I like stand up comedians too. Of course I'm one of those easily amused peopel so one of my favorites is Jeff Foxworthy with the whole 'You might be a red neck if... skit. I liked watching Last Comic Standing both seasons of it so far, but I dissagree with some of the voting and judges decisions. For example I didn't think that most of the people they got from San Fransisco or LA (I forgot which city in California they got the majority of people from) were all that funny so I think they wasted their time getting most of the people from that area since there were much funnier people in more of the other cities. I also thought that Ant was much funnier than the guy (dammit if I can't think of his name right now) that beat him in the face off. And I don't think teh guy who won was all that funny either. The first season had much better comedians in my opinion. I loved Dat Phan and Ralphie Mae. George Carlin is another good comedian. I have a few that I like, but I can't thik of them all off the top of my head. Besides it's late so give me a break.

Summer is slowly fading into fall and many of us are either back in school or getting ready to go back to school in the near future. However, before we all pack up our bathing suits and bid a fond farewell to freedom (unless of course you're one of us poor adult OBers who goes to work instead of school and doesn't actually get a summer vacation) would you care to share some summer memories? I don't have any interesting ones this year because I didn't go anywhere. My best one is from my birthday last month. I got to spend nearly a whole day with my best friend. Just my best friend, no baby, no boyfriend just Becky and me. We hadn't done that since before I moved to Texas so that in itsself was very memorable. We went to Spencerport Canal days then out for lunch. Then we drove around aimlessly stopping at a few garage sales and finally went and played miniature golf. I won! At least I think I won, we stopped keeping score after the second hole so there was really no score so we don't actually know who won. Yeah, it was pretty boring for most people, but since neither of us really get to spend regular girl time together anymore it was one of the best days I'd had with my best friend since coming back to New York. Next year will involve all four our kids (meaning our daughters her boyfriend and my husband) so that day was pretty memorable for me. Well I shared mine, what about everyone else?

I have an opinion on health care. It's near impossible to get any in most entry level jobs. Infact if you have a part time job, El help you becuase there's no friggin' way you're getting health care. My brother has no health care at the moment because neither of his two jobs (one is full time, but since he's not a manager he's not eligible) offer health care benefits to their employees unless they meet certain requirements. So he better hope he doesn't get into a car accident or get some really serious illness because he'll be paying it off until he's 100 or so. In New York State they have something called Child Health plus from Prefered care so low income families can afford health care for their children. While I don't like how Pataki has been running the whole government in New York (we haven't passed a state budget on time in 20 years and school children get to suffer because of politics :flaming: ) But I do think that the idea of offering low cost health care for low income families is a good idea. My best friend uses that for her daughter since neither she nor her boyfriend get health care benefits through their jobs. You get really good health care in government jobs (ie the Military) my theory on that is that the government feels that they deserve the best and know that they don't pay enlisted military personel enough to legitimize them paying for anything. Heck, the military's health care plan is one of the few that actually covers birth control . However they don't cover contacts or glasses where's the logic in that? I think that the government should try a bit harder to make health care plans more affordable so that small businesses and companies that employ part time workers are able to offer plans to their employees. Of course, I also think that all insurance companies that have health care should cover birth control if they cover male performance drugs. Well, there's my opinion. I know it's not all that well thought out, but hell, at least I tried, right?

I'm afraid mine aren't nearly as good as any of yours...give me a month and I'll have a real good one. Maybe even one involving a C-section. So far my best one is I was on this medication back when I was nine or ten. The stuff was supposed to be kind of rough on your heart so every two weeks I had to go in for some thing where they stuck suction cups to my chest and monitor the rythm. Well, the technition who was doing the test on me this one time didn't do it right, but he didn't know it. So after the first time he ripped the suction cups off of my chest and I had these red spots on me. Then I had to go back and have it done all over again and the technition slapped the stuff back on my chest and after the test was done correctly he ripped them off again. I looked like a dalmation Yeah I know, not bloody and gory, but hey, prior to next month the closest I've come to stitches was when I was 3 and stepped on a peice of broken glass. The ER guy only gave me a buttefly bandadge. Actually, I think I have a slightly better one than the above two stories. Back after christmas in 2000 my now mother-in-law had a grand maul seizure. That was some scary stuff...but not the whole story. My husband and his battle buddy were up here on Christmas Exodus (the military has strange names for things) well, we were all in ER and Kyle (Lincoln's BB) starts coughing real bad so someone from emergancy decided to check both of them. Turns out that they both had broncitis.

