4. Kayin followed the angel with his eyes narrowed and focused on his back. His hands clenched in his pockets as they headed down the halls. He gave a sidelong glance toward Akieen who was walking beside him. She could only mouth a "sorry" with an apologetic look on her face. Kayin closed his eyes with a soft sigh, trying to calm himself down. In all his years, this was his first run in with an angel. He was hoping that it wouldn't be such a gruff one, but at least the two weren't at each others' throats. For that much, Kayin was grateful. His eyes opened to see Gabriel staring over his shoulder at Kayin. "What?" Kayin said flatly as he locked eyes with Gabe's. "Nothing. Just making sure you haven't gotten lost," Gabe replied, looking forward again. Kayin's eyes narrowed slightly, having a suspicion that there was more to it than just that. "Bdee get'g eeeae haemg mooee bdoog eeeae naoollee paoot, noomgoong...?" (Why don't you just say what you really mean, bastard?) He tugged on his scarf, pulling it off and folding it up to hang over his shoulder. His skin was crawling enough in this place, he felt like his clothes weren't making him any more comfortable. His glance shifted to Akieen briefly before looking past her into a cracked door. He slowed down at the scent of another demon. He looked to see if Gabe was looking and went to the door when he wasn't. He pushed the door slowly open to see what looked like a child. He couldn't have been more than two feet high, but he had pointed ears and his skin was a hue of light blue. His hair was seafoam green and eyes were bright green. These eyes met Kayin who approached him carefully. "Oo'tsa teg maat ootegdan looba peemalk oot oosam... Eeeae'na boong daepoot gee, oonat'g eeeae?"(I've not seen another like myself in ages... You're part human too, aren't you?) Kayin asked, getting a nod from the boy. "You have a name?" the boy asked, Kayin, looking to his hair and then to his eyes. Kayin returned a brief smile. "I'm Kayin. And you are?" he asked, kneeling down. The boy smiled a little bit, showing his sharpened teeth. "I'm Lief. Nice to meet you, Kayin," Lief said, holding a hand out and Kayin shook it in response. Kayin sat down in front of him. "So do you live here?" "Of course the boy lives here... I saved him from a fate worse than death and now he won't leave me alone!" Gabe said, crossing his arms and Lief did nothing but give a huge grin. Gabriel shook his head. "What does he mean by that, Lief...?" Kayin asked, raising an eyebrow. "Just that my folks didn't want someone who looked human and no one else wanted me because I looked too demonic. So now I'm here so people don't chase me with pitchforks and stuff," Lief said as he started looking over Kayin and his swords. "Those are really cool looking, can I see 'em?" "Maybe when you're older, Lief..." "But I'm 25!" "...You're still a child compared to us, Lief," Gabe cut in. "At least he acts older than Akieen does," Kayin mumbled. "HEY!" Akieen growled, clenching her fists before crossing her arms and her cheeks puffing up. The other three got a bit of a laugh. "Not funny..." she grumbled. Kayin smiled before his eyes narrowed when Gabriel's hand rested on his shoulder. "Let's get moving on. Pit stop is over," he said sternly before heading back into the hall. "I'll come pay you a visit again once I get the chance, Lief," Kayin said to the young demon with a smile as he stood again. They exchanged waves as Kayin headed back into the hall as the three continued their walk.
5. As quickly as his attackers came, they were cut down with little remorse as Kayin slashed through them, using solely Raikoujin. These hellspawn, as they were, were nothing compared to the creatures from the abyss. His blade made quick work in single slashes as two more assailants came after him. However, it seemed as though there was no end to them. He nodded his two allies good luck as they went after the humans who were being evacuated. He hadn't had a chance to find out what was going on, but he had no intention of letting these vampires have their home taken over. He knew there were good beings of every kind and this clan in particular, he had come across in his past. He had an alliance to them whenever they needed their light work dealt with or at least warned. When the warning turned violent, Kayin ended the violence then and there. He was the only one who had to get his hands dirty and the pay was good and so was having a sense of camaraderie, even with vampires. But this time was more than he'd ever seen before. This time was going to be hell.   