1.
It's that time again, my dear children. ~_^.
: :animeblus Wait, I'm two years older than you!
[b']A) Which aspect of OtakuBoards do you find to be the most negative/confusing?.
I can't use the my Otaku function! Maybe it's juts because I'm semi illiterate when it comes to computers. I'm also a bit miffed ( nice word, huh?) that two of my threads which had gotten well thought out replies were deleted while a post that had spammy replies was still up. That confuses me since usually it's the spammy threads that are closed first.
What is your favorite aspect of OtakuBoards?[/b'].
The fact that I get to express my opinion and no one can come over to my house and beat me up. I'm sorry, but I can't think of a better reason right now. I just did, The people here are really nice - even Alex and Ryan once you get to know them- everyone is pretty openminded and supportive.
 2.
You and I haven't seen eye-to-eye occasionally in the past (though, strangely enough, we're agreeing more and more, lol), but if you ever need to talk, drop me a line. I think my AIM sn is on here somewhere.
Well, the reason we're seeing eye to eye now is because you've seen the light and joined the dark side. :D I really appreciate everyone's replies so far (and there have only been 3 so you know they're good) I'm not so bad off that I think I'm worse off than people in the path of a hurricane or the nearly paralyzed like Sand Dragon. I've been trying to write some really pointless fanfiction (ie Winx Club parody) to take my mind off of things. It works for a bit- I'm on my tenth chapter of KNow Your Stars with over 60 reviews. It does help to know that people who don't know me love me. THe best part so far is my friends trying to get me to go out and hooking me up. My friend from here has gotten me to goto a Puerto Rican dance club with her twice and I just got off Yahoo IM with a guy my friend from TX told about me. If anyone else feels so inclined (not to hook me up to talk online) my yahoo IM is on my profile- I'm ghetto so I don't have AOL :P. So thank you so far and I promise not to hurt the military personnel. I think I should take the advice of my custom title Dans chaque fin, il y a un debut- In the end, there is also a beginning. Maybe I'll even get it tatooed somewhere.
 3. Hi, it's the ever perky CHW to admit that I'm really not that perky. I'm really having a rough time. Yes, this is out of character, but hear me out. My world started crashing down back in March when my soon to be ex- husband decided that he wanted a divorce, he then decided to see how things would work out and I thought things were going great. We went up th Ft. Drum where he's stationed now and looked at houses, bought some antiques. He even bought a new vehicle. We were planning for our future together with our daughter. Then he went back to TX and decided that he wanted a divorce. He also started seeing this other woman (34 with a ten year old) who he'd known since we were engaged. He says he loves her more than he ever loved me. Which really hurts. It hurts even more to know that even before our divorce is finalized they're already engaged. I hope I can get him on that. On top of this I'm sick (hyper active Thyroid) and keep losing my jobs about a month into them. This whole situation makes me ill both physically and emotionally. I suffer from chronic depression (no seriously I do) and have recently gone back to thinking of suicide- even seeing my daughter doesn't help sometimes. I'm just tired of being strong, fighting everything and struggling through. I really just want to get everything over with in one way or another. I'm not saying this for sympathy, just advice and to get it off my chest. I'm either snapping at someone or crying. I can't get through my days as easily as I thought I could. I really rather just die and get it over with. I already feel dead inside. So advice, stories requests for my stuff? Please don't delete the post.
 4. Okay after three days of careful.... Oh who am I kidding? It was a hard pull, but here are the three winners.
"Okay! Who left the toilet seat up this time?!" Made me laugh like a crazy person
"This isn't some win-a-friend, save-the-Earth anime. This is real life!"[/SIZE']
Made me laugh like a sane person
I WILL SURVIVE! As long as I know how to love, I know I'm still alive! I've got all my love to give... all my life to live... i will survive -ArV
It was random, and I like random If Celestial Charm doesn't come up with a picture in two days Delta will go up and then well... you know the deal. Have fun!
 5.
Wow. I havent seen such a double post bananza since...must have been when chibi first started posting here in OB (haha, just a joke).