I would say my husband's except that we mailed it to him last month, so it's now in his possesion in Iraq. I think it's a RCA something or other. It's a nice inexpensive one because even though it doesn't come with much memory, you can buy more memory for it. Which makes it better than some of the more expensive MP3 players on the market. I'm not sure what else to add except that my husband likes it becuase of the wrist strap so he can listen to music while he runs. Does that help?

Anime Dating Anime Characters: Would You?
ChibiHorsewoman replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in Otaku Central
I doubt anyone has heard of this one yet, but Michael from Model by Kim Soo Young. ( I think I got the name right) For one thing Michael is too feminine looking for my tastes. Maybe some girls go for that, but not me. I like guys who look like guys. Another is his clothing. He dresses a bit too goth for me and sometimes I think he's a few steps away from Queer Eye intervention. His nails are too long for a normal guy. He's way too vain. I think he enjoys the fact that the whole myth about vampires not being able to look in the mirror and see thier reflection is just a myth. Oh yeah that's right, he's a vampire, a member of the undead. Unlike me, and I really don't relish the fact that someone might want to use me to keep up their good looks...or as a midnight snack . That said I really couldn't be in a relationship with Michael, unless he let me borrow his stuff for halloween. -
1. What were your favourite toys (if you had any)? I loved my Rainbow Bright dolls when I was really young. I had them beat up on my Barbies. I also had some Jem dolls...I think I used one of them as Ken's mom since I thought that kids had to be shorter than their parents oh and She ra. Then there was my Little Tykes Kitchen. Barbie casserole anyone? I also liked to play with my brother's GI Joes adn TMNT. Them the barbies and who ever else I could find were always very useful. 2. What did you think of the toys then? Fun. That's the biggest thing for me. I always mananged to think up something to do to or with the stuff I had. Even my little people. I can't wait to play with my kids and their toys now. :) 3. What do you think of the toys now? Well, they don't make Jem anymore, but I think she definately had it one up on Barbie since she was an international musician and a fashion designer along with running some kind of half way house and having a split personality. She managed to keep it all together while battling a rival band. Let's see barbie do that. She ra kicked butt because she was a female super hero way before SailorMoon. I wish they had some more toys that I used to play with ...okay so they're bringing rainbow bright back, but I want She'ra and Jem. 4. What do you think of the stereotypes that some toys seem to encourage? Even wiith all the changes in Barbie I still think it sends the message that no matter what girls are still supposed to be pretty and only care about thier clothes and need a boy to go along with all their girl friends. And that ther's still a certain weight. I mean, you do know that Barbie was designed after a German Sex toy? SOme people might say something about the Little Tykes Kitchen, but my brother used it too. And some of my friends had younger brothers who used their kitchens as well. so that stereotype doesn't seem to work with me. Especially since my husband is more likely to be in the kitchen than I am. so not all those stereotypes really fly with me.

Well, here's an interesting update on my grandma, she had a stroke last Friday and lost movement in her right side and couldn't talk for a few days. (if only it had lasted longer) In someways I guess I feel a bit bad for not actually going to lunch with her, but I know she never has anything to do with me or my brother unless she wants to insult us. And she really does hate my mom she's just too damn hypocritical to really admit it. I know it's kind of wrong to say so, but I really wish she hadn't been able to talk, but my mom says that maybe now that she's not as independant she might get more frustrated and maybe let her true feelings out. So everyone can know that she hates my mom for not being a dutiful submissive Christian wife like her daughters who are all semi stepford wives who can't really think for themselves with the exception of my Aunt Mary. My dad;s kind of agitated with my mom because she won't go up to the hospital with him every day and sit by her and tell her how much they hope she gets better. I mean, I know my mom does hope she gets better, but she's not going to moon over her. Well, that's all from me, just a quick update on everything. More wonderfrul stress and I still have to find a peditrician and make an appointment for a hospital tour.
And you're quite right Chibi. You beat us...finally.Took you long enough :p!
The point is we beat you...I guess. MAybe the point is that nobody drowned. I was teasing my brother's friend Will because his family is originally from Romania (as in his parents speak mostly Romanian and were born in Romania) I told him that the only reason the Romanians do so well in Gymnastics is because they have bad gas. (trust me, if you knew Will you'd say that too) and i told him that they couldn't have any Romanian swimmers because that would give them an unfair advantage. Will was like 'Yeah and we'd win too, because we're good at everything.' Well, tonight there was a Romanian swimmer in one of the races. So I had to tell Will about it, and mention that he lost becuase he didn't eat his gassy romanian food. Okay, back on topic I finally got to watch the equestrian events Wednesday, but it was the last part of the 3 day and show jumping, which I don't find that interesting. but I watched anyway. THere was a guy on there from Ireland I loved the name of his horse it was : Drunken Disorderly. Too bad they got about 16 faults.
Try faking a seizure, then. It'd be even better if you blamed it on the school food. As I recall, school cafeteria food was never the most healthy, anyway. I think it'd make perfect sense for a student to have a violent physical reaction after ingesting a cheeseburger, tater-rock, or lukewarm/cold french fries. I'm telling you, man, fake a seizure. It worked for me.
I can remember at least one person from every grade every quarter barfing in the cafeteria from Kindergarten up to my senior year of High School they never changed their food. Dammit. When I was in elementary school we never brought lunchm since it was included in the tuition, but for some off the wall reason that stopped in Middle School. You either bought lunch or brought it. And by then it wasn't too bad...probably because we had to buy it. The Academy had some good Pizza logs they were actually hot too. I don't go to school right now, but most of the colleges around here are starting next week. The school I went to starts the beginning of September (we got out the middle of the second week in June) and my cousin's school starts up on September 9th. I think he's going back to 7th grade because he failed a class in Summer school (he failed all his subjects in the school year) My friend's daughter started 1st grade this week. I don't know why, but the southern schools have a different school year than the northern ones. Go figure.

