1. Vince looked at his teammates. This was quite a large party. Three of the warriors he recognized from SOLDIER. Lune, Garrek and Narote. He had trained with them, and found that they were quite capable soldeirs and were impressively strong. Lune was muscle-strong, Garrek was head-strong and, Narote powerful with Magic. He looked over the others with interest. He had seen Kat before, when he traveled through the Sector 7 slums. Kochou was part of a rebel group that SOLDIER had been ordered to eliminate, but failed to. That was after Vince left, but he had watched the battle thoroughly. Demetrius felt familiar, but Vince had no recollection of having met him. He smiled and put his hand onto his blade on his back held onto the hilt, walking from the building with the others. Vince walked next Narote, Kochou, and Lune as the group took turns intriducing themselves. After that was finished, they half of the group headed to the Items Shop while the others waited outside of the city for them. Vince had opted to wait along the outskirts of the city along with Kochou and a couple others. ---Outside of the Town--- Vince practiced striking the air with his Rapier as he waited for the others to arrive from inside of the city. His motions were swift, lucid, fluid. Garrek and Narote walked over to him. Vince turned his head and smiled at them. Garrek smirked and spoke. "You skill with a blades increased since we worked together. Impressive." Narote laughed and pitched in drawing his Kodachis. "You're probably still not as skilled as me." Vince stooped and truned to his friend. He drew his other rapier with his left hand and jumped backwards, landing quite a distance away with both swords held in front of him in a cross shape. He smiled. "You ready to back that statement, Narote?" Narote took battle position as well, and they lunged at each other, but stopped dead in their tracks. A loud cry had come from the distance, and was getting progressively louder. Vince identified the sound immediately. He spun his blades in his hands as he watched the pack of creatures come closer. "Fiends." Garrek drew his pistols and pointed them at the beasts that closed in on them. Soon they were right on top of them, surronding the warriors. Vince smiled and yelled fiercely. "Go!" Vince sprung forward, Narote to the left, and Garrek to the right. Narote spun his kodachis in front of him and shoved them into the ground, casting Reconciliation. The ground trembled beneath them and shot up infrequently. Spires drove through three fiends, and Garrek was raised to an elevated level. He rained down judgment from above the creatures, blasting through the rough hide of the dragon-esque fiends. Garrek cast barrier, keeping the creatures from taking to high into the air. One dragon flew up none-the-less and made to attack Garrek, but didn't recieve it's chance as Vince intervened. He ran up the barrier, did a backflip, turned and drove his blades into the dragon's back. The dragon roared in pai, and tried to shake off Vince. It didn't manage to do so efficeintly, and plummeted to the ground, dead. Vince sprung up and wasted no time in firing concentrated lightning into a dragon in front of him. Vince, Narote, and Gare all jumped back into the center of the barrier. There were still quite a umber of fiends left. A giant Volcanic Dragon stood before them, and reared it's head back and launched smoldering flames onto them. They had worked together as a team before, though, so this creature was no problem. Vince had copied Deo from Narote earlier in batle, so he cast it, keeping the creature's blast from striking them from. Narote cast Chrono, and the blast slowed considerably. Vince copied the blast using his Enemy Skill materia and kept the blast at bay while Garrek charged up the final blow to this fearsome tri-sttack. He held his guns above hm, charged them with materia, then aimed them in forward. His eyes danced with the light reflecting off his weapons. "Flare!" Two giant beams shot forth from his psitols, tearing through the Creature and everything behind it, including the barrier, which collapsed. A voice caught Vince's ear, and then a shot fired from behind made him smile. Allies. +++++ OOC: What wuld a Final Fantasy RPG be without battle? Hope this alright, everyone. And I hope I did justice to Garrek and Narote.
2. Thayne's eyes flickered open. He was lying on a hard concrete surface, and his head was throbbing. Warm blood was trickling down his face, and he could feel dried blood as well. He tried to move but his body was racked with pain and collapsed to the ground. The events of the battle flooded into his mind along with the pain. Ridiculously outnumbered, they had fled, but were cornered none-the-less. Luckily they had made it out of that situation, but Thayne had been split from his allies afterwards. The Vampire's followed him relentlessly, no matter how many he burned to a crisp. Finally he was in the thick dense of the forest when he could run no further, as he was surrounded on all sides. He had grimaced and launched his all out counterassault. But it had been to no avail. He burned down a great many number of Vampires, but alone he was no match for the raging hordes. He was beaten fiercely, though not enough to kill him. He was conscious for most of his torture, until finally passing out into cold darkness. His body was still hurting from the beating he had probably received four to five hours ago. He tried once more to pick himself up, and succeeded. He walked to the bars and heard voices. He recognized them as Katima and Richard. ?Richard?do you think we?ll survive this?? Katima?s voice sounded unstable, disconnected. Richard didn?t reply to her comment, so Thayne decided to pitch in. His voice was hoarse as he mustered the strength to speak. ?We have to.? Katima and Richard both jumped with a start, then realized who was speaking. Richard instinctively spoke out to his friend. ?You alright?? Thayne smiled and nodded his head slightly, before coughing up blood. He wiped it from his moth and flicked it into the corner of his cell. He had been fine a second ago, but something had struck him in the stomach. He looked down at his feet. A rock. He saw two Vampire guards walk out from the dungeon laughing. Thayne growled and answered Richard. ?Yah. Not in the best condition, but I?ll live. How are you two?? Katima mumbled fine and Richard did so as well. They were all whipped, and Thayne could sense that Richard was a little uneasy. He didn?t know why though. He looked over to the other cells and saw that Jade and Tegan were unconscious still. He fell down to the ground and sat there. Tegan had only just gotten back and was already being submitted to this kind of torture. No one would have thought this was going to happen. We were all just to delighted that Tegan was back. No hint during the day, not Tegan?s comment to Talyn or his conversation with Sin foreshadowed the ambush. Thayne stopped cold. Wait?Sin? Talyn? Suddenly a thought dawned on him. He sprung to his feet, shook violently, then collapsed into a wall. He pulled himself to the front of his cell and addressed Richard and Katima. ?What?do you think became of the others??

4. Hey guys. I find myself once again in need of the awe-inspiring creations of the OBer's artists, so I would be very obliged if someone could take the picture I have attached [and others if you can find 'em] and make me an: Avatar: With Kaze on it and my name in archaic lettering, and a heroic, techno-esque background. Banner: Kaze by himself, if that can be managed, if not use all of them from the pic, with the same or matching background of the avatar. On it, in similiar archaic lettering as my name on the avi, please write, "The spirit of just men made perfect." +++++ Thanks to all whom attempt. 5. Pietro silently snuck away from his comrades and progressed to look throughout the Vatican building. He admired the architecture, and the whole building was brimming with holy energy. This was close to heaven as any man would make it during their lifetime. He went into the grand archives and read for quite a while, as sleep didn?t seem becoming at that very moment. He read into the late hours of the day, when he saw Josef walk to his room. He was obviously coming back from the church. Pietro put the books he was reading back onto the shelves and headed to pray, He hadn?t done so in many days, for sadly, the road to the Vatican housed no churches. It was saddening to see the lack of worship towards the lord, but it was understandable. Times were changing and most people had no times to themselves any longer. Understandable?yet still so very sad. He kneeled at the alter and prayed. He had always found a solstice inside of the walls of a house of God. He was connected to the great, vast, incomprehensible giver and taker of life in this building, and it left him in s state of awe, wonder, and tranquility. He finished, looked the place over once more, and went to his room to pack. He finished packing relatively quickly and fell into bed, thinking about what would be needed to be done tomorrow. He decided that since there was still much of the day left, that he would go find out more of his comrades. Though he was headed for Josef?s room, he took the long way around the Vatican. There were some rooms he had not yet glanced through, and he wanted to see the grandeur of the building in the evening. Father Giovanni was busying himself in the archives with other Fathers, and they all seemed to be concentrating extremely at whatever task was at hand. He admired the men and women of the Vatican. They were far more dedicated to the lord than that of a usual priest. He made his way full round and walked up to Josef?s door. He knocked casually and announced himself, but didn?t do so loudly enough as a voice emanated from behind it in question. ?Yes? Who is it?? Pietro smiled and spoke up. ?It?s Pietro. I was wondering if we could?talk?? Josef opened the door and welcomed Pietro in. Pietro took a seat at the desk, while Josef sat on the bed. The two sat in silence for a moment, then Pietro began conversation. ?This building, is beautiful, is it not?? Josef smiled and nodded, surveying his room as he replied to the statement. ?It is quite beautiful. It is a shame that we will have to leave tomorrow, but those people do need our help. It?s our calling to protect them.? Pietro smiled, his thoughts confirmed. He had often wondered of the motives of his fellow warriors. Was it just a job to them? Or more, like it was to himself? What Josef said had proved that he was here for the same reason Pietro was. Not merely because this was what he was good at, but to help others. He was here by choice. Pietro smiled and nodded. ?Yes, I agree. It all seems very odd though? What sort of creature do you imagine we will meet in the city of Surgut?? ***** OOC: Hope that?s alright Kairi. I thought it would be nice for our characters to get to know each other better.
