1. People who try to start arguments on message boards get on my nerves too. I think that's why they made up that quote about how fighting on the internet is like being in the Special Olympics. When someone's lost, and they know they're lost and they don't stop and ask for directions.-Hey, with the price of gas going up I don't think it's going to kill you to stop at the nearest Diamond Shamrock to find out how to get from the little dot on the map of Texas back to the road in College Station where you were supposed to make the turn back onto 190. Slow internet connections-Who isn't annoyed by that? Especially when the stupid connection keeps going down. It's enough to make you want to throw your modem out the window. Or write to the government about how maybe they should cut down on the war spending and try to spend money getting better Internet connections for their soldiers Green Beans-Especially the canned ones. They smell funny and taste awful. I usually feed them to my dogs
 2. One thing I'd really love to happen for my anime wish is I want to be able to go through into the settings of different anime. Think about the fun you could have. First I'd jump into InuYasha and start up a psychitrist office then insist that both InuYasha and Sesshomaru come for a few sessions to discuss sibling rivalry. I'd have to make them check all weapons at the door and force Sesshy to sign a contract swearing that he won't use his poison talons, his energy whip thing, or his morph into a giant dog powers while he's in the building or atleast 500yards from it. Likewise, InuYasha couldn't use his Claws of blood or any other lovely thing he does. Then I'd make them talk about their issues with eachother. Why do they hate eahother? For all we know it could be about InuYasha chewing up a coloring book of Sesshomaru's or Sesshomaru stole InuYasha's Teddy bear and then it just continued to escelate. The downside of that would be that after they sort out all their differences those two may go about some kind of demented Brady Bunch family ties and just make the whole series go to hell. WHo in their right mind wants a nice peaceful happy Sesshomaru? I don't know what damamge I'd do after fixing that family feude. Maybe I'd go in search of Naraku and try to find out what unhappy events in his childhood caused him to go down the path of evil. Hmm, that could be fun too. I'd love to be able to make Naraku cry.
 3. I can definately understand what Dagger's saying. Too many times the women of anime get these really off or non existant personalities. What gets me is the ones who act all tough, but still go looking for a boyfriend all the time (ie Kino Makoto of SailorMoon and Tendo Akane from Ranma1/2) I think Tsukino Usagi from Sailor Moon is a very good example of a leading lady. Although you may not notice it if you focus completely on the dub and the first season. The reason I think she's a strong individual is because she's pretty much willing to die for her friends and in order to protect everyone. Yes, she's a cry baby, but she has a very strong sense of loyalty towards everyone even Mamo dork. In the five seasons of the show Usagi grows and matures from a whiny cry baby who eats way too much and sobs at the drop of a hat to a mature young woman willing to fight without thinking of the consequences. After seeing her growth, especially in the manga I figured I could forgive her flakyness in the first two seasons.
 4.
Say.. since when does Islam get categorized in the same category as Satanism?
When you discuss it with my paternal grandmother, that's when. I think what was meant by the grouping was that many people don't know much about Islam so they automatically group it together with other non mainstream religions. It's sad, but true that peopel suddenly decide to be fearful of things they don't know anything about. I could go on to explain that Satanism isn't about worshipping Satan, but I don't think that's really necessary.
 5.
Speaking of the subjects of racism and ignorance, I was reminded of something. After 9/11, I had heard from family in other parts of the country that racism and race profiling was rampant, and I'd heard the stuff on the news, but none of it was in the rural Pennsylvania area where we lived thank goodness because we'd been there for such a long time (not to mention we were related to most of them... try tracing a rural valley grove of family trees and you'll know what I mean). But, here in the NY / NJ area it was completely different: My uncle told me that his car and work vans (he does construction / contracting) were repeatedly searched so many times he lost count. (yeah, they're really going to try something dangerous with building materials used for making Dunkin Donuts... come on.) At the worst point, he said that authorities were quite literaly picking up hundreds of people and hauling to prison just for looking Middle Eastern, right off the street! Keep in mind that there more than alien immigrants or hapless tourists, they also picked up American citizens[/I'] and held them without pressing charges, with holding access to lawyers, or even telling some of their families that they were being held. For months. That means that in the eyes of the law, it could very well have been any one of you guys (or women) who were being carted away who are residents of the US. Think really hard about that for a second... One of my uncles was deported, and the other, a father of 5 kids, all of them citizens, with an american wife (who happened to hail from one of the Carolinas or Virginias) was denied citizenship, even though he passed the test. He's thinking of packing up and leaving soon, to go back to Egypt... nobody should have to take any of that. Is that the kind of country that you would feel proud of saying you live in?
