...Why Lunox if I might ask were you given such an esoteric subject to write about as bogs in Irish poetry ?
Purhaps because there were no beaches to write about in Irish poetry? But yeah Lunox, that is a very strange topic. Ooh 11.5 hours til I go back to work... someone please hit me with a tranq.
As I read your posts, the only things that come to mind to explain your behavior are either 1) you are trying to feel some sort of empowerment, 2) you live in a very forward and possibly promiscuous family, or 3) you enjoy taking advantage of the internet's anonymity to say things you would fain say around tangible people. I hope it is one of those three, because option 4 is so terribly demeaning that should I present it I would spawn yet another contest over truth versus "let's not potentially hurt anyone's feelings".
You skipped five. It's an inside joke between Chibi Master and I that has origins in our YIM convos. Really we're not trying to offend anyone. And if you've seen Chibi Master's posts on here you've seen mine too. And everyone on here is pretty well aware of my non virgin status. Ok that said: I'm trying to explain to my friend's boyfriend that he should buy me an ipod for my birthday because it would make my friend happy to see me happy.
The majority of OB are either in college or regularly blow their money on alcohol, pot, or anime. Or both. Take your pick.
You forgot the members who either are still in secondary school so they don't have jobs just allowance and the ones who have children and jobs and have to part with their money on a regular basis. I have access to about 2 grand right now, but most of it is in savings and I'm finally going on holiday in September so I just don't want to use it. Plus who in their right mind wants to lug around more than 100$ when they don't need to?
We should force them to go to The Chibis' "Sex is Bad" Educational Camp! Yes. We have a camp. But it is true that sex is bad and childbirth is worse. Plus consider what that child could turn into. YOu could have Rush Limbough or Stephen Harper! To everyone in the Spam discussion: Turkey Spam isn't considered kosher because it too closely resembles a product made from a non kosher animal. That's why they can't serve turkey bacon/ sausage or veggie burgers with cheese at the Jewish Home. It resembles unkosher food so it's for all intents and purposes non kosher.
You are my sneezing twin. It seems like every week, I have to quietly duck out of a lecture to avoid disturbing the class with a five-minute sneezing fit. I was twenty-two before I ever sneezed just once. And since then, it has never happened again. But man. That one time... it was awesome.
I know what you mean! I just sneezed like 10 times this morning because of my sinuses! It's pretty bad at work too. I tend to sneeze really loud and frighten the elderly. And Sara you're lucky I'm almost twenty-eight and I have yet to sneeze just once. So I really hate you for that. :catgirl: I feel bad about myself but not too bad. I've made some grown men cry recently and told my friend's boyfriend that if he has to brag about his skills he's obviously not as good as he thinks he is.

Worst Food Service Experiences
ChibiHorsewoman replied to chibi-master's topic in General Discussion
. . . Sounds like it, yeah.
Well at least I'm able to admit it.:catgirl: Okay I don't know why it is but all my bad food experiances seem to happen at McDonald's. Two weeks ago I'd gone to the one on Hudson Ave (okay none of you know where that is) with my daughter and we'd ordered chicken nuggets drinks and fries. Then waited about fifteen minutes for our stuff while two customers after me got their orders and I was told that they didn't put the orders in consecitive order. :animesigh Then when I finally got my food the fries were cold and they'd forgotten the dipping sauce. I was just too aggrivated to deal with anything else but the sauce. I'd just had a root canal for sobbing out loud! I did not want to wait another fifteen minutes for some fresh fries. So instead I counted my losses and just took my daughter to the museum. But seriously I don't even wait that long at Bill Gray's. -
Worst Food Service Experiences
ChibiHorsewoman replied to chibi-master's topic in General Discussion
As a man of reasonable intelligence and an ex-Wendy's worker I'd have to disagree with this stereotype. There are intelligent people who work in food service and hold conversations about philosophy in the break room while all you grotty little consumers come to get your saturated fats and sugars.
I've worked at Wendy's and McDonalds. Most of the people there were about as deep as the fryers. As for intelligence, my supervisor at McDonald's couldn't quite figure out that since I was pregnant I had a heightened sense of smell and had to pee a lot. I also worked with a 40 something who tried to start stuff with me and then at Wendy's I won't even go there. Yes I'm sure there are some smart people in fast food such as my cousin who worked at Subway (which btw is another brain trust- I worked there for like 2 weeks) but for the most part you've got a lot of high school and college kids. And then the adults... well I'm just biased I guess -
Excuse me, but could you elaborate further on this. I don't mean to cause offence, I only find this comparison interesting.
The way she explained it was that because of all the discrimination the Irish faced moving to a new country and how the famine was handled by the English land holders. Anyone who's hear of NINA signs (No Irish Need Apply) and then Gentile only signs would understand. She's not the first one to mention it either. Another one of the residents at the assisted living community I work at that is 40% Jewish has said the same thing.

I've had a long work week,. It's so long it won't be done til next Thursday. And I talked to one of my holocaust survivor residents today and she said that the Jews and the Irish have a lot in common.
What's next vending machines with sushi rolls? Wait, don't even anwser that.
Under normal circumstances I would listen, but it doesn't suit me today. :animeswea Seeing that vending machines are only stocked once a week (sometimess less often than that- the vending machine in our breakroom at my full time job is twice a month if that) I don't see that being a good idea. Instead I see that being a breeding ground for food poisoning. However you can get a hamburger or chicken from some of the machines. Oh for the good old days when you could only hope to accidentally get a condom out of the vending machine.
...I must be the only person in the world that liked their pizza. But I remember it from a few months ago when I took my daughter there. She wanted to go- I'd rather have eatten cardboard with some cheese on it. That would've been more appetizing- but at least she had fun. As for being a warped kid. I was just picky. I wouldn't even drink Kool Aid
Here, it's just ADD weather. One day will be beautiful and sunny, the next it'll be cloudy and gloomy. Sunday we were under a tornado watch, out of friggin nowhere.
