Birth control pills should be handled very carefully, the reprocussions on hormone levels alone should be enough to require doctor perscription. I would be interested in seeing the "belief" dictated law
Birth Control pills are perscription drugs. That's why you go to a gynocologist to 1.) get a pap smear and then get a trial perscription of the pills. then 2.) get follow up check ups and see how you are reacting to the perscription. So there you have it, birth control pills are given out by perscription only. That's why I'm pregnant. I didn't get my perscription refilled on time because I was 2 minutes late for my appointment with my gynocologist. As for the belief system there have been a few cases where pharmasists have refused to fill a woman's birth control perscription based on their religious beliefs. Because many religions (including catholicism) reguard birth control as against religious law. Ironicly these are the same people who are opposed to abortions as welll.
^__^ Personally I have to side with Leh on this one. Old Spice is just? *has a dreamy look on her face* *blinks* l![/font']
Old Spice reminds me of my high school biology/ chemistry teacher. He was a real nice guy and all, but the smell just makes me think of 30 something + men with kids...or my dad. Neither one invokes any type of romantic interest. Another turn off for me is Stetson for men. My homophobic cheating dip**** of an ex wore that stuff. Now everytime I smell it I cringe. A decent one I guess would be Claibourne sport by Liz Claibourne. There was this weird guy in my chemistry class who wore it. I liked teh smell, but not the guy. You know now that I think about it I have a lot of strange memories involving people and scents-especially guys. For example, I would never buy my husband Curve for men because my brother wears it. Trust me, there is no bigger mood killer than when a guy has the same cologne as his signifighant other's relative. But hey, Curve is a nice scent...I just forgot who makes it.

Official Technical Problems Thread for OB7
ChibiHorsewoman replied to James's topic in Help & Feedback
Obviously this isn't for me, it's for my huisband. He tried to join OB a few days ago but every time he tries to log in he can't. I was told to go here. Any help? -
Let me just start out by saying that if you met my husband's aunt and her partner the whole 'two lesbians together is soo hot' idea would be shot right out the window. That's a really dumb stereotype. Next on my list: Back in the 1800's un to the mid 20th century infact-homosexuality was considered a mental disorder and people were placed in institutions. Okay so we've become a bit more civilized. Instead many parents threaten to disown their children if they find out that they're gay. Slightly better than sending them to an insane asylum, but well I still find it a bit barbaric. I've never had a problem with gay people as far as I'm concerned they're just like me only not straight. I don't get why so many straight men think that a gay man is going to hit on them. I'm not sure how that whole thing started, but just like straight women has a guy type, so do gay men (okay, I'm assuming, which is probably a bad thing for me to do, but as far as I know gay men won'ty just go over and hit on anyone) I mean think of it this way, if there was a possibility of getting beaten or even killed for coming up and talking to someone you thought was even remotely attractive would you go after every person you saw? I think the reason that both gay and lesbian relationships are so reviled in western society is because of years of Judeo Christian faith and soem really stupid people. That's my two cents fro the time being.
New developments on the school attack. The actual deathtoll was over 350+, majority students. The Russian Paralement has issued a statement claiming "The US has has practically supported the rebels," apparently because we asked them to negotiate with the Czech, "and that asking us to talk with the Czech terrorists is like asking America to talk with Osama Bin Laden". Well, Russia declared war on terrorism yesterday, go figure.
Don't you just love it when you're the cause of everyone's problems?
A few issues I just can't support: -Abortion Wait... that was one issue! That's right.. I can't stand abortion. Bush hasn't done enough to stop abortion, IMO, but Kerry will do nothing.
I know this isn't a topic on abortion, but I think Bush has done more than enough to prohibit teenagers and pre-teens on learning about safe sex and to prohibit women from getting abortions right now (ie in health class discussion on condom usage is limited to discussion on the failure rates) . I think he's done more than his fair share to prohibit a woman's choice to what her options are as far as her reproductive rights as well. (read a few of my posts) I hope if Kerry is elected he'll fix up the wording of a few laws Bush passed, maybe even over turn the FDA's descion on not allowing the morning after pill without a dr's perscription and that stupid law that says that pharmasists can refuse to fill a woman's birth control perscription based on their beliefs.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to Chibihorseman's response to my earlier comments.
Sorry 'bout that James. I've been a bit preoccupied. Pretty much aside from the whole democracy thing that he keeps trying to enforce in Iraq, which doesn't seem to be working all that well. I'm not sure how well this will come out. Bush seems to want every country to have America's way of democracy instead of an individual way of democracy. He pretty much expects Iraq and the rest of the world to become american carbon copuies. I don't think that came out very well. sorry.