That's why the Patriot act really pisses me off. It pretty much denies American citizens due process simply because of their religion or ethnic background. Or even more fun being denied citizenship because you came from one of those 'Axis of evil' countries. Can you say: "Bush is an idiot"? I knew you could. But the American government is no stranger to doing stupid things. Right after Pearl Harbor millions of Japanese Americans, many who had been born in the US, were arrested and put into internment camps because of their ancestry. Of course a few years after the war ended the government appologized so we can only hope that this government will realize the stupidity of their ways a bit sooner than the last time.
 6.
I can tell you're jealous of our ability to pee anywhere.
Actually I'm more jealous of the fact that you can write your name in the snow with your pee and I can't. Damn you with your Y chromosome! I want to write my name in the snow too.
 7. I'd recommend buying used because in most states you have to pay collision on a car you're making payments on and insurance can be a real you know what to take care of. Of course, if you can afford new, more power to ya. I'd also consider taking any vehicle you look at to a mechanic you trust. Tehy can tell you how much the parts would cost if you have to replace them. (foriegn cars sometimes have parts that are harder to find than domestic cars and therefore are more expensive to replace.) Also , if you're buying used, the mechanic can tell you if there are any problems that the dealer may not tell you about. If buying a used car, pick up a Kelly blue book to see if you're getting a good deal on the car. My car was sticker priced at $11,564 the blue book vaule was around $14,879 (or so). When buying any car try to talk the guy down a bit either by getting a bit off your price or getting a bit extra. If you don't feel comfortable doing that, bring someone who does. We all use my dad because he can be pretty emberassing, but he brought my car's sticker price down to $11,464 and they were reluctant to do that. Also, if the sales person is unwilling to go down, don't hesitate to walk away. You could end up getting a better deal on that same car tomorrow. Other than that I really don't know what advice I can give you since I honestly don't know about much cars when it comes to speed and such. Saturns and Fords are pretty cheap and so are Hyundais. But that's all I can really help with. editWhile my brother and I were looking at cars, he almost got a 2004 Chevy Cavoleir (can't spell that) which was priced a bit over $10 grand. Of course, that was just a two door and I don't know what options it had.The only reason he didn't get one is becuase the insurance would have killed him. (Under 25 male with quite a few violations on his liscence)
 8.
I don't care if they just had a baby and are a woman, I'll kick any publically breastfeeding harlot in the throat. No one wants to see me piss in public, and breastfeeding is just another excretion out of another orifice. Not only does she have the audacity to leave the house where she belongs, but now she's parading about without a shirt like a streetwalker. You can't get any more rude or indecent than that.
Well, yeah, until you have the guy punching the breast feeding woman in the gut. Or even better...the guy who decided to go commando in a pair of those nylon running shorts and his junk just starts flying around outside of his shorts causing a pile up. Besides, guys go and pee in public all the time, haven't you looked on the side of the interstate after a game lets out and there's all these middle aged men peeing on the side of the road? I know I have. Now if you'll excuse me, i have some excretion out of another oriface to mop up.
 9. Well, Briteny Spears is pretty cool. But uh, so is luke warm water. Seriously though: Gwen Stefani from No Doubt. She's just got a very powerful set of lungs. I loved her voice in Bathwater. It was so, I don't know how to put it, breath taking maybe? Stevie Nicks. My husband would refuse to converse with me if I didn't mention her. Her voice is very sensual and classic. She's managed to survive quite a while. A few of my favoirtes from her are: Leather and Lace, Rhianna, and Landslide The Dixie Chicks. Call me unAmerican for this one, but I don't care. They have one of the best vocalists in country music. Best songs: Am I the only one, Good Bye Earl, Travelin' Soldier, Top of the World, and Mississippi. Solo artists: Julie Roberts: She's a new country singer her first single is I don't want to break down here from her self titled album. One of these days, I'll buy it. Gretchen Wilson. She's been mentioned once already, but I can't resist. I love how she draws out the ho in her song Homewrecker. And of course, Redneck Woman is a song I can identify with (even if I did grow up in the burbs and shop at Victoria's secret.) Amy Dalley (notice a trend yet? Well, you will) I haven't been able to find her CD yet, but Men don't change is one of her songs. The chorus is the best: Cupid works for the devil be suspicious if he cries Yeah, sex is always good. Oh but that don't make it right. Chocolate is a bandaid no matter what they say Shoes don't stretch. Men don't change Reba Mc Intyre: I saw her in concert along with Sara Evans and Martina McBride back in 2001 and loved every minute of it. A few of my favorite songs from her are: Forever Love (at the concert they had this big screen showing shots of guys who had just come back from wars and at the end they showed a picture of this guy with his hand on the Vietnam Vets memorial. That song made me cry) Survivor, The greatest man I never knew. (also very touching) and Fancy. I'd mention more, but my fingers are starting to cramp.
