Which songs have the funniest or most interesting lyrics?
ChibiHorsewoman replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in Noosphere
I found my Trick Pony CD! Their new one: RIDE. They have some great songs on there Ain't Wastin' Good Whiskey on you, I Didn't, The Bride and this one right here: Hillbilly Rich Here's a story 'bout the under-dog. One dollar, five digits an a piebald. A hundred million bucks ridin' on that ticket. Here's what happens when a redneck hits it. Kick it!. He jumped up an' he tore off his Texaco shirt. He didn't give a notice, just walked off work. Ran straight to the bank to collect his money: Says: "I'll take it in cash an' nothin' bigger than a twenty." Now the kinfolks say: "Man, it don't make sense. "He's still livin' with his Mamma but he won't pay rent. "He got a high definition television in his trailer. "He's rigs in the trunk for stealin' cable from his neighbour." Oh yeah. Well, he's hillbilly rich. Hillbilly rich. Just a poor boy livin' out in the sticks. Well, look at him now, he's hillbilly rich. Now the farmer scracthed his head an' said: "You must be kiddin'." When his tractor's standin' still but the revs a-keep a-spinnin'. He got the front end bouncin' from the air-suspension, A few tees in the bags in case he once a-wants fishin'. That's hillbilly rich. Hillbilly rich. Just a poor boy livin' out in the sticks. Well, look at him now, man, he's hillbilly rich. Well, he's hillbilly rich. Hillbilly rich. Just a poor boy livin' out in the sticks. Well, look at him now, man he's hillbilly rich. Hillbilly rich. Hillbilly rich. That boy's hillbilly rich. Hillbilly. Did I mention, dune dogs, shotguns, an' tree stands. I wanna shoot something. Boon doggy. If the song isn't funny to you, you have no since of humor. Merry Part Chibi Horsewoman -
I know everyone was probably expecting this type of thread from me sooner or later- well, who am I to dissapoint right? As the title states a week from Monday is the one year anniversary of the South Asia (AKA Boxing Day) Tsunami. A horrendous natural tradgedy which touched everyone's life in one way or another. So I would like to hear people's thoughts on this occurance. And not just shock that an American started this thread please. Maybe what you were doing when you heard this happened or something. I just remember that I was getting my daughter dressed to head out to return Christmas gifts and take advantage of the after holiday sales. I had CNN on and heard them recapping the report again. Thinking of this reminds me of Katrina photos, it's terrible to think that so many people lsot so much. But this Tsunami was even worse in some ways. Entire families were lost! Blessed be, Chibi HOrsewoman
The first thought that comes to mind is "Idiot." The second, "reckless." The third? Pure puzzlement. I'm confused why anyone would want to do this to their child, even if their political beliefs completely oppose it. It's a risk, plain and simple. And now a child died. I believe my first thought is most acurate.
Actually the first word that came to my mind was two words and only one of them can be typed without getting censured I think in someways as a mother I understand why she wanted to breastfeed and under normal circumstances I would have no problem with it. BUt the woman was being selfish and in some ways abusive to this child since she knew she was HIV positive. I don't really give a damn what her beliefs about the disease are or were or will be in the near future science shows that HIV is transfered through bodily fluids. She was lucky enough to have had a child born HIV negative to begin with and instead of putting the baby on formula she sites the studies on how breast milk from a health mother has nutrients (never mind that this is only for the first 3 days and breastfeeding only needs to be continued for the first 8 weeks if necessary or if you can't breastfeed- which I couldn't but is an entirely different story) and goes and does this stupid selfish act which cost her child her life! I'd type more, but my hands are getting tired and so am I.