6. Vince stared around at the others in the room. A young girl, Katchya, and two men, Lucifer and Kochou had joined this odd meeting, and apparently Loz and Yazoo weren't suprised to see them. Vince still had his weapons in hand, and the other three warriors were holding their weapons as well. Katchya moved her weapon from Lucifer and Vince and pointed them both at Yazoo and Loz. Vince smiled, and walked next to her, along with the other guys. VInce spoke. "Why should we trust you? You were in league with Kadaj, why would you suddenly go against him? It doesn't make sense." Yazoo took a step forward and spoke. "Kadaj is blind, now. He no longer knows what is best for the planet. He still follows mother blindly, and needs to be stopped before he can find her. We need the best warriors to defeat him." Kochou looked at them and grinned. "Well, like I said before, when do we leave and where is?" The others nodded in agreement. They were thoroughly convinced that Yazoo and Loz weren't sending them into a trap. Loz tok a step forward and everyone raised their weapon. They might believe them, but they were far from trusting these two. Loz spoke. "He showed us of his defiance outside of the city of Geffutel. He won't remain there for long, but you will undoubtedly be on the right track if you start there. He'll be moving by foot so he won't be as hard to track." Vince slid his rapiers back into place on his back. He turned to his new allies and spoke. "Let's hurry, then. Even if he is on foot, we are as well, and are thus at a disadvantage." They nodded in agreement and started walking from the labarotory. Yazoo spoke from behind them. "When you are finished, or if you need us, we will be located here." Vince grunted in acknowledgement and looked at each other. ***** OOC: Hope that's alright, everyone. EDIT: Changed it so we could include others.
7. Vince walked forward and gazed over the forsaken town of Nibleheim. The town that Sephiroth himself had burned down, a town that now seemed to have completely fogotten the horrors of it's past. The town of Ice. He ran his hand through his hair, grinning. He would get hell upon entry, he just knew it. They had very little trust for men with silver hair. He walked into the town casually, looking over the houses. Nibleheim was small in comparison to even the slums of Midgard, but he liked the quiant feel it had. He could see people staring at him from inside of their homes, and he grew tense. He looked like a warrior moreso today, he had wrapped his arms in bandages in case of a fight. He hadn't spent more than a couple minutes in the city before the townsfolk came from their houses, carrying weapons. They had armed themselves long ago, under the orders of their newly appointed mayor, Sir Treno. He was no where to be seen though, and they townsfolk wouldn't show restraint to the stranger unless ordered to do so. A large man with an axe stepped forward. "What is it that you need sir? I'm sure we can help you to be along your way." Vince looked over the man and merely smiled and shook his head. "No, I'll be just fine on my own, thank you. Now if you could step aside..." He was surronded, now. Two men with shotguns, the man with the axe, a man with a staff, and a warrior with a sword had created a circle around him. The axe-wielder spoke up again. "I'm sorry but we can't allow you to do that. You are carryong weapons on you, thus making you potentially dangerous to the people of this town. Please allow us to escort you out of town." Vince stopped smiling and drew his El Cid Swords. He didn't have time to deal with them. He needed to make it to the manor in back of the town. It was his best start for finding Kadaj. "I need to make it to the manor, whether you allow me to or not." The axe-warrior brought his axe down in response to that. Vince frowned again. He had hoped they'd be able to see the Mako reacting in his eyes, or even the Geostigma reacting within him. Then they'd have been frightened, and left him alone. He was obviously going to need to envoke the fear. In one quick movement he cut the guns of two of the warriors in half. Three left for him to deal with. He silently named the three warriors in his head for intentional purposes. Heavyarms, Boa, and Blade. He jumped back from a swing by Heavyarms and jumped over a slash by Blade. Face to face with Boa now, he kicked the staff with all of his strength, breaking it in half and kicking the man squarely in his chest. Blad and Heavyarms had turned on him againa nad were prparing to strike when a voice echoed throughout the town, causing them to freeze in place. Vince smiled and mounted his rapiers back on his back. Sir Treno walked forward, a rugged young man in his mid-twenties. His eyes were black, with hints of Geostigma within them. A large scar lined from his forhead, over his left eye, and down to his stubble chin. His blades were latched to his arms, and came down when he presed a button. He walked forward, past Heavyarms and Blade, and smiled at Vince, taking his hand in his. The wo men shook firmly, smiling and remembering times of when they had worked together as Turks. Treno spoke. "Good to see you, Vince. Sorry about the townspeople. They're all very uptight about current events, and there are rumors of Kadaj being back. They cannot help but feel distrustful towards a silverhaired man like yourself. So what brings you here?" Vince shook his head. "Kadaj. I figured it might be worthwhile to examin the lad in the manor for any hints as too what he may me doing. His...'father' did the same, when his hatred and rage begin to take surface..." Vince stooped his sentence as a streak of green lgith flooded from the sky into the manor. Treno had seen it as well, and the two ran their quickly. They quickly went into the manor and descended the stairs into the lab. Upon reaching it, they were amazed at what they found. Waiting for them there, was Yazzo and Loz. Treno and Vince instantly drew their weapons, but Yazoo raised his hands up., signaling that Loz and him were not there for a fight. Yazoo spoke. "We aren't here to quarell. We are actually here to ask you, Vince, for a favor." Vince looked to Treno, confused, and then back to Yazoo and Loz. His hands wee still tense around his blade, he wasn't going to let his guard down. "What do you ned me for?" Loz chuckled softly as Yazoo spoke. "We need you to defeat our brother, Kadaj." ***** OOC: Hope that's alright, Deucalion. Didn't have much to go off, so uh, PM me if I need to change anything.
8. Name: Vince Tarrette Age: 25 Gender: Male Appearance: [Vince] Silver haired and blue eyed, Vince is an odd sight. He stands at 6?3?? and is physically toned. His hair is spiked, though a patch of bangs falls over his right eye. His eyes are usually covered by a pair of square-rimmed, lightly tinted black shades. His skin is tanned, for he spends much of his spare time traveling. He wouldn?t be considered muscular, weighing only 134 lbs. but his physical demeanor masks his true power. His thin body allows him to be exceptionally versatile and the combination of strength and speed allows his movements to be swift, precise, and mighty. He wears a black, sleeveless trench coat with silver lining. Beneath the trench coat is a black sleeveless shirt and a pair of baggy, black pants. He wears black, fingerless gloves on both hands and has a silver dragon ring on both of his middle fingers. Around his neck is a crux gemmata, an crucifix with thirteen onyx gems embedded in it. Weapons: El Cid Swords- Two rapiers hand crafted by a skilled blacksmith eons ago. They are the only weapons Vince carries on him, and if they are rendered useless or out of his reach he will fight with his fists. Materia: Restore- Channeling the powers of lifestream, Vince is able to heal the wounds of himself or his ally. Does damage against enemies of darkness. Thunder- The air around Vince begins to crackle and he can either channel lightning into his blade and strike the enemy or send a concentrated bolt directly at them. Enemy skill- With thorough examination of an opponent?s attack, Vince can copy and use the skill as his own. Personality: Vince loves the thrill of battle. He enjoys fighting, but will not cause unnecessary damage and will not involve innocents in his fights. He had long ago promised to use his blade for the good of mankind, a promise he made shortly after leaving the Turks. He is a friendly person, and everyone gets along with him. He loves o travel and doesn?t really consider any place home. He is more or less a drifter, and only he knows why he continues to drift, He is a selfless warrior in all aspects and often covers others from attacks, despite his condition. Though a noble quality, he often forgets to help himself in battle and leaves himself vulnerable to damage. When not in battle he spends his time in bars, usually with lots of people around him. He smokes every now and then, but isn?t addicted, and doesn?t actually like smoking. But he will do so every-once-and-a-while to honor the memory of his friend, Jod. Biography: Vince grew up in the city of Midgar from childhood. He grew up in the slums, Sector 5 to be exact. His childhood was actually a wonderful one and he grew into a fine young gentleman. At the age of 14, he had already decided what he wanted to do with his life. His parents frowned upon his ambition, but, loving their son and promising to stand behind him no matter what, accepted it. He had heard stories often from the other kids of the group in the slums of warriors called the Turks who worked for Shin-Ra. Thought they carried out the dirty work for Shin-Ra, it seemed thrilling, and Vince was sure he would make it as one of them. He went off and proved himself worthy to be a member. He used a rod as his weapon for the longest, as he didn?t know how to wield a blade and he was repulsed by guns. He was eventually taught the art of swordplay by another member of the Turks, Jod. He became pals with Jod, and they did their jobs with pride. Until things got out of hand. Sent on a job to collect money for an unknown benefactor, Vince was introduced to the true nature of the Turks. A battle erupted when the target refused to pay, and Jod was shot in the crossfire. Vince and the other Turks managed to win the battle, but Jod died. Vince quit shortly after that. His need for strength and Justice had not been quenched yet, so he joined Shi-Ra?s army, and eventually reached the rank of SOLDIER. He worked with SOLDIER legends such as Sephiroth and Zack, and he also worked with a young grunt named Cloud while he was there. He grew close to the three of them. When Sephiroth went mad, Vince couldn?t believe it. He began despising Shin-Ra and it?s antics. After Cloud left and Zack was killed he quit SOLDIER. He traveled as a rouge, picking up information about the whereabouts of his friends. After Cloud defeated the thought to be dead Sephiroth, life grew normal. Vince continued to wander, when he found that the world hadn?t been completely fixed. In every town he went to, he found that the children were growing sick. He ran into a man named Vincent Valentine and he informed him about what the condition, Geostigma, was. He was also informed about the three silver haired youths resembling Sephiroth. He knew what his calling was then, to Kadaj and his allies.