 10.
YOU give THEM permission? This whole thread reeks of communism.
I have to disagree, I think it's way too capitalistic! Damn you you capitalistic pigs! Okay. Actual discussion on the topic. Personally I wouldn't mind if I was allowed to go topless. Wearing a bra is uncomfortable enough as it is, but wearing one in a climate where the thermometer reads 114 degrees and the humidity is about 80% is soem kind of inhumane torture. Why do you think women burned so many bras in the late 60's and early 70's? Why should guys be the only ones allowed to go topless. I know I've seen quite a few men who I wish weren't allowed to go topless in the first place. Besides, the whole law against going topless doesn't stop women from breastfeeding in public. Why should non lactating women be discriminated against? The reason the US isn't so gung ho about the whole topless thing is because there still aren't many women who want to go topless badly enough. All through our lives we've been taught to be ashamed of our bodies thanks to a mainly judeo Christian society and society in general who tells us that our bodies aren't perfect unless you're a size 00 with porn star boobs. Oddly enough that's not the case on most nude beaches. They have some real studies of scary human bodies on those beaches. But that's what we want to think.
 11.
It's worth a shot but I honestly don't think the court system cares if Wiccans are persecuted. I know it shouldn't be like that but things don't always work as they do on paper.
The court system has no choice in the matter, they have to review the case because his civil rights were violated. Unless it's a state like what TN mentioned. Hell, they had no choice in Michigan when some girl was told to take of her pentagram necklace, but her classmates who were Christian were allowed to wear their crosses. You can't legally be discriminated against for religious beliefs unless you've been airing them extensively. And even then they can't really do much (if they could, I think I could get rid of one of my co-workers.) Unfortunately as unfair as it may sound when you practice a religion that isn't mainstream or even one that isn't understood in positive terms it's much better to just keep it under wraps. My husband gets crap all the time (well, he did stateside. In Iraq I don't think they have as much time) for being Wiccan, but in the Army they can't fire people and it would look questionable for someone to get a dishonorable discharge for their religious beliefs.
 12.
Because It wasn't my intention to inclued all[/i'] of science. I was specifically referring to the evolution-science that is dedicated solely to promoting atheism over God, there are a number of professing Christians in the science field, so including them in the argument seems silly.
Interestingly enough my highh school biology teacher was a devout Christian adn never once did he say that Evolution science was dedicated to promoting atheism over creationism and over religion in general. I think that's a funny way of looking at it.
Actually, according to the Bible, God made woman out of Adam's rib. Man didn't[/i'] come from woman.
If you want to get really techinial about that aspect of the Bible there's a theory that Eve wasn't the first woman. Every hear of Lilith? Her and Adam were created at the same time. But alas that part of Genisis was edited out. Bible aside, I don't see any men giving birth these days. If that was still the case that man didn't come from woman I think my husband would be over here stateside having the baby.
As for the flood, well, there are several artifacts such as the grand canyon that have fish fossils that can be attributed to a worldwide flood. I may edit this If i get mor time to explain that fully.
I went on a few guided tours of the Grand Canyon and every National Park Guide there has said that the Grand Canyon was created billions of years ago by the Colorado River rushing through it. Nobody ever mentioned a flood the three times I was there.
 13. The story sounds a bit out there, but if it's true you can sue your employer for religious discrimination. Firing someone because of their religious beliefs is violation of the civil liberties act (or something). Of course, I'm going by US laws I don't know about elsewhere. What I find pretty interesting is that your boss came out and said that he fired you because of your religious beliefs. Unless you work somewhere like a Chirstian Day Care service you cannot legally be fired for believing differently than everyone else. Even if it did offend your co-workers you can't be fired for something like that. I'd definately look into taking legal action
 14.
