1.
but I am a die hard Dolphins fan (no comments please) and if anybody is a Patriots or Dolphins fan they know that its a long standing rivalry.
I guess you forgot about the long standing rivalry between the Buffalo Bills and the Miami Dolphins huh? There isn't a game up here that isn't sold out when the Dolphins come to play. They even make shirts up here that say SQUISH THE FISH! My dad has one of a Buffalo wearing a Bills jersey squishing a dolphin in a Dolphin's uniform. The dolphin's eye are like this :X X and the rest of it is like this : :p . Never underestimate the other rivalry. 2.
That's cool, Chibi Horsewoman and I live in the same area. ^__^ And hey, Chibi! Have you gone to Darien Lake and rode all of the roller coasters until you got sick? ^__^ ~ Jung-Woo ~ ^__^
Dude! Sweet, another Western NEw Yorker!. Oh, like Jung Woo said, don't swim in Lake Erie. Lake Otario's cool...but only at Hamlin Beach State park. I wouldn't trust Charlotte Beach, it gets closed most of the summer because of bacteria. Also, I wouldn't trust the Erie canal, but for some reason my brother and his friends do. They use one of the old railroad bridges by our house to jump from and get El knows what. My Media Plays (there's one in Greece and one in Henrietta) don't have any anime clubs, but they have crap loads of Anime and Manga. If you can't find it in one store, just drive a few towns over and the other one should have it. Oh, I can't believe I forgot about this, but there is one store I haven't seen anywhere Empire Comics. They have crap loads of both Japanese and American comics. As well as toys, models, videos, DVDs, card games, and a bunch of Japanese imports. The best one is on Mt.Hope BLVD right across from the Mt. Hope Cemetary which was founded in the 1830's and is also quite beautiful. Especially in the older sections. An interesting thing to note is that many of the headstones in the older section are written in German. Cooperstown, NY home of the Baseball Hall of Fame-A fairly decent drive, from my place of existance but a very cool place to visit. Cooperstown is a very charming town, You can also visit other attractions...which I forgot the names of since i haven't been there since 96. Black North Farm Eh, I may as well mention it since there isn't another one like it. That's the name of the stable I ride at. I've been there for 12 years, baring the year I was in Texas. I haven't ridden the roller coasters until I've gotten sick, but I have rode them until I got really dizzy and grabbed a hold of some guy that I thought was my dad (back when I was like 7 or something. And then I got a bad head ache when I went with my best friend. Letchworth State Park, Stoney Brook State Park, The land in the Southern Tier where my dad goes hunting...Great places for hiking. Also the trails along the Erie Canal Which were originally for the mules that pulled the boats in the canal when it was first built. Those are great bike trails from the spring to late fall. I could go on, but I might bore people. Oh, Kane, do you happen to live anywhere near where The MOrrigan is buried? Or know where the mound is?
 3. I live in Western New York State. A few interesting manufactuires are here in my city. George Eastman House-For those of you who don't know he's the founder of Kodak. Yep, without this guy there would be no American film. Xerox-Yes, copy machine people are here too. Zweigles Hot Dogs.-Lincoln would be hurt if I forgot these. Rochester, New York is the only place you can buy these hot dogs in stores. There's a website too, but I forgot the name. But...if you find it they're worth the price. These hot dogs are really made from regular meat..and they have white hots :p as well as Red Hots. Nick Tahoes and Bill Gray's These two resturaunts are only found in Rochester. Nick's has a thing called the garbage plate...bring your appetite and your antacids when you go there. My brother-in-law makes it a point to go there when he comes up from Philly. And I love Bill Gray's Cheeseburger's and onion rings. Abbots Frozen Custard They've been around since 1904, Great Ice Cream. And my mom found our first cat at the one down by Charlotte Beach. The Lilac Festival People come from all over to see 100's of varieties of lilacs and see why Rochester went from the Flour City to the Flower City. Seabreeze Yes it's a rather small amusement park, but it has some history. Their wooden rollercoaster, the Jack Rabbit, has been around since the early 1900's. They also used to have this really old carousel with carved wood horses and everything, but it burned down in 1994. A new one was built in 1998 I think. Niagra Falls You can either take 490 West to I-90 West and get there from Buffalo or just take 104 up there. It's about a 2 hour trip and well worth it. Six Flags Darien Lake. 490 West to I-90 West More later I have to let my mom work.
 4.