Kayin quickly whipped around and impaled one of the beasts through its open mouth as it lunged for him, pulling his blade toward him and slicing it's head open from the throat outward. He flicked the blood from his blade and began to move before his eyes darted back to the beast he thought he had fell and stabbed it through the top of its skull before it could latch its fangs on his leg. "The more resilient ones are coming... This could get troublesome..." his eyes shifted to dark as he heard one of the lycans burst into flame. He raised an eyebrow as he saw Dark had thrown the torch. Kay had to brace himself for the explosion that was to follow as Dark blasted a few more of the wolves. As Kayin recovered from the impact, he looked back to Dark with a raised eyebrow to the chocolate tasting souls comment. Guess mother had a taste for chocolate then... he thought to himself. His thoughts were severed as he felt two pairs of fangs glance off of his shoulders when he lowered his stance. His eyes widened slightly as he realized he almost didn't sense these wolves. His eyebrow twitched as they rushed him again and he slashed the two of them simultaneously as he had drawn Meidenkou out in his attack. "No more time for playing around I guess..."   "Holding up alright, my demon-blooded friend?" came from Darian as he slammed one of the werewolves heads into the wall, completely crushing its skull before tearing its heart out through its back. "I hadn't expected to have to actually fight alongside you like this."   "I'm holding up fine, thanks," Kayin said with a brief smirk. "Enjoying the workout." He turned as several more werewolves broke in through his peripheral and he sheathed Meidenkou before clenching his fist. He turned his stance sideways before swinging an opened hand toward the wolves and a bolt of lightning slammed into one, jumping to each of the others and leaving four werewolves on the floor; lifeless and singed. He flexed his knuckles as the sparks around his hand lessened. He lowered his hand and saw another set of wolves charge through the same way the last four he fell were, but they didn't give him nearly enough time to toss another bolt. He slashed through two of them and repelled the third, but the fourth managed to clamp its jaws down on Kayin's arm when he raised it to guard. He watched the wolf's teeth break on impact as he threw the beast from his, now, armored and clawed forearm. "I suppose it was a good try!" he shouted as he slashed through the first repelled wolf and then lunged his claw through the defanged wolf's chest, tearing its heart out and tossing it aside. He flung blood from both his blade and his arm in the same manner, shaking his head. "Guess the kid gloves come off..." he said as his other arm took on the same form.   Once again, he drew out Meidenkou from her sheath, looking to Dark and Darian. "Feels like there would be an end to these wretched beasts, but they're almost like a hydra. The more we kill, the more that come and they seem to be sending in their weaker soldiers first. We'll need to be able to coordinate if we start getting overwhelmed."

Hunter climbed out of his Knight with a sigh, looking up to the suit behind him. He shook his head, seeing the landslide's results behind the Rover. He pulled his goggles off, letting his hair fall loose and his hand clenched around them. His teeth clenched as he could see in his mind where the Drones had taken Bear away from them. Hunter's eyes narrowed as he looked to see his comrades who were injured. How could this happen? We got our asses kicked out there and we lost our only sense of direction in dealing with this Zero bullshit. I feel like such a failure...Goddamned Barons... his thoughts slowly came to a close as he came to realize just what they'd accomplished. Even with the sacrifice, all of the people on this Rover would be safe to get away from the Barons. It wasn't hopeless, it wasn't a failure, but it was still tragic. He exhaled, calming himself as he strapped his goggles back onto his forehead and his attention immediately went to his injured teammates.   He first went to check on Saph's status, pushing his way through the medical crew. She was pretty banged up, but it wasn't enough to be scared of as far as they could see, but chances are when she came to she'd make sure of it better than the medics they had here. He shook his head with a light smile upon seeing she would be alright. He went to catch up to Crimson to see how she was holding up after the stunt she pulled. Not exactly in horrible condition from what he could see but she'd probably be feeling that for a little bit. "Pretty quick thinking, Crim. The Dark matter for an escape route wasn't exactly the first thing that came to mind for it," he said with a chuckle.   Crimson gave a shrug. "I'm just glad it worked. Glad we made it out of there and completed the mission."   Hunter nodded. "Regardless, good job out there," he said, looking to see how Obsidian and Shu were holding up. Neither appeared to be injured from what he could see other than some scrapes from battling the Droves if anything. He exhaled, looking up to his Knight. Guess it's about time to get to work on that project while we have a bit of down time. Until Saph wakes up at least. Should be enough time to get started if nothing else.   "Don't overdo it, my friend. I still need you in condition for combat in case anything comes up," came from Vox.   Hunter replied with a nod and raising a thumb to the Green Knight's view before he headed in to get to work on the supply pylon blueprints and moving immediately into the design phase.     OOC: Figured I'd get a post in while I had a bit of down time to get us moving a bit.

