1.
And I've got you beat by $.40 + $7.50. ~_^ Downsides...I work at home, so I need to discipline myself to "stay in the chair." Some of the doctors in Radiology don't realize that holding the microphone up to their chest is bad. Some of them condense entire paragraphs into syllables. But all in all, the job is kick-***.
Which is why I plan on saving some of the money from this job (b-shift rocks if you want to save money) I don't want to be a vital uneducated part of the workforce (And just where did you think the pretty books came from?) for the rest of my existance. I can understand the plight of the work-at-home person. Yes it's purely second hand, but my mom works at home as a computer program trainer (i Think that's what the job is called) in my old room turned office. The hottest place in the house. Sometimes I come in there and see her playing Spider Solitare. Today she came downstairs to go for a swim. Eh, new fun job story? Not now I worked over time
 2.
I?m earning $7.10 an hour as a clerk/stocker/cashier/whatever else my manager needs me to do at a local garden store.
Hey I have you beat by $.40. Okay so my job isn't permanent. But I do is stand and make stuff to go in other stuff. And if I work saturdays I make $10.50 an hour. Honestly aside from the standing the hardest part of this job is trying to avoid one of my male co-workers.
My first, and previous, job was as a bagger for a grocery store. Depending on the day, I could make a significant amount of money (all tips) or very little.
I did bagging before they let me cashier at Tops -oh there's a good story- but I was paid $6.25 an hour for that. When I was a Helping Hand at Wegmans one of my main jobs was to help customers with their groceries. But I still made minimum wage for the time I was working. The customers still gave me tips though. I could never work a job where I relied soley on tips (my best friend works as a waitress at the Cracker Barrel). I'm nice,. but not that nice. She might be able to bring in hundres of bucks a night in tips, but not me.
 3. Ooh ooh pick me pick me! *waves hand* I loved Jem and the Holograms. Best show ever! Okay maybe not ever because the problems were solved in a few minutes, but it was a good show. I think my favorite were the Misfits. I liked the episode where they got stuck in the kennel at Pizzazz's house. Ha I used to and still do watch Golden Girls. I can actually understand the jokes now. I wish they had more shows about old people. But funny ones like that. Nothing depressing just funny stuff. And Roseanne, how can you not love Roseanne? That show was the closest to real life families I ever saw on TV. Fat dad and mom. Struggling, messy house, issues. I think someone needs to remake that show too. No more for now
 4. This is just an extremely basic thread that asks what do you do for a job. Maybe what was your first job? And do you have any good stories about your work. Right now I do temp work at a bindery in my area. Basically it's boring work where I have to stand for hours either folding laminated papers, helping to sort pages that will be placed in books or punching out envelopes. I even make boxes, as in I place a lable on a box and then turn the cardboard into a box. I've only had it for two days, but it's not too bad. If you're not working on something too complicated or near a machine you can talk. There's one guy there who kept eying me on my first day I had to walk by him when I went to the lunch room or the bathroom and he started talking to me and asking my name. Well I figured what the hell because I might have to work with him (I'm hoping not) so I told him. Then yesturday while I was trying to find where I would be working he started bothering me again. This time he wanted my number because he wanted to be 'friends' (Yes, I'm just so sure that's what he wanted) Well, since my divorce isn't finalized yet I just told him I was married. I hope that worked or I may have to start wearing my engagement ring on my left hand instead of my right. As for first jobs. My first job was volunteering to baby sit at my parents church. But that never paid any money. So I don't think it counts. My first paying job was a Helping Hand at Wegmans, a grocery store where I work. It was hard, I was the first girl and the annoying popular guys worked there. I even was annoyed by a few other kids in school that didn't like me. But as you all know I have an attitude problem and I got yelled at by my supervisor. But I managed to work there for a whole year! Well, there's one of my many stories. Feel free to share yours.
 5.
Meanwhile on MTV, a song about having sex with someone's mom or killing yourself can be adjacent to a song about wanting to have a baby or loving someone genuinely. It's also played at any time of the day or night, .
Mtv plays music! I never knew that! As for censorship well, America is one of the few countries that has it to such an extent. We're so worried about our children becomming gay that we can't show them in cartoons (except for InuYasha and some adult ones) but South Park can kill off Kenny every week, and there's pleanty of guns and violence to go around in both cartoons and regular tv. But oh no, you can't have children seeing nudity (think Tenchi Muyo back in the late 90's and early 2000-2001) or same sex couples. :angry2: I'm not sure how to put this out but, I think the big problem isn't the hike in censorship in the US it's the lack of parents who want to spend time with their kids and plop them down infront of a tv. They're the ones getting angry about everything because they need someone to blame besides themselves.