Didn't Daria get with Janes ex, oh i can't remember his name, i still watch it now, it's on at 4:30 on MTV2
His name was Tom. Ok, MTV2 at 4:30. Is that AM or PM? and what time zone? This post wasn't much help. Daria ended up
breaking up with Tom in the last movie...is it college yet.
I think it was because of the whole admitance thing. Go figure. I hope in a few more years MTV will do a 10 year reunion and maybe we can see what happened with everyone. Like in that Write where it hurts episode
 5.
Dream Theater- Rush-Need I say more?
I know I have a cd of Dream Theater somewhere in the merged cd book of the Crisler family's music library but I'll be damned if I can find it tonight... which is kind of a bad thing because now I want to listen to them and see if they really are any good even though it's not my type of music. As for Rush. My husband has every cd of theirs ever made...he even made an MP3 of their songs. I can't listen to them for too long since every song starts to merge together after a while. But hey to each their own, right?
 6.
We have a dynasty, gentlemen! These Patriots are incredible...
Ahem? *points to the name on the beginning of this thread.* I know you probably didn't mean anything by it...but well, a woman started this thread. Keh. My mom took her office TV down stairs to watch desperate housewives so I have no idea what's going on now. I'm also trying to get my daughter to sleep. Eh, anyways I plan on not caring too much...it's not like the Bills are playing.
 7.
I'm not disagreeing with you here CHW...but there are some flaws in your logic. Your point isn't really valid at all. Landing for the sake of "beating the Russians" could be evidentially supported by both a real or fake lunar landing. Don't you think it would have been far more practical and cost-effective to produce an incredible propaganda movie of Astronauts landing on the moon that would even fool the Russians? While I believe we did set foot on the moon first I don't believe our motivations support the argument against a "fake" landing at all. On a lighter note, has anyone seen the video of a 70+ year old John Glenn taking down a reporter in a single punch for claiming the entire space program was a hoax? Great stuff... if you can find a link to a vid...*chuckles*
Real or fake the height of the Cold War was during the 50's and 60's. What better way to feel that we 'beat the Reds' than the space race. And I'm gonna go find that link now. Oh, And Drix, Nascar stole your pirate idea.
 8. Well, there's not a thread up yet on the subject yet and I figured since today is the big day I figured I'd make one. This is simply a thread to discuss super bowl moments and memories. Maybe a party you attended or a moment of the game you remember very well. Just not the Wardrobe malfunction, that is sooo old. Also you should cast your vote on who you think will win...:D. Heck, if you want you can even say how much and what the score will be. As for me. One of my favorite Super Bowl party moments is the one my senior year when I went to a party at a friend's house...I think the Broncos won that year. After the game was over we watched a Vegitales video and started singing along to the Water buffalo song. That was pretty fun.... I think the Eagles will win but it will be close...33-29 or something around there. But the Eagles are my perference since my brother-in-law lives in Philly. Ok, everyone else jump on my band wagon.
 9. Ahem, allow me to demonstrate how a reply to this thread is supposed to look. First of I would like to have SailorMoon's Transformation pen so I could change into all sorts of things. Such as a air traffic controler, a George Bush impersonator, an Elvis impersonator and maybe Rumsfeld so I could work on doing a better job for the DOD (Department of Defense) and our nations' security in general. Then I would like Speed Racer's Car the Mach5 simply because I want to have it. Heck, I could even transform myself into a race car driver with the transformation pen and then use the Mach 5 to be a race car driver. Oh, I want Miaka Yuki's metabolism I mean, have you seen the girl eat? And she doesn't seem to gain weight I could use that. Simply because I don't want to excersize all the time. Vash's red Trenchcoat because I want to be envied. I think it would go good with some of my clothes. Vash could always get a new one right? I could be the envy of all my friends with an authentic Vash the Stampede trenchcoat. I wouldn't even let Lincoln borrow it. Let's see...Kagura's feather. Think of the money you could save on air travel. And think of the time you'd save not going through airport security. Then think of all the people you could freak out flying around on a feather. Yeah...you see my point. Ok, so air traffic control might get a bit pissed. but once you explained why I'm sure they'd get over it. Not too logical for me, but I would Love to have Izumi Himuro's Tennis skills (FYI Izumi is from Princess9). No special reason except that I'd really like to improve my tennis game...maybe give Anna K. a run for her money? Duo's hair He just seems to be drawn with really nice thick brown hair and I like it. I'm a hair person... I think it's because I'm a Leo and Leo's really have a thing about their hair and other people's hair. That's really it, no other reason. Hmm, I really can't think of anything else I'd want or need right now.
 10.
