Originally posted by Mystic's Knight Um...originally.. the second everyone started talkin about other themes... I was sorta angered that no one listened to me in when I asked which of the two songs I mentioned that they liked better.... Well after reading... I like to see all this diversity in who likes what and why.....
heh, I'll answer the original question... I really love the OVA opening, Adesso e fortuna, I believe? And I think the Chronicles opening is sea of miracles...but I can't quite remember... Anyway, I prefer the ova theme, because I think it's gorgeous. Lovely music, and when I finally watched the anime and saw the translation, I fell in love all over again. ;) It has really nice lyrics, and I thought they were really sweet. ^-^ As for the Chronicles opening, I really like the song, but I would never place it over adesso e fortuna. ^^ Actually, I like the ending theme for the chronicles, Hikari no suashi much better. It's really fun-sounding, and I love the whistling in the beginning... heh... :p

I got into anime when I was in I guess second grade and my Korean friend got me into Sailor Moon. I didn't get it on TV at my house, so I only watched it at hers, but I still loved it. After a while, I slowly forgot about it, until in 5th or 6th grade we got CN and I saw toonami. I started watching Sailor Moon over again, Gundam Wing, and I became obsessed with DBZ. What really kicked off my love for anime was when I wandered into Media Play and saw Escaflowne on VHS, and I remembered I had loved that show when it was on Fox, so I started buying all the tapes. Then I bought more and more anime until I became really addicted. ;) I also got hooked on manga when a friend showed me her Fushigi Yugi manga, and I fell in love with manga, too.... ^^
Originally posted by Utena_Tenjou The last episode and the episode about Momiji's parents are so sad! ;_; I cry when I watch anime way to much. T_T I noticed that Torhu either spent most of her time with Yuki, and the manga was longer then the anime was. >< I hope they come out with an OVA fpr the last few chapter of the manga, it's sopposed to be about Shigure.
The episode about Momiji was one of the saddest ones.... I really broke down sobbing, probably the hardest I've ever cried over anime. ....it just broke my heart... :bawl: It was really sad when they showed Tohru with her mom in the hospital in that one, too. I was just waiting for Tohru to hug Momiji after that, I'm glad she finally did. ;) I wanted to hug Momiji myself...
Originally posted by Utena_Tenjou Fruits Basket is good. I've watched it about 7 times now, and I'm not tired with it. ^-^ The characters make the anime worth watching. My favorite characters are Kyou and Shigure. It was really one of the most emotional animes I've seen, I still cry during the last episode. ;_; It's so sad and sweet. Everyone should see it. ^.^ I've also seen the dubs, it's decent, funi always comes out with decent dubs from what I've heard. (DBZ, Yu Yu Hakusho, Inu-Yasha?) The only character that was horrible was Yuki. "Hi, I'm yuki, and I just hit puberty."
Yeah, the last episode really was sad... I cried, too. T.T I felt that Tohru kinda chose Yuki over Kyo, which was really sad since I love Kyo! ^-^ The ending suggested she kinda chose both of them, but almost the whole series she half-ignored kyo a lot of time... Poor Kyo-kun.... V.V

I really want to go to an anime con, but like you said, there aren't too many in Florida. ^^; I think they had one in Orlando or something, but it was too late by the time I found out.
Originally posted by Starlit_Neko ^-^ I went on to ebay and found all the epidodes for Fruits Basket on DVD only for $30. It's in perfect condition too. I hope I can order it today. *crosses fingers*
If it's the Hong Kong bootlegs, they are cheap, but they have terrible subs. T.T They don't get the names right until episode 12... I hate having to read "chomore" instead os "Sohma"...it's just irritating.
Originally posted by Endymion Most people look at this as: "Oh no! FUNimation is doing the dubbing!" I prefer to think of this as: "I hope it's being subtitled!" I don't believe in buying fansubs and I don't download fansubs online and I don't live in Japan or understand Japanese, so my only hope is that FUNimation decides to subtitle their series' instead of only dubbing them. Has FUNimation already started selling the tapes/DVDs for this show?
Yeah, it's subtitled, too. The first DVD has been released with the first 6 episodes already. I heard there are even 2 different subtitled to choose from, the English version subtitled and the japanese translation subtitles. I find that rather interesting...
Originally posted by TheDarkOtaku I heard it was pretty funny. I might pick it up since I like romance comedies. Anyways, Doesn't Funimation do the dubbing? I was just wondering...:)
Yes. *solemn silence* I haven't seen the dubbed version yet, but I downloaded the voice clips for Kyo and Tohru, and I find them terrible. Kyo's is the worst... It sounds almost opposite his personality... T.T
Originally posted by sweetreyes I loved Sailor Moon but we in the US didn't get a chance to see how it ends..I know that it's not over and I hope and pray that the comp. allows us to see the end! If anyone knows about a US release of the final season(s) [Sorry can remember which season they ended it at here]. PLEASE let me know!!! THANKX
Sailor Stars is currently the last season. I heard the company has no plans at the moment to bring it over to the US. I think they were going to, but for some reason they stopped dubbing and editing it. It's a real bummer, because stars is one of the best seasons. ;) I suggest finding it fansubbed if you really want to see it, because you could be waiting a good long while before seeing it officially in the states. U.U

