I've been watching Phantom of the Opera on HBO a lot this month and I really ahve to say its an elaborate musical with stunning acting and music to match. The only thing I didn't like about the movie was that the main actress didn't speak up much, I had to change the volume of the tv a lot just to hear what she was saying when she wasn't singing.

If I'm in the best mood ever its usually "Pump It" by the Black Eyed Peas, but if i'm just in one of those days where I'm daydreaming or just not paying attention or just feeling both good and bad then it would have to be "Dream On" by Areosmith. Good times :animesmil

Hello, I would like to know if someone could make me a new and updated version of my Resident Evil banner please. I like the one I have now but I'd rather have it fitted with newer pictures of the characters and better color and such. I'll post some pics of the people who I want on my banner (last time I didn't have the material and the person made it out of scratch for me (thank you)): Jill Valentine and Chris Redfeild on the Left of Banner: (Only if you can cut them out together, if not then just have Ada and Jill on the Left) Jill Valentine Clair Redfeild and Leon on teh Right of Banner: Clair Leon I'd like for the caption to change as well: "We are S.T.A.R.S The Best of the Best In kicking Umbrellas A**"

Yeah, this is an interesting topic. I was watching the protest on TV and was surprised by how many hispanic and other immigrants were in different states. I'm Puerto-Rican but born on American soil, but people ask me why I'm not martching in the protest and I gave them two answers: 1. I dont feel like traveling to a different state to protest over something 2. I dont think it'll solve anything With my responce to #2, i honestly dont think its going to resolve anything. People have their views on immigration and some of them are really ignorant. Not everyone is going to just open up and give a hug to the next person who comes into the state who cannot speak English. But thats the way people are, not all but most of them. I'm not saying I dont approvce of the protest or anything like that, those people who are marching right now are concerned for their families and friends and possible themselves and they have the right to express it however they want to. I'm just saying (in my mind) that I dont think it's going to wi the hearts of the people so easily. Now then, KatanaViolet mentioned something that really caught my attention when she said "The American Dream" and "The Land of the Free". Pretty much the U.S is all that and more, that is why people flock over here to achieve that, no matter what thier social or historical backrounds are or where they come from. If it's not the "Land of the Free", then what is it? The land of the ignorant and selfish?? Not to mention you all have to remember, the caucasian populations are immigrants as well, so just remember that. The only ones who are not are the Native Americans, so stop thinking your the supiror people and remember you all moved over here from Europe.....pwned!

It was a hard choice for me between Water and Light, but in teh end I had to go with Light. Its not the most powerful element against the others (water, earth, fire, etc.), but it is the best defence against Dark which is always a plus for me :animesmil

I only have one I can think of from the movie chicago which makes me laugh my *** off every time Queen Latifa sings the number *she rocks at musicals :D * "If you want my gravy Pepper my ragout Spice it up for Mama She'll get hot for you" ~Chicago

At first it seemed something I would watch when it came out, but when I actually watched it I was just staring at teh TV asking myself, "Why would MTV make another crappy show about how rich spoiled people complain about their stupid little problems??" Its just like the "My Sweet 16" show, really crappy and everyone wants to beat up the people on there.....little drama brats.

I had to choose between cats and Foxes, and it came down to being Foxes. There my favorite because their cunning, quick, very sneeky and slick as well. Not to mention their cute :catgirl: , but their my favorite and one day I shall have one as a pet and call him Scubbles!!!

Strange nicknames given and received and how did you get them
Shwa replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in General Discussion
Hmm, my friends only stuck with a few for me. Shwa': This is the one I use the most on MySpace or just anywhere. I got it when a co-worker and friend of mine could pronouce the french name for Francis and so they shortened ot to Shwa'. I thought it was catchy and stuck with it for 2 years ^.^ Diego: Spanish Class Sophmore Year, good times Mech: Use to be my name at the arcade I worked at years ago. I would be the only one who was able to fix the DDR/ITG pads and became its mechanic, hence the name you see. -
Pitt Bulls are naturally agressive and only some can be tamed or at least trained to be nice. If someone gets bitten by one well what do you expect?? The trainer knows the consequences of having one and some dedicated trainers/owners teach their pets not to bite. Others use the breed for protection or just to show off that they have a Pitt Bull.

