1. I come here about once or twice a day to read replies to the threads I've posted on. I also mess around here while I'm talking with my husband. As for why, because I'm curious. I want to see what's new and if anyone read what I put up. I like debate threads because I like to antagonize people for the sheer joy of it. I like news threads because I like to read various opinions. And I like other threads because I can't think of a good reason...oh look, a chicken! Upon further evaulation I come here a lot because coming to OB is a heck of a lot cheaper than therapy
 2. I used to play with Ouji boards a lot..the mass produced Parker Brother's kind. I played it with a friend I had down the street who would try to contact my great-pa and spell his name wrong so I knew she was jokiing. However, I wasn't allowed to use it at my house too often because it freaked out my mom. That was back when I was between 7 and 10. I'm taking a class in Wicca 1 right now and last week we were talking about different ways to do divination such as runes, tarot and spirit boards. We got on the topic of Ouji boards...and now I know I'll probably get laughed at a bit for this, but my teacher said that they were usually controlled by low level spirits like say Hitler and maybe Stalin. So yeah you could mes with them, but remember that they're visting your world they're dead and it's not their world anymore. So if you do use one be careful.
 3. ok, the reason that nothing is capitaliozed us because i'm feeding abby, but that's not the topic. in reply to the post, i'm going to say that winter smells blue...even though the colors you see right now are green and red, i always think of winter as blue. don't believe me? take a good whiff next time you go out, provided you live in the northern hemisphere. i'm sure you'll agree. I (I'm too lazy to go back and fi this now) think that if I had to give summer a color,it would be bright yellow. Because yellow makes me fel warm. now I'm thinking of horses because my lesson is later today, their smell is definately a rich emerald green. Because it stays with you for a while.; It could be a color that not everyone likes either, but I can't think of one at the moment. Oh and the army, if it was a color would be the nastiest shade of brown immaginable. Ok, now that I've comfused everyone I think I'll go see what other trheads there are.
 4. 'HEY Will! Quit playing chicken and get back to work! Oh, and are we ever gonna get a winner?
 5. Ooh, I know what I want for YULE! I want my 2 month old daughter to get potty trained by new years day so I don't have to change diapers anymore! Then I want her to learn how to make her own bottles so I don't have to do that either. Realistically though? I want Abby to be able to sleep in her crib from about 11:40Pm to about 7:30 AM so I can get a job and be a productive member of society again. For that all she has to do is weigh 11lbs 1 oz. So yeah, abby neds to gain weight too.
 6. I have one really bad expericance that I haven't really completely told Lincoln yet about my ex so I really can't explain the whole thing here...let's just say it's nearly as bad as Wiccan's and leave it at that. Other than that the worst just my family experiance would be last year around this time, my dad decided that he'd go and lose his mind for a bit and started ranting on everyone. Saying he was trying to help my marriage and saying something about how this was Jesus' house (come to think about it he still won't stop bringing up going to church. *sigh*) He then locked my mom out of their bedroom and started going through her things and he took her car keys. My mom called the cops who didn't do anything except talk to them. Then she called her parents and her older sister. My mom and I ended up staying with her older sister that night. I vaguely remember the same thing happening when I was in third grade except we stayed at my mom's parent's house and it lasted for three days instead of just one. But compared to Lincoln I don't have anything.
 7.
Even if he's a legal adult? That's rather odd. Your parents, I'm sure, should be able to dodge that. Let him get a public defender if money's the issue. If he can't make bail, if that's even required, tough. Maybe you need to talk to your parents about this as well. They're doing more harm than good by covering for him like that.
Unless he's 21 or moved out of the house-in that case my parents can declare him an emancipated minor-they are legally responsible for his court costs. As for the public defender thing. They'd have to pay for that too. My mom knows this because one of her friend's sons got into some trouble and they refused to pay for a lawyer for the guy. They still had to pay for the public defender because of their income, same with my parents. You want to know the real kicker? He's already on probation but his probation officer never calls to check up on him. My mom's afraid that if I press charges instead of going to jail for fraude he'll be put on house arrest. That would just be so much fun, don't ya think?
 8. Real quick clarification. The only reason I really don't want to press charges is because if I do I'm afraid that my parents will end up with all the legal fees. In the state of New York if your child commits a crime and lives at home you as a parent are liable for the court costs. Stupid huh? My parents go to see their lawyer on the 16th to see if there's anything they can do to avoid having to pay court costs and for a lawyer for my brother. As for money, he's stolen varying ammounts from just a few bucks to $60. withdrawn from my checking account. He's also taken my car a few times just because his doesn't have enough gas in it and every time this has happened my mom's compensated me and not made him pay me back any of the money which really pisses me off. Lincoln says I should try to remove emotions from the situation and think rationally about the whole situation as I would if stranger had seen my pin # and stolen my debit card. Needless to say Lincoln's childhood of having to sleep on the floor because his mom couldn't be bothered to find him a bed, being locked in his room , going without food, and having to drink water from a toilet because his mom and step dad decided to turn off the water so he couldn't get a drink in the middle of the night leave my husband with no sympathy for my brother who had a pretty good childhood compared to my husband's. And in reply to Godel's question, yes, when my daughter reaches the age of knowing right from wrong (I'd say about 4) and she steals something from a store while we're grocery shopping or does it later of course I'm going to make her take it back.