I like Yoh and um...doh, I can't remember his name. The psycho doctor that controlled the skeletons... I also liked Horo Horo. He's cool. ^-^

Ah, Shaman King! I love Shaman King! I've only read the manga so far, but I love the story line and characters. It's a great series. ^-^
-
I liked the series up to volume 5 in the manga... I think the series is really funny, but it was becoming a bit too repetitive for me... It was just getting a little old.
Originally posted by Coronet Wow, cartoon network's up to the Noh Mask already? The next one, is Episode 12: Tatari Mokke and the Little Poltergeist(Tatari Mokke to Chiisaina Akuryou). This one's kinda cute. I didn't like it that much and I thought it was pretty freaky. It takes place in Kagome's time, but Inuyasha shows up. Yayness. Keep a look out for episode 13 and don't miss that episode! Out of all the 90 episodes I've seen this far, episode 13 is one of my favorites! This is the first episode where inuyasha turns into a human, so it's obviously worth your while.
Oh yeah, I remember when Inu-Yasha first goes human in the manga. That was my favorite part in the series. ^-^ I'll have to make sure and watch that one...

I've seen all of Fruits Basket. It's a truly good anime. ^-^ Very cute and funny. I loved it. ;)

I've read a little bit of Wish, and I dunno, it just didn't interest me that much... Has anyone ever read Kare Kano? I was reading my collection the other day, and I remembered just how much I love it. It really is a great romance manga. I think Tokyopop's releasing it in 2003.. U.U
Originally posted by AnimeGurl In want to know when they will have Sailor Moon back again. They said that they will show it in like August something, Sailor Moon R, but they never did. I thought that it was true too. They skipped like 16 episodes, including Day Of Destiny. I can't wait until they show Sailor Moon R again, I'm wating for Alan, when he plays his flute.Last time on Cartoon Network, they played A Super Sailor moon movie, it was good. It was a Toonami movie I guess that's what they call it. :)
They were playing the original Sailor Moon, and they just stopped it right in the middle.... That was very disappointing. The TV schedule showed them playing R, but they never did. U.U I had to go out and buy all the R tapes instead... >_> I love the Doom Tree saga. ^-^
Originally posted by vegeta rocker I read the Manga Stars, but didnt see it on tv. I liked the manga a lot, more depth in story.
Yeah, and the manga didn't seem nearly as repetitive... It was much more tolerable than the anime to just sit down and read/watch...
Originally posted by Endymion Big Dub Edit In the manga and original Japanese version of the anime, Neptune and Uranus aren't related. They never come right out and say they're homosexual, either. That's just something that you conclude on your own. The dubbed English version decided to change the dialogue so that they kept calling each other cousins... But you probably already knew that and I misunderstood what you were saying. I'm just not sure.
Yup, they really are lovers... There are serious hints about it in Stars, too. They have very... suggestive dialogue, and it's quite obvious they're lovers.

Anime anyone know a good book No, I know what i'm talking about
amiboshi replied to Sora's topic in Otaku Central
Oh yeah... I *cough* misread Sora's post a bit... lol. Yeah, FY has a bit of adult content every now and then, but it's not too bad. I can't think of any other fantasy romance mangas I've read and liked... -

Fushigi Yuugi is fanstasy romance, too. I think it's more serious than Magic Knight Rayearth, and MKR hardly has any romance at all... -
You mean her dubbed voice? Because I don't think her Japanese Seiyuu changed, but I could be wrong... I hate it when they change the voices, too. I loved R. ^-^ I bought almost all the tapes... I can't find the last one now, but I have the rest. I loved that season, too.

I love Sailormoon! ^-^ I really loved Stars... That was a really great season... And the manga's really good too. ;)

I've heard of Lupin the third. It's about a theif, I believe... I wasn't very interested in it. Didn't like the animation style much either...

My favorite anime music vid. would have to be either The Kare Kano vid. with the Cure-Friday I'm in love or Fushigi Yuugi with Mariah Carey's Closer... I just love those two. ^-^

Of course inner beauty is important, I mean, even if someone if gorgeous on the outside, but you hate their character on the inside, then you wouldn't be able to stand them. I also think the element of physical attraction is important, because I think that's partially what love is. Often when you get to know a person, and they have inner beauty, or you like their character, that person doesn't look so bad on the outside anymore, so... :p