Tee Hee. For the record I never double posted that badly :p . *smacks Drix with a Homosexuality thread and walks away* Anyways I think that my temper has a lot to do with what ever else is going on in my life at the moment. For example right now I'm jobless and going through a divorce. My ex husband ruined my credit by getting a laptop that I don't know the fate of and hasn't paid a credit card bill with my name on it that he made purchases on. Add that on to the fact that I have a major hyperactive thyroid (the endocrine system is quite amazing really- on the up side, I've lost a lot of weight.) THen do the math. Right now I have a short fuse because of the above situations. I try really hard not to go off on people who have no effect on my circumstances (ie, my daughter (big no no) my parents, my friends and my animals) however if someone who has directly affected my circumstances is in my space (ie my ex husband) I will probably use that to my advantage- or dissadvantage since I'm out one cell phone. I won't lose my temper on something pointless however. SO if someone wants to flame my writing or insult me at work I just ignore them (easier online for me) or tell them to grow up in the nicest way possible (work- although avoidance works too.) I have nothing else to add now.
 6. Messenger bags are definately gender nueteral. Did I spell that right? Just as long as it's not pink or embelished with My Little Pony. Strawberry Shortcake or Care Bears you're good. Oh, Sailor Moon is also a no, but Fushigi Yugi is neuteral. As for things that should not be allowed to cross over: Pink! purses, dangly earrings, make up (unless you're a drag queen or trying to be 'goth' stay away from Sephora, Stila, Benefit and the Clinique counter) flare jeans, glitter (again with the drag queens) and shoes with heels. Yes I have a long list. But I have my reasons. Oh and leather pants, but then again no one should be allowed to wear leather pants unless they're clubbing or in a rock band. Case closed.
 7. I have to ask this because my cell phone is busted because I chucked it at my ex husband- hey you would have done the same thing if you knew the story. So I'm wondering if anyone else thinks they have a temper. I've never hurt anyone intentionally (well- except for when I get into fights- anothe long story) and my road rage only extends to yelling at the person inside my car (I have a friend who got out of her car and slapped a lady for nearly hitting her car) So, stories?
 8. This is the same idea as the picture caption game in the lounge, but with a twist, you have to use anime pictures if you win. I'll start What do you mean these shorts make my butt look fat?
 9.
And the fact is, America is[/i'] the navel of the world.
We're not the naval we're the armpit of the world James, get it right! And Sage, I'm sorry that I took your posts the wrong way- but some people very close to me lost members of their family in the attacks. So it's a bit personal to me. That's all
 10.
I think that Naruto is just a knock off version of Dragonball z, s.
And the equally cheesey Tokyo MewMew (well ok, Mew Mew power because I've only seen the dubbed 4Kids crapola) is just a cheap SailorMoon knock off. Only Zoey (can't think of her original name) isn't as klutzy or stupid as Serena (USagi) Infact Tokyo Mew MEw is such a knock off- the leader practically stole SailroChibi Moon's Twinkle Bell for calling Pegasis! I think the cheap knock off is what makes it cheesey, although I find Naruto a heck of a lot more watchable than DBZ
 11. Lucky me- I got Gas for $3.07 a gallon today. I paid $37.00 to fill up my 13 gallon tank! I thought I did good until I saw gas for $2.97. Then I decided I needed to have a good cry. This gas even though it's going down is getting crazy. I just lost my recent job and put almost one hundred miles on my car today looking for jobs. And I still have to pay my babysitter and buy diapers. My county is going to try and put a $2.50 a gallon cap on gas, i hope that goes through. I'm gonna sign off now.
 12.
I guess what I'm getting at is: why should the whole world stand still just because it happened to the US and not in, say, Malaysia or China. Remember when those two massive dams in China collapsed? Highest destruction and death toll of any man-made disaster, and no one even mentioned it the year after it happened. You can mourn all you like - I just don't see why we should all mourne when the US will not do the same for us. That's what I understand Sage to be saying, I may be wrong though.
To me Sage is comparing natural disators to a terrorist attack- hardly the same thing. The dams in China were a structual thing, not a terrorist attack. Columbine- children who didn't receive pschycho therapy not a terrorist attack. Bombings at the night club in Bali in 2002- Terrorist attack. Bombing at the Federal Building in OK? Home made terrorist attack. See the difference? Quit whining about the US. Maybe the whole country doesn't make a big deal about attacks on other countries (of course our president is a narssisistic nationalist ethnocentric dork, but I didn't vote for him.) That doesn't mean that everyone in the country forgot about those dates. My feeling on that day was more of a 'How sick and uncaring can people get' thing not a 'Hey we're the US you can't do that' thing. Don't generalize the whole country to fit your ideals.
 13.