Does Experimentation make you Bi or Gay?
ChibiHorsewoman replied to k9-Girl's topic in General Discussion
The only genetic trait that one inherits upon conception that deals with sexual orientation is a penis, vagina, and the ticking time bomb called adolescence[/i'].
That can be debated. Every hear of hermaphrodites? There are babies born with both male and female parts (if you will). I'm one of those straight people who's of the opinion that you're born that way. Argue with me if you must. I also don't think therapy helps to change a person's sexual orientation. Al lyou get is a really angry person.
As far as I'm concerned, experimentation isn't something I would say is morally right. I'm with Boba Fett on this issue.. too many people today are *******.To say that it is natural to screw a member of the same gender is like saying it's natural to screw a hole in a tree. People's conception of sex is turning into an idea that it just "occurs" and people have no choice where they put their dicks today. That's an awfully sad thought.
As for natural...well, it's not really natural for humans to live in houses, drive cars or tell someone to go **** themselves when they don't agree with something someone else said, but we do it anyway. So, maybe we should stop doing that because it isn't natural. Hell, it really isn't natural to stay married to one person for the rest of your life so maybe all of society should just do like Britney and J-lo. I think normal is just in someone's perception of what is deemed normal. That doesn't mean that you have to accept it, but you shouldn't try to change someone to suit your ideals. Final note: I definately have to agree with TN about the whole sex thing. You aren't suddenly gay because you slept with another guy or another girl. Just like you aren't automatically a director because you video taped your sister's birthday and you aren't suddenly a race car driver because you tore down a back road at 110mph. And it's not like homosexuals go out and have sex with everyone they see, just like heterosexuals don't go around sleeping with everyone they see. There are such things as standards. -
Aussie Aussie Aussie! Oi! Oi! Oi!
Yeah, we beat your butts (finally) in the relay, but like you said, it was close...and at least it wasn't Canada. I felt so bad for that one girl on the Chinese gymnastics during the uneven bars. She was doing pretty good until the dismount when she fell on her face. That had to suck pretty bad.