 6. Now here's a pointless thread I can be proud of. What's your favorite candy? And why? And do you have a certain way of eating it? Yes I am weird, what do you want me to do about it? Okay as for me I have a few favorite candies- mostly chocolate ones, but I go for 'healthy candy (hello oxymoron) now and then. I love Hot Tamales and Jelly Bellies. The best ones are: Cinnamon, tangerine, grapefruit, strawberry daqurrie, peach and chocolate. I hate buying them though because they run about $5.99 a pound :animeangr As far as chocolate goes. Snickers, Almond Joy and KitKat. Snickers are only good frozen though. Nad KitKats are best eatten chocolate first. I couldn't eat almond joy around a former co-worker because she's extremely allergic to coconut. I don't know why I like them. Maybe because it's a false sense of security. Or they taste good with ice cream. Nothing else to say, but I hope that maybe this generates discussion. Maybe I know that I once had a food fight invloving jellybeans, and I used to steal teh above from my brother's candy bags at halloween.
 7.
Does anybody else find it amusing that practically everyone here classified themselves as being unique and 'Unlabelable', whilst everyone else at their school was practically carbon-copied from stereotypical moulds? Does it lead anybody else to the conclusion that perhaps everyone is unique, and that the only reason stereotypes are applied to people is because of their outward appearance and manner, but not necessarily the person beneath the trappings?
So mote it be I think some of the people in my school who had no one staring at them from 0615-1515 (if they stayed after) Monday through Friday baring holidays strayed from the norm including my friends. And this really popular guy who was in my Chemistry class and my best friend's english class who once started crying about having to keep up apperances in their english class. He meant in school in general but it happened in english class. I've run into a few classmates since graduation and not all of them have stayed stereotypical.

 9. I want my senior year book back! That had some of the best signatures. Ah well, Junior year book is just as good. My friend Amanda Even when things were at their worst for me I could always go into our storuies and write. From all of us to all of you have a great summer- Amanda Murphy We wrote SailorMoon fanfics in Biology class together... She also drew a picture of one of her senshi (that's from Senior year) Some girl- Just stay away from Kevin. I think she was worried about me taking her friend's boyfriend. Jen McKee I wonder if she's still Baptist- Glad you came to my youth group-keep God #1. I wonder what she'll say in four years when I run into her at our 10 year reunion and... Never mind. Becky (my best friend I'm reserving this page for my very long letter-Senior year is going to be fun. We're going to go to Seabreeze this summer and pick up a few guys. Here's my number incase you forgot or accidentally lost it. Julie Marks- You're a nice person. Have a nice summer and a nice life Creepy. I don't know where my other books are I do remember that in my Sophomore yearbook my ex said: Don't beat up John that's my job- Chris 3:16 John is my brother and I think the boy watched too much WWF I think another Jen told me that I wasn't at the top of her hit list. So comforting.

 13.
August 24, 1989
You have the same birthday as my mom. Except that she was born in 1953. So the two of you are thirty-six years apart. I think it's scientificly impossible for my mom to be 8 years younger than me. You're one month and eight years younger than me.
 14.
It was the year of the Dragon. The Earth Dragon, if I remember correctly.
Yes, you're correct,All dragons share the element Wood. 15.
I could never stand Elmo, I never got what he was always so happy about. I loved Grover and how he would scream and run all over the place. That and the Cookie Monster was my favorite. I heard they got rid of Bert and Ernie? Don't know if thats true or not, or the fact that they can't be "roomates" anymore. It's kind of fun to see how your old shows as a kid has changed. But I never watched it that much. I was too hooked on the muppets and Mr. Rogers for some reason. Beats me.
I think Elmo's so happy all the time because PBS give him an ungodly ammount of Paxil and other anti0-depressants before each show. That's why he can even go talk to Oscar the Grouch without chewing him out. I miss Grover and Cookie monster. They don't appear as much as they used to. And yes, Bert and Ernie have been evicted from Seaseme Street. Their unibrows used to scare me. However, Ernie still appears in the show when Big Bird does 'Journey to Ernie And I have seen Bert once or twice. But he doesn't do the Pidgeon dance as much as he once did. :bawl: It's odd that something that didn't bother or register on people's minds 30 years ago strikes a nerve now. I never even considered Bert and Ernie to be anything but friends when I was the targeted age of the show.

 17. If I ever became famous for anything other than my multitude of annoying posts. I'd want it to be for writing. I have the seed of a novel on my hard drive and if I ever had the nerve and some more inspiration I'd want to write that and publish it. Of course that may never happen because I don't know if I'll get around to it any time soon while the market for scandelous stories is at its peak. But if I do... I'll send all of you a copy.