The watchful eyes left him within moments however. His brown eyes returned to the path ahead of him. Guess they're just making sure I'm actually coming. I imagine this job must be pretty important. They usually leave me to my own devices, he thought as he looked up to see his destination. "I guess this is the place," he said, double checking the address he had written down. He crumpled up the piece of paper, stowing it in his coat pocket and grabbed hold of the key that was there with it. His eyes closed as his hand wrapped around the door knob. With a pause he turned it and pushed the door open. His eyes opened, narrowing somewhat as he let out a sigh, closing the door behind him. The sound of metal shifting under his coat was heard silently as he ascended the staircase to the floor he was to head to. He could sense that several others were already there, though he wasn't close enough to recognize any of them right off. As he reached the floor of the room and started down the hallway, Kay retrieved the key from his pocket. He took a pause and his eyes narrowed more so. "I had a feeling that was what I sensed downstairs..." Inside the room, Akieen was in the middle of a sentence when a faint scent hit her. Stop drawing attention to me, kid!" she said, sipping her coffee and having all but a peeking eye visible between her arm and the arm of the couch. "...****," she repeated to herself. "Didn't exactly expect to run into you again, particularly since I haven't been hired to hunt for you lately," Kayin said as he closed the door behind him and walked over to the couch, seeing Akieen's peering eye look up to him. "You look well enough, Akieen," he said, looking down over the collar of his coat. "I take it you must have already had an idea I was coming though," he said, glancing to the paperwork the human had on him. Then his attention shifted to the others. "I take it we'll all be working together then?" his gaze shifted to the other werewolf and he gave a nod and then to the Daemon: one type of creature he hadn't seen for ages. "A pleasure to meet you three. Kayin. Looking forward to assisting you," he glanced back to Akieen who was glancing away from him in hopes of not catching another look. He shook his head, picking up one of the coffees and unzipping his coat and loosening his scarf. "Well, Kayin you're welcome to my 'cooking' if you like," Dark said, gesturing to the burgers he had made. Kayin gave a faint smile and a nod. Name: Kayin Cloud Age: 571 but looks 25 Gender: Male Species: Half-Demon Human Appearance: Kayin Changed Appearance: Demonic Form Personality: Although Kayin is partial to his solitude that those who know what he is give him, Kayin is more than welcoming to company. His demonic nature only ever seems to emerge while he's in a fight and he seems human otherwise. Over the years he's seen enough discrimination that he's fairly accepting of others and fairly desensitized to less...reasonable types. Often Kay is driven by his desire to fight and has problems holding back when he finds one, but he's still working on his restraint at centuries of age. He hopes to be seen as reliable to others but it's difficult for others to want to be around him with the faint smell of sulfur about him. Weapons/fighting style: Dual katana (Raikoujin and Meidenkou), claws, and wings are Kayin's weapons of choice whether in human or demon form. Over the years, Kayin has had plenty of time to master the blade, and in that time he familiarized himself with every melee weapon, bladed or not, just in order to be able to use whatever he finds in combat. He also learned to use iaijutsu, ninjutsu(no ninja magic, but the actual fighting style) as well as jiu jitsu, tae kwon do, and muay thai before learning to use them together. However formal fighting styles have never suited him as well as street fighting when his state becomes more feral where anything or anyone nearby becomes a weapon. Also his demonic heritage allows him to use lightning and electricity at will with as much effort as it takes to throw a punch. History: Most of Kayin's life has been spent fighting in one sense or another. Being born a half-breed in the world of demons made him a prime target for torture and harassment. He refused to hide behind his mother no matter how bad it got though. All it was was further grounds for torment. As he got older, he learned to make his appearance more human so he could spend some of his life with his father who was something of a mercenary in his time. His father taught him how to live as a human until he died of old age. Once his father passed, he returned to seek out his mother who he found to reject his return. When he asked her why, her response was along the lines of having spent enough time raising him. With that said, Kayin became cold and distant after having his father being the only one who taught him any humanity. His mother just made him feel alone again. It was then that he started fighting a lot, mainly demons. Specifically the ones who tormented him as a youth. It wasn't for revenge, it wasn't for pride, but it was for him to become stronger. To become a man like his father but with inhuman strength. Once he was satisfied he returned to humanity and it was there he learned discipline and how to be self-sufficient. Centuries later, he found himself doing a similar job as his father and became a mercenary, wielding Raikoujin(his father's blade) and hunting threats to mankind and other beings who could not defend themselves. He had received one job that he would never forget though. He had received a call of a woman who was seducing and killing men and was given the OK to execute her if necessary. Unfortunately for Kayin, it was his own mother. As much as it pained him (emotionally and physically with the fight) he did his job he was hired for, taking his mother's sword known as Meidenkou which he learned she stole from his father when she attempted to do to him what she'd been doing to the humans in this day and age. Kayin carried on his father's legacy and his lessons, but also his mother's memories from the time she did show him some form of love. Even now he continues his life as a mercenary or a contractor as he is usually called, still doing the same work to keep a roof over his head and the forces of the present from pursuing him as a demon.