By the way, does anyone notice over the past few years that this holiday is getting bigger? At least in my area. People now have Valentines day lights on their house. Just weird. EDIT: To answer Sonata's question, Beltane (thats how its really spelt...no offence, Chibi. ^_^) is a pagan feast of fertility that takes place after sunset of April 30th into May 1st. Also called, May Day. Basically its a traditional night of bonfires, followed the next day by dancing, continued feasting, and the weaving of the Maypole. For Wiccans, sex magick and other fertility rites are also performed on this night/day.
There have been people decorating their houses for Valentine's day around my area for years. There are two houses the next town over from me who decorate for every season...even St. Patrick's day! And you're right it is weird. Ok, yeah, I know I misspelled Beltane...I get mommy stuff for that tho. But you got the whole story right. You're also not to get married in May because it's an insult to the God and Goddess (lucky for my parent's they're Catholic) The colors of Beltane are red and white to simbolize...
Blood and semen
because of the fact that it's a fertility sabbat (holiday). And that's why the song goes: If you can't get laid on Beltane then you can't get laid at all :D
 11. I looked, I really really did and I didn't see a thread on this in the directory...so in honor of my cousin I decided to make one up. Say Hello to my Hello Kitty thread. I don't know too much about this anime...yes it is and anime except that it was created in 1976 and is still going strong. In fact Sanrio is already getting ready to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Hello Kitty. Hello Kitty merchandise is becoming extremely popular...at least where i live. There's even Hello Kitty cosmetics to go in your Hello Kitty purse which you can carry while you wear your Hello Kitty clothing. And you can curl your hair with a Hello Kitty curling iron after you've washed it with Hello Kitty shampoo....I even found a Hello Kitty vibrator online. Ok, so that was only supposed to be sold in Japan...but I did find one. I've never seen the anime though. I know it's kid based. Like my daughter would really enjoy watching it. But it looks really cute. The animation looks like Super Milk chan, but it's for little kids so I don't think they'd care all that much. So, I've shared my thoughts on Hello Kitty, does anyone else want to contribute?
 12.
Not really sure what you're trying to discuss but I'm going to give this a shot. Well recently actually today there was this episode of InuYash in which Inu and Kagome were trying to help Kagome's Brother with a crush he had. The whole episode revolved around him trying to woo and find the right words to say to this girl. Naturally, they writers took the unrealistic way out of this situation and had the bro tell his feelings to his crush who in response had the same feelings and they kissed. Which we all know rarely happens in life.....but it was none the less a cute v-day type episode.
Well...the episode you were talking about was Sota's big crush...or something. I saw a fansub of the episode and it recently aired on Adult Swim...so kawaii  Ok, not very likely in a cynical pesimist's point of veiw, but it was kawaii. A few mushy moments in SailorMoon that I can think of...well, the majority of the SailorMoonS movie. Like when Himeko came back from space and ran into the guy's arms. Luna and Artemis ...and yeah even Usagi and *gag* Mamoru *gag*. Fushigi Yugi has too many Miaka and Tamahome fluff moments to count...and I can't think of anything else at the moment.
 13.
Interesting, most interesting. One thing though that does amuse me about first-timers coming to Ireland is they seem to be amazed that Irish people don't all have red hair and live in thatches houses.
I don't find the whole 'Red haired Irish people' to be all that true myself. I only know of 3 people of Irish decent who have red hair: My aunt kathy, my friend Christina and my great aunt Lilian. And my great aunt's hair was dyed. MOst Irish and Irish decendant people I know have dark hair...like myself...stupid stereotypes.
 14. Lincoln won't help me with a thread in the longe so I made one here instead Daria as many of you may remember was a cartoon that aired on MTV from I believe 1996 until 2002. And the main character was a girl named Daria who was cynical and bitingly sarcastic. I liked this show because the character wasn't pretty or popular. She was emberassed by her parents and annoyed by her sister and she annoyed her sister. She was an outcast because she was smart. So does anyone else have anything to share?
 15. I saw that on prime time news...must have been after my local news. I also saw it on CNN. Apperantly someone sent a picture to an Islamic website bragging about holding a soldier hostage. Teh US commanders did head counts and they weren't missing anyone. So yeah it was a rather elaborate hoax. What I want to know is when is Barbie or a Bratz doll going to be held hostage?
 16. I'm pretty sure we went to the moon. We had to keep up with the soviets some how and they had already sent people to the moon prior to 1969. So your teacher's not only a moron, he's a moron who doesn't know jack. Heck, I even went to Neil Armstrong Elementary school for 2 years...if that isn't proof then I don't know what is.