Anime What Animes Had the Most Impact in America?
ChibiHorsewoman replied to EVA Unit 100's topic in Otaku Central
I always thought that SailorMoon (as half backed as the dub was) Dragon Ball Z and Pokemon (as damn frightening as it is) and even in lower amounts Gundam Wing had some large following in the US. At least where I live. For a while in the years from 98-2002 I couldn't go anywhere without finding productsl from those anime. Hot Topic Spencers Media Play and even JC Penny had products from the anime. I actually bought a Gundam Wing T-shirt from JC Penny. And I had no problem buying manga at Hot Topic until mid 2002 I don't think that's a really good example since now that trend has faded a bit. I think Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away are very good examples of how anime is slowly becoming more mainstream in America. and to a lesser extent the Yu-Gi-Oh movie and repeated rumor of the InuYasha movie being released in theaters instead of just on DVD. But what we have to remember is that this is America, where most cartoons are still for kids no matter what the strange guy who's looking at your chest in Empire Comics because you're one of only two girls not related to him that he's seen outside of RIT tries to tell you. (Gods, i have to stop going out in public!) Anime is never really going to have the same popularity here that it does in the countries it comes from. although a bit more publicity wouldn't hurt to bring the interest up a bit. -
I just remembered this commercial I saw last year in Texas. I don't think anyone else has seen it tho unless you had the unfortunate luck to be in Texas. Anyway... this is a commercial for Blue Bell Ice Cream which is only avaiable in Texas. The opening shot is a scene of the White House and I guess George W. called and ordered some Blue Bell Ice Cream from Texas, and when it comes the secret service person brings it in then leaves quickly. Well, I would have done the same thing because the next thing you know George opens his carton of ice cream and it's all gone. I think I may have felt sorry for the president in that commercial because his ice cream was stolen. :bawl: After it was sent half way across the country! Oh and has anyone seen that new Corvette commercial where the kid is driving this candy apple red vette? There's this notice at the bottom of the screen in the opening that says: Dreams are nice, but don't drive with out a liscence and obey all traffic laws Yeah, like someone is really going to let their kid drive their corvette. hell, I wouldn't even let my husband drive my corvertte if I had one. The Dairy Queen commercial kind of makes me not want to eat anything let alone want to have a brownie batter sundae. And does anyone besides me want to slap the guy for not checking to make sure that the mixer was unplugged before he stuck it in his mouth? Idiot!
Your governor is George Pataki...
You're right, he is, but I think Hilary would do a better job of being govenor than Wacky Pataki. We haven't passed a budget on time in 20 years now and the school districts are suffering. I figured that a bit of wishful thinking would help things along for the next election. But I have an excuse for why I can't remember the govenor of New York. All I remember is voting in the November 2000 election then I moved to Texas in 2002. I only got back to New York in November 2003. There's three years that are a complete blurr. That and it was 11: something, I'm lucky I can have soem complete sentances at this time and remember that Hilary Clinton is in something in New York (she's a senator, right?) Oiy, now I have to go listen to CNN or something.
We've already been together for over four months, so it's definitely not some passing phase.[/SIZE']
Whoa, 4 whole months? When's the wedding? Sorry, I couldn't resist that. I've been married to my husband for almost 2 years and we've been together for almost 4 years. So in my opinion, anything less than a year is a passing thing. I know that the going rate of a teenage virgin is getting lower by the day, but just because all your friends seem to be doing it doesn't mean you should. Hell, my best friend never even kissed a guy until she was 20 and then lost her virginity at 22. Of course, a year later she got pregnant sleeping with her now boyfriend for the first time. So maybe you should let that be a lesson that you can get pregnant on your first time. Or in your case, you can get someone pregnant on your first time. Yes, I know I said in my first reply that nobody can really tell you when you're ready to have sex just as long as you use protection, but that doesn't mean that you should go ahead and get it on just because you've hit puberty. You have to remember that for every action there is an equal reaction...kind of like physics. Besides, condoms break and oral contraceptives aren't 100% effective. Not to mention that if your girlfriend is the same age as you I doubt her parents are going to be all that thrilled to take her to Planned Parenthood for some Ortho-Tricycline. (Not that my mom was any more thrilled to do the same for me when I was 19). Bottom line, you're fourteen you can't even get a part time job at your age let alone a decent paying full time job. Sex can cause babies, babies cost money. Babies also cause sleep deprivation and stress. You've only been in a relationship for 4 months and you think it's going to last for a while. Wait another five months and then think-do I still want to be with this person for another nine months. Or just wait two years, I think sixteen is near the going rate for viginity loss among boys.
-
It doesn't really affect me at all that the govenor of New Jersey resigned. I live in New York, we have Hilary Clinton as our govenor...much scarier than Arnorld. It does bother me that he had an affair. I could care less who he was sleeping with and I don't know why he decided to broadcast the fact that he cheated on his wife with a guy. But still the fact that he had the affair was pretty bad. I kind of feel sorry for his wife. I mean how would you like to be the woman who finds out that your husband is cheating on you with a man? To me that's worse than a guy cheating on me with another woman. At least if that was the case you wouldn't wonder that if you were so bad in bed you had him interested in men. That's got to be pretty sucky on her part.
-
Well, seeing that stalking is a felony in New York State I would never actually admit to stalking a person. Oh no, I'd just use the excuse that I saw on a t-shirt about their house just being a very nice place to visit. I really wouldn't want to stalk anyone, I've had a stalker before, it's not fun. You have to go call the police and fill out a restraining order and hope the person listens. I really wouldn't want it done to me again so why would I do it to someone else? So, I'm definately going with KOTR here. Anyone stalks me, I'm sending out my secret army of emu ninjas. Which, coincidentally isn't all that secret anymore since I just mentioned it.
-
When you're ready you just know. I guess. I don't know. How the hell am I supposed to be able to tell someone when they're ready? I waited until I was 19 and married the only guy I care to say I slept with.(hey process of elimination you know?) I think part of it has to do with being scarred by a woman who gave birth to me, but I never met. excuse me, I need to go see a shrink. I think you should probably think over the fact that even if you don't intend on staying with the person for an extended period of time or even have any feelings for the person other than sex there are still emotions involved. Even if you're able to be completely emotionless with the situation theotehr person may not be able to be as easily detatched. Then you have this big thing about the person going psycho because they thought they were more to you than a **** buddy. Trust me, i know a guy it happened to. Either way it's not up for other people to decide, just promise that you'll use two types of protection and we'll be okay....that's what I plan on telling my kids.
-
I was watching the opening ceromonies as well, it confused me a bit because there would be a K then an I L U then another K. Hey, I'm old and I get confused easily. The only sport I really care anything about is the equestrian events. I don't care who wins, I just like to see these athletes working in intense conditions with their mounts. It's very inspiring. This year there's a guy from my area on the US Olympic team. Okay in some ways I'm also looking forward to the mens swimming and diving, but for very different reasons than the equestrian events. Those are some of the few guys that should always be allowed to wear speedos.
three words... FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS It's way better than limiting yourself to just one person. And at your age, experimentation and practice is more important than commitment. Make the rest of your life worth living and don't sell yourself short so early in the game.
Okay, I know she's not talking about whether or not she should break an engagement and while I have no problem with sex ...I don't think it's very responsible to go and suggest to a 14 year old that she go and sleep around because she shouldn't sell herself short at such a young age. My birth mother was pregnant at such a young age. People get STDs at such a young age, Try to get an education first and then go for the booty, it's quality not quantity that's important. I think your outlook on this whole thing is very uninformed and immature. I doubt that you've actualy experianced any real hardships in such relationships involving sex. Yes there are some people who will sleep with anything with a pulse and don't care who they hurt in the process or what the outcome is as long as there's a slight chance of self gratification, but there are also people who think that sex is just as important as the relationship that may go with it. I really could care less what she or anyone else does in the long run, but people shouldn't try to encourage others in reckless behavior just because they partake in it themselves.