As all hell broke loose and Bear was lost in the struggle, a wild shout came from Hunter as he immediately engaged his chainguns. "You bastards are gonna pay for that! The old man may have had a stick up his ass but he was still one of our own!" he yelled letting loose a barrage of rounds on the smaller enemies below. He became immediately agitated as most of them seemed to just stack on each other to defend against the spray of bullets. "Cute... More pissed now..." he grumbled, stowing his chainguns back on his sides and pulling the unfolding launcher from his back. "Defend this... Friggin midget pieces of sh-" the sound of his launcher muffled his words over the communications as the warhead went flying toward the Droves who stacked on each other. As the explosive landed, it scattered the stacked Droves in multiple directions. "Okay it didn't take them out but that was entertaining at the very least..." "We have more pressing matters than out entertainment, Hunter..." Vox replied. "Like wh-" Hunter let out a string of curses as he felt the Rover's abrupt shift after Obsidian's brief warning to Crimson. "Geeze, man! The hell was that fo-oh...Baron pancakes...gotcha," Hunter said, blinking. He refocused his attention on the fight, loading another grenade into the launcher. "Let's see how these shields handle a little corrosion..." he said before firing another round, causing the Droves to stack up again. On impact the acid round exploded, covering anything in front of it's trajectory in the corrosive fluid. Many of the Droves fell that were at the impact site while many others found their attached shields and even arms corroding fast. "Guess they didn't care for that trick...and since they're open..." Hunter stowed his launcher and drew his rifle from his side, opening fire on the vulnerable Droves only to find his bullets shielded by other surrounding droves. "How am I supposed to get an opening on these guys up here?" "With patience, Hunter," came from Crimson as she sniped several of the newly unshielded Droves. "Right...gotta capitalize on openings and make openings everyone else..." Hunter said, calming himself. "We can do this..." he said stowing his rifle. He drew his chainguns again and each of his missile pods opened. "Vox, time to get serious..." "Ready when you are, partner..."

Hunter grumbled...a lot. "How the heck am I supposed to test out our new tactics if we have to be stuck in a single spot, Vox?" he said as he started running diagnostics over the Green Knight. "I mean, yeah you're designed for that, but this fuckin' sucks..." he muttered, typing on a virtual screen. "Hunter, I'd like to be the first to say that you're overreacting...as a friend," Vox replied with a chuckle. "Look, I may be overreacting but I take pride in my designs. For me not to see them in action is like a punch in the gut, man. You've gotta understand," Hunter replied, looking over their supplies and rounds. "On top of which, I hate being in one place for too long. Makes me really uncomfortable... Especially when you spend a great chunk of your life constantly on the move..." Hunter let out a sigh as he climbed up into the cockpit, taking a seat on the floor of it. "Hunter!" a voice called from below, causing Hunter to borderline growl as he looked down below to see Bear calling up at him. "I can see you're about ready to get going. Good to see it." "Yeah. Ready to go and sit on my duff on top of a moving target..." Hunter mumbled. "Drop the attitude, Hunter. If it helps, I'm sure you'll be glad to have the Rover supplying you with a constant flow of rounds for your weapons," Bear replied as he started to walk off to check the other Knights' status. Hunter fell silent before a grin spread wide across his face. "Well, this sitting duck thing has its perks after all.." he said with a chuckle. "And here you got all worked up over nothing, Hunter. Now don't you feel silly for getting so upset?" "The hell with that, Vox. I'm just happy that I'm going to be able to lay down some heavy support fire!" Hunter laughed. "Let's get suited up and get rolling ASAP. I'm ready to blast these Barons into nothing," he said with a smirk. "It'll be nice to have some extra am...mo..." He paused and stared blankly before his eyes seemed to start focusing. "You alright in there Hu-" "Supply pylon!" Hunter said suddenly, cutting Vox off. "I'm going to have to start working on something when we get back from the battle. It'll be something to help everybody out," he said, smiling brightly. "This is gonna be awesome..." Hunter stood up, leaning out of the cockpit. We can definitely do this...

As Hunter departed from his partner when the group returned to the hangar, he could feel where he was hit by a few stray shots. That battle felt like forever being on the front line against the Barons. But to Hunter it was exhilarating to take back a little of what he lost by putting those Barons down. But now was a time to recover and resupply. As he was greeted by the technicians and medical staff, he had nothing to show. He did however glance back to his partner one last time. "We did damned good back there, Vox. We'll have to figure out what else you got in store for me before our next fight," he said, figuring he was talking to himself. "No worries my friend. I'm sure you'll get the chance to explore our destructive options sooner than later," came from seemingly nowhere. Hunter looked around, blinking. He glanced over his shoulder back at the Green Knight, smirking slightly and giving a nod. "Until next time, partner..." he said, looking forward to see the other pilots and Bear standing in front of him. "What is it now, man? Do we at least get a chance to rest?" he asked as he reached the others. "In time, Hunter," was his response and was all that could be gotten out as Saph pretty much ambushed him to check if he was injured. The both of them probably looked just as puzzled to Bear as to each other. "You have a 24 hour grace period, After that you have an escort mission," Bear said, infuriating poor Saph. "Geeze, old man. Hope you don't plan on running us into the ground already. We just started piloting these guys today," Hunter shrugged, shaking his head. Bear showed no signs of changing his mind and suggested the pilots get their rest...along with sharing the news of Imera's death. Hunter fell silent. "Well...that just made today's high point of the day... Sorta just-" Hunter dropped his train of thought. As Bear filled the pilots in on the history of the Zero, the Knights and the Pages, Hunter could only think of what happened to Imera happening to them soon. We have to win this fight then... We can't let all of our comrades and predecessors lives be wasted. In whatever time we have... he thought to himself, returning his attention to the others as Shu asked if they wanted to get a bite to eat. "Yeah...sounds good man," Hunter said, still trying to regain some kind of composure. As the ladies headed their separate ways, the guys headed to the dining area. Hunter listened to the others' background as they ate, sort of impressed by the other two. At least their causes seemed a little more noble. Once it came to his turn, he took one last bite of his burger, setting it back on his plate and washing it down. He leaned back in his seat, lifting the front legs off of the floor. "Well...Let's see... I lost my folks when the Barons showed up, and by that I mean I got separated from them and I assume it was too dangerous for them to seek me out. Had to make a living off of not so commendable deeds. Hacking, stealing, nothing legal. Nothing the Barons were too fond of since I was using my skills on them once I got them down to an art," he said with a bit of a smile. "But I'm not in this fight for anything like you guys. I'm in it for payback and I wanna kick these assholes off of our planet in tiny particles," he said with a chuckle. "Unfortunately, a lot of my practice was on other people, ya know? So I can't let all that be in vain. Though I did take my thrashings back when I got caught, it taught me it wasn't all about surviving with money. It taught me how to hold my own, ya know?"
