korea started its Rodong-1 missile project in the late 1980s and test-fired the missile for the first time in 1993. North Korea had observed a moratorium on long-range missile launches since 1999. It shocked the world in 1998 by firing a Taepodong missile over Japan and into the Pacific Ocean. On Monday, the North's main news agency quoted an unidentified newspaper analyst as saying Pyongyang was prepared to answer a U.S. military attack with "a relentless annihilating strike and a nuclear war." The Bush administration responded by saying while it had no intention of attacking, it was determined to protect the United States if North Korea launched a long-range missile. On Monday, Undersecretary of State Nicholas Burns warned North Korea against firing the missile and urged the communist country to return to six-nation talks on its nuclear program. The six-party talks, suspended by North Korea, involved negotiations by the United States, China, South Korea, Japan and Russia with Pyongyang over the country's nuclear program. The United States and its allies South Korea and Japan have taken quick steps over the past week to strengthen their missile defenses. Washington and Tokyo are working on a joint missile-defense shield, and South Korea is considering the purchase of American SM-2 defensive missiles for its destroyers. The U.S. and North Korea have been in a standoff over Pyongyang's nuclear weapons program since 2002. The North claims to have produced nuclear weapons, but that claim has not been publicly verified by outside analysts. While public information on North Korea's military capabilities is murky, experts doubt that the regime has managed to develop a nuclear warhead small enough to mount on its long-range missiles. Nonetheless, Lt. Gen. Michael Maples, director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, told U.S. lawmakers last week that officials took the potential launch reports seriously and were looking at the full range of capabilities possessed by North Korea.
Ok well I'm sitting down in the family room this afternoon (I live in Western NYS) folding laundry and watching Judge Judy when the national news breaks in and announces that North Korea has launched three test missles one of them was supposed to be long range and landed in the Sea of Japan about six hundred miles from the Japanese coast. This makes me nervous because I have friends who are in the military and I know how war loving our (US) president is due to the fact that we have too little military stretched too thin in two different wars. So now I'm wondering what Bush is going to try and do next along with the other countries about this whole missle thing. I know that both the US and Japan have threatened economic sanctions against North Korea if Kim Jong Il persists and I also know that with his country in economic back slide (Is that the correct term?) and many of his citizens going hungry- although he feverently denies this most of the time- he really can't go without US and Japanese funding and food. So I guess all we can do is hope that talks will help and the fact that he relies on other counrties since his is so poor. So what is everyone else's opinion on this? And if you want more stuff: Click this link!

Dating is a job audition, beauty contest, and public-speaking engagement all in one. Except if it's a blind date. Then it has the assault of a surprise party thrown in too. Of course, somebody's already tipped us off about the surprise part ahead of time. We still don't know what to expect- only that we'll be visually ambushed and compelled to feign enjoyment. And the person we're being fixed up with feels exactly the same way
Yes, I know that was very random but it's true. So if you keep all that in mind maybe it will help you with a first date. That said what I would love to do on a first date is go to an art museum or a zoo or something. Anything that requires even the vaguest use of gray matter is nice. Amusement parks are nice too for that matter and if you're not having fun with the person and you took separate vehicles you can always vomit on their shoes. I don't really like the whole cliched dinner and a movie deal. It's too staid and too boring and run of the mill. Even if you go to some really hole in the wall resturaunt there's always the chance that if the guy pays for dinner he thinks that he's going to get to go all the way. Sorry- that doesn't happen very easily. So anything requiring that you have conversations and figure out that you have some things in common is a great first date for me. Any volunteers?

What is this lack of respect towards women, huh?