9. Thayne watched as Sin looked over his blade. Thayne looked down at himself and wondered if he to, would need a weapon. He shrugged of the thought. He had something Sin didn't. Control over the light and fire. Those in themselves were his weapons. Beside, he thought to himself smiling as he ran his right hand over his left arm, I've almost become as phyically powerful as him. Thayne looked around the weapons shop, none-the-less as he waited for Sint o purchase his weapon. The thought of a living blade was wild, but it seemed to suit Sin. Thayne's mood fell at that. His thoughts traced to his...friends. The wakanda around him he regarded as friends, and moreso, family. But they all seemed to be retreating into themselves. Katima definitely was going to be keeping to herself now, Richard always did, and it seemed like Talyn's mind is elsewhere. Thayne had picked that up when Tegan had been recieving a beating from Katima. Though Talyn had been trying to help Tegan, Tegan had said something to him afterwards that had made him startled. Like Tegan had figured something out about him. Thayne frowned at the thought of his friend not sharing information with the rest of them, but he merely shrugged off the emotion. Everyone had their fair share of things they hid. Sin walked over to Thayne and hit him playfully over the back. Thayne's modd changed instantly as he looked into the cheery eyes of his best friend. He was almost always happy, and he had the worst demons to face. There was no being miserable around him. Sin grinned. "This blade is awesome. I'm kinda hoping it is alive... Anyway, we should probably head back to our room now and pack." Thayne nodded and they walked up to their room. As they entered, Thayne got an idea. He grabbed some clothing of his and walked into the bathroom. He was in their for a while, then the tub water began to flow. A couple seconds later the bathroom door opened and Thayne walked out. Sin looked him over and luaghed in approval. "What'd you do to yourself?" Thayne had cut his hair shorter, and had spiked it, though two bangs still fell over his face. He was wearing a black trenchcoat with golden lining, and no right sleeve. A white shirt was underneath and so was a balck pair of pants. Around his neck was a crux gemmata, and on his face were a pair of square-rimmed lightly tinted black shades. His gloves and armlets were still on. He grinned and walked over to his bed, loading his stuff into his bag. "Traveling in style, my friend. Asides, this is better battle gear than what I wore before. Much looser."
10. Pietro ran his hand through his hair and smiled, staring up into the sky.The sun's light caressed Pietro's features, and though it was a hot day, he felt superb in his black trenchcoat. A nice breeze was passing through the city, and though the are was empty, the square held a radiance of beauty. He passed by the fountain in the middle and threw a coin in. "Good fortune...And the power to carry out God's will." He smiled anc chuckled, pulling out and throwing in another coin. That was two wishes. He turned from the fountain and walked towards the building of the Vatican. It was beautifully crafted, a fine piece of Roman art. He took a step up the stairs and was flooded with memories. He had first come with the man who had saved him, the man he had taken to be his father. He had first arrived at this place, tattered, idrty, midirected, afraid, unsure. His father and the other's here cleaned him up, taught him the way of God, and gave him a place where he felt at home. Where he felt safe and in tune with God once again. Here he was taught the noble art of swordplay, using rapiers. He was given power to help those who needed it, and to deliver justice. But in retrun for his power, he was to devote his life to God, his strength to God. He obeyed more than willingly. And this place had become his home away from home, his sanctaury, and these people, his family. He smiled and the warm feeling these memories gave him and he walked up the remaining steps, and into the building. He was regarded with looks of misunderstanding and contempt as he walked through. Those who did not know of the Thirteenth order could not understand why a man of God would need two rapiers. Those who did were disgusted with them. They still believed that Iscariot had not repented for it's sins. That it didn't deserved to be recognized within the Vatican. Pietro merely smiled despite their glances. He felt no anger towards them. Most feared and hated what was strange to them. Pietro walked up to the doors of their headquarters and pushed them up. Father Josef Shcmid was standing against the wall resting and Father Mason, and Sisters Bedeau and Arroyo were at he table with Father Giovanni. "Welcome, my son." Father Giovanni took Pietro's hands and smiled. His smile was warm and caring, Pietro had always like this man. That man...was basically his uncle. He chuckled lightly at the thought and bowed his head. "It is good to see you Father. I'm sorry for my late arrival." Giovanni shook his head. "It is fine, please, take a seat. You as well, Josef." Pietro walked over and took a seat next to Osric, and smiled at his brethren. Josef took a seat across from him and they all looked towards Father Giovanni, who held his hands up at the head of the table.
11. Thayne stood next to Sin and shuddered. His best friend had just attempted to... He shook again and pat Sin on the shoulder, whose eyes looked haunted by what he had almost done. "It's alright. It's no suprise that the serum is having less affect. We have to keep brewing a new batch, which can never be as potent as the original. We don't have that kind of time." Sin shrugged and slouched onto the floor. Thayne sat next to him and smiled, jabbing his friend in the ribs. A smiled crept onto Sin's face and he laughed, baring his fangs. "I hate you, you know that? Can't just let me be miserable, can you?" Thayne leaned his head back and stared at the ceiling of the Wakanda Sanctuary. He wasn't just admiring the beauty of this place, a home for all Wakanda and allies to the Wakanda from around the world, but was also showing Sin that he wasn't afraid of his outburst. When Thayne felt that Sin and gotten the point, he stood up and stretched, then faced his comrade, extending his hand. Sin took it and stood up. Thayne looked to the door behind him. The infirmary was probably his least favorit epatrt of the building, he dreaded having to watch others like Sin recieve injections to keep them from killing the others. Sin yawned and hit Thayne on the back. "If we're not going anywhere, then what the hell did I get up for? Give me the grand tour of this place. This is my first time being here." Thayne shook his head and smiled. The truth of the matter was that Sin was hoping for a bar or a training grounds of sorts. He needed to expend energy, the serum always left him restless. Unfortunately, both were present on the ground. Thayne sighed, turned around, and grabbed Sin's sleeve, pulling him down the hallway. After going down three flights of stairs, Thayne and Sin walked out of the building. Behind the building was a large field, with plenty of contraptions. Sin's eyes danced like a child in a toy store. Thayne explained. "This is the obstacle course/ training arena. It'll definietly be easy for you to get a good workout here." SIn ran off quicly and caught a flurry of arrows that came out at him from behind a bush. Thayne smiled and took a seat, deep in thougt. Was Kalei really here? They needed their leader back desperately... She had always been the best at creating Sin's serum, a skill none of the others had. If she didn't come back soon, the serum may not prove helpful any longer. Thayne wanted nothing less than to have to kill Sin..But if he had no other choice... He suddered as a could breeze blew by. ***** OOC: First, I'd like to say that I'm terribly sorry for going AWOL. Things have been pretty hectic lately, and I really haven't recieved much time to post in anything. I am happy to see, however, that you've kept my character alive and...alive. Feel free to kick the crap out of him anytime as punishment for my imcompetence. ^__^
12. Sorry I haven't posted in your thread before, Alex. But better late than never, right? Retribution of the Rising Sun- One word: Amazing! I'm suprised that you collaborated with someone else on this, but it looks wonderful. I fail to see the connection of the colors with the phrase, but at the same time it just seems to fit so well. *grin* I get such pleasure out of knowing I contributed that phrase. ^__^ "A picture is worth a thousand words is a little difficult to read in contrast to the background, but it looks spectavular none-the-less. Alexander Cube- Interesting. I like the image, and the typography blends in nicely, but something about the white line merging/transforming into a black line irks me. The black writing seems a little out of place in comparison with the white and dark blue that are complimented by the background. Still very preetyful, though. 12 pt 2- I like this one much beter than the original. The green font hurt y poor eyes dearly. The white font of 12 pt 2 blends in with the image much better, and doesn't make my eyes water. ~__^ Dying With Glory- I agree with Cyriel. Dying with glory seemed a little to simple. The feeling of the writing just wasn't brought out or portrayed by the simplicity. I do lovess the image, but it could have more...oomf. And as a sidenote, I'm quite fond of Anthology Summer 05. It's an awesome testimony to the work you've created over the summer.