14. Thinking about having a weapon switch system for Hunter so he's not stuck with a certain weapon layout and giving him more specialized combat against the different Barons. That and/or implementing an armor disengage so he can use his street fighting and turning his weapons into a different type of weapon while being able to go hand to hand. Won't be as well as Obsidian since his Knight's designed for it, but the street fighting would be a change of pace.

A huge grin crossed his face as he saw how many rounds he was dealing with for these two. "These should last as a decent amount of time if nothing else...We'll worry about what else we got when we get through half of these, Vox." "We're looking at nearly half a meter of armor on these targets, Hunter. Our rounds should make it through with concentrated fire, but other wise, they'll merely hurt. Although not a bad alternative, I suppose..." Hunter gave a chuckle and smirked, slamming his hands down into either sides of the Green KNIGHT's tasset, causing it to separate and deploy barrels that were the length and diameter of his arms. He grinned widely as the Beasts came into range. As if on queue, Saph requested cover fire. "Consider it done..." he replied with growing laughter as he let loose a barrage of rounds into the Beasts, keeping them at a distance as the KNIGHTs regrouped. He gave an impressed look as Saph practically disabled one of them with an insane output of electricity just by stopping its punch. Once plans were laid down and the KNIGHTs moved into position, Hunter reconnected the tasset while still having it on his arms. While the CQC KNIGHTs made their move, Hunter spotted an opening. "Let's see how you like this!!!" Hunter yelled out a battle cry as he let rounds loose into their first target, letting off a barrage of bullets into it from both chainguns. It wasn't enough to deal any critical damage, but it was enough to keep it's attention divided. As they fell it, Hunter detached his chainguns from each other, keeping his fire on the other Beasts to keep them off of his allies while they didn't need his aid. Unfortunately, things seemed to go in the Barons' favor as the KNIGHTs seemed to be having a bit more trouble, especially as they brought in their "King Beast." Hunter stared blankly. "I stand corrected... THAT is a huge *****..." he said, shaking his head as he could see that his rounds weren't doing much. "Vox, what kind of specialty rounds do we have exactly?" "I thought you'd never ask. Might I suggest Thermite rounds or satchels even?" Vox replied. Hunter grinned again, opening communications. "Don't worry...I got something for that big *****!" he shouted as he dropped the chaingun in his right hand into the sand, drawing out what looked like a shortened shotgun from a compartment in the Green KNIGHT's hip. He took a shot on the large target, landing it square between its eyes, watching as a red spark came from the mark. "You three might wanna evac that particular area..." "Why, what was that?" Shu said as the KNIGHTs got out from the Beast's reach. Hunter laughed, stowing the sidearm. "Let's just say it's about to get hot down there," and if by voice command, the King Beast's head ignited, and the fire started spreading down its body. "Thermite rounds. Burns through metal like a match through gasoline. Bon appetite, Barons!" Hunter laughed, picking his chaingun back up and focusing fire on the Beast's head until it was forced onto its back. As each bullet struck, the fire spread faster, eventually splitting its head in half from the sheer heat on the armor. Hunter looked at the beast with a satisfied smile, watching it burn to the ground.