I saw the movie in the theater back in I think May (hey Jessica Simpson moment here) I thought it was very funny
Especially the part involving the finger that was blown off of one of the guys. The lady's cat started carrying it around.
Tom Hanks was exceptional in his role. I did too much enjoy the first death but the others were interesting. I liked how they
turn on eachother near the end.
I have to confess that I don't remember too much else from the movie since I saw it a while ago and right now I can't even remember half of what I'm talking about.
Lol thanks for your help guys. Especially Chibi... for once I enjoyed her post. Ironic really...
And I enjoy your backhanded compliments...yeah really. I agree with Godel on Axe. The ads are dumb and the smell is way too strong. It puts me in the mind of an adolesent who is trying way too hard-like say my cousin

YOu know who else has a neat anime weapon? Kagura from InuYasha her fan can be pretty damaging-
atleast it was to Koga
. She has that neat attack with the dance of the wind blades. Too bad she only has one attack and it can't save her from Naraku. Another one is Vash's guns-the ones he has for arms that he barely uses. Now, I really wouldn't want to have my arms turn into guns when my evil brother wants to prove something, but they seem rather interesting and they'd be useful to have around in a war zone, don't you think?
When you are the only superpower left, you are[/i'] the police of the world. So it's not just a matter of who thinks it, it's a matter of what the reality is.
I'll give you that one James, but you'd think that even if the US is the only superpower left in the world we wouldn't constantly go around saying 'Hey look at me! I'm the biggest toughest country in the world! You have to do what I say.' It's not so much as being the police of the world as it is the fact that Bush and company think that everyone should be like America. That's why so many people hate us right now. It's not fun being unpopular.
-
You know what the US is like? its like that guy at the bar, who walsk around, always saying "HEY IM THE GREATEST ****** HERE, AND THERES NOTHING! YOU CAN DO ABOUT! MUHAHHAHA" and eventually wouldnt you just shoot him? America is the ONLY country that goes around saying there the greatest country on earth on a daily basis. You even notice that? your like a country of narcisists.
Amazingly enough I am an American and I'm pretty disgusted with the way my country seems to think we're the police of the world. However, I really can't stand how some people seem to think that all Americans have these huge egos and that everyone in America really wanted this war in Iraq and how we all support Bush and this stupid war. Hey, you don't see me assuming you're an idiot for not being able to spell narcissists, do you? Okay, now that I've gone off topic, let me go back on by talking about Bush's Anti-Abortion laws. First off is the Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act. Now it sounds like it's a ban on killing the infant when it's about to be born, right? Wrong. as written this act can actually ban abortions performed as early as 13 weeks into a pregnancy. It also outlaws methods of abortion used in 90% of all second trimester abortions. This law includes no exceptions for the woman's health, which I find rather scary because now suddenly a group of cells incapable of living on it's own is more important than that of the mother. Next is the Unborn Victims of Violence Act-Cunningly dubbed by Abortion opponents as "Laci and Connor's Bill" (after Laci Perterson who was murdered while she was 8 months pregnant with her son). This law says that if a woman is the victim of a violent crime hile she's pregnant the criminal should be held accountable for two murders: the mother's and the unborn child's. The problem is that there is no distinction in the bill's language between a nine-month-old fetus and a six week old embryo. So basically by granting the fetus legal status and abortion suddenly becomes grounds for a murder charge. So the Bush administration is trying to over turn the 30 year old Roe Vs Wade ruling which made abortion legal back in the 70's. Now, I would never get an abortion myself. but I don't think it should be up to the government to be every man and woman's watch dog on what they do with their bodies. A friend of mine had an abortion two years ago due to circumstances I'd rather not get into. It was a necessary decision for her to make. I just hope that if it happens to another woman in say four years it won't suddenly be illegal