My boyfriend is caucasian (sp?) and I'm Puerto Rican, so far things have been going very well between us. We've both been able to learn something from one another and we've been on a total of 6 dates and continue to do so. We also learn about our different clutures in more depth than what other people say and such. Interracial dating is fun and educational at the same time :catgirl:
I think it's worth pointing out that the information I mentioned earlier is not "fake". Clearly, human sexuality (like "love") is not something that is easily quantifiable. And there is much that isn't understood, on a scientific basis. But at this point, the evidence not only suggests a biological link, but there are some specific indicators as to what the various causes might be (not just of homosexuality, but of all sexual orientations). I don't think that doctors and scientists have an axe to grind on that issue. But those who have a moral agenda clearly do - and it is that type of science (or psuedo-science), which is dubious. At the end of the day though, none of that matters anyway. There's simply no excuse to treat people differently or to discriminate against people based on any of these factors - factors which are beyond the control of the individuals in question. Discriminating against someone based on a part of themselves that they cannot change is not only ignorant, it's also cruel. Surely no matter what someone's belief system tells them, the underlying message should be about tolerance and general respect for the dignity of all human beings.
Its the basic premis that, as quotes from a very good cartoon show that really gets downt o the nitty gritty: "People fear what they do not understand" ~Charles Xavier Not everyone can be as tolerant of the homosexual community and they cannot keep their feelings to themselves if they feel something is bothering them about the topic. They act on their feelings and insticts and what they were tought as they were brought up in society. I'm one who believes that if you can find some way to explain or "find out" why we like the same sex then go for it, but everyone has their different opinions and it would seem like it's going to be a never ending battle of right and wrong. I believe its basic instincts personally, but for those who thinik its a chemical inbalance or just our of plain curiosity then prove us wrong.
Poor Nomura... getting ganged on by everyone. Anywho, reading what everyone has said so far... I believe that miracles can happen to anyone, no matter what religion they are. God loves everyone. Period. He wants to show all of us this because He wants us all to believe in him. Sure, maybe we can't see him or we can't feel Him.. but that doesn't mean he's not real. Why do you think so many miracles have happened to many people? Some might say it's just coincidence or good luck, but sticking to what I believe in, I agree that God has helped everyone all the way. Also, some might question, saying, "Then why do people go to Hell, even if they didn't do anything bad?" Okay, well... God is our Father... but He's also out Judge. Just because you haven't done anything bad... doesn't mean that you'll automatically go to Heaven. God's done everything for us... so why can't we pay Him back? In the Bible, in Revelation 20:11-15, it talks about the Book of Life. Basically, if your name isn't in there... then you don't go to heaven. Sorry that it's so serious, but that's the truth in my religion. People can't just sugar-coat it and says "everyone's going to heaven!" I mean, sure... that would be nice... but, everyone can't go into heaven. Let's say that if you did something horrible that was against the Ten Commandments, and didn't even believe in God, then why should He allow you in His Paradise?? Now, if you ask for forgiveness with all your heart and ask Him to come into your life, then that's a different story.... All in all, everyone can't go into Heaven. Plain and simple. But hey, I could be wrong... there might not even be a God and we might just be reincarnated. But... until I see that with my own eyes and Death, I'm sticking with what I believe in all the way and continuing to talk to God. BTW, totally happy for your friends, Nomura. It was an awesome miracle that God gave them. I'll be praying for them! n.n
God made the Jewish people suffer for countless years in the dessert after escaping Egypt, he wanted Moses to sacrifice his son to "test" his love for him (but stopped him later). Had a helping hand in the collapse of the Tower of Babble, and pretty much stood back as humanity waged war over his exsistance.....I'm startng to think that God hates everyone and not love them, its only superstition that people believe in luck and such, I highly doubt that God follows everyone around and grants the their good luck wishes. About the heaven issue and only certain people getting in, what a prick. Those who believe should be able to get into the Holy Land without being turned away if their names are not in the list, thats just being descrimatory to his poeple. The "almighty God" needs to get over the Adam adn Eve thing and move on already Everyone (exept newbornes) has broken the Ten Commandments by Now, there's no escape in it, we brake the rules without knowing it. Whether it be by not honoring our mothers and fathers to having premartial sex and simple lying, so on and so on. Even the Pope has broken the commandments before he became one with the curch. If he wont let you into heaven for believeing then why would he if we all have broken the commandments?
Last night...My friend and his sister were spinning off the road and into a tree. The tree did not hit the car, but if it did, it would've surely killed him and his sis. This morning, the first thing I noticed was the cross necklace around his neck.. :animesmil Good thing they were headed to church when they had the wreck, ,in front of the principle's house I might add...and exrta good thing they were christians. Heh, I know they were praying extra hard that night! Even if they weren't Christians, I know I would've asked God to save me that night, LOL. Yep, I do believe in Christ, God etc. I'm a christian alright, and I'm not changing!
Not to sound mean or anything, but that just sounds like a series of events that could have happened to anyone in the wold, religious or not. The fact that he wore the necklace proves he believe, but its not a sign that it saved his life and the life of his sister. Nor the fact that their really religious, just a chain of events and they were able to escape it wwithout being harmed. its was just a 50/50 chance and they got the good 50.

