Baernuk looked into the evening sky. Even from the surface of Rodia, he could see the yuuzhan vong fleet. There were millions of tiny glints in the sky, each signaling a dropship that was loaded with bloodthirsty warriors intent on slaughter. He stood in the center of a city, which seemed devoid of life. Most had fled. He would fight alone, if need be. Baernuk knew that he could not rely on the Republic. They were worthless against the yuuzhan vong. Almost more worthless than the jedi, who couldn't even use their precious Force aginst the horde. The yuuzhan vong seemed to fight even harder when they knew there was a jedi in the ranks of the enemy. He himself was not a jedi, no. He was merely a refugee who had reached the end of the road and chose to fight. The orbital bombardment would begin soon, he figured. Most of the people who were going to leave had left already, and the ones who were left were either mad, looters, or planning on fighting. Baernuk himself had a ship stored away in a bunker, just in case he made it that far. He knew in his heart though, that he wouldn't. This was going to be a long, long day... ----------------------- Sign-ups The goal of this is to fight through and survive the Battle of Rodia. Endless hordes of enemies await. The problem with horrible timing...

If You Could Fly, Who Would You Spit On?
Farto the Magic replied to DeadSeraphim's topic in General Discussion
You missed the part where I said I'd spit on anyone who would spit on a dog. You're not one of them, are you? :p Actually when it comes down to it, why bother with spit? If I'm going to get someone, I'd use something like a super soaker and really nail them. Now that would be fun! :catgirl:
I did not miss that part...I chose to pretend it never happened. And yes...I spit on dogs every single day. I enjoy nothing more than ruining some unsuspecting dog's day. -
If You Could Fly, Who Would You Spit On?
Farto the Magic replied to DeadSeraphim's topic in General Discussion
:shifty: Absolutely no one. I'd enjoy flying, but spitting? I'd drop water balloons so long as I wasn't too far up since someone did that on a bridge and it cracked the windshield of a car going underneath. So I wouldn't want to hurt someone. But to spit? Nope.
Psh. I'd spit on Aaryanna. Why, you ask? Anyone who would deny pseudo-infinite power doesn't deserve it. Bwa ha ha ha! It's made up of three blades that move in wide swings, much like an electric bread knife. Augmented rifle: a basic slugthrower rifle, with an advanced scope and explosive rounds. Likes: Irony. The feeling of superiority one gets by fighting a weaker opponent. Dislikes: The Force: its a cheap alternative to skill. Quirks: Reloading his gun. Polishing Toregh. Likes to tell stories. Bio: Rhuka is a hunter, and always will be, until his dying day. He used to be a big-game hunter, but moved on up to advanced prey, via bounty hunting. Slavery: Trying to atone, but why now?
Farto the Magic replied to Rachmaninoff's topic in General Discussion
Dudes, if we really think about it, we've all been wronged by someone, historically. Its called life, and it moves on. It forgets things that lose relevance. The people whose ancestors were slaves should thank their lucky stars that they aren't anymore, and don't live in Africa, since it seems to be hell on earth at the moment. My family is Dutch/Friesian, and we've been screwed over too. First the Romans, then the Holy Roman Empire, then the Spanish. I hold no ill-will towards the descendants of the people involved. If I met anyone, and knew that their family had screwed over mine, my reaction would be the same as any other...except I would stab them. No...I couldn't stab anyone. -
Ok, so me and a friend just got back from a hiking trip in the Badlands in South Dakota. While we were hiking, we would see teeth and bones and stuff sticking up from the sand, so we would take them to my car. Its illegal to collect fossils from there, so we knew that we were going to turn them in. We started finding stuff on Friday, and intended on turning them in on Sunday, which was the last day of the trip. Until then, we were going to gawk at them, because when was the last time we were going to see a...whatever that thing is? So, we collected three specimens, with the intent of turning them in on Sunday afternoon. On Sunday morning, we got caught by a park ranger, who took them and gave us a court date. Yeah. This sucks ***, no? Now I have to miss a day of school and drive five-hundred miles to a court, where they'll try and decide how much money in fossils we stole, and how much we would have to pay. No jail time, just money. So, by collecting the **** things, with the intention of handing them over, we've been screwed over by bad timing. Any advice?

Alright, I think the question here isn't "what's wrong with being a virgin," but "what's wrong with sex." Needless to say, without sex, none of us would be here, so it is a natural and generally kick*** ordeal. But personally, I stick to the idea of utilitarian sex. I ain't ready to make babies, so I ain't ready to make with the sexing. I guess the thing is: procreation is for reproduction. Does your friend's sister want to have a baby, or good time?