My husband and I were over at a friend's house in Texas and my husband was playing with their 3 year old daughter when all the sudden the girl projectile vomited on me. Down my shirt, on my pants oh man that was not fun. Our friend was nice enough to wash my clothes tho, but we had a hell of a time finding something for me to wear while the stuff was being washed and too make matters worse I had decided to wear a thong that day. That was pretty bad, but I felt worse for the girl because she felt pretty bad after throwing up. However, I was ready to throttle Lincoln because he thought it was so funny that the 3 year old had thrown up on me...but paybacks are hell. I wonder how funny he'll think it is when our daughter pukes on him.

I collect key chains. I Used to have a SailorNeptuine one and a SailorPluto one, but 2 years ago when my old car was broken into they were on my bookbag which was stolen along with my $50 car stereo.) On my keychain which is probably in Texas in storage I have one that says Princess in beads. SailorJupiter's head (her body fell off!) a snowman in one of those snowglobes, and one that says: It's people like you who make me realize justy how special I am The ones I have up here are rather boring I have one that says: Watch out, I'm almost out of medication. Good Luck bear from the Care Bears and a surfboard that used to have a dolphin on it. I had one that was lipgloss from HardCandy (I bought it on Sephora for $6 ) but it broke. :bawl: My husband used to have a Ryo-oki keychain, but it broke when he was in Korea. He has one now that says: Hey look, My keychain says **** on it! It's about the third time he's had that keychain.

Urban Decay makes these body powders that are scented and flavored. You can get them for $25.00 on Sephora.com. And Dessert has scented and flavored perfume, but I don't think that's what you want. Cheaper end of the spectrum I like Candies for Men or soem of Bath and Body Works body sprays. They smell good and they won't hurt your small budget. More expensive stuff. Lancome Miracle (My husband wears that), Nautica Longitude Latitude (I bought that for him for his birthday one year). Vera Wang for men (1.7 fl oz for $45 @ Sephora or $65 for a 3.4 fl oz) you could probably find it at some place like Dillards, Kaufmann's, Lord and Taylor or some other upper end department store. I also like Armani por Hommes (i'm just too lazy to look for the full name and the price) For you tho, I'd go for the cheaper stuff.