Yeah, a 4 to 5 year gap shouldn't be much of a problem, and there's that long time for you to continue to grow and get to know one another to make the relationship much stronger and such. But I'd have to say that a 6+ would be stretching it, no matter how nice the person is, there's always those who take advantage of someone and it leads to something really bad. I just found the guy of my dreams and he's going to be 20 this month, and I'm going to be 18 in May, not much of a difference there and its still being safe.

YAYAYAYA finally then end of High School is approaching, it seems like a lifetime but now we get to graduate and sleep in some more during the week :animesmil Not to mention there's a lot of things to look forward to when High School is over, like Senior Week and finding a good paying job (better that original), also the joy that going to college is the best thing that could ever happen :animesmil Yay Class of 2006!!!!
Im a christian to. What i hate the most is when people talk shiznit about god.
Well, not everyone likes the "God" you like and actually read the bible and see how much PMS he really has. I'm Catholic but haven't went to church since i was in 6th grade, I believe but I'm also one who thinks outside the box and dares to challange the whole God thing. Let me tell ya', if you actually look through thr bible thoroughly and not the famous passages, then your going to find some interesting things that contradicts itself and how modern people who follow its teachings. God is fine to believe in and all, but really arguments over a supernatural being who just suddenly decided to do all this (creation and such..) and take it back is kind of hard to believe in.

God what is everyone with the depression?? I'm not one of those people who are bouncing off the wall "Happy-Go-Lucky", but I still like to think that my strongest emotion is happiness. It's the best thing to have ot to look forward to in the day ahead. Even if something bad is happening that doesn't go your way then you could look forward to something else that'll put a smile on your face no matter how small the matter is :animesmil

I dont know, but it could be that Rouge can basically kill Bobby if they have contact to long, that might be why he dumped her, lol. I'm excited to know that Halle Berry is still playing the role as Storm in the movie, there were rumors that she wouldn't/couldn't continue in this movie for some reason, but yayayayayay!!! Anyways, I'm excited to see that Beast, Juggernaut, Shadowcat, and Angel are added into the movie. To be honest I thought that Beast was going to be added into X2, but this works out just fine. :catgirl:

Morning (here in Maryland) ^.^ Anyways, my AP Psychology class just did a segment on the mentally ill and clinically insane last week and I thought it was a very interesting topic to discuss, so I thought i would bring it over to the OB. Basically I want to know others opinions on those who have such illnesses as: Schizophrenia Psychopathy Alcoholism Multiple Personality Scocial Anxiety Agoraphobia (a phobia, but contributes to the topic a little) and Psychosis.... Mainly the issue on debate was: Are people with these kinds of illnesses acceptable in society if they can have somewhat (if any) control over thier state of mind and body? How would you reactions be if you knew someone with one of these illnesses and what would you do about it (physically, socially, mentally, and personaly). Do you think they would be safe to themselves and to others around? I look forward to hearing the opinions of others, thanks.

Though their not that popular (with a lot of gamers) I like to bring the classic ladies back to the stage. Definately the girls from resident Evil are VG:Vixens to me, their smart and cunning and know how to look good and kill things at the same time, lol. Plus their just plain awsome :catgirl: Jill Valentine Ada Wong Claire Redfeild