Hunter approached his Knight with a smile still on his lips. "This is certainly a fine piece of work. Never seen anything more impressive til today..." he said, looking it over as he stood in front of it now. He pressed his hand against the Knight's ankle, looking over the anchoring system. "Guess this thing is made to stand its ground pretty well..." he noted as he looked the Knight up and down, returning to the front of it. "Guess it's time to see what the inside looks like," he said as he climbed up into the Knight's cockpit, stepping into the room as the door shut behind him. "There...are no controls. How is it operated?" he asked himself, looking around the small room. "That all depends on who is asking..." came a voice from inside the Knight, causing Hunter further confusion. "Wait, you can talk too?" Hunter asked the voice, thinking that his Knight was the source of the voice. "Of course I can talk. Can't you?" it replied, causing Hunter to give a laugh. "What is your name?" "Name's Hunter. How about you? You got a name, partner?" Hunter asked, smiling. He couldn't believe he was talking to this gigantic masterpiece of technology. "You may call me Vox. Is it time for us to finally take to battle, Hunter?" Vox asked, with a sense of excitement in the tone. Hunter grinned. "Time to show these Baron bastards what for... Sorry if I'm a little sloppy at first. They sort of skipped 'KNIGHT piloting: 101' in school," he said with a chuckle. "But as long as we can cause some explosions, we'll be good to go," Hunter added. "Haha. No worries there, Hunter. Demolition and heavy arms are my specialty. You'll get to see what all you really have to work with once we get you strapped in," Vox replied as the room lit up and a ring descended from the ceiling, coating Hunter in a dark green substance with silver sensors along the suit made by the coating. "Feel free to browse our inventory before we reach our destination and thank you for shopping," Vox said as the descent was slowing up. Hunter grinned widely. "Dear gods...I think I may have died and gone to heaven...! ...Or some explosive bound equivalent..." he said with a chuckle, pulling a squared object off of Vox's back and holding it over his shoulder as it deployed a barrel and extended backwards as well. "So we move as one... Don't have to think, just have to do... suits me just fine," Hunter said, his tone becoming serious. "Let's give these assholes some hell, Vox..." he said, pulling his goggles down as his Knight did the same. The Knights made their landing in front of a slew of Barons. As their leader seemed to ramble on, Hunter got more and more annoyed as soon as they started talking about surrender. As soon as Saph took the first shot, Hunter grinned widely, setting his sights amongst the Barons as the other Knights broke off into combat themselves. "Let's see what this cannon can d-" he said as he launched the first shot, sending several clustered Barons flying, as well as sending Hunter and Vox back a good bit from the recoil. "Huh...note to self: use the anchors..." "Launcher is only good for two shots, Hunter. Make them count," Vox noted. "Got it. I'll make sure to save it for later," Hunter said, stowing the launcher as it compacted again. "I'm more interested in these babies anyway..." he smirked, his Knight's shoulders opening up as a lot of lock on confirmations appeared on Hunter's display. "Mark all friendly targets as well to avoid friendly fire." "Done." "Opening fire!" Hunter yelled, his Knights anchors slamming into the ground as the missile pods unleashed a barrage of missiles, multiples slamming into single targets enough to incapacitate them as opposed to firing wildly among the entire horde. The chest cavity and other missile housing opened up, unleashing missiles on more targets as the other Knights engaged them. Hunter focused on support fire this volley, pulling out his assault rifle and laying down cover fire, using it along with his shoulder mounted guns. Gotta keep an eye on the ammo reserves, but this will keep 'em busy. Piss em off if nothing else... Hunter thought with a smirk.

As Hunter got to his feet, he clutched at his right arm as he could feel the burning sensation from the scar that remained. I feel like every cell in my body just exploded...Am I even alive? he thought to himself as he tried to gain some focus. His gaze shifted to the scene around him. It looked like he was the only survivor of this suicidal attempt to combat the Barons before he caught four other figures who seemed to have, at least, some kind of vital signs. He rubbed his forehead, seeing that Saph, Crimson, Obsidian and Shu were still alive after the injection. Hunter watched as Saph pinned someone he didn't recognize to the wall, ready to jump in before he saw who it was and sighed with relief. He heard something about getting ready for combat and his attention finally came to complete focus. "What the hell? We just wake up from barely surviving this thing and now you want us to go out there fight blindly?! Whose idea is th-" "Relax, Hunter! It has to be done. You've got an hour to get your act together," Bear said before dismissing the pilots. Hunter swatted Saph's hand away, looking at her strangely before shaking his head and heading to hit the showers. He let out a sigh as the water hit his skin, glancing over to his scar. Guess we made it this far for some reason or another. We'd better not waste the chance. A smirk crossed his lips. At least we'll get to blast some of those bastards to hell, right? he thought with a chuckle. After he finished cleaning up and drying off, he headed to his quarters and pulled his uniform on, pulling his goggles on over his hair and resting them on his forehead. He looked to the exit and shook his head with a smile. "No turning back now..." he said as he made his way out the door and headed to the hangar. As he walked in, he was lead to his green KNIGHT and he was immediately impressed. "Please tell me the one with the firepower is mine..." "This is your partner, Hunter. Go and get yourself acquainted. I'm sure it'll be right up your alley given your history," said his escort. Hunter's smile turned into a grin as he pulled his darkened goggles over his eyes. "It'll be my pleasure to work with you, big guy," he said while looking to the green and silver knight. He made his way toward the knight and let the crew members help him prepare. If nothing else, he would be able to learn how to make preparations for himself before he learned how to the help the others. Just let's try to come back alive...all of us... For the guys that didn't make it...