 18. :animecry: Okay I know that I mentioned that next I'd send Sango and Miroku into therapy, but damn if I didn't remember what I was going to do to them. I think I'd establish the same rules about no violence-ie no whacking Miroku with the Hirakotso (sp?). And no grabbing at other people's butts. I don't really know where I'd go from there. Perhaps I'd ask MIroku why he's so perverted. I suspect that he'd claim it was hereditary. I'd say he needs to get some intensive therapy. I think I's just leave Sango alone since she's pretty much lost all her family. I'd just get Miroku some lessons in manners and how to treat a woman. Really that who session would just be boring. But wait until you read the next paragraph. After realizing that Sango and Miroku are very boring to have in therapy I'd tell them that they were cured, but Sango should stop hitting Miroku because he needs those last five braincells that are left to function properly. I'd go out and find the Naraku. Not his puppet, not something he pulled out of his bod but the Naraku and subject him to some intense psycho therapy starting with his past life at Onigumo and why he insisted on stealing from people and being lazy like that instead of getting a real job. It would turn out that he felt unloved as a child and decided to steal from people to get attention. Even if it was for being passive agressive. The stealing evolved into even more sierious forms of wrong doing and finally he just couldn't stop himself. Onigumo decided to commit suicide by setting fire to himself ect ect ect. As Naraku he found that his base tendancies still existed but now that no one could catch him he felt free to act on his impulses. But he still knew what he was doing was wrong. I would find out that Naraku is actually deep down a nice sensitive guy who enjoys flower arrangment, horticulture and origami. Paxil would be perscribed and in teh end he'd decide to let Kagura go instead of killing her. After I was done with InuYasha because I didn't feel like messing with the rest of the cast I'd go to Azumanga Daoih with my handy dandy psycology office and reek my havok there. Tune in next time to witness my genius.
 19. Man LP, for a military guy you sure keep a tidy barracks room. I'm impressed. But that blanket needs to be straighter soldier. And I'm serious about the snow. I bought some at a Christmas store last December. It's never been used. Take care and enjoy the inflight movie tomorrow.
 20. Okay I know lame thread *shoots thread* But I couldn't help myself. I have a 9 month old and I watch the show. I love how they haven't changed Oscar the Gouch in years. He's my favorite character. Always so grouchy yet he's allowed on a kids show. I always wanted MtV to use him and Barney in Mtv celebraty death match. But that's another thread all together. I wish they hadn't changed the thunder and lightnig to balloons and confeti with The Count though. I loved how there would be thunder and lightning when he got the number of the day. I wonder if parents just started to complain and that's why they stopped doing the lightning. But I thought it was cool. I even tried to make it happen and was dissapointed when I couldn't. I'm glad that they got rid of Guy Smiley and his game show. But I still liked him doing 'this is your life. Yes I'm old. I even remember when they had Hooper's Store with Mr. Hooper. So I'm wondering who watched or is still watching Seaseme Street. And what were or are your favorite characters. And don't lie and say you don't watch it because I'm sure that there are people here who still watch it. Maybe you should say who your least favorite characters were too and what you remember about it. Just don't kill me because of the thread. I never saw it before and I wanted to do a new one.
 21. OH, what about that male teacher from Azumanga Daoih? Mr. Karezuma or something? My god! First of all he's a bit of a pervert. Example: The school's cultural fest where the swim club was selling drinks. He asked for some cold pool water that the swim club girls had been swimming in! :animesigh And he's really spacey and scary. I couldn't live with him let alone try to date him!
 22. Oh man what about the Llama song. Want to hear it, clcik here: http://www.relaxorium.com/journalpics/thellamasong.swf My daughter likes it. But she's also nearly 9 months old and likes the chocolate song and chewing on her toys. So what does that tell you?
 23.
Oi, They said Australia not New Zealand. It's like saying that the USA is a nice suburb of Canada
Yes, because we all know that Canada is just a really nice suburb of the United States. Face it it's the other way around. And if any of you think I'm being serious you just don't know me that well.
I live in Vermont, in the US. I live close to the Canadian border so there's some variety on the language in Northern Vermont. Work isn't too great up here and that's pretty much the reason why I'm going to be moving from Vermont.
Is it true that it snows year round in Vermont, but it just doesn't stick? And that in some places you have to make the roads out of something besides asphalt? Because I know a guy who's stationed at Ft. Hood who's from Vermont and he said that. He also went and married a girl he'd only known (ie dated) for a few weeks. But I think that has more to do with sheer stupidity than from being either 1.) from Vermont or 2.) in the military.
 24. Hey LP. I'll send you some fake snow. And don't forget to bring reading material for the long flight. CHW
 25. Tri Gun is staying on Sunday Morning Adult Swim. It's on after FLCL at 1:30AM/12:30AM. And like I said before, InuYasha is being ressurectd from the begining starting at 12:30AM Wednesday morning or 11:30 PM Tuesday night depending on where you live. I think I'll skip those first episodes since I have them on DVD.