ChibiHorsewoman replied to a topic in General Discussion
So, funny story, not really. So, wednesday night, I'm with my friends two boys including me and my friends girlfriend and our friend who is also a lady. We're standing around a bowling alley parking lot, waiting to meet up with other friends. When this guy walks by and my friend says "hello", but the guy finds it offending and glares him down. When the guy is down giving my friend the "eye" for lack of a better term, he goes in and bowls...when he's done...as he was heading towards his car, my friend says "have a good one" and then that guys goes crazy. He stops and just looks at me, and says "what are you looking at you (racial asian slur, involving the slant of my eyes) piece of $h!t" and turns to the girls and starts calling them "whores"...So, the girls go crazy and start calling him stuff, then he goes to my friend who was greeting him before and says "keep your bitches in line", the moment I heard that, I was pretty offended...but that's not all, he starts talking about how he keeps his "women" in line by "putting her in her place". I was about to deck the crap out of him...but I didn't want to fight infront of the girls. Instead I got in his face and told him to leave or he needs to start showing common courtesy, at least towards the girls. He looked at me and spit this nasty loogy right by my shoe...and he just took off. But this isn't the first time this has happened with the disrespect of women. I mean they do absolutely nothng to start it, and yet they get all this bad attention... What do you think?
Oh man what dio I think? Well besides that this guy has some major women issues and should think of seeing a psychologist instead of a bowling alley. I think you should have taken down his lisence plate number and figured out how to arrange getting some money for some new shoes. I honestly don't think it's soley the Rap, R&B and Hip hop music's fault. I think it's more of the fact that manners towards people in general have declined. Hell go shopping with a kid, a travel stroller, diaper bag purse and shopping bags and try to find someone willing to hold an elevator for you. But you really can't blame the genre of music people listen to because I know people who listen to Rap and would get the crap beat out of them by their girlfriends if they talked to them or another woman that way. I really despise guys like that because they give the rest of the male population a bad name and me a sudden urge to beat the crap out of guys like that- or take the time to call and wait for the cops to file a report on harassment. I know that not all guys are like that. Really I do! I just know that guys like that should be injured and made to take some sensitivity training classes. I actually know of one who is in dire need of sensitivity classes because everytime he gets pissed at what I have to say he goes into a tirade about my sex life and that I hate all men because of my divorce. Basically when that happens I accuse him of hating all non virgins and block him. But I really despise being called a slut, a whore and all else simply because of my personality. You know what else gets me? The women who put up with guys like that and actually date them! Case in point my former roommate and his girlfriend. This guy was beyond in dire need of a *i*** slap from the day he was born! He complained to his girlfriend and me about how the apartment looked, how the toilet paper was placed on the friggin' roll the dishwasher not being loaded the way he wanted it and even his girlfriend's mentally disabled son. Now me I would not have put up with that crap and on more than one occasion when my roommate forgot his place I either drove off before I went off on him, called his CQ desk (he was in the Army in a different company than my ex) and once even contacted JAG because he had put his hands on me. But his girlfriend for whatever reason over looked his attitude and did everything but wipe his butt. She finally got over him after they moved out. I found out about that when I ran into her at the Wal*mart she works at. But my God I would never put up with that so why do other women? Can someone explain that to me? -
Ok please don't kill me for this thread, but one of my guilty pleasures is watching Winx Club on Saturday mornings even though 4kids butchered it beyond belief and the main character is a Mary Sue in training. The show originated in Italy and is the brainchild of Iginio Straffi who has other shows now along with Winx Club. Winx Club has been translated into many languages including Turkish, Hebrew, French, German and at least two different English Dubs. The original title for the show was going to be Magical Bloom and it shows throughout the first two seasons which have been aired nearly world wide with the exception of a concert with Musa and brief flashbacks Layla/Aisha has when Stella, Musa, Bloom and she visit Gardenia. The base summary of the show is that this girl Bloom finds out that she is
not a regular earth girl but a fairy. Not only a fairy actually, but the last survivor and the princess of Sparx/Domino)
The first season pretty much focuses on Bloom finding her powers and getting accquainted with her new friends: Stella princess of Solaria and Fairy of the Sun and Moon. She is described as being a girl of fun and fashion. (This must be someone else's opinion since I sincerly question the minds of the people who decided on the clothes for these characters observe exhibit one: ) Interesting fact- Stella is Italian for Star and in the second season she has a pixie named Amore which is Italian for love. Flora from Linphea/Fifth Moon of Marigold and fairy of plants and nature. Flora is a very quiet and studious girl. Musa from Melody/The Harmonic Nebula and fairy of music.
In the first season of Winx Club 4Kids falsely informs the US and Canadian viewers that Musa is a princess in the second season they fix their oops by saying that her father was disowned by his family.