Those wands that SailorMoon kept getting throughout the series were pretty neat. Depending on the setting of the show she either destroyed the youma or purified it. That would have been fun to do. What about Totosai being able to breath fire? That woudl be considered a weaon, right? That's probably one of the best qualities of his character. That and teh fact that he gets to yell at both InuYasha and Sesshomaru. I can't really think of any other weapons from anime right now. I need sleep
2a. Gay Rights. Its insulting to true minorities like African Americans, Asian Americans, Hispanic Americans, ect. to even use these terms. Sexual preference is not in the sphere of civil rights, nor should it be infringed upon. I in no way support killing/discriminating against gays. However, they cannot be allowed into the institution of marriage. To let them in would be like letting a woman become a member of Augusta National Golf Course. Unforgiveable. (Women are my favorite people, but some things aren't for you. Sorry to all the hotties round the world.).
My gut reaction is to say 'Wow, you're a closeminded imbecillic jackass' and leave it at that, but I'm trying to curb my tongue so I can be a good example to my daughter. How are gay rights insulting to true minorities? Your comments make no sense. You say that you're not against gays in general, but you don't believe that they should be allowed to have the same rights that you enjoy. What kind of logic is that? Then you turn around and equate gay marriage and marriage in general to allowing women to join a golf course. And you say that you don't believe that women should be allowed to join that golf club because it's been a good old boys club for X ammount of years and they're not worthy of joining. You'll forgive me if I can't respect any of your opinions. Epsicially since you don't feel that women should be allowed to have any civil rights along with gays.
2b. My concern is for the rights of the unborn. They live inside the women to be sure, but they are seperate entities. We have progressed a long way since Encomienda. Lets not go back that direction.
In my opinion a fetus is a group of cells up to the end of the first trimester, which is when most abortions will take place. My reasoning for this is that in the first 3 months the woman is not completely aware of the fact that she is pregnant and most miscarriages occure in the first three months of pregnancy. Growing inside the woman up to the fifth month the fetus is completely dependant on the mother for life. If it was born prior to the middle of teh second trimester it would be nearly impossible for the infant to survive on it's own. You do know that right? I think abortion should be allowed to remain legal because if it wasn't you'd still have women doing it, but the conditions would be considerably more dangerous and the mother's life would be at risk. I don't exactly agree with abortion (maybe because I'm theproduct of a teenage pregnancy), but I would never tell another woman what she should or shouldn't do with her body. It shouldn't be up to the government but to the woman and her doctor what she does with her body. I'm trying my best not to make sarcastic comments about your beliefs, but seriously you know you would never be in this situation. So maybe you should just stay out of that topic until you get a uterus.
People here think DeathBug is bad? At least he has the decency to intelligently refute things he disagrees with. I respect him for it. The fact that you couldn't even manage that is really insulting and immature.
I'm going to go ahead and agree with Semjaza about Deathbug. At least he stands by his desicions and is mature enough to respect other people's beliefs. I've never seen him make assine comments towards peole jusy because he doesn't agree with them. Hell if he ever really ran for president I'd vote for him. He'd probably make a fairly decent politician.

My top ten list as comprised by me myself and I which contains no anime. The list will go from favorite to I can live without it. 1.) Daria I'm surprised that nobody else mentioned this one as a favorite. Daria is quite possibly my favorite animated series ever. I loved her biting commentary all through high school and into college. I was so pissed when MTv took it off the air. I watch it on the N but it's not the same as it was on MTv. They only play a few episodes over and over and the episodes are edited. Also they never play them in order. Still it's better than not watching it at all I guess. 2.) Animaniacs I absolutely loved this show when it first came out. Then I watched it on Cartoon Network and WB when they were doing re-runs. My favorite episode was the one where Wacko was looking for a potty. He went into a gas station then turned on the light and you see all these bugs scatter. Then Wacko slams the door shut and announces 'I can't go potty in there it's disgusting!' Then he finds a potty in his bag. Oh man, there are so many episodes I can mention that I love. Hmm...I wonder if anyone sells the episodes on DVD. *wanders off to look* 3.) Ah Real Monsters Interesting concept in my opinion. Monsters who live under ground that attend school and have families and friends. In order to pass their class they have to scare humans. The three main monsters also had a cameo in a Rugrats episode. Okay one question from me, why is it that my three favorite cartoons got cancelled? :bawl: 4.) Rugrats I've been watching this since I was ten years old and I still like it. It's so interestin that they try and give the babies a bit more personality than usual and the parents never figure out what's really going on. Go figure. The funniest part in that cartoon though is when they mispronounce words. 5.) All Grown Up Same characters as Rugrats, but in a different setting than above. My biggest complaint right now with this series is that there aren't enough episodes so they keep showing some of teh same ones over and over again. Kind of like The N but at least Nick has a reason. 6.) Loony Toons I've been watching these since I was very young. Too young to really remember much. I always thought it was funny when Bugs Bunny would dress up as a woman to fool Elmer Fudd. What amazed me as a kid is how well it worked. Then I decided to get up and ask my dad if he'd ever had a rabbit dress up in a costume to fool him. According to him it never happened. Too bad, it would have made a great story. 7.) Strawberry Shortcake You can do ones ever right? Well that's what I'm doing now with three of the last four on my list. I liked to watch Strawberry shortcake when I was little...really little. I wanted to live in a strawberry shortcake house just like Strawberry Shortcake. It would have been so cool for a four year old I guess. I mean yeah, I'd get cavities and maybe have a slight sugar rush, but that's a chance I was willing to take. Yeah, I know that there's a new Strawberry Shortcake cartoon out now, but it's just not the same as the original..even if it does manage to keep my friend's 18 month old amused. 8.) Jem and the Holograms What can I say? I haven't seen this show in years, but I still remember it quite well...possibly because of VH1's I love the 80's Strikes back. I think Jem along with She'Ra were my first female super heros. So what else can I say-except that sometimes I think I liked the Misfits better. Hey, I just want to be bad for a while. 9.) She'Ra Princess of Power This is one 80's thing they should bring back, after all She'ra was an action figure and Cartoon network already had HeMan on for a while. She'Ra was cool, she had a horse that got some armor to look like a unicorn and a nifty sword. All I have to say is: Princess Power! 10.) Samurai Jack No real reason, I like the theme song and everything. I just I don't know what to add to this. Does anyone know if the show is still on?