13. Kaine shook himself to conciousness. He had fallen asleep almost instantly after viewing his beautifully adorned room. He jumped up from bed quickly and ran into the bathroom, showering as fast as he could. He jumped out, dressed quickly into his favorite suit and glanced at the clock. He rubbed his eyes quickly to make sure he was reading it right. "6:00! Damnit! I have to go! Now!" He waked over to the door swiftly and exited his room. He was in a rush, but it would have been rude to run into the dining room out of breath and sweating. He quickened his pace, but slowed down a little to look at the brilliant artwork on the walls. He smiled. "Amazing. This Master sure has good taste. Why would he be so eager to give away his money, though?" Kaine kept walking for a bit, and found that the dining room was directly before him. He walked over and took between a silent man and an attractive woman he had seen earlier. He smiled and tried to initiate conversation. "Hello. It's quite a beautiful mansion, wouldn't you agree?" The man looked at him curiosly, not sure if he was a guest or one of the butlers. The woman looked over at him and glanced him over. The gentleman shook of his thoughts and responded. "It is. Very lavish, I love the way the masion is constructed. My name's Alexander, by the way. I don't believe I caught yours." Kaine's smile faltered slightly, then returned to normal. He hadn't meant to skip giving his name to this stranger, and he now felt disrespectful. "So sorry. I've forgotten my manors. My name is Kaine. A pleasure. And yours? If it's of no incovenience to you?" he said politely, turning to face the woman. He instantly wished he could retract the statement, it had sounded more like sarcasm than politeness. She hadn't interpretted it that way, fortunately, and responded kindly. "My name is Allegra. I haven't actually had much time to look around the mansion, as I arrived late." Kaine and Alexander leaned in as Allegra told of her troubles coming to the mansion. After she finished, they launched into another conversation, and dinner was served. By the time dinner had finished, the three were engaged in a conversation regarding fine art, and the master walked in. The table fell eerily silen at his presence. ***** OOC: Sorry for the shortness, but I don't have a lot of time on my hands, and I wanted to make sure I posted. Hope everything is fine, Kairi, and I hope Reiku and Retri are fine with my post as well.
14. Lio raised an eyebrow at his opponent. The man looked to him and grunted. Lio grinned, and so did Kain. Kain seemed like the battle hungry type, so Lio was sure he would enjoy this. He walked over to the man and stuck out his hand, sportsman-like. "Kain, huh? A pleasure. I'm sure our bout will prove to be interesting." Kain smiled and shook Lio's hand. "I'm sure it will. But just know, even though we've been fomrally introduced now, I won't go easy on you." Lio grinned, and his eyes flashed beneath his shades, almost as if saying, And neither will I. Lio and Kain looked around the mountaintop and shrugged. They both didn't see a good place to do battle. Lio spotted a spot further down and pointed. "How 'bout there?" The spot was one of the only places on the mountain that was grassy. It was a wide area, one might have even mistoke it for the ground itself, had the looming edge not been there. Lio loved the beauty and danger of it. The perfect place for the dance of death. Lio bounded down towards the area, did a flip, and laded, his hand on Balmung. Kain chuckled, shook his head, and jumped from his spot to the battleground. He drew his blade and grabbed it with both hands. His eyes had been lit with a flame of intensity. Beneath Lio's shades, his eyes were as well. He grabbed Ragnarok and put it to the side. "A fair fight. You have one blade. I have one blade. No we rely on skill and luck. Commence!" Lio charged at Kain. Kain made no attempt to move though, and met Lio's strike with his own. Their blades struck with such ferocity that the ground trembled. Lio wasn't ready for the force of the blow, and was knocked over. This was a mistake. Kain rose his blade up, and made to bring it down on Lio. Lio rolled out of the way, sprung up and swung at Kain. Kain ducked, slid bacwards, and launched himself forward. Kain and Lio engaged in a fierce cloud of battle, consisted of blows, parrying, and dodging. They seperated, and jumped to different sides of the cliff edge. Both were breathing heavily. Lio fell to the ground, laughing. "Man, this is fun! Wouldn't you agree?" Kain looked at Lio strangely and shrugged. Lio sprung back up and grabbed Balmung with both hands, and charged Kain again. Kain wasn't prepared for that so the blow knocked him backwards. Lio swung his blade at his side. "We may be battling each other, but that's no reason not to enjoy it. Loosen up." Kain stood up and grinned, despite himself. Lio though back to Takai and Leonardo quickly. He wondered how they were doing. His thoughts were interrupted by Kain's blade being attempting to thrust his blade into him. Lio brought Balmung up, having Kain's blade slide along the edge of it. He then spun around and kicked Kain in the back. Kain managaed to grab Lio's leg, though, and tossed him as he fell. Both warriors his the ground hard. Lio shook and sat up, holding his head. Now we're talking! ***** OOC: Tag, Achill---Chief Predator. ~__^

16. Lio stared up from his newly made friend, Takai, to the ceiling of his room. He was lucky to be back and alive. Once he had passed out in the dragon's cavern he was sure his life would soon be over. However, the young warrior Takai had walked in and seen him in his predicament and had uttered out a spell of sorts at the dragon. The dragon stopped it's decent of it's head to Lio's body and straightened out. It's body shook, but it seemed to be under control. Takai came by and shook Lio into conciousness. "Wake up! Wake up, damn you! I know you're not dead and this is no place to take a nap!" Lio's eyes flickered open, and he surveyed the face of the women crouching over him. She seemed like a kind person, but her eyes flashed with worry. He tried to move, but a surge of pain streaked through his body. He layed back down. "Just head on without me. You got that dragon creature under control. He won't...do...any....?" The dragon had leaned over Takai, and he didn't have the dazed look in his eyes any longer. Lio's eyes opened wide as it reared it's head back. "Shit, look out!" He quickly shoved Takain out of the way as the dragons head came swooping down. Takai quickly muttered something, and Lio drew Balmung. As the dragon started to descend into a sleepy state, Lio drove his blade into the creature's forehead, cutting out the diamond. He then slowly stood up and slit the creatures neck. He smiled at the beast. He picked up the diamond from behind him to give to Takai, but she wasn't there. He heard a whistle from behind him, and he found that Takai had something in her hands. She turned around and smiled, 4 gems in her hand. "Nasty bloke had eaten four other creatures. You can go ahead and keep that one. I'd say this victory was well worth it." They had walked back into the castle together, and where now just relaxing. It had been a rough day and night had fallen. Lio pet behind Koinu's ear and adressed Takai. "I'm desperate to discover what our next task is. If it's anything like what we did today...I certainly am looking forward to it." Takai stood up and smiled, and walked towards the door. She called for Koinu and grinned at Lio. "Better hit the sack then. We'll need all the rest we can get if we're going to do well tommorow. Best of luck!" LIo smiled as she walked out, and found that dreariness hit him swiftly, his eyelids flickered, than flickered again, and he collapsed into sleep. The next mornin he dressed in his usuall battle attire and made for the main hall. The main hall was extravagent, and was beautifully decorated. A large fountain resided in the middle. He found that Takai and Koinu were up and about already, as was another female warrior he had caught a glimpse of earlier. He sat down on the fountain edge and gazed out over the land. 17. Lix is right [hiya Lix!], Gerard just uses a lot of make-up. Took me a while to realize that myself, I was a little creeped out by his appearance at first. All I could think was "Dear God! Does that man ever go out into the sunlight!?!" Then I saw them on MTV, cause they're getting ready to shoot a video for the ghost of you, and he looked normal, though his hair was different. Anyway, I love My Chemical Romance. And I'm black. That may seem irrelevant, but whenever I tell my friend George that I'm listening to and enjoying MCR, he rolls his eyes and says, "Dude, you're so not black." I'm quite fond of Emo music, actually, so I enjoy Fall Out Boy as well. The only CD I own by My Chemical Romance is Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge. I hope to get the rest. Oh and, sidenote, they do suck in concert. I heard them on MTV, they SLAUGHTERED Helena, and every other song they played. I cried.
18. Kaine grabbed the mug siting next to him and thrust it against the wall against him. He was frustrated. Frustrated with the world, frustrated with himself. He was getting nowhere with his newest novel, and he knew perfectly well why. His thoughts were elsewhere, where exactly, he had no idea. He had felt like he was missing a part of himself lately, and he couldn't figure why. He sat down in his chair and sighed. His pet dog, Lestat, sat across the room. He called to the dog, who was apparently fightened by his master's outburst of emotion. Kaine tried to speak calmly and kindly. "Come here, Lestat. You have nothing to be afraid of. I'm okay now. For the most part anyway." Lestat appeared to smiled and trotted over. Kaine smiled as he scratched behind the dogs ear. He loved Lestat. The dog was the closest living being to him, and he was all the only innocence in Kaine's life. He was always honest with the dog, he couldn't bring himself to lie to him. "I'm sure inspiration will hit me soon. It's just a matter of t---" A beep came from his computer, interupting hs sentence. He spun in his chair and looked at the screen. He had one new e-mail. He frowned. The Master of Games? he clicked it open and read the message aloud.