Actually, it doesn't. Over two hundred Finnish people died in the December tsunami, so we sent lots of money and resources there to help the people rebuild. If no Finnish people had died, I reckon the amount of aid would be greatly diminished. Same goes to all foreign countries who lost their inhabitants then. If it isn't about us, we tend not to care. I truly wish it wasn't so, but unfortunately world isn't that good a place. I still believe that the amount of help that USA got from foreign countries after 9/11 exceeds that which many other, poorer countries get. For comparison, I heard somewhere that if the amount of money USA has wastedon the Afghanistan and Iraq wars would've been given to the poor countries in Africa, there would be no famine anymore. Of course this might just be a wild legend, I don't know how true it is. But it's a worthwhile thought...
Okay first of all- quit yer bellyachin'. You really get on my nerves here acting like since it's a US tradgedy we should just suck it up. No one told the people in the Phillipines that they should suck up their natural disater or the same with the Gulf States. This TERRORIST ATTACK was not a natural disaster. A bunch of nutters got in in their heads to hijack airplanes and run them into the WOrld Trade Center and the Pentagon. And if it wasn't for that group of heros on flight 92 (?) there would have been another tradgedy. People lost thier lives in a senseless act of violence. This was the largest TERRORIST ATTACK on US soil! Of course we're still going to mourn As for aide to other countries not counting. What a load of crap. Just because we're one of the richest countries in the world doesn't mean that what we donate doesn't count. And I really don't think it mattered nationality wise. I mean look at the bombings in BAli back in 2002 which were also the work of Al Quieda. Nobody's saying Hey Bali suck it up! I'm really tired of all the anti-American sentiment and since we're America we can't mourn. Sure everyone may hate us because of Bush and his cronies, but that's not all America. For El sake, grow a soul!
 14. You know what else is twisted? Yesturday was also grandparent's day. I bet nobody remembered that. I just remember that I was home sick from work and had to go to the doctor for blood work. My mom came by to pick me up and said turn on the news because something had happened. I though 'earthquake in California because that's usually the news here (she has a friend in Oakland) so maybe there was an earthquake in Oakland. I turned on the small tv that was in the livingroom and saw the first tower on fire. My mom drove me from our house in the suburbs to my doctor in the city and the whole time instead of music the news was on. The anchormen were almost crying. Then during my blood work they announced that the second tower was hit. I remebred that one of my cousins lived there at the time with her husband (she was a preschool teacher two blocks from ground zero) Everything was okay though in my family. But some friends of our family lost their nephew on the 102nd floor. His last name was Pelino. Goddess keep him. Exactly a year after 9/11/01 I flew down to Texas. I mentioned this yesturday prior to my riding lesson and one of the girls asked if I was crazy. I said no, it was pretty cool- the plane was packed. Then my riding instructor said that it showed everyone had faith in the government. Crap all I was doing was moving to Texas and showing that I wouldn't be bullied by a bunch of cowards who kill innocent people. I wasn't making a political statement. I hae great respect for those in the armed forces- especially those who joined after 9/11/01 (alothough if a certain Army guy gets deployed again I'm gettuing a sign made with his face that says: Don't supoport this troop) Actually I'm considering joining myself. It's a family tradition! To all those who think that four years is more that enough or that there are more things to think about. Try saying that to someone who lost a loved on in these tradgedies and see how far that gets you. Really, have some respect.
 15.
Gas prices are decreasing here in Texas.
Yes, there in Texas. :animesigh New York has sales tax and gas tax for gasoline. Right now Monroe county is trying to get approval to suspend the 4% sales tax which will mean a ten cent decrease at the pump. Yes I know that ten cents doesn't seem like a lot, but last week I paid $3.09.9 to fill up from 1/4 tank. 11.37 gallons of gas ran me $32.56. This past Friday I paid $37.98 to fill the same ammount at $3.19.9 . Today I went by the same gas station and it's $3.29! I don't make a lot of money. I have more expenses than gas including a baby sitter for my daughter ($100) car payment ($217) car insurance ($153) and diapers ($6.99) I have to get a second job to suppliment my income! I only make $7.50 an hour and I have to take off the next few weeksfor doctor appointments and going to court to testify against my friend's ex boyfriend. So my paycheck will be quite pitiful. Really it seems like I'm working soley to feed my car.