The New York Yankees have been around for a bit over a hundred years now (actually I think it is 100 years this year.) That lovely score of 22-0 is their worst beating in the history of the Yankees baseball club. I guess when you get a score liek that yuou can either do one of two things, jump off the Empire State building (very easy to get to when your team is in New York city) or just realize that things can't get any worse...hopefully. What about that school stand off/ hostage situation in Russia where they've already killed 7 kids. They finally let 31 women and children out today, but they still have hostages in side and people are still hearing shots fired. Anyone have a comment on that?

Okay, quick off the topic question. Can everyone else please leave my husband out of their posts? Yes I know he joined willingly. So did my neighbor's son-in-law who's over there for 18 months because he's with teh National Guard and his unit keeps getting shot at on a regular basis. I was just siting an example I know I can't really controll what people type, but can I just ask for that? On topic, I forgot that Nadar didn't get the support or whatever, I thought it was just like every other independant party candidate, you won't hear about the person until November then they dissapear into the woodwork for another four years. Kind of like Perot. I don't really have a certain party that I like I just go by who seems like they'd mess up less and since I've seen Bush in action I think I'd rather have Kerry. Heck in the next election I might vote for McCain. He actually seems like he has a brain even if he is republican. Did anyone catch Cheney's speech at the RNC a few nights ago where he ragged on Kerry's military career? Maybe someone should remind the guy who his running mate is.

I became a high school freshman in 1995, that was the first year they didn't have the Homecoming dance because there wasn't enough interest in it. However, the stupid school board and the equally stupid faculty didn't make the announcement until about a week prior to the event. I'm quite sure that who ever bought a dress for that event was a bit pissed. Thankfully I was new to the school and didn't know too many people so I didn't buy a ticket or a dress for that occasion. Then for the next four years of my high school career the Homecoming court was announced during the Homecoming pep rally. Right before they brought out the football team and the rest of the sports teams. Yes, my school was screwed up-it still is I just don't go there any more. :D According to my brother they brought back the Homecoming dance when he was a freshman and ended up taking his girlfriend there. Which is yet another big difference between my brother and I. I was the smart kid with a few close friends and didn't go out on too many dates. He's a girl magnet-even with the girlfriend he has now there are still ones looking at him. I am so glad I was unpopular-it means it will be a hell of alot funnier in five years when I go to my ten year renunion married to a good looking guy.
Like last night, we were sitting on my couch making out, when she pulled away and said "Be right back, gotta poop." I just cracked up lauging.
I was in the middle of something very simular yet very different with my husband when I suddenly decided to announce that I had to fart. Lincoln goes: Okay so do you want to stop for a minute and let it out? That was pretty bad, but not exactly a mood killer...thank whomever.