Well, I haven't been on all that much and I haven't begun a thread in a while either, so here's one just for you guys and ladies who miss me so much Dec. 8, 2005 ? From the moment Eliza Jane Scovill came into the world on Dec. 3, 2001, she was strong and feisty ? much like her mom, Christine Maggiore. Maggiore describes Eliza Jane as "fierce, sweet, intelligent? wildly creative, imaginative." She loved music, singing, dancing. She loved her older brother, Charlie," Maggiore said. "I just wanted to live as long as I could to know her, to ? listen to her speak, to bask in her beauty." In 1992, Maggiore tested positive for HIV. While researching her diagnosis, she became a member of a small, but radical movement proclaiming that everything we thought we knew about AIDS was wrong ? even the most basic premise, that HIV causes AIDS. She addressed huge crowds at rock concerts, and sparked protests in Africa. Mainstream scientists dismissed her message as dangerous. But a defiant Maggiore was intent on practicing what she preached, refusing to take anti-viral medication like AZT when pregnant. She and her husband, filmmaker Robin Scovill, had a son, Charlie, in 1998. When she began breastfeeding her son in public, there was outrage that an HIV-positive mother might be literally feeding her child a deadly virus. Evidence shows that breastfeeding increases the risk of transmitting the virus to children by up to 15 percent. Authorities investigated, but in the end, determined that her son was well cared for and healthy. When Eliza Jane was born in 2001, Maggiore ? still healthy without anti-AIDS drugs ? again refused anti-viral treatment when pregnant and later insisted on breastfeeding. "Breastfeeding provides important antibody immunity," Maggiores said. "I wanted to give my children every advantage, and by doing so with Charlie, I raised a beautiful, healthy son. By breast feeding Eliza Jane, I had a beautiful, healthy daughter." Refusal to Test Her Kids Maggiore also refused to test her children to see if they were infected with the virus. "Why would I risk the stigma, the medical label, the toxic drugs? It didn't make any sense to me at all to subject her to that. It's my job as a parent to protect my children, and do everything I can to ensure they lead a long, healthy, happy, productive life," Maggiore said. But when Eliza Jane was 3 years old, she suddenly became ill. "In late April, she suddenly developed sniffles and a cough," Maggiore said. "I took her to the pediatrician after a few days, because I wanted to make sure she was OK." http://abcnews.go.com/Primetime/Health/story?id=1386737&page=2 You can read the rest of the story by clicking on that link. The whole thing is four pages long but basically it says that a woman who is HIV positive and knew she was HIV positve breastfed her daughter. And her daughter died. I'm just wonderiung what are people's thoughts on this subject. I know we have some people who work in the medical profession and some other who just like to rerad and give commentary on subjects that they may want to learn more about. So I invite everyone to tell me what you think

I like the nice respectful guys who have a tinge of craziness I wish there were more guys like that. But for some reason there is an over abundance of guys who think women want the hard *** bad boy and strive to be that. Sorry no. Now understand that I don't want someone who's too good to be true, because they usually are. But once you reach a certain age *pulls out a wheel chair* YOu realize that you need more when you want to settle down. And now that I read through this I think that my reply looks like a singles ad... I'm sorry. But hey long live the nice guys. They may finish last some times, but they usually are worth the wait!

I just want 2006 to be better than 2005. It won't be too hard. I doubt anything could be as bad as this year has been. My daughter was in the hospital, my ex husband cheated on me and told me he was divorcing me over the phone, and his new girl is harrassing me. Yep, the only thing that could make 2006 suck more would be getting shot. And I plan on avoiding getting shot. I just want to get my finances in order, get the rest of my belongings back- or be reimbersed for my belongings and maybe start a new relationship. But the relationship thing is at the bottom of my list.

Oh El how do I explain myself without being laughed at. Let's see, I never watched horror movies so I never got one of those scary boogeymen/woman. I never got freaked out by the guy on the Quaker Oatmeal box, or Lucky the Leprichan (It would have been funny though considering that I'm Irish) Heck I didn't even spaz over clowns or Santa Claus (my brother was afraid of both) Nope I was (and still am) haunted by this foot deep hole in my parent's basement where the sump pump (weird little thing that helps keep the basement from flooding) is. Yes folks, Chibi Horsewoman is afraid of a hole that's less than a foot deep at the tender age of twenty-four! Beat that!

Uo- o.O Yeah, and the disco look is the wave of the future Kyo That's what I'm hoping Okay that was my final answer and now i have to go change a stinky baby! -
Well, I was never much of a fan girl. I'm not just bsing, I was never much of a fan girl. Yes, I liked watching Tasuki and right now I think Riven on Winx Club (an Italian cartoon that's been chopped up and dubbed in English by 4Kids) is really hot. But then I realize hey, he's only 2-D. And I relax and get back on that damn singles site! Heh, yeah. I think fanboys are even worse. No seriously they are! I have a friend who I talk to who is friggin' obsessed with Flora from Winx Club (see above description). And by obsessed I mean he thinks that Flora is real. It wouldn't be as scary if he was like 14 or so, but the guy is 18! Yes EIGHTEEN!! So I guess it just depends on the scale of fangirl/boyism. Crushing on an animated character isn't bad. Going overboard is. Thank you for your support.

My best friend is Becky. I haven't spoken to her in a while though becuase her new boyfriend is taking up all of her time  So she won't call me or our other friends. Anyway: We met in high school and had Gym Class together, lunch together and rode the afternoon bus home together. We used to do a lot of things together, ice skating, shopping. Going to movies. Stuff like that. I need to find her cell phone number I guess. We also both have children, they're both girls and seven months apart (her's is older than mine) They're names even begin with the same initial 'A'licia and 'A'bby. The funniest part of our friendship is how our lives are nearly parallel. I start dating, she starts dating. She gets pregnant, I get pregnant. Her daughter's father leaves her because he'd rather be a drug addict than a father. My ex husband cheats on me. She gets a new guy... eh who knows.