And CHW, my family is close to yours. Only it's not just the paternal grandma but the whole paternal family side except for my grandfather (he was a nice person whom I didn't have the chance to get to know really well since he died last year, oh well) But yeah, maybe the source of it all is my grandmother, she hates my mom for being a Christian and she has favorites when it comes to her children. (surely my dad isn't one of them) She totally manipulates the life and every decision her children should make.
I can sympathize with that. But my dad is her first son out of seven children, so if he told her to back off she would. She just doesn't like my mom becuase she doesn't think that my mom is a good example of a 'good Christian woman' because she doesn't defere to her husband (Who does? I know I don't) and when there was some tensions between my dad and my brother my mom wouldn't go along with what my dad wanted to do, which was kick my brother out of the house (we've alliviated that problem) My mom has strained relations with my dad's side of the family ranging from things like completely ignoring trying to have a baby shower for her when they brought me home from the hospital to always bad mouthing my brother. Yeah, he's not always doing bright things, but he's not a bad kid. But hey, as long as your maternal side of the family isn't too bad, there's no reason to run off completely.
 15.
I take it that there isn't a strong, positive muslim community where she lives that can prove otherwise, eh? Pity, if you think about it... if that was the case with the 6 point billion something number of muslims on the planet today, wouldn't you think there would be a whole lot less other people? (or, is it the case where thinking really doesn't come in to play?)
There's actually no real Muslim community around where she lives so she gets her information from what the people over in the middle east are doing. That information, as you know, is pretty out there and not a valid representation of Muslims as a whole. Do you think it would work if I told her that Islam is the fastest growing monotheistic religion yet the population hasn't diminished? Sadly it's really a case of where she only considers one side of a topic and only believes what she thinks is right. So in some ways it is a case where thinking doesn't come into play because she only lets herself think one idea and that's that any religion but hers is wrong. That comment coincidentally brings me to another thing that gets on my nerves, peopel who think what they believe is the only correct way to believe. This can range from something minor like an opinion on a movie to someone's religious beliefs. people who can't go the speed limit in decent driving conditions on the expressway I'm not asking for much, just go atleast 55 MPH when you drive on the regular highways in NYS and if the speed limit goes up to 65 MPH then by all means go 65. People who tailgate-My advice to anyone who has someone tailing them is to slow down. Yes, I know it sounds like doing the above. But most of these people are driving 20 to 30 miles over the speed limit in the first place and it won't kill them to slow it down a bit. And if they throw you the bird well...that's up to you what to do next. Having to pay $8.00 to watch a movie then sitting in the theater for 20 minutes watching commercials then 5 or 6 previews before the actual movie starts. Who isn't annoyed by that?
 16. There was a boy in my high school who reminded me a lot of Gurio Umino from SailorMoon. But only because he looked like a dork. He wasn't smart, he didn't get a girlfriend (even one like Naru) and he had a face full of zits. I think it was the glasses and the bad hair that made me think, hey, there's Umino's 3D counterpart. More or less though I think there are just some people who remind me of characteristics that anime characters have. Like my husband who reminds me of Hiiro Yui sometimes (sans the bad clothes) because he just gets so serious. Also, when he has hair he kind of looks like Hiiro as well except for the eyes. My best friend reminds me of Ms.Q from Ayashi no Ceres the way she drives. Which is pretty frightening considering the fact that her four month old daughter is usually in the car with her. Other than that I can't think of too many other people I've seen who remind me of anime characters. Except, maybe in Vegas, but you know what they say: What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.
 17. What things do people do? Or even types of people or things in general just get on your nerves and make you want to scream? My list: People who hold strong opinions about things they know nothing about: They open their mouths about a subject and all that comes out is stupidity. Or just one veiw on a subject and the veiw has been badly researched. Like my paternal grandmother who thinks that all Muslims think they need to kill people to get to heaven and that gay people can be reprogramed because she saw it on TBN. And the saddest part when she says this is that she's serious People who do things like show up late, or curse at you, but get angry if you do the same:-I could give a million examples of this in the military, but then I'd have the military after me. Jerry Falwell- Between protesting a person's funeral and then deciding that Tinky WInky is gay he just shows that he needs to get a life. Especially about the TinkyWinky thing. I'd think of more, but it's after two in the morning and I'm tired.