 9.
Siren where do you get off dumping on someones beliefs. That's the same as calling someone a jew or n____r.
Yes, the world is about to come crashing to a halt because I'm siding with Siren in this one before I go on to the actual topic. Where do you get off dumping on other people for their beliefs? Isn't that the same as what you're doing to Siren and everyone else? I don't think it's in teh same catergory as name calling though. Name callingis a completely different catergory than making fun of someone's beliefs.
You aren't even out of school yet, still wet behind the ears. What life experience do you have? Call Rin on somethng? All I did was see a rant bashing someone else, my wife after she apoligized and said she wished to offend no one and that it was her last post on this thread you continue to attack. The cowards approach, hit from behind.. And you continued your attack even after the moderators asked for a cessation. [/color']
Where does he says he's not out of school yet? Correct me if I'm wrong here, but age doesn't always equal wisdom. If that were the case, I would have taken my mother-in-law's advice on the whole 'put your daughter in a pillow case and turnj her upside down becasue a pediatrician told me so' thing. Instead I took it as I take the rest of what she says. Get off your high horse about being older and therefore wiser than the rest of us and act your age. And aren't you doing the same thing that the moderators said to try and stop on?
I suggest you actually study some of those books you talk about instead of just looking at the pictures. [/color']
Again, please act your age. Suggesting that someone just looks at pictures in books that he or she read isn't exactly maturity afirming.
I also suggest that you give up the idea of teaching since your posts show you are unfit to be trusted with the education of children. Not willing to accept other peoples beliefs no matter how strange is a sign of bigotry and intolerence. Bigots and the intolerant shouldn't be allowed anywhere near our children. [/color']
Now, I'll be one of the first to admit that Siren's posts can be a bit cutting and sometimes very rude I have some personal experiance with the receiving end of some of his replies. But you have to admit that he usually knows what he's talking about and is very clear on his beliefs. Actually, I find some of Rin's beliefs a bit disturbing as well since I'm a woman and really have no problem with someone asking my age. I'm also very to the point instead of puddy footing around a subject or sugar coating it because I don't want to offend other people. I think the time for acting like a lady all the time is past its use by date-in my personal opinion I think it expired right after the end of World War one. I'd be more likely to allow siren near my daughter than you any day. (El, I must be losing it)
People are entitled to their dreams and desires. They are entitled to happiness, even says so in writing. After watching her puppies have their heads literaly ripped off. After being assaulted and beaten. You have no right to do that to anyone. Online or off. [/color']
Wait...you just told Siren that he shouldn't keep wanting to be a teacher then you said that everyone is entitled to their dreams...does the word hypocrisy mean anything to you? Can you please tell me what puppies and assualt have to do with this post because you completely lost me there. I've been assualted, I've been threatened. I've even physically thrown a guy out of my dorm in college and called the cops to press charges. Does that mean that now everyone has to be nice to me and agree with whatever I say? Damn, I should have taken advantage of that a while back!
I also think Rin just proved her point about etequitte an manners. you have none. [/color']
What? That you should always act like friggin' Mary Sunshine every day or you have no manners? In that case neither do you, neither do the rest of us, except for Rin, Kathy Lee Griffin and Katie Coric because they're sweet enough to give you cavities.
Hooyah
I hope you Did Hear opperate and...well I forget the last part of it. But two things, 1.) It's either Hooah or Hoorah and 2.) Why is it that all extreme military idiots seem to be the most hard headed? I think I should ask my husband who treats me as an equal and who I've been married to for 2 years and not had an easy perfect time of it that question. OOOOOOOkay, that's over with. The most idiodic piece of advice I've ever heard for a relationship comes from my Grandma who says that you should always defere to your husband for advice and whatever he says goes. Yeah, sure....so, I should have let him buy the drums we have no room for while he's in Iraq??? PLease, in heterosexual relationships women are at times put there to save men from themselves.
 10.
From the view point of etiquette and manners you never ask a woman her age or ask her to make a reference to it. You can offend many women this way. On the other hand they are women and am a girl. If I was a woman I wouldn't be here. Ranger is 58, I am 41 the difference is 17 years. He still calls me a "cute and adorable young woman" and "my little girl".