Yes I know that many of us are either under the legal voting age in the United States or don't even live in the United Sates, but I wanted to conduct an informal survey just the same. So the obvious question is if the election were held tomorrow (and you could vote in it) who would you vote for and why? Or why wouldn't you vote for the other person? If you really want to you can try to persuade others to vote for your choice by telling them why they should vote for one person and not the other. One quick thing before I give my reasoning and my candidate this is not a post for Bush or Kerry bashing. Right now those two are doing an excellent job on their own and neither of them need the help of some anime fans. So if you give your reasoning on why you wouldn't vote for the other guy, be mature about it. Obviously right now I'd still vote for Kerry-mostly because he's not Bush. He's been much more honest in the long run than Bush has so I'd give him a chance. Because everyone deserves a chance and Bush already got his. The reason I wouldn't vote for Bush is because he's basically taken my husband away from me for a period of time. Because of him many children have lost parents either temporarily or permanently also many parents have lost children, and for what? So we can protect a country that doesn't want us there anymore? His No child left behind act would be a joke if it wasn't so damn unfunny and don't even get me started on the tax cuts which only help people making over $90K a year (definitely not me) or his Partial Birth Abortion Ban law. (Which coincidentally in wording can ban abortion on a woman who has only been pregnant for six weeks.) Well, now I've spoke my piece, I welcome everyone else to do the same.
Ah darn you Chibi, you beat me to it. ^_~ Yeah, September 7th, and December 28, 2004, the second movie. Now I'm not all completely too positive of the second movie, but I'm pretty sure it will. Gah, a Sesshoumaru/Kagura fan!! YAY!!! I must build my own fanguild for that couple.
Hey, she who laughs last thinks slowest, right? Something like that...aww well, you would have beat me to it if I didn't go to the library last night to post stuff and check my email. I hope they (ViZ) decide to release the 2nd movie sooner than the 28th of December. I think it would make more sense to have it released in the earlier part of December when most people are buying or asking for Christmas (assuming you celebrate the holiday season) presents or one of the surrounding holidays. From Viz's stand point releasing another movie during the holiday season would mean profits for them. So from an econmic stand an earlier release would be better. You're a Sesshomaru/Kagura fan too? Well, figures since you seem so intelligent and everything. I;m one too. The Rin pairing kind of creeps me out. I mean Sesshomaru might be evil, but that doesn't make him a pediphile right? Him and Kagura just seems better. Much better. And besides, they're closer in age and stuff.
La Blue Girl Bible Black
Keh, La Blue Girl and Bible Black. I've seen the former but not the later...although my husband managed to find a copy of Bible Black from a friend of his in Iraq so I know what it's about. You forgot to mention Ogenki Clinic and New Angel-riiight. Too bad this guy doesn't seem to have much in the way of a sense of humor. Seriously though, I have to go with what Sciros said earlier up there and what I stated in my first post. Christian centered anime really doesn't exist seein that Japan is not exactly the site of Judeo-Christian strongholds. Yes there are a few anime (SailorMoon keeps popping in my head with scenes from the 1st, 2nd 3rd, and 4th seasons ) Showed either church scenes or western style weddings, but nothing involving actualy Christian themes. Sure some characters may attend Catholic Schools (Hino Rei from SailorMoon who practices as a Shinto priestess) but that doesn't make them Christian. You've probably got to go more along the lines of family oriented (although not Pokemon with some Religious groups because of the whole evolution or SailorMoon and Fushigi Yugi because of magic and quite possibly not even InuYasha because of all the demons) You may be able to watch Trigun becuase Vash tries so hard not to be violent, but that's the best I can offer since it doesn't have much violence no evolution and no magic.

Anime Dating Anime Characters: Would You?
ChibiHorsewoman replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in Otaku Central
I don't think I could date an anime character, comic character, or any fictional drawing. Sure, it'd be cool for a while, but after I got some paper cuts in a few embarassing places, things would get weird.[/color']
Not to mention all those little peices of glass making you rather uncomfortable from the cells that the character was drawn on. Oh and having to explain to your friends and family members why you have a life sized cut out of Mihoshi that you carry around when you go to family functions or the movies. But yeah, it's hypothetical. After all I couldn't even date a three dimensional person in real life...well, I could but you know, morals and everything.