 18. I followed a Link on the half dead Board of Troublemakers which was about the strange things people put in this thread obout hentai anime Yoai, Yuri and just plain homosexual anime relationships which stemed from another board about Christian anime. (Which I looked at and found a bit hypocritical.) The version I landed in was V6 (like the group that sings Change the world) Then I started talking and haven't shut up yet. Okay, maybe I shut up for a few days, but it's not often.
 19. I could never date Mamoru from SailorMoon. The guy is just too much of a weirdo for me. I can't stand the way he dresses or how he talks down to Usagi. I'd definately have to burn that stupid olive green jacket of his, then call in the Fab 5 for reinforcements Then there's Koga from InuYasha Overly possesive and a bit ill mannered. You don't just go around grabbing up whichever girl you see simply because you can. And you don't go around insulting said girl's friends. That's just tasteless. There's two more down for me, a few more to go
 20.
IInterview with the Vampire Bed of Roses Windtalkers
Because of Windtalkers I want to say Nick Cage, but I don't think he was in the other two movies. I keep thinking Brad Pitt now. I don't know if that's right
 21. Any dream that makes me yell obscenities while I'm in that strange state of being half awake is memorable. I had one of those this morning. It involved this girl me and this daucshunde my parents owned when I was a baby. The girl was going to drown my dog I was really mad, and about to beat her up and I yelled "You B****!" I think it was illegible because my mom thought I had yelled you fish when she came into my room to find out what I was yelling about. I had this really weird dream a few months ago. I was in the hospital in the delivery room presumably after I had given birth. But I didn't remember having the baby. Then the nurse brought my baby in, but it was a boy and I knew I was having a girl. (I have ultra sound pictures to prove that) Not only that, but the baby looked about three months old. I said, that's not my baby, I had a girl. And my husband was asking me if I was sure. And I said, well, I don't know. Then I started crying. It was just really weird. Oddly enough that's my only pregnancy dream. I think I'm due for another one soon.
 22. I know the wonderful feeling of knowing your perfect family is skin deep. I found out when I was fifteen that my family wasn't all that they seemed. My wonderful paternal grandmother makes offhanded comments about everyone especially my brother and I since we're adopted (it's her fault because she didn't get my dad help when he had this high fever when he was younger and it made him sterile) She thinks my mom is a bad Christian and now she thinks that my husband will be an unfit father because he smokes and has both piercings and tattoos. Never mind that he's a wonderful person. But really, what are you going to do? You can't pick your family. Hell, you can't even pick your inlaws (well, you can, but then you don't end up with the person you decided that you loved). I suppose you could just walk off and be done with them, but how would that end up in the whole sceme of things? You lose a bunch of people you grew up with because of a few things. What if you suddenly decide one day that you want to get back in touch with them but it's too late. Then where are you? That's my $.02 put in for review.
 23. This sounds like a pretty good idea, but I may have to email a pic instead of linking. The only online pic I own is about three years old and on my hubby's website about LeVay's Satanic beliefs. I hope that didn't scare you too much. Maybe I could work on being nominated for being the most talkative? Even though part of me wants to be voted most likely to strangle someone if they cut the Hazardous duty pay in half at the end of December. I still think most talkative is closest to me. Because you can't get voted best dressed on a message board. Yes, vote me as most talkative and I may shut up for a few weeks!
 24. I know this occurance has a very low percentage of happening and I hardly mention it for fear of jinxing myself, but my biggest fear is that I'm going to get one of those calls. The kind of call they give military spouses to tell them that their husband or wife is dead. That's my biggest fear. My second biggest woul dbe that my daughter is going to be born with birth defects that will deminish her life span or that I'll just screw her up really bad
 25. MOre memorable moments Recently becoming Trigun11's evil twin thus being in an OB familiy :D That was pretty neat. But, if I'm Trigun11's evil twin does that make her my good twin? Finding out that some people have very strong opinions when it comes to their movies. I'm not going to mention any names, but I still think Blair Witch was crap. My one religious debate with Justin on AIM. It went over pretty well. Getting PMed about my reply in 'HArd To tell' These were good PMs . Finding that sarcasm doesn't carry well over a message board because the words don't look sarcastic. There are af ew more memories for me.