Musa is a bit of a soft hearted Tom Boy. Tecna from Zenith/ Technodust fairyland the fairy of technology. Tecna is good with anything technical, but lacks basic skills such as knowing how to use a mop and bucket. Tecna is short for tecnologia- Italian for technology so that is the correct spelling of her name. In the second season they meet a new fairy Aisha/Layla from Andros/Tides. I'll add more later because I'm getting tired. But I'm curious, does anyone watch the show and have opinions? Maybe most and least favorite characters? Anything?
I learned that in a japanese household, it's customary to remove your shoes before entering. I've actually started doing that at home even though no one here at home is japanese, so they don't get why I take off my shoes. The beauties of habit...hehe.
*Shrugs* Whatever. I hardly watch anime anymore and I'm Irish and I still take off my shoes whenever I go into someone's house.... With the exception of my ex mother-in-law's because of the cat infestation. I think it's more of a courtesy not to track dirt and what not into someone's house.
I've also learned how to use chopsticks properly by endlessly rewinding episodes of Naruto to figure out how to hold them. My friends tell me I have WAY too much time on my hands to spend hours just trying to figure chopsticks out.
Hah! I learned how to use chopsticks before the invention of Cartoon Network. Yes it's true. Although I never had an urge to eat Japanese, Korean or Viet cuisine until watching anime and reading manga/manwa. Chopsticks are way easy... until you get to the part where you have to try and eat rice. That is so not happening for me.
I can also say three whole sentence in japanese! Lots of people say that that's not really a big achievement, but to me it is. This links in with how I also learned that there's no L sound in japanese, and instead the pronounciation is more of an odd mix between an R and a D. It's hard to describe.
As r2vq asked, what are those three sentances? I can ask for directions in Spanish and am slowly trying to teach myself Italian and French. My friend Titi imouto chan (Ya'll know her as Ayi) also taught me a very useful phrase in Viet. I just can't type even the phrase in Viet because it's rather inappropriate. I can add odd exclaimations to sentances in Japanese and use a few other phrases- not all of them nice- in Japanese, but other than saying Ten'ou hiye otoko no ko and Wasure fuyami ni koi wo shin aide I don't think I can say anything worth saying.

I'm racist against racists. Can that be all I can say? Yeah like that's all I'll say get real. I was watching a thing on A&E last night about the Ku Klux Klan and how since the reconstruction era of the United States they've always been able to recruit new members and at times were part of law enforcement and high ranking government officials. The KKK is the largest hate organization in the US and although I am an optomist most of the time I just can't picture them dying out since they've managed to survive for nearly two centuries. Them and the Neo Nazis are just never going to go away because some people just can't help being stupid. Yes I know I sound terribly pessimistic but face it, if there are enough people who hate others strongly enough to become groups of people it's never going to stop
A few misconceptionss about my own gender that need to be cleared up: 1. We are not complicated. Man want hungry. Man want hump. 2. We are not mind readers. 3. If you can't find a nice guy, then you aren't really looking for one. Nice guys are, like morbo's offspring, belligerent and numerous. 4. I don't think I can stress this enough, WE REALLY DON'T HAVE A CLUE WHAT YOU'RE THINKING. TELL US. 5. All men are violent (as mentioned in #3), but only the idiots fight to prove supremacy.
Thanks for the heads up. I'll make a note of it. And to return the favor I'll make some clarifications of my sex: 1.) We are not all concerned about our make up and hair 24/7/ Yes we want to look nice, but not all of us are attached to mirrors 2.) although when we become mom's and sometimes even when we start relationships some of us do become psychic it doesn't happen over night. 3.) Sometimes all we want is to get laid and have you get the hell out. 4.) Not all of us want to talk about your feelings 5.) Some of us are even more violent than you.
As for the opposite sex, I would never want to be a woman. Girls are awesome and all, but they're only real predetermined advantage is multitasking, while they have to put up with a lot of crap like insecurity, menstration, etc. And yet women make me feel all warm inside, and I have a burning desire to find a girl to spend my life with. So Being a guy is great, girls make me feel great, and The Man Show Kicks ***.