Again...? How many days is that in a row now...?

19. EDIT: Consider it done, folks.
20. Name: Hunter (only known name) Age: 27 Personality: What's better than one explosion? An explosion big enough to wipe out an entire defense force. Hunter's belief is that nearly anything can be resolved with an explosion. Sarcastic, laid-back, and always up for a fight best describes this young man. Also in the belief that no Barons deserve to live, he believes his love for explosions could easily solve this. Aside from his love for explosions, Hunter is often consumed in his inventions(generally explosives and infiltration assisting devices) and can easily be distracted by a fine or horrible piece of technology. He was constantly practicing hacking into systems and he has, more than once, been caught and arrested in his much younger age. Now he uses it more for protection than personal gain. Appearance: Hunter Blood Type: B- Special Training: Hunter's only special training is how to hack into systems, defend against hacking, blowing things up, and blowing things up with precision. Infiltration and demolition are his specialties. Combat Training: Hunter is trained for combat with knives(combat and throwing) as well as a range of firearms(Light and heavy pistols, shotguns, sub machine guns, artillery and most explosive devices including RPGs and Grenade Launchers). He always carries an army knife, boot knife, a set of three throwing knives, a 9mm light pistol, and several C4. As far as hand-to-hand combat, he's simply a street fighter, using any thing that works. Reason for Fighting: He wishes to eradicate the Barons and keep them from causing further suffering. KNIGHT: Green KNIGHT KNIGHT's appearance: The Green Knight wears medium armor with a blast visor that raises from and lowers over the blue eyes of the KNIGHT. The armor is a deep hunter green, accented with silver trim and a black body. It hides a stash of missiles beneath each pauldron which extend an arm width past each arm and are double plated for added protection. The Green Knight's tasset actually separates and attaches to each of the KNIGHT's arms, deploying two chainguns with a large supply of rounds that are housed both in the legs and arms(the tasset becomes an added shield to the upper body in this instance). When entering a full salvo, the Green Knight anchors itself by launching weighted spikes from it's lower legs and ankles into the ground which keep it still for the duration of its all out attack. It's subweapons include a pair of heated army knives, capable of cauterizing most metals; a sidearm for deploying specialty rounds; shoulder mounted machine guns; a small reserve of wrist, leg, and chest housed missiles; an assault rifle which is worn on its side in place of a sword; and a supply of smaller scale explosives. KNIGHT's strengths: Due to its choice of blast resistant medium armor, it can survive a point blank blast even from it's own attacks and the weight of the armor allows for better mobility than if it were equipped with heavy armor. KNIGHT's weaknesses: Due to the KNIGHT's selection of weaponry, it is usually in danger in close range combat, especially if an enemy keeps its missile pods from opening or even if it can't reach its melee weaponry. And because of it's large supply of ammunition, it is still slower than most other KNIGHTs in medium armor despite the difference there would be with heavy armor.
21. I'll actually be going Green Knight if someone wants White. Gonna work on my post later tonight and/or tomorrow though.
22. TJ blinked as Kaion left, nodding at the request left by him as he departed. All of the information was a lot to take in, but he was glad to see his recruiter was still alive and well. He was also a little surprised that Oka was his sister and he hadn't mentioned it to him. He let out a sigh and took his sweatshirt and cap off, revealing the desert eagle he wears at his side. He figured while he could sort this information out, it would be a good time to make preparations for the task at hand. He reached into his bag and grabbed one of his bats, setting it on the floor next to him. He dug a bit further in and grabbed a small canister with a pull pin on the top of it. Sure our fifteen foot friend should enjoy this, he thought as he pulled out four more of them. Next best thing to an old fashioned molotov is an old fashioned incendiary grenade. It's a good thing to have connections. I'll have to stop through PA once we're done and get in touch with Rodriguez. He thought as he started maintenance on his Deagle. As he slipped into auto-pilot, he started thinking more about the intel Kaion gave them. He looked up as he felt someone approaching. He saw that it was Ghost and acknowledged him with a nod. "What's up, chief?" he asked, still cleaning his handgun. "Readying for our target?" Ghost asked him, setting up near him and starting on preparations of his own. TJ nodded and handed one of the grenades to him. With a nod, Ghost added it to his arsenal. "What do you make of the news about the Gate and the seals?" TJ shook his head at the question. "Still trying to make heads or tails of it for the time being, ya know? I guess I just never realized how crazy the world had gotten. Kinda hope Kaion can get a definite on if, who or what's looking for the Hell's Gate. It's not bad enough being in the dark on this news up until now to end up finding out just how deep we could be in the **** now... Just a lot to take in," TJ said with a shrug, looking to Gene and Dylan who seemed to be getting ready in their own ways as well. "Either way, we have a job to do here and we know what we're looking for and what we're up against. This should be a clean sweep between the five of us," he said, looking back to Ghost. Ghost gave a nod, looking to the others and then back to TJ. "Either way, we have tonight to get some rest in. We can't take this thing down until daylight anyway. May as well take some time to recuperate while we have the chance. Who knows when we'll get to rest between missions?" TJ sighed and shrugged. "You make a good point. Still want to be ready as soon as we wake up. Although I guess that means we also have some time to kill. Any suggestions anyone?" he asked the guys.