 17.
Except for Biology. When you have a hippie teacher like I do who talks about his Grateful Dead rubber stamps than the actual lesson, then you know all is lost for that freak and your grade.[/FONT']
My biology/Chemistry (he taught both classes and I had him two years in a row) teacher sounds better than your bio teahcer. Mr.M (he had us call him that because his last name was so ungodly long) worked for animal control during the summer for extra money. He would tell us about the time he went to remove a raccoon from someone's chiminey and ended up falling off the roof of the 3 story house and landing inches from the pavement. He woke up three days later with a catheter in his...well I forgot his word for them. But yeah very entertaining story There was also the story about how he electrocuted himself during a chemistry class...my chemistry class. It involved one of those electric orb things and he didn't ground himslef properly one second he's explaining the electric current, next second he's on the ground. He was a cool teacher though, he made class fun. And he was fair too. SOme kid threw a piece of perch into my bookbag during lab (and screwed up my Neptune Picture) and he wouldn't let anyone go to their locker between lab and class because he wouldn't confess to it.
 18.
I got to see where my ancestors from England came from. Also, they used to own most of Pennslyvania during the colony days, but alas, they had to sell it. -_-
My ancestors used to own a lot of land too....then my other ancestors came along and one side started hating on the other and it got really icky. Ok...well, my great-great paternal grandparents on my grandmother's side came from Alsace Lorraine back in 1860 and settled in Western New York. Then a year and a half later my great great grandfather joined up for the NYS reservists and fought in the Civil War...for the North dur, this left his wife with 1 baby and working on the farm...obviously he came back. One of my other great great's on the maternal side worked in the kitchens at Buckingham palace prior to leaving for the US. My mom's grandma on her maternal side was struck by lightning twice while ironing on two separate occasions. Ok, so that's not very news worthy, but hey how many people get struck by lightning twice? And my paternal grandfather was at Pearl Harbor when it was bombed and was reported dead. Obviously he wasn't.
 19. Oh, it's like the best four years of your life...if you become extremely depressed after. Homework is a boring necessary evil because if you don't do homework you'll have to hope your teacher really didn't want it handed in and only wanted you to give an example. I graduated 89 out of 345 students in 1999. I have a regents diploma. I'm currently unemployed. I'm just glad that I graduated without having a nervous breakdown. College was slightly better...atleast there you can do things to some of the people who annoy you...like cleaning around the faucets with her toothbrush. :D
 20.
But you would hate it if you where me i had to spend last year with my brother and all he did was make out in front of me and then they went back to his bedroom and had sex with his girlfriend and i was still in the house .
Dude, I am just so glad I'm not you. I'd rather spend Valentines Day with my Aunt's dog than with someone that obnoxious. And I know obnoxious. I want to be a chicken I want to be a duck I am so indecisive Chibi Horsewoman
 21.
Secondly, references are all over the place. In the context of CHW's original post, I thought this was about "performance enhancing" drugs. In my context, though, I was saying that viagra can and is used as a regeneration drug, restoring natural function for those who have lost it (i.e., I knowingly shifted the frame). However, within that new frame, birth-control pills can be seen as sterilizing, and "performance enhancing" ones can be considered regenerative.
Ok, I admit that I did word my thread a bit wrong..so it was slightly missleading...I appologize for that. I think sterilizing is a bit too strong of a word. When I think sterilize I think hystorectomy. I think of being on the pill or Depro Or The patch as more of a preserving method.
Time is not a factor! Duration is as trivial for this as it is for, say, your leg being paralyzed. It doesn't have to be a permanent thing (e.g., "your leg is permanently paralyzed" vs "your leg is temporarily paralyzed" - who cares?). Why did I shift the frame? Because I felt that CHW was looking at the dilemma the wrong way.
Fair enough, but I think you're looking at the benefits of birth control the wrong way. I'm not sure what else to add to this paragraph except that maybe being temporarily 'sterilized' is a good thing. While a woman is on the pill there is less chance of her having an unwanted pregnancy which could result in an abortion. Since this cuurent administration is so blatently pro-life I would think that this would be a good thing. Plus we have a better knowledge of our menstral cycle, which is good for both men and women.
So, in keeping with the shifted frame, I continued and built on the topic, stating that there's not going to be a female sex regeneration pill for quite some time (maybe never).
There really isn't much need for one since we don't need to be able to get it up to have an orgasm, just a rush of blood to the g-spot and wham.... And there is a pill to help with being stimulated...