Does Experimentation make you Bi or Gay?
ChibiHorsewoman replied to k9-Girl's topic in General Discussion
My mom just shakes her head and says I am "Just confused" when she use to find me with a girlfriend making out, lol. I honestly don't think my parents care what I am as long as I end up with a guy and make babies, tee-hee. Which might be the case seeing as 98% of all physically attractive bi or homo females are insane or fake. Experimentation is fun, but I often found myself more satisfied with males as the penis is a very very wonderful thing. And trust me people, threesomes... they're horrifically overrated, don't buy into the hype, just be content with the one on one experience... Every threesome inevitably becomes a twosome with one very angry person on the sidelines. Some more advice... Sex underwater, not fun, eh, well just let me put it this way, a woman's lubrication is water solluable, think about it people... And Anal Sex? I was never dumb enough to even try that.
Girl, three very important words for you: Too much information -
Actually, hitting her in the head with something would probably increase the likelihood that she'd go out with you, cranial trauma does wonders for lapses in judgment.
I hope you weren't saying that to make him feel better. True it would increase his chances, but what if her friends find out that he bonkied her in the head on purpose and tell her? I've honestly never had a good relationship foprm from a lapse of judgement which is why I try not to meet guys in bars.
-
I disagree. Girls suck.
I definately have to agree with Wrist Cutter. Albeit for different reasons. and Mitch, I too would like to wish you and Cynthia good luck, just don't bite her too hard.
-
The sky may fall, but I'm going to go with what K-9 said above. Just as long as the beginning of your conversation doesn't have anything to do with accidentally on purpose hitting her in the head with a basketball in order to get her attention everything should be just fine. Actually, the fact that you have something in common is good enough for an ice-breaker you can only move up from there right? And hey if she says she's not interested all you lost is a few minutes of your life, but you gained some experiance in talking to someone you're attracted to. Basically it's a win win situation.