Hello, I?m writing to you, my friend, to congratulate you on winning an all expense paid trip to the coast of Scotland to live in my mansion for as long as you wish. Beware, this is no ordinary mansion mind you. Within the walls of my home, everything you ever wished for will be granted to you. And I mean....everything. All the deepest, darkest desires of your heart will be yours. Whatever pleasure you seek for yourself...will be granted to you. If you desire love, sex, money, drugs, food...all of life?s commodities will be yours. If you wish to accept this honor, please...simply reply back with a smile yes or no; and immediate transportation plans will be set in place for you to arrive. Upon arriving, there are three rules which you must obey while in my home. 1) You must obey your cards... 2) You must stay in the light... 3) You must never go into the Angelic Wing... That is all...everything will be explained when you arrive...any questions that you have will not be with held from you prior to entering the mansion. You may be asking yourself...'why would I bother coming to a place such as this?' I?ll tell you why...if you play my little game...if you last living in the house, you will earn half of my family fortune, which comes to around thirteen billion dollars. I?m not joking, I?ve come to realize the worthlessness of money...so I?ve decided to give most of it away to the ones who I find to be worthy. And I will wait as long as it takes to find the right ones. So; whomever can stay within the house for six months, will be declared the winner...and the thirteen billion will be split between those who are left. But hear me...once you enter the mansion, you may not leave the grounds of the estate. So there you have it; come to my mansion...where all your dreams come true...and have the opportunity to win thirteen billion dollars. No strings attached...and believe me...it will be worth your while. Oh, one more thing...do not tell anyone of this, for we want to make this as smooth and without interruptions from the outside world. Don?t worry...we?ll know if you tell...which will automatically revoke your chances of coming to my mansion. As clarity for your honesty and silence...I have taken the liberty of electronically sending ten thousand dollars to your personal back account, as a token of my friendship too you. That is all I will tell you...once you reply back to this email...you will have an escort waiting outside your house within two days to bring you to the mansion. I have chosen you because I feel you to be worthy of such a reward; for your dedication to society, your love and compassion, your leadership, your strength through turmoil, and last but not least...for just who you are. Catch ya later... Sincerely, The Master of Games...
Kaine was shaking after he finished reading the message. But not from fear. He was shaking with anticpation. His adrenaline was pumping. This sounded quite intriguing. Nothing intersting had happened in his life in so long, an escape from the ordinary was well apreciated. "This is just what I need. I'm sure to find some inspiration from this. Or, much more desired, maybe he would find someone." He was suprised by what he had said. His honesty had been prompted by the presence of Lestat, but he hadn't even realized what had excited him so much untill that moment. He sent a message back.
Master of Games. You're offer is to tantalizing to pass up, so I will surely be present at your mansion. I will be leaving today, so expect me shortly. Later, Kaine Maxwell-Kingsley.
He sent the message, then began packing. He gathered all of his belongings, then took a quick shower. He got out, threw on a long sleeved white shirt with a black stripe going over the chest, a short sleeved black shirt over it, and pair of baggy jean shorts, grabbed his shades, then grabbed his Mp3 player and his cell phone. He called to his personal pilot and told him to be prepared, for he was taking a trip. He was usually quite a succeful writer, and often used money from the account the Maxwell's had given to him. He then called his 'sister' and asked her if she could watch Lestat. She said she'd come by later and pick him up. Kaine thanked her and hung up, truning back to his beloved pet. He scratched behind his ear again. "You're gonna go over to Auntie Karen's for a while, okay? I'll be gone for...well, I'm not sure, but don't worry. I assure you I'll be back." He brought all of his bags outside and was amazed to find a limo waiting for him. He was about to pack his bags in and get enter the limo, when a thug came up from behind and grabbed his arm. Kaine looked over his shoulder and saw that the man wasn;t alone, another was sitting in the mercedes behind him. "Master Kaine. Your parents request your presence." Shit! He thought to himself. His parents had racked him down again. He wasn't worried, though. They wouldn't do anything brash to get him to go back to them. But he would to stay away. He dropped his bags and swung around, kicking the man in his chest. The man collapsed and Kaine quickly jumped into the limo. He made it to the airport in no time at all, where he had the pleasure of knocking out the other thug. He got onto the plane with no problem after that. The plane ride was short, and he was at the mansion at no time. He saw two people there. Both female. He walked up and pulled out his mp3 player, and started playing Fall Out Boy. He sung aloud to Dance, Dance. "She says she no good with words but I'm worst. Barely stuttered out a joke of a romantical stuck on my tounge. Weighed down with words too overdramatic. Tonight is it can't get much worst versus, no one should ever feel like- I'm two quarters and a heart down, and I don't want to forget how your voice sounds. These words are all I have so I'll write them. So you need them just to get by? Dance, Dance, We're falling apart to half time, Dance, Dance, And these are the lives you'd love to lead. Dance, this is the way they'd love if they knew, how misery loved me..."
19. Lio frowned. He had been hesitant to run into the dark sand dunes, so the others had gotten a head start. He could see that some warriors had already gotten one diamonds. In actuality, not many had gotten diamonds. Most had died almost instantly after running into the darkness. Some warriors were even killing each other. Lio shuddered at the madness. "No time for that. I need to get started. I'm far behind the other warriors." He slipped in and around the crowd closest to him. He was nearly invisible in the darkness thanks to his black clothing. He still had his shades on, though. He had embraced the darkness in what felt like eons ago, and he saw perfectly fine. He ran into what seemed to be a ditch and stopped. He took the sand from underneath him and rubbed it around. It felt compressed, as if something had stepped on it. Then it dawned on him. The sand creatures weren't all that the desert hid. It hid a dragon. And a massive one at that. He shuddered at the thought. Memories of his childhood flooded into his mind again and he fought to keep focus. He couldn't allow himself to fall victim to his despair. Not now. He was determined to complete his task. A noise from below him caught his attention before he could move. He sprung out of the way as three sand creatures snapped at him. "Shit! I don't have time for small fry!" He jumped onto a nearby rock and watched as the things lowered back into the ground. Then the diamonds caught his eye. One had it in their back, one on their forehead, and the last in it's stomach. Lio smiled to himself. "If I manage to live, that's three diamonds right now." He jumped onto the ground and made a dash fro another rock. He was merely trying to lure out the creatures, but he needed them to believe he was running. One came up behind him, going twice his speed. He lept up and did a backflip, landing on it's back as it came up. He drew Balmung and thrusted it into the creatures neck. It cries furiously and began to ride around in a frenzy. Lio was thrown off violently, and right into the jaws of another creature. He spun quickly, kicking the creatures teeth and catapluting himself backwards as green venom was spit out of it's mouth. He gasped as one of his belts was hit by the venom and began to melt. "Acid?!?! Shit!" He landed on his feet, but was knocked forward by the third creature. He hit the ground and rolled over swiftly as the creature jumped into the air and swooped down. Just as it came down, Lio was forced to move again as the other two jumped up from different angles at him. He lept straight into the air, and both went sraight for him. He laughed. "Two diamonds, coming up!" He shot dark energy from his hands and launched himself higher into the air. The two sand creatures didn't hit each other like he had hoped. They masterfully dodged each other and landed back in the sand. Acid shot at him from all three creatures. He couldn't dodge it fast enough, so he quickly created a weak shadow barrier. The creatures drove through the barrier and knocked him back into the sand. He quickly held his hands up and held the monsters mouth open as it attempted to eat him. The saliva from the creature fell onto the sand beside him and sizzled. Lio put his foot where his right hand was and drew Balmung. He slid it across the creatures face and rolled to the side. The creature roared in pain and began to squirm. Lio ran underneath it and located the diamond. He dragged Balmung under it's whole underbelly, cutting it open. He quickly grabbed the diamond and dashed from underneath the creature as it came crashing down. Lio smiled and fell to the ground. "One....one diamond...just, four more to go." He layed backwards but couldn't rest. The other two had been preocupied with other warriors, but at the site of their brother's downfall, they came after him. Lio ran swiftly, he didn't have the enrgy left to beat another, certainly not two. He stumbled and watched as the creatures came for him. He lifted himself and raised Balmung, but he didn't need to strike. Another soldier cam and impaled one of the creatures with his spear. "You looked like you could use some help. Hope I can be of assistance." Lio smiled at his mistery savior. The two let out an all out onslaught of skill at one of the creatures, but to no avail. It knocked them back and let out a roar, like what seemed to be laughter. The mistery man growled. "We'll never beat it like this. I guess, I'll have to shw my true strength." He yelled, and his muscles increased in mass. His body glowed, and his eyes turned golden. He looked to Lio with sorrow in his eyes. "The call had been for trainees, but I lied my way in. I deserve whatever happens to me. Goodbye." The warrior ran at the creature, and sprung onto it, stabbing it repeatedly with his spear in it's back. It shook him off and ripped his bottom half off. As it did, the warrior shoved his blade through the creatures neck. The creature fell, and Lio ran to the man's body. The man smiled at him, the faded. Tears passed down Lio's face as the monsters diamond landed at his feet. He clutched it and put it into his pocket. "Thanks. You're sacrifice will not have been in vain." He went for the last creature, fire burning in his heart. He drew both Balmung and Ragnarok, the first time in ages he had used both in battle. He was clumsy with both blades, though, but luckily that made his strikes random and unpredictable. He didn't have to beat this one, though. He just managed to take out it's crystal, and it fled. He fell backwards and closed his eyes. He slept for what