 16. Word association time when I see SailorMoon the first thought that pops in my head is: Pass the crackers! Don't get my wrong, I love Sailor Moon. I search for Sailor Moon memorabilia (just found myself a Sailor Venus key chain at a new anime store in my area :animesmil ) and snatch it up when I find it in my price range, but after a while the whole show got really sappy and cheesey. For one thing the plot just kept regurgitating itsself- villains come to Tokyo in search of energy (or taking over the world) and SailorMoon stops them. She gets a new item each season and new powers. The poor inner senshi only got new outfits the fourth season (going by the anime) and only got three new attacks. The outer senshi were weeded out (anime again) and poor Setsuna is stuck babysitting ChibiUsa off and on. However the worst offender in that whole show is Tuxedo Mask.
Honestly Beryl should have been lglad that Zoicite atleast tried to kill that loser instead of having a BF and Killing poor Zoi Boy instead.
He was nasty to Usagi, easily lead on by voices in his head and kept getting brain washed. He was the cracker for the cheese!
 17. If the above people restarted this post for the above reasons, shame on you. :animeangr Moving on the City of New Orleans is fianlly being evacuated- by force if necessary. Now one of the biggest problems facing some residents now is keeping their pets. Yes the real reason some people didn't evacuate is because they couldn't take their pets who are like members of the family. They were told that they couldn't take them where they were going and that they would have to leave their pets behind. I know I couldn't do that. Now that many of them can take their animals more people are leaving. The most recent pictures now are showing stranded dogs, some stuck in trees or limping through the sewage (well, technically it's water but sewage is more acurate for the time being.) Even before I saw them I donated some money at my local animal shelter. I strongly recommend doing that because after a while people can help themselves, animals can't. Monroe county (the name of the county I live in ) is one of six counties in NY that is taking in refuges from the hurricane. My mom said that if we had more room she'd consider taking in some people. But our four bedroom house is already about to explode with people, so no can do. The thing I'm getting sick of right now is the blame game over who dropped the ball first in this fiasco. What everyone has to focus on now is getting everything straightened up. Who messed up can wait for another day. A few local radio stations are getting together tomorrow to try and raise money for the red cross. One of the guys is going to offer to squeegi people's windsheilds for money. I want to go down there just because he has a really nice southern drawl.... And I want to help out! Yeah! So now I'm wondering if anyone or any organisation in your area is doing any fund raising to help out. And please no more of that above crap.
 18.
I always go for the guys who wouldnt seem to have a girlfriend like seshomaru and kaiba. but i know they would be good boyfriends :animesmil [/SIZE']
Do I really have to get into this again? Sesshomaru would not make a good boyfriend no matter how cute he is or how wonderful he is to Rin. Those are flukes, he's really a sadistic freak! Gods people get with the program!
 19.
If there's a city-wide manditory evacuation[/B'] being held, you know the Hurricane means business. To all those who decided to stick it out, to hunker down and see what would happen, you're retards. That's why the death toll is going to be so high. Yes, there are those who lacked the means of leaving the city. That doesn't mean you just sit at your house and let the sh_t hit the fan. Hitch-hike, use public transportation, whatever you can do to leave the area, do it.
There were people who just couldn't leave period. Nurses, Doctors, police officers the list goes on. and as you may have read a few posts up even some people who did evacuate didn't make it. And what if you couldn't get ahold of public transportation or people were too busy saving their own skins? The people who were stuck in the cu\ity tried to get shelter the best they could. It's not their fault that the roof started to leak in the Superdome or that idiots decided to help themselves rather than think of others. That doesn't mean that the governmemt should just sit back and watch them starve.
 20. I would want to date Hibiki from Vandread simply because he makes the silliest faces. Okay, he's cute too, but his faces are the best. Of course I'd have to take him out shopping because his clothes are pretty bad, but he's cute so he can get away with it some times. I can't think of his name, but I wouldn't want to date the main guy from Princess9. He's secretive, indescisive and a bit afraid of Himeko. While i find a big tough guy being afraid of a girl amusing, I'm just not going to have that happen while I'm with someone.
 21.
Maybe it's just me, but I seem to remember a few days prior to landfall a mandatory evacuation order[/B'] in which the government opened all southbound lanes in LA and AL to northbound traffic. In no way am I saying that people in New Orleans or Biloxi deserved any of this, but you wouldn't have to say get the **** out to me more than once.
Well, Ryan, that did happen. But not everyone in LA, AL, and MI (where Biloxi is) had transportation or the money to stay somewhere else. Also some people feel that it's their duty as residents to stick out hurricanes- many had done so three years ago (sorry, I forgot the name of that one, but I drove through it in OH) and it wans't nearly as bad. Maybe they figured this one wouldn't be as bad as it was. I've heard reports of children being raped by som people now too. My God is there nothing these people won't have to go through?