Ookay, now I know what everyone is up in arms about...I think. Honestly you just freaked me out right there and it takes a lot to freak me out. My daughter was choking last week and I managed to stay calm enough to remember infant CPR, that didn't freak me out, you do. First off, I have no problem with someone asking my age since most people think that I'm a lot younger (about 7 years younger) than I really am. I'm 23, I think it's a bit out dated and does a lot to help to perpetuate the stigma that older women are somehow less desirable than younger women. Of course, you couldn't prove that with Ashton and Demi. My mom's 51, she looks about 39, so I don't think she's offended by peopel asking her age either. And we're both women. I find it creepy that you think it's cute that your husband referes to you as his little girl. Me personally, I'd gag if my husband called me that. He can't do it in teh first place since I'm nearly a whole year older than him, but it would creep me out if I was younger and he did do that. Also, i find it rather amusing that two of the oldest people on this board are acting like children. Maybe you should get a time out instead of Baron. I'm sure you're a very nice interesting individual, both of you, but maybe you should take some time to practice what you preach when it comes to manners.
 11.
On a side note, how old is your brother?
He's 20 years old, which means that he's obviously old enought to know better, but too young for my parent's to completly wash their hands of him unless he moves out. Then he could be considered an emancipated minor.
 12. Hey look, an advice thread that doesn't have anything to do with romantic relationships! Ok, funny stuff over. This past Friday I received a call from Visa ,which is the company that I have my debit card with. It turns out that there were some questionable charges made on the card and they wanted to ask me about it. The charges were all made in my area as well and the majority of them were at gas stations. Well, I went to my bank and talked to them about it, they canceled both mine and my husband's debit cards, which pretty much screwed Lincoln since he's in Iraq, but anyways...new cards were issued to us. Then I came home and started IMing Lincoln in the middle of it, my brother came up and confessed that he had taken my card (he had seen me use my pin # a few weeks back when I bought him a birthday present.) and used it on quite a few occasions. But he said he'd pay me back with is next pay check. I told Lincoln that he had confessed and Lincoln wants to press charges. I really don't want to because he's my brother and it was only $300. I don't think that sending someone to jail over $300 is exactly right. However, he's stolen smaller amounts before. So my question is do you think I should go along with Lincoln to press charges if it means saving my marriage or what? I'm pretty much confused even tho Lincoln's pretty much set in his disicion (Sp?). Yes there will be a poll too. any advice would be appreciated. Thank you
 13. I'm going to ignore this whole thing because 1.) my mom's 51 and doesn't care who knows and 2.) it makes my head hurt. But would a really funny break up count as something idiotic said about a relationship? Because I have a good one. When I broke up with my ex over the phone he told me to hurry up because he didn't have much time to talk to me-honestly I was still thinking of trying to work on it until he said that. I replied 'Ok, I'll hurry up. My doctor wants me to lose weight so I'm starting with you. I have to break up with you bhecause my dog feels neglected and your breath is like Altoids in reverse. Was that quick enough?' Yes, I said that all in one breath and very fast. For soem reason instead of a reply he hung up the phone. I didn't hear from him again until I began seeing Lincoln. Somehow he found out about it and came to bother me at work saying' I heard you were seeing Lincoln.' and 'Was that why you broke up with me?' and basically harassing me. But yeah, that was idiodic.
 14.
Oh, and is it just me, or is Mamoru about ten times cooler than that dorky Tuxedo Mask? I prefer to think of them as separate people. :p ~Dagger~
Eh, you could be, but that's because I don't like Mamoru or Tuxedo Kamen at all. So I have a slightly biased opinion on the guy. Besides if you like Zoisite you may end up disliking Mamoru/Tuxedo Kamen after a while because
he's the reason Beryl kills Zoisite
At least in my opinion.
 15. Yet another good arguement for the need for stricter laws for fire arms. I think that one was slightly better than the last one.
 16. Ok people, let's have a somewhat intelligent discussion about this topic. I want nice clean posts, no spam, no exsessive smilies spoiler tags in places that need spoiler tags. Ready? Ok, let's post. The topic I hope isn't too general. If it is I appologize because I tried really hard not to do that. The question is of course who is you least favorite villain. Could be male or female. Could be Both. If your least favorite Villain is Zoicite or Fish Eye, then it most definately is both (NA dub joke). As for myself my least favorite male villain is Nakago from Fushigi Yugi First off I really don't like his hair. What was Yu Watase thinking when she gave a guy, who is supposed to be a cold hearted manipulator, a mullet?! Yeah, that's intimidating! A mullet! Then he's just a very nasty guy
Yes, he was abused by the emperor and saw his mother killed,
but why not seek therapy instead of using people and lying to them all the time? Would that be so hard? But no, instead the guy had to
lie to Yui about her being raped which would actually make her unfit to be the priestess of Seiyruu, lie to Suboshi (? I get them mixed up) about Miaka killing Amiboshi(?). Abused and then killed another of the seiyruu seven and uses Soi for his own personal pleasure
Basically he's a low life and a loser. So, there's my male villain I'll do more later. I think.