I don't get why you wouldn't want to be a woman for at least one day. I'd want to be a guy for at least one day. Of course as usual I have a really dumb reason. I want to be able to pee my name into either dirt or snow and walk around topless without people yelling at me. (FYI: New York state allows women to go topless in the same places men are- but I have yet to see one of my sex take the law up on this offer- sorry guys) Menstration isn't too bad, we get away with a lot of things because of it. I once got out of a speeding ticket because of PMS. I started crying long story. Guys confuse the hell out of me. You're happy you're sad. You moon over odd things including anime girls and cars. But I stll like guys... go figure. And even though I've been hurt I wouldn't mind having another relationship.
I'm with Chibi here, Ann Coulter needs to either develope some insight, or some self control. Personally, I have nothing against gay marriage, and I don't get the whole argument on the conservative. All I keep hearing is how it's "Violating the sanctity of marriage!" Yes, 'sanctity', of marriage in a society where half of all marriages end in divorce. Am I the only one who sees the humor in this?
I think she needs to broaden her horizons a bit and stop catergorizing everyone, but hey that's just a single mom on welfare's opinion. I think that barring religious veiws the people who have a problem with gay marriages must have some kind of relationship issues themselves. Or maybe not, because El knows I have a lot of relationship issues and I reallly don't care who marries who. And no you aren't the only one finding humor in the whole "Violating the sanctity of marriage!" My ex cheated on me and is making himself out to be the all American family with his new wife and my daughter. And since he's straight it works for him. I find the whole sanctity thing extremely amusing.
I'm in the military and, as I'm sure you all know, they don't allow gays in service. Mind you, they don't actually ask you your sexual preference when you enlist, it's more like don't ask, don't tell. Anyway, one of the ways you can be dischargerd from the military is to get married to another person of the same gender.
Well first of all thank you very much for serving your country. I know the hell they tend to put our soldiers through and good luck. Second I think the whole don't ask don't tell policy has got to be one of the most idiotic things the American military has ever thought up in the over two centuries that it has been in existance. Who cares what PFC so and so is doing in his or her free time? As long as the person is pulling his weight get over it! Third- you can get an honorable discharge if somehow it''s found out that you're gay. Which means that if you suddenly decide that you don't want to be a memeber of the world's finest all you have to do is hit on a member of the same sex... I think.
The military is like a giant red neck after party. For most it's an excuse to kill people and get paid doing it.
That is really funny. I don't know what else to say about that. But after meeting a lot of Army guys from the south I have to agree with you.
While we're on the subject of complaining, has anyone watched the subbed version of Naruto before CN dubbed it? Please no Naruto dub-lovers take this to heart, but I honestly just want to shoot the people who did the voices, but that's only because I've watched up to ep. 189 in Japanese so I was rather shocked when I heard the American voice actors. And personally, I find they really do them no justice, especially when they changed Naruto's tag line of "Dattebayo" (which has no real meaning) to "Believe it!" as well as Shikamaru's "Soo Troublesome" to "what a drag". *gets off her soap box* Well I'm done...
Well Titi as you may hear me say later on YIM Pioneer did the same to Chichiri's phrase 'No Da!' In Fushigi Yugi to Ya know. No da as I've understood is just an exclaimation with no translation. And I really hated watching Fushigi Yugi in English because of that. I think Viz changed dattebayo to Believe it so they wouldn't confuse the younger viewers. Naruto doesn't say either phrase in the English Manga. Ok now that that's over I have to go watch Vandread on Plex! -

Better? :']
YEs much. Sorry I'm just in a mood lately... long story.
I'm shocked that you say FOX shows things "a bit more faithfully," when their biggest talking head is none other than Bill O'Reilly. I was watching him bash liberals and how they were "unpatriotic" since we didn't want the war in Iraq. I mean, FOX was over the top about the war. They were plagued with GOP slant (anchors gung-ho about the war, covering more 'positive' stories about how Iraq was progressing, etc) throughout Bush's presidency.