Suave, Raiyuu. Very suave. If she likes him, she shouldn't talk to him about them dating. Not just yet. If she does talk to him and he has no prior warning, he'll likely freak out and say no. She should spend time with him and drop in totally obvious hints that she likes him. If he's responsive, he'll ask. If he's responsive and doesn't ask, she should be more obvious. After that, she should drop him like he's hot, because he's either a coward or an idiot. Teenage boys are also notoriously slow-witted in the female department. One of the massive penalties associated with being male.
It's not that I'm unwilling to let him see her. He spent a week with her back in July. But She's two and hasn't seen him 8 months . What I offered to let him do was spend a few hours with her on weekened to slowly get her used to him again. However he refuses to do anything but argue for his own way and threaten to call a psychologist for her. He doesn't seem to realize that ripping her from where she lives and having her stay with someone who is a complete stranger to her could be traumatic then she'd definately need that psychologist.[/color']
I totally see where you're coming from. I also see where he's coming from. I mean, he hasn't seen her in ages. But, he should've been patient, rather than...pushy. Maybe the military has caused him to be more reactionary, and anger was the reaction for being denied his request. I'm not saying that you are wrong. You were totally right, but I think something must have addled his mind.

Vegeta, keep that man dumped. You don't need the drama again. Chances are, it'll happen again. Chibi, if your ex was in the military, he hasn't seen his daughter in a long time. I understand that she would probably freak out about spending two weeks with someone who's virtually a stranger to her, but I think you were both being unreasonable. There should have been some way that both parties could be happy...and he sounds like kind of a jackass. I mean, wishing death on someone? Both parties were in the wrong, but he was in the wrong-er. That's just my view. As for my crazy ex, I found out during the relationship that she likes women...like that. It was not a turn-on and ultimately caused the relationship to crumble. Its kind of funny now, after it all happened. But, when you fall off a horse...

Dude. Fists and teeth. That's the way to go. Nobody suspects that you'll tear their throat out with your teeth and when you do, their reaction is priceless. Trust me! ;) This is funny. But seriously, no one could withstand a good old maul. Just a chunk of steel on a stick. Smash some heads. Good times...

Advice Requested (relationship issues)
Farto the Magic replied to Farto the Magic's topic in General Discussion
Just so everyone's caught up. Nothing has happened. They're sitting in a relationship purgatory, where nothing gets accomplished. Its draining both of them and all of their friends. All of their friends are attempting to persuade them otherwise, but none have succeeded. (My arguement was so convincing, people who hadn't even heard it agreed.) Both see through rose-tinted glasses. I'm mentally and emotionally drained. My frustration knows no bounds. No one thinks it'll work between them. Some even suspect that she knows deep-down that it won't work, but is hellbent on dating him nonetheless. He's still moving at a glacial pace and she still sees him for what he's not. I'm at the end of my rope. The only option I can think of is to push them together and hope for failure. Any other options anyone can think of? -
Advice Requested (relationship issues)
Farto the Magic replied to Farto the Magic's topic in General Discussion
This is good adivce, and its helpful, but if I talk to him, it will obviously alert him and spur him to action. In such a scenario, I probably lose a friend, and definately the girl. So, talking to him is out of the picture. He and I were loosely associated before, and he's been increasingly hostile (and annoying). He only ever talks to me when he wants to have me add on to one of his inane jokes. Somehow though, she new sees either of the two traits. -
Alright. I'm fairly certain you guys would be bored with this sort of thing, but I'm going to put it out there for the sake of hopefully getting advice. Alright, there's this girl (there always is) who I shall call Sue. There's this guy (how cliche) who I will call Andy. Ok. Andy and I have been friends for over a year and a half. I heard at the beginning of the year that he kind of liked Sue. I was cool with it, since I hadn't the foggiest idea who she was. He and a friend (Bob) hung out with Sue and her friends throughout the year. Around the time I got back from Christmas, I started casually hanging out with a group of people that she hung out with. I noticed that she's something of an artist. I'm something of an art critic. I casually critiqued some of her pictures, and I realized that I was beginning to like her. I told myself that we would only be friends, because Andy likes her. I couldn't do that to a friend. So I still hung out with her and we got along great. Here's the thing. After a couple weeks of telling myself no, I gave in and told myself yes. I thought that Andy had gotten over his crush and I was going to make a move. Then I noticed that he kept hanging around her, almost like her was guarding her or something. Sue got all confused, because she thought that Andy was leading her on, but she needed some kind of sign. I could see that he was going to make his move, and I dreaded the day. The day happened to fall on Valentine's Day. Andy sent Sue a rose. She went head-over-heels. She asked all of her close friends (about 5, including me) if she should go talk to him, because he was showing signs, but wasn't doing anything. All of her friends said "GO FOR IT." I told her the opposite, but I seem to be ridiculously persuasive, especially where dating is concerned (but mostly because they have nothing in common). Regardless, she gave him many obvious hints. Incredibly obvious hints. He didn't catch on to any of them. Nothing has happened between the two of them. Andy knows that I'm out for himself, and treats me accordingly, though he's still nice towards me in private company. In public, he's semi-hostile towards me, which is a suicidal move at best. Sue and I are still good friends, and I think she may like me. I'm not sure about her feelings for Andy, but spring break is in a couple of weeks, and I'm fairly certain that she'll totally lose interest in him in that time. Most of the people I've talked to have pondered why she likes him. My friend Evan basically told me that he doesn't deserve her, since he's basically wasted the opportunity. My ex-girlfriend, who is a flaming lesbian (she was that way before, and don't ask) and an adamant supporter of Andy+Sue is also starting to question him. This is the point where I start asking questions. What should I do? Do I betray a friend, or let him keep trying? Friends of females? Any advice as to how to go about it (if you think I should continue)? In general, is this situation screwed up, or what? Basically, anything is good. Any reaction or advice or similar experience is welcome. Thanks.