 22.
Would you consider not allowing other countries to help blockading? And maybe Bush himself wasn't directly blocading it, but somone was. FEMA. Here's an Interview with a Survivor
Holy **** that's just.... Well, I didn't watch the video because I've already seen too much stuff happening to all the survivors. I mean **** (sorry there's just no other word to really use even crap doesn't cover it! ) These people survived a catergory 4 hurricane just to die of starvation and insulin shock! THere was no problem getting aide to FLorida last year when they had 4 hurricanes there! Why are these states different? LIke I've said before and I'm saying again. Parents are watching their children DIE and children are watching their elderly parents suffere and die for all things sacred. Why is aide to these people only coming today nearly a week after this? That's just a bunch of bad kharma waiting to happen for Bush.
 23. I just fouind out that my babysitter 9well ok my daughter's babysitter, but you get teh idea) has family down there (brother sister-in-law and 4 nieces) and she hasn't heard from them yet. I want to find somewhere that is taking food donations because I can't get the image of parents watching their children starve to death out of my head and I have boxes of baby cereal and tons of food downstairs that I can donate. Tyler, I really don't know what to say to you. I've never experianced losing someone that way.
 24. Gas prices in my area have risen over a dollar in some places since last week. Plus there is such a fluctuation in my area between one gas station and another it just isn't funny. A few examples: The gas station next to my workplace is ten cents less than the gas station accross the street! Two gas stations selling the same brand of gas-but owned by different people- in less than a .5 mile radius have aboyt a six cent difference (the abocve gas stations are differnt in every way) I drive a small car (2003 Olds Alero) I usually fill up my tank when it gets to around 3/4 a tank, but sometimes less. Thursday I was at 1/4 a tank and filled up at a station for $2.99 a gallon (mentally kicking myself for not fueling up before work since it was twenty cents more than when I went into work.) I spent $32.54. THen I filled up today because I saw gas for $3.09.9 near where I was going. I spent $19.24 to fill up from 3/4 to full. So I have spent $51.80 in gas since Thursday. I make $7.50 an hour right now and nearly a quarter of my paycheck goes to gas! This is ****ing ridiculous! Last year I got bored and drove around surrounding towns and enjoyed my sollitude (with my daughter of course) because gas was so cheap- I don't think I'll be douing that any time soon! My friends and I even canceled our shopping trip today because the place we were going was a bit out of the way and one of my friends would be driving her mom's van.
 25.
Texas has basements, just not along the coast. .
One of my aunts lived in Grapevine- a suburb of Dallas and her friends lived in Irving- no basments and as we all know Dallas is in North Texas. I lived in central Texas, my friend's houses didn't have basements, my apartment complex didn't have basements. None of the houses I saw from Dallas/FT. Worth to Brian/ College Station had basements. Heck, the Dallas Ft. Worth air port doesn't have a basement. They have lower levels for passengers to stay during inclimate (ie tornadoes) weather. Buit it's not a basement. The topsoil is either too hard, too close to the watershed (where the water is in the ground) or there is too much expanding and contracting in the topsoil for homeowners to have basements. That said the situation for people in the Gulf States is getting worse. For example there are diabetics who have gone for three days without their insulin- at least two in one shelter have died from insulin shock. The infants and children in other shelters are sick and people are going hungry and thirsty. Yet G.W. can't be bothered todo anything but send trucks down. He keeps saying that the government is doing the best they can. Well, obviously their best isn't good enough. Peple are dying from lack of supplies because this genius decided that trucks are teh only way. Why can't he do air drop supplies? IF this was a foreign country help would have been there last week, but when it happens on our own doorstep, it'll take a while. I'm watching Dateline right now. There are babies going without formula- or at the very least milk because president Bush is more concerned with Iraq than with his own citizens. All he can keep saying is that he's doing the best he can. Mothers are watching their children starve because of our governemnt. I'm sitting here at my computer crying because there are mothers holding their children who are barely alert and I keep picturing my own daughter going through that without any help. Trust me, it's no fun watching your child be sick in the first place, but being completely helpless is something I just don't want to immagine. I'm not ashamed to admit I'm crying about this. Maybe he should do something like donate his own money along with the ordinary citizen. I'm sorry, maybe this wasn't the best place for a rant, but as a mother of a young child watching other parents unable to help keep their children it's heartbreaking. I wish I knew how to set up a collection to send down diapers, bottles formula and water. And some baby wipes