 17. Yeah, I know it sounds like a dumb question, but I'm curious to see if people on here actually classify themselves into groups by the way they dress. So do you? Would you consider yourself to be preppy (ie Oh look, Abercrombie and Fitch is having a sale!) Goth? Punk? A combination of everything? (Ie, the shirt is from Good Will, the skirt is from Old Navy and I got the socks and the boots at Hot Topic). Also do you associate with people who don't dress like you do? Do you and your friends always have to be dressed a certain way? As for myself even in high school my friends and I never really seemed to follow a set pattern-well except for Amanda who I guess you'd say dresses punk, but we never classified ourselves. At least I don't think we did. We still don't. My husband and I are probably the biggest offenders of trend crossing. But oh well. I hope this generates some discussion. If not well, at least I can attempt to regain my place as most talkative.
 18. Being a successful writer would be nice if I could ever finish one of my stories. However, I'm a procrastinator so.... I think I'd also like to be one of those people who announces the lotto numbers on TV. Sure, there's not a lot of money involved, but all you have to do is know how to count from 1 to 52 and you can call the lotto numbers. EDIT: Then again maybe I want to be the star of my own reality TV show. I'll do weird things like oh...bungee jumping and asking my husband if I'm eating Tuna or chicken. I'll even get my mother-in-law drunk on national teleision every few weeks for a few laughs.
 19.

Well, in PETA's defense not eating penguin seemed like a good idea at the time
 20.
I hate kikyo
Why does everyone seem to hate Kikyo so much? Yeah, she wants to kill InuYasha, and she tried to kill Kagome and she gave the nearly completed Shikon no tama to Naraku, but there's more to her than that. Many Kagome/InuYasha fans like to site the fact that Kikyo keeps trying to steal InuYasha from Kagome. But hardly any of them stop to think of the fact that if Onigumo had never appeared and then became Naraku, Kikyo would have used teh Shikon no Tama to allow InuYasha to become human and be with him. Then Kagome would never have existed in the first place....Of course then there would have been no story, or a very boring story so of course there had to be some kind of antagonist to start off the story and make it more interesting than just romance.
 21. I'm slowly falling in love with Ryo Hizakawa (?) from Princess9. She's a very strong character. She really wants the girl's baseball team to succeed and at the same time she was willing
to risk the team just because she felt she was causing so much pain to Izumi
I kind of admired that. Speaking of Princess9, I also like Izumi. Not because of her attitude because at times I find her to be nothing but a spoiled child, but you have to respect someone who pushes themself to the point of exhaustion.
 22. Honestly I don't know why I came up with this thread, I know how I came up with it. I was watching Wheel of Fortune and thinking how much money Vanna makes for just touching the screen to make a letter appear on tv. Then I figured it would really be nice to have a job where I made a lot of money by doing so little. She probably made less when the show first started and she had to actually turn the letters...I want that job! So as the title says, what is your dream job oh and why. I forgot to add why. The job can be as ordinary or of the wall as you want, but give a good reason as to why. Who knows maybe I'll think of a new one later.
 23.
you don't want a horse. believe me.
Actually, i do. But we're not ready to take on the extra expenses at this moment. But I've been riding fr 12 years and know my way around them very well.
This thread has shown me something very important. How fortunate I am to have the relationship I do and that I do not appreciate it enough.
Yeah, me too. In four years I went from some low life jerk who's biggest job right now is pushing carts to a great guy with a job that's going some where and a beautiful baby girl. I think our old roomies ex girl friend was jealous of me, because I had Lincoln and she had a giuy that made her iron his uniforms
 24. Hmm....well, there's the one where the guy goes 'You're the only one for me' and he's cheating on you with two other girls because you go to school out of town. I really love that one. Or when the guy blames you for cheating. Yet another classic which is right up there with saying that the reason he cheated is just because he is a guy. Well, at least he didn't say it wasn because he was a man, because men don't cheat. And then of course as I mentioned before there's the time my ex told me I should be nicer to him when he was cheating on me. Yes, I had one crapper of a relationship before I met Lincoln, the man who's nice enough to want to buy me a horse for christmas.
 25.
I am so thankful for TOILET PAPER! Gah, what would this world be without it's gentle softness? .[/color']
Probably using leaves and ripping out pages from catologs . That's what they used before toilet paper! And then of course someone using leaves would end up using poison oak or ivy and someoen with a catolog would get a paper cut on their butt. Ouch, So yeah, I can see the reasons for being thankful for toilet paper.