In my limited experience, tae-kwon-do hasn't proven itself an effective fighting style on its own. Coupled with judo, its owwie, but the idea of kicking someone is flawed, as one could easily grab the other person's leg and twist to get them on the ground. Is my observation correct, or do people learn amazing moves as they get more experienced?

I like fights. I don't know martial arts. I know how to beat on people with martial arts. See, I'm 6'2" and I weigh about 200 pounds. I have no arm strength. Most fights begin with a friend talking tough, and I talk tough in return. Bear in mind that these are all girls. But they aren't regular girls. They're tough. They have muscles. The fact that they're girls means that I won't throw punches and let them tap out, as my style is wrestling. See, I pace for a bit, sizing them up, then shoot out at them and then go for the legs. I have crazy reflexes. One of them, my ex, I always used to put in a grapple where her leg was locked in in one of my elbows, and her head was in the other elbow. Then I draw my arms closer, until she taps out. The other girl was shorter, and the fight ended up on the ground, with her grabbing me around the neck, so I flung her off like a rodeo bull. Girls fight dirty. They scratch and punch and kick and one time, one bit my nipple. They are cruel, and the fact that I am both merciful and gentle marks me as chivalrous enough. These girls want to fight. I've fought guys, but they always go for some crazy choke hold, where I can't breathe. I was in one for five minutes, biting his knee and breathing wee bits of air.
Don't dress up different if you don't dress that way.
You know what they say: every girl's crazy for a sharp-dressed man. It doesn't hurt to pimp yourself out once in a while. It shows that you clean up nicely. One word of advice: if you take a girl to the dance, they don't ALWAYS want to dance. Sometimes both of you can just as good a time talking. Besides, that way, she can get to know who you are. Also, don't be nervous. If you're calm and keep your tongue in check (avoid saying that which does not need to be said), she should have a wonderful night and you'll have a foothold into a relationship.

Paranoia and mental disorders.
Farto the Magic replied to Farto the Magic's topic in General Discussion
Wow, the problem went away. But at the same token, its back and worse than ever. I got the results back and, though I did alright, the school is considering suspending my registration for the next semester. The problem though, is that I did badly on one of my exams and it drug my grade down. I talked with the professor and he was willing to let me retake it. This would bring my grade to an acceptable level. I'm kind of freaking out right now because my parents were sympathetic, but didn't even try to throw in some encouragement or something and its really not helping. Just when I thought everything was going good, it went to crap. Then, when I had begun to gain control of myself, my mom came in and basically shot down most of my hope and brought all the fears to the surface again. God, I hate this ****. [Edit] In light of recent matters, I have been given the option of writing a letter of appeal with an 80% chance of being re-accepted. -

I think I'm suffering from paranoia. No one's out to get me, but I keep thinking that I flunked all of my college exams. I'm seriously freaking out. I took a test today. I did swimmingly, I know I did. But the thing is that I keep imagining tht I did horrible. And if this string of exams is less than acceptable, I'm kicked out of college. Then what will I do? This has been my thought process for the past few days. I'm always tense, can't seem to enjoy things, and have an imposing sense of dread, even though I know I did well. I'm starting to think that I'm losing my mind. During my test, I had to look at a bone and tell what it is and what its from (I was right about it being a lumbar vertebrae from a whale.) and I talked to it for fifteen minutes. I'm normally weird in the usual sense. You know, nothing too out of the ordinary, just odd. But now I'm fairly certain I'm going nuts. Aside from the talking to the inanimate object thing, I basically sat there, laughing, for ten minutes during the test...about nothing! Aside from being paranoid, I'm going mad too. I guess, all I can do is ask for help. Does anyone know how I can stop freaking out? It would have to be a solution involving just my lonesome, as christmas break is starting and my friends are going home. Thank you for your help and for tolerating the rantings of a madman.

Farto the Magic replied to YoukaiAlchemist's topic in General Discussion
I dunno, flames don't kill them. They eventually burn to death, but it takes a good long time, during which they're walking effigy. And you burn better than they do. I would choose a museum. Stone walls, high windows, wide open spaces. No going wrong there. Besides, if there are ancient weapons there, I can arm up better. Currently though, I'm still set. Shotgun, longsword, chainmail; can't go wrong. -
What's your geekiest purchase?
While walking past some shops in Hot Springs, Arkansas I saw something I absolutely had to have.