Again, CHW asked why "performance enhancing" drugs are supported for men but birth-control pills are not for women. I turned the tables and said that these performance enhancing drugs also have a medical benefit to them that birth-control pills just don't, regardless of how you slice them. I never said anything about the "enhancing" part of anything. "I don't really condone Viagra for sexual purposes, but I understand why it is considered a health-related drug."?)[/SIZE']
I honestly don't consider a guy being able to have sex a medical benefit...maybe in my next life when I'm a 78 year old man and I want to get it on but need a blue pill to do so I will, but not in this life. I'm assuming that you're a guy and have never had menstral cramps so bad that you can barely stand up let a lone go to your classes so your grades drop. I had those and let me tell you, Drix was close in his discrption of being hit in the balls...so I've heard. He should have moved up though and compared it to being slugged in the stomach with a 2X4. Enter the medical miracle called Ortho-Trycyclin...I can actually walk upright again and not have a sudden need to choke someone every 30 seconds becuase this pretty green/two colors of blue or yellow and two colors of blue pill helps to make me less of an obnoxious bee-yotch every 3-5 days a month. Also, taking the pill can help to lighten a heavy period, which is a huge relief when you worry about leakage and white or khaki pants. Plus, for all you pro-life people. As I mentioned before a woman on the pill is less likely to get pregnant-because the pill prohibits sperm from fertilizing the egg (not because the hormones kill the embryo as some people think)-so that means less unplanned (I hate unwanted) pregnancies which result in less abortions. Which leads me to wonder why more anti abortion people don't quit shooting doctors and begin preaching the goodness of contraceptives. I
 22. Well, I was a regular country girl until I met Lincoln...ok so I listened to some pop stuff, but here's some band I've been introduced to: New Found Glory- He had heard of them and heard their music, but I bought him their second CD Good Charlotte-Again same as New Found Glory, but I bought Lincoln thier first CD LeeAnne Womack- Ok, so she's a singer, not a band, but I was introduced to her by my best friend Becky. They Might Be Giants-I heard them on Tiny Toons, but didn't know who they were. But thanks to having Amanda as my lab partner and friend I learned who they were and found more music. Linkin Park, God Smack, Concrete Blonde, Drop Kick Murphy's, Floggin' Molly and Atari's, SevenDust, Deadsy, Papa Roach, The Donnas and Kittie-All from Lincoln Poe A girl I worked with let me borrow the CD. If I may add to this thread, what bands or singers have you introduced your friends to? I introduced my husband and friends to Dixie Chicks and I told Lincoln I had heard of Maroon5 before he came back on leave in September. And 30 Seconds to Mars that I remember sending to him. I've introduced Lincoln's cousin, her boyfriend and my friends to The Ataris I highly recommend So Long Astoria their newest album along with their first one, Look forward to failure. I don't remember the names of all the bands, but I've sent Lincoln quite a few CDs of new bands that haven't been heard on the radio.
 23.
I imagine to strap George Bush, naked, to the front of a tank would also be a suitable way to spend such money.
Naked? Oh come on man! It's bad enough that the citizens of the United States have to see his big eared self clothed! But naked? I think I'd have to go gouge my eyes out with a rusty nail! I just found something to love about Bush...Child Tax Credits. Chibi Horsewoman.
 24.
Think about what you just said. :p And before Azure gets lynched, I'd like to raise the possibilty (just the possibility, mind) that his 'ewww' comment, taken in context, was not slamming those of the female persuasion. Also, he's probably not jealous of Chibi's daughter. Let's try not to get too defensive. We may not all be adults, but we can at least pretend, eh? Keep it civil. vote for pedro, Sara
Ok, I see how what I said looks a bit off. But I couldn't think of a better way to put it. Yes, it prohibits pregnancy...to a point because it is still possible to get pregnant on the pill. But the way Azure put it is it makes a woman steril...that would mean that by taking the pill or getting a shot the woman is basically getting a historectomy. Which is completely untrue. I'm not quite sure what else to add to this since I've been adding to this since this morning. But I don't think he's jealous of my daughter...that would be kind of strange
 25. I tried to watch the show, but the previews made me gag. I caught fifteen minutes of it and it made me yern for SailorMoon...DiC dubbed SailorMoon. With Terri Hawke as Serena... and the evil made Rei. It's poorly animated and doesn't seem to have much of a plot. Personally I think it wasn't worth the cells to make it and fan artists could have done better.