seemed to be ages. Whe he awoke, he noticed something that he hadn't noticed before. He found that the ground was uneven. He got up slowly and looked over the ground. More footprints. But this time, not random. It was a track. He straightened himself out and ran into the darkness, following the set of footprints. ***** The tracks had seemed to stretch endlessly, almost as if the creature had walked off of the face of the Earth. Lio found that he had been running for an eternity, but he never slowed down. He could almost feel the monster drawing nearer, and the exhiliration fueled him. Finally the tracks came to an end. Lio's jaw dropped. A giant cavern layed ahead of him. And, sticking it's heads out at him, was a massive two headed earth dragon, with a diamond in each of it's forehead. It snorted fire from it's nostrils and glared down at Lio. Lio gulped and almost dropped Balmung. The dragon borught both of his heads back, and launched two mighty fireballs at Lio. He ran out of the way and bolted into the cave. The cave was beautiful, but he didn't have time to admire it's grace. He was running franticaly in an attempt to dodge the stream of fire being emitted from each head. He climbed onto an edge and impulsively jumped at the dragon, slashing frantically at it's eyes. He succeeded in blinding one of the heads, but the other just got pissed. It lanched a fireball straight at Lio, who was sent flying into the wall. "Ugh!" He crashed down into the ground, almost unconcious. He attempted to pick himself up, but found he was suffering from a lack of energy. The creature slinked over to him slowly, prolonging the suffering to come. Lio raised his body up slowly, and stood. His body swayed, but he didn't care. He wouldn't lose now. "Come...come and get it!" The monster shot two plumes of flames that merged into one massive flame. Lio found an extra burst of energy, but he was engulfed by the fire. When the flame cleared, he was nowhere to be seen. The dragon snorted in delight and truned around, only to watch as Lio sprang at it. "I won't lose!" He hit the blinded head's neck with Balmung, and though the drahon skin was as hard as rock, he kept applying pressure an dark energy. He was going to show this creature what he was made of. He pushed harder, suspended in midair by the force of the blow. Finally his efforts payed off. The blade dug into the dragon's skin, and slid throught it's neck. Lio landed on the ground and smirked as the head landed behind him. He tilted his head back at the befuddled creature. "Watch out. 'Cause here I come." He smiled, then passed out.He had pushed his body far, far past his limits. The creature took a couple of steps and stood over Lio's body. ***** OOC: I hope that's alright. Sorry I didn't post sooner. I've been really busy. Chief Predator can vouch for me. 20. Tetsuya rode on the horse for a moment longer, than sprung off of the horse, landing on top of the guard. He grunted and then fel unconcious. Tetsuya took off his helemt and took a deep breath. He then took off his armor as the others undid their binds and incovered their heads. "That armor was awful. I don't think the man who wore these last bathed. Blech." He tossed it all to the side and smiled back at the others. They were all weilding their weapons and were ready for battle. Tetsuya turned to Tomoya. "Well, I suppose we should keep a low profile untill we find the guards. We'll take them out, and then we'll clear our path to the front of the Castle." Tomoya nodded in approval, and truned to the rest of the group. "I think we should split up again. Three of us should clear a path to the top of the castle, and two of us should find the others. That way, once we're togather, all well nedd to do is meet the other's at the top and we can confront the King of this Castle together." Tetsuya agreed. He volunteered to clear the path to the top. Hauken smiled. "I'll go with Tetsuya. The chance to finally let go of all restraint and unleash havoc onto some soldiers." Faith stepped forward also. "I will go as well. I'd probaly be of more use ensuring a safe path for the others." Tetsuya and Tomoya nodded. Tomoya and Rieur ran off down the path ahead of them, and Tetsuya, Hauken, and Faith ran up the stairs beside them. They finally encountered a horde of soldiers standing guard. Tetsuya and Hauken smiled at one another. Tetsuya turned back to Faith. "Ready?" She nodded, smiling slightly. Tetsuya jumped forward and smiled. I think it's time to use that new technique. He held up Ginryû before him and roared at the ememies. "Great Dragon King Bahamut, lend me your power! Technique of the Familiar Spirit!" His blade glowed a bright silver color, and rays of light blasted forth from it, illuminating the room. When the light cleared, Bahamut stood there, glaring at the soldiers. Hauken summoned Fenrir, and Faith summoned Ryuujin. Tetsuya laughed. "We'll give you a ten second head start. Better start running." The soldiers ran frantically up the stairs, but couldn't escape. The stairway was gigantic, and all three spirit beats fit comfortablly. Bahamut shhok the ground underneath the soldiers, sedning them all plummeting back down the stairs, and sliding down the ice Fenrir had left there. Ryuujin blasted hot flames onto the men, Bahamut sent a mighty blast of wind at them, creating a mighty tornadoe of flame around the soldiers. The fried bodies of the soldiers fell limply to the floor. Tetsuya jumped onto Bahamut's a back, Hauken grabbed onto Fenrir's neck and climbed on, and Ryuujin places Faith on his back, and the three creatures rode swiflty up the stair case. More men lay ahead, and they were all flabbergasted to see three mighty mythical creatures charge up the stairs at them. They readied their weapons, but they didn't stand a chance. Ryuujin knocked them up into the air, Bahamut encased them in a whirlwind, and Fenrir froze them Tetsuya yelled to Hauken and Faith. "Good job guys! This'll be done in not time at all. Hopefully Tomoya and Rieur will find the others so---" An arrow flew past Tetsuya's head, cutting his sentence short. Tetsuya growled angrily at the warrior who had attempted to strike him, and had Bahamut shot a concentrated blast of electrical energy at him.
21. Lio whistled in amazement at the city gates. If the gates were any foreshadowing of the city, this place would be beautiful. The doors swung open and he was amazed by the beauty and splendour of the city. He was completely oblivious to everyone in front of him. He walked along, almost as if in a trance. It was almost like walking into a dream world. The buildings were beautifully created, and the streets were very unlike any he had ever seen. The shopkeepers were all very friendly, and so were the civillians. In some mannerisms, this place appeared very much like his hometown. He shuddered at the thought of what his home had become. He shuddered at the thought of his home, or what was his home. He then took a moment to examine the other's who had gathered here. There were people of all ages grouped in this area. Form the elderly, to children who couldn't have been older than 13. Lio smiled. They've all got spunk, I'll give 'em that. He looked to his left and saw a giant man, at least 7 feet tall. He seemed angry, and was gripping his axe unhappily. Lio quickly walked in the opposite direction of the man. He was stopped, however, by a hand on his shoulder. An elder woman with crooked teeth was smiling at him, here eyes blank, quite literally. "Such a stapping young lad as yourself must be quite the warrior, eh? But even warriors as skilled as your probably are need potions and spells to defeath ferocious enemies." Lio looked quickly for a way to escape. Luckily, a voice came from behind him. "Your name, sir." A battle scarred warrior dressed in great battle armor was standing behind him with a spear. The old woman drifted away, and Lio smiled. Scary old broad. Glad this guy...came...for...uh..me.... He found that the man was leaning over Lio and wasn't looking very happy. "Your name. Sir." Lio smiled weakly. "Lio Garavan." The man looked down his list and grunted. He turned and began walking, then called back to Lio. "Follow me. I will show you to your quarters. Hurry!" Lio ran up behind the man and walked behind him. He heard an angry voice from behind him. "Dammit, I've ben waiting forever! I'm tired of this!" The sound of a bow being drawn caught Lio's ear. He quickly drew Balmung, cutting an arrow in half before it could reach the man before him. The man tilted his head back and smiled. "Not bad." He walked up to a room and opened it, allowing Lio to walk in. He smiled at Lio, the scar over his right eye moving up on his face. He threw him some papers and laughed. "Feel free to read that all later. I'd reccommend you took a look around the city whilst you wait. It's still light out, and Lord Yuri will probably nt summon you before then. If you need anything...Fight your way through the crowd and find me. By the way, I'm General Ridge." With that, Ridge exited. Lio threw his stuff down and exited his room, heading out the back of the building to see the less crowded area of the city. The city was much more beautiful without the bustling crowds. It was tranquil, and he could hear the children playing. He smiled and took in a breath of fresh air. He walked down with his hands in his pockets, but didn't take more than three steps before a ball came colliding with the back of his head. A young boy ran over, his hands behind his back. "Sorry, mister. Can I have my ball back?" Lio grinned and stood up, hadning the chld his ball. He watched the young child run over and play with his friends. Tears fell down his face as he watched the child play, as he watched the mother of the boy hug him, as the father leaned against the house with his friends and smoked his pipe. It was exactly like his home. "These people are all so happy..." He could see in his inner eye the city light on fire, he could see the woman and children screaming. He shook off the image and walked over to the father. He smiled at Lio and extended his hand. "Thank your for being patient with my boy, Lucas. My name's Scott." Lio smiled and took the man's hand, shaking it. "My name's Lio. Would you happen to know of a good place for me to grab some grub around here?" The man nodded and pointed down the street to a diner. He patted Lio on the back and grinned. "You bet I do. There's no better grub around here than that at Susie's diner. She's got the best food anywhere." One of Scott's friends sopke up. "And she's got quite the figure." They laughed and another one spoke up. "So do her waitresses." Lio laughed along with them and thanked them for their help. He walked down the cobblestons street and entered the diner. He chuckled to himself, amazed. The men had been right. All of the woman serving food were very attractive, and Susie was gorgeous. He walked up to a stool and grabbed a menu. Susie came over and grinned at him. "What can I do you for, honey?" Lio smiled. She seemed kind enough. This town was beginning to feel more and more like his home. He was even starting to consider moving here after he finished his journey. "How about some pancakes and bacon with orange juice? I'm famished." She smiled and grabbed his menu, putting her hand to his face. "Coming right up." She left Lio sitting their, a large smile spread across his face. He spun around on the stool and surveyed outside. The litle boy, Lucas, was chasing after a dog, that was apparently chasing after his ball. Lio chuckled and thought about his childhood.