23. TJ nodded a thanks to Ghost as he equipped himself with the new comm. "I'm sure we'll need these. Appreciate it," he said, pulling his cap off and tucking it in his bag. He adjusted his sweatshirt and looked to the others as they continued their march. As they finally reached the outskirts of town, TJ paused, thinking he caught a glimpse of something. He shook the image from his head. "See something?" Gene asked. TJ gave a shrug. "I'm really not sure to be honest. If I was, I'd have already been in pursuit," he said, keeping his attention that way just in case. Oka glanced over her shoulder. "I advise that we split up here. We'll meet at the inn tonight and report to each other frequently. Pair up if you want to. I'll be looking into some things myself. I'll contact you within the hour unless I find something pressing," she said. "We're supposedly dealing with bears, but I don't buy it. Find what you can," she finishes and headed off. TJ scratched the back of his head. "So how do we want to do this? Our skill sets are probably compatible all of the way around, so...?" TJ scratched the back of his head, having no real preference yet.
24. T.J. shook his head as he sat on the edge of the nearest bed to his bag. He reached into his bag and moved some of the bats around and gave a nod as he saw a glint reflecting off of one of the bats. He zipped his bag back up after putting the bag for his clothes back into it and slung it over his shoulder. He made his way out to the van, resting a hand on Oka's shoulder as he passed her. He put his bag back in the trunk, shutting it afterward. He raised an eyebrow after seeing that Gene had made a call, but made no comment on it. Wasn't really any of his business anyway. He gave a glance to the unfamiliar face as they started over to the group. TJ gave the man little regard aside from tensing up defensively. He headed up to sit in the passenger seat, leaving the door open as he took a seat. TJ looked over his shoulder to Gene, raising an eyebrow. After catching Gene's glance, TJ gave a slight head movement toward the guy that just showed up. Gene gave a shrug as well as they both watched in the mirrors to see the guy move to Oka. The two began to speak and TJ just shrugged it off. "Guess it's someone she knows," he said, readjusting in his seat and relaxing somewhat. Gene shrugged it off. "Beats me. Gonna go fill up before we get rolling though." TJ gave a nod. "I'll keep you company. It's best for us to at least hang out in pairs," he said, pulling his seat belt on. "If that's alright that is," TJ said with a chuckle, tipping his cap up. Gene smirked. "No matter to me, man," he said, starting the car and pulling out of the lot. The others look confused, but TJ shot them a text before they were out of eyeshot reading: "Filling up. Be back momentarily." "I'd ask if everything was alright, but it's not hard to see that the boss doesn't give you a lot of room to trust her," TJ said, looking down the road. Gene shook his head, rubbing his temple. "I understand. I guess it doesn't bother me because I'd only become a hunter to help people despite their problems. The guy that recruited me went missing too, but I haven't heard anything saying they found remains or anything so at least I know he's alive," he said, sighing. "Guess as long as we're helping her while getting jobs done, we're still doing what we're supposed to. Just...seems misguided though." "Well, you're right. It does seem misguided. Just wish we could actually trust our 'leader.' She's telling us to do what she wants us to do without giving us rhyme or reason. And then that spirit just stops in its tracks with no explanation. I don't like working with someone who ain't telling me everything," Gene said with an obvious bad taste in his mouth. They pulled into the gas station and Gene jumped out and started pumping fuel as TJ had gotten out, leaning against his door. "We'll figure it out, chief. Until then, we keep doing our job. She'll tell us when she's ready. Gotta figure she's leading us for a reason or another," TJ said, stroking his hairless chin. "You ever shave more than you mean to end up taking everything off? Hate that..." he said, sidetracked momentarily. Gene just shook his head with a chuckle after hanging the pump back up. TJ looked up. "Uh...don't mind me... Just talk to myself more than I'd like." Gene gave a shrug. "No big man. Let's head back and get this show on the road," he said, jumping back into the drivers seat as TJ hopped back in as well for the two took off back for the motel to pick up the others.