Oh do not get me started on all these 'anti-liberal' Bush supporters in this country. It's enough to choke a Donkey... or an Elephant I can't remember which animal goes with which party, but who cares? My recent addition to my *hit list is Ann Coulter. I tried really hard to read her newest book 'The Church of Liberalism and nearly gagged on the extremism. She claims that it's bad to teach sex ed in schools, give teachers higher pay and that all liberals support Darwinism and don't believe in God. That woman should use the royalties from this book and buy herself a clue. I consider myself a moderate bi-partisan voter. I consider myself an American and I consider myself well informed.... Of course I also don't watch Fox News Just CNN and some MSNBC along with Nightly news. I don't like all these divisions and I think I may vote for McCain in 2008 provided he makes it through the primaries and Hilary Clinton doesn't.

I'm home on a Saturday afternoon waiting patiently until I can go to the Casino tonight and wishing I could get the Dixie Chicks' new CD. I'm also remembering the whole piece about them on CNN back in May and all the controversy surrounding them Pre Iraq War 2003 when Natalie Maines (The group's lead singer) said that she is ashamed to be from Texas because that's where President Bush is from. Yes that was very interesting- I still remember the furniture store off base with a large sign proclaiming that they supported the troops and the President and an Auto Shop telling the Chicks to get out of Texas. So now I'm really curious to find out if anyone has any opinions on the Dixie Chicks in any way. Music or political. I for one like them, I have four out of their five CDs and have been a fan since they came out with Wide Open Spaces. So other thoughts and comments.
Sorry, CHW, but I'm really tired of the "zomfg gheys r teh wr0ngz!1," so I'm not really going to reiterate any of my views..
Okay question, what did that gibberish mean and why am I the one with the spotlight? If you're going to point out something in my posts at least note that I pay attention to politics.

Man you start coming in here sporadicly and you miss all the good stuff. Let's see what havoc I can bestow. :catgirl:
I don't dig gay marriage or homosexuality.
Well thank you very much for your insight. I'll remember to footnote that for further use.
I also think most people hate Bush just because they love bandwagoning. Music, mvoies, pretty much the entire media is saying "Oh that Bush is a moron hick" and the masses say "Yeah? YEAH! That Bush is so stupid!" I don't really care about politics, but I think anti-bush is just a big bandwagon.
I didn't vote for Bush in 2000 and I didn't vote for him in 2004. I don't like Bush. I have never liked Bush. I will probably never like Bush unless when his term is over in two years he decides to become a rodeo clown. I don't think that this whole anti-Bush thing is a bunch of band wagoning. I think that a lot of people have woken up and found out what a terrible leader he really is. And this whole attempt to out a ban on Gay Marriage was really just an attempt to distract the American public from the war in Iraq
Also isn't marriage between a man and a woman? So wouldn't giving gay people something like it but not exactly the same thing be equal? I mean really there not an equal couple. They lack the ability to make children there are laws in marriage about children. So the laws don't apply to them? Well then that's not equal is it?
Avenged marriage is nothing more than an ideal that two people are expected to recognize for better or worse gender has nothing to do with it. Just ask any divorced person. I think it's rather shallow minded to say that a same sex couple isn't an equal partnership and a heterosexual couple is. I mean who gave you that kind of power to decide that only certain couples can become equal? That to me is like saying that a woman who has an older child or is married is a better mother than I am. And while I'm on the subject of children. There are many heterosexual couples who either can't or choose not to have children for one reason or another. Does that suddenly invalidate their relationship? Is my parent's marriage invalid or not equal to your parent's because they had to adopt? Seriously that's just wrong. Ok my own views on Bush and Gay marriage. Bush has completely destroyed this country in the six years he's been president. We have gone from a surplus that was brought about by the Clinton administration to a deficite in only three years. The only reason he's in power right now is because the democrats didn't have a good candidate to make it past the primaries in 2004 and John Kerry had to make that dumb comment about Cheney's daughter. And I hope to the powers that be that Jeb doesn't get the 'bright' idea to run for this office in 2008 or I will learn both the English and French words to O' Canada. I have no problems with Gay marriage morally or spiritually. God said to Love one another and He didn't put limits on it. And I know of a lot more morally inept straight people than I do morally inept gays. I hope that was enough to revive this thread because I would love to see some replies.