22. Name: Kaine Maxwell-Kingsley Age: 24 Sex: Male Location: California, America Appearance: [Kaine] Kaine is a muscular man, but isn't overly so. His thin, yet strong figure allows him to be quite fast and agile. He stands at 6'2'' with black hair and slightly tanned skin, as he spends a lot of time outside with his dog. His eyes are a brilliant, enticing blue, and many women find that attractive about him. He usually wears this suit as his informal wear, and can always be found hiding his eyes with a pair of lighlty-tinted, black, sqaure-rimmed shades. He would give off the appearance of a buisnessman if he didn't naturally portray the aura of a friendly, regular guy. He wears a golden watch and gloves that cut off at his knuckles. Personality: Kaine is kind, compassionate, and an all around nice guy, but he?s afraid of commitment. Every relationship he?s been has ended horribly. Most women want him for his money, and others just want him for a good time. He?s never, however, been scornful or impolite towards them, remaining a gentleman to the very end. He?s very trusting as well, but he doesn?t befriend everyone. He usually has good judgment in people and can tell when they are sincere or not. He?s good at fighting, as well, because he learned quite a lot from his personal trainer. He prefers to exhibit his skills, but will if necessary. Kaine isn't cautious by nature, though. Some could say he's passive, but that would betray the real him. He merely likes for there to be peace with him and others, and for those around him to be happy. He lives a noble, chivalrous life and prides his integrity. Bio: Kaine was born into the wealthy Maxwell family, but wasn?t spoiled, for he wouldn't allow it. Though he could easily receive anything he desired at any time he desired, he did not do so. His parents frowned upon this. They constantly told him that since he was wealthy there was no need for him to do anything himself. Those with power have to use their power, he was told repeatedly. He did not care however. He thought it better of himself to do things on his own. He did not talk much with his parents and found that he was alone most of the time. He had only one true friend in the mansion, being his personal trainer. He taught him to fight, among many other things. He was also the first to alert Kaine about his life to come. As long as he lived in the shadow of his parents, he was told, he would always be used for their wealth. His school life was one he did not favor as well. Always the best private schools, with teachers who attempted to make him grow up to quickly. He took many jobs throughout his schooling career, unbeknownst to his parents and saved up every dollar he earned. He dreamed of escaping one day, having a life of his own where he could live outside of the lifestyle set for him. One day he got that chance. Kidnappers came to his house, and they stole him away during the night. They were relatively nice people, who just needed some many and had no other way of gaining it. Kaine told them that he would give them the money they desired on one condition. To allow him to live with him. Though it was an odd request, they gladly agreed. That was when he became a Kingsley. His parents looked for him for years, but to no avail. He was sure not to allow them to bring him back. He continued his schooling, but went to public school. He enjoyed it much more, and his grades even got better than they had been before. He breezed into and out of college, getting degrees in archeology and writing. He dated many women as well, but not many of his relatinships went so well. He dated less as time progressed, and did so with caution. He did well in dividing his time between his work and women. It was night at his house, when he was having a writer?s block on his latest project, when he received the e-mail. Though he was uninterested in the money prize, he thought it to be quite the adventure. Thus, he took a vacation and headed off. Greatest Desire: True love. Greatest Fear: Being pushed away, rejected, and death. ***** OOC: Yays! I was the first to sign-up. I changed a couple things, but for the most part it's still Kaine. Hope this is alright Kairi. EDIT: Changed physical appearance.
23. Name: Pietro Romano of Verona Age: 24 Gender: Male Appearance: [Pietro] Pietro is a muscular man, but not overly-so. His lean arms allow him to wield his two rapiers, the El Cid Swords, with great mastery. His thin figure allows him great speed and agility whilst he does battle. He combines momentum with his strength for truly devastating strikes. He stands at 6?1?? and has beautiful blue eyes. They?re usually covered, though, by a pair of thin, lightly tinted, square rimmed shades. His hair is black, his bangs fall over his eyes, and, in back, falls past his shoulders. He often spikes his hair. On his shades, as well as the back of his gloves, he has the symbol of the Archangel Gabriel for protection. His skin is tanned, for he spends much of his time hunting those who stray from the light in the light?s cover. Pietro?s usual attire consists of a black trench coat with silver lining, that covers a white sleeveless shirt and black slacks. His boots are steel-toed, and he wears a pair of gloved that cut off at his knuckles so that he can keep a good grip on his blades. On his pointer finger he wears a bronze, dragon-head ring, and his middle, a golden lion ring, and on his index, a silver wolf ring. Around his neck is a silver crux gemmata, a crucifix with thirteen embedded black onyx in it in it. Personality: Pietro is a man of God in every aspect. He has taken a vow of abstinence and temperance, and he tries desperately to keep his soul chaste, even though he has murdered many in his crusade under the lord?s name. He shows mercy to only those who are faithful, but deals justice however he needs to those who stray from God?s light. He says a silent prayer for those he kills, and gives them a proper burial, even if they are a demon or creation of the devil. He is by no means a man of solitude, though. He socializes with others quite often, an he is friendly with the other member of Iscariot. He makes many visits to church to seek forgiveness from the lord for the many sins he has committed for the good of mankind. He lives his life with nobility and respect, and keeps his integrity without question. Weapon: El Cid Swords- 32 ½?? long blade, 41?? in length and weighing only 3 lbs, 2ozs each, these rapiers are just the style of blade Pietro is preferable. The ivory hilt is a golden-bronze hue, and has miniature engravings entailing pictures of great catholic art. The blades has Iscariot written along it in script. He prefers to fight with both at once, an art he spent many years perfecting and can now do quite masterfully. His blades stay at his sides at all times, and even at his bedside whilst he sleeps, if he has the leisure to do so. History/Background: Pietro has been a child of the church since birth. His mother and father were priests at the local church in Verona, and he was raised under the will of God. He placed his faith before all else, save the family that raised him. His childhood was a relatively happy one, save the occasional drunk or criminal would stagger into God?s house not to repent, but to mock those who prayed to ?a delusion? the church had created. He always regarded such men with anger, but his parents taught him to forgive those men, for they were lost and needed God the most. At the age of 14, he found that he could not ever learn to completely forgive those men. During Mass on Sunday, two men like that came into the church and went all the way to the altar, pretending they needed to talk desperately with the father, Pietro?s father. They pulled out blades on him, and stabbed him to death. Then, from outside, a series of explosions went off around the building. The church went up in flames, and many were killed instantly. Pietro?s mother pushed from inside the church, just as the ceiling collapsed down upon the innocent people within. Pietro was sent into a state of blind heartache, and he traveled aimlessly for days. His travels brought him to another church, one very similar to his own. To his great disdain, and sorrow, was the two men who had single-handedly destroyed his life were going to destroy another family?s. He ran to take on the men on his own. A noble act, but a foolish one. He was beaten horridly, but still continued to fight. Finally he was knocked back into the dirt, and the front man drew his blade. He pressed it against Pietro's neck and sneered, tilting his head back, as it to talk to the sky and him at once. ?Where is your God now?? Pietro shut his eyes and prayed, waiting for the sword to puncture his throat, for him to feel the cold sting of death. Fortunately, it never came. When he opened his eyes, he found that both men had been knocked unconscious, and a large man stood over him, a large staff on his back. He extended his hand and spoke kindly to Pietro. His eyes danced with warmth, and he portrayed an aura of indulgence, righteousness, and safety. ?You are brave my son. Not many would give self-sacrifice in the name of the church. Come with me, and you will find those who share such a deep devotion as yours, those who pledge their lives to defeating the creatures of the night, to beating the pagans and heretics back to the devil they worship, and to administering God?s grace to the people on Earth.? Pietro smiled up at this man and took his hand. He was brought to a monastery in Verona where he found peace and a finally regained a feeling of home. He lived there, training and proving his worth so that he might one day join the ranks of the Thirteenth Order Iscariot. He finally did so, at the age of 22, when he saved his savior from a horde of lesser vampires. They has attacked the older man without warning, and had caused him great physical pain. Just