Anime If you were stranded on a deserted island....

Oh excelent question. I'd want to have Shippo from InuYasha. Yes he can get really annoying at times, but he can transform into thing! So I'd see if he'd change into a boat or something. IF you want to get everything a bit more PG-13 or higher I'd say Tasuki from Fushigi Yugi. And if you want to talk items- how about the Pirate Ship from One Piece? I'd jsut kick everyone off and sail home! -
Gays hitting on Straights, whats your Opinion?
ChibiHorsewoman replied to Shwa's topic in General Discussion
In any case, guys hit on me more than girls, which is a little scary, but I'm pretty much ok with it. I'd rather a girl say that I'm attractive, but I still consider it a very nice complement, lol.
Okay.... you know what? I'm not going to comment on that one becuase it's funny I could really care less if a girl hits on me or not. Just as long as she understands that I'm not like that. I dance with girls, I hold hands with my friends who are girls. Once as a dare I kissed a girl in Wal*mart (I knew her people!). I just don't go out with girls. I've only been hit on by a girl once. It wasn't bad actually I was more mad at her for asking since I knew she was already seeing someone else than the fact that it was a girl. It's nice to know I'm attractive to more than just guys (heck sometimes it's just nice to know I'm attractive. I had a gay guy be jealous of me once because he wanted my ex husband. In hind sight I think I should have just said okay Tommee (Yes, that's how he spelled it!) you can have him. But yeah, that's my only other story. Trés boring huh? Who cares if someone of the same sex is hitting on you, just shrug say thanks for the compliment and move on. Oh and Mage15, good luck. -

I was listening to the radio and Big and Rich;' s new song came on Here are the lyrics. I'll hi-lite the funny ones: BIg and Rich- Coming to your city BIG & RICH LYRICS Comin' To Your City [Chorus:] Well we're comin to your city Gonna play our guitars and sing you a country song We'll all be flyin higher than a jet air liner And if you wanna little bang in your ying yang come along Well we flew through Cincinnati And we all got really happy Grabbed a bowl of that sky line chili along the way Then we rolled on into Kansas Scared the hell out of Marilyn Manson And the party started happenin Hey hey hey Then in the middle of a Charleston night We ran into Jessica White And a little moonshine got us right plum smacked insane [Chorus] Well we broke down in greenville In the middle of a hayfield But a Bud Light truck pulled up and helped us out So we then headed up to Philly Partied down like real hillbillies Brought the Music Mafia And rocked it out And Chipowas where we go When we're up in Buffalo Don't you know those yankees drink enough to DROWN [Chorus] Listen up Now LA's got the freaks That brings them 50 dollar drinks And San Antonio Was a wild wild rodeo And then Phoenix, Arizona We drank way too much Corona And we woke up by the river Just sittin cold [Chorus] Yeah, yeah We're comin to your city We're gonna play our guitars and sing you a country song We'll all be flyin higher than a jet air liner And if you wanna little band in your ying yang If you wanna little zing in your zang zang If you wanna little ting in your tang tang Come along, come along, come along, come along Yeah, we're comin to your city Actually the whole song is funny. I love those guys! The Bride by Trick Pony is good too and so is there song I didn't I like the Bride better so I'll post those: "The Bride" The day's finally here, There's flowers everywhere. The guests are waitin' with sweet anticipation. As I look down the aisle, The preacher stops an' smiles. Church bells are ringin' an' the organ is playin'. I'm so overcome that I could cry. I'm so happy I'm not the bride. She's such a pretty thing, She don't know anythin'... Ain't gonna tell her that she's outta her mind. The preacher asks the question... No, I got no objection. I do, I do; I want him out of my life. Throw the rice an' let those white doves fly... Oh, happy day... I'm not the bride. Eat some more cake, Throw the bouquet, Pass the champagne, it's time to celebrate. I'm gonna dance this night away, Whoa, whoa, yeah. [Instrumental break] The groom is gettin' loud, His new wife starts to shout. Oh, this is perfect, it can only get better. They're fightin' in the car, off to a real good start. His momma's cryin'. Aren't they lovely together? They're drivin' away, we're wavin' goodbye. Close call, relax, Amen, Hallelujah, By the grace of God go I... I'm not the bride. Well, I'm not the bride. I'm free, I'm free, I'm free. I'm not the bride. Thank God! Goodbye now. Good luck girl. You're gonna need it. Ha, ha, ha. Ta-ta. Considering my current situation. This song is my favorite! -