as they were going to turn him into one of them, Pietro arrived and made quick work of them. He doused them all in holy water and used their dilemma as a distraction to impale them with stakes. He mentor looked up at him and grabbed his hand, placing a crux gemmata in his hand. ?You are now worthy of the Thirteenth Section. Do your duties with honor, you and the others are the only protection man has against that which he does not understand.? Snippet: Pietro glared at the man to his left. He had just smoked his third cigarette in 3 minutes. The man was obviously a chain smoker, and that was his business, but there was a small child nearby, suffering form the smoke. Pietro turned to the man, pulled the cigarette from his mouth, the rest from his pocket, and the matches as well. He threw the cigarettes into the sky and quickly lit a match and tossed it at the cigs. They went up in flames and landed in a trash nearby. Just as he put the matches away in his pocket, the man grabbed his collar. ?Those were mine, ******. Mine.? As he spoke his brought his face very close to Pietro, and for good reason. He was showing him his fangs. This man was a serial killer, and he sharpened his teeth so he could bite his victims neck and suck their blood. He called himself The Vampire. But Pietro knew of true vampires, and this man paled in comparison. He merely brushed the man away and walked off. Tonight was not a night for imposters. Tonight was a night for the truly evil. He walked into the forest behind the town. There had been rumor of a creature dragging off innocent people into a lair of sorts, and then that person would never come back. From the evidence he gathered from the town, Pietro could tell it was a vampire. It was just amazing it hadn't converted the whole town. He walked into the darkness of the woods, deeper and deeper into it's heart. Finally he reached his destination. He breathed in deeply. "How...Quaint." Bodies that had been ripped apart lined the trees, and blood stains soaked the ground. He said a silent prayer for those who had been destroyed by the monster. He then heard a rustle from above him. The Vampire imposter. He sighed angrily. That man had no idea what he was getting into. He jumped down and faced Pietro, his eyes bright with anger. His words were angry, but oddly musical. "No one turns their back to me! I'll rip the flesh off of your bones and drink your savory blood by the gallo---" He stopped as something leaked onto his shoulder. Saliva. Pietro cursed the man's foolishness. This vampire hadn't fed in days. And that man had just given him an excellent idea, as well as provided dinner. Pietro tackled the man out of the way as the creature came plummeting to the ground. The man screamed. "Holy ****!!! A real vampire!" He pushed Pietro away from him and ran quickly out of the woods. The vampire stood to fly after him, but Pietro wasn't going to allow it to feed. He took out bandages doused in holy water, the matches he had take from the murder, and lit the bandages on fire. It created a holy light, one that blinded the vampire. Pietro than put the fire out and drew his blades, talking calmly to the creature. ?I do not fear you. But you should fear me. I am Pietro Romano of he Thirteenth Section Iscariot. It is my sworn duty to ensure the safety of this town and the world, and to do so, I must eradicate those like yourself. Starting with you.? He moved like lighting, so swift that all the vampire knew of his strike was the searing pain of having a blade dipped in holy water slide through his chest. Pietro adjusted his glasses and turned back to the vampire. He jumped back swiftly as the vampire unleashed an onslaught of strikes at him. He was hit three times, and each wound bled profusely. Pietro wasn?t worried, though. He could take care of those later. ?Hmph. You have disgraced the lord enough by being present on his world. And you have now defiled me by touching me. Here?s your one way ticket to hell.? He ran up to the Vampire with amazing speed, but the vampire dodged it. It turned around to strike him, but was stopped cold. A stake had been driven into his heart. His body fell limply to the ground. Pietro put the stake into the pouch around his waist and grabbed his blade with both hands. He said a silent prayer and cut off the head of the Vampire. ?Amen.? Additional information: Pietro, though he has devoted his life to God and the Church, hopes to one day find true love. ***** OOC: I hope everything is in order. EDIT: I altered the Snippet, the weapon the men against the church used, Pietro's physical appearance and the tattoos. I hope it's alright.
24. Caine grinned at Kraven. His blood was boiling, and he was shaking with anticipation. He had been waiting for years to confron the man...no. Creature, that had made him what he was today. He drew Balmung and his grin broadened. "You remember this blade, don't you? Eh, Kraven? You hand-crafted it for me solely, so that I alone had acess to it's true strength." He offered his hand to his former rival, his former master. To his current enemy. Kraven grabbed his hand and stood up, walking over to grab his blade. Caine coughed. "I wouldn't do that, if I were you. Sin and I could easily send your blade back to hell. Oh, and we brought something for you." Sin walked forward and tossed the body of Kraven's messenger to the floor. Kraven smiled. "You become more and more like me as time passes, huh? But you should no your threat is an empty one. You couldn't dispose of me blade." Caine's grin dropped and he snarled. He clenched his fists and the earth rumbled. "I am the Earth Souvreign! How dare you speak lowly of my powers!" The earth beneath Kraven's blade split open with lightning-fast speed. KRaven's blade dropped and the Earth closed as fast as it had opened. Caine growled. "Couldn't dispose of your blade, hm---" Krvane burst out into laughter as he held his blade up and licked it's edge. Sin's eyes opened wide with suprise, but Caine merely laughed. "You've been sharpening you skills in the area of wind, hmm? Well, I'm interesting in discovering just how powerful you are, old friend." Kraven smiled and gripped the Sword of the Dark Dragon with both hands. "As am I. It always warms my heart to see one of my disciples excell." He leapt at Caine and came swooping down. Caine went for Balmung, but couldn't draw him. Sin had jumped in front and had raised an enormous wall of earth in front of them. Kraven's blade struck it and cut it in half. Through the crack in the middle, Caine came blasting through, transforming Balmung into it's true form. "Raaaggh!!" He raised Balmung high and brought it down over the head of his master. Kraven swiftly brought his sword up to parry the strike. Sin blitzed at Kraven and attempted to strike him with both wristblades, but he was sent flying into a stack of books by a mighty gust of wind. Kraven knocked away Caine easily. "Come now, dear student. Show me your true strength. I know you and your young apprentice must have more in you than that." Caine cracked his neck and swung Balmung over his head. Sin jumped over and drew his blade, swinging it around quickly as well. Caine yelled to Kraven. "You want to see our true power? Fine!" He charged at Kraven, still spinning Balmung at his side, destroying the ground underneath his blade. Sin did the same, on the opposite side. They both jumped at Kraven from different angles, but he merely sighed. "An attack from both sides? We tried that already, didn't we? You're dissapointing me. I'll merely dodge your stri---" The ground shot up underneath Kraven, launching his directly into both Sin and Caine's strike. He was knocked forcefully down into the ground, which shot up underneath him and bounced him again. He finally landed, but the whole ground was moving, almost as if it was the ocean. Caine and Sin stood there, unaffected. "Whaddya think Kraven? Good enough for you?" Kraven stood up, and his eyes were ablaze with intenisty. He raised his sword and struck the ground, sending a crack directly down the center of the library. The room shook violently, ready to collapse in on itself. Kraven tilted his head back and smiled. "Not bad. But you'll need to do better if you're going to defeat me.
25. Thayne turned to Jade and put his arm around her. He smiled happily. He hadn't seen her in ages, but it was the way things were. Between hunting vampires, with the exception of Sin, and keeping others from knowing what he was, he couldn't see her. For both of their safety. People tend to fear what they didn't understand. And no one understood them. "Regardless of the fact that he has to work off all that spare energy, he'll inevitably end up at the bar. Want to beat him there?" Jade smiled. "Sure. But aren't you...a little young?" Thayne laughed whole-heartedly. "Nah. Don't worry about it. I'm old enough to drink. Not that any of the bars around here worry about that anywho." He grabbed a pair of light tinted shades and his leather jacket and smiled at Jade. She grabbeed her coat and they left. They walked down the street, and saw two vampires attacking a young man, around his early twenties. He was torn to shreds and his blood was being devoured by the vampires. Thayne growled. "Fuckers..." Thayne took a step forward, but Jade grabbed his shoulder. He looked back to her, but she was staring ahead, mesmerized. Thayne turned and his jaw dropped. Sin had sprung form the darkness and mutilated one of the vampires. The other attempted to run, but Sin grabbed him and pulled out his heart before he could run. He ripped his head oof with his bare heands, then stood up and smiled. "My energies spent. Let's go for drinks." Thayne smiled and sighed. "Sure, buddy. But try not to drink to much. You're supposed to be human, and humans get drunk. And if you were human, you'd need to wake up early tommorow morning. We're heading out early in the morning."
